The bustling bar was a sanctuary of rhythm and revelry, a haven where music echoed through the air and laughter intertwined with the clinking of glasses. Its dimly lit interior exuded a vintage charm, with walls adorned by colorful posters of iconic bands from the era. The aroma of spirits and the familiar buzz of conversation enveloped the space, creating an ambiance that oozed with nostalgia and possibility.
Amidst the lively crowd, Eddie found himself drawn to the bar, its magnetic energy pulling him closer. His eyes fell upon you, the enchanting bartender who seemed to command the room with a flick of your wrist and a radiant smile. He approached the counter with a grin, eager to engage in their delightful banter.
"Hey there, stranger," You greeted him, a mischievous glimmer in her eyes. The word "stranger" was delivered with a playful lilt, a nickname that hinted at the connection they were about to forge.
Eddie leaned against the bar, his voice brimming with charm. "Well, if I'm a stranger, then let me be the one who gets to know you better."
You chuckled, your fingers gracefully maneuvering the cocktail shakers. "Oh, so you're a smooth talker, huh? We'll see about that."
As the night unfolded, Eddie and you engaged in a delightful dance of words amidst the ebb and flow of the bar's enchanting melodies. The clinking of ice against glass, the occasional burst of laughter, and the vibrant hum of conversation formed the backdrop to your blossoming connection.
Eddie would order a drink, taking in the eclectic playlist that filled the room with nostalgia. You, always attentive, would slip playful comments into your conversation, occasionally referring to him as "stranger" as a playful reminder of their initial encounter.
Over time, your flirty exchanges at the bar evolved into something deeper and more intimate. The magnetism between you and Eddie grew stronger with each passing day, drawing you both into a passionate liaison that extended beyond the confines of the club.
As the night grew darker and the bar closed its doors, you found solace in each other's company. Eddie's presence became a constant, a reassuring presence waiting for you after your shift ended. Together, you would slip away to secret hideaways, where the world faded into insignificance, and it was only the two of you.
In the hushed corners of hotel rooms or the hidden embrace of secluded spots, you explored the depths of desire and indulged in the pleasures of each other's company. It was a friends-with-benefits arrangement, an unspoken agreement that allowed you both to revel in the physical connection without the complications of a committed relationship.
The moments shared were passionate and intoxicating. The touch of his hands, the taste of his lips, the way his body melded with yours—each encounter was a symphony of sensations, a dance of unspoken longing and untamed passion. In those stolen moments, you found release and a refuge from the demands of the world.
But as the flames of desire burned brightly, so too did the risk of falling deeper. Moments of tenderness would slip through the cracks, fleeting glimpses of a connection that extended beyond the physical. It was in those stolen glances, in the whispered words of affection, that the lines between friendship and something more became blurred.
The arrangement of a friend with benefits relationship was both thrilling and bittersweet. It allowed you to explore your desires, to indulge in the heat of the moment, yet it left the door ajar for the possibility of yearning for more. Every encounter was an intoxicating blend of pleasure and the unspoken question of what might lie beyond the confines of your secret trysts.
Together, you walked a tightrope, balancing between the exhilaration of passion and the lingering desire for something deeper. The memories created in those hidden moments would forever be etched in your hearts, a testament to the connection shared and the complexities of navigating a relationship that blurred the boundaries of friendship and desire.
You and Eddie carried on with what you had, you preferred not to name something so good, you just lived and loved every moment, but the love of desire and fulfillment of it made you careless. You sat on the edge of gour worn-out couch, your hands trembling as you clutched the positive pregnancy test. Thoughts raced through your mind like a whirlwind, and a mix of fear and excitement coursed through your veins. You needed to share this life-altering news with Eddie, although the fear of his reaction filled your chest every second pass.
With shaky fingers, you dialed Eddie's number, your voice filled with urgency and vulnerability as you pleaded, "Eddie, please come over. There's something important I need to tell you."
Minutes later, Eddie arrived at your doorstep, his face etched with concern. As he entered the apartment, his eyes met yours, searching for answers. The air was heavy with tension, thick with the weight of the news about to be shared.
"You're scaring me, you called me by my name on the phone." Eddie chuckled until he took knowledge of your worried features. "Is everything alright?"
Your voice quivered as you handed him the pregnancy test, your fingers brushing against each other in an electric moment. "I just found out," you whispered, your voice barely above a whisper and your hands trembling. "I'm pregnant, Eddie."
Eddie's eyes widened, his breath catching in his throat. The room fell silent, the gravity of the situation sinking in. He stepped closer to you, his voice filled with a mix of awe and disbelief. "A baby?" he murmured, his eyes never leaving yours. "You're carrying our child?"
You nodded, tears glistening in your eyes. "Yes, Eddie. What the hell are we gonna do?"
Emotions cascaded over Eddie's face like a tidal wave. The initial shock gave way to a profound sense of responsibility and determination. He closed the distance between you, gently cupping your face in his hands. "Y/N, I know we didn't plan any of this, not at all, but I'm here to support you" he says, his voice filled with raw emotion. "And being honest with you, knowing that we have a child together, it brings me more comfort than having this baby with anyone else. Of course, if that's your choice... having the baby."
"I want to have the baby." You say crying and he hugs you closer, conveying comfort.
Tears spilled down your cheeks as you clung to Eddie's words, your heart swelling with a mix of gratitude and love. In that tender moment, they shared an unspoken understanding that this unexpected twist of fate was an opportunity for growth and a chance to explore the depths of their connection. And of course, you agreed to be your best selves for this child.
After hours of talking that morning, you decided that it would be better to cut off any romantic attitudes between you, for the sake of the baby it would be better not to confuse anything from now on.
With your hands entwined, you faced the unknown together, ready to embrace the journey of parenthood as a united front. Little did you know that this new chapter would not only reveal the strength of your love but also redefine your understanding of yourselves and the remarkable bond you shared.
You were feeling horrible, the nausea wouldn't leave you alone since last morning and your head ache as if a carnival float was giving a parade in it. Eddie was by your side all this time, helping you with everything you needed and if you were honest that messed with your feelings, you knew it was his duty as this baby's father, but the cold that grew in your stomach when he took care of you was inevitable.
You had your eyes closed but you couldn't sleep, you could hear Roundtree in the kitchen preparing something for you to have dinner and you decide to get up and go to him. You stop at the entrance to the kitchen, an involuntary smile spreads across your face when you see the way he was trying to understand the recipe.
You watched the clock on the wall pass the hours and your chest tightened at the thought of him leaving your place, his presence made you feel more relaxed about all of this. You involuntarily rest your hand on your belly that already showed your baby's development, you sigh loudly catching the bassist's attention.
"You alright there?" He asks, and you try to hold in a laugh when you see him in an apron. "Did our little bean let you rest?"
"Not actually." You smile weakly, approaching him. "Would you mind spending the night?"
Eddie's body freezes, he wonders several times if his ears had heard correctly, he turns to you analyzing every detail in your face for any sign of joke or humor, and when he doesn't find it he worries. "Are you that bad? Don't you want me to take you to the hospital?"
You roll your eyes and instantly give up making the invitation, maybe you had misunderstood what he felt. You leave the kitchen disappointed, "I'm going to my room."
Worried, Roundtree turned off the fire and made his way towards the bedroom, following the sound of your voice. As he entered the room, he found you lying on the bed, your eyes fixed on the ceiling, lost in your thoughts.
"I like it when you're here," you whispered, your voice filled with a mix of vulnerability and longing. Sensing his presence, you turned your head towards him, your eyes locking with his. Roundtree sat on the edge of the bed, his gaze attentive as he listened intently to your words.
"I want you to stay, but if you don't... It's okay, I understand," you continued, your voice tinged with a hint of sadness.
Roundtree's expression softened, his hand reaching out to gently stroke your leg. "You know I'll do anything to help you through the pregnancy," he reassured, his voice filled with genuine concern. "I'll stay with you."
Despite his words, an underlying sense of unease lingered on his face, his turmoil evident. He felt the weight of the situation, the frustration of not knowing how to improve things or make you feel better. "Look, I don't know what I did to upset you but–"
Before he could finish his sentence, you closed the distance between you, surprising him with an unexpected kiss. It was a passionate and spontaneous gesture, born out of the emotions swirling between you. Roundtree's initial surprise gave way to a reciprocated desire as he kissed you back, his lips meeting yours in a moment of shared vulnerability and longing.
In that instant, the worries and uncertainties melted away, replaced by the warmth of your connection. The kiss spoke volumes, expressing the depth of your feelings for each other, transcending the words that had gone unspoken.
