Judge: We are here in regards of custody of 16 year old Julian Lowry. Vivian Lowry currently has physical and legal custody. Jade Cochran, you are petitioning the court to regain full custody. Do I have that correct?

Jade: Yes, Your Honor.

Victor: I'm sorry, am I late?

Julian: Dad?

Jade: Victor? What are you doing here?

Judge: I'm sorry, and you are?

Victor: I'm Victory Lowry, Julian's father, and I have something I'd like to say if I may.

Victor: Your Honor, I've been anything but a good father to my children, but the same can be said for Jade. Her drug abuse and neglect put our children at risk. They are the very issues that got Julian removed from her custody in the first place. Julian is right where she belongs, with her brother. The person who maned up when I couldn't and have been raising her her whole life.

Judge: Thank you for your insight. I have reviewed this case extensively and the main focus of the court is to keep families together. Mrs. Cochran has completed all requirements previously ordered by the court. My decree is that primary physical custody is to remain to Vivian Lowry, while a 50/50% legal custody will be split between Vivian and Jade. Jade, you will be granted visitation every other weekend. This case will be revisited in one year's time.

Noah: Did I miss anything?

Isabella: Kinda. Did you know that Julie has a dad?

Noah: No.

Isabella: Well she does. He's in there with them right now.

Noah: Is that a good thing or bad thing?

Isabella: I'm not sure.

Jade: We didn't get everything we wanted, but at least it's a start.

Victor: Julie, I'm so sorry for everything I've done. Or rather, haven't done. I was a coward and ran away when things got tough instead of doing what's right.

Julian: Well, at least you tried to help. So thanks I guess...

Victor: And Vivian, I am so proud of the man you've become. Please, keep taking good care of my daughter.

Vivian: I'm trying my best...

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…

Jenelle Evans Claims She Has to “Protect” Her Son Kaiser From Both of His Grandmas 

It will be a very swampy Christmas for Jenelle’s middle child, Kaiser.

The Sun broke the news on Friday (and The Ashley can confirm) that the fired ‘Teen Mom 2’ star has refused to allow Kaiser to go to his grandma’s house in Tennessee over his holiday break, like he’s done in years past.

While Kaiser’s father, Nathan Griffith, is not active in his life currently, Nathan’s mom, Doris Davidson, has continued to spend time with Kaiser. However, this year Jenelle put an end to Kaiser’s usual trip to Doris’ for his winter break. (While Kaiser was on The Land last year on Christmas, he did go to Tennessee while he was out of school.) 

The Ashley can confirm that this is not the first time in recent months that Jenelle kept Kaiser back from a scheduled visit with Doris. 

“Jenelle did let Kaiser speak to Nathan on the phone on Thanksgiving though,” The Ashley’s source tells her.

As The Ashley previously reported, Jenelle and her husband David Eason are currently under CPS investigation, stemming from (in part) child abuse allegations made by Jenelle’s oldest son Jace against David. (Jace is not currently in the care of Jenelle or his grandma, Barbara.) 

“It’s unsurprising that she is keeping a tight reign on the other kids since she has so much going with her legal issues over Jace,” The Sun‘s source stated.

Anyway, Jenelle was not happy to see The Sun‘s story, and responded to it on Instagram Stories on Friday, stating that she is “protecting” Kaiser from both of his grandmas. (As The Ashley has previously reported, Jenelle and her mom Barbara are not on speaking terms and continue to battle in court over Jace and other assorted things.)

Jenelle texted Nathan to investigate who sold the story to The Sun, and she posted a small portion of the text exchange between them. In it, Nathan states that Doris told Barbara the information that was reported.

“I’ll always find out. Thanks Nathan,” Jenelle wrote.

The fired ‘Teen Mom 2’ star— who has battled Doris repeatedly in the past in court— then implied that Barbara sold the info that Doris told her.

“When grandma’s get together to talk s**t this is what happens,” Jenelle wrote. “And yeah, no wonder I’m protecting my kids from them.”

Kail Lowry Talks About How Her Older Sons Feel About Helping With Her New Babies

Kail can’t stop spawning, but she insists she’s not going to turn her oldest sons into surrogate parents for her younger kids. 

In a new interview with People, Kail opened about her fifth son Rio’s birth last year, and discussed how her three oldest sons– 13-year-old Isaac (with Jo Rivera), nine-year-old Lincoln (with ex-husband Javi Marroquin), and six-year-old Lux (with Chris Lopez)– are handling having three babies in the house.

“My biggest thing right now is that I don’t want my [younger] children to be the responsibility of their older siblings,” Kail said.

Her oldest son Isaac has made it clear that he does not want his mom adding more kids to her already plentiful litter. (Back in April, Kail shared on her podcast that Isaac left a Post-It note on her bedroom door that stated, “Use a condom before you end up with yet another kid.”)

