Remembering Hindi cinema's Gentleman comedian #JohnnyWalker on his birth anniversary(11/11).
Badruddin Jamaluddin Kazi was one of twelve siblings in a weaving teacher's family. The family relocated to Mumbai after his father lost his job. In Mumbai, Kazi worked as a bus conductor for Bombay Electric Supply & Transport (BEST), where he became popular for entertaining passengers with his humorous announcements and impressions.
Kazi always harboured dreams of a film career, admiring actor Noor Mohammed Charlie and emulating movie stunts. His entry into the film industry came unexpectedly when actor Balraj Sahni, after witnessing Kazi's entertaining conduct, introduced him to actor-director Guru Dutt.
While working as a bus conductor, Kazi, later known as Johnny Walker, hoped to be discovered for his talent in films. His opportunity arose when Balraj Sahni, who was either scripting "Baazi" (1951) or acting in "Hulchul," was amused by Kazi's portrayal of a drunkard and suggested he show this to Guru Dutt.
This led to Kazi's casting in "Baazi," where Guru Dutt, inspired by his performance, named him Johnny Walker after the Scotch whisky brand.
Walker became a staple in Dutt's films, encouraged to improvise and draw from his life experiences. Although he was renowned for his comedic roles, Walker grew disillusioned later in life, feeling comedians were undervalued.
He tried, with limited success, to take on lead roles in films like "Johnny Walker" and "Mr. Qartoon," but shone in classics such as "Mere Mehboob," "C.I.D.," "Pyaasa," and "Chori Chori." His peak was in the 1950s and 1960s, with his career waning after Dutt's death in 1964. He collaborated with directors like Bimal Roy and Vijay Anand.
A popular box office draw, he was often requested for songs in movies, a trend he pioneered. Notably, he was the second actor after Madhubala to have a film named after him, with two such titles to his credit, and he was a trendsetter in many ways, including being the first actor to have a secretary, to not work on Sundays, and to introduce colloquial language in cinema, as seen in "Taxi Driver." Walker also ventured into production and direction with the 1985 film "Pahunche Huwey Log."

Ideas for Black!Reader Fic
I am going to try my hand again at writing. And I wanted to share some people and fandoms that I love. If you don’t know these shows/actors/franchises/movies/streamers I’m putting you on! For the following:
Johnny Depp- All his characters
Cameron Monaghan- I know that there are fics out there but it’s only always his Jerome/Jeremiah roles never just him or Cal Kestis
Anthony Carrigan- I loved Anothy as Victor Zsasz
Paul Dano- There are Riddler fics but not as many for his other roles
The Entire Cast of Hawaii Five-0 (2010) - Don’t even get me started on how good this show is! And the cast looks amazing!
Chicago Med/Fire/PD- These shows have so much potential for fanfic storylines!
The Game (2006)- Has great potential for slow burns and fluffs.
Star Wars franchise (1977-present) - I know I said Cal Kestis but there are also other characters like Anakin, Luke, Obi Wan,Boba Fett (etc.)
NCIS franchise- I honestly love this franchise and it’s characters!
Hamilton
Any/All Sports Men- Jude Bellingham,Lewis Hamilton,LaMelo Ball,Allen Iverson(etc.)
Berleezy - He’s handsome and he’s funny!
Coryxkenshin- I literally love him and his videos!
Albert Aretz (Flamingo)- Look … he may be the epitome of mediocre white man but I like what I like!
AMP- Duke Dennis, Kai Cenat, Agent 00, ChrisNxtDoor,Davis, and Fanum ( all I gotta say is love a black man from infinity to infinity🗣️)
Beta Squad- A British YouTube/ streamer group!
SOMEBROS- Berleezy, Rico, ,PG, Joe (etc.)
WWE- come on now, do I even need to explain!!!
Four Brothers- All the cast but Garrett Hedland in particular!
Peacemaker - Don’t get me wrong I love Adrian Chase but I want to see just as much Peacemaker x black!reader fics because 2 words… JOHN CENA
MAWS- New animated Superman show! Love!