"I want you to stay because of me." You say after the kiss, feeling his breath hitch on your face. "That's what I want, I want you."
"My precious…" He smiles, closing his eyes. "Are you sure?"
"I don't want you to just be my baby's daddy." You say frustrated, pulling away from him a little. "Stay with me..."
Eddie was holding back a smile, and you knew he wanted to make some joke of the situation, or of course, drop a line at you. "Just say it stranger."
"So you want me to be your daddy, uh?" The smirk that grew on his face made you let out a genuine laugh.
"You're ridiculous!" You exclaim pulling him down onto the bed. "Now cuddle with me."
Amidst the journey of pregnancy, you and Eddie found yourselves navigating uncharted emotional territory. The anticipation of becoming parents together brought a newfound awareness of your feelings, deepening your connection in unexpected ways.
As the months passed, you couldn't help but notice Eddie's increased affection and care towards you. He would accompany you to doctor's appointments, his hand resting protectively on your growing belly, his eyes filled with awe and wonder. The way he spoke to your unborn child, whispering words of love and promises of a bright future, touched your heart in ways you had never imagined.
One quiet morning, as the dawn cast a soft glow into the room, you and Eddie found yourselves sitting side by side on the edge of the bed. You placed Eddie's hand on your belly, feeling the gentle kicks and movements of your little one.
Eddie's voice was filled with tenderness as he addressed your unborn child. "Hey there, little one, they're kicking" he whispered the last part at you with a sparkle in his eyes and you can't help but smile, his voice carrying a mixture of awe and excitement. "You're growing stronger every day, and we can't wait to meet you. Your mom and I love you more than words can express."
You watched Eddie, your heart swelling with a mixture of joy and affection. "That's right, baby," you chimed in, your voice filled with warmth. "You're surrounded by so much love. We're here for you, every step of the way."
Suddenly, your baby let out a particularly enthusiastic kick, causing you to laugh. "Looks like our little kicker is ready for some action," you exclaimed, a playful gleam in your eyes.
Eddie chuckled, his hand still resting on your belly. "I think our future rockstar is already rehearsing for their first concert," he joked, his voice filled with amusement.
You playfully nudged Eddie's arm. "Well, just don't let Warren know about it cuz since I told him that the baby won't stop kicking, he's been to like twenty different stores looking for a mini drum set," you say, laughing as you remembered the drummers words.
Eddie feigned a hurt expression, placing a hand over his heart dramatically. "It's not like my child is going to play the drums, it's business will be string instruments, right little bean?" he retorted, kissing your belly, a twinkle in his eyes.
You both burst into laughter, your shared humor creating an atmosphere of joy and lightness. In that moment, you realized that amidst the seriousness of pregnancy and impending parenthood, there was room for laughter and playfulness.
As the first rays of sunlight peeked through the curtains, you and Eddie sat in laughter-filled silence, your hearts intertwined with the tiny heartbeat within your womb. The sunlight hits your naked body and your boyfriend admires you as if you are the most beautiful work in the world, you feel a flush on your cheeks and you look away.
"Are you embarrassed now, my precious?" He says laying closer to you, kissing your cheek. "After everything we did tonight?" He says with a sly look and you smack him on the arm, burying your face in the pillow.
"I need to sleep, the baby hasn't been quiet all night." You close your eyes pretending to sleep.
"Hey baby, let your mother sleep, daddy tired her today" Eddie whispers close to your navel, as if sharing a secret with your child.
You sit up with a serious look on your face, your face now hot with embarrassment. "Hey! Don't talk about these things with the baby."
"My bad my bad." He says after a series of laughs from you, pulling you closer to him. "Now come sleep in my arms, my precious." He kisses the top of your head and you feel safe and sound.
Inside the bustling recording studio, Daisy Jones and the Six poured their hearts into the music, unaware of the impending news. Eddie's fingers glided across the bass strings, his mind fully absorbed in the melodies.
Suddenly, Teddy Price, their producer, burst into the room, his face flushed with urgency.
"Eddie, I've got something important," Teddy called out, waving for them to stop playing.
Eddie takes off his headphones, waiting for the older man to tell him what was going on. "Y/N's waters broke. She's on her way to the hospital. It's time," he announced.
"What?!" Warren yelled, jumping from his drum set.
Everyone turns to Rojas with raised eyebrows, he was excited about the idea of being godfather from the beginning of your pregnancy. Eddie felt his heart pounding like a wild animal, it was time, he was going to meet his baby.
Desperate they go to Warren's van, the streets of LA were congested with people returning to their homes after a long day at work and Warren felt he was going to have a breakdown.
"¡Vete a la mierda, cabrón!" Rojas cursed yet another driver who passed in front of him, his hands were sweating and he was struggling to concentrate.
"Warren is already the second exit you missed." Billy says irritated, he saw Eddie desperate in the passenger seat. "Let's change places."
"It's not your goddaughter being born, I'm the one driving!" Warren speaks sullenly at the situation.
"First of all, we don't even know if it's a girl, second of all...Quit being reckless!" Billy gets up from the back of the van taking Warren's belt off.
"Do you want to kill me?" Rojas says as he feels the grip of the feeling released from him.
"Get out of there Warren!" Billy pulls the drummer to the back of the van as the vehicle stops at the light.
"Okay okay, but only because I wanted to!" He says switching places with the older Dunne, Eddie makes a face when he sees Rojas' ass on his face during this change of places.
Eddie stepped into the hospital, his heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and nervousness. The scent of antiseptic hung in the air, mingling with the faint aroma of flowers brought by well-wishers. The walls were adorned with faded paintings, remnants of an era gone by, while the sound of muffled voices and beeping machines created a symphony of activity.
He followed the signs that led him down a long corridor, his footsteps echoing against the tiled floor. The atmosphere was hushed, the occasional sound of a baby's cry punctuating the stillness. The soft hum of conversations between doctors and nurses drifted through the hallways, adding to the sense of purpose that permeated the space.
As Eddie approached the door to the labor and delivery ward, he paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts. The sound of his own heartbeat filled his ears, the weight of impending fatherhood settling upon his shoulders. He took a deep breath, finding solace in the knowledge that you were just beyond that door, bringing your child into the world.
Roundtree pushed open the door to the labor and delivery ward, and his eyes immediately fell upon you, lying in the hospital bed. Beads of perspiration dotted your forehead, evidence of the intense physical exertion you were going through. The room was filled with a symphony of sounds—the rhythmic beeping of monitors, the hushed whispers of medical staff, and your own deep, controlled breaths.
Your face was a canvas of mixed emotions, a cocktail of determination, pain, and anticipation. Your brows furrowed with each contraction, the waves of discomfort coursing through your body. The lines of your face tightened, and your grip on the bed rails tightened in response to the increasing intensity.
The air in the room seemed to hum with a sense of purpose and urgency. Nurses and doctors moved around you, their voices soft and comforting as they offered encouragement and monitored your progress. Their gentle touch and soothing words were like anchors, providing a sense of support in the midst of the storm.
As Eddie approached your bedside, his heart ached seeing you in this state. He took your hand in his, intertwining his fingers with yours, offering a steadying presence. He could feel the strength of your grip, a testament to your resilience and determination. His eyes never wavered from your face, his love and admiration shining through the concern etched on his features.
Each contraction rippled through your body like a storm, intensifying and then subsiding, leaving you breathless but resolute. The pain etched lines of raw vulnerability on your face, but there was also an undeniable beauty in the strength you displayed, the unwavering commitment to bring life into the world.
Amidst the physical sensations that consumed you, your eyes met Eddie's, finding solace in his presence. In that shared gaze, unspoken words passed between you, a silent acknowledgment of the journey you were on together. His touch and unwavering support were a lifeline, grounding you in the midst of the whirlwind of labor.
As the medical team continued to guide you through each contraction, their voices blending with the symphony of beeps and your own primal vocalizations, Eddie stood by your side, a pillar of unwavering support. He whispered words of encouragement, his voice a gentle melody amidst the chaos, reminding you of the strength within you.
In that labor and delivery room, time seemed to bend and sway, as if the world outside ceased to exist. The pain and intensity were all-consuming, but through it all, a glimmer of hope and anticipation shone in your eyes. Eddie, witnessing your strength and perseverance, knew in his heart that together you would weather this storm, emerging on the other side with a precious gift—a new life, their baby, a testament to the love you shared.
