From what I understand, it appears Dr. Samuel Webber murdered his ex-wife because she'd moved on! still has the same surname but she has moved out. So yeah, this guys NOT okay, then he decides to get scratched up in a garden!

Said garden is "growing wild around the ruins of some bombed-out church." that smells of "an almost overwhelming sickly-sweet rot", and he keeps smelling jasmine.

One of my notes for this episode is "gradual acceptance, embraced end"

my favourite part of this statement, a part that really cements the Strangeness and Acceptance (man really said If i'm gonna become Tree i'm gonna Do It Right);

"my skin is pulling away nicely like blanched tomatoes. My legs will be nonresponsive soon. I need to finalise my position before then ... The roots have freed themselves from the weight of my meat as it sags from my bones and drops to the dirt."

Mir ist gerade was krasses aufgefallen;

Wenn man sich die drei Fragezeichen und ihre Dynamik ansieht, und sich fragt, warum dieses ganze Ding so funktioniert wie es tut, ist der einzige ,,Fall", den sie ,,nicht lösen", ihre Freundschaft, denn die macht genauso viel Sinn, wie sie es nicht tut.

Oder, in einfachen Worten:

Justus ist der Kopf der Sache - alles muss logisch sein, kalkuliert, irgendwann lösbar.

Er hasst ungelöste Rätsel und er kann es nicht ausstehen, etwas nicht zu befreifen.

Soweit so gut.

Dann kommen da aber zwei Freunde daher:

Peter, der eigentlich auf den ersten Blick eher radikal spontan und impulsiv handelt, sehr emotional ist, dazu noch abergläubisch, das genaue Gegenteil zu Justus, und obendrein völlig random dann doch statt seine oft alles überstehende Panik zur Seite schiebt um komplett waghalsige Dinge zu tun, und das wie selbstverständlich.

Und dann Bob, der wahrscheinlich von den dreien den größten Abstand zwischen Oberflächlichkeit und tiefer sitzender ernsthaftigkeit hat, erst der stille Bücherwurm und dann plötzlich Charmeur, grübelnd, aber über andere Sachen als Justus, booksmart, aber eher aus organisatorischen Gründen als aus dem Wunsch heraus, alles Wissen aufsaugen zu wollen.

Auf deutsch: Die beiden machen für Justus keinen SINN.

Ihre Systeme laufen so komplett anders als die von Justus, dass ich fast sagen würde, ihre Freundschaft ist nur deswegen entstanden, weil sie eben in ihren grundtiefen Kernen komplett anders sind. Jaja, Gegensätze ziehen sich an.

ABER.

So sehr die drei auch diskutieren, so sehr Justus auch auf Peter schimpft, er lässt ihn sein wie er ist. Sie sind Freunde, obwohl die beiden wohl das größte ungelöste Rätsel für Justus überhaupt sind.

Peter, der intuitive, emotional intelligente Typ (never let them know your next move der Typ hat einfach einen fucking Bären gezähmt like was)

Und Bob, der Charmeur und Frauenexperte.

Zwei Dinge, die für Justus einfach keinen Sinn ergeben. Was meint ihr, wie oft er versucht haben muss, die beiden zu analysieren. Und bei seiner Reserviertheit, was seinen inneren Kreis angeht, stellt euch mal vor wie verwundert er gewesen sein muss, dass sie wieder und wieder kamen und tatsächlich seine Freunde wurden.

Was hat er denn zu hören bekommen?

Dass er nervig ist, nicht klugscheißen soll, nicht so geschwollen reden soll, dass er zu hochnäsig ist und alles besser weiß, dass keiner ihn versteht. Und das als Kind ohne Eltern.

Und obwohl auch Peter & Bob das immer wieder sagen, sind sie seine Freunde. Sie halten es aus, und das meiner Meinung nach eben nur, weil sie zu dritt sind. Es gleicht sich alles aus.

Wäre Bob nicht da, wären Peter und Justus vermutlich Erzfeinde geworden, die sich böse auf dem Schulhof ankeifen. Wäre Justus nicht da, hätten Peter und Bob vermutlich nie miteinander zu tun gehabt - Himbo & Nerd, einer immer draußen der andere immer in der Bib. Wäre Peter nicht da, wären Bob und Justus zu langweilig, zu eintönig, und hätten sich vermutlich auf dauer kaum etwas zu sagen, besonders, weil der Frauenteil in Bobs Leben Justus eher verunsichert, und das mag er gar nicht.

Peter und Bob sind die Mysterien, die Justus so sein lässt wie sie sind. Er hat sich an sie gewöhnt.

In Conclusion, Justus ist der Plan, Peter bringt das Ganze in Schwung, und Bob gleicht alles Aus. Justus der Pfeil, Peter der Bogen, und Bob der rote Punkt der Zielscheibe.

Wirklich, die Freundschaft ist so wholesome.

The final track cycling events of the 2024 Paris Olympics have wrapped up, and they saw some impressive performances that *almost* convinced us to watch track cycling more.

