𝐂𝐔𝐃𝐃𝐋𝐄-𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊!
Tumblr media
pairings! steven hyde x fem reader
word count! 500
warnings! none pure fluff:)
a/n! this is so fucking short what. anyways. SHOCKER I DO WRITE FOR MORE THAN JESS AND NIKKI.
THE SUMMER AFTERNOONS were spent in Eric Forman's basement — shocker, shocker! Which was only a gateway to the rest of the gang making fun of you and your boyfriend, Steven Hyde. An excuse to getting out of school and staying right down where Red Forman vexed. He deemed the downstairs a 'fortress of evil' with all of the teens coming and going out of it. But then Eric turned it into the Dark Side from Stars Wars and started assigning everyone roles... that's when everyone made their way out of there.
Sadly enough, Steven Hyde resided there and you typically resided with him. So, the two of you were trapped in the basement where Eric was loudly watching A New Hope. That was until Hyde caught your attention from behind his sunglasses and motioned for you to follow him. You obliged when Leia showed up — knowing Eric would be too lost in Carrie Fischer to even notice your disappearance. So, when the Princess made her appearance you were out of there.
Half an hour later the two of you found yourselves cuddled up on his bed. Your back pressed into his chest, his arm wrapped around your body. You could feel Steven's breath against the nape of your neck as he dozed off to the sound of Clapton humming in the background. A book rested in your hands as you held it up, hoping to not squash it on the mattress. You could feel Steven’s hands moving which made a slight smile spread to your face. That was until his hand grabbed your wrist and tried to hold your hand — the one that held the book. The very good book.
“Hmph,” He groaned sleepily as he tried to shove the book out of your hand. “Steven, I’m almost done with this chapter. Hey-“ You were cut off by your boyfriend grabbing the book out of your hand. He simply tossed it across the room and dove into you. His mop of curls now rested on your chest as you rolled on your back. Your jaw was still dropped as your new book now on the floor across the room. “Dumbass!” Your hand slapped his head, his eyes opening in the process. “I had like one page left! You cuddle-freak!”
“Shut up.” He mumbled as you wrapped your arms around his back in surrender. Your relationship tended to work best when the both of you just shut your mouths. He groaned before tilting his head up at your annoyed face. “I love you.”
“Yeah well, fuck you.”
“Burn!” Kelso screamed from outside the door where he was spying… along with Donna, Jackie, and Fez. He immediately slammed his hand over his mouth while Donna shoved the poor guy. That was until Hyde exited the room, chasing the tall dumbass out of the basement.
“Hey where’d Hyde and Y/N go?” Eric noticed.

Note
You don't have to answer this if you're uncomfortable with it, but how do you think Jackie would react to being bullied or harassed by people because she's dating a girl?
cry a little bit, and then tell her dad she needs money for a hitman
if this is after her dad goes to jail tho, i think she'd be able to rally her friends to beat the shit out of whoever's harassing her for dating a girl. bc who are you to criticize jackie burkhart about anything ever??

My Idiot (Jay Kelso x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Reader is Hyde’s daughter and staying with the Formans while he’s in jail, the new generation has a sleepover at the Forman’s house and there’s only one bed for Jay and (Y/N)… Note: Jaya (JayxLeia) does not exist in this imagine
Word count: 1k
“Okay you guys,” Leia said with a deep breath, “Grandma and grandpa actually said you guys can stay the night, so we can’t screw this up. I’m staying in my dad’s old room and (Y/N) is staying in Aunt Laurie’s old room, as usual. Can you guys all find somewhere to sleep in the basement?”
“Sounds good to me,” Ozzie popped up.
“Nikki and I can take the couch,” Nate said.
“Yeah, that should work,” Gwen added, “it just sucks that Jay isn’t here.”
You nodded half heartedly. Your best friend - and crush - Jay Kelso was working a long night shift at the video store, and you were bummed that he was missing your first (and probably only, considering how Red Forman was) sleepover with the gang.
Almost like clockwork, the basement door opened.
“Hey guys!” A familiar voice spoke up. Jay’s voice. “They let me off early,” he said as his eyes briefly floated to where you were sitting on the floor, then shyly finding their way back to the rest of the group.
“Well shit,” Leia sighed, “I mean, we’re glad you’re here! But Red let us have a sleepover for once, and I don’t think there will be enough room in the basement for you…”
“Well that’s not convenient,” Jay said with a flat face, sheepishly sitting down next to you.
“Hold on you guys, I’ll be right back. I don’t imagine in a thousand years my grandpa would let you stay in my room, but I have a couch and (Y/N) doesn’t, and I don’t want to make her offer her bed to you if she isn’t okay with it.”
You shifted awkwardly, silently hoping you could share your bed with Jay. “I mean, I wouldn’t mind if we have to…” you trailed on quietly, Jay looking at you shyly, his cheeks noticeably heating up.
The rest of the group hadn’t heard you but Jay had sitting so close to you. “You sure?” he asked and you nodded, lacking the courage to look at him.
Leia ran upstairs and it only took a few seconds before you heard the booming sound of Red yelling.
“If that boy goes even close to your bedroom, my foot is going even closer to up his ass! Absolutely not!”
Leia hurried down the stairs with a defeated look on her face. “So that’s a no go. (Y/N), are you sure you’re ok with sharing a bed with Jay?”
You shrugged, now bright red. “Yeah, sure, I don’t mind.”
The seven of you spent the rest of the night together, laughing, watching My So Called Life, and getting high, before finally around midnight you all started to crash.
“Should we call it a night, you guys?” you asked through a yawn, anxious to spend the night with Jay.
“Sounds good to me.”
“Yep.”
“I’m tired.”
“Well, goodnight you guys,” Leia spoke, “see you all in the morning.” With that you, Leia, and Jay stumbled your way upstairs while the others stayed in the basement getting comfy.
You quickly brushed your teeth and got cleaned up for bed, putting on your favorite lacy nightgown, your heart beating out of your chest before you heard your name called from downstairs.
“Y/N! I need to talk to you!”
Shit. It was Red.
You made your way down the stairs, feigning sobriety, into the Forman living room.
“Yes Mr. Forman?”
“Sit down.”
“You know (Y/N), I remember your father sitting on this exact same couch when he was your age. He was a good kid, even with all the dope he did. He was nice to people.” Red sighed, “I remember that boy’s father too, and how he used to fool around with young girls like you, even my own daughter.”
“But Jay isn’t like-“
“I know, I know, that kid hardly knows his own father. But as you’ve been staying with Kitty and I, you’ve become like another grandkid to us. I always feared I’d be raising Steven’s kids…” he grumbled. “No funny business in there, okay? You’re better than to be screwing a Kelso. I know you think no one’s caught onto your little crush on this boy, but I’ve seen these things before. And if he so much as lays a finger on you, my foot will go so far up his ass he won’t even be able to feel his fingers!”
“We’ll be good,” you smiled, rolling your eyes. “Now goodnight.”
“Goodnight (Y/N).”
You hurried back up the stairs to find Jay already all cozied up in your bed.
“Hey.”
“Hi.”
His eyes scanned your body in awe and he hid a smile as you made your way into bed.
You both squirmed awkwardly for a little while, not talking, not looking at each other, and especially not touching.
“I’m sorry (Y/N), I’ll try to let you sleep. I know you didn’t really want me in here…”
“Wh-what do you mean?”
“I could tell you were uncomfortable in the basement and just trying to be nice. I can sleep in the living room if you wa-“
You shut him up by kissing him, to his surprise. Jay closed his eyes and let himself melt into the kiss. It was slow and sweet, innocent, loving.
“Of course I want you here. I was nervous because I have a crush on you, doofus.”
“Well you could’ve just said that,” he laughed. “But, uh, I’m glad you didn’t. I have a crush on you too. Have for a while,” he smirked, kissing you again.
You laughed as the kiss ended, rubbing noses together. “Go to bed, idiot.”
He cuddled his way into you, pulling you in by your waist and spooning you, nuzzling his face into your neck. “I may be an idiot, but I’m your idiot.”
You smiled, cheeks turning a baby pink, still not sure if this was all really happening. “Yeah, Jay, you’re my idiot.”

The Things You Give Pt. 34
We're almost to the end!! I'm so excited to share this chapter with you and all I've got to say is...muahahahaha!
I also want to apologize for the lack of posting on here. I've lost motivation these last year. We've gone through a lot personally but I really want to finish this and boy and boy am I glad I did! The motivation came back today as I put on That 70's Show and it feels soooo good! I'm probably going to let out a few more chapters at most because this story has gotten a lot longer than it was supposed to. But I hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think <3
Tumblr media
Y/n was panting and struggling to breathe properly as the contractions came on.
“Oh, my God. What should we do?” Jackie asked, almost panicking.
“We need to get her to the hospital!” Markus cried out and turned towards the stairs, suspecting that’s where Kitty or Red may be. “Mr. and Mrs. Forman?! We could really use your help!” A beat passed and he turned to his girlfriend. “Go find one of them. Now. And tell them Y/n is in labor.”
Jackie nodded and ran into the kitchen, calling for Kitty and Red.
Markus whipped back to Y/n who was struggling to breathe from the pain. “Y/n, breathe. It’s going to be okay.”
“I…want…Steven!” Y/n panted as she could barley form words.
“Here, hold on to my han—AAHHH!” Markus screamed as Y/n crushed his hand with hers. “Thank God we’re going to the hospital, right?” He chuckled through the pain. “Jackie! Where are you?!”
“Here!” she called, walking out from the kitchen with Kitty in tow.
“Y/n, honey, what’s going on?” Kitty asked, concerned.
“Her water broke and the contractions are already starting,” Markus explained as calmly as he could.
“Oh, my God, the babies are coming—Red!” Kitty called excitedly. “It’s time!”
“What?” Red asked as he stomped down the stairs, annoyed. “What are you yelling—Y/n, are you okay?”
“Red, she’s in labor!” Kitty explained. “Everyone, get in the car!”
“I’ll stay here and call Steven,” Jackie offered.
“Number to the venue is on the—” Y/n was cut off as another contraction hit her. “Counter,” she strained.
“No, no, no you’re not staying here with your boyfriend,” Red said. “I barley trust you kids in my house when my kids are home; I definitely don’t trust you by yourselves.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Forman. I’m not staying. I’m going to go to the venue and see if I can catch them,” Markus said.
“How do I know you’re not just saying that?” Red asked, skeptically.
At that moment, Y/n led out a frustrated and pained scream. “Can we finish this conversation later?!”
“She’s right. Let’s go, Red,” Kitty said, grabbing Y/n’s arm and gently guided her out the door.
