CHAOS THEORY SPOILER REVIEW

Cause I just finished it and I have thoughts!

Sooooo I honestly have mixed feelings about Chaos Theory if I’m going to be honest I feel like there are some things that worked in my opinion and some things that didn’t really work for me so I’ll be separating this review into three parts: Things I liked, Things I wasn’t a fan of, and General thoughts.

Things I liked:

-The animation was absolutely gorgeous, it was such a step up from Camp Cretaceous that it’s weird to think that they’re apart of the same series. The team behind it did an absolutely amazing job!

-The last two episodes. Oh my god were those last two episodes so good, they had me at the edge of my seat as well as episode 10 finally giving us interactions between the entirety of the nublar 5

-YASAMMY. I think yasammy was done so well this season. Their fight was so real, nobody was totally in the wrong, but they both weren’t communicating their feelings to each other well and they resolved it in the end. It was just perfect

-Yasmina Fadoula. She was written so well I loved how they didn’t just completely forget she has PTSD and anxiety and included that in her character arc for this season. I also loved how they used her to address how bad it is to infantilize those with mental disorders. (Yaz and I are anxiety twins 🧘‍♀️)

-Mateo. The GOAT. I am the number one Mateo fan, dont ever forget it. I love that man and I will stand by him, I was stressing for his life during episode 10.

-Microbang villain girl was such a menacing villain at the end and I honestly love her. It’s clear that while she is using the atrociraptors for evil deeds she does clearly care for them. I desperately need to know more about her…

-Kenji and Brooklynn��s new voice actors do such a good job with the characters and while I’ll miss Jenna and Ryan, their new voices were casted very well!

Things I wasn’t a big fan of:

-Now to address the elephant in the room…Darius being in love with Brooklynn. (I’m going to try to look at this through an objective pov, but since I don’t ship dinostar obviously there’ll be a slight bias)(nothing wrong if you do ship Dinostar I’m happy for you, but these are just my feelings) Im not a big fan of this. To me I’ve never really read Darius and Brooklynn as being romantic together and their friendship is something I truly cherished about JWCC. I do see why they probably decided to make the decision to have Darius be in love with Brooklynn, but to me it’s kind of upsetting in a way to have Darius’s extreme grief response not be just because they were best friends. It feels like the writers were saying “Well, he’s not experiencing this grief so hard because she was his best friend, but it’s actually because he loves her!”. We’ve seen loss be something Darius takes extremely hard (His dad’s death and Ben’s death) and so I don’t really see why they made it so he was in love with her to justify his response when it’s in character without it. Idk man…

-Brooklynn being alive….HEAR ME OUT HEAR ME OUT. THIS IS NOT BECAUSE I HATE BROOKLYNN SHES ACTUALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS. But idk these fake out deaths are starting getting to wear me down. Even Bumpy had a fake out death 😭. I get why they kept her alive being as she is a beloved character, but I just think it would’ve been better for her to be a character that somewhat haunts the narrative. It adds more onto the mystery, not only that but it allows the nublar five to explore “Hey our friend was hiding things from us and we’ll never truly get answers, but we’re going to find out what lead to her death and put a stop to it”. Which was what the nublar five are on a path to, until Brooklynn inevitably shows back up and explains everything. Also why did they give her the 2017 Katy Perry haircut…

-Kenji and Darius’s dynamic. I loved how they used their dynamic at the beginning of the show with Kenji blaming Darius for Brooklynn’s death, but beyond that moment their dynamic felt off to me. It was not helped by the whole Darius being in love with Brooklynn thing, but it just felt like they toned down their brotherly bond in this show (ironic since this is the first time we see them call themselves brothers)

General thoughts

-Jesus Christ was Kenji this shows punching bag 😭. He literally does not get a break, it just keeps on coming, breaking up with his girlfriend because she’s not invested in their relationship anymore, living in a trailer with a failing rock climbing business, his girlfriend kept secrets from him all while working with his estranged dad behind his back, his dad trying to use him again and then dying saving him, AND his brother was in love with his ex girlfriend. All in the span of ten episodes. If I was him I would have a mental breakdown every single day.

-Do yall think Ben actually has a girlfriend? I’m like at a 70/40 split, because he only talks about her two times and the first time he brings her up she totally sounds fake. “She’s from…Europe” Why did you have to think so much Benjamin? Also he fully just said she’s from the continent of Europe rather than a specific country in Europe. Also also it’s implied he hasn’t had a phone on him for a while so how does a long distance relationship work if he doesn’t have any means to contact her??? And he doesn’t even have a picture of her in his van. That man is hiding something I need to know…

-Ben and Darius had like 30-40 minutes of screen time shared between them, which is weird because like most of the show was marketed with them being the main protags and they barely interact beyond episode 4. (Their dynamic was too strong for people to handle “do you talk to your mother with that mouth” broke the world)

-Bumpy having a baby is something I predicted and I’m happy I was right!