Amid the pain that fills your body like a devastating wave you hear your baby's cry and such a sound in your eardrums makes you cry too. The doctor announces the arrival of his daughter and Eddie smiles widely when he sees the crumpled face of the baby, Aurora Roundtree, his new reason to live was right there for just a fell second and changed everything for him.
"You did it, my precious.” He kisses the top of her head. “Our daughter is beautiful."
You didn't know what to expect, after all everything with your boyfriend's band was always beyond any kind of imagination and possibility. Although you took care of your newborn together with her father, you feared what the presence of your friends could bring.
"Warren is the last I tell you." You say into the phone, as Eddie naps your daughter. "If you bring weed over here, I'll rip you apart."
Eddie starts laughing softly, trying not to wake up little Aurora who was sleeping peacefully in his arms. When she finally falls asleep he puts her in her crib, then hugs you tenderly.
"Don't you miss some weed darling?" he asks in a playful tone and you pat his chest.
They didn't take long to arrive, Camila Billy and Julia were the first. The little toddler approaches you with a gift and hands it to you with a shy smile.
"Thank you Jules." You say bending down to pick up the package. "Do you want to see the little bean?"
The little one waves shyly, hiding behind her father's leg, you hold out your hand for her to lead her to her daughter's crib. Julia stands nearby admiring the baby curiously and you stand beside her while Billy, Camila and Eddie talk.
Some time later Daisy arrives with Karen, both with their proper gifts in hand, you thank them and introduce the little one to them and as time goes by you talk and eat the snack prepared by Eddie moments before they arrive.
When the sound goes down, you notice the delay of Graham and Warren and you get worried, both of them didn't answer the phone at the house in Laurel Canyon and that increased the anguish of not knowing where they are.
You hear the classic rumble of the van's old engine and it automatically quiets your heartbeats, but before it becomes a pattern you hear a loud noise followed by an "Ouch".
Interestingly, everyone leaves for the front door of the house, finding Warren with his hands on his toes, Graham scratching his head and a relatively large box with a sticker that says 'Fragile.'
"What the fuck is this Rojas?" You question while laughing at the situation.
Warren ignores the pain shooting up from his toes into his body, spreads his arms and points to the box with excitement. "Guess who found a mini drum set?"
...

the way i loved you || eddie roundtree x reader
Tumblr media
tw : kissing, making out, profanity.
synopsis : jealousy isn't the best between eddie and you...
words : 932
Interviewer : Do you miss anything?
Y/N : Yeah. I do miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain.
Camila invited all of us over for her house party. The rain had cleared away as I sat in my taxi, giving me the perfect opportunity to run across the street without getting soaked.
The party was packed. People jammed in the house or outside in the backyard.
I looked around, desperately trying to find someone I recognized. I could only look for so long before a body was thrown on me and brown hair covered my vision.
“I’m so glad you made it, Y/N!” I could instantly recognize it as Camila.
“I’m so glad to see you, where are the others?” I asked as she was being pulled away by a mob of people.
“They might be outside. At least that’s where I saw Eddie and Graham last!” She yelled over the loud music as she was pulled with everyone.
I made my way outside as I saw the group of boys all huddled together. Except it was only Eddie and Warren.
“Y/N!” Warren exclaimed as he ran up to me, engulfing me in a hug.
I hugged him back, “Where’s Karen?”
Eddie sighed, “Her and Graham went off somewhere.”
I knew what was going on between Graham and Karen. They both liked each other, and they were terrible at hiding it.
The night went by and groupies came and left. They flirted with Eddie and Warren as I attempted to keep my eyes away from Eddie. It wasn’t a secret that I liked Eddie. I’m guessing most people knew, but it made me even more jealous the way he’d look at the girls that would sit on his lap.
I don’t even know how or why I started liking Eddie, I just did. He attracted me. I’d get butterflies if he’d touch my hand while trying to teach me with the guitar, or when he touched my waist when he would move around in the kitchen.
I sighed loudly before getting up and walking over to grab a drink. Everyone was with someone else as they danced and partied.
“Hey, you’re Y/N L/N, right?” A man’s voice said as he brought me out of my gaze.
I looked over to him, seeing a quite attractive man. I smiled, “Yes, that’s me.” The two of us continued eye contact.
The man grew flustered at my smile, “I’m sorry, I've heard a lot about you, and I’ve seen you in newspapers, wow.” He stammered.
The next hour went by in a blur. We madeout and that was that. I mean, it was a lot. I didn’t fully think of my decisions, do I regret them though? No, of course not.
After he had left (his name was Thomas), I went to the restroom, fixing myself up. My lipstick was smeared and my hair was a wreck. I didn’t get banged, but it looked like I did.
I took off the lipstick and patted water on my head, trying my best to look as presentable as I could.
The boys sat inside now, in the dark after the power had gone out. There were candles that were lit and blankets being handed out.
“Woo! Where have you been, girly?” Warren asked as he watched me walk down the stairs towards the couch. It was obvious something had happened, especially if my lipstick was off. Warren raised an eyebrow and smirked in response, which I rolled my eyes to.
“Nothing.” I said, flashing him a smile.
I looked over to Eddie who didn’t say anything, he just looked at me with disgust, he too rolled his eyes. I watched as he got up abruptly, bumping into people as he made his way out of the house
Warren sighed, “You should follow after him.”
The rain was pouring down hard. Harder than what I expected for LA. I could barely see Eddie’s figure in the rain, he seemed to be walking fast.
“Eddie!” I yelled over the rain. “Eddie!” I yelled again, running to catch up with him.
He turned to me angrily as we were inches apart. “What, Y/N? What now?”
“What has gotten into you? Why are you all of a sudden so mad at me?” I questioned as he held clumps of hair on his head.
“Nothing, Y/N! Nothing. Nothing is wrong because nothing happened.” He yelled.
By now, the rain had drenched both of us, and I shivered from the cold.
“If it’s nothing then don’t act like a dick.” I said to the brunette.
He only sighed loudly, “Fine, maybe it’s because you made out with that guy! Okay? You don’t understand.”
I scoffed at his response “You’ve made out with a million groupies and I don’t do shit about it. Eddie for fucks sake I’ve liked you for so long. You’re the one that doesn’t understand.”
I couldn’t deal with him anymore, so I decided to walk away from him.
I felt Eddie grasp onto my wrist as he brought me back to him, his hands had found their way to my cheeks as he desperately kissed me. I sunk into the kiss as the rain poured down on us. It was peaceful, no fighting and just us.
I pulled away slowly, allowing myself to breathe.
“You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting to do that.” Eddie said as he touched our foreheads.
I laughed quietly, “You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for you to do something.”
Eddie : She misses me?

I hope you guys all enjoy, and as always, feel free to leave a request!

You had never been a fan of the tabloids—the endless gossip and chatter about who slept with who and how much weight so and so had gained. Half of the time, it wasn’t true. And the other half was just plain hurtful. These celebrities had a lives, too—star studded lives filled with private jets and millions of dollars to waste—but lives nonetheless. They deserved privacy, and selfishly, you deserved to be able to go somewhere without seeing your ex-fiancé on the cover of said tabloids.
Waiting in line at Hazelwood Coffee, your sister, Leah, stepped in front of the magazine rack in a failed attempt to spare your feelings, “So, Y/N, you going to go with iced or hot today?”
Although you appreciated her attempt to protect you from the countless photos of Eddie getting handsy with girls on tour, it didn’t take long for your brother-in-law to audibly gasp at the magazine, “He did what?”
Leah glared back at him, rolling her eyes. They had started dating after you and Eddie split, so he hadn’t been around for the countless nights you spent crying into her arms on your mother’s couch. No, he had grown to love The Dunne Brothers, reminding everyone that he had, in fact, gone to hear them play at a bar in town center one night a few years back. Despite his knowledge of your past with him, nothing could cover up the shock on his face whenever he saw their faces on the front cover of The Scoop or whatever tacky magazine he stumbled across.
Despite your efforts to act like you didn’t care about where he was in his life, Leah saw right through you, reassuring you that it was okay to be hurt. You were supposed to be right there with him, backstage as he played in some of the greatest concert venues in the world. But you weren’t, because three years ago, Eddie Roundtree had left you at the alter.
————————————————————————————————————————
It was a warm day in June, the perfect amount of clouds in the sky but not enough to block the sun from beaming down on you. Everything was perfect. You were getting married to the love of your life and, to you, nothing could possibly go wrong. But your idea of perfection would come to bite you in the ass when you heard a knock on the door.
