Ideas for Black!Reader Fic

I am going to try my hand again at writing. And I wanted to share some people and fandoms that I love. If you don’t know these shows/actors/franchises/movies/streamers I’m putting you on! For the following:

Johnny Depp- All his characters

Cameron Monaghan- I know that there are fics out there but it’s only always his Jerome/Jeremiah roles never just him or Cal Kestis

Anthony Carrigan- I loved Anothy as Victor Zsasz

Paul Dano- There are Riddler fics but not as many for his other roles

The Entire Cast of Hawaii Five-0 (2010) - Don’t even get me started on how good this show is! And the cast looks amazing!

Chicago Med/Fire/PD- These shows have so much potential for fanfic storylines!

The Game (2006)- Has great potential for slow burns and fluffs.

Star Wars franchise (1977-present) - I know I said Cal Kestis but there are also other characters like Anakin, Luke, Obi Wan,Boba Fett (etc.)

NCIS franchise- I honestly love this franchise and it’s characters!

Justice League/Justice League Unlimited (2001 and 2004)- I mean I literally can’t find any Jon Stewart x black!reader fics and he was with a BLACK WOMAN!

DCEU- Another franchise that pushes its other characters to the side. For example, Hush (Thomas Elliot) is literally the epitome of Bruce Wayne gone bad!

Ross Lynch- There are so many roles that Ross did so well in Like Teen Beach Movie or Sabrina.

Highschool Musical Franchise (2006- present ) I’m not just talking about HSMTS (2019), I mean even further back than that. I don’t see any Troy Bolton x black!reader and that’s crazy. I also can’t find any Zac Efron x black!reader

Another night at the black dragon fighting club, Kano, never one to back down, leaned in closer to you, his voice dripping with mischief. "Y'know, luv, I'd hate to see that charming smile of yours go to waste. Why don't you give the dangerous life a break and join me for a night on the town?"

Erron Black, on the other hand, wasn't about to let Kano have the last word. He leaned in with an even smoother tone, trying to maintain his suave demeanor. "Or, darling, you can take a walk on the wild side with me. I promise you won't regret it."

Your eyes darted between the two men, both vying for your attention. It was clear that they were willing to pull out all the stops to win you over.

With a roll of your eyes and a corner smirk that matched Kano's characteristic sarcasm, you decided to play along. "Well, gentlemen, it seems I'm in quite the predicament. I'm afraid I can't choose just yet."

Kano let out a triumphant laugh, while Erron raised an eyebrow, intrigued by your response. It seemed that your playful banter only fueled their determination to win your favor.

Kano, refusing to back down, chimed in with a sly grin. "Smart choice, luv. Keeps us on our toes, it does."

Erron nodded in agreement. "Ain't that the truth. We'll just have to keep impressing you."

As the banter continued, it took on a playful and even absurd tone. Kano and Erron found themselves exchanging increasingly outrageous and amusing suggestions to win your attention, all while keeping their charismatic personas intact.

You couldn't help but be entertained by the entire spectacle. It was clear that this competition was far from over, and you were content to sit back and enjoy the attention. Despite the chaos and rivalry surrounding you, you found yourself in a rather unique and amusing position, with Kano and Erron Black both trying to capture your interest.

One day you, Erron, Kano, Sektor, and many robot replicas and trained men, you were all sent to capture Johnny, Sonya, or at least Cassie to gain something beneficial, you and Erron went alone first along the military base and caught a moment alone between you two

As the mission continued, you guys found yourselves stationed in a quiet corner of the underground facility, momentarily away from the action. The air was heavy with tension, but the two of you took a moment to breathe from the previous shooting of protection and exchanged a few quiet words.

Erron Black, his charming facade momentarily down, turned to you. "You know, darlin', we’ve never gotten a chance to talk like this in the middle of a mission."

You nodded, feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders. "That's true. it feels like we're constantly on the move, sometimes I wish I weren’t so involved in everything "

Erron's voice softened as he looked at you as he has never had a personal conversation before with someone he works with . "I know it's a dangerous world, but there's something about you, something that keeps me coming back for more."

You met his gaze, there was a moment were you both looked in each others eyes then lips, the connection between you deepening in that quiet moment. "It's not easy to navigate this whole process, but having someone like you during the process..makes it a little less…daunting."