Anyway that’s really it, sorry this was pretty long and excuse any typos or grammatical errors, but these were just some of my thoughts!

regarding the whole jjk& gege hatespread movement going on rn, i think this is the perfect illustration of what happened when """trendhoppers""" (i really do not like that term) get into a popular manga because of the characters (fangirls) or the powerscale (..reddit anime bros?😭). and like, to some extent, that's fine!! fangirls are and will always be a big part of fandoms and are a big part of what keeps the community alive. i think the problem lays on the fact that jjk got a wide audience who is used to very binary good guys/bad guys representation in anime with same schemes repeated all over and never questioned their grounding bases. and some really don't like to be confronted to new characters paths or visions (especially if they do not accord to their own).

also the fact that people tend to move to the next shiny thing when the hype is over usually leaves the fandom with people who are actually interested in the story, whereas jjk never left the big screens. so i feel like a lot of the people who take a lot of place in this discourse are only there because they want to argue about who bodies who and "x could wipe the floor with y" and "x is so me guys" etc. they completely disregard the story and it's building, which is (besides interesting (and it is always good to remind it)) the WORK of SOMEONE who puts his time and effort into it.

most people treat work as content (which is bad)(coughcapitalismcough) and get angry when it's not presented in the way they want it to be☹️

You are so right anon!

And do you know what's the worst thing I've ever seen? Someone who said that Satoru couldn't die because the consumer (us, the readers) is always right ☠️ That take is so fucking disgusting, I don't even know where to begin to express the disgust I feel. There are people in the fandom who don't understand anything, they are the typical self-centered people who believe it's okay to throw trash on the school floor because there are hired cleaners. They are disgusting, I don't regret saying it.

The good thing about these chapters is that it's being shown who in the fandom are good people and who are narcissistic and ethnocentric wrecks who believe they have the power to decide on the author of the work. I've spent the last few months mass blocking these guys, ugh, I can't stand them. Worst of all, they live in their own delulu world where a sad ending (or//insert any ending they don't like) is not allowed. They really think jjk should have an ending where Sukuna is defeated and that is, again, self-centered. They say that, otherwise, everything would have been for nothing. Hmm? Since when does letting evil win undo an entire story? They are unable to value jjk for its history. They are doing the same thing that the jujutsu world did with Satoru, they are dehumanizing everything and they are so self-centered they don't even realize it.

People are literally dehumanizing both the author and the characters themselves, forcing their own vision of the narrative at the expense of whatever. Also, I've noticed that many of these profiles just spew hate, literally. That's their whole personality. You see a review in your dash, you enter the profile and surprise! that person hates everything they consume, they don't have a single good word in absolutely any chapter, they hate the author and claim that “Gege doesn't know his own characters” (as if characters aren't allowed to change and evolve in their views, ideology, etc, lmao)

These people are the worst, they spread super negative vibes. They seem very immature to me, because, if you don't like something, why would you continue consuming it? That's straight toxic, and I don't think they have a proper mental health if they're like this with the rest of things happening in their lives. They like to hate and they live off it, that is the only answer.

On the other hand, they are forcing “Gege has a bad narrative” to cover up the fact they are incapable of leaving the fandom and seeing the characters as characters and not their puppets, they force their fanon vision on them and then cry when they discover that they aren't like they expected. Shoko is an example of this. She was always certainly cold, but the fandom always painted her as Satoru's super hyper bestie, as a victim of Satoru's “selfisness” after the kfc breakup (god forbid a teenager grieving) and forced on her that she's a very good person when in reality she is still a doctor who passed her exams by cheating and who showed no empathy in lots of situations, when seeing, for example, Yuuji's corpse.

People also complain that the final fight is taking too long, lol, fights in shonen are like that, that's the point of the genre, babe, jjk is literally sold and promoted as a fight shonen. I honestly think that those who say that are people with a tiktok span of attention. (they would complain if the fight lasted for ten chapters too) Also, what a coincidence gege's narrative dropped when they started waiting weekly for a chapter, huh? What a coincidence they started disliking jjk when they started waiting, also all characters now seemed to be bad written after they started waiting another coincidence! Fast consuming has RUINED people's perception of media.

The moral of this is: enjoy what you consume, be mature about your consuming choices and have a good relationship with the things you like. Stay away from the negativity! And, most importantly, don't treat the author as your slave.

By the way, ik people have a twitter mentality so i'll say this for those. I'm not saying people can't have their own opinions, don't force that narrative on me lol It's the way you express your views that categorizes wether you're a normal person or an asshole. For example, I would have loved Yūta to stay out of this and leave Sukuna to Yuuji, since it was his time to shine! I think Yuuji deserves to have the spotlight and end everything (or try to), carry the final fight and all that. But I won't complain about it, nor drop the manga, because I'm not an inmature self-centered fifteen year old :)

Prom season is that time of year in school that many students dread. It's when young women embark on a quest to find the perfect dress and all the accessories to go with it. And then there's the daunting task of finding a date, which often adds to the stress of the season.

You had the perfect dress and all the accessories ready for the event, but there was one thing missing - a date. Typically, Jenson would accompany you to such events, but this time he was away racing and wouldn't be back in time for the prom.

“Oh sweetheart you should really think about going, you don’t want to miss out on a once in a lifetime experience” your mom said rubbing your back to sooth you after you had been crying.

You sat on your bed, feeling frustrated and alone. You had never been one to enjoy being alone, and the thought of attending prom without Jenson made you feel more miserable than usual.

As you sat there, wallowing in self-pity, you had no idea that Jenson was carefully planning his surprise return home for the event. He knew how much you were struggling and wanted to make sure you felt special on this night.

