I don't think I really have any really solid headcanons and also canon keeps validating me left and right (FLUFFY DOMESTIC DIAFAM IS REAL). mostly just kind of...impressions and general thoughts, if that makes sense! lately though I've been kind of obsessed with thinking about Lilia's hair, and specifically when/why he ended up cutting it. (l-look, we're bouncing around the timeline and I gotta make decisions about these things when I draw, it's relevant) (I mean I would probably be weirdly fixated on this anyway, but.)

I think I've settled on the idea that he kept it long until he went to NRC, partly because 1) I like drawing The Ponytail, and 2) I think he thought of NRC as a chance to reinvent himself a bit! he gets to go and be a wacky carefree teenager for a few years and have fun! (officially he's there to keep an eye on Son #1, but how much trouble could he get into, really.) so he gave himself a Cool Teen Haircut to go with his fresh new Cool Teen Persona!

also maybe he had some reflection on his hair's troubled past with three kids...

...and had to weigh his vanity versus the fact that he was going off to be around hundreds of kids on a daily basis, and. the choice suddenly seemed obvious.

i like to think, as a hc or a theory (because it’s definitely possible), that charles has had a few kisses throughout his high school years, sure, but past that he’s undeniably a virgin– well, kind of undeniably, because I think he’d deny it if found out by trying to use technicalities (“I mean that one time there was friction involved–“), but to any reasonable person, and by occult standards (see: edwin being a virgin sacrifice), he’s a virgin.

and i think this because it seems like him to fib about his level of experience (like he did when agreeing he’d sleep with crystal, matching her level of casualness about it) when in the presence of people who do, actually, have experience, in the hopes he doesn’t come off as lame or childish. given what we know about his “friends” when he was alive, they seem like the type to have teased or bullied boys– especially in their own circle– who haven’t gotten laid, or at the very least would’ve thought less of someone for it. and given what we know about charles, i don’t think he’d be nearly as sleazy and inconsiderate as his group when it comes to landing girls with the primary intention of adding to his body count. and considering he’s only supposed to be 16? and has never mentioned any significant relationships pre-death? it just seems unlikely.

all that to say– I can see him maintaining that facade of experience and confidence literally right up until the moment it matters, and in the heat of the moment getting nervous and embarrassed because “uhhh. so I may have been exaggerating some things.” though he’s not totally clueless either, I think it’d take a bit of a soft heart to heart moment for him to be reassured enough that he won’t fuck up and hurt his partner to go any further.

anyway not sure what the relevance of this is, but it’s something.

I love that everyone has had such a strong response to the newest picture of David...but Anon #1, your message made me cackle and is by far the best thing I’ve read all day. Hahah. Well, since we’re here to discuss, let’s get the picture up again:

To your question, Anon #2, I do indeed think David may be wearing eyeliner. It’s not applied thickly (the way it was when he played Peter Vincent in the remake of Fright Night), but just enough to be noticeable, which I like. I am also enjoying that it isn’t drawn to the corners of his eyes, therefore keeping them more open and making them look even bigger and browner than they already are.

I have thought for some time that David likes to look pretty, which may include wearing eyeliner/eye makeup and perhaps a touch of lipstick. (I remember reading that it was David who picked out the purple lipstick for Nanny Ashtoreth in GO 1, so that is the other reason I have a feeling he enjoys occasionally experimenting with makeup.)

But yes, he is certainly aging quite magnificently as the world’s oldest twink. What’s amazing to me is that as hot as David looks in a suit or formal wear, he looks just as (if not more) incredibly attractive in a simple white T-shirt. It goes to show that there really is something about the way clothes hang on him and that it’s him who makes the clothes look good, rather than the other way around.

Anon #1, I am assuming you mean you are praying for Michael’s self-control, and I am right there with you. I have a strong feeling that he and David are FaceTiming or at least talking daily while Michael is in Australia, and every time they do, Michael looks at him like this:

Michael managed to show the flimsiest amount of restraint toward David on the GO 1 press tour (the loving looks, the mouth staring, the lip licking), so I can only imagine what we are in store for on the GO 2 press tour. I’m sure Michael will have plenty of opportunities to get his hands on David before then, though, probably just as soon as he returns from Down Under in January.

In the meantime, though...yes. Let us pray for Michael, who is now several thousand miles away from his gorgeous Scottish boyfriend best friend lover (I can’t quite keep track anymore) and undoubtedly missing him something fierce. Would that we could all be there for the reunion, but in the meantime, at least we have David’s lovely, ageless beauty to enjoy...

wip guessing game words: red, hands, and/or desk

All three came up in the first WIP I searched, and it's actually one you inspired! I blame you for this.

"Red" and "hands" appeared so close to each other that it was easier to just copy the sentence in between them while I was at it.

"Aw, jeez, y'know, Doctor, uh, I mean, Pierce–" Henry stammered, already ruddy cheeks growing redder.

"Hawkeye. Dr. Pierce is my father, and if it's all the same to you I'd rather not think about him while I'm doing what it is I'm about to do." The whole time he was talking, he gestured vaguely with his hands, and Henry nearly made himself dizzy trying to follow them.

A beat as he reclined against the edge of Henry's desk, stretching out his legs and fighting back a self-satisfied smirk as he watched Henry run his gaze up the length of them.

A little midnight rant (??) more of a ramble actually.

But anyway, I kept getting a lot of "Feminist" videos when they are actually Terf videos disguise as feminist videos or just flat-out Terf videos but don't want to use the word Terf because "it's a hateful thing to say." When really... no. It's not, it literally means Trans Exclusion Radical Feminist.

But anyway, I digress, my question, when did the word feminist lose its proper meaning?

There's a reason why I don't put feminist on my bio because many folks already (sadly) have come to the assumption that feminism/feminist means an all-women club aka "bio women" only.

When... no... feminism was started by women but only because in the working force women were really seen as stay-at-home wives. But because of the women's rights movement is when the law became more lenient in allowing women to work.

Feminist also means helping others such as men of different races as well to get proper jobs and payment as well. That sentence is gonna confuse someone sorry, to ramble more on what I mean. You have to understand the payment system. It's still a problem in today but way way back then, it was a lot worse. Many foreigners that came to America weren’t getting proper payment or not paid at all. But were really taken advataged at the fact they were aliens so their boss would make threats to them such as getting them deported or worse.

Because of the feminist movement, women realize they weren't the only ones getting mistreated by the system so we, feminist, would stick with them and fight a fight for equal rights. In which we won but obviously still need more work.

There is so much more history in which I can't really type all of that here because that would derail this post purpose on my question.

As a true feminist (ew, I don't like that I have to call myself a true feminist just so I don't lump myself with the falseys), knowing the history of what a feminist is... When did the word feminist lose it proper meaning?

I'm not chronically online as I use to be in my teen years (but knowing that bad habit messed up my mental and physical health). Please explain to me like I have been living under rock. Don't explain to me that undermine my intelligence (I've had people that done that to me before it's not fun) but in a way that is like high school teaching. Except take out the censoring bit.