New Zealand had a very good last week, with Ellesse Andrews winning women's Keirin. Hetty van de Wouw of the Netherlands and Emma Finucane of Great Britain finished silver and bronze, respectively. (Can we also mention how absolutely 🔥 the New Zealand kit is? The stark black and fern motif looks so cool. We almost want to do a best of Olympic cycling kit, there were some other great ones out there.)

Other than the funny bike situation, Keirin seems like one of the track events we understand best. It's a bike race, you race together and whoever is fastest wins. There's a pacing motorcycle on the track? It speeds up, or it just pulls off? I dunno, that's weird, but at least it's just becomes a race, and very fast one!

Sprint is a different animal, and seemingly a misnomer. They just ride around slowly, looking at each other. It's like the silliest, slowest part of a road race that ends in a two-up sprint. And they do it again? Okay, whatever, that's fine.

It was more than fine for New Zealand, because Ellesse Andrews took gold in that event as well, followed by Lea Friedrich of Germany for silver and Emma Finucane of Great Britain for bronze, added to her silver in the Keirin.

And then we come to the omnium, a track cycling race that we truly do not understand. Seriously, what is this event? You race around and there are periodic sprints, and you score points on certain laps, and the points add up over multiple races? This just sounds like an event that makes you race a bike and do math in your head as you keep an eye on competitors and laps, and that makes our heads hurt.

This event was dominated by American Jennifer Valente, who already had a gold to her name in women's team pursuit. She entered the final race in the lead, and kept it all the way for gold. Poland’s Daria Pikulik won silver, and New Zealand’s Ally Wollaston took home the bronze after holding off Lotte Kopecky of Belgium.

(For the record, Australia's yellow and green kit with indigenous designs on the sleeves also looks very cool.)

But it gets worse! Because the madison is a very similar event that is like a tag-team relay involving tagging in and out, and half of the riders aren't engaged at any particular moment, and they sling-shot each other around, all while keeping track of points and competitors and laps. 🫠

The madison was apparently (who knows, we couldn't even tell) won by a resurgent Italian team made up of familiar names in road racing, Vittoria Guazzini and Chiara Guazzini. Great Britain's Elinor Barker and Neah Evans took home silver while Maike van der Duin and Lisa van Belle of the Netherlands leapt into third place after lapping the pack to score big took home bronze.

Our heads hurt just trying to describe it all, but it was exciting racing, and a nice send-off for cycling at the 2024 Paris Olympics!

something that i noticed abt the afton family: every member has a name that can be shortened down to a nickname.

William- Will, Bill.

Michael- Mike

Elizabeth- Liz

Vanessa- Ness

and another neat lil detail: aftons only really use the shortened name when they're hiding. Instead of going by David or Steven, William goes by Dave in the books and Steve in the movie when he's hiding with a cover identity. Same thing goes for Michael when he's looking for his father in the games. Where he could be using Michael he instead goes by Mike

could this be a coincidence? maybe, either way it's something neat.

Manchmal, in Zeiten in denen ich mich sehr einsam fühle, vermisse ich das „alte“ drei ??? Fandom, sowohl hier auf tumblr, als auch auf anderen Social Media Kanälen, wo man sich einfach austauschen konnte, über sonstige coole Momente, Zitate, usw.

Wenn du heutzutage nicht sofort mit dem Zeitgeist gehst, bist du gleich wieder außen vor. Ich war ein Teil von der TikTok Community, bis man mich wegen angeblich falscher, politischer Ansichten rausgemobbt hat, danke dafür. (Ich bin weder rechts noch links, eigentlich bin ich neutral und fand es eigentlich immer schön, dass das politische aus den drei Fragezeichen weitestgehend rausgehalten wurde.)

Getraue mich manchmal schon gar nicht mehr, manche Sachen zu posten aus Angst vor einer erneuten Hate-Welle…

Alles muss trans, gender und Diversity-gerecht sein, alles wird gleich mal von Grund auf kritisiert, nur weil es von alten, weißen Männern geschrieben wird. Das sind halt nun mal die Autoren, wenn es euch nicht passt, schreibt es doch besser.

Ich shippe auch, zum größten Teil Peter und Bob, aber manches find ich einfach nur noch unangenehm, vor allem weil es nicht mehr so ein Nischenthema ist wie früher, sondern auch die offiziellen Stellen herangetragen wird. Auch das Jens und die anderen Sprecher teilweise nach Veranstaltungen damit belästigt werden, teilweise so penetrant, dass es schon unangenehm ist beim zuschauen.

Grade auf TikTok ist mir das extrem aufgefallen. Auch das Jens und Andreas geshippt werden, finde ich schon grenzwertig.

Das hat nichts mehr mit der Community zutun, in der ich mich einst so wohl gefühlt habe.

Auch wenn es wahrscheinlich niemanden juckt und mir die gleichen Leute an den Hals springen wie vor nem Jahr, aber es musste mal raus.
