The Justice League has been working to dismantle the GIW for awhile, and finally found enough evidence to get them shut down.
Superman is picked to be involved with the dismantling of the base, and equipped with some sort of strange watch bought from a family-run ghost hunting business in Illinois. Apparently, the thing prevents him from being possessed.
He has, of course, ordered fifteen of the things.
Being possessed and used to hurt his friends and family has and always will be one of his worst fears.
As they circle the base, hidden and in groups, waiting for Cyborg to bypass security-Cyborg pauses.
They have someone.
A small-town hero, Phantom. They have him strapped to an operating table, and they're literally about to start carving into him.
Superman sees red.
Inside the base, Danny's waiting for the GIW thugs to start cutting into his duplicate so he can record it and get evidence to the Justice League, so that they know these guys are really fucked up.
He isn't expecting the ceiling to suddenly go missing.
He really isn't expecting to see a spectacularly pissed off Superman start towards the GIW agents while Martian Manhunter (calm down fenton don't be a nerd don't geek out omgomgomgomggggg) himself frees the duplicate.
Then Martian Manhunter pauses.
Looks at Danny.
Danny wills himself onto the visible spectrum and allows the duplicate to dissipate.
Unfortunately, in his effort to not sound starstruck, he just sounds pissed.
"Oh, so now you show up? In the middle of my sting operation?"

Hi helloo I saw your post about Merlin and I still haven’t made up my mind on whether to watch it and so wanted to get perspective of a kmcg fan on it. Like, I know im gonna be constantly pissed at canon and won’t care that much about merthur, and Morgana is constantly done dirty, so apart from mooning over Katie not much to be excited about. Is there many fan works that do her justice though? I’m kind of afraid that she’s mostly used as a plot device for the gays there as well
okay, so. my relationship with merlin is a curious one because i am liable to go fully off the rails angry at some of the Choices they make, but it’s also my go-to for background noise when i’m doing other things
i came to it very late (finally watched it all during the pandemic) and i will say i was only really there for morgana but she certainly got her claws in me and left her mark for eternity (literally considering the 5 tattoos she alone inspired)
gwen, arthur, and merlin all have their moments where i enjoyed the stories and i thought gwaine was a fun addition when he comes around but it’s all very surface for me
but also, she looks like this so what’s some bad plot in the face of perfection, ya know…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
because i went in knowing morgana was ultimately going to be done dirty, i never really invested in morgwen or merthur and as such i’ve never read a fic that’s exclusively for merlin
that being said, i do have three series’ that crossover in some way with supergirl that i will recommend because i never pass on an opportunity to mention them:
Cadentibus Astris by @bibliophile-rhino-nerd
summary of fic one:
King Rodor of Nemeth adopts the two fae children found in his land. Young Kal and Kara grow up in his court as members of his family, along with his daughter Mithian. But now that his children are growing a diplomatic party to their allies in Camelot is in order.
Or the Kara pretends to be the bastard child of a king and ends up being pushed into an arranged marriage with the Lady Morgana fic.
(it’s one of my all time top of the list favorites, i literally started another reread of it this morning, and make it extra fun by picturing the queen of nemeth as brenda strong)
The Once and Future Alien also by @bibliophile-rhino-nerd
summary of fic one:
After helping with the Dominator invasion, Kara's trip home didn't go as planned. Now, stuck in some sort of medieval hell scape without potstickers or her friends; Kara has to find a way home. Only problem is that she doesn't even know exactly where or when she is. The only way to survive and get home is to ask herself, What Would J'onn J'onzz Do? Problem is, he wouldn't run around being a hero, he'd blend in. So what to do when she finds herself in Camelot where things are dangerous, and people need to be protected?
where the heart moves the stone by @jazzfordshire
summary of fic one:
In a desperate attempt to reclaim her throne, Morgana casts a dangerous summoning spell to call for aid. When the call is answered by a woman with no name and an even stranger story (Red Daughter), the façade of vengeance and control that Morgana has cultivated so carefully begins to fall apart.

Supercorptober Day 7 - Party
Noise
Read on Ao3
The blaring music distorted from the volume and shook Lena's chest. Of course Lena had wanted to come when Alex and Kelly had invited her to the bachelorette party they had chosen to have at their favourite gay bar in town. Even though it wasn't her usual scene she figured she'd still have a good time celebrating with her friends. She'd done well enough with the house parties she'd gone to as a teenager, mostly to get away from, and ideally to piss off Lillian. But there always seemed to be a quiet corner for her to befriend the family pet or peruse whatever books were about. The drag show had been a blast, performers making gender expression their playground, setting a sexy and festive mood for the night, even bringing Kelly and Alex on stage along with other people celebrating birthdays, anniversaries or other occasions. Now with the party in full swing she was surrounded by unrelenting noise and movement. It was all she could do to sit next to J'onn and sip her drink watching the rest of her friends on the dance floor. Whenever someone checked in with her she assured them she was ok, just happier to sit and watch from afar. Which wasn't entirely a lie, she and J'onn were both enjoying observing their family singing and dancing in celebration without needing to be in the chaos of it. It's just that even the least chaotic parts of the room were still a torrent of stimuli.
Lena put a smile on seeing Kara bounce over.
"Babe don't you want to dance?" Kara shouted, barely coherent over the music. Even the cheer radiating from Kara added to the wall of noise. Lena shook her head. Realizing she had reached the point of being ready to break, she let the panic flash across her face, she had no words and shook her head again.
"Too much?" Kara's question was met with a nod. "OK I've got you. J'onn we're just going to grab some air." After getting a nod from J'onn, Kara took Lena's hand to guide her through the crowd and out of the building. She didn't stop till they'd found a spot around the corner from the people who had also stepped out for smokes or space to chat.
"Do you want touch right now?" Kara asked, hands still linked. A nod was all she needed. Breaking the contact momentarily, she dropped her jacket on the ground and sat with her legs apart, patting a spot on her jacket between them. Lena sunk down to lean against her partner who wrapped her arms around her.
"Is this good?" Kara asked softly.
"Very." Lena sighed in relief, finding her words again. Kara rocked slightly side to side. The pressure and swaying quieted the sounds of the world, the laughter of the smokers and muffled bass beats shrinking to take up less space in her head.
"Thank you, I don't know how you knew exactly what I needed." Lena toyed with one of Kara's warm hands.
"I didn't, I just knew you needed help. I saw myself in you."
"How so?" Lena always saw Kara as pretty extraverted, happy to share her high energy on such occasions.
"When I first came to earth, everywhere felt as loud as this party." Kara chuckled, grateful for how far she'd come. "To some extent I got used to it, but sometimes I still get that deer in the headlights look. The one I'd get everyday when I came here, the same one you had in there."
"I can't believe I never noticed." Lena felt like she should know. Even if they had only been together a few months, they'd been best friends for so many years.
"Most of the time I know how to deal with it, either using emotional or physical tools." Kara didn't want Lena to think it was her fault for not knowing. "Also... I'm not always the best at sharing my internal struggles."
"You? Never!" Teased Lena, nudging her elbow into Kara's ribs. The harmony of their laughter together was something she'd never grow tired of. "So what do you do when it gets to be too much?"
"Well in a pinch I'll focus on my breathing and think of something calming. Often just knowing that when it's all over I can come home to a quiet night with you is grounding." Kara planted a tender kiss on top of Lena's head. "But sometimes I need extra help so I use other tools. Like right now I have earplugs in." She leaned forward to show Lena, and sure enough a tiny bit of pink and yellow swirled foam peeked out Kara's ear. "I also have cbd oil, Alex has me take a pretty high dose and concentration for my metabolism which gets pricey, but for stuff like this it's like adding a volume dial to all my senses. If you want you can have some, I've got extra earplugs too!"
"Yeah, that'd be great actually." Lena grinned at her partner's enthusiasm.
"Have you ever had any kind of concentrate before?" Kara fished around in her jacket pockets.
"No, although I've smoked a few joints in my life." Lena watched as Kara drew a small amount of oil from the bottle into a tiny syringe.
"I'll just give you a bit to start then, this stuff is pretty concentrated. Open up." Kara squirted the oil into her mouth, it made Lena feel like she was a baby bird being fed.
"Oh that's not bad, it tastes like orange." She shouldn't have been surprised that Kara had found one that tasted like candy. Kara nodded gleefully, topping herself off with several times the amount she'd given to Lena. The two sat swaying together in silence for a while. Lena's brain buzzed, this time with a calm happy sensation, making the rocking feel even nicer.
"I think I'd like to try going back inside." Lena took a breath steadying herself from the memory of how she'd felt inside before.
"Only if you want to, and you signal me if you need to come back out, ok?" Kara said dotingly.
"Only if you do the same." Lena turned to cock an eyebrow.
"Deal" Kara smiled that wide smile Lena loved, where her eyes almost closed taking the shape of crescent moons. The two rose and Lena positioned the earplugs while Kara put her jacket back on.
Lena stepped gingerly at first, waiting to see if the anxiety returned. The room was still loud, louder than she would ever choose to listen to music, and everything still moved. But now the bass in her chest felt kind of nice, and she could make out the rhythm in the lyrics. Kara watched a hopeful smile spread across her face and mirrored the sentiment, offering a hand. Lena let herself be led to the dance floor where they joined the two brides to be, Nia, Brainy, and a stiffly dancing J'onn who'd been persuaded to join in for a few songs. She danced, and sang and laughed until she could hardly stand. Even though she'd do it all again, relief washed over her knowing that Sunday would be a day of Netflix and cuddles, and the wedding wouldn't be until the following weekend.

My thoughts on Zack Snyder's Justice League because I watched it
The opening sequence, bc even tho the repeated scream audio was stuipid this opening was better
The new meeting between batman and Aquaman - that drawing on the wall in the og was unnecessary
Diana's extra badassery
The design of Stephen Wolf, because now he actually looks scaryish
The Queens emotions about losing her sisters of Themyscira - QUEENS DON'T JUST SEND THEIR PEOPLE INTO BATTLE EMOTIONLESSLY THESE SCENES WERE NEEDED - FUCK
THE BIGGER WITH IN THEMYSCIRA WHY THE FUCK DID THEY CUT THAT OUT?! - oh right, its because the previous director is sexist as fuck,

The close up on the fly things because that actually made it scary
THE FUCKING LIGHTING CEREMONY IN THEMESCERIA HOLY MOTHER FUCKING SHIT

Arthur and his trainer talking, but idfk why they kept the bubble thing Although I do like that they clarify that it's not just Mera who can do that bubble thingy
The scene between Stephen Wolf and the stone-wall dude person was cool and it explained why Stephen Wolf was so desperate
Zeus, Ares, and Artemis prepped for battle along with Poseidon in the flashback was FUCKING AWESOME!!! Diana's Aunt as well, the shows of the Green Lanterns, and the ring returning to the planet [Although they should've named Artemis, bc she can easily be mistaken for Athena - Also; Artemis' roman equivalent in the goddess Diana ]

The Gods vs Darkseid was FUCKING AWESOME
Barry's awkward rambling after running into Iris
ALSO IRIS FUCKING WEST!!!
The Big Belly Burger Reference, nicely done

The slow-mo crash gave me anxiety
My dad says, "I know you got all the time in the world but c'mon this is ridiculous" about that scene then "That beautiful car..."
THE SCENE WITH STEPHEN WOLF AND THE ALTLANTIAN MAKES EVERYTHING MAKE SO MUCH MORE SENSE BECAUSE HOW THE FUCK DID STEPHEN WOLF KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE MOTHER BOX IN ATLANTIS

I love Diana's shirt in the scene with Alfred
"Looks like you have a date, Ms. Prince" lmfao - Unless his name is Steve, I doubt it
I feel like Victor and Diana would be a good brother/sister duo, ngl
Burying the fucking box at your mothers grave was the stupidest shit I have ever fucking seen Victor.
COMMISIONER GORDON HELL YES
Barry's utter fail at being normal around Diana
The underwater click-like dolphin speak was cool, but still kinda dumb knowing that later Aquaman speaks underwater just fine - ngl
Nice Liquidkinetics, Mera. Amber you're still a cunt.
Also, Mera says her parents died - Wasn't her father alive in Aquaman??
Victor seeing the bat-signal explains how he knew how to find them, honest

Stephen Wolf getting visions from the boxes also explains a lot about some shit
"I know the requirements, I wrote them" Suuuuuuubtle lmfaoo
Victor brining the box them also fits better
Why is this Stone looking mother fucker speaking Latin?