A few days later, you were in your room getting ready for prom. You had done your makeup and were putting on the finishing touches to your hairstyle when you heard a knock at the door.

You assumed it was just one of your friends coming over to get ready together, so you opened the door with a big smile on your face. But when you saw Jenson standing there in a sharp suit with a bouquet of flowers in his hand, you couldn’t believe your eyes.

Jenson beamed as he saw your reaction. He had planned this surprise for weeks and was thrilled at finally seeing the look on your face.

“Surprise!” he said, a huge grin on his face as he presented you with the bouquet of flowers. "I couldn’t let my favorite girl go to prom without a date, could I?”

Your eyes welled up with tears as you took in the sight before you. This was the last thing you had expected, but it was exactly what you needed. You couldn't believe that Jenson had gone through all this trouble just for you.

“Jenson, this is incredible,” you said, embracing him tightly. “I can’t believe you did this for me. You’re the best!”

Jenson chuckled softly as he hugged you back. “Of course I did it for you,” he said, pulling back to look into your eyes. “I couldn’t bear the thought of you going to prom alone. Plus, who else could I count on to dance the night away with me?”

You laughed and playfully swatted his arm. “You mean who else would be gullible enough to fall for your terrible dance moves?” you teased.

Jenson feigned hurt, then grinned. “What are you talking about? I’m a fantastic dancer!” he retorted.

You rolled your eyes and playfully shoved him again. “Right. And I’m an astronaut. Now come help me finish getting ready before we’re late.”

Jenson chuckled and followed you into the house, excited to spend the night with his favorite girl.

As you finished getting ready, you couldn't help but feel grateful for Jenson's thoughtfulness. You knew it had taken a lot of planning and effort to arrange this surprise, and the gesture alone meant the world to you.

Soon, you were ready to go, and Jenson escorted you downstairs, where your mom waited to take pictures of the two of you. After saying goodbye to your mom and posing for the pictures, you and Jenson headed out to his car. As he opened the door for you, he couldn't help but admire how incredible you looked in your dress.

On the drive to the prom, you and Jenson talked and laughed, enjoying each other's company and the anticipation of the night ahead. As you arrived at the prom venue, all the nerves and uncertainty you had felt earlier in the evening vanished. Jenson helped you out of the car and offered you his arm, and you walked into the prom together, feeling more confident than ever.

The night was perfect. You and Jenson danced and laughed, and the rest of the world faded away. You felt like the luckiest person in the world to have such a wonderful date by your side.

I wanna start with I love your blog sm and I’m not trying to jump on the train, in fact I don’t even mind if you just read this and don’t post or even just delete after you read, but I know where the “Rook gaslighter” thing comes from and wanted to explain (I also just LOVE talking about rook even if its negative). Im not explaining to change your mind but rather to inform!! Because I love spending hours analyzing the characters, pls don’t stop drawing rook!! Ever!!

ANYWAYS now that “please don’t hate me I have to uncontrollably explain everything about my favorite character(s) the second someone doesn’t know about one small detail 😭” is over, I will explain! During Vil’s lab wear vignette, Rook asks Vil when he’s going to start his new diet. Vil, confused, is like what??? Tf?? And rook is like “yeah :D you have put on 3 pounds exactly :)”. Vil is lowkey like wtf Rook I haven’t noticed shit and rook is like “okayyy but who do you believe? Me or literally anyone else?” And vil is like “yeah you’re right, I’ll adjust my diet, thank you rook”.

The ‘issue’ with the “rook is a gaslighter” is it’s SOLELY a fandom thing (and maybe with other characters, but still, like. Vil is a world class model he CANT put on weight like a normal person could because it’ll unfortunately affect his career. The beauty world is just like that, irl too. Plus, this is something he wants for himself, even if he admits to hating the diets during his overblot, it’s still a part of who he is). Vil, himself, views rook’s behavior as a helpful thing, he appreciates Rook’s supernaturally keen eye! He might be offended but ultimately he would not have Rook as his vice-prez if he didn’t respect or admire Rook in some way.

I adore the way you draw them together!! The one where vil is like “how dare you! Just because he’s strange doesn’t mean he’s like that!” And rook is behind him with blood on his face, he’s so cute! I recently found another blog that is similar to yours that I also wanted to see if you knew bc they draw rook out the same way you do! @/fadiesismin is so cool and I think you’d love their artwork!!! Also I’m very sorry for the long-winded ask, in my defense, I’m also a Sagittarius. Rook 🫶 Me, xoxoxoxoxo!!

Sagittarius Anon! I’m sorry it took this long to reply.

First of all, thank you for enjoying our stuff and for your support! I am very happy that you like the way we portray RookVil. Their relationship is very interesting and honestly quite nuanced; we don’t usually gravitate towards ships that have this strong of a “they’ve been dating for a while” vibe, but these two are just too charming. Probably because despite them deeply understanding each other and sharing a lot of values and passions, they really aren’t a perfect couple, and we get to see it in moments like the vignette you’ve mentioned, or Rook’s lab wear vignette, or on multiple other occasions. Rook isn’t the perfect boyfriend, in fact, he is quite a menace sometimes without really meaning harm (still, he technically made Vil cry at least once); but there also isn’t another person that would get Vil as deeply as Rook does and support him as well as Rook does. What they have is special, but isn’t perfect at all.