Erron just slightly moved closer to you, you add your pinky finger on top of his hand making eye contact with him, Just as he was about to say more, Kano's voice erupted through the radio, dripping with jealousy and irritation. "Oi, lovebirds, we've got a situation here! Stop playin' around and get back to work, This ain't the time for touchy-feely nonsense."

Erron, unfazed, shot back, "Seems like someone's feathers are ruffled. Can't handle a little human connection, Kano?"

Kano's response was a low, menacing growl. "I'm watchin' you, Erron. Don't get too comfortable."

Erron Black let out a quiet chuckle, and the two of you returned to the mission at hand. Kano's tone didn't go unnoticed, and it was clear he wasn't pleased with the intimacy he had just witnessed.

As you moved forward, Kano's attitude became increasingly disruptive even at the slight normal conversations almost every one has . He couldn't hide the jealousy that coursed through him, and his comments through the radio were laced with irritation and impatience.

Another smart remark flashed the both of you, when you and Erron accidentally bumped into each other from you walking to fast and not looking where you were walking at, and your guys hand glided on top of each other sorta like this ( click on the link on the word “ This “ )

Kano's voice crackled again. "You two best be focused on the mission instead of holdin' hands. We're here to capture Johnny, not exchange sweet nothings."

Erron Black shot back, his own irritation evident. "You're just jealous, Kano. Afraid you're losin' your grip on your precious Y/n."

Kanos extreme annoyance just exploded “ you shouldn’t even be picking at what should be mine “

Erron leaned in, his voice a low murmur, "Seems our mate Kano is struggling with the concept of sharing."

You chuckled, the irony not lost on you. "I never thought I'd be the center of a love triangle in the middle of a mission."

Erron's grin widened. "Well, darlin', life is full of surprises. But you can bet Kano won't make this easy."

Kano rolled his eyes again as usual “ god damnit black, quit your gobsmackin with y/n We're not on a damn date. Focus on the mission!"

Erron shot back, his voice filled with mischief, "Jealousy doesn't suit you, Kano. Maybe you should try being a bit more charming like me."

The tension between the two men was palpable, and it seemed that the love triangle had reached a boiling point. You couldn't help but feel the weight of their rivalry and the complexities of your relationships.

The love triangle between Kano, Erron Black, and you continued to play out, each interruption and intimate moment adding to the complexities of your relationships. The question remained: who would ultimately capture your heart in the end?

Unexpected Delivery- Kabal x F!Reader

So I had an idea of a reader who gets unexpectedly pregnant by Kabal and potential interactions the reader might have with other kombatants as a result of them finding out they're pregnant.

Warnings: swearing, mentions of blood, bodily functions, abortion thoughts.

Background:

Y/n is a kombatant, morally grey. Grew up in the south side of Chicago, living vagrantly and poor. Pick your own skills/abilities. Y/n is sometimes on the side of good, sometimes not. Y/n interacts with the Black Dragon faction every now and then for quick missions for quick pay, although she is not a dedicated member (merc; she doesn't like killing unnecessarily). Y/n and Kabal have been dating and getting busy for the past 10 months (and its poorly kept secret, everyone knows). Also (b/c this is my story, fight me) you are really close to Mileena. Y/n realizes Mileena is just misunderstood and just wants to be accepted and loved :) (this is relevant later).

Story:

"Fuck, fuck!" y/n paced in her bathroom what seemed like an eternity before shakily picking up the third and final pregnancy test off the side of their bathtub.

The two lines flipped Y/n's denial back on its head. Y/n was pregnant, and she had suspected so for a couple of weeks. Frequent urination, body aches, sore nips- all the alarms went off for Y/n, but those parallel pink lines struck like a ton of bricks. Was it worth telling Kabal? Should she just terminate? How far along was she? Y/n had to lean against the sink as these thoughts made her woozy.

Y/n unlocked her phone and began to type a long message to the speedster, but selected it all and deleted it. Y/n was lost in infinite possibilities. She would have to stop doing runs for the Black Dragon. What about Kabal? Y/n did not want their child to be exposed to any of the criminal syndicate, especially...Kano.