“I’ll go call Steven. Markus, go to the venue,” Jackie ordered.
“Aye, aye, Captain Hottie,” he smirked before grabbing his keys and walked out.
                                                        ---
“Okay, Y/n breathe,” Kitty instructed as Red drove like a madman to the hospital.
Y/n was doing deep breaths to try and steady the pain. “This is a big one!”
“I know, but you can do it!” Kitty encouraged.
“Is Steven going to make it?” she asked through breaths.
“Oh, I’m sure he is,” Kitty assured. “Jackie is on it. Remember what she did at the wedding?”
Y/n nodded as the pain finally started to subside. “Yeah, she was awesome.” A beat passed before she spoke up again. “Don’t tell her I said that.” Pulsating pain came on as her stomach felt rock hard. “Here comes another one.”
“We’re almost there, honey,” Kitty said, rubbing her shoulder. “Red, step on it!”
                                               Meanwhile…
Loud rock music filled the air at the venue as the group jammed out from the crowd.
“This is the greatest day of my life!” Kelso shouted at his friends.
“Agreed!” Donna replied as Immigrant Song started.
“Hell yeah!” Eric whooped as he lit up a lighter.
“Play that funky music white boys!” Fez shouted excitedly.
Everyone was having the greatest time, except for Hyde. He would occasionally whoop and holler, but the thought of Y/n being home while he was out having fun didn't sit right with him. It wasn’t until the song ended and the band moved onto the next that he nudged Fez, getting his attention.
“Hey, man, I’ll be right back.”
“Sure!” Fez said, barley paying attention.
Hyde rolled his eyes at his friend before leaving the arena and walking to the recession stand.
“Hi, how can I help you?” the young blonde woman asked as he approached her.
“Can I use your phone?”
“Absolutely,” she chirped and brought the phone out from beside the register. “Just dial 9 first.”
“Thanks,” he muttered and dialed the house number. It rang three times before someone picked up.
“Hello? Steven?”
“Jackie?” Hyde asked, scrunching his face. “What’re you doing at the house? Where’s Y/n?”
“Markus and I came over to be with Y/n to keep her company while you guys were gone,” she explained.
“Oh. Well, where is she? I want to talk to her.”
“Yeah…sorry, you can’t.”
“What? Why?”
“Because she isn’t here,” she replied.
Steven sighed, starting to feel irritated. “Where is she then?”
“At the hospital.”
“What?!” he almost yelled. “Why didn’t you lead with that? Is she in labor?!”
“Yes, she’s on the way. I stayed behind in case you called. If you leave now you might be able to meet her there.”
The phone almost slipped out his hand. “Oh, my God…”
“Steven…are you okay?”
“I’m on my way. Tell her to try to not have the babies until I get there!” He hung up the phone before she could answer and ran back into the arena where his friends were.
“Hey, man, where’d you go?” Eric asked while keeping his eye on the band.
“Y/n’s in labor!” Steven shouted.
Eric snapped his head towards his friend with wide eyes. “WHAT?!”
“Yeah, man, we gotta go!”
“Yeah, okay,” Eric said, nodding frantically and turned to Donna. “We gotta go!”
“What? Why?” she asked, smiling and hooting.
“Because Y/n is in labor!”
Her smile quickly disappeared as her attention snapped from the band to her boyfriend and friend. “WHAT?!”
“We’ve gotta go! She’s on her way to the hospital right now!” Hyde said.
“Right, okay,” Donna said, almost in a panic and turned to the boys. “Guys, Y/n’s in labor!”
“What?” Kelso shouted back. “Y/n’s the neighbor?”
“No, you dunce! Y/n’s in labor!” she repeated.
“Y/n’s the greater?” Kelso asked, even more confused. “Speak English, Donna, you’re not making any sense.”
“Y/N IS IN LABOR, YOU FOOL!” Fez screamed.
“Oh, my God!” Kelso shouted.
“Yeah, so we need to go,” Donna responded and grabbed him by the elbow.
“Wait, we’re all gonna go?” he questioned and dug his heels into the ground. “What about the concert?”
“Forget the concert, man, my wife is in labor!”
“Why? She’s not my wife,” Kelso argued.
Hyde’s jaw clenched and his fists balled up, dying to hit Kelso. “You know what? I don’t have time for this. If you want to stay, fine, but I’m leaving your ass here and you can find a ride home.”
Kelso laughed. “You’re not going to do that.”
“You wanna bet?”
“But they’re in the middle of a song!” he whined.
“You wanna walk home?” Hyde threatened.
Kelso groaned before stomping his foot. “Fine!”
                                                        ∞∞∞
“Alright, Mrs. Hyde,” Dr. Lee said, pulling back the privacy curtain as Y/n laid in the hospital bed. “You’re dilated two centimeters. Now this is your first childbirth so you could be here a while. We’ll keep monitoring you.”
“Thank you, Doctor,” Y/n said. “Can I have something to drink?”
“Just ice chips,” the doctor said with a sympathetic smile.
“Okay,” she sighed, disappointed.
“I’ll be back in a little while to check on you,” she said and exited the room.
“Well, this could take a while,” Kitty said and started fluffing Y/n’s pillow. “Did you want some ice chips?”
“That would be nice,” Y/n responded. “Thank you.”
“Of course. Red stay here with her while I go get her ice chips.”
“Where else am I gonna go?” Red asked with a shrug of his shoulders. Once Kitty left the room, it was silent.
“So,” Red said, breaking the silence and sighed awkwardly. “Do the contractions really hurt as much as they say?”
Y/n stared up at her father with a confused and bewildered look. “I don’t know. Have someone kick your boys multiple times and harder each time and then come back and tell me.”
Red couldn’t help but chuckle. After another minute of silence, Y/n spoke up.
“Dad?”
“Mhm?”
“Were you scared when Mom went into labor?”
A small smile graced his lips and he nodded. “Yeah, I was. But let me tell you the moment I held you and your brother in my arms, that fear melted away.”
“So, the minute I hold my children, my fears are going to melt away forever?”
“Oh, hell no,” Red chuckled, shaking his head. “The fear never goes away. Everyday a new fear will strike in you and you’re going to have to find some way to battle that one among the others. It’s a never ending cycle.”
“Oh my God…how do you sleep at night?”
“I just close my eyes,” he quips and rocks on his heels. “But your mother…not so much. She worries for you guys constantly.”
Y/n looked down at her hands. “I didn’t know that.”
“Of course you didn’t. The last thing she wants is to make you guys worry because all she wants is for you to worry about yourselves.”
“But that’s not how that works,” she argued. “We’re a family we do that for each other.”
“Not in a parent’s eyes,” he responded cooly and started heading out the door. “I’m going to call your idiot brother and see if he’s at the house.”
Y/n nodded at him as he walked out the door. As soon as the door clicked shut, another contraction shot through her, catching her breath in her throat. She breathed through the pain, and what felt like minutes but only seconds, it subsided as soon as Kitty walked back through the door.
“Here you go, dear,” Kitty said.
“Thanks, Mom,” Y/n replied breathlessly as her head fell back against the pillow.
                                                --Meanwhile--
“Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, COME ON!” Hyde shouted as he dodged traffic and weaved through traffic like a madman.
“Hyde, slow down!” Eric tried to hide his panic as he white knuckled the door handle and middle console. “I know we’re going to the hospital anyway, but let’s try to get there alive!”
“Have you guys ever noticed people in this town drive so damn SLOW?!” He honked his horn impatiently. “Move over, Grandma!”
“Hyde, please, I don’t want to die,” Fez whined from the back as he clutched the back door and Kelso’s arm.
“Shut up, Fez,” Hyde snapped as he desperately hit the gas more. “DAMN IT!” he shouted when he hit a red light.
“Hyde, man, it’s alright. You’re going to make it in time,” Eric said, trying to calm him down.
“No, Forman, it’s not going to be alright if I’m not there!” he raised his voice and punched the gas as soon as the light turned green.
“Don’t worry, you’re going to make it,” Donna said.
“No, you guys don’t get it,” Hyde replied, forcing himself to stay calm. “My dad wasn’t there when I was born and I’ll be damned if I do the same to my kids.”
“You’re not your dad, man…” Kelso said quietly.
“You’re right I’m not,” Hyde responded, staring intently at the road. “I’m going to be better.”
“And you are, but you need to—RED LIGHT!” Eric shouted as Hyde sped through.
“Relax, it’s not like we hit anybody,” Hyde said, hard gaze on the road.
“Um, Hyde?” Fez piped up, looking out the back window nervously.
“You’re going to kill us!” Eric screeched.
“No, I’m not!”
“Hyde?” Fez said again, this time a little louder.
“It’s going to be no use if we don’t make it alive!” Eric shouted.
“Will you lay off?!” Hyde shouted back, white knuckling the steering wheel. “We’re going to be fine.”
“HYDE!” Fez shouted sharply.
“What?!” Hyde snapped.
“Um…” he responded by pointing out the back window.
Hyde followed his line of sight and saw blue and red flashing behind them. “Crap.”
                                                --Time Skip—
Y/n was doing deep breathing exercises as another contraction waved through her. At this point, sweat had formed on her hairline while her hair had been pulled back into a messy ponytail by Kitty.
The pain radiated through her back down to her legs as she felt like daggers were racing through her bloodstream.
“Just keep breathing, honey, you’re doing great!” Kitty encouraged as Y/n struggled to keep breathing. She held her daughter’s hand as Y/n squeezed it through the pain.
“It...hurts…!” she whined as she breathed through the pain.
“I know, honey, but it’s going to be so worth it when you get to hold your babies for the first time,” Kitty cooed.
Finally, the contraction ended and Y/n laid her head back in exhaustion, panting. “Has anyone heard from Steven?”
“When I called the house, your little loud friend answered and said she had spoken to him and he was on the way,” Red answered and checked his watch. “But then again, that was almost two and half hours ago.”
“The concert was only forty-five minutes away,” Y/n pointed out. “An hour and a half at most with traffic.” She was silent for a moment, fighting back tears. “I knew he cared more about the stupid concert than me.”
“Oh, honey, you know that’s not true,” Kitty said, rubbing her daughter’s covered leg in comfort.
“No, it is, otherwise he would be here!” she wailed, tears running down her face. “I’m about to push two babies out of me and he’s not here! I’ve never been in so much pain in my entire life and I just want my husband!”
“I know, sweetie, I know, but he’ll be here,” Kitty reassured and walked over to her husband. “Can I talk to you outside?”
“About what?” he asked.
“Just get outside,” she responded and pushed him out. After she shut the door, she turned back to him. “You need to find him.”
