i know they’re literally the main character and villain (well one of them) but more people need to appreciate the writing behind yuuji and kenjaku

I think a lot about Leo standing up for his brothers in the things that really matter to them.
Like- Leo is the one who immediately pushes Mikey and Donnie into finding Raph the second it’s clear that their oldest brother is missing because he knows Raph can’t handle being separated like that.
Leo is the one who stands up for Mikey when Mikey wants to go on a solo mission, actively vouching for him and being the one to convince Raph into letting Mikey go, because being independent and proving himself just as capable of standing on his own two feet as everyone else means so much to Mikey.
And Leo defends Donnie’s honor in particular when his brothers’ intelligence is insulted because Leo is well aware of how important Donnie’s smarts are to him - and how important having those smarts valued and acknowledged is as well.
All this goes right into just how well Leo knows his brothers. For as much as he’ll tease or fight with them, he knows them, and he loves them.

It’s really interesting to me that— and spoilers for those who haven’t seen season 6—
Rayla tells Callum to choose the greater good, to sacrifice her instead of doing dark magic, but she’s never actually been in that position, so she literally doesn’t know how hard it’s going to be.
Like, Callum’s had to make the choice to save her life 3 times at this point. The first time he did Dark Magic when the dragon was chained, the second time when he followed her off the cliff, and the third time when he did dark magic again. Each time Callum was faced with losing her and came to the conclusion that he couldn’t do it, so made the choice to save her no matter what.
Rayla, on the other hand, has not yet been put in this position. She’s been put into the position of sacrifice, yes, but each time the only person in danger is her. She is the one who would die protecting the dragon. She is the one who would die taking out Viren. So when Callum tells her that he should let her die, it seems like just another sacrifice for her to make, not him.
In doing this she is unintentionally validating his motives and reciprocating them, because of how she argues against it. Unlike back in season 2 when he did dark magic, here she argues that it hurts him, that it leaves him vulnerable to what he is afraid of, and she would die to make sure he doesn’t have to do that. And while she doesn’t really pick up on this, Callum does, at least a little bit.
Because there is another time Rayla was faced with sacrificing Callum for the greater good and didn’t even consider doing it. She outright said no when he asked, but in her mind it doesn’t even cement as plausible. And that honestly makes it worse.
Because if she’s incapable of even considering the option of killing him when it’s just a hypothetical scenario, then she’s definitely going to break her promise when the time comes, just like he would.

My Poe/Lucy ((NOT a ship)) fusion because I love fusing these people TT ❤️💜
I envision this as a plot point w a fusion based ability - being used to strengthen abilities and completely baffle foes by forcing them to become entirely new people
So I used Lucy’s post-guild-fall outfit mostly and some of her og fit combined. The hair bandana is absolutely meant to mimic cat ears, they’re cat coded
I imagine their combined ability is Cask Of Amontillado inspired! Anne, the puppet, would look more like a jester -> like in the story. Combined with Poe’s world-making ability, Anne’s room becomes a massive labyrinth that traps its captors within the walls
Ideally, they’d be able to summon more than one Anne to chase people through the labyrinth.
She’s nervous and easily a bit agitated but above all very dedicated to his work and his loved ones
I imagine she jumps back n forth with pronouns
Also these two learning they’re both orphaned would be neat and they both have like tears in their clothes for some reason TT e.g. Lucy’s skirt and Poe’s suit jacket
Bonus Pre-Guild outfit combo sketch!!

i just feel like looking at precanon dynamics going ‘oh the main reason sam and john clash is because they’re sooooo similar’ is ignoring actual canon and implication in favour of taking a specific comment about a specific arc of sam’s that dean makes and running with it.
for one it’s missing all the context which is. this isn’t two random people who clash for unknown reasons, this is a father and the son he’s actively abusing and neglecting. sam has a right to be angry!! it’d be more concerning if he Wasnt angry (a la dean)!!
also just what we do see in canon is like. totally the opposite. john’s always hated the fact that sam’s different from him… that sam wants different things, doesn’t want to hunt, a different life…. DEAN’S the one who tries to be identical to his father. whether he succeeds is another story (i don’t think he’s innately very like john but i do think he leans into the same coping mechanisms and behavioural patterns, wholly for the worse!) but john seems to mostly believe him. even going by the journal which like. i know people don’t take as canon but i like it <3. john thinks dean’s practically a mini him (ofc he Isn’t but) and that sam reminds him of mary. 🤷♂️ ofc you can still see sam and john as being similar in some ways. i can certainly see it and i’m sure i’ve written it. kids r often like their parents. but 1 that’s not, like, the Secret Reason they’ve always fought so badly and 2 sam is like john sometimes but he’s also like mary who’s like dean who’s also still like john. and sam and dean are often like each other. i already went on about this in my last post so i’m repeating myself but. reject the false binary inside your head where a sibling like. picks a parent and grows up to identically be them.