As you already know, we also love talking about characters a lot, so I even though I am late with this reply, I am happy to have an opportunity to talk about these two and Rook specifically. So thank you for sending this ask and waiting!

I’ve seen this vignette being used as an example of Rook being gaslighting/manipulative before, and to be honest, I don’t really get this argument. I understand that the reasoning is usually that Rook sounds similar to a man that lies to his girlfriend about her being fat because he wants her to be even skinnier or just to be an asshole about it, but here is the thing: this isn’t what Rook is doing though. Gaslighter always has ulterior motive behind their manipulations, even if it’s just to mess with someone else’s head for fun or to control this person. But with Rook (both in this vignette and in general), what you see is what you get: the man is brutally honest, sometimes even too honest. Vil himself is very aware of that and has mentioned it multiple times.

It’s just like you said! Vil never lets anyone forget that his looks are important to him (both because of his own standards and because he is a model), so of course Rook would comment on something that he noticed. This is the foundation of their relationship: Rook gives Vil his feedback because Rook sees things that other people don’t. Does it mean that this feedback is always 100% necessary and Vil should change things according to how Rook critiques him? Of course not. Maybe sometimes it would be better for Vil to just take it easy and relax instead of perfecting every single thing, but this isn’t what Vil wants for himself: he doesn’t want to be pampered, he wants to be appreciated for his hard work. Rook enables Vil’s perfectionism, but don’t forget that Rook is that force in Vil’s life that doesn’t let him forget what he is doing all that for (I’ve talked about Rook being protective of Vil’s “beauty” = love for art here). Vil having a toned body is something that Rook enjoys, but this is mainly something that Vil wants himself; I kind of think that as long as Vil’s passionate and unapologetic about things that he does, Rook would find beauty in him no matter how he looks. Remember him at the end of ch6 after Vil’s grandpafication? Yeah exactly.

Alright, I digress. The point I am trying to make is that Rook is very direct with Vil, sometimes even too direct, and this is the opposite of gaslighting. Even when he suggests things “lightly”, he is still upfront about them: he doesn’t try to plant any ideas in Vil’s head.

Rook sounds and acts like a jerk sometimes, but he means well, and it’s not an excuse, just a fact. In Rook’s head, Vil always takes his direct remarks and observations very well, what’s so different this time? Even if you’ve been with someone for years, fuckups are unavoidable, especially for someone who has problems with tact.

To reiterate: could this scene be triggering or upsetting? Absolutely. Are there people who comment on other’s weight to make them insecure or make them doubt themselves? Absolutely. Is this what Rook does? Absolutely not. It just isn’t true to his character: he wouldn’t gain anything if Vil started doubting himself, in fact, he would have hated it. He doesn’t want Vil to be insecure or unsure, this is literally what he confronted him about at the end of Ch5. He also doesn’t need to do anything for Vil to trust him more than others: Vil already does. When he was saying that he knew better than anyone or anything else, he stated the truth, and this is what so fucked up about Rook: he really does know better.

It’s very important to remember that these characters have their own circumstances and their own writing, and we are fucking blessed to have a cast of characters this interesting and complex.

By the way, I am saying all of this as someone who wouldn’t mind Rook being a gaslighter and could see fanon scenarios where it could work, but those need to be very well-written not to ruin his character, because honesty is an integral part of Rook Hunt. For better or worse.

Also, I know you haven’t mentioned Jade, Anon, but since this entire discussion started with comparing the two, I wanted to note that Jade’s Dorm Uniform vignette exists. Vil literally looked at him man and decided not to trust him for one moment, even scolded Rook for even humouring the idea that Jade was telling the truth. And this is just one instance; we are constantly being reminded by everyone in cast about the fact that Jade is shady and we shouldn’t take seriously the majority of things that he says (pretty much verbatim to what Floyd said about him in the Playful Land event). Jade doesn’t care about honesty, he doesn’t care about lying either: all he cares about is what to say to make the others react in the most interesting way possible. He loves messing with people, and the world is his playground….

(I am also pretty sure that he comments on Azul’s diet; this has nothing to do with gaslighting either, just thought I’d mention that since we’re talking about this)

Anyways, thank you again for your ask, Anon! I hope this wasn’t an exhausting read. I always feel like I haven’t said everything that I wanted to say, but fortunately I still have tons of replies to write, so I’ll have my chance..! Probably.

Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red-Moon Pact Ep 1-3

I love me some xanxia, so I'm jumping in. I've been PROMISED a happy ending so there had better be. Don't fuck with me cdrama!!!!

Anti-human fox spirit clan ruled by 3 terrifying women, I like them already

The scene of calculation of costs to raise a human child 😂😭

He's the descendant of a Dongfang clan who have extra special spiritual blood... as dangermousie has so eloquently argued: magical girl!! \o/

I don't really get what anyone's deal is in this drama, like why the different factions hate each other and the significance of the Grief Tree and why anyone other than the foxes care about it.... But that's standard for me with xanxia. I don't try too hard to work out the details & don't really worry about it. Xanxia is supposed to be pretty & have fantastical VIBES & I want the main couple to have a happy ending. Making plot coherent sense is a bonus, not a requirement.