“Why? I’m sure he’s on the way,” Red said casually and walked over to the nearest coffee station.
“The last time a big event happened, Steven almost didn’t make it!” she said harshly. “He was in jail, Red, jail!”
“What do you want me to do about it?”
“Go back to the house and find him!”
“Kitty, if he’s not here, he’s not going to be at the house,” he pointed out, pouring himself a cup of coffee.
“What if he stopped by the house?”
“Now, why would he do that?”
“I don’t know, why did the boy go to a concert when he knows his wife’s about to pop? We’ll never know why the kids do what they do, but what I know for sure is that something is wrong!”
“Oh, Kitty, come on!” Red whined. “I’m sure Steven is fine. He’s probably stuck in traffic or something.”
                                       --Scene Transition—
“Officer, I’m telling you, I’m not drunk!” Hyde yelled.
The scene in front of him would’ve been quite comedic if he hadn’t been the one in the position. He was leaned forward on the hood with his hands splayed out and legs spread as he was being searched.
“With the way you were driving, I beg to differ,” the officer replied as he carefully searched Hyde.
“The breathalyzer said I wasn’t!” he argued. “Why are you still searching me? I need to get to the hospital! My wife is in labor!”
“Yeah, I haven’t heard that one before,” the cop scoffed as he stood.
“Man, I’m serious! If you follow me, I’ll show you I’m telling the truth!”
“I’m not falling for that one again.”
“What? No, man, I’m serious!”
“You know everything you say can and will be held against you in the court of law,” the officer said.
“Okay, well then get this on record: I. NEED. TO. GET. TO. MY. WIFE. She is in labor and I really need to be there!”
“Shut up or else I will arrest you.”
Steven sighed, frustrated. “For God’s sake.”
While this was happening, the rest of the crew sat silently and rigid in the car. They felt with one wrong move, they would be arrested.
“Do you think he’s going to be let go?” Fez asked.
“If he shuts up and lets the man do his job, the maybe,” Kelso said.
“Hey, wait, you used to be a cop,” Eric pointed out. “Can’t you do something?”
“I doubt it,” Kelso responded, not taking his eyes off the cop. “As long as Hyde shuts up, he should be fine.”
“I hope you’re right. It would be awful if he missed the birth of his children like how he almost his own wedding,” Donna said, staring at Hyde as he stood still as a statue.
“Yeah, that would be,” Kelso mumbled.
Meanwhile outside, Hyde was ready to jump out of skin as he waited for the cop to finish up the report. The cop purposely was taking his time which made Hyde want to twist his neck even more.
“Can I go now?” he asked.
“I need to still check the car.”
“You checked it twice!”
“Once more never killed anybody.”
“Come on!” Hyde shouted as he watched the cop reach into the glove compartment to grab some gloves. “I’ve done everything you asked and you’re still going to hold me here? What more do you want?”
“I just love watching people like you squirm,” the cop said smugly as he snapped on the latex gloves.
“People like me? Man, I’m telling the truth!” Hyde shouted. “I’m not drunk and I’m not high! There’s nothing in my car! I don’t know what the hell you’re looking for, but you’re not going to find it!”
The cop smirked. “We’ll see about that.”
A car rumbled by across the street before it stopped and parked. Steven eyed the cop as he watched him kick his friends out and search the car again.
“Steven?!”
Hyde’s head snapped to the sound of his name and watched as Red crossed the street towards him.
“Red?” Hyde called out. “What’re you doing here?”
“What am I doing here? What are you doing here?!” Red asked, now feeling frustrated. “Do you know Kitty made me leave the hospital to drive back home to find you, only to find out that you’ve been pulled over the side of the road?!” He stood directly in front of Steven as he also watched the cop search the car. “Why were you pulled over this time?”
“Speeding.”
“And he’s searching the car because...?”
“He’s sure I’m under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
Red pinched his eyebrows together and looked at Steven. “Were you breathalyzed?”
“Yes.”
“And searched?”
“Three times.”
“You don’t got that dope on you, do you?”
Steven rubbed his forehead, trying to control his irritation. “No.”
“Then why are you still here?!”
“That’s a good question. Ask the man in blue.”
Without hesitation, Red darted towards the police officer. “Hey, buddy! What the hell are you doing?!”
“Sir, I’m going to need you to back up while I conduct my search—”
“To hell with your damn search!” Red yelled. “You found nothing, now let him go! His wife, my daughter, is at the hospital about to give birth!”
“Oh, now he’s got you covering him?” the cops asked smugly. “I’m not buying it and this can be held against you—”
“Do I need to call Chief Calvin?” Red interrupted with fire in his eyes. “Do I need to tell him that you are looking to book my son-in-law?”
“How do you know—?”
“I’ve got
“You can if you want,” the cop said. “I’m just doing my job.”
“No, you’re not. You’re being a prick who is on a power trip. I’ll tell you what, you give him the speeding ticket and I won’t report your ass to the chief for trying to find false evidence.”
An annoyed, angry look crossed over the officer’s face before he snapped off his gloves. “Fine.”
“Thank you, officer,” Red said sickly sweet.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” he mumbled as he walked back to the cop car.
Once the officer was out of earshot, Hyde turned to Red. “You really know that Chief like that?”
“Please,” he scoffed. “I had you and my son to deal with. You didn’t think I wasn’t going to get to be on a first name basis with the P.D?”
                                             --Meanwhile—
“WHERE. IS. HE?!” Y/n screamed through contractions.
“I don’t know, sweetie. Your dad is out looking for him,” Kitty responded, wiping away sweat off her daughter’s forehead.
This caused Y/n to scream out more in frustration than in pain when another contraction hit. “SON OF A BITCH!”
A knock on the door barley made their attention when Dr. Lee popped in. “How are we doing?”
“I need drugs!” Y/n screamed.
“Let me see how dilated you are,” Dr. Lee responded and popped on some gloves. After she felt around, she came up from between Y/n’s legs and sighed contently. “4 centimeters—looks like you’re dilated enough.”
“Oh, thank God,” Y/n sighed and leaned her head back.
“You know, you do qualify for this new drug we have. It’s called an epidural anesthesia. It’s going to numb you from the waist down and you won’t be able to feel anything.”
“Do it.”
“You don’t want to hear the possible side--"
"Damn it, woman, do it!" Y/n cried out in discomfort. “It feels like these kids are going to rip me in half!”
Dr. Lee chuckled before nodding. “I’ll be right back with the anesthesiologist.”
“Wow, fancy,” Kitty said, impressed. “When I gave birth to all three of you, I didn’t get that special treatment.”
“Times have changed, Mom,” Y/n responded dully.
“Excuse me, miss grumpy pants,” Kitty sassed as she situated herself in the chair next to the bed.
“Sorry,” Y/n mumbled and stared at the ceiling in silence.
“He’ll make it,” Kitty said after a minute.
“I appreciate the sentiment, but I don’t know right now. He was arrested and almost didn’t make it to our wedding, so I’m not sure if he’ll make it here on time to witness the birth of his children.”
“Oh, Dear, that’s just the hormones talking. I know Steven is just anxious to be here.”
                                          --Meanwhile—
“For the love of GOD, people, move your asses!” Hyde yelled at the traffic ahead of him. “Why is it even this crowded? Where are all these people coming from?!”
“Um, probably from the concert,” Donna piped up.
“The whole town went to the concert?!”
“I mean, we’re not the only ones who listen to them, but whatever,” Eric mumbled.
Hyde ignored them as another growl bubbled up from his throat as traffic began to slow down again. “Friggin’ slow asses, move!” He honked his horn and swerved in the other lane to pass someone.
“That was a student driver,” Eric said.
“Yeah, and I felt the same way when I passed that old lady earlier—nothing,” Hyde retorted as he got off the highway. “Doesn’t matter anyway, we’re almost there.”
“Pretty sure at this rate we’ll be there in five minutes instead of twenty,” Fez said nervously, gripping the door handle with white knuckles.
“Yeah, I think I felt safer when we were pulled over,” Kelso said and quickly averted Hyde’s icy glare through the rearview mirror. “I’ll shut up now.”
“Good plan,” Hyde responded. “Now, hang onto your asses. This is going to be a fast ride.”
                                           --At the hospital—
“Hey, Mom, look,” Y/n said, calm and happy and pointed at the machine that was monitoring her contractions. “I’m having a contraction. Who knew?”
“Are you feeling better now that you got the epidural?” Kitty asked, relieved to see her daughter out of pain.
Y/n giggled. “It’s almost like—childbirth, who? Pushing out two babies, say what?”
Kitty smiled. “Glad to hear it, dear.”
“Alright, Mrs. Hyde, after checking your dilation, it looks like you’re now at eight centimeters,” Dr. Lee informed.
“Whoa, man, I’m so numb I didn’t even feel you down there,” Y/n chuckled.
“Y/n, honey, did you hear the doctor?” Kitty asked, grabbing her daughter’s hand. “You’re eight centimeters. There’s only two centimeters left until you need to start pushing.”
Y/n’s eyes bugged out at the sudden realization. “What?! But-but Steven isn’t here yet!”
“Unfortunately, that doesn’t matter to babies coming out of a womb,” Kitty explained gently.
“No, no, no they have to stay in there until he’s here!” Y/n panicked. “Damn it, I knew he shouldn’t have gone!”
 Dr. Lee took this as her cue to leave. “I’ll be back later to check on you.”
After Dr. Lee left, Y/n turned to Kitty with tears in her eyes. “Mom, I can’t do this alone.”
“Oh, honey, you’re not going to be alone. I’ll be here.”
“You promise?”
Kitty smoothed down her daughter’s sweaty, matted hair. “Of course. I love you.”
“I love you, too.” She wrapped her arms around her mother as she felt an ounce of comfort. When she pulled away, she looked her in the eyes. “Just…don’t look at me. You know, down there.”
“Honey, I’m a nurse. I see this on a daily basis!” Kitty laughed. “And not to mention you, too, came out of me!”
“Ugh, God, MOM!”
                                                  Now…
“Finally! Land!” Eric bellowed as he stumbled out of the now parked car with wobbly legs. “Thank you, God, we’re alive!” He clutched his chest, breathing heavily, and looked up at the sky. “God, I know you and I don’t talk a lot, but thank you for not killing us.”
“Forman, get off the ground,” Hyde ordered. “You’re embarrassing me.”
“I’m just…so happy,” Eric whined, but kept his hand on his chest.
“Come on, hurry!” Red barked. “Those babies aren’t going to wait much longer for them to be born!”
“You’re right,” Hyde said and clapped a hand onto Red’s shoulder. “I’m gonna go have my babies!”