Leah looked up from doing your makeup, “You stay here, I don’t want you messing up your hair or brows.”
You smiled up at her, staring at your reflection in the mirror. You had never felt more beautiful.
When you noticed how long Leah had been gone for, you tuned into the conversation she was having at the door, “Eddie, it’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding.”
“I really need to see her, Leah. It’s important.”
“Eddie, don’t start this marriage off on the wrong foot. I’m telling you, it’s bad luck,” She groaned, “Can’t you just wait to screw her until after the ceremony?”
You whipped your head around, “Leah!”
She glanced back at you apologetically, “It’s Eddie. He wants to know if he can come in.”
“Right now? I’m not done getting ready, but he can take a seat while you finish.”
Eddie pushed the door open a bit more, “I need a minute with you—alone.”
Leah raised a brow, looking between the two of you, “Hear that? Alone. Can’t blame a girl for wondering, can you?”
“Out, Leah,” You said, shaking your head, unable to contain your amusement.
She stepped out of the room, letting her soon to be brother-in-law squeeze past her. He shut the door behind him, twisting the lock. It was at this moment that you realized he wasn’t in his suit yet. He was still wearing his bell bottoms and turtleneck.
You swiveled around in your seat, “You’re not dressed yet? The weddings in an hour, Eds.”
He nodded his head, sitting down on an ottoman across from you, trying to think of the words to say.
Watching him struggle in silence, you rose from your seat and moved to sit across his lap, “Everything alright?”
His heartbeat starting picking up as you ran your hands through his hair, undoing the tangles, “You know you can tell me anything right? Including why you aren’t dressed yet.”
You watched as he swallowed hard, pursing his lips, “I’m leaving today.”
Letting out a breathy, confused laugh, you tilt your head, pressing the back of your hand to his forehead to check him for a temperature, “I know, honey. That’s kind of how honeymoons work. Are you feeling alright?”
“We’re not going on a honeymoon.”
“What? Why? We’ve been planning it for months.”
Eddie took a deep breath, “Because we’re not getting married.”
You felt your heart break in an instant, confusion spreading across your face. Enveloping his head in your hands, you shook your head, “What are you talking about?”
He didn’t meet your eyes, instead he just bowed his head.
Sliding off his lap, you took a step back, crossing your arms. You went through a list of reasons as to why this was happening in your head, pacing the room before turning back to him, “You’re a fucking dick if you think this is funny. I love you, Eddie, but doing this on our wedding day is a sick joke.”
He winced before looking up at you, “I’m not laughing. It’s not a joke.”
Tears starting falling down your face and your chest heaved, your voice cracking as you asked the one question he didn’t want to answer, “Why?”
“Honey…”
You shook your head, “Don’t call me that. Don’t you fucking call me that. Is there someone else? Someone who you love enough to run away with on our wedding day?”
“Y/N, it’s not like that, I promise.”
Shaking your head, you narrowed your eyes, “Well you seem to make a lot of promises you can’t keep.”
“The band is moving out to LA, Y/N.”
“So? I’ll go with you.”
He shook his head, “I can’t ask you to do that. You have school.”
“I’ll graduate in two years, Eddie. I can just transfer to a school out there.”
“No, you worked hard to get where you are—and your family is here.”
You took a step towards him, “I can still see them on trips. It’s not like I’ll be gone forever. Besides, you have family here, too.”
“I just have Gran. It’s not like I’m leaving an entire family behind.”
“You’re leaving me behind.”
He bowed his head, “Y/N…”
“Well, it’s true.”
“I’m doing you a favor.”
“No, you’re taking the easy way out.”
A knock on the door stopped him from responding, but you hastily called out, “Hold on!”
“Don’t give up on me, Eddie—on us.”
“We’ll be living paycheck to paycheck, all crammed in a four bedroom apartment. I can’t support you like that.”
You sighed, “Then I’ll get a job, pull some weight. It’ll be enough to float us.”
“No, you have too much to focus on with college—I don’t want you to have to worry about making ends meet.”
That’s when you broke, desperate for him to change his mind, “Please, Eddie. If you change your mind and marry me right now, I’ll pretend none of this ever happened. I’ll forget about it—you’ll never hear a peep from me. I love you, baby. I’ll go anywhere with you—I’ll finish school out here and follow you out there when I’m done. Just please, please marry me.”
“I’ll always love you, Y/N. But if I can’t give you the life you deserve, I don’t deserve to be in your life.”
It was routine for him to kiss you whenever he left, whether he was going in another room or off to an audition. This time was no different, except that the kiss he pressed to your cheek meant goodbye instead of see you soon.
Watching him walk out the door, you stood unable to move.
Leah shuffled back in, eyeing him as he walked down the hallway before closing the door, “Did you two have fun in here?”
Seeing your sister come into view, you fell to your knees, sobs racking through your body. She rushed over to you, cradling you in her arms as she had done the day your parents had bought you home from the hospital. Petting your hair as you cried into her chest, she squeezed you tightly.
“Oh, honey, what happened?”
“The wedding,” You choked, “Is off.”
Leah winced, holding you tighter to her as you cried.
Eddie had left you to make it big—and that was enough for you to crumple. How could you ever love again?

hi bestie here with another request
could i get a josh lyman x reader where the reader is socially awkward or anxious and josh helps her chill out during an event? idk if that makes sense
This is so cute!! Absolutely hon!!
Tumblr media
- You hate parties. And any social event, really. Which is a problem if you work at the Whitehouse, but you’d managed to avoid them with “family emergencies” and “dentist appointments” thus far.
- But Leo’s sick of your game. He tells you that you have to be at this party. Dammit.
- Josh knows that you hate being social. He’s pretty sure he’s watched you make fake strangling motions at Whitehouse visitors when they turn their back. But he’s also so excited to see you all dressed up (and also secretly imagining himself wooing you and sweeping you off your feet).
- You’re not sure why Josh has been in such a good mood all day, but you’re feeling much the opposite. Still, you try to convince yourself that it’ll be fun.
- It was not fun.
- You get to the party, and even though you’re feeling beautiful, you don’t feel comfortable. There are just so many people here, and some of them are staring at you… you want to go home.
- Josh happens to be one of the people staring at you. He cannot get over how gorgeous you look. But then, he realizes how uncomfortable you are, and hatches a plan.
Let’s be honest here, Josh isn’t a fan of looking like an idiot, even if it’s for the team. But, for you, he’ll make an exception. He was bored anyway.
- You’re so relieved when you see Josh walking towards you, that you don’t notice the two glasses of champagne in his hands. Until they go flying through the air.
Josh seems to trip on air just a few feet in front of you, arms flailing, shoes squeaking across tile, and the champagne goes everywhere. On your dress, on his tuxe, and all over the floor.
- You managed to catch him, you’re not sure how. But he immediately springs up and starts apologizing to you, and to everyone. They’re all staring.
“I guess we’ll have to change out of our party clothes!” He announces loudly.  You’re still in shock as he drags you away.
“Josh, I don’t have any other clothes,” you begin, but he shrugs it off.
“Don’t worry, I’ve got you.”
It’s as he’s handing you a change of his own clothes that you realized what just happened.
Josh just spilled champagne over your clothes so that you can’t return to the party. Because who could return to a Whitehouse party in someone else’s sweats and hoodie?
- Josh is looking at you with the most dopey grin on his face that you’ve ever seen.
- You laugh, and throw your arms around his shoulders. You kiss him on the cheek. No words need to be said. His whole face lights up.
- You change into Josh’s clothes, and because he’s now “incapacitated” as well (you’re sure he has a nicer change of clothes somewhere that he could use to return to the party, but he denies it), Josh offers to pull out an old cassette tape from his office. It’s one of your favorite movies.
- You spend the night laughing hysterically. And Josh, even though he just publicly humiliated himself, is the happiest he’s ever been. Because he’s watching you giggle and giggle and worm your way into the couch in your office, all with his clothes on.
You’re even more beautiful this way, without the flashy dress and the makeup (which you had removed). He’s glad he pulled that charade, to say the least.
- Leo is not impressed, however. He makes you go to the next ball, and the next gala, and the next dinner, but if you’re being honest, you don’t mind them as much anymore. Josh’s fall made you feel so much more comfortable, and even if it didn’t, he’s practically glued to your side at every event.
- So, you spend most of your time gossiping with Josh, dancing with Josh, or strategically avoiding people with Josh. It’s great, because people will come up and talk to him, but leave you alone for the most part. And you just get to spend time with your best friend.