Despite Isaac not wanting any more siblings, Kail insisted that he does like to assist with the younger kids.

“He may be tired of me having babies but he’s not tired from helping,” she said.

Her third son, Lux, is also eager to do baby-related tasks for her.

“Lux will fight to help,” Kail told the magazine. “He wants to make bottles. We’ll be getting ready for bed and he’s like, ‘Just let me make the bottle.’ And I can make the bottle five times faster, but sometimes you just got to let them help because they’re asking.”

Kail recently hinted that she may still be open to having even more kids.

The fertile former ‘Teen Mom 2’ star recently shared a video on Instagram of two sisters bonding with one another, calling it “the cutest thing I’ve seen in so long.” 

“I feel like my daughter needs a sister,” she added. 

Kail shared the video and accompanying comment just a month after claiming on another episode of Barely Famous–- presumably recorded prior to the twins’ birth-– that her family was now complete. 

“No more pregnancy, no more pregnancies, no more surprise pregnancies, unplanned pregnancies, pregnancy, surrogacy, none of it,” she said. “It’s all done. The  chapter of motherhood will be closing as far as baby-making, but I’m excited for my kids.”

Jade Cline Is Ready to Get Her Real Estate On; Has Officially Launched Her New Career in Indiana 

Jade Cline has gone from “slaying” hair to selling homes. 

The ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ star (and salon owner) announced on social media this week that she has officially entered the real estate business.

“As many know I started my real estate journey earlier this year and worked so hard to be where I’m at!” Jade revealed Tuesday on Instagram. “I would love your support! Follow my business page @dreamhomesrealtyindy.” 

During an Instagram Q&A session last month, Jade told followers that she was planning to leave the beauty industry behind and try her hand at selling and flipping houses. 

"Being an entrepreneur was always the dream,” she told one of her fans. “I love hair but I won’t do it forever.” 

According to her business page on Instagram, Jade is now an official Keller Williams Agent for Dream Homes Realty LLC, working in the Indianapolis, Indiana, area. 

The news of Jade’s latest career venture comes just months after her ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ co-star Leah Messer announced that she was planning to start slingin’ homes herself as a real estate agent in West Virginia. 

Leah shared in September that she had officially passed both of the exams required to becomes a real estate agent in her home state; however, as The Ashley previously told you, just weeks after landing a job at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Central in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, Leah revealed she had been let go from the job due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Leah claimed at the time that she would be starting the “interview journey with new potential sponsoring brokers,” but has yet to provide fans with any additional updates. She has, however, since removed an Instagram post from September in which she listed her professional achievements–- one of which was completing the “Real Estate Salesperson Exam.” 

Meanwhile, Jade has already updated her Instagram bio to reflect her new gig. 

Yet Another ‘Teen Mom’ Star Joins the PCOS Club

Briana DeJesus announced that she was recently diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), making her at least the third ‘Teen Mom’ star to have the hormonal disorder.

Bri announced the news on Twitter this week.

“Ya girl got diagnosed with PCOS recently & there’s so many cysts in my ovaries they stopped counting,” she wrote. “Knowing that Nova and Stella may possibly be the only kids I have or birthed is such a weird thing to come to terms to but cheers to the lord above, its all in ur hands now.”

As ‘Teen Mom’ fans know, Maci Bookout and Kail Lowry also have PCOS and have talked about the disorder on ‘Teen Mom’ shows and on social media. 

PCOS is a “hormonal condition that affects women of reproductive age,” according to the World Health Organization website.

“PCOS can cause hormonal imbalances, irregular periods, excess androgen levels and cysts in the ovaries. Irregular periods, usually with a lack of ovulation, can make it difficult to become pregnant. PCOS is a leading cause of infertility.”

Briana revealed on Twitter that she was not surprised by her diagnosis. 

“I know for a fact I’ve had PCOS for a while,” she told one follower.

Another person on Twitter suggested that this may be Briana’s karma for sending her nemesis Kail a treadmill in the mail in 2021, despite Kail having weight issues that could possibly be due to her PCOS. However, Briana insisted that she didn’t send Kail the treadmill because she thought she needed to lose weight.

(To be fair, Briana stated at the time that she sent Kail a treadmill because she wanted to give her something to run on, instead of running her mouth about Briana and her family. However, on the show Briana did mention Kail’s weight when discussing wanting to send her a treadmill as a gift.)

PCOS is not the only health issue Briana has. Back in 2021, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with lupus.

Vivian: I can't say I'm surprised.

Officer Byrd: Would you like some resources? Maybe a social worker?

Vivian: I'm sure I don't have to tell you how much we really don't care.

Officer Byrd: I'm sorry. I wish the circumstances were different. Have a good rest of your day.