Smallville - The entire cast is hot! Tbh I fell hard for Tom Welling when I was younger when he was in Cheaper By The Dozen. Plus they literally whitewashed Vixen. COME ON! Vixen is a black female hero btw. She was also with Jon (Green Lantern) at one point.
Justice League/Justice League Unlimited (2001 and 2004)- I mean I literally can’t find any Jon Stewart x black!reader fics and he was with a BLACK WOMAN!
Warner Bros Franchise (minus the looney tunes & space jam)- There are lots of popular franchises that this company has from Fast & Furious to The Matrix!
Peaky Blinders- Saw a Tommy shelby x arms dealer black!female reader fic on my previous account but even then I couldn’t find it again on that account. So it’s gone with the wind. And the cast (i.e the actors and other characters they’ve portrayed). Example: Cillian Murphy as Johnathan Crane.
Tumblr media
The Bear
FBI (All)
Vinnie Hacker
Tiktokers
Blue Bloods
Will Poulter- I haven’t really seen any Adam Warlock fics

Matt Rife
Joey Bragg (Liv &Maddie) - What can I say I love dorks!

Walker Texas Ranger (1993)
Top Gun
Nicolas Galitzine
Magcon: Whether you saw their vines on YouTube or vine, you know who they are
Dolan Twins

Bridgerton- There is very little Bridgerton stories catered around a black reader.
Marvel- Now that’s not to say that there aren’t any in fact there are many but I never see (Tobey Maguire Spider-Man stories and it seems like everyone tends to focus on the famous Marvel characters like The Avengers but not on other aspects like X-men or better yet, heroes that haven’t even gotten their own movie but are just as amazing like Squadron Supreme , it’s equivalent to DCU’s Justice League.
Secret Invasion- Not gonna lie , I’m feening for Gravik.😳
DCEU- Another franchise that pushes its other characters to the side. For example, Hush (Thomas Elliot) is literally the epitome of Bruce Wayne gone bad!

Every Instance of Lord Byron Hating On John Keats, Listed in Chronological Order.
“No more Keats I entreat — flay him alive. If some of you don’t I must skin him myself.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To his publisher John Murray, 12 October 1820:
“‘I’m thankful for your books dear Murray / But why not send Scott’s Monastery?’ the only book in four living volumes I would give a baioccho to see, abating the rest of the same author, and an occasional Edinburgh & Quarterly – as brief Chroniclers of the times. — Instead of this – here are John Keats’s piss a bed poetry – and three novels by God knows whom [..] Pray send me no more poetry but what is rare and decidedly good. — There is such a trash of Keats and the like upon my tables – that I am ashamed to look at them. [..] – I am in a very fierce humour at not having Scott’s Monastery. – You are too liberal in quantity and somewhat careless of the quality of your missives. – [..] No more Keats I entreat – – – flay him alive – if some of you don’t I must skin him myself. There is no bearing the drivelling idiotism of the Mankin. – – – – – [editor’s note: ‘dashes degenerate into scrawl’]”
To his publisher John Murray, 4 November 1820:
“They Support Pope I see in the Quarterly. [Let them] Continue to do so – it is a Sin & a Shame and a damnation – to think that Pope!! should require it – but he does. – – – Those miserable mountebanks of the day – the poets – disgrace themselves – and deny God – in running down Pope – the most faultless of Poets, and almost of men – – the Edinburgh praises Jack Keats or Ketch or whatever his names are; – why his is the Onanism of Poetry — something like the Pleasure an Italian fiddler extracted out of being suspended daily by a Street Walker in Drury Lane – this went on for some weeks – at last the Girl – went to get a pint of Gin – met another, chatted too long – and Cornelli was hanged outright before she returned. Such like is the trash they praise – and such will be the end of the outstretched poesy of this miserable Self-polluter of the human Mind [editor’s note: ‘untranscribable scrawl’]. W. Scott’s Monastery just arrived — many thanks for that Grand Desideratun of the last Six Months.”