Oh man I would watch the SHIT out of all of those JLA/JLU sequel shows you pitched. But I have to know: will John Stewart's terrifying landlady be making an appearance? (Also you reminded me of just how much I desperately wanted J'onn's human wife's backstory. Or like, even a name?)
(Original post is here for those just joining in.)
John’s terrifying landlady would be a recurring character. At least once per season she would get to wail on a supervillain or five, but there would also be a running gag where she keeps beating on other members of the Justice League. At one point John even introduces her to Flash, but she still whacks him over the head with her broom the next time he comes by and John isn’t home. Once she even beats up Batman.
I keep thinking that J’onn’s wife was named Ming, and then remembering that was just fanon… But yeah, I would really love to know the story of how they got together. I’m imagining a situation where they’ve been dating for months and J’onn has been agonizing over how to tell her the truth about who he is and finally after some harrowing adventure or other he just kind of blurts out, “I’m an alien,” and to his shock she just pats him on the hand and says, “I know, dear.”
Other things that definitely happen at some point on these hypothetical shows:
Remember the Flashmobile? Wally’s…very expressive van? Yeah. Wally, John, and Shayera absolutely go on a road trip in the thing. John complains about the van the entire time. Shayera genuinely likes the leopard print cushions. At some point Wally installed a karaoke machine, and John very much lives to regret this. Shayera sings death metal, which honestly isn’t that surprising. Wally also sings death metal, which…kind of is. John insists that he doesn’t sing, but eventually the other two wear him down and he does a decent riff on Ray Charles.
One time Queen Audrey is taken hostage by a Kasnian nationalist group that wants to see the country leave the World Assembly and rebuild their military might. Diana for some reason can’t get to her for most of the episode, so the plot is just Audrey playing her captors to keep herself and the other hostages alive until Diana can show up and punch some fascists.
Shayera still gets a lot of hate and distrust as a result of the Thanagarian invasion, and although she tries to ignore it, sometimes it still gets to her. In one episode she’s sunk particularly deep in self-hating thoughts, so Wally decides that she’s gonna spend the day with him in Central. She’s not really interested in socializing but he’s insistent and weirdly excited about the idea and it’s kind of impossible to say no to that puppy face, so she goes along. And then the whole episode is just about how the people of Central City absolutely love Shayera. Like they’re stopping her on the street to say thanks, asking for selfies and autographs, kids are shyly giving her pictures they drew of her looking badass and saving the day. It’s wild. Finally she just straight up asks a woman why everybody is being so nice, and the woman looks at her like she can’t imagine why they would be anything but nice and just says, “Well, you brought Flash back from that vortex, after all that business with Brainiac. Of course we love you.”
One time John gets called back to Oa for a couple of weeks and the Guardians send Guy Gardner to cover for him on Earth. It’s a two part episode and half of it is John being a badass and fighting off an invasion of Oa, and the other half is just…people on Earth dealing with Guy Gardner. Like nothing momentous happens on Earth at all. It’s just…Guy Gardner.
The Glorious Godfrey tries to make a big TV comeback by announcing that he’s discovered the Flash’s secret identity. Wally spends half the episode worrying about this but there’s not much he can do. Then Godfrey’s big moment comes and he reveals that the Flash is, in fact…Bruce Wayne! The evidence is all there. They’re both fun-loving playboys, and the fact that Wayne lives in Gotham obviously wouldn’t be an obstacle for the fastest man alive. Wayne’s vast wealth would also explain how the Flash can afford to keep himself fed with that outrageous metabolism, and as the Flash is a founding member of the Justice League, that also answers the question of how the League could afford to build not one but two incredibly advanced space stations, not to mention all the other tech they have. And, says Godfrey, it explains why the other founders continue to hold Flash as an equal even though he’s clearly not on their level - because he’s bankrolling them!
Batman is completely disgusted by this entire production. Wally assumes it’s because Bats feels insulted, and Bruce lets him think that, but tbh he’s most annoyed that Godfrey would say Flash isn’t on the same level as the rest. He will never admit that, though.
Wally, meanwhile, finds the whole thing absolutely hilarious, and gleefully tells Bruce that there’s an obvious corollary here: Batman’s secret identity must be Wally West! After all, he is a detective.
In one episode of John and Shayera’s show, there actually is an alien that sucks out people’s brains. It’s finally stopped by John’s landlady and her broom.
About a week after J’onn finally settles into an identity and an apartment for good, Agent King Faraday moves into the apartment just down the hall. It’s an open question for the whole of the show’s run whether Faraday knows J’onn’s true identity or it’s just a really wild coincidence. This question is never resolved. King Faraday and Jon Jones become friendly acquaintances and every now and then they stop to chat in the hallway about their respective days. Faraday talks about what J’onn knows to be his work with the League as if it were a humdrum office job. J’onn talks about his retirement as if he had retired from an equally dull office job. Neither is ever sure if the other knows they’re lying.
There’s a Batman and Flash crossover episode in which the Joker and the Trickster team up to do something nefarious, so Flash and Bats have to stop them. Flash doesn’t seem at all worried about it, though, and Bruce knows Wally well enough by now to get curious rather than annoyed. In the end it turns out that Trickster was working with Flash all along, solely for the joy of seeing Joker’s face when he reveals the trick.
Aquaman appears for a cameo once per season on every show. Every time he’s riding on the back of an increasingly enormous and terrifying sea monster. He says something suitably badass, and then returns to the ocean.
Diana takes Audrey home to Themyscira to meet her mother and sisters. Audrey is suitably impressed with everything except the party scene, which is pretty nonexistent. She sets about fixing this. Hilarity ensues.
Lex Luthor somehow gets out of his happy fun anti-life adventure time with Darkseid and is pretty pissed about once more being denied godhood. He shows up in Central looking for revenge on Flash for the Brainiac incident (not to mention that time they switched bodies). But it turns out Flash isn’t even home, and the whole episode is just the residents of Central kicking Lex to the curb.
Several old Cadmus files that were meant to be destroyed are stolen and sold on the black market, and there’s a massive crossover finale where all of our heroes have to team up with Amanda Waller to get the data back and undo as much of the damage as possible. Aquaman shows up at the climax riding on the world serpent.

Brainy telling Alex he's going to be the director, and him being nervous about it
"So Lex picked you, huh?"
Alex isn't bitter about it or jealous or resentful. She thought she might be, just a little bit, just very deep down, but finds that she's not.
Instead, she's proud. A little suspicious, a little wary, but proud.
Maybe Lex has some ulterior motives, maybe he wants to endear himself to them, maybe he wants to keep an eye on them– whatever the reason, it doesn't change the fact that she couldn't think of anyone else more deserving than Brainy.
"Yes," Brainy says, more to his cup than anyone else, eyes trained on his coffee, "are you angry?"
Alex shakes her head, smiles. "No, Brainy, I'm not angry, not with you at least. Sure, I'm angry at Lex for existing, in general, and Kara usually pisses me off at least once a day, but not with you, no."
It manages to bring an amused huff of a smile out of him and Alex breathes a little easier, watches him finally look up at her. "Thank you, and– I am sorry."
"Don't be," she shrugs, "this is not on you. I quit. I couldn't stay there, not with Lex parading around like some goddamn patron saint."
His face shutters and not for the first time, Alex wonders what is going on with him. It's probably just the lack of inhibitors, but she still wishes he would take with her about it.
Well, while he doesn't, she'll do the best she can with what she's got. "So. Director Dox, how are you feeling about this promotion?"
Now, Brainy smiles a little. "I confess I'm quite nervous about it. My predecessors were, after all, outstanding. There is quite a legacy for me to carry."
Alex softens. "You'll be fine," she thinks back at her own first day, what feels like a lifetime ago, "I was scared, too, when J'onn sprung that on me, but after a while, I realized something that made me feel a lot better."
"You did?"
"Yup," she nods, "I realized he didn't have all the answers either, none of us do."
Brainy looks at him thoughtfully, "indeed, we never do."
"No, that's just how life is, but I know you, Brainy, you'll be a great director."
He looks like he might not believe her just yet but Alex isn't worried. Like she said, there's no one she would trust with this job more than Brainy and no one more deserving.
No matter how muddy things might be right now, she wholeheartedly believes this– in the end, everything will be fine.