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last few days…

Jade Cline & Sean Austin Buy Second Home & Pay It Off ASAP

Jade & her crew are moving on up!

The ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ star announced this week that she and her fiancé Sean have purchased a new home and have already paid it off completely.

“Closed on House Number 2 today,” Jade wrote on Instagram Stories. “Paid in full. I’m so proud of us [Sean].”

“I’m proud of us too babe,” Sean wrote, reposting Jade’s Story.

As The Ashley previously reported, Jade purchased her first home— a two-bedroom, one bathroom house in Indianapolis, Indiana— back in 2021 for $110,000. Jade bought that house on her own. 

The couple’s new house— based on what The Ashley could sleuth out— is a three-bedroom, one bathroom house about four miles away from Jade’s original home. It boasts a fenced-in yard for Jade and Sean’s daughter Khloie to play in, a new roof and hardwood floors throughout. 

“Kitchen has all new cabinets, butcher block counter tops, all new stainless steel appliances, beautiful backsplash,” the listing for the home states. (The Ashley is trying to not give out too much info in order to protect Jade and Sean’s privacy.) 

The couple paid $170,000 for their new abode. It does not appear that they are selling Jade’s original house, though.

The bigger house will come in handy should Jade and Sean— who are getting married in October— make good on their vow to expand their family after their wedding.

“We’ve definitely been contemplating it and talking about it more, especially since Kloie now is five,” Jade said in a video interview in December, later adding, “I feel like our first child, we were so young and it was an out of nowhere thing. I want our second child to be more planned and more structured. Like, we have everything set up and it’s more of like a peaceful thing.”

Unlike many of their ‘Teen Mom’ co-stars, Jade and Sean both currently work “regular” jobs in addition to appearing on the TV shows. Jade owns a hair salon, while Sean works for UPS. 

Javi Marroquin Comments On His Cheating Past

Javi and his second baby mama, Lauren Comeau, are giving their relationship yet another try, but after “Big Papi” became the victim of a fake cheating scandal recently, the former ‘Teen Mom 2′ dad took to Instagram to discuss his past mistakes and his attempts to become a better partner.

After a random Instagram user started online drama after making comments insinuating that Javi had been in Las Vegas cheating on Lauren, several “Teen Mom’ Instagram pages posted about it. (The Ashley isn’t going to go into in detail, as it proved to be false and just a story told by someone looking for extremely sad clout.) The poster also claimed that Javi and Lauren recently eloped so Lauren could get Javi’s military benefits.

Anyway, Javi decided to comment on the post about the “scandal” on the @TeenMomShadeRoom Instagram page. (The post has since been deleted, but @TeenMomShadeRoom posted a screenshot of Javi’s response afterward.) In his comment, Javi admitted he has made some terrible decisions in the past.

However, the father of two made it clear that he has changed his ways.

“There’s no elopement. I was married in 2015 [to Kail Lowry]. Just stop,” Javi wrote in the comment section of the post. “I made the most f**ked up decisions in the past. No denying that, leave the past in the past when people are actually and genuinely making changes. There’s no tell-all and no one tried to pay anything off. Please stop trying to create headlines & issues from 100% lies.”

Javi recently put his Delaware home up for sale. Lauren already owns a home, so it’s possible Javi may be moving into Lauren’s home.

Kail Lowry Reveals That Her Son Isaac Was Attacked At School

Kail’s oldest son Isaac was recently involved in a physical altercation that Kail says was reminiscent of the fight she got into during the infamous ‘Teen Mom 2’ Reunion of 2018!

During a recent episode of her Barely Famous podcast, Kail revealed that she got a call from Isaac’s school telling her that the 13-year-old was with the assistant principal after getting into a fight. 

“I go in there like ready to f**king fight. I’m thinking that my son is being an instigator right? I’m thinking that he caused the fight,” Kail said, adding that she was shocked when the assistant principal told her that, after checking the school’s cameras, it was discovered that Isaac had not started the fight and was actually attacked by another student. 

“He was attacked from behind,” Kail said.

“Hmm…common theme in your family,” Kail’s co-host, Kristen, said, obviously referring to how Kail was attacked from behind by Brittany DeJesus during the 2018 Reunion fight.

(As fans will remember, Kail was screaming at Britt’s sister Briana while Brittany came from behind and yanked Kail down by her hair.) 

Kail agreed that there were similarities with the two altercations.

“Oh, 100 percent!” she said. “They’re afraid…there’s no other way to put it. You can’t come up to us from the front. You have to sneak up behind us.”

Kail explained that Isaac did nothing to instigate the attack.

"[The assistant principal] said she checked the cameras and Isaac had no part, like Isaac could not have heard or saw this coming,” she said, adding that this was the first fight any of her kids had ever been in. 

