This had been the sit of a haunting only a few days ago, a more isolated location which Rosa & Joey had allowed a soul to move on from.

But now there was a stranger, a strange looking stranger, his hair and skin were a pale white, his hair clearly styled framing a freckled face with golden eyes, he was wearing dark velvet dress pants, his dress shirt was plain white but was covered by a knitted coat with stars embroided in it, he was also wearing star and moon jewelry.

He seemed to be taking a video or something with what appeared to be a phone of the area around where the ggost had been.

When he noticed Rosa & the space around her he looked between them and then gave a small wave "Hello, is there a issue?"

As was often the case, one haunting was connected to another, which had brought the pair back to the scene to look for clues. She was too busy beginning to dig through the dumpster to notice the stranger. Joey however did at squinted at the guy, who the hell was this punk? And what was he doing with one of those phone things?

When the eyes shifted between where Rosa was digging and where Joey was floating, the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. Covering his mouth to make an aside to Rosa he said. "Red, we've got some company. Weird looking company..."

"Crap," Rosa pulled herself out of the garbage and turned to the stranger. Looking unamused at the phone which was almost certainly being used to take video or photos. She folded her arms. "What are you doing recording me?"

"Oh that's what he was doing," Joey was still getting used to the new fangled tech around him. "Say the word Sweetheart and I'll try messing with it,"

She wasn't really sure if that would actually help much. Given the camera she did try to not react visibly to what Joey had said.

he always felt joseph's watchful eyes upon him when near dakota. it was initially unsettling, then eventually… just got used to it. perhaps this was what others felt like when exposed to the presence of a hellhound? and at first he respected it— still did, really… but, it'd be a lie to say that the canine hadn't gotten a bit bolder over the years. a certain comfort found, perhaps? a bit of trust. it was for that reason that he wasn't afraid in approaching the mob boss in her office with a simple greeting and a small box of her favorite sweets placed on the desk in front of her. " i got you a little something while i was out, " he hummed out, a soft kiss pressed to the corner of plush lips.

If someone — anyone — had asked Joseph if he ever thought he would ever grow to trust Ignis, the answer would've been an immediate no.

That answer, in some regard, is still a no.

The faith he has in Dakota's judgment is nigh unwavering. Though, there are times where he did not agree with the decision she's made on a matter, it was ultimately that — her decision. He could argue his point to her to the best of his ability, could express whatever misgivings that took root, and could show her proof of what he suspected if it got to that point. However… just as she gave him the space to pass those judgements, it wouldn't be fair of him to demand she listen uncritically.

At his core, he was biased — still is biased. It didn't bleed into his decisions concerning the group ( at least, he believed they didn't ), but Dakota herself is a slightly different matter.

The topic of Ignis and his role at her side is one that he, admittedly, had been skeptical about. He'd be a liar if he said that he didn't find some issue with Ignis' proximity to law enforcement or with Dakota's insistence that it had to be her that pulled him in. The more time invested into it — into him, into the hooks that she used to pull him to her side — the closer Joseph watched. With time and patience, Ignis settled into place with Dakota's conscience reassured of his loyalty… and, perhaps, on the surface, it seemed as though the ajin found a similar peace.

In truth, what he'd reached was acceptance — not trust. Ignis settled into a routine in Due Volte… and Joseph, for Dakota's sake, has grown to accept it.

Make no mistake — he expected Ignis to keep her safe and Joseph would hold him to that. Wanting him to fail or to fall short of the trust Dakota put in him could put her in harm's way; and as critical as he liked to be, he'd get no joy if Ignis' failure resulted in injury… or worse. She deserved better than that… and she deserved to take take comfort in not having to think about her safety every waking moment.

— And so, Joseph will take a step or two back to make room for him. He'd get no special treatment but if he was truly worth it, he wouldn't need it.

The ajin says little when Ignis enters the office, offering a slight acknowledgement to the other in the form of a nod. He's on his way out, body half turned away and file folder in hand, but he could almost feel the mob boss perk up at her desk [the moment Ignis enters]. As he catches the still closing door to leave, Joseph casts a brief glance over his shoulder at Dakota…

…and the slight, excited on her lips — both at the kiss she recieves and the treats gifted to her — is enough. He leaves without another word.

‘ You were the inspiration for that song, Helene, ‘ he says, eyes trained on her face to see what reaction he would get.

Helene found her mouth falling open in complete shock when he said those words, the thought of being the reason for such a beautiful song being written, it rendered her speechless. The pair had only been dating for the last six months, but they had been head over heels for each other the entire time.

‘ Joakim, I… ‘ she says, eyes beginning to well up with tears at the thought of being a muse for him. ‘ It’s such a lovely song. I had no idea you wrote that for me. I love you so much, ‘ she is crying properly now, brushing away the tears with the back of her hand as he moves closer, pulling her into an embrace.