The words though, their child rung in Y/n's head, immediately spurring a flurry of butterflies in her stomach. She imagined Kabal with a goofy grin, speeding around with their child. She knew from the few times he's spoke on it, he values family and wants a big family of his own. She imagined their little family watching nerdy movies like Star Wars or Ninja Mime...

Y/n swattted at the air as to physically dismiss her thoughts. She had a mission today and that came first. She decided if she was going to tell Kabal, it would be after she completed this mission.

...

Y/n had to pick up some packages for the Black Dragon. Minus an excessive amount of stealth, this should have been a straight-forward and easy mission. All Y/n had to do was bust open the back of the truck and steal the two smallest boxes. Y/n drew a ragged breath before engaging. Looking through the poorly lit truck, she found the two smallest boxes surrounded by piles of larger boxes keeping those two in place. What are in the boxes? Who knows, Y/n does not ask, as she likes to keep some emotional investment apart from her despicable position. She does this for money, not for shits and giggles.

Reminiscing on her days homeless on the streets of Chicago, Y/n quickly moved the larger boxes before snatching the two and taking off. Despite her speedy pace, Y/n was not as fast as she normally would be, knowing damn well why. This cost her, however, as gunfire began to ring out. Y/n dashed off as fast as she could, but took a bullet near her lower abdomen. Y/n screeched in pain, but also fear- what about her baby?

Y/n gritted her teeth and kept running as fast she could, bleeding out in the process. Y/n reached the Black Dragon compound after 10 minutes of running. As she pushed the doors open, she drew a ragged breath, and the floor began to speed towards her. Everything went black.

Y/n groaned and winced, perceiving the bright lights of the infirmary through her eyelids. Realization hit Y/n like a ton of bricks, however, and she sat quickly and violently upright. Y/n let out a grunt before taking in her surroundings. As she quickly surveyed the room, her eyes met with a mask all too familiar. In a millisecond he was at her bedside, speaking 100 miles per hour. All Y/n could make out is "what the fuck happened?" "I'll never let you go on a mission alone again." "Those fuckers are going to pay..." Y/n drowned out Kabal's stammering once she saw a medic.

Staring at y/n, y/n asked the head medic, in merely a whimper, "how is my baby?" Dumbfounded, but lightly amused, Kabal said "I'm fine but what the hell happened to you? Are you okay?" Y/n would have laughed had not the situation been dire.

"The bullet just barely missed the babies. We ran some tests, from we can tell, the babies are healthy for three months." Holy shit, three months? BABIES? PLURAL?

Although he had a mask on, you knew Kabal was blank. For what felt like years, he did not say a word. Then, merely a pained whisper, Kabal asked, "why didn't you tell me?"

"I planned to tell you right after my mission. I legitimately found out this morning. I was still processing it myself."

Kabal sat quietly, before walking away. "Kabal, wai-," he was already gone. Tears began to form in the corners of your eyes. Was he just going to throw everything away? Just leave just like that? All the crying and the morphine began to takeover, and Y/n began to unwillingly drift off.

When she awoke, she was at her apartment, in her bed. Pacing in the living room, was the speedster. As rare as it could be, he was unmasked and in a plain white tee and black sweatpants. Besides intimate moments, Y/n did not see this casual side often. Kabal was known to be ashamed of his disfigurement. To Y/n, however, the burns meant nothing at all. You loved that man with every fiber of your being.

Kabal heard the sheets slightly ruffle and looked to see Y/n awake and dashed over. Staring down for a moment, is soft brown eyes met yours, vulnerability painted over them. "The doctor said its twins, said we'd know the gender in two more months." Kabal saying "we" was a relief, calming your heart rate and the warmth running up your throat. Y/n swallowed back the potential nervous vomit before stating, "I thought you were going to leave me."

Kabal flinched slightly, as though you'd physically punched him. "Why would I ever do that? Y/n...although sooner than expected, this is always wanted. A peaceful life, loving kids, loving wife..if you are offering me that, I would never pass it up."

Y/n was about to reply before you stopped. Wife? You involuntarily smiled and blushed at the idea before verbalizing that exact question, "Wife?"

Kabal smiled before getting up and speeding around to your side of the bed, digging in his pocket.

