Hi! I loved your buddie x reader that you wrote and was wondering if you would be willing to write more? Maybe a protective buddie over reader? Thank you! 😊
Tumblr media
A/N: Hello, darling, I am so so sorry this took so long! I'm not familiar with Tumblr and took a short break. I wasn't exactly sure what to do with this, but I gave it my best go. If this wasn't what you wanted, feel free to message me again and I'd be glad to redo it for you! Enjoy! ❤️
Warnings: buck and eddie being protective, slight possessiveness, fluff, alcohol mention/consumption, eddie speaking spanish, mention of burns.
Summary: the ways your boys try to protect you
They always have to have some part of them touching you, whether it be an arm, a leg or even just holding your hand, it makes them (especially buck) know that you're still here and nothing bad has happened to you.
You didn't know what else you expected from your boys, but as soon as they parked the car. Your boys were opening the door for you, grabbing you hand and guiding you out of the car, one hand resting on the top of your head so you don't hit it on the top of the car. Buck's arm wrapping around your waist as Eddie holds the restaurant door open for you. You guys were going to meet the firefam for drinks, and of course, the boys being the clingy boys they are, they asked you to come because they can't go anywhere without their best girl. So here you are being ushered into the restaurant, Buck's large hand resting on your lower back as you three make your way to the table.
"You two are always so clingy." You tease. "Just wanna make sure you're safe cariña." Eddie smiles.
You're greeted by the team as you all sit down. "What can I get for you?" A waitress asks walking over to you guys. "Oh, um I'd just like a gin martini please." I smile at her. The drinks arrive and you being talking to Hen about med school. "So you must be so excited." You start and then you drop your phone from your lap straight onto the floor. You bend down to reach it and suddenly a large hand is on the edge of the table that your head was about to collide with. You smile softly up at Buck, grabbing onto the table for support to sit up. Instead you grab your glass and almost knock it off of the table, but of course, Eddie is there to catch your drink, and Buck you. "Thanks." You mumble sheepishly.
They won't let strain pasta or do anything with hot water
"Hey hey hey!" Buck exclaims rushing in from the living room. "Here, I got that." He says easily picking up the pot and pouring it into the awaiting colander in the sink. "I can do it myself, Buck!" You whine. "We know you can," Eddie comments, pecking your temple. "But we don't want to risk you getting hurt." "It's just water!" "Boiling water!" Buck interjects. "Yes, love, boiling water. We're trying to help, so let us." Eddie says with a final peck to your head before he's serving the pasta Buck set back on the stove, greeting Buck in the same way he greeted you.
The same goes for chopping anything, vegetables for dinner? forget it! fruit for a picnic? nope.
"Buck it's an apple. I'm fully capable of cutting it myself." You protest as he easily takes the knife from you. "Again. I have no doubt that you can. That doesn't mean I want you to. Too many people I care about have gotten hurt, I can't have that happen to you too." Buck says. "I seriously doubt any of them from cutting an apple." You mumble irritated by the situation. "Listen. I know you think that Buck and I are babying you, but we're just trying to make sure you don't get hurt." Eddie explains calmly. Stiffling a laugh at your grumpy expression and crossed arms. "We just care about you. And as Buck said, too many people we know have gotten hurt, ourselves included, so yes it's overkill, but it helps us know you're safe, okay?" "Okay." You smile.

I just saw Rafa’s interview where he said he would do a spin-off centered around Carlos. right , so imagine this.
In this spin-off instead of seeing the fire side of things like we have been, we get to see a bit more of the police side of things. We still see firefighters and paramedics but you know less. Kind of like how there are police at some scenes that the firefighters go to.
We get to see a bit more of Carlos out side of his relationship with TK. We meet some friends of his from the police force. Maybe meet his partner.
Of course some cute Tarlos storylines. Tarlos fluff. Maybe we see Carlos solving a tough case or trying to solve  rough case and TK helping him. Maybe we see Carlos go undercover for some case. We see him becoming a detective.