- Besides, it’s never a bad thing when, before you walk into each event, he kisses your forehead and reminds you how beautiful you are. That’s a perk for sure.

(JOSH WHITEHOUSE+ CIS-MALE ) —  Have you seen LOGAN CAINE ? This TWENTY SEVEN year old is a PARALEGAL who resides in MANHATTAN. HE has been living in NYC for HIS WHOLE LIFE and is known to be TRUSTING and CURIOUS, but can also be SHELTERED, FOOLISH and RESENTFUL if you cross them.  People tend to associate them with TALKING TO HIMSELF and SELF DEPRICATING JOKES — ( Jess again, filling in as the Caine sibling connection)
Tumblr media
tw: anxiety, @codstarters
The middle Caine brother!! here to learn how to live & be his own person!!
full name: Logan Caine
age: Twenty Seven
birthday: 29th June 1993
gender: Cis-Male
birthplace: Manhattan, New York City
current location: Manhattan, New York City
languages: English, German
sexual orientation: Pansexual
relationship status: Single
height: 6″2
Likes: monster movies, cyptids, conspiracy theories, strange legal cases, X-Files, pastries, tea, comedies, snow boarding, learning, observing, patterned socks
Dislikes: cheating, liars, caramel (he used to have braces and it would stick to his teeth), being kissed on the cheek by his aunts, camping, fighting,
Logan Caine was born in the middle, and that perfectly described who he was. He wasn’t as charismatic as Sam, and he wasn’t as likable as Abigail, he was always kind of just... there. Being weird in the background
So much of his life was spent trying to appease his parents. He took AP classes to get into a good school, he studied to be a lawyer because that’s what his father wanted, and he kept his head down because that’s what the Caine family did - they didn’t ruffle feathers.
He didn’t mind being in the background for most of the time, or being the “good” son compared to Sam. The boy lived off his parents validation and approval, without ever considering what it was that he actually wanted. As Sam kept rebelling, and his parents kept forgiving him, Logan got increasingly frustrated over the attention Sam still received. Here he was, doing exactly what they asked. He should be the golden child, yet he never received any of the praise he wanted.
With this frustration building inside of him, Logan kept studying and kept trying to be the perfect son. He barely drank, never broke any rules, never partied with the other college students, most of his life was  hidden in a library where he would spend hours consuming as much knowledge as possible. This of course gave him terrible social skills and made him incredibly repressed. He could rant to you about X-Files, art house films, and the law, but being easy-going? Being chill? nope.
Despite Logan’s extensive study, and graduating law school, he has still yet to pass his bar exam. Each time he tries to complete it he is met with paralyzing fear. It seemed that no matter how hard he tried, how much he studied, the anxiety got the better of him. Not wanting his son to be left without a job, Logan’s father contacted their family friend, Antonio Saravia, who has taken Logan on as a paralegal.
When the news about his father’s other child, Rosalie Roberts, broke and Logan finally gave up trying. What was the point to pleasing a man who also made mistakes? Why was he constantly battling for his family’s attention when nothing was even real anymore? Was it all smoke and mirrors? Logan began questioning the whole life he’d built up for himself, whether he liked things because he liked them or because his parents liked them. He became disillusioned about everything.
Finally starting to understand how Sam felt when he rebelled all those years ago, Logan is trying to live life on his own terms, for the first time in twenty seven years.  He wants to make up for as much lost time as possible, to try as many things as possible.  Does he want to be a lawyer? Who knows. Does he know how to take care of himself? Nope. Is he incredibly afraid of what’s to come? Definitely.
CONNTECTIONS: people who can show him how to “live”,  roommates, best friends, friends from high school, childhood friends, new friends, , wingman, x-files fans, friends of his brothers (sam & arthur), his first ever one night stand, exes, unrequited crushes (rip him), crushes, former competition in uni/high school, people he used to compare himself to,

Spotify (X)- Liner Notes Under Cut Part 1 / Part 2
_______________________________________________________
Pretender (Acoustic) by AJR (Post Pirate Arc- Feeling adrift and throwing yourself into another situation so you don’t have to think about the previous one. With everything going on in the empire and the lives of his friends, there are far more important things to be focusing on.)
I’m a good pretender Won’t you come see my show? I’ve got lots of problems Well, good thing nobody knows
Seafaring Song by Mark Lanegan & Isobel Campbell (He feels uneasy being this far from the ocean, as he runs from the promise he made and things he did to chase power that didn’t matter. Looking up into the Xhorhas sky and seeing an unfamiliar, yet familiar vastness reflected back at him.)
I have traveled the world around Wandered far from home Sailed the ocean in foreign skies Still further to roam
False Confidence by Noah Kahan (The City of Beasts- Fjord should feel comfortable here, no one glances at him sideways, he isn’t the only one of his kind, but he still doesn’t feel like enough. Insecurities about his size, his tusks, his humaness, his orcness abound. Feeling like you aren’t enough for either place yet too much for both as well.)
Don’t take yourself so seriously Look at you all dressed up for someone you never see You’re here for a reason but you don’t know why You’re split and uneven, your hands to the sky Surrender yourself
I Don’t Even Care About You (Stripped) by MISSIO (His first Uk’otoa dream since leaving the coast. It’s a warning and a threat of punishment. Being crushed in your dreams is every bit as unpleasant as it sounds.)
Depressed again Evening comes too fast, still tired of the routine Depressed again I can do without all your false curiosities Angry again No, I don’t wanna have a conversation with you Angry again Let me sit alone with kerosene I do’t even care about you
A New Mission by Josh Whitehouse (Everything about Wursh exasperates Fjord’s insecurities, but he feels seen in a way that, while not pleasant, is necessary. The group also gets another peek at the childhood that made their friend.)
Sometimes I can’t control a feeling that I get inside my chest Even with those who are close to me, the ones I call my best I lose sight of all my confidence, in a heavy single step It’s happened ever since my childhood, things I thought I’d put to rest
The Wolf in Your Darkest Room by Matthew Mayfield (Uk’otoa makes it clear that what can be given can also be taken away. The loss of his powers, however temporarily is terrifying.)
And I just want to taste you on my teeth And clawing at your neck to feed my needs You thought you found my limit But you don’t seem to know You don’t seem to know How far I’d go
The Mask by Matt Maeson (Fjord has spent a lifetime crafting masks, but at what cost, and with such weight. He’s not ready to take them off yet, but he gets one step closer with each day. Fjord’s second talk with Wursh about anger, picking your battles, and not letting others define who you are.)
Tell me what you know I settled my grievance by crafting a mask And I never looked back I will never grow While this anchor is chained to my feet
Waite by Lowland Hum (Xhorhas montage- Adjusting to a new city, a new culture, and having a home of your own for the first real time ever. The paranoia of feeling like you’re being watched. Caleb waiting for him in his room- a conversation with a friend you don’t yet understand, and are not sure you fully trust.)
Hunter, rush, mauve, dust; Colors I didn’t trust  Until I saw them from the train Home with stranger kin Camp in the kitchen Tears and sweet refrain Pining, dining, late reclining Pillow steals my brain Stop through, see you All we’ve been through Are we not the same?
In Memoriam by The Oh Hellos (Sleeping next to the Wildmother’s tree. Uk’otoa strikes again, but she saves him, brings him to her, and offers him a place of refuge to seek and strive for. For the first night in a long time, his sleep is peaceful.)
Well, it’s a long way out to reach the sea But I’m sure I’ll find you waiting there for me And by the time I blink, I’ll see your wild arms swinging Just to meet me in the middle of the road And you’ll hold me like you’ll never let me go And beside the salty water, I could hold you close But you are far too beautiful to love me
Diver (Acoustic) by Kid Astray (The Wildmother’s tree again, but this time his eyes are on Jester only. Also known as: He literally jumps off a tree into a deep dive to save her guys!! That’s some Disney bullshit!!)
So dive in with me, leave without the feeling that you’re on your own Hold fast drifting, know that I won’t go before you’ve had enough ‘Cause I can be anything that you want me to be, anything that you need me to be So dive in with me, dive in with me
A Lullaby of Home by Jessica Curry (Bazzozan, Oban, and the loss of Yasha. The feeling of betrayal that strikes deep to his core.)
Instrumental
The Difference by Noah Gunderson (Fjord and Nott are parallel stories. The weird understanding and also misunderstanding between those who are in the same place, but had very different journeys to get there, and also don’t want to acknowledge just how much the same they are.)
