Two new jabots listed on my Etsy store! Handmade by me, with adjustable neck bands, the black and gold is a vintage poly chiffon, with three layers of ruffles, and a nice dark gothic vibe. The black and white one is fully channeling Beetlejuice, and has an outlandish 4 layers of ruffles to really make a statement.

Robe en soie à rayures roses et grises; la jupe à godets est garnie au bord inférieur de volants étroits en même soie. Le corsage-veste Louis XVI est fait à basques, avec de grands revers ondulés, recouverts en soie rose, encadrant un gilet en soie rose brodé de perles; l'ouverture du gilet est comblée par une chemisette en mousseline de soie plissée, ornée d'un jabot en dentelle. Le col Médicis très haut, découpé en dents, est recouvert en soie rose et broderie de perles; les manches, bouffantes au bord supérieur, sont garnies au bord inférieur avec de la dentelle et des boutons d'émail; le corsage est orné de boutons d'émail.

Pink and gray striped silk dress; the gored skirt is trimmed at the lower edge with narrow flounces of the same silk. The Louis XVI bodice-jacket is made with basques, with large wavy lapels, covered in pink silk, framing a pink silk waistcoat embroidered with pearls; the opening of the waistcoat is filled with a pleated silk muslin chemisette, adorned with a lace jabot. The very high, tooth-cut Medici collar is covered in pink silk and beadwork; the sleeves, puffy at the upper edge, are trimmed at the lower edge with lace and enamel buttons; the bodice is adorned with enamel buttons.

Meg Giry jabot experiments. I want it to br a main feature on the jacket. As the jacket is fairly busy in pattern, the jabot needs a certain… bling… I think a third layer will be added on top. Maybe a bow, or a pink lace layer, or a brooch. To be continued…

Explications des gravures:

No. 1. — Toilette de visites pour jeune femme en cachemire drap gris nuée. Corsage froncé entrant à la taille sous une ceinture ronde en velours vert buis. Un autre ruban part du dessous de bras et vient se terminer sur la poitrine par un grand nœud. Boucle de strass. Bretelles sur les épaules en drap gris garni d'un dépassant de loutre. Col avec revers doublés de satin blanc. Jabot de dentelle.

Manches presque plates, tout unies. Chapeau genre capeline en feutre vert garni sur le devant de siz plumes noires disposées en panaches et sur le côté de cocardes en ruban de satin noir, fixées par des boucle de strass.

No. 1. — Visiting ensemble for a young woman in cloud gray cashmere cloth. Gathered bodice entering at the waist under a round belt in boxwood green velvet. Another ribbon starts from under the arm and ends on the chest with a large bow. Rhinestone buckle. Straps on the shoulders in gray cloth trimmed with an otter overhang. Collar with lapels lined with white satin. Lace jabot.

Almost flat sleeves, all plain. Wide-brimmed hat in green felt trimmed on the front with six black feathers arranged in plumes and on the side with black satin ribbon cockades, fastened with rhinestone buckles.

Matériaux: 6m,50 de cachemire drap. 8 mètres de doublure en 1 mètre.