i think part of why marc is so interesting from a rpf/general fandom perspective as a CHARACTER besides like idk, being the drama, is because yeah he’s a PR master and a frequent liar but he’s also like. so pathologically himself. spotty poker face. yapper. bad at little subtle social cues sometimes. intense. and he likes to be seen and known and understood! so even when he IS lying or doing blah blah pr speak, either there’s some layer of truth hidden near or inside the lie, his actions blatantly contradict said lie, or he will just straight up admit that he was lying later ! like he has to be himself he simply has to

something i’m just realizing about the “dick is damian’s parent” fics is that they often point out that after bruce came back, dick left for bludhaven immediately. but i just realized that’s not quite true.
bruce came back, and there were briefly two batmans (batmen?) at the same time. and then bruce left the country to go set up batman inc, for some weird reason, and dick stayed as batman to resolve some final issues. so yeah dick and damian kept being batman and robin for a good bit of time after bruce returned. do with that information what you will

Mothwing and Leafpool are such parallels
They both have outsider blood and in a way, a prominent parent. Moth is shamed for her kittypet side and then feared for her father’s. Leafpool is praised heavily for her father to the point her outsider half isn’t really acknowledged at all. They both are healers of course but they both have very interesting ideas about Starclan. Mothwing being atheist/a non follower and Leafpool who’s been lied to, hurt, and almost banished by the stars for just following them. They both have a pretty clear caretaker personality too. Everyone else before them. They’d give it all for those they love. And that’s come back to hurt them many times.
And. In the end neither of them get what they wanted. Their whole relationship is on being torn away and apart.

Been thinking about how Donnie and Leo’s insecurities juxtapose each other.
Donnie is insecure about his place in the family, but confident in who he is outside of it.
Leo is secure about being a part of the family, but thinks he’s nothing outside of it.
I think it’s a very interesting comparison that reflects their respective personalities, Donnie’s “Will all I have to offer be enough?” versus Leo’s “Do I even have anything else to offer?”

How do you think hurt/comfort noirpunk would go?
they deal with blegh days by distracting each other. crafts that require engagement like block print carving or making jewelry or other diy stuff, aimless conversation with the goal of making each other laugh.
bad days mean closing the blinds. less engaging activities like watching movies, sewing, lots of reassuring touch and just.. being there for each other. hobie strikes me as someone who prefers to talk—fuck suppressing your emotions until they rot—so he can air it all out, and it won’t fester inside him. he doesn’t like to be alone when he’s hurting, and loves staying in contact to help ground him. if he goes to make tea, noir will follow him and hold his hand as he goes about it. imo hobie is also more prone to crying; crying feels damn good, and noir’s sweater never minds the tears.
i think noir prefers to work through hurt internally, sitting with the emotion bc yknow, every emotion is part of living and just bc despair/anger/grief hurt doesn’t mean they’re Evil. he gets quiet, sometimes likes to be alone, but more often prefers to curl up with hobie, listening to him murmur reassurances (breathe, one step at a time, i will always be here, i love you), and stay like that until the world feels manageable again. he doesn’t cry often, but his voice does break, and he hides his face. usually in hobie’s hair or the crook of his neck. it helps remind him he’s not alone anymore.

