hey guys just so we’re all on the same page. jeric is not platonic and it never was. whether or not the writers intended for them to be queer is pretty much irrelevant bc at the end of the day they DID come across that way and the fans noticing queer subtext isn’t us being crazy, it’s literally just us watching the show and noticing things. i’m so tired of queer fans being invalidated and told we’re making everything up when we ship gay pairings when that’s… literally not true. obviously they don’t need to actively ship jeric themselves or even like them as a romantic pairing at all but i’d love to not be told i’m insane k thanks <3

I'm still physically wiped out and my head's too fuzzy to do 'real' writing/revisions on my story, but I'm just coherent enough that I want to chitter-chatter about my fic.

So in the course of working on Choices, one of the things I've spent an inordinate amount of time on is figuring out the 'cohorts' for the valleyfolk. What I mean by 'cohorts' are the groups of people who are in a similar age-range to one another and then further subdivided into 'natives' (aka 'people who grew up together in the valley') and 'transplants.' After all, one of the things I'm trying to accomplish is interweaving three large expansion mods with the base game and coming up with a cohesive whole, and that means knowing who from the various mods have known each other basically forever.

Under the cut, I break down who's in what cohort. I may or may not later flesh out my thinking about why I plopped certain people into certain groups, mostly because when I started to do so with this list, the post grew disgustingly (more) bloated. If I do, I'll probably do a separate post for each cohort. After all, this is the site for rambling about this sort of random stuff, right? 😅 (Edit: that's exactly how I spent my afternoon. imagine you're friends with the trio (shawn cory and topanga, do they have a group name?) and you usually end up crashing at one of their places because it's just easier than being home. but there's a time when all three of them are out of town and you just can't deal with being home so you go beg eric and jack to let you spend the night at their place. eric says yes immediately, jack begrudgingly agrees. bla bla bla you fall asleep on the couch and wake up in the morning with a blanket on and a glass of water on the coffee table in front of you. when eric wakes up you thank him for it and he says it was jack who did it. you find this weird because jack had always been sort of cold and distant with you. you decide to not bring it up but you start noticing him being a little more caring, as if he's taking you in as another younger sibling