He heard the cheers coming from his friends behind him as he ran into the hospital, heart pounding from the adrenaline.
Eric turned to Donna after they watched their friend disappear into the hospital. “Hey, Donna?”
“Yeah, Eric?”
“Which arm hurts when you’re having a heart attack?”
“Your left one.”
“Oh,” he sighed and cracked a nervous smile. “It’s a good thing we’re at a hospital, huh?”
                                  --Five minutes later—
“Alright, Mrs. Hyde, looks like you’re at ten centimeters,” Dr. Lee said., situating herself between Y/n's legs that were up in the stirrups. “It’s time to start pushing. Are you feeling any pain?”
Y/n shook her head nervously. “Just a lot of pressure.”
“Good. Are you ready?”
Y/n grabbed her mother’s hand as Kitty helped her sit up. “You got this, honey.”
“And…push!” the doctor said, but was quickly interrupted as the door swung open, startling her.
“I’m here! I’m so sorry, but I’m here!” Steven said, out of breath.
“Steven, you’re here!” Y/n said, relief flooding over her, which soon was quickly replaced with anger. “Where the HELL have you been?!”
“I’m so sorry, Doll,” he said and kissed her forehead. “It’s a long story, but traffic was horrible and then I got pulled over until Red found me—”
“What?!” Y/n shouted.
“Mr. Hyde, I’m so glad that you’re able to join us, but Mrs. Hyde is going to have to start pushing now,” said Dr. Lee.
“Oh, my God,” Hyde said nervously and slipped his hand into his wife’s. “You got this, baby.”
“Since you’re here, I’ll let myself out,” Kitty said.
“Wait, no, Mom,” Y/n called out, stopping her. “Y-you don’t have to go. You can stay here if you want.”
Kitty gave her a gentle smile and kissed her cheek. “Sweet girl. It’s okay, you don’t need me.”
“I’ll always need you,” her voice cracked and eyes filled with tears. “Mommy, I’m scared.”
“You’ll be just fine. In a moment like this, you need your husband, not your mother, who I am so glad is finally here. I’ll be right outside, okay?”
Y/n nodded and wiped at her eyes. “Okay.”
“Okay. Besides, I need to talk to your father and see what happened with Steven getting pulled over.” She blew a kiss to her daughter and son-in-law as she walked out the room.
“Alright, Mrs. Hyde, I need you to push for me like you’re using the toilet. Can you do that for me?”
Y/n sat herself up while still gripping onto Steven’s hand and pushed as hard as she could.
“Good job! I’m seeing a head!” the doctor announced.
“Come on, baby, you got this!” Hyde encouraged.
“Okay, now stop,” Dr. Lee ordered. “Breathe, take a ten second break. We’re going to do this slowly. We don’t want any tears.”
Y/n nodded once again and leaned back. She looked up to her husband who was staring down on her lovingly. “I’m glad you’re here.”
“Me too,” he responded. “I’m sorry I’m late.”
She caressed his face. “You’re here now. That’s all that matters.”
“Let’s start pushing again,” Dr. Lee said and placed her hands on Elena’s knees. “And…go!”
Elena sat up with Hyde’s help and started pushing again. Grunting, she felt pressure building up even more as if she really was using the toilet. “Oh, my God!”
“You’re doing it! Good girl!” the doctor encouraged.
“Breathe, baby doll, breathe,” Hyde said gently as he moved hair out of her face.
She let out long breaths to ease the pressure, but it wasn’t helping much.
“Oh, my God, my ass is going to explode!” she screamed.
“No, it’s not, you’re doing so well!” Hyde encouraged.
“Dad, I’m going to need you to hold her leg up for me,” instructed the doctor.
Without a word, Hyde reached down and placed a gentle under her knee, lifting it upwards.
“Much better,” said Dr. Lee. “You’re doing well, Y/n! Just keep pushing!”
Y/n squeezed Hyde’s hand so hard he swore she was going to cut off his fingers, but he didn’t care and in fact, almost completely forgot about it when he heard the doctor yell, “Baby number one’s head is out! Now, Y/n, I’m going to need you to give me one big push for the shoulders, okay?”
Y/n nodded, breathing heavily and leaned against her husband.
“You got this,” Hyde said in her ear as he supported her back.
She grunted and groaned as she pushed as hard as she could.
“Push, baby, push!” Hyde said, almost excitedly.
“Almost there!” Dr. Lee announced.
Y/n took in a deep breath before doing the biggest push she could muster.
“Shoulders are out!” said the doctor before she gently pulled the baby out.
                           And then, there was crying.
“Congratulations, it’s a boy!” announced the doctor.
“Oh, my God!” Y/n cried as she saw her son for the first time.
“It’s a boy,” Hyde said breathlessly. It took everything in him not to allow any tears surface.
“We have a boy, Steven,” Y/n wept as she watched the nurse take him from the doctor. “Where’d he go?”
“They’re just taking him to get him cleaned up,” Steven said, his eyes watery.
“He’s so tiny,” she whispered and looked up at Steven.
“He’s perfect,” he responded and kissed her gently.
“Y/n, it looks like baby number two is ready to come out,” Dr. Lee said.
“Ugh, I already had a baby. Leave me alone,” Y/n groaned. “Can’t I take a break?”
“Sorry, not with this little one. They’re coming sooner than you think!” answered the doctor and sat between her legs again. “Ready?”
“Not really…”
“Good, because they’re coming!”
Y/n didn’t get a chance to even breathe before she felt a tremendous amount of pressure passing through her. She gasped before grabbing onto Hyde’s neck and digging her nails into his flesh.
“Ow, ow, ow, Y/n, ow!”
“So-sorry,” she stuttered, breathless and let go.
“Here, grab my hand instead,” he said, offering his hand.
She grabbed his hand again and squeezed.
“Alright, Mr. Hyde, just like last time, go ahead and grab Mom’s leg and hold it up for me,” Dr. Lee instructed again.
He repeated the motion from before and gently lifted her leg up.
“Perfect,” Dr. Lee said, encouragingly. “Annnnd push!”
One more deep breathe and Y/n pushed harder than she had pushed before.
“Wait, wait, wait, stop pushing,” the doctor said suddenly.
“What, why?!” Y/n asked, panting.
Hyde step forward to take a look. “Oh, God! What the hell is that?!”
“Don’t say that! What is what?!” Y/n screeched.
“It’s the baby’s feet. They’re breeched,” the doctor said.
“Oh, my God. Are they going to be okay?!” Y/n asked, panicking.
“They’re going to be fine. But I’m going to need you to push even harder now.”
“No, I can’t! I can’t do this anymore.”
“Yes, you can,” Hyde said. “You’re stronger than you know. You always have been. You can do this, Y/n”
“No, no I can’t!” She turned back to the doctor. “Can’t you just reach up there and pull the baby out?!”
“Not unless you want a C-section, you’re going to need to do this,” said Dr. Lee.
Y/n leaned back, crying. “I can’t—I don’t have it in me!”
“Hey, hey, look at me,” Steven said, gently. She looked at her husband, teary eyed. “Just think—this baby will be out and then it’ll be over. You just gotta get through this, okay? You can bring our son or daughter and this will be over. Okay? I love you so much, you can do this.”
“I love you, too,” she whimpered and sat up.
“Push like you haven’t pooped in a week,” Dr. Lee instructed gently.
“It feels like I haven’t!” Y/n screamed as she felt the pressure rise.
“There we go!” the doctor said excitedly. “Both feet are out! Here come the legs!”
“You’re doing amazing, doll, keep going!” Hyde encouraged.
Y/n took another breath before pushing the hardest she could. She started to feel some relief from the pressure the more she pushed.
“Here she comes!” Dr. Lee announced.
Hyde’s gaze snapped to the doctor. “It’s a girl?!”
Dr. Lee looked back at him with a soft gaze and a smile. "Yeah, it's a girl."
“Oh, my God,” Hyde said, this time his voice cracking from emotion. “Baby, we have a daughter."
"One of each," Y/n choked back a sob.
"Give me one last big push!” said the doctor.
With a final push, the pressure finally alleviated and soon, the sound of a crying baby filled the room.
“Here she is!” the doctor held up the baby as she continued to cry.
“She’s beautiful,” Y/n said in awe, feeling emotional. She wept as she watched her daughter being taken away for cleanup.
“Just like her mom,” Hyde said teary eyed and looked at his wife. “You did great, Doll. I’m so proud of you.”
The adrenaline that was once pumping through Y/n’s veins was now fading and she could now start to feel the exhaustion take over. “I couldn’t have done this without you.” She reached a hand up and gently wiped a stray tear.
He leaned down and gave her a gentle, passionate kiss.
“Good job, Mom and Dad,” Dr. Lee said with a smile. “Mrs. Hyde, we’re just going to stitch you up—”
“Steven…” Y/n whimpered, her eyelids getting heavier. “’M tired. S’ tired.”
“Uh, doc? Is she supposed to be feeling this tired? She can’t keep her eyes opened—”
The heart rate monitors suddenly start screaming.
“Someone get the babies out of here!” Dr. Lee ordered. “Mr. Hyde, I’m going to need you to step out the room.”
“What’s going on?!” Hyde demanded and looked down to Y/n who was barley conscious.
“She’s hemorrhaging and it’s causing her blood pressure to drop. She’s going into shock.”
“What?!” Steven shouted as he started to be pushed out. “Wait! Wait! Y/n!”
Everything happened so fast, the last thing Hyde saw was his wife being surrounded by nurses and doctors as he was shoved out the room, and the door slammed in his face.

get him back! - Steven Hyde x Reader
A/N: first time writing for That 70s Show! This is based on Season 1, and inspired by the new song, ‘get him back!’ by Olivia Rodrigo. I heard the lyrics and thought immediately of Hyde. Hope you love this, and let me know what you think. DISCLAIMER, I DO NOT SUPPORT DANNY MASTERSON, I AM WRITING FOR THE CHARACTER HYDE ONLY!!!
Summary: you decide you want to get your ex back….just in a more ‘sinister’ way
Pairing: Steven Hyde x Reader
Word Counter: 3,512
Warnings: angst, slow burn, cursing, toxic relationship (pls don’t think this is healthy lol), lotsss of arguing, mentions of sex, harassment, alcohol
~~~~~~~~
I met a guy in the summer, and I left him in the spring
He argued with me about everything
He had an ego and a temper and a wandering eye
He said he's six-foot-two, and I'm like, "Dude, nice try"
You were introduced to the gang in the summer by Donna. You had been talking to her throughout sophomore year, and she decided you would be a perfect fit for the group.