Leviathan Rising (But like, not THAT Leviathan Rising)
Fandom: Supergirl Rating: K+/T Summary: Someone’s after Supergirl! ...Oh, no, wait. They’re after...Kara Danvers? And Kara decides to play along. A/N: I have blatantly ripped off the plot of Bendis’ recent Leviathan Rising Superman Special to write a lil’ season five ‘what if’ fic. So uh. Spoilers, kinda? For the comic, and some season four stuff.
...
Kara was several blocks away from her apartment when she noticed that something was...off.
She paused, and made a show of fumbling for her phone, all the while listening intently to the group of...five? six? armed people currently gathered in her apartment.
“Maintain positions. Intel says she should be back within the hour.”
She frowned and took a deep breath, trying not to betray the sudden panic rising in her chest. Thoughts of Lex Luthor—specifically, his knowledge of her secret identity—flashed through her mind. She continued to stare at her lock screen while she focused her hearing on Alex's apartment, J'onn's office, L-Corp...
Nothing nefarious. Alex and Kelly were helping J'onn reorganize his bookshelves, and Lena was working late (again) but otherwise...no heavy boot falls. No hushed whispering of orders to 'maintain positions.'
She breathed a small sigh of relief, and listened back in on her own apartment, to see if she could learn anything more.
They weren't making much noise, and no one else in the building seemed to know they were there. So...professionals, probably. She glanced up from her phone and squinted in the direction of her building—to anyone else on the street, it would look like she was merely staring off into empty space.
X-ray and telescopic vision revealed light body armor—
She blinked. ...Light body armor?
She squinted again. They had weapons, but...they all looked fairly...standard. No power-dampening rods. No kryptonite...nothing that could subdue a Kryptonian.
And then it dawned on her.
She hastily returned her focus to her phone, and actually dialed this time, bringing the device up to her ear.
Alex answered on the second ring.
“Yeah?” Her sister's greeting was short, and it sounded as though Kara had caught her mid-laugh. She could hear J'onn and Kelly chuckling in the background as well.
“Hey. Uh...got a sec?” Kara asked, but she didn't wait to hear Alex's answer as she resumed walking down the street. “I think...I'm about to be kidnapped.”
Alex's laughter tapered off right quick.
“...What?”
“Or, abducted, I guess?” She came to a stop at the intersection, and waited patiently for the 'Walk' signal.  “There's like...six guys in my apartment right now. And I don't think they're there to steal my Ikea furniture.”
“Well...well do you need backup? Should I have J'onn—” Alex started to ask.
“No! No—I don't think...” Kara dropped her voice. “I don't think they know I'm Supergirl.”
There was a beat of silence.
“Oh.” Alex said, sounding a little...underwhelmed? “That's...different.”
“Right?”
“So...they're after...Kara Danvers?”
“I think so—they don't really seem...equipped, to handle a Kryptonian.” Kara couldn't keep the amusement from her voice as she said it—it was something of an understatement, really.
“So you're saying it's going to be a short fight.”
Kara hummed as she approached the entrance of her building.
“I dunno...I'm thinking I might go along with it?” She could hear her sister start to protest. “Think about it, Alex! If I just...knock them out, then we never learn why they were after me in the first place!” She had a few ideas; her “Aliens of National City” series had garnered quite a bit of praise, and even a few awards, but it had also earned her more than a few enemies. There were still plenty of Children of Liberty sympathizers out there, not at all deterred by the fact that the entire movement had been orchestrated by a genocidal psychopath.
“That's why we interrogate them, Kara.”
“I don't think NCPD is going to let us do that, Alex,” Kara reminded her. Alex huffed on the other end of the line.
“So I get the DEO to intervene.”
“And make Haley suspicious all over again? Alex, no.” Kara said it perhaps a bit more firmly than was strictly necessary, but Alex's sigh was understanding, as opposed to annoyed; neither of them wanted wanted to tempt fate, and risk a repeat of the memory wipe. Haley was much more agreeable now, certainly, and they would both just as soon keep it that way. “This is actually...much safer, if you think about it.”
“I am thinking about it, and it's a bad idea, Kara.”
“How is it a bad idea?” Kara demanded, “it's not like they can hurt me! And—look. I'll even put in my comm. They won't be looking for it—that way, we can keep in touch, and! Worst case scenario, you can track me. But there won't even be a worst case scenario,” she argued, already reaching into her coat pocket for the small, DEO-issued earpiece. “Okay, see? Comm is on. And in my ear.”
Alex grunted.
“I don't like this.”
“It will be fine.”
“...Whatever. You hail me on the comm the minute things go south, alright?”
“Things won't go south.”
“Kara.”
“Okay! Okay,” Kara agreed. “I gotta go. I don't see any bugs, but I'd rather play it safe. See! I'm being careful.”
“Honestly? I'm not worried about you not being careful. It's your terrible acting that has me concerned—”
Kara scoffed.
“My acting is great. Just ask Franklin.”
“Ten bucks says they see through it in under a minute.”
“I'm hanging up now.”
“What's—oh, J'onn says thirty seconds, and Kelly—”
“You guys are hilarious. Bye!” Kara hit the 'end call' button before any further snide comments could be made about her acting ability. She silently debated whether she should put her phone in her pocket, or her purse. She didn't really want these guys going through her coat, but then, they'd probably check it regardless.
She climbed the stairs to her apartment, all the while going over the specifics of her entrance. How fast was too fast, in terms of turning the key in the lock? Should she put her purse on the side table before, or after turning on the light? Should she turn the light on at all? Oh, maybe they'd cut the power...that's how it usually went. ...In movies, anyway.
Once she reached her floor, she cast a quick glance at her apartment. Her earlier estimate of six was correct—two huddled in the kitchen, two in the living room, and two in the bedroom. All more or less hiding...well, she was sure they'd all consider it really effective hiding. And it probably was, if they'd been dealing with someone who didn't have x-ray vision.
She dug through her purse for her keys, and dropped them for good measure. They clattered loudly against the concrete flooring in the hall—she complained equally loudly about dropping them.
“Gosh darn it!” she said.
“Get ready,” she heard the nearest abductor command. She smiled to herself, before replacing it with an annoyed frown as she jiggled the keys in the lock.
“Gosh darn keys, gosh darn door,” she muttered, making sure it was under her breath and directed at herself. She couldn't let on that she knew anyone was actually in the apartment.
The door swung open; a rectangle of orange light spilled into the darkened dining area. She set her purse aside, and went to turn on the lights.
The switch clicked on, but the apartment remained dark.
Knew it, she thought, somewhat smugly.
She flicked the switch a few times, and sighed in exasperation.
“I just replaced these bulbs,” she could hear them behind her. She shook her head, and started to turn. “That's what I get for buying off brand—oh, God!” She yelled, loud, but not too loud—she didn't want to endanger any of her neighbors by drawing them with necessary, over-dramatic screams.
Her abductors seemed to have the same idea. The one closest to her surged forward, and clamped a gloved hand on her mouth. A taser dug into her side. It was...uncomfortable, but very clearly calibrated for a human.
“It's not working!”
“What??”
Kara mentally cringed. She'd been so caught up in putting on a convincing performance, she'd forgotten to let the taser ‘knock her out.’
“Well, increase the voltage then!”
“No, no! Not that high, you idiot, we want her ali—”
The second round was definitely stronger. She yelped, and made a show of slumping to her knees, before pitching forward on the floor. A slight buzzing sounded in her right ear.
...Odd... she thought. She was fine, so why—
“Check her pockets. And her pulse,” one of them ordered. She bit back an annoyed huff as one of them pawed at her coat (and her neck, in that order)—just as unpleasant as she'd imagined.
The buzzing was really starting to concern her. What was that?
“Alright, get the zip ties and hood, and let's move out.” Her hands were roughly wrenched behind her, and a coarse, dark hood was thrown over her face. Her glasses were knocked askew, but remained on her nose, if somewhat precariously. That was good.
What was less good, was the realization as to what that buzzing sound was.
The comm.
The taser had been dialed up, and had fried the electronics.
As the mysterious abductors dragged her from her apartment (“Aw, geez, she's...she's really heavy? What is she, all muscle or something?”) all she could think about...was how pissed Alex was going to be.
Pretending to be dead weight was much harder than Kara anticipated.
“Would you quit—you're gonna drop her—!”
“I told you, she's really—”
“Just let me do it—oh. Uh. She is...wow, she is like. Solid.”
“That's what I said!”
“Where does a nationally-recognized journalist find the time to get jacked—”
“Enough. Set her down on the chair already!”
Kara had to fight against the reflexive urge to tense as they maneuvered her into an upright position on a flimsy, but most definitely uncomfortable folding chair. As she slumped forward, straining against the zip ties, she listened for any other clues as to her location.
...Lots of...rushing water? In pipes, it sounds like. That wasn't a problem, necessarily, but the constant sound of water would make it hard to pick up other sounds, if she wasn't actively searching for them.
Still. Not a big deal.
Someone roughly yanked the hood off her head. She was bent forward, so she hoped no one would see as she scrunched her nose, in an attempt to keep her glasses in place. Then again, if anyone noticed, or commented, she could pretend to be coming around. The place certainly smelled like it was somewhere wet—the damp, dank scent of mildew permeated her sinuses. Her reaction was, in a way, almost genuine.
“Should we wake her up?”
“Nah, let the boss handle that.”
Kara listened as the sound of their footsteps over wet concrete gradually faded. She remained bent forward, 'unconscious', and wondered how long she'd have to hold her position. Her muscles wouldn't fatigue and strain, the way a human's might—but it would potentially seem strange to her captors, if this went on for too long. She'd have to...maybe slump in the other direction, or...?
Fortunately, she didn't have to internally deliberate on that topic any further, as a new pair of footsteps drew closer. And closer still, until the new stranger was standing directly in front of her.
Another set of footsteps followed, but whoever that was hung back a bit. Something snapped...like a clasp on a...case?
“Alright, give that to me. We're going to wake her up.”
Or like a clasp on a holster, Kara thought, and started to fidget. She didn't want to have to explain why the gun shattered when they tried to pistol whip her.
“Uh...wha...huh?” she blinked and shook her head. There was that snap sound again—they'd holstered the gun. “Wha...where...?” She looked around and sat up. Slowly, of course. “Oh. Oh God—”
“Now now, Miss Danvers, there's no need to panic.” Kara stared at the woman she had to assume was 'the boss.' Tall, tan, and...was that...was that an eye patch? “You're safe. For now.”
No. Upon closer inspection—Kara threw in some exaggerated wincing and squinting—it looked more like a kind of...metal plate, fitted close to the woman's skin.
“Where am I?” Kara asked. That was...that was a good first question, for this kind of situation, right?
“Still in America,” the woman answered. “I'm afraid I can't be any more specific.”
“How...how do I know...you aren't lying?” Kara countered, adding a slight tremor to her words.
“You don't,” the woman said with a shrug. “But I will say this: I'm not really interested in you, Miss Danvers. So I don't see the point in lying. Much less effort to simply be a bit...vague.”
“They just arrived with the package, Miss Bordeaux,” the woman's associate spoke up. Kara looked over at him for the first time, and was shocked to see just who it was.
“Floyd Lawton?” Kara exclaimed, with genuine surprise.
“Ah. I see you're...familiar, with my friend, here.” The woman—or, Bordeaux, as Floyd had called her—didn't seem too concerned. But Floyd certainly didn't look happy. He scowled at Kara.
“It’s Deadshot,” he snarled.
Kara was going to press for more information, starting with how Floyd—Deadshot—escaped from prison, seemingly unnoticed,  but at that point, a trio of...guards, maybe? arrived with a large metal case.
“I'm going to apologize in advance, Kara. May I call you Kara?”
No. “I don't—”
“You weren't exactly our first choice of hostage. In fact, you weren't even on the list,” Bordeaux explained as she nodded to the guards. One of them lifted the metal case, while the other moved to open it. Kara eyed it with her x-ray vision, and was dismayed to discover that it was lined with lead. That was never a good sign. “Lena Luthor. James Olsen. Your sister. They were on the list. You? You were. A last minute suggestion. Provided by a mutual acquaintance, actually. Snapper Carr.”
Kara, who, up until this very point, had been making sure to appear out of sorts, suddenly found herself sitting bolt upright, her heart hammering in her chest.
“What?”
Bordeaux ignored her question. “You've seen the headlines lately, right? Of course you have; you’re a reporter. ‘Mysterious 'Leviathan' Strikes Again’.”
Kara was still stuck on Snapper. Snapper? What...had they kidnapped Snapper too? Or...or...oh Rao. Was Snapper...working for them?
Whoever this 'them' was?
“I...I've...yes,” Kara said, though in all honesty, it wasn't exactly something on her radar. Neither hers, nor Supergirl's. All the reports seemed to indicate that 'Leviathan' was just...a criminal organization. Like Intergang, minus the stolen alien tech.
Leviathan was on her to-do list, sure.
...But it was. Low on her to-do list.
“I want Leviathan,” Bordeaux said as a guard pulled the lid from the case. Kara nearly groaned out loud as a green glow shined from within. “And Leviathan wants Supergirl. You see where I'm going with this, right?”
Not really. “So, you...?” Kara could feel her stomach start to churn, and that terrible, terrible burn. “You...you want...”
“Snapper said you know the Girl of Steel. That you have some way of contacting her, to get interviews.” The guard withdrew what looked like a fairly standard flak jacket. But situated in the center was a large chunk of—what else!—kryptonite. “But even if you didn't, I'm willing to be she'd bet the first person your network of associates would call in the event of your capture.”
“She...she won't come. She'll...know it's a trap,” Kara argued feebly. She no longer had to pretend to be weak and worried. She was now both.
“...How unfortunate for you,” Bordeaux shrugged as she nodded to the guards. They cut the zip ties from her wrists, and wrangled her into the flak jacket, before cuffing her again.
Kara was frantically going over her options, even as a cold sweat broke out on her forehead. She'd fought through kryptonite poisoning before. She...she could get out of this, but she'd have to wait. Wait until they left her alone.
But...wait. Why... why had she said...’unfortunate?’
The sound of rushing water grew louder.
Kara's shoulders drooped. Oh.
That was why.
“We'll make sure to drain the room once Supergirl arrives,” Bordeaux assured her as water began to bubble up from the grates in the floor. “It was nice meeting you, Kara. Oh! And if you could do me a small favor...”
Kara swallowed audibly as Bordeaux leaned close, and smiled.
“Tell Supergirl...Checkmate.”
With that, Bordeaux and her men left the room, slamming the door shut with a resounding THUD. Kara could both hear and see the metal locks sliding into place.
Not a problem. Not a problem.
She repeated that to herself, over and over, as the water level continued to rise, and as the kryptonite sat heavy and hot on her chest. She'd broken out of chains. Taken a bullet to the shoulder! All while exposed to kryptonite. This...this was nothing!
She experimentally tugged at her restraints. Standard metal cuffs. Okay. Okay! She...she could do this.
She gritted her teeth as she felt the water pool around her ankles. Focus. Focus.
She grunted and pulled her arms apart, as far as her strength would allow.
...Nothing.
She huffed angrily, blowing a stray bit of hair out of her face. The kryptonite continued to make her entire body throb in pain. Rao damn it, she hated this stuff.
Again, she told herself, mustering strength and yanking at the cuffs.
Nothing.
Again!
Nothing.
Again!
*Clink*
Kara grinned. The water was up to her knees, but she felt the metal start to give. She took a deep breath. One more time.
She pulled against the cuffs. The metal piece holding them together snapped. She nearly laughed in relief. She was free!
...Kind of.
She fumbled with the straps on the vest, her movements clumsy and slow, but she eventually managed to tug it off.
She looked around, trying to find a place to throw it. Or...maybe put it back in the lead lined case? Yeah, that would probably be best place for it...
She looked around the small room, which was still rapidly filling with water. It was now above her waist. The guards...they had left the case, right?
She took a deep breath and plunged under the cold water, and forced her eyes open. The water was murky, and the room wasn't exactly well lit...but a quick, cursory glance revealed that...the case was nowhere to be found.
Kara surfaced, and sputtered.
“Great,” she hissed. “Just. Perfect.”
She threw the vest as far away from her as she could manage. It wasn't a large room; it did not go far. She could still feel the rock's effects.
Ignore it. Push it down. Fight through it. She told herself. She needed to find a way out of this room. The door, obviously, seemed like the obvious choice.
But she could hear guards. She squinted at the door. Maybe, if she could time it right, when the hallway was clear...
Her x-ray vision flickered. She saw...maybe two or three guards before that particular power gave out completely.
Okay, so. That option was probably a no. She didn't feel like explaining how Kara Danvers managed to escape from handcuffs and knock down a solid metal door.
She shook her head. If only there was a convenient window to jump out of.
...Or. Maybe. Out wasn't the operative word, but rather, up.
She eyed the ceiling. That...would be messy. But these guys were counting on Supergirl to show up, right? So...a little hole in the ceiling would be easy to explain away. Expected, even.
It would take a lot of her reserves of strength, though. It would kinda be...a 'one shot' situation.
She balled her fists, and made up her mind.
Here we go.
She jumped, rather than flew, hoping to retain just enough strength to remain mostly invulnerable as she tore through the concrete above.
She braced for the hit, but whatever she'd been expecting—Rebar, metal pipes, electrical wires—it was not what slammed into her at full, icy force, sending her tumbling back down in a watery spiral.
As she floundered and winced and struggled to surface, she realized that the 'rushing water' sound had not been coming from pipes.
The facility itself...was completely submerged.
ELSEWHERE, EARLIER
Alex wasn't worried.
Alex wasn't worried, because these past several months had taught her something: she could trust that her loved ones could take care of themselves. She didn't have to...have to constantly concern herself with their safety.
So she wasn't worried.
...Definitely, totally not worried.
“You're worried,” Kelly said, in an accusing tone.
“...Only a little,” Alex countered, and took a sip of wine. J'onn chuckled.
“That's progress,” he said, admiring his newly reorganized bookshelves. “I'm sure Kara's fine, Alex.”
“I know,” Alex said, and when Kelly raised an incredulous eyebrow, she insisted, “I do! I know she's probably fine! Logically. Emotionally, I'm still. Not quite. ...There yet. But I will. Get there. Promise.” Both J'onn and Kelly shared a knowing look, but didn't question Alex's assurance. “...I shouldn't check her comm, right? No. Of course not. Because she’s fine.”
“Check her comm, Alex. If only so you see how ridiculous you're being,” J'onn said as he sat down at his desk. Alex rolled her eyes, and grabbed her phone.
She was in the process of pulling up her secured DEO connection when the screen lit up with an incoming call.
LENA LUTHOR
Alex frowned. Lena?
She hit the green 'answer' button and greeted her friend. “Hi...Lena? What—”
“Someone's using kryptonite,” came the flat, quick reply. Alex blinked, caught entirely off guard.
“What are you—kryptonite? What—”
“Given the nature of...some of my research...I thought it best to install something similar to the DEO's K-radiation detection system—a far more advanced, precise detection system, obviously. And that system picked up trace amounts of K-radiation, within a hundred miles of the coast. So I thought...I should let you know.”
“Oh, that's...okay. Thanks, I...” it took Alex a moment to process the information, especially considering she hadn't really be expecting a call like this. But she found herself less interested in the revelation of k-radiation usage...and far more concerned with Lena's...almost apathetic? tone. “I'll...I'll have the DEO look into it. But, Lena...are you...alright? You sound...weird...”
“I'm fine,” Lena said sharply, “...I have to go.”
The call ended before Alex could say goodbye.
“...That...was definitely weird,” Alex muttered. J'onn leaned forward.
“What are you going to have the DEO look into, Alex?” he asked. Alex shook her head.
“K-radiation. Somewhere off the coast. I...oh, great, I didn't think to ask—” Alex didn't finish her thought; a text message with coordinates popped up on her phone. “...Never mind.”
“K-radiation? Should you warn Kara?” Both Kelly and J'onn were standing.
“...Yeah. Yes. Yes,” Alex told herself she could deal with Lena’s weird behavior later, and focused instead on the current problem. “Here, I'll pull up her comm, and—”
The secured DEO connection was up and running, displaying a list of active communication devices.
Kara's wasn't on it.
“...Oh, you've got to be kidding me,” Alex grumbled. J'onn, who was by now looking over her shoulder at her phone screen, and shook his head.
“Well. I guess you were right to worry.”
SOMEWHERE UNDER WATER, NOW
So. That had gone...badly.
Water was now coming up from below, and spilling in from above.
And there was kryptonite floating around...somewhere. It was too dark to see, and Kara was too busy treading water to look for it. Treading water, and trying to decide the best course of action.
She could just...risk her secret identity, and break down the door...but that wouldn't change the fact that the facility would continue to flood, due to the, ah...leak that she’d caused, AND she'd have to deal with guards. Many, many guards.
The other option was...attempt to swim up and out. Deceptively simple. No guards, no risk of exposing her secret identity...
But it would be swimming. Which meant holding her breath, and working against the crushing force of the incoming water AND the increased pressure that came with being this far below sea level.
She was already at half strength. And while she might have retained some of her invulnerability...Kryptonians still had to breathe, for all of their other impressive, super-human abilities.
So. Door, or swim?
Precious seconds were ticking by. She was already basically out of time, with just inches of space left above water.
Well, the more distance I put between me and the kryptonite, the greater chance I have of...not dying...Kara reasoned, taking one last gulp of air before she was really out of time.
The cold water closed in, and now she could see, at least a bit more clearly, the menacing glow of the kryptonite below.
Which cinched it.
She pushed up against the crushing pressure, kicking as hard as her remaining strength would allow.
This is fine, this is fine...just a quick swim, she told herself, even as she felt the acute crush against her rib cage. And that intense press on her lungs drew her entire focus—she couldn't think about how far underwater she was, or where in the world the facility was located. 'Still in America,' if Bordeaux was to be believed. So. Not international waters.
Doesn't matter...if you can't make it...to the surface...Kara thought desperately. Her muscles ached, and her body was telling her, hey...oxygen would be great.
Could Kryptonians get the bends? No, no—Clark kept a spare Fortress in the Bermuda Triangle...but then. He probably never traveled there during a bout of kryptonite poisoning.
Her vision was starting to go grey at the edges. She kept kicking, kept pushing against water. Her body's polite request for oxygen had become an insistent  demand. Oxygen. NOW.
She paddled, and kicked. The water seemed endless. The grey at the edge of her vision was now pulsing black spots, and there was a troubling pounding behind her eyes.
She didn't know what was more distressing; the threat of imminent, inevitable death, or the fact that Alex had been right about how this plan was going to go—which was to say, south.
She was barely kicking now, and her arms felt heavy—she wasn't moving forward so much as floating. She struggled, willing her body to keep going, just a bit farther...
One final kick. One desperate flail upwards.
Her hand broke the surface.
Adrenaline gave her a spurt of energy to surge upwards. She broke the surface and at last, at last, took a deep, grateful breath of air. And Rao, it felt good.
But.
She didn't have enough strength to keep treading water. She felt herself slipping back under. She clamped her mouth shut, but not before swallowing enough water to make her throat seize.
No, no! Don't...don't open your mouth! She struggled not to gag, and to get back up to the surface. She was so close!
In something of a panic, she reached out, almost like...if she could just get her hand above water, she could...she could grab onto something...!
Which was crazy.
But, to her complete and utter shock, that was exactly what happened.
“Oh my God, Kara.”
“Hrk—cough—nnnrg. I know.”
“Oh my God, Kara!”
“I know,” Kara repeated, lying flat on her back on land. Glorious land. “Li—cough, cough—sten. Listen. It's not—not like I  could've known they ha—cough. Krypto—cough—nite cough.” She was still in the process of trying to expel salt water from her lungs. “They didn’t--they didn’t even know--that kryptonite would affect me! It was a trap for Supergirl! Cough.”
“This...this is not helping. With the anxiety,” Alex tilted her head back and sighed. Loudly. “It's doing the opposite, Kara. The exact opposite.”
“I can't sense anyone down there,” J'onn interrupted, walking up the beach. He was still in his Martian form, having rescued the floundering Kryptonian about a mile or two out from the shore. “My guess is that they evacuated the facility after you punched a hole in it.”
“So, what. Supergirl was supposed to use the front door?” Kara joked weakly. Alex shot her an unimpressed look. “Alex, come on. This...this was a fluke.”
“A pretty dangerous fluke,” Alex argued.
“Admittedly, yeah,” Kara sat up with an audible groan. “But. I...did learn something. I think,” she said. “Something about that Leviathan group.”
Alex and J'onn looked at her in surprise. “You got information on Leviathan?”
“Not much,” Kara shrugged. “But. I know they're making some pretty powerful enemies...and they're definitely not fans of Supergirl. So I think...this just took top priority, on my to-do list.” She punctuated her point by standing—or, trying to. She needed Alex's assistance.
“You owe me ten bucks,” Alex said, slipping an arm around Kara’s shoulders.
“Uh, no I don't,” Kara said.
“Uh, yeah you do. I said it'd go south. It went south.”
“You said they'd see through my acting.”
“Same thing.”
“No! J'onn, tell her it's not the same thing.”
“I'm not getting involved,” J'onn said, though he did move to Kara's other side as they continued up the beach, helping her walk on the uneven terrain.
“My acting was great.”
“You had kryptonite poisoning.”
“It's called method acting.”
“Are you two...going to bicker the entire way back?” J'onn asked. Alex and Kara glanced at each other, and, in near perfect unison, answered.
“Yes.”
FIN
Notes:
Leviathan and Checkmate are both secret organizations within the DC comics universe. Currently, a new Leviathan is running around in the Super books, potentially unrelated to Talia al Ghul’s Leviathan.
Clark’s new Fortress in the comics is located in the Bermuda Triangle. And! In the New 52, Kara had an underwater Fortress of sorts.
Snapper Carr and Deadshot were, in fact, both members of Checkmate.
I was originally going to use Valentina Vostok as 'the boss' but apparently she's already appeared on Legends of Tomorrow. So we get Sasha Bordeaux instead. (Amanda Waller is technically the 'Queen' of Checkmate, but again. Didn't want to use a character that had appeared elsewhere in the Arrowverse.)
I am aware of the similarities to some stuff that happens in the season 2 episode “Alex” but this fic was more inspired by the kryptonite drowning scene from Superman (the movie).
This fic operates under the assumption that Kelly knows Kara's secret.
All grammar/spelling mistakes are mine.
This makes the second longer-fic in a row where I’ve put poor Kara through the wringer. I will be kinder in the next one. ...Maybe.

