Remembering the part near The End of RGU after Anthy, Utena, and Akio go to see the "full" shadow play in-universe. They sit there, smiling, enjoying the show, the whole time their exact story is being told back to them with all the twists that are still to come being just outright laid out (by the best characters in the show imo, love you shadow play girlies). Then Utena asks Akio what he thought and he says "It was alright for a grade school production."

And you see it kinda hit Utena and she even repeats it back. Its fine! Its trivial nonsense and not worth thinking about because it comes from the mind of a grade schooler. You know, someone her age. Someone he seeks out and preys upon. She's realizing what he really thinks about her, about her age.