Very much enjoying Gong Jun as the Extra Special™ orphan human raised among fox spirits, playing straight all the standard tropes regardless of gender. Makes everything fresh & fun.

His obvious crush on the 1,000 year old fox clan leader makes sense (anyone in his position would!). She's gorgeous, powerful, and is his benefactor. Distanced enough that she would have been perfect 'safe' crush material as a kid... But now he's all grow up

As an immortal fox, the 16 years this human child spent in their clan must have felt a blip in time. So it also makes sense she still doesn't quite understand him. It may have been the majority of his existence, but it's less than 2% of her lifespan so far. If we apply that timeframe to a human life, it's about 1 and a half days. 💁

FL sets up ML to be able to have a cathartic murder party with his parents' killers, even assigning some to stall them in a appropriately whimsical fairy manner. Crush worthy.

Him walking around all bloodsplattered later brought me back to Word of Honor.

I know he's supposed to take back over the Divine Flame Villa but I don't want him to! Stay with the foxes! (tho if this goes the traditional route, the magical girl will regain her powers & family legacy and the stern, ancient immortal love interest will soften & retire from their responsibilities to accompany their young sprite.)

All the awards to the makeup crew. Gong Jun looks the part PERFECTLY. He has this dewy look of fantasy maiden protagonist. The soft lipgloss, the bangs, the makeup softening his face! The flowing clothes. It's not too much, it feels just right. A++ 💯💯

The plaintive sad eyes ML keeps giving 👏

We already knew from Eternal Love that Yang Mi can capably play an immortal who feels distanced from mortal concerns. But this isn't a retread of Bai Qian, who was unrestrained and relished life's pleasures.

I expect that our standard love trial sidequest in the mortal world will be instead those 3 stories we saw on the trailer. If that means we can avoid amnesia & drama for the otp, sounds good to me

The white fox plotline is going to be incredibly annoying, I can tell

The big black cloud of evil lady who appears to be our Big Bad feels like another Miao Luo from Eternal Love of Dream

Dazai truly has become Oda in every way imaginable now. :’ ) the final words he gives to Sigma are the exact same words Oda gives to Dazai in the original scene Asagiri wrote for the end of the Dark Era stage play, 後は頼んだよ, “I will leave the rest to you.”

And I really love the progression of the way his eyes look in this chapter, and how Sigma is allowed to have this moment of questioning and rebelling against all the faith Dazai had naturally been leading him to place in him up to this point, which is what I hoped would happen. He’s been confused ever since Dazai first chose him, and everything he’s ever known about how everyone sees/treats him turned upside down by Dazai’s words and actions, and just when he’s finally started to feel like he’s found some hope and lowered his guard, Dazai pulls him back underwater, instantly reinforcing all of Sigma’s trust issues and reinforcing that he should never believe in anyone, because (he thinks) everyone lives to manipulate other people. Dazai’s dark eyes here reinforce that, too, and the other panels around this point where they look white and hollow and demonic, all like Fyodor’s. He appears like an evil, looming force pulling him back under, trying to kill him, when Sigma is so close to the freedom of the air he desperately wants (aka free from pain, which is what he’s been seeking his whole life).

But then Dazai makes this face, and the first one I posted above, and Sigma understands, even without words, that Dazai doesn’t have evil intent: on the contrary, he actually is bound and determined to save his life -- and the light in his eyes comes out through this determination and kindness, arguably the most light we’ve ever seen his eyes have in the entire manga (in the “I leave the rest to you” panel too). The “No” could be Dazai wordlessly telling him to not leave the water, but my first assumption was that it was Sigma telling himself no, stopping his own train of thought about Dazai being the same as Fyodor and someone he shouldn’t have trusted -- he soon realizes why Dazai stopped him, and that he’s still going to try to save him, that he wasn’t wrong about him, and it’s all because Dazai’s earnest expressions get through to him.

And it’s just so heartwarming to see how far Dazai has come. :’ ) He tried so hard to save Sigma (doing the most physical action we’ve ever seen him do, really), did his best to be reassuring and comforting to him afterwards, and then reaffirmed his promise to ensure he escaped Meursault alive, his final words to Sigma echoing Oda’s and his last action being to save an orphan, just like Oda did in his last moments. Obviously Dazai isn’t actually going to die, he’ll be saved somehow, but I do think as of right now he really does think this is the end for him, and that he didn’t foresee the elevator dropping -- he was examining the wires a few chapters ago because he thought he might need to know how to open the doors in case Fyodor pulled an uno reverse, hence why he looks more annoyed than shocked when the water starts, but here, when the drop collision sequence is initiated, he looks genuinely shook in comparison. There’d be no reason for him to give the thumbs up if he knew more danger was on the way, either; that’d just be cruel. No, I don’t think he saw this coming, and it’s important that that turns out to be the case: it’s important that he spent what he believes to have been his last moments saving someone like Oda wanted for him, and doing what Oda would have done in the same situation. That doesn’t mean that it’s okay that Dazai throws his life away so easily, and cares so little for his own safety; he still has a long way to go in that regard. But it’s still so beautiful to see how much he’s changed, and how much he’s truly begun to embody Oda and his legacy; the fact that he messed up and miscalculated, because Dazai isn’t infallible, but in turn didn’t hesitate to use his last moments to save Sigma. Oda would be so proud for everything he did here. :’ ) 💖