Supergirl - S5 E13 - It's a Super Life
I kind of forgot Mixy was already on Supergirl.  I was ambivalent with the actor choice when he showed up at the end of the last episode, but given the alternative, I'm okay with it. All this hand-wringing about altering history, but they're currently living in a radically altered timeline right now as a result of Crisis.  There are facts about their own lives and histories that they still completely surprised to learn; so would this one thing really be that big of a deal?  I mean, it probably will be, because the writers are fucking morons, but it shouldn't be; especially if, presumably, Mixy offers some type of escape clause should things not pan out to Kara's liking, which she should definitely insist upon. It goes to show how little I actually care or pay attention, even as I review these shows - did Lena fess up to Kara that she remembered Pre-Crisis?  Because if not, why is Kara even worried about it, if she's still operating under the assumption that everything is good between them Post-Crisis?
So when they go into Kara's past is she interacting with Pre-Crisis Lena or Post-Crisis Lena?  Because technically the only past that still exists is the Post-Crisis timeline, which should mean it'd be the Post-Crisis Lena, but since Lex made a deal for the Pre-Crisis version of Lena to exist once Crisis was over, where does the one end and the other begin?  A Post-Crisis Lena's experiences and perspective on the world should, arguably, be different from Pre-Crisis; for starters given the fact that in the Post-Crisis world, Lex was never brought down or considered a criminal or a murderer and Lena never had to rebrand the family company.  She obviously still has mommy-issues, and some other things in common, like ostensibly her relationship with Andrea and the way that played out, but there would be other differences.
youtube
"So much exposition." Okay, I like this version of Mixy. I know the actor probably didn't write that line and has nothing to do with it other than the delivery, but still, it was a good line taking the piss out of how much exposition there is in any of these shows. I mean, if they've found the sweat spot where Kara can reveal herself to Lena without Lena going over the dark side, even if there are ramifications like Lena, Mon-El or Sam dying; shouldn't that be kind of a minor point to fine tune?  If you're going to fuck with history, you might as well give it the full shaft and do it right.  That's what Oliver did. Well obviously this happy-go lucky timeline is going to get fucked up somehow.   Why would their public relationship change so radically in this altered timeline?  The only thing that's different is that Lena knows her secret; either way she'd have worked alongside Kara just the same as she did before, maybe siding with Kara a little more often, but this is over the top.  Any ideological differences in opinion that they might have had in the past wouldn't have necessarily evaporated just because Lena knew Kara was Supergirl; and why would they go out of their way to make a public brand about this partnership. Also, isn't that exactly what the Post-Crisis DEO & Luthor-Corp dynamic is supposed to be; Lena and Supergirl (and Lex) working together?  How is this not the reality they live in then? Wait, so Lockwood still ended up working with the same people as he did in the original timeline, but why?  That was all orchestrated by Lex.  So what, Lex still brings on Lockwood, only this time he does to kidnap his sister?  For what purpose?  He's not even in jail in the Post-Crisis timeline; and is there even a Reign, much less a Red-Daughter in this other other timeline? I'll admit, the episode wasn't terrible up to this point, but there's some logical inconsistencies with how they're trying to make the best possible outcome a bad one; it's just too forced. Wait, what?  Why is Winn suspicious of Lex in this alternate-alternate reality?  When Winn came back from the future he had no idea that Lex was supposed to be a bad guy, meaning he had all the Post-Crisis memories until J'Onn mind whammied him.  Or in this Lena-Kara team-up timeline did Kara and Lena uncover Lex's crimes and bring him down after all?  This has become a bigger clusterfuck than Crisis.... Also, Winn's appearance in this episode makes sense being the 100th (I think), but it seems a little undermined by the fact that he was just in the last two episodes and they made a big deal about him leaving in the last one. Seriously, it's not the person knowing someone's secret identity that makes them the target; it's telling the fucking world that they know such a powerful secret.  No one knows Winn knows Kara's identity, so how often was he targeted specifically for his association with Supergirl?  Sure, you might say, "well he's Winn, the average person doesn't know who the fuck he is," but that's part of the point.  He's walking around with one of the biggest secrets and they just don't fucking draw attention to it and no one asks, "hey, do you know Supergirl or what secret identity is?"  If they put a picture of Winn of the front page of the Daily Planet that he's Supergirl's best friend and keeper of her secrets, that alone would make him a very public figure with ties to Supergirl that could be exploited. Surely the world was aware of at least some of the things Lena helped Supergirl with in the original timeline, did anyone assume she knew her secret identity?  For that matter, why do they assume she has one? So in this happy, shinny timeline they said that Lena made Supergirl's new suit - so she happened to make a new suit that was identical to the one Brainy made for her in another timeline?? I honestly had already seen spoiler pictures of Kara revealing her secret identity at a press release.  I kind of wondered if they would be so bold as to actually go that route for real, but kind of figured they'd find a way to walk that back or not play it for keeps; and the second I knew what this episode was going to be about it was clear that this was how they were going to incorporate it without actually owning the outcome moving forward. You gotta love the fact that they're doing this big, "It's a Wonderful Life" style retrospective 100th episode celebration, bringing back past actors, but because they clearly couldn't get Calista Flockhart for the episode, for whatever reason, they just throw up her image and declare her dead. Not only that, but with the likes of Supergirl and Superman (not to mention the Flash, Green Arrow, et al, who now reside on this Earth), how does Agent Liberty manage to go after all of Kara's friends and family and there are no survivors?  Fuck you. Why would Mixy suddenly get pulled into this new-new-new-new timeline? Especially since it was just a preview and he wasn't pulled into any of the others? Seriously?  Kara doesn't befriend Lena, so she goes full on Dark Warrior Duck?   And here again, this is all Pre-Crisis shit; there is no L-Corp Post-Crisis and Lena didn't take over the company, she runs it alongside Lex. And would Nia still become Dreamer in this reality?  Hell, would Brainiac even be here?  There's a lot of shit that wouldn't have happened in the aftermath of Lena going to war with Lex.  How does Lena control Reign and what about the other World Killers?   You know, it wasn't until Jimmy's sister pulled out the Guardian shield that I a) remembered that Jimmy passed the mantle on to her (I think) and b) realized that, apart from footage from past episodes he hasn't made any kind of cameo; which you'd think if they were going to bring some of these others back, they'd have brought him back too.  Especially since he was there when it all started. "Where were you when my brother blew my helicopter out of the sky?" Kind of a legitimate question.  I mean, yeah, this is supposed to be the timeline where Kara and Lena never became friends, but just because they're not friends doesn't mean Kara wouldn't save her if she were able. So if Lena is using 5th dimension energy to power her drones, preventing Mixy from using his powers; and she's only doing this in National City, why don't Kara pick-up Mixy and fly them straight out of town and as far as way as necessary so that his powers work again?  Surely there's limits to where Lena's tap on the 5th dimension would affect his powers, right; even if they have to go halfway around the planet? Kara should be dead, right?  After that many direct blasts with Kryptonite energy?