"I know I am bottom-feeder, a nobody." His brows furrowed for a moment, but then his face softened. "But you make me feel like I am somebody, Y/n. I forget the monster I see in the mirror every morning. You love me like no one has ever loved me, Y/n. There is nothing I want more to spend the rest of my life with you and this family we're making. Will you marry me, Y/n?" The beautiful black and diamond ring sparkled brightly.

Of course you said yes.

Interactions:

Kano: "Don't think just cause Kabal knocked ya up I am givin either of ya a break."

Y/N: "Wouldn't expect anything less, cue ball."

Kano: "Just for that, I am goin to make sure ya suffer."

Kano: "Ill take that as a yes."

Now Y/N was not in that department or category. No you were just a normal black woman, working as a hairstylist at hair shop.

You only knew about this, because one of the customers were the champion. Johnny Cage himself, who requested you to style him up personally. Because it was said around Hollywood that you were skillful with women and men hair.

You took him in and he loved it, and you all became friends ever sense. With the constant offer of Johnny asking you to be hired as his personal hairstylist. Which you declined respectfully.

You enjoy working at the shop with your girlfriends and doing things for smaller clients.

More of the workers started coming in, pre uniform on.

“Don’t worry, he’s really good.” You confirmed to him, “Now were any of you getting anything done, that’s not getting like haircut kinda fades and whatnot?” You asked, looking at them. Then focused your attention back on Liu Kang.

Who caught it as soon as you looked, he gave you a kind smile. You got flustered a bit, having butterflies in your stomach. Quickly looking away.

“Actually yeah, Liu Kang needs his Princess locs trimmed and a touch up from yours truly, as well.” Johnny told you.

“I am alright Johnny Cage, I do not need it. I would hate to bother this lovely lady into doing my hair.” Liu Kang spoke up.

“Nonsense honey, it’s our job. That’s how we make a living, I can take y-“

“WAIT!” You interrupted Jamika, a little too loudly.

“Hehe, sorry. Can I speak to you really quick. It’ll only be a moment Mr. Liu Kang.” You smirked nervously.

“Just Liu Kang is fine.” He smiled at you.

You quickly dragged Jamika and Johnny away to the backrooms.

“Girl what is up with you today?” Jamika asked frustrated.

You just smiled shaking your head at him, you sat Liu Kang in your chair. You asked him he can remove his head wear, which he happily obliged.

Rubbing your fingers in his hair, more so to ruffle through to see what you’re working with. His hair was soft but corse, feels like it hasn’t been properly conditioned.

“So how long has it been sense you had your hair done?” You asked nicely.

“Just Y/N is fine Liu Kang. And no, I just like to know my clients hair and if they prepped before hand. Don’t worry sweetheart, you are in good hands. I’m a give you the special hair wash and conditioning treatment.” You told him excitedly.

You brought him to the hair wash station, and begun getting to work on washing and messaging his hair. Which you could tell he was loving, with his eyes closed and satisfied sounds.

“Thank you.” You said shyly, as you continued his hair. You finished and gave Liu Kang a mirror to see it.

He looked at it, and was happy how it turned out and thanked you. He asked you how much it cost and you told him that it was on the house.

“That is very kind of you Y/N but I couldn’t. You have given me a wonderful service, I do not want to just take it for free.” Liu Kang was not going to take your generosity and not give anything in return.

“Well… If you really want to show your appreciation. How about you treat me to a meal, that’s my final offer.” Y/N smirked at him, and she could’ve sworn she had butterflies in her stomach. Because that goddamn smile of his was killing her.

“Are you asking me out Y/N?” Liu Kang asked Y/N he appreciates her boldness.

“Well that depends Liu Kang, will you accept the offer?”

“Of Course.”

“Then yes I am asking you out.” You finally spoke up openly. You can hear your girls screaming and cheering you on.

“I am busy this week.” Liu Kang informed you.

“Then how about next week on Saturday, I’m off that day. 5 o clock, I know this good Chinese restaurant. It’s super popular.” You suggested smiling.

“That can be arranged. Thank you again Y/N, I must head back. It was an honor meeting you all.”

“Right back at you daddy!” As soon as Tonya said that. Jamika threw a wig brush at her. Gaining an ‘Ouch’ from Tonya holding her head.

