did you know that macaque's staff has a name in jttw too? It's called the "acquiescent staff of iron"/ “Acquiescent Iron Pole Arm” (随心铁杆兵, "Suíxīn tiěgǎn bīng"), or Tùy Tâm Thiết Can Binh in vnese. It clearly mirrors wukong's staff in name, the “As-You-Will Gold-Banded Staff” (Ruyi Jingu Bang), or Như Ý Kim Cô Bổng.

Now here's me being crazy based on the vnese translation alone, do NOT think of this as truth but there's at least a smidge of sense in my rambling because vietnamese is very close to chinese due to our history (the fancy names above and our old literature used a kind of phonetic translation of chinese called Hán Việt) and the meaning of chinese words more or less can be inferred by our Hán Việt version:

So the word "Như Ý" in wukong's staff name in almost only used in the phrase/blessing "Vạn sự như ý" in modern vnese, which means "may all things go your way/according to your wishes". Meanwhile, the phrase "Tùy Tâm" is used when asked about some sort of favor, for example a charity when asking for your donation will ask you to give an amount "according to your heart".

You see it right? "Như Ý" is more passive, you wish for it but not necessary go out of your way to achieve it, and "Tùy Tâm" being used in situations where your own conscience/empathy is judged, it demands you to actively question yourself to make an action. I've decided the names can play into mtwgo shadowpeach's mental states. Wukong wants freedom but afraid to pursue it at the cost of his sworn brotherhood, while macaque has always assessed the effort it takes to join in a fight, but ultimately he decided to go through all that hardship to right this wrong.

Furthermore, "Ý" means thoughts/ideas/will, which is one of the reasons the book has wukong store his staff in his ear/take the staff out of his "head", "Tâm" means heart in its literal sense and feelings in a slightly more abstract sense, so thats why i have macaque pull his shadow staff from the magic core in his chest. Fun detail isnt it? :3c

One more thing is that theres a chinese saying that goes like "mind-monkey, will-horse" (Tâm Viên Ý Mã) so Tâm -> Mind is also a very wukong thing. That says, in mtwgo macaque's staff/ his strength to fight is summoned to serve wukong :)

The altered form of wukong's staff that macaque gonna use in mtwgo will be called Suixin Jingu Bang (As-You-Feel Gold-Banded Staff or Tùy Tâm Kim Cô Bổng), combining macaque's resolve/loyalty and wukong's strength. When he swings that staff with its body painted in his own color, his victims will also know wukong's might when the golden glint of its ends becomes the last thing they see.

so instead of get back into art after the basic recovery of my surgery, I instead replayed Mario and Luigi Partners in Time…and why does nobody talk about this game?? Hardly ever see it in the Super Mario tag. Like. It’s actually insane how dark it gets. People die. Like actually die. Not as dark as SPM but like we see the dead spirits of Toads get siphoned through tubes. They had their life force sucked out of them via genetically modified trees. Yoshis were eaten by a larger alien Yoshi and were gonna be turned into more alien Yoshis via a factory IN THE GIANT ALIEN YOSHI. We see a town that’s literally just “Christmas is Cancelled” the city. Their mayor probably died. We never see these places restored because there are no survivors to restore them. The citizens of Hollijolli village probably all died by the time the bros shut down the Vim factory. And also there’s the entire scene with the Star Gate. Like. Hello??

maybe I’ll stream or let’s play this game and share it here because I think. More ppl should talk about Partners in Time. I’ll say it too: I like it more than Bowser’s Inside Story. By like a LOT. That’s my ramble for the night. Ttyd day tomorrow. Yippee

i don’t know how much understanding emile would have for the endless, tbh. everything about it feels so cruel to him—taking away people’s memories to spare them pain, taking living people to keep the dead propped up and half-alive in a daydream.

so much about his loss has shaped him into who he is, and though he’d love to see his father again, he would never give up the memory of him. he lives on in emile, who fights to make him proud and honor him in all that he does….