“First of all, he’s okay. He has a couple scrapes and scratches but he is okay and I guess other kids pulled this kid off of him so it was fine,” Kail said.

“We talk, he tells me how he feels. Thank God he had therapy tonight because I can’t even imagine if this would have happened and you don’t have therapy till next week. Isaac is just not a fighter.”

2020 Book List

Listed in order read: 1: Life Undercover: Coming of Age in the CIA by Amaryllis Fox:   Brilliant. One of the most compelling books I've read. Such a good look at humanity and peace.

2:  Me by Sir Elton John:  An honest look into Elton John's life.

3:  How to Be a Good Creature: A Memoir in Thirteen Animals by Sy Montgomery:  So  good. I feel like this appeals to the empath side of me that sometimes gets weighed down emotionally. Brilliant, compassionate, and heart-breaking at times.

4:  Unstoppable: My Life So Far by Maria Sharapova:  I could read the strength of her and all her had overcome. Her story was incredibly intriguing and inspiring. Clearly written and very heartfelt!

5:  My Husband's Wife by Jane Corry:  Dark and intense. Depressing but well written. Very captivating. This book made me lose a bit of faith in humanity and really made me question how well people really know each other.

6: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas:  Best book I've ever read. Incredibly well written and intricate!

7:  The Song of the Jade Lilly by Kirsty Manning:  A very captivating and intricate story. I love how the story is woven from two time periods and merged. Thought provoking and poignant.

8:  The Three Musketeers (The D'Artagnan) by Alexandre Dumas:  Brilliant. A rollicking good time of friendship, adventure, and love! I was a little disappointed in the ending but overall so enjoyable! 

9:    The Defining Decade: Why Your Twenties Matter - And How to Make the Most of Them Now By Dr. Meg Jay:  I feel so lucky that I got to read this while in my twenties. Dr. Meg Jay has so many powerful things to say from such an understanding point of view. Very thoughtful and clearly written. 

10: Escape by Carolyn Jessop:  Absolutely harrowing and incredibly written. Carolyn writes succinctly with braving outlining her existence. I'm left pondering society, why people do the things they do, and for more on her life. Brutal actions to read at times but well worth the read. 

11:  A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott:  A really fun adventure read with a poor finish. The ending felt abrupt but overall the story was delightful. 

12: Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson:  This guy is my new hero! A bit heavy in legal terms, but makes up for it with heart, positivity, and important facts that aren't always told. Very much changed the way I view the judicial system.

13:  The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins:  Engaging and a fun step back into the Hunger Games world but overall disappointing. Coriolanus was not an engaging character from the get go. Everything was extremely convenient (i.e Coriolanus creating sponsors for the games, Lucy being from District 12, name dropping all the Capitol names, and the origin of the Hanging Tree song. I am disappointed we didn't get to know other Districts and explore the world of Panem a bit more. Coriolanus was a fairly static character until his betrayal of Sejanus and Lucy. For me, the rapid switch of him being static to suddenly becoming a sociopath was not believable at all. Overall a poor attempt at diving back into the Hunger Games. 

14:  My Sister, the Serial Killer by  Oyinkan Braithwaite:  An incredibly poignant look at humanity and the psychological side of family 

15: Normal People by Sally Rooney: A profoundly sad yet engaging look at relationships and the flawed people that forge them. A tragic yet thought provoking piece. 

16:  Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens:  Incredibly detailed, thoughtful, and beautiful. Kya is a captivating character as is the plot; twisting and surprising you at all the right moments. North Carolina is so beautifully written about it becomes the secondary character all in itself. 

17:  Broke Millennial Takes on Investing: A Beginner's Guide to Leveling Up Your Money by Erin Lowry: Very much enjoyed this beginners look into investing as a young person. This was a bit academic at times but a very approachable read. Very much written for the American money system.

18: Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy:  A brilliant work of art. Tolstoy perfectly captures the complex nature of humans and relationship while painting a beautiful picture of Russia at that time. Heartbreaking, heartwarming, and delightful all the same. 

19:  Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein:  A great book overall with some really creative ideas and evidence supporting said ideas. Overall it felt like each had a similar format and each story said the same thing over and over but packaged up in a slightly different way. 

20:  Stolen Innocence: My Story of Growing Up in a Polygamous Sect, Becoming a Teenage Bride, and Breaking Free of Warren Jeffs by Elissa Walls: Incredibly captivating and tragic. . Elissa writes clearly and concisely about her upbringing with a compelling insiders perspective. Psychologically fascinating.

Overall I reached my goal of 30 books in a year surpassing it by 10.This year I dipped my toes into non-fiction, listened almost exclusively to classical literature on audiobook, and found myself exploring new genres.  Happy 2020!