There are a lot of options for how Dazai will be saved, and by who, but personally I hope (and I kind of expect) that Sigma chooses to not give up on him and ultimately plays a role in saving his life, to return the favor and repay him for his kindness. Not only would it be a beautiful way to initiate Sigma’s ADA entrance exam as people have said, but it would bring the Dazai > Atsushi > Sigma chain full circle: Dazai saved Atsushi at the start of the series, allowing him to (spiritually) save Sigma at sky casino thanks to the growth fostered in him by Dazai, and now finally, Sigma could potentially save Dazai thanks to Atsushi kickstarting his own growth (and Dazai continuing it). Fyodor is overly cocky right now and so tunnel-visioned on killing Dazai, it’s possible that he has no idea that Sigma managed to escape the elevator and is now a wild card; even if Sigma doesn’t go as far as killing Fyodor himself (which I don’t want, tbh; that’s endgame stuff arcs down the line and imo Nikolai and Dazai should be the ones involved with that), he could throw a wrench in the jailbreak duel, and help Dazai and Chuuya get out alive. It would be poetic, and only fitting, for Fyodor to underestimate and be outdone by the kind of person Dazai told him is the strongest in chapter 77 -- a self-proclaimed “ordinary man” -- who could only have the strength to take such action thanks to the chain of kindness that Oda originally started. 💖

You talked a little while ago about why you don't think Shidou would make a good father to Amane (agreed) and proposed the idea of Mahiru adopting Amane. That's cute but I want to tell you about my post-MILGRAM headcanon:

Amane joins the Kajiyamas

Not Fuuta specifically adopting her, but like him taking her back to his family's house. I'm sure they'd have a spare room

I think people don't think about Fuuta's homelife much, or if they do they take Fuuta's one interrogation question where he calls his dad an old fogey and assume its like, abusive

And don't get me wrong, I don't think the Kajiyama household are perfect. Fuuta' beautician sister surely hasn't helped when it comes to Fuuta's body image issues and I'm betting they're all a bunch of tsunderes too embarrassed to say they love each other

But in a series where most of the abused characters are still convinced their abuser loved them/acted out of love. Seeing a guy not be afraid to call his dad a loser is almost a green flag

I think it'd be good for Amane to not necessarily be adopted as the lone child to a single parent but get to be introduced to a very different style of family unit from her own One where its normal to express different opinions or disagreements or even have arguments and not have it be the end of the world

Amane already has a snarky side to her, I bet it'd flourish in a brash household like the Kajiyama's (or at least how I imagine them to be)

I agree -- I never interpreted Fuuta's family as abusive or harmful, just not super close and struggling a bit after his mother left. (And yeah, all as openly emotional as him😭) They seem stable and very capable to taking in a extra, very well-behaved child. Assuming Fuuta is the way he is because of them, that atmosphere of being very honest and forward would work well for her. They say things as they are, little by little pointing out the harmful parts of her worldview. Like you said, none of them make excuses about harmful behavior stemming from love, so she'd get a really healthy dose of truth in that area. She never feels coddled or treated like a baby. They care for her while treating her very maturely.

I absolutely love how well she and Fuuta get along, with that snarky side to her that you mentioned. It would allow her to fit in well in the new household, getting the sense of belonging she'll lose after leaving the cult. Also, seeing how Fuuta and his sister let things slip and aren't perfect sons/daughters, she'll be able to relax about earning a parent's love through perfect behavior. She'll probably stay exactly the same, but her stress about it will fade <3

I doubt Fuuta's father can ever replace the hole she'll have from her own father, but the addition of an older sister will be huge. Amane will never get the feeling her mother is being replaced, but the woman will still fill the gap of the older, same-gender role model she needs. Her beautician job may throw Amane at first (being an indulgence in vanity), but it isn't as in-your-face as other careers. I think she could definitely ease Amane into accepting it, and over time, accepting her own personal "indulgence."

Plus, her moving in would also be really good for Fuuta! I think he'd recognize there's a ton of fun things she missed out on, and that heroic side of him outweighs the part that cringes: he gripes and groans about going to "kid places," but he's always the one to announce "I can't believe you've never been to __, we're going right now!!" This allows him to touch grass leave the house and experience his own life to the fullest. He's able to channel his desire to help society into a healthier outlet. Also, seeing her studying habits and plans for the future might even inspire him to do the same. (might.) He becomes the stereotypical good big brother, though of course he denies it viciously...

Our Little Family [Miles Wood] - Chapter 22- Miles Time !!

Author’s Note from 👢 anon: Hi guys, since it's b's off day. She was okay with me sending our little family. This chapter has a few surprises along the way. And yeah, there is smut, and you guys will understand why it's a must in this one. But I guess I'm a little too horny with the last few chapters of the series. Three more to go ! Enjoy !!!

During training camp, the Avs are buzzing. They have a different sense this season. The core is together for a while now, with little changes on the roster, and they're hungry. You and the other halves have a good feeling that something good will happen this season for them.

The night before the season starts, you write Miles a little note and tell him to put it somewhere safe. He can only open on the last game of the season, and he does so.