We could also get TK interacting with some people from Carlos’ line of work. Maybe the firefam becomes friends with some of them. We could even have a few more interactions with Athena. Like that has potential for a crossover. Like a manhunt for a criminal all over the country and we see Carlos and Athena teaming up nd solving the case. Maybe Carlos gets to meet the 118 this time and buck going “so your TK’s boyfriend”
Like there is so much potential. So many storylines could work. Like put my boy Carlos in the center

Happy holidays and happy 911 Gift Exchange to the lovely @julianbaashir ! I hope you enjoy this silly firefam fluff! And a huge thank you to @paranoidbean for setting this whole thing up!
And That's What You Missed At The 118
(firefam) (buddie) (1.4k words)
cabin pressure inspired firefam fluff with a little buddie for fun!
No one at the station is stupid enough to say the q-word. If someone was an idiot, though, it wouldn’t be an inaccurate way to describe the shift. They’re five hours in, and the single call they’ve gotten was for a malfunctioning smoke detector.
And Buck. Is. Bored.
And about to make it everyone’s problem.
He’s got a plan.
Step 1: Gather the team.
Chimney! How’s my favorite brother-in-law?” Buck asks cheerfully, dropping to the sofa.
“Depends,” Chimney says, raising an eyebrow and looking up from his book. “What are you about to ask me to do?”
Buck holds a hand to chest, mock affronted. “What have I ever asked you for anything?”
“I seem to remember a couch that was occupied for an exceptionally long time,” Chimney replies.
Buck waves his hand. “Aside from that.”
“Well–”
“Anyway!” Buck interrupts. “That’s not important. What is important is that you grab Hen and anyone else you can find and meet me in the kitchen in twenty.”
“Pretty sure Hen’s still drowning in paperwork, Buckaroo,” Chimney says.
“And that, my oh so handsome and intelligent brother-in-law, is why you’re going to be the one to get her.” Buck bounces up from the couch and grins.
“You know,” Chimney calls after him as he heads towards the stairs, “Maddie and I aren’t actually married.”
“Not yet!” Buck tosses brightly over his shoulder.
Step 2: Find an ally.
“Hey, Probie! Good to have you back on A-Shift!” Buck claps Ravi on the shoulder.
“Dude, I graduated like three months ago. I know you know my name,” Ravi says flatly.
Buck bites down on a grin. “Ravi,” he says imploringly, “I need your help.”
“Mm,” Ravi hums. “Nope!”
“C’mon,” Buck whines, “It’ll be fun! I just need you to distract everyone for like two minutes.”
Ravi pats him on his shoulder. “Should’ve started with ‘Ravi’ instead of ‘Probie’, then,” he shrugs.
“I said it was good to have you back!” Buck protests.
Ravi leans back in his chair and stretches. “Good to be back,” he grins. “Did I hear kitchen in twenty?”
“Yeah,” Buck grouses, “but it’d be more fun if you were in on it.”
“Nah, I’ll wait for the surprise,” Ravi deadpans.
Step 3: Find a different ally.
Eddie glances up from the journal he’s writing in before Buck gets a chance to say anything.
“Oh, I know that expression,” he says fondly. “What are we about to get up to?”
“See,” Buck says, not even trying to keep from smiling, “I knew there was a reason you’re my favorite.”
Eddie pushes away from the table and gives Buck his full attention. “About time you admitted it,” he says.
Buck feels himself go a little pink, but ignores it in favor of explaining The Plan. Which is really quite simple. And maybe less of a plan and more of a game. Anyway, it’s called–
“The Traveling Lemon,” Eddie interrupts with a grin. “I remember. You want me to distract everyone while you hide it?”
The urge to press a smacking kiss to Eddie’s lips in thanks for his brilliance is… surprisingly strong. Buck will deal with that some other time.
“Got it in one, I have no idea why I bothered with Ravi,” Buck says.
“Nobody’s got your back like I do,” Eddie says. It sounds like a joke, but damn if it isn’t true.
“Hell yeah,” Buck says, bumping Eddie’s fist.
Eddie nods at the door. “Go ahead, I’ll keep them all occupied.”
Step 4: Hide the lemon.