The Arrowverse is back Supergirl S4E3
Aight y'all know the drill, if you haven't seen the episode go check it out then come back and read this if you feel so inclined.
Now we got some stuff to cover today, first things first #SUPERCORP lol
Now that we have that established let's get to the rest.
Alright so last time we saw Supergirl she was falling out of the sky her body completely infected buy Kryptonite having been released into the atmosphere by the lead dispersal device that got rid of the daxamites... Thank you so much white people.
Now we have J'onn with the game-winning catch my dude the Manhunter saves the day again!
I know I have a lot to say about this whole flashback thing like for real this dude was all for aliens and then his house burned down, I can't blame him for getting upset about that and his dad was killed yeah that would make somebody snap I would think, but for real becoming "Agent Liberty" that to me is just not the way to handle things. But I am not a sociopath / homicidal maniac. You can see clearly through the flashbacks that he is slowly descending into insanity much like Lex I would assume, it's sad to watch it honestly.
We see through his whole story that he was fighting to not be that way up until the point of his dad death.
I specifically heard the lines "who pays the price for it" of course in reference to progress.
His little thing at the bar "what are you doing here you're human" referring to Kara which was actually kind of funny to me. And that of course was a Kara (knight in shining armour) Danvers moment I loved it (no she was not standing in front of Lena but it was still one of those moments)
"why doesn't CatCo cover the impact of extraterrestrial attacks on the average citizen" that moment with James we saw some serious frustration and hostility building.
And
His interaction with Lena after his father's death "blaming other people for your problems" says Lena and Ben fires back with "they're not people" that one kind of pissed me off honestly.
It really sickens me to think that he would have been fine Burning Down the place if there were only aliens in the building but as soon as he seize the floor directors stumble out he says "oh he's human" but as soon as the image inducer fails he beats him over the head with a pipe. what's really sick is there are actually people out there that would do that in the real world.
A man in a suit... They can be anything, do anything and that is not limited to fictional worlds.
There are so many people in this world that are so much in the same way sick, demented, twisted and wrong as Agent Liberty is and that bothers me.
Alright so a Kryptonian design Shield is not strong enough to defend against Kryptonite... Okay I guess I can believe that with the amount that is concentrated into Karas body... Maybe.
Now I have a lot of other thoughts about Supergirl in a general sense but I'm going to finish up this episode and then I'm going to go on a small rant so feel free to stay and read the rest and then read my rant or you can check out my other posts about the arrowverse under the tag [#my thoughts on the arrowverse] now back to your regularly scheduled programming
"people underestimate me but I care I really do" this line had me screaming internationally lol Supercorp is alive and well ladies and gentlemen.
And now that Lena has saved Kara by putting her on a Kamen Rider suit let's see how Kara will talk her way out of the reason she is wearing it next time she sees Lena... I can clearly see that Lena already knew that Kara and Supergirl are the same person but if the writers make a different call that's gonna be interesting.
Aight now it's rant time!
Okay so seasons 2 and 3 Lena shows up clearly sweeps Kara off her feet and Kara does the same (look at their faces when they meet and tell me that it was not love at first sight) and we all know what James' reaction was and how he always talked about her as well as what he thought, seasons three and four... THEY'RE DATING‽‽‽ WHAT THE HELL‽ I don't get how he can be such a James (I in my life have not yet known a James that I could look at without getting angry they all have very punchable faces) and then magically he starts going out with one of the best characters on the show and one of the most beautiful woman I have personal ever seen. I wonder sometimes if she is just with James to make Kara jealous or something... I don't know but I think "Jimmy" needs to be written off the show.
Ok now next thing on my rantpage lol
Why if Kara trusts Lena which we all clearly know and have seen she does, did she try and have James to break into her vault thing? that is not something Kara would ever do. They just wanted drama so they could ignore it the next season and make us confused. Kara almost let the city explode instead of letting Lena die and Lena has saved her so many times WHY WRITERS WHY‽‽‽
Next thing... Now I don't keep up with real life stuff and I don't know much about what the real life people are doing or anything like that... However why did Sam leave? Her and Alex should have been a thing Ruby would have loved it and they could have adopted a baby together but nope Sam left with Ruby and now Alex is running the D.E.O. in J'onns place which I love how that's going but she could have gotten together with Sam and she still be runnin' the D.E.O.
Now another thing...
Why was Mon-El even a thing ok great the daxamite invasion was a thing but they could have done that so differently, since they do a lot of stuff that Superman did but instead it's obviously Super 👉girl👈 so they do females where the males would be in the same role. I even saw a post the other day about this Mon-El could have been a female and everything would be going so very differently right now. Lena would leave James because she wants to be with Kara and now knows that she has a chance and we could have all seen Lena almost married to a woman... Just sayin' that would have all made so much more sense.
Now last thing and I will stop ranting.
Am I the only one that thinks maybe Kara and them should use the breach device Cisco gave them in the Flash Supergirl crossover more often?
I guess that's it.
Alright everyone I am so glad that I am getting this out, there was probably a lot more to cover and I could go more in-depth with this episode but I watched it this morning wrote down my notes and this is what all came out of it not much in the way of review but I tried this was just kind of a slow-moving episode that went all over the same place if you know what I mean but anyway thank you for reading if you got this far and don't forget to check out my other posts under the tag [#my thoughts on the arrowverse] thank you for the support I'm glad I'm getting my thoughts out there so I can focus on other stuff so thank you I appreciate it. Tomorrow you will be seeing a post in the morning to afternoon time hopefully about Arrow and tomorrow evening into the next morning hopefully you will be seeing a post about Legends of tomorrow and of course Wednesday at some point in the day will be my next thoughts post about The Flash feel free to leave your thoughts and theories things that you would like to see whatever you can think of as a comments or please make a post about it let me know tag me in it and I will happily read it. Again thank you for reading and God bless I will catch y'all tomorrow ✌️