‘ You inspire me everyday, Helene. You’ve given me a new way of life since you came into it.. and I wanted to give something back, for all that you are and all that you’ve done, ‘ with arms so securely around her now shaking frame, he chuckles.

‘ You’ve no idea how happy that makes me, honestly.. that is the sweetest and most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me, in my whole life. They’re such gorgeous lyrics, ‘ she’s thanking him over and over while clinging to his shirt.

While holding her still, Joey begins to sway, one hand trailing down her arm until his fingers tangle with her own and a slow dance begins, his vocals picking up in the brief silence and he starts to sing that song directly to her. It was a delight being able to experience these moments, completely breathtaking, much more exciting than in the studio or an arena.

‘ I love you, too, Joakim. I can’t imagine my life without you in it either.. and I don’t want to. You’ve changed everything and I couldn’t be happier than I am when I’m with you, ‘ she replies, another tear working its way down her cheek.

Joey continues to smile as he listens to her words, his belief in himself increasing with every positive affirmation from her. In all the years he had been dating, he had never met a woman so taken by him and vice versa. He was so thankful for having met her and each day was an adventure that they got to share with one another. Both of them were full of the need to explore the world and so, that is exactly what they had been doing.

Helene felt her stomach flutter when he gripped her chin with his finger and thumb, tipping her gaze up to meet his own and flashing her another smile. She was going to open her mouth to say something else, to hopefully redirect his attention away from the blush she knew was creeping across her face, but he dove in much too quick for another kiss, this time deeper.

The sound that came up from her throat was comical but she managed to regain composure enough to lift both hands up to his shoulders and curl her fingers into the material of his shirt, enough to stop her from falling into a puddle at his feet. After he allowed a gasp to leave her, she breathlessly informed him of the impact he had on her and received a knowing grin.

‘ I have a surprise planned for tomorrow, Helene. I need you to wear your best outfit for the show. You’re gonna be called up on the stage with me, ‘ he says, watching her closely, trying so hard not to crack up at the look on her face.

‘ Me? up on that stage in front of all those people? I.. can’t do that, Joakim. Oh god, I might fall flat on my face, ‘ she panics, gawking up at him with those wide doe eyes he loved so much and internally freaking out.

‘ Oh, you will be coming up there. You’re gonna be performing one of the songs with me, Helene. I’ll hold your hand the whole time, so you don’t fall down, ‘ he can’t fend off the laugh that’s wanting to escape, so he doesn’t, chuckling heartily. ‘ I want to show you off to the rest of the world. It’s time they knew my girl is always a few steps away, ‘ he adds, grinning.

Her face flushes for the second time then, the heat coming off of it making it quite clear to her that it is probably bright red in the aftermath of the numerous amounts of affection from him and his complete lack of being secretive. She didn’t mind that about him at all, but she was a bag of nerves and he could tell as she shook a little in his embrace.

‘ I.. you want me to sing with you, Joakim? Oh my god, always wondered how I was gonna go, guess that will be the night, ‘ a forced laugh comes out at the poor joke she makes before her eyes meet his own again and she calms down.

‘ Helene, you have a beautiful voice, so that’s a good reason on its own to get you up there, but I mostly just want everyone to know you’re the woman who loves me, ‘ he says, pecking her lips as they tremble and another teardrop escapes, which he brushes away himself that time.

‘ I love you, ‘ she says, barely above a whisper, closing her eyes as he moves closer and rests their foreheads together.

‘ I love you, too, älskling, ‘ he responds, holding her close.

My main idea for the brothers and woes verse is that Simon's brother, Tommy, is placed in a team that's all women as a dig to his sexuality when he first comes out as gay, but he's like SIKE bitch i love it here.

Talia is basically the team's little powerhouse, and i just love the concept of a hyperfeminine character being considered "the muscle", so to speak. She's basically a puppy.

I love to imagine a friendship between her and Valeria; Very much Joey and Frankie coded. "I missed you!!" "Okay." "YOU NEVER SAY IT BACK! Guys, by the way, this is not a bit-- Val is really bad with like. Emotions."

1) Favourite song is either High School is Killing Me or Cool As I Think I Am! I could gush for a long time about how gorgeous they both are. NPMD actually takes the cake for my favourite music in the Hatchetfield trilogy - least skips, most bops! (Hatchetfield, compared to other Starkid musicals, doesn't always have music I like to listen to outside of watching the musical itself)

2) Jesus don't make me choose between my children...! Starkid are really so damn good at having a tight group of main characters. Hmmmmm the many years of starkid nostalgia means I always love a Joey protagonist so damn much, but you know what, I thought Richie was so great, I think he wins by a hairs breadth. He opened the musical beautifully, I was a little weeb at his age and hung out with a lot of kids like him so his dialogue was fuckin hilarious and hit me where I live, I had a lot of FeelingsTM, and he ended act 1 beautifully too.