Everyone was kind of weird, but you found it fun and loved how things were always different with them, especially when it came to Steven Hyde.
You had always thought he was cute, even before officially meeting him. His curly hair was something you wanted to touch and play with, and his eyes hidden behind sunglasses made him seem mysterious. Not to mention, who doesn't love a ‘fuck the patriarchy’ kind of attitude.
So, despite it taking a while to happen, you both eventually started dating at the beginning of the new year. And it was a complete trainwreck.
Hyde was the worst boyfriend at times. He never wanted to do the things you wanted, he would show up late to pick you up, and sometimes it felt like you were just convenient eye candy.
What made it worse? It was clear he had a thing for Donna, despite her and Eric wanting to be together.
After a month, others started to notice.
You were in the basement with Eric, working on a school project when Donna walked in.
"Hey, y/n, can we talk?" Donna asked as she sat on the couch.
"Well, we are kind of busy," Eric started before you interrupted with, "Yeah, sure."
Eric looked taken aback but put his book down anyway and sat back. "Right, it's not like we need to do schoolwork. Who needs education?"
"Eric, shut up," Donna rolled her eyes. "Look, we need to talk about you and Hyde... I don't know if you should keep going out with him."
There was an awkward silence before Eric got up. "I'm gonna... go anywhere but here," he said before rushing up the steps.
"What are you talking about?" You sighed, putting down your own books.
"He treats you like crap! I was at The Hub yesterday, and he showed up. I asked if you were with him, and all he had to say was, 'No,' and I know for a fact you were excited to have a movie night with him last night. You don't deserve to be treated like that!" Donna insisted.
You hesitated for a moment. That's where he was. It was bad enough he never showed up for your date at the theater, but the idea that he was with Donna instead made it even worse. You ended up drowning your feelings in buttered-up popcorn and the movie "Fun with Dick and Jane."
Most of the time when he wanted to hang out, he would drag you out to multiple parties and any club he could sneak you both into. If it was something you wanted to do, like a movie night, you would find yourself alone.
You shrugged it off, telling Donna, "Oh no. We actually canceled it. I wanted some alone time."
Donna saw through your excuse and tried to argue with you, but that day you insisted on moving on.
It didn't get better. You had more interactions similar to it, not only with Donna but soon with Eric, Jackie, and even Fez, all within the same week.
He said I was the only girl, but that just wasn't the truth
And when I told him how he hurt me, he'd tell me I was trippin'
But I am my father's daughter, so maybe I could fix him
"Hyde, can we talk?" You asked softly as he flipped through a magazine next to you on the bed.
"What about?" He mumbled, not really paying attention to you. Not like he had been for the entire two hours you'd been at his house.
"Hyde, you stood me up last week. Can you put down the magazine?"
Hyde huffed and threw it down, saying, "There. What?"
You took a deep breath and sat up on his bed. "Look, I know you're not always the most romantic or anything, and I'm not trying to demand too much, but can we agree that if we set a date, you'll show up to it? It's really embarrassing for me, and others notice-"
"It's none of their business. Since when did you care what the others think?" Hyde questioned, his eyes narrowing at you behind his dark-tinted sunglasses. Despite wearing them, you always could tell his expression behind them.
"Well, I care when I get told by everyone that you treat me like shit," you stated in a point-blank manner.
Hyde chuckled a little, as if you were stating lies that were barely grazing his tough, shielded skin. "I don't treat you like shit."
"You ditched me last week! I think I have a right to want to talk about it, instead of you grunting your way through it like a caveman," you defended, glaring at the man in front of you.
Hyde was pissed. You always let him off the hook, and the one time you tried to talk about it, he was acting like you were the bad guy.
"I'm not grunting! You're making a big deal out of nothing. This is why guys are better off being single. Girls make everything so complicated," Hyde snapped.
You were shocked he suggested the idea of it, but why should you be? It makes sense, doesn't it? The reason Hyde is a horrible boyfriend is that he doesn't want to be your boyfriend.
"Really? You mean that?" You whispered. "Then let's make it easier for you. We're over."
"Y/n, hold on-"
Before he could say anything else, you grabbed your jacket and rushed out of his house. As you left, you vaguely heard his mom yelling at you both to keep it down because her program was on.
Luckily, she wouldn't have to worry about that anymore.
So I write him all these letters, and I throw them in the trash
'Cause I miss the way he kisses and the way he made me laugh
Yeah, I pour my little heart out, but as I'm hitting "send"
I picture all the faces of my disappointed friends
Because everyone knew all of the shit that he'd do
Two months later, you were still hanging out with the gang.
Strangely enough, you were fine with being around Hyde once you got over it. At least you thought you were. Hyde only tried once to talk to you about breaking up. As quickly as you shot him down, he backed off completely, and you two practically never had conversations longer than short one-liners of insults back at each other.
Despite all the bad, you found yourself mostly remembering the good. The reasons you liked him in the first place: Hyde made you laugh, he was one hell of a kisser, and he knew how to comfort you if you were upset about school or anything else that wasn't about him.
You found comfort in your journaling, writing out your thoughts constantly because if you admitted to Jackie or Donna you missed him at night, then they would surely yell at you.
You were content writing it out. At least you thought you were.
Prom night was coming up, and people were pairing up one by one, leaving you with only two options: go with Fez or someone you barely knew.
Both were not ideal.
You were with the girls at Donna's house as she showed off her cute outfit for Prom.
"These are the shoes I'm wearing to Prom! Aren't they cool?" Donna said, holding up silver low pumps with an excited smile.
"Oh my God, I was gonna get new shoes except Michael didn't ask me," Jackie replied before you could compliment the cute shoes.
Donna looked a little discouraged before turning around and grabbing her dress off the cabinet above the fridge. "You like my Prom dress, right?"
"Of course! It matches your eyes!" You grinned, holding the end of the beautiful blue satin dress.
"I was gonna get a new Prom dress... except Michael didn't ask me," Jackie said with a pouty expression, making you and Donna just awkwardly nod. Luckily, Donna knew how to move the conversation along.
"I'm so nervous about Prom! I think it's gonna be the night that Eric and I... you know?" Donna hinted, making Jackie state, "Oh my Gosh, that's when Michael and I were gonna do it the first time!"
"You and Kelso did it like two months ago, and like thirty times after that!" You groaned out. "Look, why don't you just ask Kelso to go with you if you're so desperate?"
Jackie gasped and looked on the verge of tears. "Okay, first off, it would've been the first time at a Prom! Second off, this is the Prom! This is not the time for your stupid feminist crap!"
The door opened to reveal Eric and Kelso. The door slammed, leading to a usual standoff between Kelso and Jackie. It felt like a wild west showdown.
"Hello, Michael."
"Hello, Jackie."
"I'm just here helping Donna get ready for Prom... because Eric and Donna are going to Prom," Jackie stated, with tears still in her eyes.
"Yes, we are," Eric nodded in agreement, making you roll your eyes at the awkwardness. Kelso chuckled and replied, "I'm going to Prom...". You and Donna looked at him in hope to end the pain of Jackie complaining, while Jackie's eyes widened up until he finished his sentence, "I'm taking Pam Macy."
Donna immediately stood up and bolted out of the room into her living room, to which Eric followed nervously.
"Well, I'm gonna go—" You started heading for the door until Jackie yanked your arm back to sit down at the dining table again.
"Well, I have a date too," Jackie stated in a matter-of-fact tone, making you look at her confused. Why in the hell would she lie about that?
Then Kelso's reaction made everything make sense.
"Who is it? What's his name?" Kelso interrogated, as if he was a detective finding out who the killer is. Jackie was a spoiled brat, but damn did she know how to get a reaction out of Kelso.
"His name is... not important. What's important is he's better than you, in every conceivable way," Jackie smirked, leaning back in her chair all smug.
"Well. Damn, Jackie! That can be anybody!"
I wanna get him back
I wanna make him really jealous, wanna make him feel bad
Jackie's brilliance shone through in her unintentional advice on getting back at Hyde. As for your story, here's the continuation with grammar and punctuation improvements:
That day, you left Donna's house with a passion you had never felt before. You wondered if this is how Hyde felt when he pulled pranks on the boys or did something bad. It felt risky, but also so damn good.
You ended up going to The Hub and found a guy from school, Ethan. You never had a particular interest in Ethan. He was sort of bland but popular at school for being on the basketball team. So why him?
You distinctly remembered that one afternoon when you were dating, Hyde thought the guys who played basketball on the team were stupid for wearing uniforms with shorts.
Plus, Ethan was still somehow available, so it was perfect, right?
Well, that's where you messed up. He was available because he was a creep. He was already hinting at getting you into a hotel room before you could even figure out what time he was picking you up.
As much as you'd love to change your mind, you knew you needed a date. The plan wouldn't work without one, plus Jackie would kill you for going stag. So you went with it.
The night of prom, Ethan showed up at your door with bad intentions in his eyes.
You wore a lovely (f/c) floor-length gown with black heels that fit wonderfully to your figure. Your (h/c) hair was left down and hairsprayed to perfection, and you held a small black purse with your stuff. Long story short, you looked hot. Any idiot would have been able to see that, meaning Hyde would too.
"Well, you look ready to stay in the back seat of my car all night," Ethan badly flirted, making you roll your eyes.
"I'm more interested in going to the prom... you know, the thing I asked you to in the first place?" You hinted while walking to his car.
He moved to open the passenger-side door for you, which was sweet until he ruined it with a, "Well, we will see how you feel after an hour."
This was going to be a long night.
Oh, I wanna get him back
'Cause then again, I really miss him, and it makes me real sad
Oh, I want sweet revenge, and I want him again
I want to get him back, back, back
The Point Place Junior Prom looked adorable with the multi-colored streamers, balloons, and a rocking band, which managed to cheer you up after the lousy ride there. The entire ride, Ethan kept trying to put his hand on your thigh, as if you'd skip the entire prom just for a loud five minutes with him in a crappy motel room.
You attempted to have a fun night, but disappointment was slowly taking over you. It was the end of the night, and everyone was slow dancing. Hyde had been with Jackie, and you doubted he even was looking at you.
Ethan was nonstop insisting all night on leaving, which only continued to bug you more and more.
"Hey, Ethan, can you get me some punch?" You asked, putting a halt to the dance.
"Yeah, fine." Ethan huffed and walked away. You walked over to the table where Jackie was sitting, noticing how sad she looked.
"Hey, Jackie... you look great tonight. That color is great on you," you complimented, realizing you hadn't talked to her all night due to her being with Hyde.