Note: “onanism” refers to masturbation.
To his publisher John Murray, 9 November 1820:
“Mr. Keats whose poetry you enquire after — appears to me what I have already said; such writing is a sort of mental masturbation — he is always frigging his Imagination. I don’t mean that he is indecent, but viciously soliciting his own ideas into a state which is neither poetry nor any thing else but a Bedlam vision produced by raw pork and opium.”
Note: “frigging” was slang for masturbation.
To his publisher John Murray, 18 November 1820:
“P.S. — Of the praises of that little dirty blackguard Keates in the Edinburgh — I shall observe as Johnson did when Sheridan the actor got a pension. ‘What has he got a pension? then it is time that I should give up mine!’ — Nobody could be prouder of the praises of the Edinburgh than I was — or more alive to their censure — as I showed in English Bards and Scotch Reviewers — at present all the men they have ever praised are degraded by that insane article. — Why don't they review & praise ‘Solomon's Guide to Health’ it is better sense — and as much poetry as Johnny Keates.”
To his publisher John Murray 26 April 1821:
“Is it true – what Shelley writes me that poor John Keats died at Rome of the Quarterly Review? I am very sorry for it – though I think he took the wrong line as a poet – and was spoilt by Cockneyfying and Surburbing – and versifying Tooke’s Pantheon and Lempriere’s Dictionary. I know by experience that a savage review is Hemlock to a sucking author – and the one on me – (which produced the English Bards &c.) knocked me down – but I got up again. Instead of bursting a blood-vessel – I drank three bottles of Claret – and began an answer – finding that there was nothing in the Article for which I could lawfully knock Jeffrey on the head in an honourable way. However I would not be the person who wrote the homicidal article – for all the honour & glory in the World, – though I by no means approve of that School of Scribbling – which it treats upon.”
To Percy Shelley, 26 April 1821:
“I am very sorry to hear what you say of Keats — is it actually true? I did not think criticism had been so killing. Though I differ from you essentially in your estimate of his performances, I so much abhor all unnecessary pain, that I would rather he had been seated on the highest peak of Parnassus than have perished in such a manner. Poor fellow! though with such inordinate self-love he would probably have not been very happy. I read the review of ‘Endymion’ in the Quarterly. It was severe, — but surely not so severe as many reviews in that and other journals upon others.
I recollect the effect on me of the Edinburgh on my first poem; it was rage, and resistance, and redress — but not despondency nor despair. I grant that those are not amiable feelings; but, in this world of bustle and broil, and especially in the career of writing, a man should calculate upon his powers of resistance before he goes into the arena. ‘Expect not life from pain nor danger free, Nor deem the doom of man reversed for thee.’
You know my opinion of that second-hand school of poetry. You also know my high opinion of your own poetry, — because it is of no school. [..] I have published a pamphlet on the Pope controversy, which you will not like. Had I known that Keats was dead — or that he was alive and so sensitive — I should have omitted some remarks upon his poetry, to which I was provoked by his attack upon Pope, and my disapprobation of his own style of writing.”
To Percy Shelley, 30 July 1821:
[First page missing] “The impression of Hyperion upon my mind was – that it was the best of his works. Who is to be his editor? It is strange that Southey who attacks the reviewers so sharply in his Kirk White – calling theirs ‘the ungentle craft’ – should be perhaps the killer of Keats. Kirke White was nearly extinguished in the same way – by a paragraph or two in ‘the Monthly’ – Such inordinate sense of censure is surely incompatible with great exertion – have not all known writers been the subject thereof?”
To his publisher John Murray 30 July 1821:
“Are you aware that Shelley has written an Elegy on Keats, and accuses the Quarterly of killing him?
‘Who killed John Keats? / ‘I,’ says the Quarterly, / So savage and Tartarly; / ‘Twas one of my feats.’ / Who shot the arrow? / ‘The poet-priest Milman / (So ready to kill man), / Or Southey or Barrow.’’