7) Dirty Girl! Loved it in the musical (Angela's performance is just amazing, as was Will's) but used to skip it on the album coz it just wasn't really my genre of music. I think it's coz the opening verse doesn't really hit for me. But everything from that Grace verse onwards got me in the end.

10) I'm such a basic bitch and l tend to love the canon ships (Lautski are so damn cute, and Holy Ghost are insane for each other /pos), so I'm reading this question as what NON canon ships do I like! I love Trevor and Rudolph, but also I wanna see Ruth (my sweet baby bisexual) have a happy flirty moment. Is anyone shipping Ruth with Brooke?? I don't think they'd be together long, but I think they'd have some adventures (or y'know, Brooke setting fire to shit and Ruth too flustered to stop her) before they went their separate ways. Or maybe Ruth and Caitlyn would be cute, a short theatre kid romance while they work on a show together!

First fic published on Ao3: That would be The Other Side of the Mirror, an Earth-3 continuity mess with a JayDick main pair, featuring Roy as a 3rd PoV. First chapter was posted in September, 2014, currently 200k, 20 chapters , and as of yet unfinished, though I think as it stands it ends on a decently hopeful note. I do still recall the main plot points of where it goes, and would like to finish it someday.

Last fic published: I posted the first chapter of Five Finger Discount just yesterday, which is the 5th piece in my Worth Counting series, an alpha!Slade/alpha!Jason series exploring a variety of kinks but with a focus on non-formal dom/sub vibes, competence/strength kink, and mostly-play fighting. (The last finished story was Shifting Into Fourth which is the 4th piece of that same series, so, I'm a little bit on a theme here.)

Fandom/ship I only wrote once: I uh. I wrote Hamilton/Jefferson/Madison room-where-it-happens porn. For the Hamilton musical. It's called Do Whatever It Takes and I think it is still the thing that makes me feel the most sinfully dirty of all the things I've ever written. So there's that.

I also have Let's Be Clear, which is my only fic set anywhere in the MCU, and is a Daredevil oneshot of an asexual!Wesley being invited to join a Fisk/Vanessa relationship, as I vibed real hard with Wesley as a character and never really got over his unfortunate demise.

(Honorable mention to my four stories that are technically fandoms of their own, but all fall under the 'DCU' umbrella, being for the Arkham games, two shows in the CW Arrowverse, and the Teen Titans cartoon.)

Favorite fic in most popular fandom/ship: This is a little hard to quantify. Technically 'DCU (Comics)' comes in at 93k in stories, which would make JayDick the most popular pairing, which makes my favorite story Captain's Privileges. It's a Star Trek mirror!verse fusion with Captain!Dick and Engineer!Jason and so many unhealthy relationships everywhere, and I love it.

However! 'DCU (Comics)' is a very broad umbrella and it's not really fair to say it's my biggest fandom, since the slice I belong to is much smaller. Which means the more accurate winner is Voltron, at 85k stories. I technically have a Klance story but given that it is a big poly clusterfuck dark!fic I really have to actually give this to the second most popular pairing by stat, Sheith. Out of those, I think my favorite is I'm Not That Man, which was an early false-memories/brainwashed!Shiro fic set just before the wormhole split them all up.

Fic I wish more people read: An Extra Shot, hands down. Come read my gen, Wilson-family-focused exploration of what happens if Adeline dies during the attack on Joey! Come read Slade Wilson being forced into confronting the fact that he is a terrible dad and also now a widowed dad of three kids! Come read Billy trying his best to bludgeon all the terrible communicators of this family into actually working things out! READ THIS. THERE'S A SEQUEL IN PROGRESS. IT'S GOOD I SWEAR.

Fic that was hardest to write: I think the award for this has to go to Me, Not Her, a CaptainPan/CaptainSwan piece which I was apparently so frustrated with at some point that I straight up deleted the file. Four years later (no I am not kidding) I had the vague memory of it. Some sketchy thing I could maybe expand, now that I was having thoughts about OUaT again. I pull it out of the (then eternal) trash of Google Drive. It is five thousand words long and needs no more than pretty basic editing and a little padding at the end to round it off. I don't know what the hell was happening with me when I deleted it, but wow, lesson learned.

Fic that popped out fully-formed: I don't recall any that were explicitly like this, but I also don't tend to write like, neat little packaged stories all that often. If I'm writing oneshots they're usually for events. So my best answer to this is probably Fucking Androids? It's a Reed900 relationship origin story that blazed its way out of me during NaNoWriMo one year, named entirely for the sex pun and then in the end absolutely refusing to have any sex in it, so it won that fight. I remember at least most of it coming really, really easy.