"Thanks... I'm sorry I brought Hyde. I thought it would make Michael jealous, but I don't think he cares about me with Pam Macy around," Jackie admitted, before her sad eyes became soft and hopeful.
You turned to see Kelso behind you, looking down at her with love.
"Jackie."
"Michael."
You smiled at them both before getting up from the table to leave them alone. At least someone's plan worked tonight. You looked around to try and spot Ethan. He was nowhere to be found near the refreshment table, and instead, you spotted Hyde watching you.
Hyde nodded up at you in his silent, "How you doin'?" style. Slowly, you started to walk towards him.
"Hey... how's the punch?" You attempted to joke, making him crack a small smile.
Hyde pulled back his jacket to reveal a small flask. "Better with alcohol. I would ask if you want some, but you barely drank when we were together."
"Well, maybe it's a good thing that was a while ago," you commented, getting some punch and holding out your cup for him to spike it.
Hyde smirked and poured some in for you until you heard someone clear their throat.
You turned to see the one and only, Ms. Kaminski.
"Is that alcohol I see?"
Oh, I wanna key his car, I wanna make him lunch
I wanna break his heart, stitch it right back up
I wanna kiss his face with an uppercut
I wanna meet his mom, and tell her her son sucks
"Dammit, Hyde, I can't believe you got us kicked out of the dance! My date is in there!" You scolded as the double school doors closed behind you both.
Hyde rolled his eyes and attempted to start walking away from you. "Oh yeah, your date. Ethan's a real charmer," Hyde mumbled.
This is what he always did. But you weren't letting him get away that easy. Not like when you were dating. You rushed in front of him and pushed back on his shoulder to make him stop walking.
"For your information, that date was my ride home! Thanks to you, I'm walking home in heels. Which, by the way, are not comfortable!" You snapped.
"Relax, man. I can drive you home. I got Jackie's Lincoln," Hyde groaned. "I thought with the drink maybe you have chilled out a bit—"
"Chill out? Hyde, this was the junior prom! I was excited for the dance, and now it's done! All because I accepted a fucking drink from your... your dumbass!" You yelled before lightly smacking his shoulder, as most of the gang does to each other.
"Screw you, Steven Hyde. Screw your alcohol, and screw your ride! Just screw, screw, screw!"
You don't think you ever said "screw" that much in your entire life. Usually, it's a regular curse word like "fuck," but for some reason, all you could think of was... well, "screw." That's all Hyde ever had done for you. He was the one who screwed everything up. Not just tonight, but your entire past relationship.
As you started walking away down the sidewalk to go home, you instantly started to regret not putting up with your anger for the ride. God, do heeled shoes start to hurt after a short time. You knew you got out what needed to, though. Despite your breakup being so explosive, Hyde and you never talked about it otherwise. Maybe that's just because he hates relationship drama and never brought it up. Or maybe you were just too weak from the pain to ever really confront him about it all.
Regardless, the tension between you two had been brewing for 3 months, and you should have known it would have been released sooner or later.
Your thoughts were interrupted by a car approaching you from the side, and though you tried not to look, you eventually did.
Hyde was slowly driving next to you with the Lincoln, just as he promised earlier. He started rolling down the windows and said, "Y/n, get in."
"No."
"Stop acting tough. I know your feet probably hurt."
You stopped at that statement. You turned towards the window as anger slowly started brewing again.
"Oh yeah? Because you know so much, don't you? You know everrrrrything about me, don't you? Tell me more about how I'm feeling, oh please, Hyde." You growled, turning and starting to walk again.
Hyde jumped out of the Lincoln, slamming the door closed and jumping in front of you.
"You should be grateful, man! Your date was a creep and was grabbing your ass all night!" Hyde snapped. "Now cut the crap, and get in the damn car!"
His words made you freeze before saying, "How would you know he was grabbing my ass?"
"What am I, stupid?! I watched you all night—" He started before realizing what he was saying, "Dammit..."
"You're jealous—"
"No—"
"That I was with someone else." You finished.
"I wasn't jealous. I was just making sure he didn't do anything!" Hyde defended with a sigh.
You slowly moved towards him with a small smile covering your face, "Hyde..."
Hyde took a deep breath, "He's a jerk... And I was a jerk. You don't deserve that, alright? Not again." He mumbled, stepping towards you until you were close to each other's faces.
"You're right. I don't deserve that... so whatever this is right now should stop."
"Yeah... we should stop..."
Your words didn't match your actions. Neither of you backed away. It felt like hours you stood there staring into each other's eyes, when in reality it was only a minute.
"But what if we didn't?" Hyde whispered, gently reaching up to move your (h/c) hair out of your (s/c) face as a soft wind casted.
"Hyde—"
"I messed up. I know I did, alright? I suck and took you for granted. Can you forgive me?" Hyde pleaded, holding onto your face now with both of his hands.
You hesitated, knowing how everyone in the gang would feel. They would say you're stupid for taking him back. The amount of burns would be endless in the basement.
The fear of him hurting you again was strong... but damn, the temptation was stronger.
"You promise not to look at other girls? To go on dates with me like I want? To stop being late?" You whispered.
Hyde nodded quickly, "I promise—"
You cut him off, pressing your lips against his. Hyde wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you as close as possible yet it still didn't feel close enough.
The taste of alcohol mixed with crappy high school dance punch never tasted better than on his lips and tongue. It sent fireworks throughout your body, knowing he was yours again. And it was gonna stay that way.
TITLE :: Smeared Lipstick
PAIRING :: Jackie Burkhart x Reader
GENRE :: Fluff
WARNINGS :: Underage drinking, drug use, makeout sess.
[ ✗ ] REQUESTED
PROMPT :: ❝Now, not to be forward, but I love you.❞
SUMMARY :: A birthday shopping spree ends in a hotbox session and something more.
Tumblr media
“Michael is so stupid! How could he take Pam Macy out on my birthday? My birthday!” Jackie whined, letting out another puff of smoke.
The both of you were in your car, smoking up after a long day of shopping in a desperate attempt to cheer up Jackie. It was her birthday, and it was supposed to be her day, her father planned out a giant party with all her friends and tons of gifts. However, with Michael ditching her for a day out with Pam, the party was nowhere near enough to ease her pain and anger.
You had taken her out for an entire day dedicated to her. You had to show her that her stupid boyfriend couldn't be her only source of happiness, you could be too.
 It was now nearing 8pm and you and Jackie were parked out by Eric's, smoking and spilling your hearts out -- well, actually, she was spilling her heart out. You allowed her to say whatever was on her mind, it wasn't like she already wouldn't have. You were her confidant, her best friend. You and her were closer than she and Michael had ever been, other than the physical aspect, of course. Although, you'd like to change that.
Jackie had been the light of your life since you'd met. You thought she was the prettiest girl to ever exist and you made that known. It seemed that almost everyone but Jackie and Michael had known. Even Kitty knew! You treated her like a queen.
“Jackie, Michael is an absolute idiot. He doesn't deserve you.” You added, taking a sip of your drink which consisted of orange juice and a vanilla flavored liquor called Galliano.
The cute brunette huffed and looked over at you. “Obviously.”
You glanced over to the obviously stoned girl with a small smile. “Ever think of going for someone else? Maybe someone you're close to?” “Like Donna? Ew, sorry, I'm not into lumberjacks.” She grimaced, taking another drag of the joint.
“Jackie, I'm not talking about Donna, she already has a girlfriend -- Eric,” Jackie giggle at your joke, leaning on your shoulder. “I was actually talking about me,” She looked up to you curiously, silently letting you know to continue. “Think about it, we've been friends forever, right? Remember that one time we frenched because you we're nervous to kiss Kelso? You said you felt something, but Eric walked in and we couldn't talk about it around him.”
Jackie chewed on the inside of her cheek and nodded. You had her thinking about it, and she did indeed feel something that night, but she passed it off as her nerves. “Listen, if it's not something you're open to, then we can forget this ever happ-”
She cut you off with a deep kiss, throwing herself onto your lap. Thankfully, your seat wasn't close enough for her to bump the car horn, but she was still flush against your body. Your hands fell to her hips, and her hands made their way to your neck.
When she pulled away from you for air, she was giggling her heart out. “Your face is so cute!” Her shrill voice sounded. Once she'd calmed down, she smiled sweetly at you. “We could give this a try, your lips are much softer than Michael's anyway.”
The joint was dead in your ashtray by now, and it was only about 8:30, time had gone by much faster than you'd thought. “You are so pretty sitting on my lap like this.” You spoke, pressing your lips to hers again.You pulled away for a second to talk to her once more. “Now, not to be forward, but I love you.” That probably wasn’t the best thing to say, but neither of you were sober and it was the only thing you could think to say.
A blush dusted over Jackie's cheeks as she smiled at you. “I love you too. We really should've done this earlier, this is much better than just being friends.”
A minute passed before a knocking on your window scared you and Jackie out of your moment. She quickly slid back into her spot as you rolled down the window. Hyde stood there, looking over his glasses at you two. Your hair was messier than usual and some of Jackie's lipstick had gotten wiped over your lips and a bit further than the corners of your mouth. Hyde pointed to the sides of your lips before speaking. “Before coming inside, you might wanna wipe that off.”
You were stunned for a second, your face heating up as you frantically wiped your mouth. “I swear to god, Hyde, if you ever say a word about this, you better say goodbye to your vinyls.” You shouted as she started walking back into Eric's.
 “Whatever, just come inside, the princess has some presents to open before we do the circle.” He stated, walking to the basement door. Jackie regained her composure and winked at you before getting out of the car and following Hyde.
You quickly fixed your hair and got out, chasing after Jackie. When you walked in everyone was staring at you. “Wow, Y/n, I didn't know you started wearing lipstick.” Donna remarked.
“Uh, yeah, Jackie shared some with me.” You smiled nervously.
Fez smiled at you. “I think pink is a nice color on you, Y/n.”
Kinktober Google Form teehee
i decided to do kinktober, and im starting preparations in may bc i love planning ahead lmao
i have all the days figured out, but only two are assigned to characters. so i figured i'd let my audience decide what characters i write for on what days. ill probably close the form at the end of june, depending on how many responses i get
if you wanna participate, you can find the google form here. most days have character choices with an "other" option in case you think a different character would fit the scenario better (pls don’t leave answers blank or answer everything with the same character). but there are some days where i didn't have any specific characters in mind, so you get to choose from all the characters im willing to write for kinktober
Master List <3 Request List <3 That 70s Show Master List
Stephen Hyde x Reader
A/n: Sorry that this is a lot of 'blank' said whilst doing 'blank' but I'm not used to doing mostly dialogue but I really wanted to try to get the characters across well, as always any criticism or requests are needed lol. Also I feel like this is obvious but I still want to state that this fic is purely because I love the character and I do not in anyway support the actor.