You know very well that I did not approve of Keats’s poetry, or principles of poetry, or of his abuse of Pope; but, as he is dead, omit all that is said about him in any M.S.S. of mine, or publication. His Hyperion is a fine monument, and will keep his name. I do not envy the man who wrote the article; — you Review people have no more right to kill than any other footpads. However, he who would die of an article in a Review would probably have died of something else equally trivial. The same thing nearly happened to Kirke White, who died afterwards of a consumption.”
4 August 1821, to his publisher John Murray:
“You must however omit the whole of the observations against the Suburban School – they are meant against Keats and I cannot war with the dead – particularly those already killed by Criticism. Recollect to omit all that portion in any case.”
To his publisher John Murray, 7 August 1821:
“All the part about the Suburb School must be omitted – as it referred to poor Keats now slain by the Quarterly Review — [..] I have just been turning over the homicide review of J. Keats. – It is harsh certainly and contemptuous but not more so than what I recollect of the Edinburgh R. of ‘the Hours of Idleness’ in 1808. The Reviewer allows him ‘a degree of talent which deserves to be put in the right way’ ‘rays of fancy’ ‘gleams of Genius’ and ‘powers of language’. – It is harder on L. Hunt than upon Keats & professes fairly to review only one book of his poem. – Altogether – though very provoking it was hardly so bitter as to kill unless there was a morbid feeling previously in his system.”
To Thomas Moore, August 27th 1822:
“It was not a Bible that was found in Shelley's pocket, but John Keats's poems.”
From his poem Don Juan Canto Eleventh written October 1822 and published August 1823. He was going off the popular gossip shared to him by Shelley (who believed it), which was that Keats health had sharply declined due to receiving bad reviews:
“John Keats, who was killed off by one critique, / Just as he really promised something great, / If not intelligible, without Greek / Contrived to talk about the Gods of late, / Much as they might have been supposed to speak. / Poor fellow! His was an untoward fate; / ‘Tis strange the mind, that very fiery particle, / Should let itself be snuffed out by an article.”
To his publisher John Murray, 25 December 1822:
“As to any community of feeling, thought, or opinion, between Leigh Hunt and me, there is little or none. We meet rarely, hardly ever; but I think him a good-principled and able man, and must do as I would be done by. I do not know what world he has lived in – but I have lived in three or four – and none of them like his Keats and Kangaroo terra incognita – Alas! poor Shelley! – how he would have laughed – had he lived, and how we used to laugh now & then – at various things – which are grave in the Suburbs. You are all mistaken about Shelley – – you do not know – how mild – how tolerant – how good he was in Society – and as perfect a Gentleman as ever crossed a drawing room; – when he liked – & where he liked. – – – – –“
The excerpts above are taken primarily from Peter Cochran’s transcriptions.

Celebrating Scotch Whisky In Style
October 5, 2023 –––––– Julia Higgins
Bagpipes, haggis, and drams, oh my! Some of the biggest names in scotch whisky gathered at a private members club in New York City on October 4 to toast Scotland’s national spirit. This was the second banquet of the U.S. chapter of the Keepers of the Quaich, the Edinburgh-based group that recognizes those who work, write, and otherwise spread the good word about scotch.
The Keepers of the Quaich (pronounced kwaik) was founded in 1988 as a celebration of Scottish culture, tradition, and whisky, and those who have contributed to its success. Marvin R. Shanken, editor and publisher of Whisky Advocate, was inducted into the Keepers in at the group’s ceremony in that first year at Blair Castle in Scotland, and today serves as vice chair of the USA chapter.
At last night’s gala, Scotch whisky luminaries were aplenty, starting with the cocktail hour. There were rarefied pours from Laphroaig (Single Cask—The Jack Rose and Ian Hunter 33 year old) and Bowmore (30 year old and Aston Martin Masters’ Selection 22 year old); Johnnie Walker (Blue Label and Umami, a new Blue Label expression), Mortlach (2023 Special Release “The Katana’s Edge”), and Lagavulin (12 year old “The Ink of Legends” 2023 Special Release). There were also drams of The Macallan (Rare Cask) and Glenrothes (18 year old), and many, many more.