Fic I'm proud of: Pulling out a weird little one, here. I'm going to say Take a Ride. It's a JayDick, Gotham City Garage story that I wrote for Firefright's birthday one year, and on reread I actually still really, really like it? It's just a neat apocalyptic-desert vibe relationship building thing, set in the criminally under-explored and rushed GCG world, and I really like how I put Dick together in this one. I recommend it.

To breakdown each counselor! I'll do campers in another ask!

Jimmy is one of the ones I decided to trans the gender of :]. He and his sister, Lizzie are fae. He's the one who plays the guitar for campfire songs. Grian keeps trying to get him to play the one from Spongebob, and Jimmy reluctantly agrees. Jimmy's actually Grian's favorite counselor. Maybe it's because he likes messing with him, but y'know.

Fwhip is little bit reckless, but he's definitely one of the fun counselors. Is he all that athletic? Not super, but that doesn't stop him! He's a favorite among many campers, including Mumbo, Tango, and Cub, and of course, his little sister Gem. Now if only he could stop accidentally swearing in front of the kids.

Katherine doubles as a counselor, and the camp nurse. She's very well-versed in first aid, and can very easily calm just about any kid down. Her campers often make her flower crowns, and she wears them all when she can. She's a favorite to quite a few, including Stress and Pearl.

Joey mostly helps in the arts and crafts cabin. He doesn't really like being outside, it's anyone's guess as to why he's a counselor, but he does very much care about the kids. He's where a lot of kids get their sass from when they return back home. It's why he's a favorite counselor of Cleo's. Joey's also been teaching Xisuma to speak up for himself a bit more. He just needs to stop sneaking off to make out with his boyfriend Xornoth behind the cabins.

Joel isn't the smartest, but he's very funny. Joel also has a very high pain tolerance, almost to the point where he's a bit reckless with it. It worries his girlfriend to death, but the campers find it fascinating. Scar especially, seeing as how he's very similar.

Sausage ends up teaching a couple of the kids Spanish while they're at the camp. He's the camp's main cook, and everyone adores his food. The kids find his overacting with the other counselors hilarious as well. His flair for dramatics makes him a favorite of the more theatrical kids, like Ren and Wels.

Lizzie is the big sister of camp. Sweet, a bit chaotic, but responsible and kind to everyone. She mainly runs the water activities, and that coupled with her pink hair makes jokes and rumors of her being a mermaid fly. She doesn't exactly correct them, even if she isn't a mermaid. Why ruin their fun? Xb loves her for it. And Wels? Well, if his calling her "Miss Mermaid" is anything to go by, he does too.

Pix is technically the owner of the camp, being the oldest and most responsible. That's not to say he's boring, as campers find his pranks to be the most intricate, elaborate things they've ever seen. He's always got an interesting story to tell. Martyn always finds his stories fascinating.

Scott is more quiet, and understated as a counselor. But he's very responsible, and makes sure each camper is comfortable in whatever they're doing. He mostly works with the archery range, and teaches any camper who wants to learn self defense. False is an ace in his classes, and Scar loves the archery aspect. Scott's brother Xornoth also helps out sometimes, when he's not dragged off by Joey.

And Shrub! Shrub runs the nature hikes and walks, and gets so excited during them. She proudly infodumps about any aspect of nature she can, and stimming for them is just second nature. This, though, accidentally teaches the campers stimming. Well, most of them already had something they do that qualifies. Shrub didn't mean to, he just needed to get the energy out, which was how they explained it to the kids. But.. now she makes it a group thing with the rest of the campers she's going with. Telling them to "shake it out" and getting them to join her. Bdubs was won over the moment she complimented his blanket cape.

kade léandre & finley spencer-hastings : okay this one could be so angsty ?? finn being a studious medical student and kade being the drug distributor ( or supernatural hunter if we want his main verse ) who is always either hurting other people or getting hurt himself. both having strict parents in two totally different ways ? i know they'd destroy me. joey zheng & vance do luca : please, trust joey to get herself wrapped up with someone in organized crime ? so fitting for how much of a mess her life always seems to be. they seem so different that it could be perfect ? him, controlled and structured and her ??? with no structure at all, queen of emotional breakdowns ? cruz lomax & nathaniel carrington : oh they would be a disaster in the best kind of way i'm sorry what. cruz lomax the king of saying he's fine when he's in fact never fine ? and nate with his money problems and anger ? they seem like two lost souls who couple maybe, just maybe find some purpose with each other. carlee lomax & ada harris : now this seems so damn perfect because carlee is a lover of all things a little dark and twisted and ada is an actual vampire so ?? i already know that would be one wild ride. isaiah fleming & charles arlington : um detective and overly protective strip club manager ? please i know some shit has gone down in that establishment and their paths have crossed on more then one occasion. probably have preconceived thoughts about one another that are the opposite of the truth ? this could be such an interesting dynamic to play out.