What if we were both magic prodigies and it otherized us in different ways and we devoted ourselves to protecting a family member who has general other goals & priorities. What if we both did self-sacrifical devotion in opposite ways.
What if we were dark mirrors of each other and where I've grown
overcontrolling you've grown complacent. What if, bought as a servant into a pretty loving home, ownership and control is what love looks like to me, and to you neglected and lonely growing up, love is gratefully taking any scraps of it you’re lent.
By belonging to someone, even if she comes back injured or fails at finding Delgal, she feels like she belongs and is cherished, by owning someone he feels safe in them not leaving him.
She’s what’s tethering him do you see… And he’s the only thing giving her direction and purpose in her state. She needs a compass and he needs a support.
They’re both so out of it 😭 It’s the weirdly intense and unearned mutual trust and reliance on each other?? They’re each other’s weird little comfort codependent teddy bear. Or at least they were headed towards that before SHE DIED THEN HE DIED THEN THEY BOTH FORGOT ABOUT EACH OTHER AND NEVER MET EVER AGAIN. Though she’s also the guard attack hound keeping him safe… And vice versa he heals her and can rewrite her very being with just one wave of his hand. They’re both so so mentally and physically vulnerable both but they cling onto each other. They can’t perceive things accurately but despite it all someway somehow they stumble into something closer to resembling companionship just before they both die. Falin is just that kind and Thistle is just that lonely. Overworked.
We both haven’t lived for ourselves in a very long time, haven’t we.
They both have a similar devotion to the people they love but again the difference is that Thistle starts overtsepping while Falin is self-effacing. The other difference between them is that people care about Falin <3 People have given up on Thistle long ago, and he has given people reasons to, while people refuse to give up on Falin. Yaad has a mini arc about it dw about it it’s ok he’s not all alone in the end 😭😭 He reached out for Marcille’s hand but they already all wanted to help him, they just had to be given the chance to, Yaad just had to be given the chance to, it’s okay I’m okay
Hey what if we learned to get in touch with our own identity and the world around us and living in the present again through being in the worst codependent situationship ever.
Falin and Thistle sitting in a tree, sucking on flowers together because they’re h-u-n-g-r-y 💕💕💕
I bet he’s only ever thought of flowers as useless ornaments. Weak weeds. But she shows him they’re tasty and useful and good and pretty in their own right too and deserve existing without proving their worth and waaa <33 Thistles…... Did you know thistles taste sweet if you remove the thorns and eat them?
"Even as a chimera, her kind nature remains" you can’t suppress her in the way that matters. You can’t soothe him in the way that matters. It’s doomed. You’re doomed. It’s all doomed. Save me.

I finally finished yippieeee~ the template is by @amoexii (thank you!) ((updated?))
Riley is willing to break rules to keep his friends safe, gain an advantage or just for fun. He shows his affection through teasing and tends to be generally playful. Most of all Riley likes caring for his appearance and coordinating outfits together! Huge romantic at heart and unafraid to show affection platonically and romantically! He feels validated being able to express his love by being allowed to be affectionate. He DOES respect and understand boundaries of course!! If Riley notices the person is reserved and dislikes being touched, he shows affection in others ways like praises and gift giving. He’s a very passionate person! Riley is a very tricky person when it comes to his emotions. He is easily upset and quick to lose temper if he feels like he’s being mocked or humiliated. He holds grudges and he WILL let you know. Sneers, roll of eyes, sarcastic comments and nasty side eyes. Riley is actually quite a considerate person and tries to be patient but he is still young and immature. When Riley gets older he starts to slowly heal from past bad experiences and starts to be much more relaxed and less quick to anger. He feels his emotions intensely and it manifests in his magic control. When he loses control sometimes his spells won’t cast from lack of concentration or he accidentally casts destructive bursts of magic around him. Glass and objects flown around are typically at the scene after a really bad temper episode. But these are rare. Riley feels shame immediately after these. They were what started ‘the rumors and the whispers’ around him before he started attending hogwarts.
Slytherin traits(cunning, ambitious and a drive for success)-
Riley could have easily been placed in gryffindor due to his bold personality and decision making. But he best fit slytherin because of his unashamed ability to resort to manipulation and deception in order to get ahead of others or get what he wants. He’s aware of how important it is to make connections in order to get ahead in life. He keeps in mind everyone’s secrets that he discovers and information he gathers for future use(Just in case…). He’s not above blackmailing either. When he has his mind set on something he will see it to the end no matter how long it takes. He hates failing but he hates not taking initiative more. ‘What ifs’ and ‘but’ are things he tries actively to ignore.