Tumblr media
After cocktails, a formal dinner was kicked off by a procession of bagpipes, followed by remarks from Keepers of the Quaich USA co-chair Frank Coleman and co-chair Ed Pilkington of Diageo. A ceremony of bagpipes and a haggis followed soon thereafter, with Scotsman Andrew Weir giving a spirited recitation of “Address to a Haggis,” the famed poem written in 1787 by Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns. Addressing the haggis is a centuries-old tradition for Scots that started in 1801 to celebrate Burns’ life, following his untimely death at age 37. (Haggis is a thoroughly Scottish dish that consists of sheep offal thickened with oatmeal and flavored with onion, fat, and peppery spices; it’s often served with “neeps and tatties,” otherwise known as rutabaga and potatoes, as well as whisky, of course.) Midway through Weir’s address, Scottish actor Sam Heughan of “Outlander” fame joined the fray—Heughan was the evening’s guest of honor and keynote speaker, and also has a whisky brand of his own, The Sassenach blended scotch.
Addressing the haggis was one of numerous interludes throughout the evening, as a series of speakers took the floor for toasts. The first toast featured the presentation of a Scottish quaich. While we drink out of glasses today, centuries ago the quaich—a shallow, two-handled drinking vessel—was used by the Scots. The quaich’s two-handled design is often seen as a symbol of fellowship and trust, and has earned it the name “Cup of Friendship.”
Tumblr media
Pilkington and vice chair Wayne Chaplin (also president and CEO of distribution giant Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits) then gave a toast to the scotch industry, citing its growth and staggering volume numbers. “Scottish culture is a cornerstone of scotch whisky, and we are delighted to keep the storied traditions alive with the annual Keepers of the Quaich USA events,” said Pilkington.
The remarks were followed by a toast to Scotland from Chris Thomson, head of Scottish Government in the USA, and later, a charitable presentation from Paul Ross, CEO of Edrington America, and Rory Hedderly, head of business development at the Entrepreneurial Scotland Foundation, who outlined the evening’s beneficiary—the Entrepreneurial Scotland Foundation. Heughan, introduced by chapter secretary and senior director of premium seed brands marketing at Beam Suntory Kathleen DiBenedetto, then gave a spirited keynote address. As the night wound down, Coleman took to the podium once more to recognize leaders of the industry, and finally, Dewar’s scotch whisky vice president Brian Cox made the closing remarks.
The Keepers induct new members at ceremonies held in spring and fall, and only at Blair Castle in Scotland. To qualify, potential new Keepers must have worked in scotch whisky for a minimum of seven years, and must be recommended to the society by at least two existing members.

Since I started by explaining more general things, now I'm going to explain the Paranormal Order and the teams! Maybe a little bit of the characters
So, Ordem Paranormal means Paranormal Order, but the official name inside the lore is Ordo Realitas and its a big and secret organization with headquarters in Brazil.
The agents are divided in teams and usually they are always together to fight the paranormal.