“What the hell is wrong with you! Close yo mouth, and Thank You for stopping by Liu Kang. You and your friends are welcome back any time.”

Everyone was telling them bye, “Ayy it was nice talking to you dogg. I would love it, if y’all can give me a few pointers. Teach me some stuff ya know?”

“Of course, we’re always open for those who want to learn. We will stay in touch.” Kung Lao told him. They clapped hands, Malcolm pulling him into a bro hug.

“No doubt, no doubt. Have a blessed day bro.”

Kung Lao thanked him again for fixing him up nicely. Before they left you called out to Liu Kang asking him how are you supposed to contact him.

“Just tell Johnny.”

With that they were gone, it was a moment of silence before one old client spoke waiting in the chair.

“So ain’t nobody gonna say anything about the nigga with the glowing eyes?”

“Really!? I thought those were just contacts.” Tonya looked shocked.

“You is one slow ass child, I tell you the truth.” Fredrick shaking his head.

You felt like a weight has been lifted off your chest and you slumped in your chair. But now you were very much excited about your upcoming date.

“Gone head girl, get you some of that Kung Pao Chicken.” Jamika snapped her fingers three times. You rolled your eyes, you turned around and looked at yourself in the mirror.

You saw your new growth coming through and need your locs retwist and styled.

“Jamika could you touch up my hair for next week.”

Jamika nodded, and you were hoping this date goes well and praying it does. It felt like God was giving you another chance at romance.

He didn’t think much after the encounter, until he found you drinking at the same bar a few days later. He’d usually come here after days of being away. Why wasn’t your powers working? 

Some men weren’t sure to help because you were a helpless nude woman. Some didn’t budge from their defense stance to protect where you were. As you ask for help again, the lines of men depart in the middle, making room for one particular man. His head was held high, and even through your pending hypothermia, you could tell he was the one in charge. Everyone and you meant every single man that your eyes darted between, bowed out of respect. 

You felt confused as your eyes met the man who stared down at you with an expression you couldn’t read. Your fingers were going numb to the point that they felt like they were burning off, and you grasped at your shivering limbs before you felt one of the men throw something over your bare body. 

“Someone get something for her to cover up.” was the last thing you’d heard before everything went black. 

It’s been weeks since you’ve been here. After you are found, you grow accustomed to your surroundings and the people around you—the Lin Kuei. Everyone around you seemed so strict, so disciplined—so strong. But it made sense, considering who their leader was—the Grandmaster. From your knowledge, he was the one who asked for you to be covered up before you blacked out. But besides that awkward interaction, you haven’t seen him around the estate. Some told you that you spent weeks in bed and he would come to see if you woke up, a task many parts of the Lin Kuei felt odd was happening. The Grandmaster frequently sees if the strange naked woman has woken from her slumber. 

Now that you’ve been up and about for weeks, you had to admit to yourself that you weren’t used to the cold weather, but you’ll get used to it until you figure out what was going on. Your memories were still a blur. You remembered being on a boat and eventually in water for what seemed like days. Even as the memory of that churns around your brain, you still sense the feeling of familiarity here. 

While you poorly attempted to place cups on a tray, humming along to a tune stuck in your head is ultimately the only thing keeping you sane. Just as you finished the assigned tasks, you could hear footsteps enter the estate's kitchen. From your time here, you managed to recognize many by the way they walked. Madam Xia was the head handmaiden in charge of every single handmaiden who served under Lin Kuei. Many of them have skills from basic combat training, cooking, sewing, medical, and some other things. Madam Xia has been with the fraction since she was younger, worked her way to the top, and has now overseen you since you were new. 

You didn’t have any of these skills that the others had, so you were as confused as ever about why they placed you here. The man you met some weeks ago, The Grandmaster. From Madam Xia’s mouth herself, she told you that It was his idea until your memory came back or if he knew how to handle you and your situation. 

“Your head is always in the clouds, young lady.” Madam Xia pointed out. 

“It’s the only thing I can do, Madam Xia.” You sighed as you placed another item on the tray. “If you can’t tell, I haven’t made any friends.” Your eyes avert to glance at your reflection in the shiny silver tray.