I hope I don’t miss it Though I know I probably just won’t get it Maybe we were made this way Maybe we weren’t made Maybe we just got here Learning from our mistakes Maybe we don’t know What we’re looking at  The ever pressing question takes a toll
A Little Broken by Storm Greenwood (The Vandran scry conversation. Fjord confides in Jester about all of it, not knowing what he wants, losing his powers, being afraid of losing his friends and himself. She supports him like he never expected anyone to. He leaves feeling more grounded and ready to make a decision. )
And though we’ve been down the hardest road we’ve yet traveled At least we weren’t traveling alone Time ticks by and we’re still a little broken But together we can lighten this load
Broken Crown by Mumford & Sons (The whole damn lava pit thing, that defining choice. The giving up something bad to replace it with something better. Jumping off a cliff and praying you’ll be caught.)
Touched my mouth and hold my tongue I’ll never be your chosen one I’ll be home, safe and tucked away You can’t tempt me if I don’t see the day
Dear Wormwood by The Oh Hellos (The aftermath. When you’ve named the beast you can tame it, or throw it away entirely. In a way it is freedom. Fjord and Caduceus share a private moment of encouragement and support.)
I know who I am now And all that you’ve made of me I know who you are now And I name you my enemy
Kinda Feels Alright by Wild Rivers (Fjord’s friends love him so so so much. Coming clean about who you are even though it is terrifying, and finding that nothing has changed really, not in the ways that matter the most.)
I swear I should be terrified But damn, it kinda feels alright
Ginger by The Front Bottoms (Powerlessness and the Strength of Self. Fjord was never really weak, he just needed faith in himself, his abilities, and in the love of his friends.)
Back before I got struck by lightning Things were so much different than they are now I got a lot more people leaning on me And all I wanna do is make them proud But this is my body, the only thing I own entirely And it’ll carry me to greatness somehow
Better in the Morning by Birdtalker (Fjord and Caduceus commune with the Wildmother and talk about the importance of faith. There is no requirement to have it all figured out immediately. You are safe, you are loved, you are wanted. Just have faith.)
Be gentle with yourself as you uncover Your best kept secrets yet to be discovered In stillness, boys, clear water to the bottom You will do better in the morning
The Dragon from God of War (The Battle at Mythburrow for the material to finish Star Razor. If there was any doubt that his friends turned family would do anything for him, it is dispelled now.)
Instrumental
Atlas: Eight by Sleeping at Last (Rebirth, Reforged, Revival.)
Here I am, pry me open What do you want to know? I’m just a kid who grew up scared enough To hold the door shut And bury my innocence  But here’s a map, here’s a shovel Here’s my Achilles’ heel I’m all in, palms out, I’m at your mercy now And I’m ready to begin

As you stood before the grand mirror, the luxurious red dress you wore seemed to embrace every curve of your body, transforming you into a living masterpiece. The intricate beading and elegant draping made you feel like a modern-day Renaissance painting, radiating a mesmerizing allure. Each jewel adorning your skin caught the light, accentuating your magnificence and leaving no doubt that you were the embodiment of grace and beauty. The reflection staring back at you affirmed what you had known all along: tonight, you would command the attention of all who beheld you.
As a team of talented stylists and makeup artists worked their magic, you couldn't help but smile gratefully, realizing that this moment was the culmination of countless hours of dedication and perseverance. The path to this extraordinary night had been paved with tireless efforts, unwavering determination, and an unwavering belief in your own talent.
You remembered the days and nights spent perfecting each lyric, pouring your heart into every melody, and collaborating with Teddy Price, your trusted producer and adviser. Teddy had seen your potential long before anyone else, supporting you with unyielding faith and pushing you to reach new heights. Together, you had embarked on a journey fueled by a shared vision, navigating the twists and turns of the music industry to arrive at this pivotal moment.
As the hour approached, you found yourself seated in the plush comfort of the awaiting vehicle, your heart pounding with a potent mix of excitement and nervous energy. The anticipation was almost tangible, as if the very air was charged with the electric energy of the impending event. The soft skid of the car pulling away signaled the beginning of a remarkable night, one that would etch itself into the annals of your career forever.
Through the window, the city lights blurred into a kaleidoscope of color as you made your way towards the prestigious venue. The vibrant streets mirrored the palpable buzz of anticipation that resonated deep within you. The Grammy Awards, the pinnacle of musical recognition, awaited your arrival. Every artist's dream was about to unfold before your eyes, and you couldn't help but feel an overwhelming mix of pride, excitement, and humility.
The vehicle came to a halt, and you took a deep breath, gathering your thoughts as the moment drew near. With each beat of your heart, you embraced the realization that you had earned your place among the most talented musicians in the world. You were no longer the aspiring artist with dreams in her eyes; you were now the embodiment of those dreams, ready to captivate the hearts and souls of all who would witness your performance.
As the car door opened, a cascade of blinding camera flashes and the deafening roar of the crowd welcomed you to the threshold of this extraordinary night. You stepped out, a vision of elegance and confidence, basking in the adoration and admiration of your peers. The weight of the world may have rested upon your shoulders, but you carried it with grace, knowing that every step you took brought you closer to a destiny you had worked tirelessly to achieve.
You navigated the sea of well-wishers, exchanging warm smiles and embraces with fellow artists, feeling a sense of camaraderie and connection that only those who had walked a similar path could understand. The music that filled the air enveloped you like a comforting embrace, reminding you of the power and magic that awaited within the venue's hallowed walls.
This was your night, a night where dreams turned into reality, where your voice would resonate through the halls and touch the hearts of all who listened. You were watched by so many eyes, but one pair of eyes on you in particular seemed to burn.
Eddie Roundtree could only see you there, you were the only one that mattered. Beside him Warren held his drumsticks like "his trademark" posing for the photographers who shouted his name and blowing kisses to the girls who screamed for him, the blonde ignored his insistent calls, his gaze was fixed on you smiling at the photos, greeting the others present at the event and from time to time giving an interview for a report.
After a while watching you from a distance, the bassist pulls his friend by the arm, the drummer without understanding just follows him, waving goodbye to the fans.
"Eddie, what the hell man?" Warren questions, walking into the event with his friend, taking in the surroundings in awe. He always wanted to be here. "I was busy out there."
Roundtree rolls her eyes, "The girls will be there when you leave." He says with certainty, moving on to find the rest of the band to sit together. He couldn't take his eyes off that red dress in the crowd, he just couldn't get over your beauty.
You and Eddie had already crossed paths before, after all, you were on the same label. The first time you talked was at Teddy's birthday party, it wasn't a very long conversation, you were both very drunk so the only thing you remember was ending up kissing each other in a dark room by the end of the night. Since then you have a kind of "thing", an unnamed relationship, something that you both felt and lived a thousand times, you felt like it and quenched it as many times as necessary, but no one could know... For your own good.
It wasn't good for you to change the image you had on the record label, you didn't want anyone to hit on you, much less for things to change just because now you slept with Eddie. Then everything would remain confidential, and that's the end of the story.
And there you were, being admired by everyone at that event, and he couldn't show anyone that he was completely in love with you. You didn't know that, after all, he had never said it, but just seeing you like that made him feel the words escape his throat, wanting to shout to everyone that you were the woman he loved, that he wanted by his side, that you were his and he was completely surrendered to you.
As the night progressed, the air in the venue became charged with excitement and anticipation. The awards ceremony began, and each category announcement sent a wave of tension through the crowd. Backstage, you and Eddie found yourselves stealing glances at each other whenever the spotlight shifted away from the stage. The unspoken connection between you two seemed to intensify with each passing moment, as if the magnetic pull that had brought you together refused to be ignored.
As the evening unfolded, Daisy Jones and the Six, Eddie's band, secured their first Grammy win in one of the categories. The room erupted in applause and cheers, and Eddie's eyes sparkled with a mix of joy for his bandmates and pride for their achievement. He turned to you, a radiant smile playing at his lips, silently sharing the triumph with you.
"You were amazing out there," Eddie whispered, his voice filled with admiration. "I couldn't take my eyes off you. The way you commanded the stage... it's, fuck, mesmerizing."
Blushing at his words, you whispered back, "You're not so bad yourself, Mr. Grammy Winner. Congratulations, Eddie. You truly deserve it."
You couldn't help but feel a swell of happiness for Eddie and the rest of Daisy Jones and the Six. Their success was well-deserved, and it only deepened your admiration for his musical talent. However, beneath the surface, a bittersweet realization tugged at your heart. The need for secrecy prevented you from openly celebrating their victory together, from embracing him in the euphoria of the moment. It was a reminder of the sacrifices you both had made to protect your hidden connection. And that's when you notice for the first time that you wanted to celebrate that with him in another way, in a more intimate way, to show yourself there for him.