Equipe Aniquiladores: The oldest team! The members include Senhor Veríssimo (a NPC, the Order leader), Aaron (NPC, a mysterious sniper), Balu (Played by Calango, funny guy), Arnaldo Fritz (sometimes a npc, sometimes played by Rakin, a famous actor), Chizue Akechi (a NPC, uses Katanas) and some other unknow people, now inactive;
Equipe Veterana de Varredura: Balu, Arnaldo Fritz, Johnny Tabasco (played by Alanzoka, really impulsive) and Luciano Carvalho (played by LJoga, a former military), now inactive;
Equipe Brasa: Erin Parker (played by Kalera, heavy inspired by Jinx from League of Legends), Fernando Carvalho (also played by LJoga, Luciano's husband), Luciano Carvalho and Tristan Monteiro (NPC, funny flirty guy), now inactive;
Equipe Iniciante de Varredura: The first team to be presented in the series! Its members are Alexsander Kothe (played by LJoga, a history teacher), Daniel Hartmann (played by Luba, a writer), Elizabeth Webber (played by Bagi, a medical doctor and forensic scientist) and Thiago Fritz (played by Rakin, Arnaldo's son), now inactive;
Equipe Veterana: Arnaldo Fritz, Chizue Akechi, Cristopher Cohen (played by LJoga), Francisca Parker (NPC, Erin's grandmother) and Senhor Veríssimo, now inactive;
Equipe E: Second season team! Arthur Cervero (played by Guaxinim, handsome and cute guy), Cesar Oliveira Cohen (Played by Calango, nerd and Cristopher's son), Elizabeth Webber, Joui Jouki (played by Luba, gymnast), Thiago Fritz, now inactive;
Equipe Kelvin: Kenan Thomas (played by Leo Santi), Mariana Carona (played by Bagi), Miguel Cariad (initially played by Calango, later he became a NPC), now inactive;
Equipe D: Third season team! Arthur Cervero, Beatrice Portinari (played by Triz Pariz, has a cool bird), Dante (played by Rakin, an ocultist), Elizabeth Webber, Erin Parker, Fernando Carvalho, Joui Jouki, Kaiser (Cesar Oliveira after some traumas), Luciano Carvalho, Orpheu (the cool bird!) and Tristan Monteiro, now inactive;
Dragões Metálicos: A metal band inspired by Metallica, they're all NPCs! Kurt Hemmis, Leandro Hans, Marcos Front and Roberto Lutrijo, now inactive;
Equipe Espiãs: Team inspired by Totally Spies, they're all NPCs! Alexia Grifo, Clarissa Leão and Samantha Hale, now inactive;
Dupla Johnny e Rubens: Johnny Tabasco and Rubens Naluti (played by Felps, a silly little guy), now inactive;
Equipe Abutres: Balu, Arthur Cervero, Carina Leone (played by Bagi, italian mafia girl), Dante, Joui Jouki and Rubens Naluti, still active;
Equipe Delta: NPC only team: Jiro Yukami, Naomi Akechi and Olivia Lefleur, still active;
Dupla Cavalcante e Wanderley: Cavalcante Bueno (a NPC) and Wanderley Nascimento (played by Rakin)
And also theres teams from another countries or without any contact with the Order:
Hell Hunters: Ex members from SWAT, their headquarters are in Texas, United States, all the members are NPCs. Arnold Strolley, Chloe Grey, Jason Bloom, Karen Brown, Miguel Hernandez, Roy Stevens, Ryder States, Stella Green and Troy Walker;
Obscurité: A french team of anarchists who lives in Paris' Catacombs, almost all of them are NPCs. Bernadette Leroy, Cartier Dubois, Delano Martin, Désirée Menet, Dominic Sy Pierre (played by Abelha), Emmanuelle Adrien, Lorraine Orleans, Marc Menet, Margot Renaud, Maxime Auclair, Oriel Renaud and Yuki Saito (played by Kalera);
Família Leone: Italian mafia, almost all NPCs. Alfredo Leone, Alonzo Leone, Ângela Leone, Antonella Leone, Brando Leone, Carla Leone, Carina Leone, Chiara Leone, Dario Leone, Enzo Leone, Fabrizio Leone, Giuseppe Leone, Lorenzo Leone, Marco Leone, Patrizia Leone and Roberta Leone;
Os Cinco: Team kinda based on Scooby-Doo and in sci-fi 90' movies. Xande (played by Guaxinim, impulsive and cool guy), Dara Venturini (played by Carol, team's support), Chico (played by LJoga), Guizo (played by Felps), Lírio Tellini (played by Gary, he's THE WALL), Morato Vertaler (NPC) and Voytek Nowak (NPC).