The game is simple. Hide a lemon in plain sight, and send the rest of the team looking for it. It’ll keep them occupied for an hour, at least, and Buck will get the satisfaction of making everyone’s day a little brighter. It’s the perfect plan, and it just needs the perfect hiding spot to go along with it.
Buck pulls the lemon he’d snagged from the kitchen out of his pocket and sets off to find the perfect place.
He steers clear of the loft, where he hears Eddie telling a story he’s heard before, one that Buck knows will give him almost six minutes exactly to hide the lemon.
The locker room is his first choice, but the glass walls (which, by the way, he’s been at the 118 for six years and he still doesn’t get that) rule it out. The bunk room is too obvious, and the team would catch him on the way to Hen’s temporary office. Which leaves one of the trucks, or the gym area.
Or something even better, Buck realizes as he glances up at the stairs. They’re open to the bottom, and the gap between the steps and the frame is just wide enough…
He stashes the lemon and jogs up to the kitchen.
“The lemon,” Buck announces dramatically, “Is in play.”
Half the team groans, but Buck knows his team well enough to know that competitiveness will get the best of all of them.
Step 5: Wait for someone to find the lemon, then return to Step 4.
Or, Buck thinks three minutes later when the station alarm sounds, accept that the EMS gods have it out for you.
“It was a good try, Buckaroo,” Hen says, patting him on the shoulder.
“Yeah,” Chim says with a friendly shove towards the engine. “We can pick it back up when we get back to the station.”
Ravi drops Buck’s helmet onto his head as they jump on the truck. “I’m almost sorry I didn’t agree to help in the first place,” he says, grinning. “I’m sure someone will find it when we get back, though.”
Buck drops into his seat next to Eddie and goes to remove the helmet.
Eddie grabs his wrist. “Careful, Buck, you already tempted the EMS gods once today,” he smirks.
“Oh come on, you don’t believe in the EMS gods,” Buck whines.
Eddie shrugs. “Fine, take it off, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
“Alright boys,” Hen calls from the front, “that’s enough banter. We’ve got a serious situation.”
The atmosphere in the truck immediately sobers.
“Cat up a tree on Sunset,” Hen deadpans.
The entire truck breaks out laughing, and doesn’t quiet until they reach the scene.
Step 6: Rescue a cat (that probably doesn’t actually need rescuing).
Ravi’s operating the ladder, Eddie’s climbing it, and that leaves Buck to comfort the distraught cat owner.
The young woman sniffs and rubs her eyes with her sleeve. “It’s just… Honky’s not supposed to go outside at all, but I thought he’d be fine in the backyard.”
“Don’t worry,” Buck says, “Eddie’s got him. He’s the best in the business.”
The woman looks up from her shoes. “I’m sorry for wasting your time,” she says quietly.
“Hey, no waste!” Buck says cheerfully. “We’re here to help, that’s what we do.”
“Thanks,” she says with a hesitant smile.
From the tree, Eddie calls down to them. “Got him! We’ll be on the ground in no time.”
The woman heaves a sigh of relief. She stares at Eddie for a moment before looking back at Buck. Or, actually, her eyes track a little above him.
“Can I ask you a question?” she says, suddenly far less hesitant.
“Sure,” Buck says with an easy grin.
“Do– uh, do firefighters usually have lemons taped to their helmets?”
Buck’s jaw drops.
“Told you someone would find it!” Ravi calls cheerfully from the truck.
Step 7: Find and delete every single picture taken during Step 6.
Within half an hour, Buck gets a text from Bobby.
Is this what you all get up to when I’m away?
The attached picture is of him in the truck, laughing, eyes glued to Eddie, with a lemon taped to the top of his helmet.
So, okay, maybe he needs a Step 8.
Step 8: Return the lemon to play.
“Nice job, Buckley,” Eddie says, leaning against the railing next to him.
“Not going to look for the lemon?” Buck asks, bumping his shoulder.
Eddie grins. “Oh I know exactly where it is. Top of the fridge, in the bowl of bananas.”
“Damn, Diaz,” Buck whistles, “You’ve got an eye for this game.”
“Nah,” Eddie says, “I just know you. Still bored?”