Summary: Your desperate to find a date for the school dance but Hyde's desperate that you don't
Warnings: Kissing, making out, smoking, drinking, mentions of being drunk and getting high, kinda oblivious Y/n
Word Count: 1949
(NOT MY GIF)
"What's wrong with you?" Hyde asked, taking my attention away from the beer can I was staring at.
"Hm? Nothing." I smiled at him and lent back into the sofa.
Kelso was sat next to me, his arms lying across the back of the sofa and behind my head.
Jackie was sat on Kelso's lap, playing with his hair with a love sick smile on her face despite him looking straight past her at the tv.
Donna was sat by the door. Eric stood behind her, wandering back and forth casually before leaning on the back of her chair again.
Fez was sat on the floor leaning his back on the sofa, sat between mine and Kelso's legs. He was happily eating some candy I picked up for him before I got here whilst watching the TV as well.
As per usual Hyde was sat on his chair, he was leaning forward with a beer can in one hand and rolling paper in the other.
"You have been unusually quiet." Donna said giving me a look.
"Wow am I really that loud usually that when I'm quiet for five minutes everyone thinks somethings wrong?" I asked with a chuckle, fiddling with the can I was holding.
"Yes." Eric said with a laugh "now what's wrong."
"No it's stupid don't worry." I said, shaking my head.
"Yeah I was expecting it to be stupid before I asked, I braced myself before." Hyde said with a smile, rolling a blunt on the table in front of him.
"Y/n just tell us so they will stop talking on the TV!" Fez said whilst shaking his head, giving me an annoyed look before turning his attention back to the cartoon.
"Fine. No one's asked me to the school formal yet, I guess I'm just a little bummed out about it." I chuckled slightly at how pathetic I sounded and glanced around at my friends.
Hyde laughed and shook his head "Yeah you were right that was stupid."
"Awe Y/n I'll go to the dance with you." Kelso said putting his arm around my shoulders with a grin "Your smoking hot, we'd photograph well together" He winked at me before Jackie hit him hard in the chest.
"Michael! We're going to the dance together!" Jackie looked at him with offence and stormed out of the room.
"Well she never asked me." Kelso said, rolling his eyes and following after her. "Jackie wait! Your smoking hot too!"
"Dumbass." Eric said with a laugh, taking a seat next to me on the sofa as he watched his friend run out of the room.
"Don't worry about the dance Y/n I'll be your date!" Fez said smiling up at me from the floor.
"It's okay Fez I want to go with someone who's into me not just a friend." I smiled back at him, taking a handful of candy to pick at myself.
I glanced over at Hyde, he was too focused in beginning to roll another blunt that it didn't even seem like he was listening anymore.
It's not like I liked Hyde or anything, we've been friends for as long as I can remember.
But over the last couple years we'd gotten so close that sometimes I'd convince myself that maybe there was sometime else there.
I'd never risk our friendship like that though.
"What about that Austin guy that you've been seeing?" Donna asked, quirking an eyebrow at me.
Hydes head shot up at that, suddenly interested enough in the conversation to take his sunglasses off.
"Austin? As in football player Austin Jones? Since when the hell have you been seeing that jerk?" He asked, putting down the perfectly put together blunt he'd just finished.
"We've hung out a couple times, I had to tutor him for extra credit in history and we just started going out to get food after." I shrugged at him and gave him a confused look as he pretended to be sick.
"That guys a fucking loser, he's head of the anti-drugs club at school, why the hell would you wanna be seen with him?" He said shaking his head.
"He's nice, and he needs to be in that club to be the head footballer." I looked back over to Donna, shrugging Hydes over reactions off "I thought he liked me but he still didn't ask."
"Well why don't you ask him? Why should you have to wait around for him to pluck up the courage to talk to you, go ask him yourself." She said leaning forward, obviously cutting herself off from beginning another feminist rant.
I bit my lip and thought for a second before nodding "You know what, I think I will." I smiled at her and lent over to give her a high five.
She nodded enthusiastically, obviously proud of herself "Hell yeah."
"Yeah whatever, we gonna light these baby's or what?" Hyde asked with a small smile, holding up the two blunts to the group.
~~~
I opened the door to Eric's basement to be met with Donna Kelso and Jackie all sat on the floor in front of the sofa watching some new stupid show, Donna's face lighting up seeing me since she wasn't alone with the two of them being grossly 'in love' anymore.
I threw myself down onto the couch behind them with a sigh, causing the three of them to turn around.
"What's wrong?" Donna asked, patting my back.
"Austin said he doesn't want to go to the dance with me, apparently he doesn't like me like that." I frowned at her and sat up with another sigh.
I knew I was being dramatic, he was just a guy after all and I wasn't really that into him but it still stung.
"Awe I'm sorry." Donna said, giving me a pitied look.
"Now I'm going to have to be the only one alone. You'll have Eric, you two have each other, Fez will probably show up with some weird girl he finds ten minutes before the dance starts and Hyde has the love of his life, Mary Jane." Donna laughed slightly and shook her head at me as I continued rambling "I thought he really liked me, I mean we've made out in his car like ten times."
Jackie left Kelso's side to sit next to me and give me a hug "Oh Y/n I'm sorry, men are pigs."
"Hey what about me!" Kelso asked defensively.
"Pigs!" She responded kicking him lightly. "He was too popular for you anyway. You'd do better with a more indie guy like Hyde or that guy who sits in the back of the library at lunch and rips the poetry books. Not a jock."
"Thanks Jackie, you always find just the right things to say." I said, causing Donna to snort and Jackie to beam, the sarcasm flying straight over her head.
"I know what might've happened!" Kelso said with a smile, looking proud of himself.
"Oh this'll be good." Donna said with a smile, getting up to sit in Hydes chair.
"Well after you guys left last night me and Hyde were drinking and Eric drove us to Fatso burger where we bumped into Austin and Hyde like totally threatened him." Kelso said, smiling as the rest of us looked at him with a mixed expression of shock and confusion.
"What do you mean threatened him?" I questioned him but before he could respond the door opened as Hyde walked in.
"Hey guys what's happening?"
"You threatened Austin?" I asked standing up.
"What no?" He looked caught out, obviously lying, his voice crack just highlighting the fact.
"Kelso just said you did last night, what did you say?"
"Y/n I can't even remember I was so drunk last night, I didn't even get to school until after lunch I was so hungover."
Kelso jumped up with a smile "I remember! You said that if he even thought about going to the dance with Y/n you would run him over in the Visa Cruiser and score a touch down with his decapitated head."
"Ew." Jackie said with a disgusted look.
Donna chuckled slightly before shaking her head. "Dark dude."
Hyde punched Kelso in the arm before pinching the bridge of his nose in annoyance.
"Ow dude what the hell!"
"Hyde why would you do that you knew I wanted to go to the dance with him, is this some kind of stupid prank or something because it's not funny. I'm upset." I said, furrowing my eyebrows as I frowned at him.
"Y/n can we talk about this somewhere else , away from these bozos."
Is nodded and followed him out to Eric's driveway, sitting on the hood of the Vista Cruiser as Hyde stood in front of me.
"Y/n he's just not a good fit for you!" He said running his hands through his hair with a sigh.
"Why not! He's a nice enough guy, he's smart and athletic. As Jackie keeps mentioning he's popular and attractive why wouldn't I like him." I shook my head at him, not even trying to withhold my annoyance.
"Y/n his favourite band is Boney M, you love Zeppelin and Aerosmith. He's anti drugs and you smoke at least three blunts a week. He likes sports and you've never sat through a game in your life, he won't even take you out on an actual date you just grab food and make out in his car. You deserve better than that."
"Well I haven't got anyone better than that, and I liked him. Plus that wasn't your decision to make!" I crossed my arms in annoyance, watching him pace back and forth.
"I'm your best friend I was just looking out for you, you deserve someone you have something in common with."
"Like who!"
"Like me! I wanted to ask you! Goddamnit." He looked away from me, anxiously and awkwardly shifting around.
"You wanted to ask me? Stephen I appreciate it but I wanted to go with a date not a friend." I stood up next to him, pacing my hands on his shoulders to still his movements.
"God how oblivious are you?"
"What do you mean-"
Before I could finish the thought his lips were on mine.
He kissed me softly, bringing his hand up to the side of my face.
Once the shock of the action cleared I kissed back, going up onto my toes to reach his height with a smile.
He pulled back after a second, keeping the closeness between us and his hand on my face.
"Oh. I get what you mean now." I said, feeling my cheeks get hot as I laughed lightly.
"Oh really?" He chuckled and smiled down at me "Will you go to the dance with me."
"Yes you idiot I will. Although we should probably go on a proper date first, if that's what you want of course."
"Yeah, I'll take you on a nice date somewhere. We can do this properly, take it slow and all." He said with a shy smile.
I nodded and we stood in silence for a second before we both lent into each other again, wanting to kiss.
He lent down to deepen the kiss and I smiled against his lips as he shifted me back to lean against the Vista Cruiser.
"Um sorry to interrupt guys but I have some many questions about what ever this is. And why the hell are you doing it on my car! Get off!" Eric yelled from behind us, forcing us to pull away from each other with smiles plastered across both of our faces.
"Sorry Eric."

Big Reputation (Jay Kelso x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Slight enemies to lovers inspired by a tiktok by @/saracarstens. (Y/N) has heard about Jay’s family and reputation and is wary to give him the attention he’s craving (titled inspired by Taylor Swift’s Endgame)
Word count: 2.5k
Content/warnings: fluff (NO smut), slight enemies to lovers, very brief mentions of sex, kelso slander (again) not slander if it’s true
Edit: this was written before t90s first came out and is based more on a “fanon Jay” that i kinda came up with in my own mind after obsessing over him in the og trailers lol, so there are some things in this fic that VASTLY contradict canon!!
You had heard about Jay Kelso before. Son of the wealthy, glamorous local television personality Jackie Burkhart and dim witted police officer and notorious womanizer Michael Kelso. Point Place was a small town after all, it wasn’t hard to hear the stories of the trails of broken hearts Michael Kelso had left in his wake, including that of Jay’s mother. You knew of Jay from school and the two of you working up the street from each other, and had heard of his many past girlfriends, but had never actually met him before. Not until that Wednesday at the coffee shop.
You were working your usual after school shift at the local uptown coffee shop when he came in. Interestingly, he was by himself. No gregarious group of friends, no girl on his arm. Just Jay Kelso, sporting messy hair and a flannel, staring straight in your direction.