Throughout the night, as more awards were announced and the energy in the room continued to escalate, you and Eddie found yourselves stealing moments whenever you could. With each category announcement, while others focused on the stage, you would discreetly slip away from the crowd, finding hidden corners and secluded areas where you could steal passionate kisses and stolen glances. The thrill of the clandestine rendezvous heightened the intensity of your desire for each other, fueling a fire that burned beneath the surface.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the event, Eddie would pull you aside, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Let's take a moment away from all this chaos," he'd suggest, a playful smile dancing on his lips. "I need to steal you away for just a little while."
Giggling, you'd follow him eagerly, your heart racing in anticipation of the stolen moments you were about to share. In those hidden corners, away from prying eyes, he would whisper sweet compliments, his voice laced with adoration.
"Have I told you that you look breathtaking tonight?" Eddie would murmur, his eyes tracing every curve of your figure. "But I have to admit, it makes me a little jealous seeing all those eyes on you. I want to be the only one who gets to see you like this." He whispers, kissing your neck, you feel a shiver down your spine.
You'd blush, feeling a surge of warmth at his words. "Well, I think you'll have to deal with it, 'cuz I have a lot of suitors out there." You shrug, pulling away from his grip.
He raises his eyebrows in disbelief, looking around you in fear someone might see you. "What a smart little mouth you have, huh."
You smile, loving teasing him. "I just told you the truth, it's not my fault that I look beautiful in red."
His fingers would gently brush against your cheek as he leaned in, his voice husky. "You're the most stubborn person I've ever seen, but fuck I love being thwarted by you."
You smile, getting dangerously close to his face. "You like the way I drive you crazy, don't you Roundtree?"
He pushes you against the wall, whispering against your ear, his breath making your entire body shiver. "I hate when you act like that."
A playful smile would tug at your lips as you playfully retorted, "Ah, so that's it, you hate me? Say it to my face then! I'm here, listening to you…" You hold his chin, making him stare at you, fuck... He was completely given to you.
"You can't, right?" You smile, proud to hear he doesn't respond after a considerable time.
Eddie's expression would soften, his gaze filled with affection. Something you really didn't expect, since you were in a different mood, you look questioningly "Don't look at me that way, I haven't done anything. I'm just... helplessly in love with you."
You think you heard wrong, he just smiles and kisses you one more time. The world around you would fade into the background as your lips met in a fiery embrace, the outside world temporarily forgotten. These stolen interludes became your secret haven, where the weight of expectation and the complexities of your careers melted away, leaving only the raw connection between two souls deeply entwined in the music that brought them together.
You hear the end of the presentation and the call for the next nominees, then you return to your seats, you try to hide your racing heart due to Eddie's words but it only gets worse when you notice that this was your nomination. You go back to sitting in your seat, listening to the presenter narrate in a slow and torturous way, it was as if he was speaking at 0.75 speed, you wanted to go there and snatch that paper from his hand and find out at once.
It's like falling off a swing, going down a roller coaster, all the confidence you've carried with you this far slips away and you feel ridiculous thinking you could win that award. You close your eyes, your knuckles must be so white because your hands tingle from the grip you press against them, you feel the coldness of the rings against the palm of his hands the pain of the pressure is soon present, the tension in his shoulders seems to consume you with every word that man says. You open your eyes for a moment, bringing your gaze to Eddie and the rest of the Band, Warren is hugging their grammy like it's a baby smiling at you pointing to the stage in encouragement, Daisy smiles trying to give you comfort, you can read Eddie's lips saying "This award is already yours".
As you stand there, frozen in the moment, you hear the announcer's voice resonating through the grand hall. "And the Grammy for Best Album of the Year goes to... Y/N L/N!"
Time seems to stand still as the words sink in. The room erupts into thunderous applause, a symphony of cheers and admiration for your musical prowess. Your heart swells with a mix of overwhelming joy, disbelief, and gratitude. A single tear escapes from the corner of your eye and traces a glistening path down your cheek.
With trembling legs, you make your way toward the stage. Each step feels surreal, as if you're floating on a cloud of euphoria. The spotlight follows you, illuminating your radiant smile and the shimmering tears of happiness in your eyes.
As you reach the podium, the presenter hands you the coveted Grammy trophy, a symbol of recognition for your artistic brilliance. You hold it in your hands, feeling the weight of the moment, and glance out at the sea of faces, each one a testament to the impact your music has had.
Taking a deep breath, you approach the microphone, your voice steady but laced with emotion. "Thank you," you begin, your voice resonating with genuine appreciation. "This moment is a dream come true, one that I never could have achieved without the unwavering support of my incredible team, my family, and my fans."
The crowd erupts into applause once again, their adoration washing over you like a tidal wave. You continue, your words fueled by the overwhelming surge of gratitude and love within you. "I want to dedicate this award to every person who has ever believed in me, who has felt the emotions I poured into this album. This Grammy is for you. And to my fellow nominees, thank you for inspiring me to reach higher and push the boundaries of my art."
A thunderous applause reverberates through the hall, a standing ovation from your peers, acknowledging your talent and the impact you have made on the music industry. In that moment, you feel an indescribable sense of fulfillment, knowing that your music has touched the hearts and souls of so many.
As you step away from the microphone, the room fills with admiration and reverence. The applause echoes in your ears, a symphony of triumph and celebration. You hold the Grammy tightly to your chest, feeling the weight of the honor and the countless hours of dedication that led to this moment.
Walking back to your seat, you catch Eddie's eyes in the crowd. He is beaming with pride, his applause ringing out among the rest. With a mixture of gratitude and affection, you share a brief, knowing glance, acknowledging the role he played in shaping the album that has now been recognized as the best of the year.
Amidst the applause and adulation, you find a moment of stillness, closing your eyes briefly, as if to etch this extraordinary moment deep into your memory. The realization that your music has touched hearts, moved souls, and now earned the highest accolade in the industry washes over you like a tidal wave of affirmation.
And as the applause gradually subsides, you take a final look at the Grammy in your hands, a symbol of your triumph, and a testament to the power of your artistry. With renewed determination and a heart filled with boundless gratitude, you know that this is just the beginning of an incredible journey that lies ahead, a journey filled with more music, more passion, and more extraordinary moments to be cherished.
You pulled the cigarette smoke with your eyes closed, feeling his kisses on your shoulder, the cold early morning wind hit your half-naked skin while his skin warmed you from behind on that porch. The two of you had escaped the crowd to take advantage of each other's presence, congratulate each other on winning the night in a special way, from the balcony you were able to see LA with an air of indifference, as if you didn't belong there, as if you were more than that in a way, feeling part of something bigger.
He continues kissing your shoulder and you put out the cigarette, throwing it away, turning to him and kissing his mouth tenderly, he pulls you close, enjoying your presence near him, feeling your skin was the best thing for him, he knew nothing could match having you under his fingertips. You caress his long blonde hair, lightly pulling his strands feeling him shiver with your touch, he gently pushes you against the glass that separates the balcony from the apartment and you gently end the fervent kissing session with pecks on his lips.
You watch him under the moonlight feeling your chest fill with gratitude for that day, feeling in fact the luckiest woman in the world during that night. You had won a Grammy and you were sleeping with the bassist from the most famous band in the world, better yet, you were falling in love with this bassist.
You hold his face tenderly, wanting this moment to last forever. "You know what?" You question in a whisper, he denies with his head, looking deep into your eyes. "I'm hopelessly in love with you too." You confess and he opens a playful smile, letting out a laugh making you frown not understanding.
"Tell me something I don't know." He shrugs and you give him the middle finger, walking into the apartment and throwing yourself on the bed. "We're both head over heels in love with each other and we're both idiots wanting to deny it" he says laying down next to you, pulling you closer.
You laugh, taking one of your hands to his hair. "Who told you that I've been in love with you for a while?"
"Oh shut up!" He says kissing you, while tickling you.
You pull away from the playful tickling match, both of you breathless and with smiles that light up the room. Your laughter subsides, but the warmth and connection between you remain strong.
Eddie leans against the balcony railing, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You know," he says with a playful smirk, "I think I might have to start a new category at the Grammys for 'Best Kisser.' I'm pretty sure you'd sweep that one too."