They struggle a little at the start of the season, but that doesn't change the feeling that you have.

As the season goes on, they start to roll, you know, Miles feels good with that. It makes you so happy seeing him do what he loves and doing well. The girls really enjoy watching their daddy play.

One afternoon, you guys went to visit Ross and Peyton to see their new baby. You decide to help Peyton with the baby, give her a little break- you know how hard it is. Miles talks to Ross the whole time, but you can feel his gaze on you. When you look at him, he's smiling at you with heart eyes.

You and Miles are in the car on your way to grab the girls from a playdate. You have a sense that Miles wants to say something, but he doesn’t, at least not until the car is parked. He looks at you, and you both smile.

“Are we going for the third one ?” You bite your bottom lip, nodding your head. “Yeah, I think so. Hopefully, I can give you a boy this time.” Miles brings your hand to kiss.

“It doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl. Another kid with you is the most magical thing.” You smile and lean to kiss him.

“Let's go get our girls. We can talk about this more later.” Miles nods and pecks your lips before you both move to climb out of the car.

The way the girls come running towards you guys makes you so damn happy. Lily goes to Miles and El to you. Then they switch because they need love from both parents.

They're so chatty in the backseat while you guys drive home. They're going to crash so hard when you get home.

….

Miles is having a solid playoffs run so far. You're loving watching him do what he loves. It's very hard on his body. You try to do everything you can to make this easier for him and his body.

The late night cuddles make the playoffs run a little easier. When Miles is home, he plays with the girls and being their father. They love it so much.

You hate seeing his body go through this, but they're getting better and better as the rounds pass.

The Avs get to the Stanley Cup Final, seeing them clinch the western conference makes you cry at home watching.

You know, in the next few days, it's going to be rough. Miles is seeing everything you're doing, and he's going to make it up to you. Win or lose he’s going to take care of his wife. You do everything you can to make his life easier.

With the Avs coming home with the chance to win it all. You and the other halves prepare a surprise for the boys. A letter and a few family pictures.

The whole Wood family is at the arena. The girls are wearing their daddy jerseys, and you're in your WAG playoff jacket. Today, you let both girls sleep a little more to be up for the game.

Since the moment the puck dropped, you felt that you couldn't breathe. Eyes glued on the ice and Miles, but always checking on the girls. The Avs let the first goal in, and you feel the arena deflate a little.

During the intermissions, the girls are fed, and you need to leave the suite to breathe a little. You're probably more nervous than Miles.

In the second, he doesn't score, but has an assist to tie the game. You breathe a little better now, Miles goes fully chaotic and draws a penalty that leads to a power play goal. The arena goes insane. Even the girls go crazy.

As the clock ticks down, the arena starts to feel anxious and build up. You look at Cheryl with eyes full of tears, like this is really happening.

Miles beats an offside to take as much time as possible from the clock. He doesn't shoot, just wasting time. Then, the final buzzer of the season goes off. Sticks, gloves, and helmets get thrown into the air as the Avs players move to hug each other.

Everybody in the suite hugs each other, so happy for the guys on the ice. You hug both of your daughters, saying to them that Daddy did it.

The players hug each other then go through the hand shake line. Then they stand at center ice for the presentations. First the Conn Smythe and then the cup. You film everything.

The cup is handed to Miles, you watch your man lift the cup and have the lap with the cup. The girls go crazy seeing their dad on the jumbotron.

An Avs employee comes to call all the families to head down to the ice. You stop by the ice entrance, but you can't get inside yet. The girls rush to the ice looking for their dad, Cheryl and Randy are right behind them.

Miles sees them smiling so hard, that man can't stop smiling. He scoops both girls as you squat watching the scene in front of you. He kisses the girls, hugging them so hard, then he hugs his parents, but he's not fully there. He asks Cheryl where you are, and she points to the entrance.

He puts the girls down before skating towards you. He lowers himself to be at eye level with you. He cleans the tears that are streaming down your cheeks.

“You did it !!!” Miles smiles again, shaking his head.

“No baby, we did it. Without you, this wasn't going to happen. This cup is yours too, it's going to be my name there, but yours is there too.”

Miles helps you get up before bringing you for a kiss. You lost yourself a little into the kiss before pulling back. The beard is not that good. You brush his cheek.

“I don't like you shaved, but this needs to go.” Miles laughs before skating with you back on the ice.

You guys take a few pictures with the cup, just the two of you, then Miles and the girls, Miles and his parents, then the whole family. Ross comes to say hi, you talk a little with Peyton.

The boys start going to the locker room to celebrate. Cheryl tells you to stay with Miles that they'll take the girls home and for you to have fun. Both girls are starting to get grumpy.

Miles says goodbye to the girls, saying that Daddy will be home soon. Miles kisses you one more time before he goes. You say goodbye to the girls and that you'll see them soon. The girls go home, and you follow the other halves to wait for the guys.

Miles drinks the champagne and smokes the cigars. He takes a step aside to grab the note you gave him. He opens and grins so hard.

“Congratulations, my Stanley Cup champion.” With the summer date. He almost cried. You really believed in him before he did.

While you guys wait for the boys, Mel gives everyone a task to look for places for them to go.

Miles comes out with his shirt, basically open. You laugh at your man. He comes and hugs you.