also not to only talk about my favourite character, but whats happening, with the apogee solstice and ludinus basically trying to kill the gods, directly effects caduceus. like he has to know right? he knew about cognouza/the somnovum before any of tmn did (though he didn't understand it) because of the wildmother, at least partially. and then the whole cr2 and especially the aeor arc she was giving him these desperate, scared visions.. like the wildmother was scared so that was fun (screams).. so basically matthew mercer im rattling the bars let me in i want to know if he knows!!!!!!! his family were basically made by and for the gods! hes the wildmother's most special little guy!! he's far enough north that the leyline auroras will be super visible! augh .. oh man this is making me wish at least one of bells hells was more religious ksjnfkajn i love the horror of like , imagine that your life has been lived surrounding the god of all nature and wilderness. . like she is nature. and then someone is just straight up trying to murder her and every other god too. think i would be a wee bit Nervous if im honest

It's free on steam! Super weird and horror-y and atmospheric with lotsa mystery n lore to try and pick apart. I love lookin at the steam discussions bc people always have cool observations my peanut brain never picked up on

She's taken up residence in the catacombs beneath the town that Psychopomp goes stomping around in in-game. She's got that TBH stare n minor brain damage, but she's a sweetheart. she's Lightly Dungeon Meshi inspired bc I made her be pretty good at figuring out how to eat what she can find down there, even if it seems Less Than Edible. She's got some serious issues but I wont get into it.

She likes to hang out with the species of creatures called "Thraits" that also have made home down there after humans took over the surface. She shares food with them and they let her hang in their villiage n teach her about their culture since she's so curious about it.

She got fanny packs for snaccs and uses a soup pot for a weapon and I lov her

Diff anon here but yeah it’s weird because even in episode 1 Din was not that antagonistic towards IG-11 despite having no character devlopement yet, he was annoyed and sarcastic but he didn’t threaten to actually harm him before they found Grogu. He showed concern for IG-11 pretty quickly after he got damaged and even when he distrusted Kuill’s programming he didn’t spit in the droids face about it. It just makes no sense why two seasons later he’s suddenly treating them like dirt.

right like din was obviously unfairly prejudiced about droids since he let his childhood trauma color his view of them even into adulthood, but he wasn’t like, “i’m going to beat you the fuck up” level of prejudiced? he just didn’t want to be around them, he didn’t trust them, but he wasn’t ever violent about it

din imo is just not someone who lashes out in anger often anyway. the only time he was ever really impulsively violent was in chapter 2 when he saw the jawas trashed his ship and he just started shooting and he killed like three all at once. but i mean also, like, arvala-7 is a remote ass planet (moon?), and having your spaceship ransacked to nonfunctionality is basically a death sentence (this is something ive talked about a lot in the past how i want to see more of it in sw, how any malfunction in this super futuristic tech can still leave you stranded to die a very very lonely and mundane death. despite all this fancy tech you cant escape the cold unforgiving void of space; if your hyperdrive goes out, you are DEAD.). so even then it’s like, well i can’t entirely blame him for going in guns blazing to try to stop them from destroying his ship. but yes this was the only time it was ever truly impulsive and clearly out of anger, every other time he kills people he’s much more calculated and unemotional about it, like it’s just a necessity and so he has to do it it’s never anything personal. so the only thing that makes this scene an outlier really is just the fact he kills out of emotion

so even though his dislike of droids WAS personal, he still never got violent about it. as you said, he was perfectly fine with ig-11, he was just kinda like 🙄🙄 about it the whole time but that’s barely anything

and now in s3 he’s suddenly just like, assaulting them? threatening to kill them? especially in a fucking Bad Cop Good Cop maneuver? it’s just, i know he wasn’t nice about droids in the past, but it was NEVER to THIS extent, and it’s especially egregious considering he went through that whole fucking arc between s1 and s2 about becoming more okay with being around droids?? HELL, even in S3 ITSELF, din has R5 as a droid companion??????? if he hates droids so much to where he’s going to act like THAT in chapter 21 then why was he totes okay with R5 just a few episodes prior?

Also speaking of R5, where the fuck has he been this whole time these past few episodes. now that i think about it i genuinely cant remember. like did he just become yet another plotpoint left behind and forgotten