You rolled your eyes when you locked eyes with him, seeing his face falter slightly and his lips part as he laid eyes on you. He didn’t seem to see you as you disappeared back behind the counter, instead sitting down at a table and opening up a book. You chortled a bit, Michael Kelso’s son reading for fun? What a joke. You rolled your eyes again and wondered what girl he was hoping to impress with that thing. You never could’ve imagined it could be you.
About ten minutes went by before your manager came and sent you on your break. You sat down in the corner by the cafe window, latte in your hand, and started to take a gentle sip as a familiar figure appeared before you and sat down in front of you. Who else could it be but Jay Kelso himself.
“Uh, hey,” he mused, blushing.
“Hi.”
You tried to be polite, you had heard plenty about him in the past, but you didn’t know him. Maybe he was just trying to be nice. Maybe he wasn’t some womanizing asshole, maybe he didn’t have any sort of more-than-platonic intentions.
He looked you up and down and swallowed anxiously. “I saw you from across the cafe, and I was thinking, um…”
Of course. Just another guy just trying to get in your pants.
You flashed him a look of disinterest. “No thanks.”
Jay looked flustered at your response. Surely because he was used to getting whatever girl he wanted, you assumed, and was shocked you wouldn’t be just another pawn in his games. But you also saw what looked like genuine disappointment flash upon his handsome face as his cheeks began to heat up to a magenta hue.
“I-I’m sorry, I-“ he stuttered.
You rolled your eyes. “Not interested, Kelso.”
“No, yeah, I understand. Um, sorry for asking, I shouldn’t have- I mean, um, I’ll leave you be.”
You focused your attention back to the mug in your hand as he walked away, melancholia in his pretty brown puppy dog eyes. Sure, Jay Kelso was good looking, but he was still a Kelso. And you were far too smart to get your heart broken. Not that you were too focused on boys anyway with how much of your energy you were putting into your school and work, but if you were looking for a man, any guy in town would do over Jay.
Just about a week later, at around the same time, the bell on the front door rang as it was opened once again by the ever so familiar Jay Kelso, this time holding a Polaroid camera rather than a book. You heard him order coffee from the girl at the front counter as you stood far enough behind the counter that he couldn’t see you preparing drinks, before he sauntered back to the same table as the week before and began sipping his drink while looking through his photos.
Unlike the week before, when you were more than happy to be sent on your break as your feet were starting to hurt and you were starting to feel that mental burn out for the night, tonight you were praying to the heavens above that you wouldn’t be sent to break while Jay was there. But there was your manager, once again, telling you to go on break so that the store could stay on schedule for the night. Great. At this point Jay had already been there for about half an hour and you were starting to wonder if he was stalking you. No, you thought to yourself, it’s just a coincidence. He doesn’t even know you work here. Not that he remembers you anyway, he probably asked out dozens of girls in just that day alone. Still, you decided to spend your break in your car just to avoid him.
You grabbed your to-go cup and started to make your way to the door of the coffee shop, which you had parked right in front of, and saw a car parked next to you that hadn’t been there when you showed up. Weird, there weren’t too many customers in the store at the moment. You were about to open the front door and walk out before a stranger came out from behind you and opened it for you, ushering you out.
“M’lady,” a deep voice echoed from above you.
“Thank you,” you said before peering up to get a look at this kind stranger.
Of course, it was Jay. Lovely.
“You again,” he said with a smirk.
You rolled your eyes, though a bit more playfully this time. “I don’t date.” Not entirely the truth, but not entirely a lie either. You weren’t against dating anyone right now, but you also weren’t looking. Especially not for him.
“That’s fine! Just wanted to help a lady in need.” He smiled a toothy grin.
Ugh, he was so annoying. Did he seriously think you couldn’t open a door?
You fought back a smile as you bit your inner cheek. “Well, thanks, I guess.”
“Yeah. See ya around,” Jay said, before clearing his throat. “And if you ever change your mind, I’d love to buy you a coffee,” he winked as the two of you walked off before you both awkwardly realized you were heading in the same direction. Of course. He was the car parked right next to you. Because why wouldn’t he be, right? Just your luck.
You awkwardly waved goodbye to him as he got in his car and drove off, not admitting to the butterflies that you felt in your stomach as he smiled at you. You couldn’t stand Jay Kelso, and you weren’t going to let that change anytime soon.
Another couple weeks went by, no Jay. It was a Saturday this time, so you’d gotten off of work earlier since you hadn’t had class during the daytime and decided to walk over to the video and record store just up the street. It was a pretty cool place that you liked to go to with your friends sometimes on the weekends, and you didn’t even pay any mind to the boy at the front desk as you walked in and started sifting through piles of John Hughes movies before making your way to the small clothing section filled with hats and band tees. You picked up a distressed denim baseball cap and put it on your head before walking over to the full sized mirror and almost jumping out of your skin as you saw a figure appear behind you.
“Damn.”
You sighed. “What do you want, Jay?”
“I-I just,” he blushed, “well, that looks really good on you.”
You rolled your eyes before turning to face him. “Are you following me?”
“Well, actually, I work here, so it seems to me like you’re the one following me, doll.”
Shit. How could you forget Jay worked at this store?
He casually looked you up and down before speaking up again. “You know, you apparently know my name, but I don’t seem to have caught yours.”
“(Y/N).”
Jay smirked. “Beautiful name for a beautiful girl.”
“Shut up,” you sighed, fighting back a smile.
“You wanna buy it?” he asked.
You sighed. “See, I would, but I don’t get paid til tomorrow, so I’m kind of just window shopping for now.”
“Okay…” he said in a sing-song voice. “First purchase is on me. How does that sound?”
“Jeez. You like it on me that much?”
“Yeah,” he said, looking you up and down again and biting his lip. “Really. You look gorgeous.”
You blushed. “Thanks Jay. You don’t look too bad yourself. You win. I guess I’ll let you buy the hat.”
“Sounds great!” he exclaimed before ringing it up and walking you to the door.
“See you later, (Y/N).”
“In your dreams, Kelso,” you replied, attempting to hide your smile.
Another week or two went by and you tried your best to convince yourself to forget about Jay Kelso, but every time you saw that denim hat sitting in the corner of your bedroom, the butterflies in your stomach that he’d given you kept coming back. You sighed and made your way to the bathroom to get ready for that evening’s shift.
That was the next time you had seen Jay, and you were genuinely shocked at how cool he played it as he only so much as gave you a friendly wave from across the coffee shop while once again looking through a large stack of Polaroids. Maybe he’d finally given up, you thought. However, the next night took that hope and crushed it.
Another day, another break that you hadn’t (yet) ran into Jay Kelso. You sighed with relief before the ring of the door opening pulled you out of your thoughts. What timing, lo and behold there was Jay at the door looking devilishly handsome as ever in a Nirvana tee, ripped jeans, and dirty converse high tops with a camera strung around his neck. He made his way over to the corner of the cafe where you were once again sitting enjoying your coffee in peace.
“C’mon… it can’t be a coincidence that we keep meeting here.”
“Now I don’t believe in coincidence,” you smirked, “but I don’t mean to burst your bubble. I actually work here. You seem to keep catching me on my breaks…”
“And here I thought it was fate. Guess I’m just a lucky guy.”
“See? You hit on me every time you see me, but you know nothing about me.”
“That’s not true,” he pouted.
“Oh isn’t it?”
“No. I know this is your favorite corner in the cafe to sit down and drink your coffee, and I know that your hair looks beautiful when the sun hits it shining in through the window. I know you drive a (your car), I know you bite your cheek when I make you nervous, even though you like to pretend that I don’t. But I can tell from the way you blush. And I know that your name is (Y/N), a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. And what are you drinking right now?”
“Chai latte,” the both of you said in unison.
“That’s what I thought,” Jay smirked.
You tried to ignore the way your cheeks were heating up as you thought of a witty reply. “Epic fail, Kelso. You’re just making yourself sound like a total stalker.”
“Maybe. Or maybe I just care enough to notice all the little things about you.”
“Oh please. If you wanted anything more than to get inside my pants, maybe I’d believe you.”
His brow furrowed, goofy demeanor falling and a genuinely serious look washing over his face. “Why would you think that?”
You rolled your eyes. “Don’t play dumb. I’ve heard about you before.”
“Heard about me? Or heard about my dad?”
Damn… that shut you up real quick.
“Actually, (Y/N), if you must know, I’m a virgin. And I hardly even know my father since he doesn’t seem to give a shit about me, if that makes you feel any better.”
Well now you felt like an absolute asshole.
“Shit, Jay, I’m sorry.”
He shook his head, fighting back tears. “No need to be. You didn’t know. No hard feelings, right?”
You smiled at him. “Of course not. As long as you don’t hate me for being such a bitch.”
“I could never,” Jay grinned. “And you’re not a bitch. You’re a gorgeous girl, inside and out.”
You blushed and bit your cheek lightly. “Thank you, Jay.”
Another week or so went by before you stopped once again in the record shop, this time however on purpose with one boy on your mind - Jay Kelso. You tried on a couple hats again, getting his opinion every time and each time him telling you that you looked beautiful in everything. You didn’t even wear hats that often, but the store didn’t have a dressing room to try on the tee shirts, so you did what you had to do to keep seeing Jay.
This went on for a little over a month. Jay would show up and order coffee, you’d show up and try on hats, and you’d wave at each other in the hallways at school. Eventually your little visits to each others’ work became more and more frequent and your interactions less and less platonic, however without either of you officially making a move.
One Friday evening you had been trying on hats for what felt like hours, chatting and laughing with Jay the whole time as he gave you his opinions on which hats looked good on you and which to buy, which, of course, was always, all of them.
“Okay…” you sighed, biting your cheek, “I think I like this one.” You adjusted the baby pink bucket hat on your head.
Jay could tell that you were about to leave and realized it was finally his chance to make a move.
“(Y/N)…”
“Yeah?”
“I, um, don’t think I really did this right the first time… will you go out with me?”
You rolled your eyes playfully. “I thought you’d never ask!” You ran your fingers through your hair, taking off the hat and handing it to him. “I don’t even hardly wear hats that much. But I agree… this one does look adorable on me.”
“It does. And for the record, I totally hate coffee.”
You couldn’t contain your laughter as he pulled you into his arms. “You’re such a dork!”
“Not as much of a dork as the girl who came into my work to try on hats for hours just to get my attention after rejecting me.”
“Oh, shut up,” you giggled, pulling him closer.
“Make me.”
You planted a quick kiss on his lips, leaving him flustered.
“So… about that date.”
“How does coffee sound?”