“Thank you, babe. You're the best.” He says a little drunk, resting on your forehead.

“I'm not the one that just won a big accomplishment, Woody.” Miles kisses you again as you make sure his shirt only has three buttons opened the way he likes.

You pull him close, feeling his abs. You nibble his bottom lip. Miles kisses your temple. He pulls you by the waist as you guys walk down the hall. He pins you against his car in the parking lot. “Babe, we'll have fun later. I want this, too, but you need to enjoy this first.” Miles groans, pouting, but he kisses you and nods.

You move to the driver side so you can drive. Miles smiles at you so damn in love and a little drunk. You guys go around with the players, Miles makes you drink from the cup.

He's so happy, and you basically just watch him have fun. It's almost 2 am. when you pull him outside to talk. You guys have changed places a few times already.

“Babe, I'm going home.” Miles doesn't understand at first, so he leans close to you. “What ???” You kiss his cheek.

“Babe, I'm going home. I'm very tired right now.” He pouts big time. “but…babe” You sigh

“Babe I'm up since 6 am, the girls were a lot during the day. I'm really tired and I want you to enjoy this moment with your teammates.” He's not a fan. He looks at you with glassy eyes. He can see that you're exhausted, but are keeping it together for him.

“Okay, but you're going to let me know when you get home right.” You smile softly, fixing his hair. “Yeah, I will, and maybe we can have some fun when you get home.” Miles smirks because that's what he wants.

“I love you so much sweetheart thank you for being a part of this and always believing me.” You brush his cheek, “I love you, and you don't have to thank me. This is yours. You did.”

Miles pulls you into a passionate kiss. “See you later, have fun. Love you.” He holds your hand. “I'll be home soon, love you.” You peck his lips one more time before moving to his car.

You get home, move to shower before going to give your girls kisses. You lay in bed with Lily for 10 minutes, and then you spend 10 minutes with El.

Now you can go to bed. It's insane to you that Miles is finally a Stanley Cup Champion. You cry because this was a long time coming, Miles thought that this was never going to happen, but it did it. You couldn't be more proud of him.

You sleep in and out, around 5 am you hear Miles coming in. You smile to yourself, you shift to sit against the headboard.

Miles opens smiles looking all silly, he's not that drunk right now. “I'm so so proud of you, babe.” He smiles, stripping his dress shirt on his way to you. You take a deep breath seeing the beating his body took.

He crawls into the bed, between your legs and rests his head on your chest. You play with his hair, Miles hums before lifting his face to look at you. “I love making you proud.” You brush his lips with your thumb with a soft smile. “You always make me proud, babe.”

You and El cuddle while she has her bottle, soft mornings like this make things worth. After El finishes her bottle, you take her upstairs. You leave a bottle of water and some meds for Miles, before going to see if Lily is up.

Lily is up waiting for you guys, she smiles at you as El giggles because she loves her big sister. Lily comes to hug your side, all the three Wood girls go downstairs for cuddles and food.

Cheryl joins you a couple minutes after you started to grab the food for breakfast. Lily wants to help and you let her. El is all smiley on her highchair while you and Cheryl work on breakfast.

Miles wakes up with a groan, when he starts to smell food and coffee. He checks the bed beside him and you're not there. He drinks the whole bottle of water before going to the bathroom. He needs to call his barber to take care of his beard. It feels like a dream that he won the cup.

He comes downstairs to join you guys, as soon as Lily sees him she's bolting to hug her dad. El goes crazy in her chair because she wants that too. You take her out of the chair and she runs as fast her little legs let her.

Miles hugs both of his girls and smile at you. You smile back as you move to prepare a mug of coffee for him. He sits with both girls on his lap just talking to them.

All the family is there, talking and eating. Miles is still waiting for the schedule, but the parade is tomorrow and it's going to be incredible to celebrate him.

The rest of the day is pretty chill, Miles leaves the house for his appointment, and when he's back, you're asleep. Cheryl told you to go to sleep, and she would look after the girls. You're very thankful for that.

Miles smiles at you as he leans to kiss you. You push him to go have fun. He helps Ross with the girls as you apologize to Peyton. She brushes you off because it's fine. The girls are having a blast.

By the end of the parade, you and the girls are exhausted. Lily is sleeping on you, and El is in her stroller during the team speech at City Hall. Cheryl is closer to El. By the time everything ends, you just want to crawl into bed and sleep for a lot of days.

After they finish everything, Miles comes to join you guys. He can't stop smiling. It's the most adorable thing ever. He kisses you as he picks Lily from you.

You drive the whole family home. Miles carries Lily to her room as you carry El. After both girls are in bed, you decide to take a quick shower.

Miles joins you, and he hugs you from behind, kissing your neck. You sigh. This is the most peaceful moment all day.

“Thank you.” You're a little confused and spin to look at Miles.

“For what ?” Miles peck your lips.

“For believing in me, last year we were in this same room, and you told me that my name is going to be on the cup, and now it’s there. I'm always going to be a Stanley Cup champion, but you're the real champion.” You hug him. You don't have words right now.

The girls come in, Lily holding El's hand so they get there at the same time. You smile at your girls, and they join you for a family hug. You pick up El and Miles picks Lily up for the hug.