Awww😍😍🤩🤩 Even Leopards and Antelopes?😍😍 Sounds truly amazing!!
Exactly! Like, just ugghh, all of it seems SO much better in my mental cinematic version😂🙈 But uh-uh, hell no, you are not dumb and you shouldn't call yourself that! Don't make me start planning yet another DefenseSquad when I'm still unsure if LW needs one!
...😫😂😅
Well, one could debate now whether he died-died or just faded from existence since his timeline no longer existed thanks to the change he made?🤷🏻‍♀️😅 And well, in my defense, when I came up with this, I'd been watching/reading WAY too much Tsubasa Chronicle and Pandora Hearts and very bitter about life in general, sooo...🙈 AND AT LEAST IT HAS A HAPPY ENDING! I DON'T SEE YOU ENDING THINGS HAPPILY FOR KARAMEL!😖
I'm pretty sure there aren't...  And yes, they were all such s***heads😡 I mean, not much to be expected from Alex and Brainy can be semi-excused cause he didn't understand feelings back then, but J'onn?? What the HECK?!?! Like, WHY would he tell Mon to NOT tell Kara the one thing she was probably yearning to hear the most?!?! IT JUST DOESN'T MAKES SENSE AND MY MIND IS STILL LOADING TRYING TO EVEN REMOTELY UNDERSTAND IT!!😡😭🤯🤯🤦🏻‍♀️
And yes, Winny boy is the only best friend and family-w/o-blood who made any sense at all
Lol, pretty sure the Language must have been around before the "Hungarians" as we know them today😅
Nope, not true! Naruto had PLENTY of clones and it turned out alright😉😂
Ohhh, you call that an idea? That's just me daydreaming (Lol, pun intended?) about how the ending should have turned out🤣😂
...Omg...This is a brilliantly intriguing idea but also so, so incredibly painful😭😭😭😭 AHHHHH😭😭😭 Poor Kara! Poor Mon! And OMG, that offering herself for medicine thing and him being hurt she'd think so little of him😭😭😭 It's so freaking them😭😭😭 AND YOU MONSTER, A CHILD?!?! SHE GOES BACK TO HER FIANCE TO HIDE HER CHILD?!?😭😭 You're so evil, Mon ist probably still alive and will be heartbroken, right? AGGHHHH!! I NEED TO KNOW MORE!!😭😭 TELL ME MOOOOORRREEEE😭😭😭 (I'll just go and sob my non-existing heart out😭😭😭) (PS: ...Can you PLEEAAAAAAAASSSSE write this, even if just a short, one-shot little part of it?🙈)
XXXX
Yep, glad I went there. For a person who has spent her whoel life on watching documentaries about wild African animals it was one of the dreams coming true :D
Friend, the "dumb" is a very spacious definition and we can put a lot of things there. So yes, I'm definitely in the "Good Idea But Making It Work Aka Spending Weeks On Research And Still Not Being Able To Make It Work Because Me Is Me" Dumb category combained with simply being lazy, is 100% me. Sad facts, but I'm here to admit it *violin music*
Faded... from... existence....... and she says... like it's a nice thing... like... and you call me monster later in your message =='. When ha FADES AWAY AND STOPS EXISTING do they even REMEMBER HIM and his SACRIFICE and everyting?!!!!!
It has a hapy ending, but not for the character that SUFFERED THE MOST =_____________________=
That J'onn's comment was one of his most OUC moments in entire show, like.... and in the SAME season, no so long after, he puts them in his space ship and tell them to not be late. Like......
And then Winn pissed me off at the end of the season, while he was happily sharing information that could fuck the timelines, becasue it seems only Mon-El needs to care about it. UGH
Who knows :P
Yeah, he has plenty of clones who then are ERASED and stop EXISTING.
Still an idea!
LOL, not telling a thing about what happens next, without you talking about another fic idea :D Someone called me a monster and I guess I need to earn the nickname :)))))))))

supergirl 6x02
usual disclaimer: started to watch season 6, don't remember season 5 much, so this is going to be weird, and also will I be making commentary for every episode? I don't know! I'll probably get pissed before then warning: Lena ain't my favorite, Lex doesn't really appeal to me much as a villain (I blame Smallville), I kinda adore everyone from the good guys team. I ship Karamel and don’t mind William, so if you are pro-Lena and anti-everybody else this isn’t for you
previous episodes moment: I feel so bad for Eve oh my god
I honestly thought Kara was lost floating in space because the previous episode had the last seconds taken off (where I was watching it) and didn't get to see Kara was passed out on some alien planet
uh SuperBrainy instead of Supergirl, I'm guessing the band has united to fight evil while Kara is gone, very 'Buffy is dead and the scooby-gang is still doing her job'
poor vampire guy lmao he was so worried
Kara surrounded by monsters tho I'm so confused about her powers and about her being scared, considering her superpowers? Does she know them already? I thought she spent her time there on her tiny spaceship?
oh so the phantoms are going to torture Kara, I'm SURE the rest of the season will focus on Kara trying to recover and heal from such a horrible trauma, being basically hyperactivated, nervous system gone to hell, panicking, irritable, unable to stay still, furious, or the opposite with her basically being frozen in place, letargic... yeah I'm sure that's what will happen
I'm surprised they didn't all call sick at work
considering Lex knows about Supergirl's identity it's ridiculous that it's not the Deo that has taken him prisoner, and that he can still see people in prison
Kara's dad??? how is that?? even possible? is it the panthoms? I'm so confused oh my god. Normally I'd be sure he's an illusion, but if I'm not wrong I saw it on tumblr . gifs, not him blogging - so maybe not?
Kara's worst nightmare is standing among her loved one's bodies, so you mean what actually happened before she went back in time to change what had happened? Nice if it had been explored afterwards oh there, it did happen, but she... dealt with the trauma offscreen I guess.
I don't remember Lena and Andrea making up last season, damn it. I don't know where we are standing with this relationship, after everything that happened. Wasn't Lena using her last time they talked?
'as ever you are always putting yourself fist' okay but last time Andrea did it was when they were young and she was trying to keep her father from dying, manipulated by the bad guys?
Vampire guy was making a lot of sense not wanting to create a portal in like a few hours, given that science doesn't work that way, there is nothing to talk to him about if it can't be done that fast?? without it being super dangerous?
I just want to say that I adore Kelly's eyes
if I were in Silas the vampire and they all yelled at me I'd legit refuse to keep going even if I get that they are in pain
HOW LONG has Kara been away anyway?
I do love that at this point they are just calling J'onn a dad, explicitly
poor Eve, seriously, was destroyed by each bad guy every time we saw her in every possible reality
I'm not sure Lex can be his own lawyer while interrogating a woman he hurt who is the one testifying against him - also why is it just her? this is ridiculous. Also why would the jury actually believe Lex innocent just because he's saying Eve is trying to get revenge on him and setting him up? There should be plenty people talking against Lex, plenty evidence, Lex shouldn't be even allowed to speak to Eve directly
Lilian 'he's convinced the jury that he's a good man' HOW??? this is just too ridiculous, do they need Superman to show up and slap people?
Nia is supposed to train in like one day, so they can go through a portal created too fast, this is... not very well planned, they are not really helping Kara like this
Lex interrogating Lena kinda works in his favor at first, she created the brainwashing machine? But didn't use it - he did. So I'm not sure of what to think. But also he basically confirmed he finished building the machine himself because it was flawed but worked, he sorta admitted he did it all. You are not telling me the judges were convinced by 'you would have done it too', right? Their faces were disapproving, right?
oh the phantoms came in, that's very nice
yes I too slap my computer to make it work, the difference is that with me it doesn't make a difference
the face Lex made when he won made it actually funny for me, I'm sure it has to do with Lilian though
noooo Alex with the 'welcome home, Kara' dinner, i'm dying
'this is not just a hard path, i don't see any path at all' it's okay Alex I've been like this for months now, you'll survive it even if it sucks
wait, it wasn't Lilian who bribed the jury? they actually bought what Lex said? I'm so confused now
can someone please save Silas, I'm concerned

