I don’t mean to brag, but I’m writing a BANGER fanfiction right now. Will post when complete (about 4/5 done I think)

i vote that next year instead of reading Dracula we do a Jeeves & Wooster Book Club. those two never got the rabid tumblr shipping fandom they deserved (disqualified for the sheer technicality of being published a century too soon). we must correct this injustice

Does anyone else regularly get the intense urge to make a Jeeves & Wooster AU for Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, or is it just me? The only problem I have that's preventing me from writing it is constantly going back and forth as to whether Watson would be Wooster, or if Holmes would. Because, to be fair, I can see a little bit of Jeeves in both of them.

I'm unsure if I've got any fellow Jeeves & Wooster fans lurking amongst my followers, but if y'all do exist, enjoy my first ever fic for the fandom!

Bertie Wooster is absolutely convinced that his feelings for his valet, Jeeves, are returned and so he decides to confess. It does not go well. Aunt Agatha wants him to marry a young lady, Jeeves on her side, the lady willing to endure his ridiculous demands... Bertie feels alone and unloved. He sees no other way out than to end his life, yet that doesn't work when Jeeves saves him in the last second. To help with his mental recovery, Bingo Little sends for their mutual friend, Neil Bishop. Neil and Bertie had an understanding a long time ago, and Neil's familiarity with Bertie won't be well received by Jeeves.

We will explore more of Bertie's secret friend and past as Jeeves slowly but surely finds confidence in his own feelings.

This is an emotional hurt/comfort, angs with happy ending, slow burn fanfic.

Green Ice - First Fanbinding Project

After having ArmoredSuperHeavy’s How To Make A Book From An AO3 Page instructions open in a tab on my phone for nearly a full year, I decided it was finally time to give it a shot.  I started with one of my favorite, comfort-read fics, and while I still have a lot to learn I’m quite pleased with how it turned out for a first try.

This is a cross-over between Bertie Wooster and Lord Peter Wimsey - let’s hear it for tiny fandoms!  The story is told from Bertie’s point of view, which the author captures perfectly, and while I can’t give away the twist at the end without major spoilers it is so, so good.

The Binding: This is a quarto size (quarter US letter, so around 4.25 x 5.5 inches or  10.8 x 14 cm) typeset in LibreOffice using Garamond for the body and AR Bonnie for the titles.  I learned so much while putting the typeset together!  The book itself is made out of scraps scavenged from library discard bins and decorative papers that are probably old enough to get their learner’s permit in several states.  Flatback case binding made with a variation on the bradel binding method (the only real difference is heavy card for the spine piece instead of book board)  

Since the story is set in the 20s I was going for an older look, and given the title it had to be green.

Things to improve: the print quality could be upped a bit, I need to figure out trimming textblocks, and I had to do a bit of patchwork on the inside of the spine when I was too generous cutting relieving darts.  But all in all I am super pleased with how it turned out.  Now on to the next project!

Going to do a quick further pitch for I Do, Jeeves, because I'm really quite pleased with it. Here's a sample:

Purcell drifted in with a b. and s. His drift wasn’t quite as smooth as Jeeves’, being more like a gentle gust of wind than a rivulet flowing down a mountain, but I had to concede his timing was top-notch.

Once revived by brandy, I considered my options.

One. Inform Jeeves of what had occurred, and proceed as originally planned, sans vicar. If I hurried, I might get a letter in the evening post, and the bad news would reach Wales before Jeeves left for Thruptwistle.

Two. Inform Jeeves of what had occurred, and I had done so many times, avail myself of his wisdom. I’ve said before, in our partnership the brains were not evenly distributed, and perhaps Jeeves would see some bright clear solution where I only saw muddied waters.

Three. Pull my bally socks up and find a dashed vicar, come Hell or high water.

Once considered, only one option was worth admitting. The Woosters might be short on brains but we do not lack pluck, and faint heart never wed fair valet.

The night was upon us, and I didn’t want to be two measures of brandy deep in charge of a motor-car. But in the morning, I was going to get us a vicar, even if I had to lasso one and drag him to Thruptwistle Hall by the cassock.

Alright, now that creators have been revealed, I can post about this! I'm really proud of this fic (I think it's probably my best work so far) and I had sooooo much fun writing it that I'm super excited to share it 😄