“I mean, granted, the Grandmaster choosing you to be his handmaiden has caused some ladies to be uneasy.” Madam Xia’s voice trails off when she realizes this is the first you will hear the news. She had you doing many tasks for a reason.

“I don’t want that role.” You responded with a quickness. “I’m undeserving of such a high role. Especially since I have just got here. I’m still learning many things and think a more polished person would fit better.” Your words moved so fast that Madam Xia had to grasp at your arms to affirm you. 

“The Grandmaster chose you personally.” Her chestnut-colored eyes scanned your face, watching the fear leave your eyes as her hands rubbed at your arms. “You’ll do fine; he chose you for a reason.” She smiles at you so hard that her eyes crinkle close. “Now, your first task is to give him this evening tea. If he has any, you’ll just place the tray down and step back for other orders.” 

“That can’t be that hard.” You pointed out with a sly grin. 

“It won’t be. Just place the tea on the table.” She explained. 

You were beyond nervous; you weren’t afraid to admit that, especially with the whispers around the estate about the Grandmaster. With this role, any screw-ups could cost you your life, and you didn’t even think he would harm you. It would be the others that would do it. His men that stood loyally by his side. The other handmaidens you were sure could kill a man with the same utensils they shine. 

“Madam Xia, do you know why the Grandmaster chose me?” You asked as you placed the tea on the tray. 

“Young lady, I have told you to stop questioning his decisions. The decision is finalized, and don’t mess it up.” Xia had placed some more things on the tray for you to take to the Grandmaster before he was to rest. “You’re already an odd one out within the others—messing this up could get you exiled.” She fixes your attire from the back, and you realize her words sent a chill down your spine. 

Madam Xia didn’t lie. You were the odd one out. A woman that the Lin Kuei found in the cold, starving, and no clue how she got there in the first place. They didn’t have to welcome you here in a place with some of the best fighters and protectors, but they did. Madam Xia knew that ensuring you knew how everything operates around here would be a challenge. But the older woman never backed down from a challenge. She always said you had a pretty face and voice that could comfort all. But another pretty face apart from the already bonded handmaidens and warriors in the Lin Kuei only caused you to be iced out by the others. With this opportunity given to you on what seems like a silver platter, it didn’t help your attempt to make friends. 

“Remember, your belongings are already in your new room.” Madam Xia pointed out. 

“My new room?” You questioned. Your eyebrows furrow together with confusion written all over your face. 

“You’ll be serving the Grandmaster now, and it’s only right for you to be closer to him.” Madam Xia gave you one glance at you before speaking again. “I have trained you well, young lady, and you have learned very quickly. The Grandmaster has chosen you for a reason, and we may not know why, but we trust that he has made a good choice. Now, hurry and deliver his nightly tea before it gets cold.” Her finger points at you before she disappears in the darkness of the exit of the heated kitchen.

As soon as she disappeared into the darkness, you placed some extra things on the tray and finally made your journey towards the Grandmaster’s chambers. You mentally remember everything you’ve learned. You were to serve his tea from which side to how much to pour into the cups. You even timed your steps from the kitchen to the Grandmaster’s chambers. The three-minute walk outside in the cold weather could have any time shivering and teeth chattering together. But even with the cold weather that had you thinking you should have wrapped a cloak around your body, two men stood outside his quarters' entrance—standing tall with their heads held high as if it was the best feeling to be guarding the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei. 

“I have brought the Grandmaster’s evening tea.” You bow before you can hear the door tugged open and immediately step inside. 

The warmth of his chambers made you let out a sigh of relief. You bow your head out of respect, “I have brought your tea,” You put the tea on the small table to the left before finally lifting your head to get a glance at him. 

You were pretty new, having only seen him once since that day. But the mere whispers from others intrigued you. They described him as stern, serious, and strong. That’s the energy you get from even being in his presence as you place the tea on the table. You went to pour the hot liquid into the cup, but he firmly stopped you. Indicating he can do it himself. But soon, his hand extended, gesturing for you to take the place before him. You did, sitting on your knees as you watched him pour the tea in the cups.

You purposely put two cups just in case he had guests. 

“I have assigned this role to you to keep a close eye on you.” He explained. “While you’re here, you will follow the rules just like everyone else until you regain your memory.” He slides the cup of tea across towards you.