Notes on Supergirl 3x18
- Once again, there are many interesting stories to tell about the moral responsibilities of the press choosing to protect the powerful over informing the public that could be channelled through this Lena/James relationship; but so far, the show is interested in doing none of them.
- Lena casually keeps an incredibly dangerous weapon that could affect the global balance of power on her dresser, in a hotel penthouse, to which room service and housekeeping have access. She's a responsible person.
- Brainy makes top-tier friendship status with Winn this week, as his otherwise thoughtful gift of Future!Dirt is really a ruse to bug Supergirl and the DEO. Some things never change.
- "Tell J'onn I'll see him in a thousand years." Mixed feelings at J'onn still being around in the 31st century meaning he's *definitely* going to have to watch Alex die :'(
Yeah, sorry about that thought.
- Go watch Dead Like Me #moist
- Why does Sam's mum have a picture of Ruby if she's never met her? Where did she get it from?
- Young Frankenstein is about a descendant of the original Dr. Frankenstein trying to embrace his family's monstrous legacy in a positive manner; but in the end, can only succeed if he gives up a piece of himself. (Fun fact: in one of the many Winn/Lena fics I've outlined in my head but never written, they were going to end up at a screening of YF; and it wasn't until several months later I realised how significant that was).
- I've avoided talking about M'yrnn's plot until now, because it hits a little too close to home, and it still does; but Carl Lumbly is stellar. His confusion, his joy, his depression at his mental inactivity and his exuberance at being engaged are all consistent with one another, and heartbreaking for J'onn and for us.
- There's a way that Lena could have made the argument about having the Kryptonite... but that would require empathy, and more importantly, remorse; and Lena's aptitude for either is severely lacking. She's not sorry she lied. She won't even ADMIT that she lied. Mostly, she's pissed off she has to hide from this - she made a decision, and that should be the end of it, because she's been taught her entire life that rules are for the little people. For Luthors, rules are optional. It should surprise no-one that this is, in fact, the text-book definition of a God Complex; unlike what she's trying to argue to Supergirl, that it's about being invulnerable, which is why her argument about cars is NRA-inspired nonsense.
- I love that the Imra and Mon-El repeat the word 'honour'. That's what this relationship has been about: Honour. Duty. A sacrifice they made for the greater good. All noble concepts, for certain, but all so often used to avoid dealing with messy things such as feelings.
But Imra knows it's not working. It can't, not as long as Mon-El feels he hasn't had a choice. She feels he's earned that choice. Maybe he has, maybe he hasn't. Perhaps his penance for his life as the Prince should be to live with the choices he's made. But Imra has empowered him to decide.
And a weight has been lifted because of it. He's not just happy to be back with Kara; he's *unencumbered*. He can finally be his truest self.
- I do love a good Superman: The Movie call-back.
- I stan 1 (one) inventor of ELECTRIC NET BULLETS.
- What I love about this show: everyone, even Reign, has a code. Ruby has not sinned. Ms. Annable is fantastic in this moment; the ruthless weapon realising that SHE'S GOING TOO FAR AND THIS IS WRONG, because even Reign can admit to herself that she's capable of wrong-doing. Unlike *some* people...
- ...who have already erased all of their own actions from events when describing them to others. No mention to Kara about the Kryptonite. No mention of lying about the Kryptonite. Of course, no mention of James being a DEO-funded freelancer carrying out a DEO investigation (and if he's not DEO funded, James probably owes Winn some money). And the cherry on top: immediately comparing Supergirl to Lillian over going behind her back and using her relationships against her, like Lena isn't trying to do the very same thing RIGHT THAT SECOND. I love you, Lena; but you make it difficult sometimes.
- LenaWatch: again, Winn and Lena share scenes, but they don't really interact. I've seen 3x19 has something good, though...

DanversSistersWeek - Day 5 - Badass Sisters
It had only been a few days since Kara had rescued Maggie from Lillian and Lex Luther, she still hadn't had the heart to tell Lena, she was avoiding Lena like the plague. Kara stayed in the DEO hospital making sure that both Alex and Maggie were okay, they kept Alex there too to save her from sneaking out of her apartment to go see Maggie.
Kara was sitting on Alex's bed, whilst Alex was cuddled up to Maggie. "Danvers?" Maggie stirred "Hey babe... You're okay...you're okay." Alex smiled stroking back the hair from her girlfriend's face "Did she-" "Yeah Kara saved you, she banned me from coming after you because I was hurt." "Good." Maggie replied "I would have been so pissed if you had come after me when you should be healing." "See!" Kara sassed from the other bed.
"Knock knock." Kara looked up and Lena was at the door "Hey Maggie, Alex... you doing alright?" Lena asked with that sexy Irish accent, where anything she said just sounded so beautiful. "Yeah we're good thank you Lena." Alex smiled.
"Lena I..." "Kara can I have a word with you in private." "Sure." Kara jumped up off the bed and followed Lena outside. Lena turned to Kara in the pouring rain "What's going on?" Kara shifted her glasses on her face "I...I...I..." "Kara don't do that, you've been avoiding me ever since Maggie was taken, now she's safe, what is it?" Kara saw that Lena was worrying more than usual "Okay...look yes, I have been avoiding you but only because I was scared to tell you." "Scared to tell me what? I am not leaving here until you explain." Lena stated as she folded her arms in an annoyed poise "Lena, it was your mother who took Maggie-" "No surprise there... but why would that make you fearful of telling me? I know what she's like-" "No Lena listen. That's not all." Kara took a deep breath before she continued.
"It's Lex." Lena laughed at Kara's statement "As in my insane, evil, twisted dead brother Lex?" "Thing is he's...not...actually...dead." "I'm sorry what?" "Lex is alive and he helped your Mother to kidnap and hurt Maggie." Lena all but collapsed to the floor, not quite passing out but close to it. "Now  I understand why you've been avoiding me..." "Lena no." Kara knelt down next to the brunette "I was avoiding telling you the truth...I didn't want to be the one to hurt you." Lena looked at Kara with a slight frown "But you didn't hurt me, My mother and Lex did."
And not two minutes later there was cause for alarm, Lillian and Lex had decided to break into the DEO "Lena stay here, Alex!" Kara rushed in to where Alex and Maggie where laying "Maggie stay where you are. Come on Alex you're better. Want to help me kick Lillian and Lex Luther's ass?!" "Hell yes!" Alex jumped at the chance, before she left she kissed Maggie's soft lips "Love you babe." "Go on you Danvers's sisters, go and be the badass sisters I know that you are!" Maggie smiled.
Kara flew out the room followed by a very fast running Alex. "Lillian." Alex called out "Not very smart to break into the DEO now was it?" Alex had her gun pointed at Lillian Luther "Oh Alex. I will be getting my daughter back." Lillian replied with a smug look "Over my dead body." Kara shouted as she hovered in the air "That will be my pleasure." Lillian grinned
Alex started shooting at Lillian who had something shielding her from the bullets, Kara flew down knocking Lena's mother on to the ground, Kara got on top of her holding her by her collar and punching her a few times. "You're not going to hurt her ever again Lillian. Ever! Do you understand me?" Kara screamed throwing a blooded up Lillian to J'onn. "Put her in a cell or I will kill her if I look at her for another second."
Kara turned around to see Alex beating the absolute crap out of Lex, she was going to kill him if someone didn't stop her. Alex hit him again "If you touch my girlfriend again I will bury you! You may be a Luther but I am a fucking Danvers." and Lex received another four punches from the eldest Danvers sister before Kara flew in and plied her sister from Lex, which even with all her super girl strength it took every ounce of her strength to remove Alex "No, SuperGirl! Let me at him! He hurt Maggie I am going to kill him!" Alex screamed. Kara had never seen her sister so angry "Alex, listen to me you have to let him go, he will pay for what he did but if you kill him, you will be locked up. Maggie can't loose you, I can't lose you... ALEX!"
Just those words made Alex stop and see sense. Alex got off Lex and turned to Kara "Get him out of my sight or I will kill him." J'onn came back through just in time and escorted Mr. Luther away to a cell right next to his Mother.
Alex fell into a hug with Kara "Thank you." Alex whispered "For what? As Maggie told you, we are the badass Danvers sisters, we kick ass." Kara removed herself from the hug and continued "If I were you, I'd of done the same thing, although I would have killed him in two hits. You're my sister I love you." "I love you too Kara." Kara and Alex walked back to their girlfriends.
"Oh my god! Lena!" Kara rushed to her passed out girlfriend "LENA! LENA!" "Kara bring her in here." Alex told her sister and Kara scooped up her girlfriend laying her on the bed next to Maggie. "Lena? Come on babe, don't die!" "Kara don't be so dramatic... she's just passed out, give her a few minutes and she'll come round." Alex smiled before walking over to her own girlfrined.
"You kicked ass danvers?" Maggie asked with a knowing smile "Kicked ass? Maggie she almost throttled Lex so hard she almost killed him." Kara said with a slight grin "Good." Maggie replied "But I'm glad you didn't kill him, otherwise I'd have to arrest you." Alex smiled "You can still use the handcuffs later, I won't say no." Maggie pulled Alex in for a long kiss, "I really didn't want to hear about your sex life Alex. But thank you so much for that image." Kara squirmed.
"Don't act so innocent." Lena smiled as she started waking up, making Kara go bright red. "Lena You're okay... Oh god you're okay!" Kara swung her arms round her girlfriend squeezing her tight "I love you Lena Luther..." and in that gorgeous accent Lena replied "And I love you Kara Danvers... my very own super girl." The Danvers sisters kicked ass, and everyone was safe and alive and that's all that mattered.