Happy Birthday, Hannah Waddingham
Tumblr media
  Today marks the birthday of actor, singer, performer and, I suppose, presenter, Hannah Waddingham.
Eagle-eyed readers, followers of my socials and fans of the podcast will note I became a fan of Waddingham while watching Ted Lasso, and I continue to enjoy her work and joie de vivre.
This year, Waddingham completed Season 3 of Ted Lasso where she played the complex and often very funny owner of Richmond AFC, Rebecca Welton.  She also co-starred in a BBC/ PBS version of Tom Jones, where she played the manipulative but vivacious Lady Bellaston (and more or less stole the show).  She's been Emmy nominated for both parts.
Last Fall she had a key but small part in Hocus Pocus 2, and a cameo role that was maybe the best part of the Disney+ Willow series.
Waddingham also hosted the Oliviers (the British Tonys) and Eurovision 2023.  This Christmas, she has a holiday special coming to Apple+ that was recorded a while back, and, according to those who were there, is pretty great.  So keep your eyes open for that.  She's also leant her voice to the upcoming cartoon, Krapopolis, from Dan Harmon.  She mentioned a possible album this year as well.  We'll see.  Oh, and she'll be in the next Mission Impossible movie.
She's selling Pepperidge Farm cookies (they're pretty good, y'all), and has been part of a collab between Johnnie Walker, the Women's Sports Foundation and Justwomenssports.com to encourage people to watch women's sports.  And drink Johnnie Walker, presumably.  Done and done.  And, she's out there on the SAG-AFTRA picket lines.
Anyway, busy year for Waddingham, but all good stuff.  Not bad for someone you didn't hear of before 2020 unless you were hitting a lot of West End shows (I was not).
I have no idea what she'll be up to next, if Ted Lasso is truly over, etc...  But we'll keep tuning in.

What’s up? I’m 22, autistic, biromantic-demisexual, and use She/Her pronouns. Storytelling is really important to me, and the stuff I make is almost always dark, unhinged, and macabre.
This is a list of all the stories I’ve written so far (and I’ll be making updates in time with future stories). The characters I mainly write for are YouTuber Egos; those of Nathan Sharp/NateWantsToBattle, Markiplier, MatPat, Thomas Sanders, etc.

Cast: Phil, Tom W, Rhys Darby, Rhys, Tom S, Chris, Ike, Nick, Katherine, me, Bill
The huge cast of name actors playing name DJs certainly was surreal.  I can’t put my finger on why that might be so.  Some competitive joke telling.  Who could make Philip Seymour Hoffman laugh the most.  Some scrambling for screen time in the big ensemble scenes.  Actually loads of that.  Who were they? Well,  Rhys Darby was recruited from Flight of the Conchords to play the Kenny Everett character.  He was shy like me I think.  And he pronounced six as sux.  Somehow Nick Frost, Chris O’ Dowd, Rhys Ifans and Tom Wisdom inhabited the souls of Dave Lee Travis, Tony Blackburn, Johnny Walker, Tony Prince, Simon Dee and Johnny Vance between them.

Remembering one of the finest actresses of Hindi cinema, Shakila, on her 89th birth anniversary.
Shakila (1 January 1935 - 20 September 2017) was best known for her roles in Guru Dutt's films: 'Aar Paar' (1954) and 'C.I.D.' (1956). She also starred with Shammi Kapoor in Shakti Samanta's 'China Town' (1962) and had memorable performances in films like 'Post Box 999'.
She married Johny Barber, who was not from the film industry, and retired from cinema in 1963 to move to the United Kingdom. Shakila had a daughter named Meenaz with him, who unfortunately passed away in 1991. Her sister Noor (short for Noorjehan) was married to the actor Johnny Walker.
The famous song 'Babuji Dheere Chalna' (बाबूजी धीरे चलना) from 'Aar Paar' was filmed on her.
Shakila sadly passed away due to a massive heart attack in Mumbai on 20 September 2017.