“I expressed to Madam Xia that I feel like this role could have gone to someone much more experienced.” Your eyes stare at your reflection in the hot liquid. “But, if you assigned this role to me because you don’t trust me. I understand.” 

“It’s just strange.” He sips from the cup and makes eye contact with you, maybe to catch you in some form of lie.

Now, you were able to get a complete look at him. The scar that decorated his face traveled from his forehead, passed his eyes, and down his cheek. His dark brown eyes scan your face before speaking again, “Your training starts tomorrow morning.” He finishes the cup of tea just as you sipped out your cup. 

“My training?” Your eyebrows furrowed together, and you sat up straight. “How can I be your personal aid if I’m training?” 

“You can’t be my personal aid if you can’t protect yourself.” He backfired, leaving you there to bite back a response. 

Your lips went to argue because you could indeed protect yourself. But with your powers not working now, you were as useless as possible. You could tell the training would be intense just by the way each member of the Lin Kuei carried themselves. It was as if they paraded around, always to be guarded and ready for everything. 

“So, rest tonight, and I’ll see you in the morning.” 

You blinked a couple of times to process what he was saying before standing up quickly. You bowed out of respect before speaking, “I hope you sleep well, sir.” You turn to leave, watching as the doors open for you, and you search to find the room that Madam Xia helped set up for you. 

As the Grandmaster said, you had training tomorrow. It was intense training from the crack of dawn when the sun peaked through the icy mountains to late at night when the temperatures dropped drastically. Each day you spent with the Lin Kuei, you grew accustomed to everything. The Grandmaster and you grew close so you no longer mind being by his side. You took the position with more pride now—even if some still didn’t agree.

 You thought that you were put into this strange predicament for a reason. You thought your powers being gone was a sign that maybe you weren’t meant to have them from the start. That the familiar connection you felt with the Grandmaster was a sign. 

“Can I admit something that may come off as strange, Grandmaster?” You asked before you were about to leave. 

“Kuai.” He corrects firmly as he was looking over the papers in front of him. 

“I don’t think that’s approt-” Your eyes met him and you felt your cheeks heat at the way he looked at you. So, you corrected yourself. “Kuai, this feels familiar. Like it has happened before.”

You watch as his eyebrows scrunch up in confusion. “Has your memory finally returned?” He questions. 

“I don’t  think so, but this feels familiar.” You repeated. “As if we’ve met before. I know it’s strange, and I can just be exhausted due to today’s work, but I just thought to tell you for some reason.” 

That reason is that you were yearning for him to reaffirm your own thoughts. But he didn’t, so you found yourself explaining further your own thoughts. You stepped further into the room towards him before sighing, “I just feel like we were meant to cross paths for some reason. I was found that night for a reason. My powers are gone for a reason.” 

“Powers? I think you just need some rest, Y/N.” He points out before his eyes look back to the things in front of him. “It’s been a long day, and you’ve been out in the cold for hours.” 

You wanted to argue against his words, but you extended your hand and immediately touched his. His eyes stared at you with a shocked expression before you spoke, “Tell me about your day, Kuai.” Your lips curve into a kind smile similar to what you would do before you met him. 

You watch as his eyes dilute before he’s rambling on about his day. Your heart quickened at the sight of this because your powers actually worked. You thought maybe that wouldn’t come back due to your memory of what happened that night being a big blur. But they did, you dropped Kuai’s hand and stood up frantically. His face scrunches up in worry as he watches you disappear out of the room in a hurry. 

As your powers were slowly coming back, you avoided Kuai as much as possible. If you weren’t doing your duties as his handmaiden, you stayed in your room to avoid any other contact. Hell, you thought it was a bit dangerous for you to even communicate with other members of the Lin Kuei. One phrase could cause a person to be under your control. One song by the name of The Siren’s Song could make a person go mad. And you didn’t want to hurt Kuai or what he has built as the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei. 

As you were going to do your nightly duties, you felt everyone staring at you. Some whispering and pointing as you walked toward the kitchen. 

“Y/N!” Madam Xia approached you quickly. “Please tell me, the rumors aren’t true.” 

“What are you talking about?” You asked as you looked at the elderly woman. “What’s not true?”