You playfully roll your eyes, crossing your arms. "Oh, please," you retort, feigning mock arrogance. "We all know you're just trying to win an award for 'Best Flirt'."
He raises an eyebrow, a grin spreading across his face. "Flirting is my hidden talent, babe," he replies, leaning in closer. "But I think you're the real winner here. 'Best Tease' category goes to you, hands down."
You giggle, giving him a light shove. "Oh, come on now," you say, pretending to be offended. "I'm just having a little fun with you. Can't blame me for keeping you on your toes."
He chuckles, wrapping his arm around your waist. "Trust me, I wouldn't have it any other way," he says, pulling you closer. "It's those teasing moments that make being with you so damn exhilarating."
You lean in, whispering in his ear, "You do realize that the award for 'Best Couple Banter' is also in our future, right?"
He grins, his breath tickling your neck. "No doubt about it," he replies, his voice filled with playful confidence. "We're gonna sweep the Grammys and steal the show with our banter skills. Just wait and see."
As you both share a lighthearted laugh, the night breeze carries away any lingering tension. In this moment, with playful banter and gentle touches, you realize that the connection between you and Eddie is not just about music and awards—it's about enjoying each other's company, embracing the fun and spontaneity of life, and cherishing the joy of being together.
You stay on the balcony, arms intertwined, savoring the laughter and the shared moments. The world may know you as Grammy-winner artists, but in this private space, you're simply two souls entwined in a light-hearted and beautiful love story. And as the night unfolds, you can't wait to see what other funny, romantic, and adventurous chapters await you both.

The Knight Before Christmas (Netflix, 2019)
Modern technology is lit AF.
Starring: Vanessa Hudgens, Josh Whitehouse,  Emmanuelle Chriqui, Harry Jarvis
Plot Synopsis: A medieval English knight is magically transported to the present day where he falls for a high school science teacher who is disillusioned by love. (x)
In My Humble Opinion: In terms of being too stupid to live, A Knight Before Christmas is going to fit in nicely among the grand Netflix Christmas tradition of films like The Princess Switch and A Christmas Prince which gain a fervent following around this time of year. Alexa, the Amazon device, is a major character after all, and there’s a dude in armor throwing his sword at people. It all makes no sense and it’s going to be huuuge because it makes no sense.
I, however, had less fun with this premise. Probably because all of these “someone time travels to the future!” premises make me get insane over little details. For example, why is that knight never harangued for identification? He drives a car, throws a sword at people, and is like nearly lost all the time and COPS still offer him jobs and are never like, “Weird you don’t have any papers that prove you exist.” How is he going to fill out that W-2 when tax season comes around?? He’s working for the government! There’s no paying under the table there!!!!
Also, the knight flummoxed by televisions and shit, but is never like “Wow, woman have actual careers! Wow, what happened to feudalism?” Which is insane to me. He also immediately knows what being cheated on means, even if I am pretty sure they did not have that terminology in the 1300s. These are all details that are supposed to make this fun! But when it comes to these kind of films I can not turn my brain off. Vanessa Hudgens can play three clones of herself (all of whom somehow don’t share genetics), but you tell me a dude from the 1300s immediately adapts to the new social justice standards of 2019 and I am like “Nahhhh”.
Don’t ask me why I am this way. I wish I knew.
Watch If: You think planes are flying steel dragons, if you think hot chocolate is a delicious mead, or if your foremost duty is to honor your quest for the king.
Skip If: You call your servers “wenches”, if your emotional intelligence is low because your parents didn’t let you have a pet, or if you do not come from the land of the holistic approach.
Final Rating: ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆

Netflix holiday films: How ‘Christmas Prince: Royal Baby’ ranks
CLOSE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Romany Malco plays a popular DJ in “Holiday Rush.” (Photo: Anna Kooris)
A DJ and a knight in shining armor have made Netflix’s slate of holiday romantic comedies something to fa-la-la-la fall in love with.
This week, the streaming service will release the final of its five new seasonal features, which kicked off with “Holiday in the Wild” on Nov. 1, followed by “Let It Snow” a week later. “Holiday Rush” (Nov. 28) and “The Knight Before Christmas” (Nov. 21) –  top our nice list. Compared to the others, these movies stand high on a glistening, snow-covered peak.
Where does the latest movie, “A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby” (Dec. 5) fall on our list that we made and checked twice? Here’s how the jolly features rank.
In Kacey Musgraves’ Christmas special, her grandma steals the show: ‘This is just Nana’s world’
5 holiday movies that are really kind of depressing (including ‘Last Christmas’)
1. “Holiday Rush”
“Rush” Williams (Romany Malco) is a successful DJ whose cushy life gets a record-scratch when his station is bought and he loses his job. His four children, who have grown accustomed to a certain way of living, have a hard time adjusting when they’re forced to downsize. Leaning on his producer Roxy Richardson (Sonequa Martin-Green, whose smile lights up the screen like a Christmas light display), they hatch a plan to get Rush back on top.
This movie provides the type of heartwarming tingle one might experience arriving at a beloved relative’s front door. It underlines the message of the season, that it’s loved ones who matter, not material things.

2. “The Knight Before Christmas”
The fish-out-of-water tale, reminiscent of 2001’s “Kate & Leopold” starring Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman, brings joy to the world. Vanessa Hudgens’ Brooke is an Ohio teacher who’s been schooled by her ex with a wandering eye to think true love is nothing but a fantasy. Through the sorcery of an old crone, Sir Cole (Josh Whitehouse) time-travels from England in 1334, where he must complete a quest so he can become a “true knight.”
After crossing paths with Brooke, his old-world ways remind her that there are good men still out there. Brooke and Cole’s slow-blooming romance is an enjoyable, captivating simmer.  As an added bonus, “Entourage” alum Emmanuelle Chriqui, who plays Brooke’s sister Madison, brings a delightful warmth to the screen. Get ready to be called out by Netflix’s official Twitter account, because this movie is definitely worthy of repeated viewing.

Review: ‘The Crown’ Season 3 is missing a lot of the Queen
Tumblr media
Queen Amber (Rose McIver) and King Richard (Ben Lamb) are welcoming a third royal to their family. (Photo: Cos Aelenei)
3. “A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby”
Aldovia’s royals Queen Amber (Rose McIver) and King Richard (Ben Lamb) are expecting a royal heir at the start of the third installment of the “Christmas Prince” films, but that isn’t the only “bump” the pair encounters. Before a ceremonious signing of a peace treaty with ally country Penglia, the document goes missing.
If the drama had been heightened, “Royal Baby” may have really ruled. Unfortunately, the flick is cheesier than a holiday cheese board and offers little in terms of actual excitement.

Kristin Davis’ “Holiday in the Wild” character meets Rob Lowe’s in Africa. (Photo: Ilze Kitshoff)
4. “Holiday in the Wild”
This film is worthy of a silver bell. Kristin Davis (“Sex and the City”) plays Kate, a non-practicing veterinarian who’s become a lady who lunches. When her husband walks out because he no longer loves her, Kate ventures solo to Africa, on a second honeymoon she’d planned, where she meets Derek (Rob Lowe).
Despite its title, the movie is pretty predictable. You don’t need “Long Island Medium” Theresa Caputo’s powers to see where a movie like this is going, and “Holiday in the Wild” leaves something to be desired. At times, the drama falls flatter than an African savanna. However, it is a fun wink that Kate’s son Luke is played by Lowe’s son, John Owen.

Here’s a first look of Christian Serratos as Selena Quintanilla in the new Netflix series
Tumblr media
“Let It Snow” centers on many teens characters, including those portrayed by Matthew Noszka, left, Kiernan Shipka and Mitchell Hope. (Photo: Steve Wilkie/Netflix)
5. “Let It Snow”
Compared to the other two flicks, this movie feels the most different from the typical Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas movies. Focused on high school students caught in a snow storm on Christmas Eve, its ensemble cast includes  Kiernan Shipka, Isabela Merced, Shameik Moore, Odeya Rush, Liv Hewson, Mitchell Hope, Matthew Noszka and Jacob Batalon. Joan Cusack plays a peculiar tinfoil-clad, smartphone-averse tow-truck driver, who we would’ve loved to learn more about.
The teen characters are relatable enough, experiencing things young adults do: being in love with your best friend, coming into your sexuality, relationship issues. But “Let It Snow” is missing a certain X factor, which for the season we will dub Christmas magic, that could’ve had it pulling into first place via one-horse open sleigh.
New on Netflix for November 2019: ‘The King,’ ‘The Crown’ and ‘The Irishman’