Up next on bad Sanvers AU ideas I come up with while raging around cause life's pissed me off: So Alex and Maggie disappear after a top secret mission for the higher ups in the DEO (like way over J'onn's head) goes badly and everyone is told that they were killed in an explosion during the mission. About a month later a new super villain shows up in town named Vengeance (imagine high tech looking armor w/ helmet, kryptonite emitters and a smaller version of the teleportation device Lena created at the end of season two so they can jump around a fight) who, despite the name, actually just has a habit of stealing really high tech gear from the government and private labs. (However the name definitely leads them to think that this is just leading to an end goal and that they aren't just stealing things randomly). So after a couple weeks of not-so-petty thefts they really strike for the first time. They end up kidnapping Lena on her way home from work (people initially think that Lena's actually Vengeance and this just kinda solidifies the idea) and take her to this secret lab where they make her help them design and build this device. Meanwhile Kara's crushed cause her sister and her almost sister-in-law are dead and now her best friend/crush has been kidnapped by a potential psychopath. (Getting back to this in a second). After about a week of working with Vengeance, Lena finally gets them to open up about their backstory and is shocked to find out that Vengeance is actually Alex using a modified version of her kryptonite suit from season one. Alex proceeds to tell her about the mission that she "died" during. Where the DEO board decided to test CADMUS's defense systems with live bait. Only they didn't know that's what was going on so when Alex and Maggie arrived on scene they were severely outnumbered and outgunned and were quickly taken captive by CADMUS. Alex tells her how they spent several weeks being tortured for information and how she managed to escape in a fit of rage after they made the mistake of killing Maggie in front of her. (Or trying to anyways by shooting her through the stomach). At this point she finally shows Lena what they're working on, it's a regenerative device that when assembled properly should be able to regenerate entire damaged organs in a matter of minutes. Alex finally takes Lena over to the corner of the lab she's been forbidden from entering and shows her that she has Maggie's body left in stasis. She tells her how after she escaped (with Maggie) she managed to keep her alive long enough to set up in this old DEO lab so that she could keep her from completely dying and how she's been working on the device ever since trying to save her life (and how she didn't know who to trust anymore which is why she didn't go back to the DEO and resorted to stealing the parts and stuff she needed). Afterwards Lena promises to help Alex however she can and they start working together to try to build the machine to basically bring Maggie back to life. So on one of her next runs Alex (as Vengeance) runs into Kara (as Supergirl) and they end up in a huge fight (partly because Kara's emotionally not doing very well) and Alex barely manages to grab the stuff she was after and teleport back to the lab without getting beaten to a pulp (because she doesn't actually want to hurt Kara so she's not really fighting at her best) and Lena offers to send a message to Kara (who she knows is Supergirl) telling her that she's safe and not to worry about her. Which Alex agrees to as long as they film and send the message from L-Corp so the DEO can't track them. Afterwards whenever Alex is out trying to get supplies Kara isn't trying quite as badly to kill her but she's still pretty pissed. Everything finally comes to a head when Alex has to try to steal the power source for the regeneration device and Kara ends up confronting her in the lab she's stealing from. Alex (who at this point is super tired of not being able to just tell her sister who she is) offers to show her what she's doing and after Kara leaves all her DEO equipment behind (cause Alex still doesn't trust them) she teleports her and Kara to her lab. Kara and Lena reunite and Kara gets confused when she realizes that Lena is working with Vengeance willingly. Which is when Alex finally reveals who she is and tells Kara the truth about what's been happening the last several months. Kara freaks out when she finds out about the mission and almost immediately speeds off to confront J'onn when Alex is done telling her what happened. This leads into the rest of the team (J'onn, Winn, James, M'gann, Lucy and Vasquez) ending up going with Kara to help Alex try to finish saving Maggie. Unfortunately the high up DEO people find out and end up sending the rest of the DEO out to hunt them down. Which leads into several huge conflicts as they try to keep them away from Alex and Lena while they finish up with the device to save Maggie. Despite several complications (including some issues with the surgery itself and the higher ups finding the lab and trying to kill Alex in the middle of the surgery) they manage to bring Maggie back (que Sanvers reunion) however the higher ups get away and continue to cause issues for the team. Finally, after several weeks of fighting with the DEO Kara gets into contact with Cat and (with J'onn's permission) has Cat Co publish an exposé about Vengeance which basically tells her tragic backstory (which wins over public opinion) while shedding light on the situation with the DEO, forcing them into the public's eye which forces them to stand down. Afterwards the DEO is disbanded and the President instead redirects the money into a "Superhero Fund" which basically gives the team a opportunity to work independently from the government while still being funded and in return they continued to deal with the alien issues that the DEO used to handle.

enchntedapril ha respondido a tu publicación “ur post about fic & racism in the supergirl fandom really got me...”
I get the parts about Jimmy vs Mon-El, but the rest? Not so much. Since when has Sanvers NOT been huge? I see tons and tons and TONS of Sanvers fics, and let's keep in mind that Alex is not the main character. I don't know what you're talking about re:Floriana being or not being white having anything to do with her popularity. In fact the only criticism I saw was, as you say, about Floriana not being ENOUGH of a WOC. Roulette fic? M'gann??? Seriously?
Why the heck would there be Roulette fics? Perhaps the reason has less to do with race and more to do with the fact that she was a relatively poorly written character in two measly episodes? Likewise, M'Gann was never a main character, and if anything, I would pair her with J'onn, but the fandom (at least as represented on AO3) seems much more devoted to wlw pairings.
Personally, I'm a huge Sanvers shipper, as well as Kara/Lena, Kara/Cat and canon endgame Kara/James. I'm not even sure why any of this is an argument. Pairings between characters who rarely have shared screen time are simply never going to be as popular as those that do.
Also, where is Maggie being demonized within the fandom?? Apparently I'm blissfully unaware...
Sooooooo lemme kick this off with a seemingly-unrelated story, since “well-meaning” skeptics like you are the reason I started doing all this data-tracking in the first place:
Several years ago I took my daughter on vacation to a country where I used to live, speak the language fluently, and racially blend in. We went out to dinner the first night and the waiter didn’t give me my change when I paid the bill, then seemed annoyed when I asked for my money. It was a holiday and busy, so I shrugged it off.
Except then it happened again the next morning at breakfast. And then again at lunch, where the waiter tried to give me the bill for another table that had ordered multiple bottles of alcohol and some seafood platters, when all I’d bought was two sandwiches and a Coke. At this point I was getting pissed off, because what the hell, I speak fucking Spanish and in ten years of traveling to this region I’d never had this happen before.
The next day, all of these mysterious “accidents” with trying to rip me off miraculously stopped. And when I figured out why, I got even more pissed off. Know what happened? My daughter had started wearing her sunglasses and people couldn’t see her eyes anymore. (She’s Asian. I’m not.)
Like. Whether it was malicious or not, people were straight-up ignoring my visibly local-ass face, hair, and accent like I wasn’t even there and fixating on the fact that my kid looked foreign, then treating us as they would have if she had been alone. That is how implicit racism works: there are always plenty of ~reasonable excuses~ for it when you’re not the one it’s happening to.
So congratulations, just because *you personally* don’t perceive fandom racism on your very narrowly-curated tumblr dashboard doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist -- or that you have any right to dismiss the hundreds of other people who see it for what it is.
Also, I am confused as to where you think anyone is arguing, or that this is even something to argue about. It is a fact that implicit racism affects fan behavior and preferences, just like it affects our behavior everywhere else. @diversehighfantasy made some excellent additions to my post with examples of how this behavior plays out across multiple fandoms in multiple ways. There is plenty of literature on this problem of racism by fans within the field of fan studies. None of this is an opinion. It’s a fact.
And the fact that you’re so quick to defend the disparity by a) scoffing off the idea that anyone might find Roulette shippable in the first place; b) suggesting that M’gann’s relative lack of screentime is the only factor explaining the general lack of interest in her; and c) throwing up “but everyone’s into femslash” as an excuse for the lack of black het pairings when I’ve spent the better part of a year and a half tracking this fandom and can tell you, with detailed references, that you are wrong ... says a whole lot about you, none of it flattering.
It also says that you don’t follow my tumblr, because I don’t write things I can’t back up. And thanks for telling me there’s lots of femslash like I don’t already know.
Let’s go through this step by step, shall we?
“I see tons and tons and TONS of Sanvers fics, and let's keep in mind that Alex is not the main character”
1) High five for your use of hyperbole, but here are the actual AO3 numbers from March:
Tumblr media
2) Despite how hard CW keeps trying to change this, Alex is still the co-lead of the show. She has the most screentime after Kara. The amount of fics featuring each of them as a romantic lead is roughly proportional to their levels of screentime. (49% less time vs. 44% less fic)
3) There was a mass migration of queer fans explicitly because of Alex’s coming out arc that inflated the interest in her character. How do I know this was an inflation? Because S1 fans did not move away from their old ships -- output for every other femslash ship has stayed consistent since S1 ended. (Supercat is at 1/2 scale so it fits on the graph.)
Tumblr media
“I don't know what you're talking about re:Floriana being or not being white having anything to do with her popularity.”
You say this like I didn’t explicitly note in my original post that I had the data to back myself up re: the drop in interest in Sanvers. Here you go:
Tumblr media
This graph is on a log scale, aka it’s showing growth exponentially so it’s easier to make comparisons and see trends. Sanvers, when it first appeared onscreen, had the quickest growth of any Supergirl ship to date. And yet, there’s a sharper-than-expected publication slowdown throughout November of 2016.
That’s because this appeared on October 26th:
Tumblr media
So, yes, the race/ethnicity clusterfuck did have something to do with the popularity of the ship. People backed off writing the pairing. I mean, I can explain further why the legitimate criticism from latina fans re: Kreisberg’s racist assumption was advantageous to racist people uncomfortable with Maggie’s clearly nonwhite skin color, but this post is long enough as it is. Moving on...
“Roulette fic? M'gann??? Seriously? Why the heck would there be Roulette fics?”
Gee, I don’t know, enchantedapril, maybe because there are published romantic and/or smutfics for all of the following:
Kara and Max Lord
Kara and Livewire
Kara and Silver Banshee
Alex and Max Lord
Alex and Silver Banshee
Alex and Cat Grant
Cat and Livewire
Cat and Astra
Lucy and Alura
J’onn and Jim Harper
J’onn and Clark
J’onn and Mon-El
Kara and Eliza
Kara and Non
Kara and Clark
Assorted threesomes of the above
Come on. Even your dismissiveness at the idea that people might see Roulette as desirable or interesting reeks of prejudice. And your incredulity over anyone thinking M’gann might be a ship-worthy partner is just gross. To put your comments into perspective: by 2x12, which aired in February, M’gann had racked up more screentime than Lena. And yet, by the end of January there were exactly four shipfics featuring M’gann on AO3 (zero of which included J’onn), compared against 1162 for Lena.
And to counter arguments about screentime proportions making a difference: Alex has had more scenes & time with M’gann than with Lena, yet there are 11 Alex/Lena fics and zero Alex/M’gann ones. There are also more femslash fics about Alex and her friend from high school than there are about Lena & Veronica Sinclair.
So, nice try.
“Pairings between characters who rarely have shared screen time are simply never going to be as popular as those that do.”
Ah, yes, and this is why Lucy Lane and Kara’s dead mother, who have never met onscreen, have more shipfics about them than multiple WOC from Season 2 who directly interact with main characters. This is why Karolsen flatlined for months, but Karamel took off like a rocket, and why there’s more fic of Winn & Mon-El than Winn & James. Like, if you’re going to make this basic argument, maybe crawl out of your Tumblr bubble a little more often, because multiple people in the fandom have started researching this shit specifically to refute people like you who insist that we’re exaggerating or imagining things. There is literally more shipfic on AO3 about Kara's terrorist uncle than there is about M’gann and anyone.
“Also, where is Maggie being demonized within the fandom??”
I don’t read a lot of Supercorp, which is where it tends to crop up most often, but here’s one example (in which the OP respectfully listened to people’s concerns and reworked their idea).
“Apparently I'm blissfully unaware...”
tl;dr: yay for being ignorant?