“That you attempted to poison the Grandmaster.” She whispers the last part as if it were a sin that could get her cursed. 

“What? I would never! Who would spread such a rumor?”

“Y/N!” 

Kuai’s voice interrupted your following words to Madam Xia. His head motions for you to follow behind him, and you hurriedly do what you were told. You weren’t sure if you should be confused or angered. With each step, one of the assassins that you were positive could take your life—attempted to follow behind. But Kuai gave them a look to cause them to back down. 

You didn’t like how silent he was as you followed behind him. The only thing you can hear is your own footsteps against the stone as you walk by glaring eyes—glaring eyes that feel like daggers with each step you take. You didn’t understand how anyone would believe the lie that you would do such a thing. Poison a man you’ve grown to care for more than you expected. A man that you were in love with. Obviously, you were getting framed—you didn’t know by whom, but you were going to figure it out. You were sure you had mastered your powers to get someone to admit it (even though this was going against Kuai’s wishes). 

As you stepped into the room with Kuai, the door shutting sent a nervous chill down your spine. You were hoping he wouldn’t believe such nonsense. But you knew he had to take such accusation seriously as the Grandmaster. You knew his most loyal men were outside those closed doors waiting for the cue to grab you or deadly enough—kill you if it was needed. But as your eyes watch him take comfort behind the chabudai table and rub his hands over his face, you can’t quite read his expression. You couldn’t quite read his body language. 

It was as if you were standing before him for the first time when you were assigned to be by his side as his handmaiden. Your head bows in defeat because how can you defend your name without any evidence to back it out? The fact that the others of the handmaidens didn’t enjoy your company either didn’t help. But you knew the Grandmaster.

Kano couldn't believe his eyes as he watched Erron Black, a rival he had crossed paths with many times in the past, shamelessly flirting with you.

Erron constantly looking at you up and down flashing his charming smile trying his hardest to make you feel enchanted by him,

As Kano watched from Afar His jaw clenched, and a dangerous glint flashed in his eye.

You and Kano have had some tension between you two before, recently you guys almost shared a kiss 2 weeks ago on a mission on a military base but obviously went to shit as it was ruined when Sonya and Johnny made a surprise ambush with Cassie& the others BUT THAT IS BESIDES THE POINT ( lmk if u want a singular fic on that)

As Erron Black continued his charming advances, Kano decided he'd had enough. He swaggered over, his usual bravado on full display. "Well, well, what's goin' on here?" he sneered, casting a knowing glance at you.

Erron raised an eyebrow, not one to back down from a challenge. "Just havin' a friendly chat with your lovely friend here, Kano," he replied, his eyes locked with yours.

Of course Kano's response was a mixture of his characteristic sarcasm and intimidation. "Friendly, eh? Y'know, darling, this one here might be a good shot with his guns, but I'm the real danger."

Erron chuckled, his voice smooth as whiskey. "Well, now, Kano, I've heard about your dangerous streak, but I reckon we're all just tryin' to have a good time, aren’t we hun “ he says the last 3 words looking at you

You felt like a pawn in a bizarre showdown between these two strong personalities. Kano's actions were driven by his jealousy and possessive nature, but there was an underlying concern for your feelings.

Kano leaned in closer to you, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "You see, sweetheart, he might be good with a gun, but I've got a silver tongue to match."

Erron Black, undeterred, leaned in from the other side. "Now, sugar, you don't have to choose just yet. We can all have a little fun."

As the bickering went on and on it was extremely obvious Kano isn’t down for a good time and doesn’t like sharing what is his, as it continued, you couldn't help but find the absurdity of the situation amusing.

Kano's antics, while often misguided, were a testament to the depth of his affection for you and the way he tried to assert his presence, even in the face of competition from someone as charismatic as Erron Black.

Kano's grin widened as he locked eyes with Erron. "A competition, then? Winner gets a kiss from the lovely Y/n."

Erron smirked, accepting the challenge. "You're on, Kano. May the best man win."

In the end, Erron Black may have started the flirtatious banter, but Kano's presence was a bold reminder that you were a coveted individual, and he was willing to go to great lengths to make sure you knew it. The flirting contest, despite its chaotic and comical moments, was a testament to the unconventional dynamics at play.