“Nope,” Buck says happily as Chimney darts past them, head on a swivel, only to run directly into Hen in the loft, “mission accomplished.”
Hen and Chimney both dissolve into giggles.
Eddie looks at him with that soft expression he always seems to be wearing these days. “Mission accomplished,” he agrees.

Curious to know about how long/how many chapters fwb buddie fic will be (how much good stuff are we getting fed???)
oh honey…you got a big storm comin’
as of now the afotalwcs has 17 chapters and nearly 88k words and im maybe a fourth of the way done (this is an extremely generous guess i have no clue what the end word count will be LMAO your guess is as good as mine)
but for the sake of curbing expectations, not ALL of it is dirty smut. there is a good part that is some fun firefam, buckley-diaz feels, and just general fluff and filler- you know the deal haha

If one was to write a fic for you 👀👀👀 what would you like to read? 👀👀👀
Well if one was to be gifted in such a way one would be very grateful and happy with whatever was written but as I know that’s not very helpful I will try to give some ideas(I am fairly easy to please I think 🤔)
Im a happy ending kinda spot, fluff makes me smile but I don’t mind some mild to moderate angst among the way
Smut is always an option if the story drifts that way
I adore those moments of tension just before a kiss or those little maybe almost moments that lead to an eventual first kiss… it’s a winner everytime
Au or cannon. Just buddie on their own or firefam feels love it all!
Im sorry my lovely and intriguing anon that is of very little help I’m sure
But Im pretty sure I’d be delighted with anything that someone took the time to write with me in mind 🥰😘🥰

Buck/Buddie Prompts
just some buddie prompts that have been floating around my head that i can't write myself :)
buck decides to finish his undergrad at a local uni, starts around the time of buck 1.0 decides to do gender studies, as he grows he really comes to enjoy it and implement his understanding in his lifestyle, preferably with some sweet emotional angst based on his adhd/the team undermining his intelligence and eddie being supportive and also drinking respecting juice
based on tell me you know by good kid, buck leaves after lawsuit + misunderstanding about the firefam's intention w/ keeping him away after the truck bombing, maybe has to deal with homelessness, after A LOT of therapy buck decides to write a fiction book heavily inspired by what happened to him and his perspective of it and his version of his love story with eddie(but wlw bcus yes), eddie picks it up when he rediscovers reading as a way to reconnect with himself, tries to find buck and resolve things, ends with lots of fluff and miscommunication clearups

I have no idea when this one will be done because I have been working on it for weeks and I keep thinking it is almost done and it never is. At this point that answer could be anywhere from tonight to a week from next Tuesday. You r guess is as good as mine. But! It will be done! And it is one of my last bthb squares, which is exciting!
-------
After TK got changed he made his way into the kitchen to find Paul, Mateo, Judd gathered around the counter. Paul seemed to be talking Mateo through whatever it was that he was cooking while Judd sat across from them with a mug of coffee and a grin. He slid onto the stool beside Judd with a nod to the older man as he watched his two friends at the stove.
“That’s enough flour,” Paul was telling Mateo who frowned at the pan in front of them.
“But I thought we wanted it to be thick?”
“We do,” Paul agreed patiently, “but that will happen with time as it cooks down. If you add too much now you’ll just end up with a floury sludge. You can always add more later if you need it.”
“What’s today’s lesson?” TK asked as he gratefully accepted the cup of coffee Judd handed him.
“Alfredo,” Paul said with a grin. “Probie asked for a good food to cook for a date, and who doesn’t love a good alfredo?”
“Oh?” TK asked, raising eyebrows in Mateo’s direction. “Is there someone you want to cook for? Have you been holding out on us, Probie?”
“No. It’s just good to know. You know, in case.”
TK glanced at Judd, “Does that sound like there might be someone to you?”
Judd grinned and was about to retort when Paul interrupted, “Leave him alone guys. Not all of us have been lucky enough to find our soulmates like you two. Some of us still need to play the game, which sometimes involves alfredo.”
Judd rolled his eyes but relented while TK cleared his throat.
“Speaking of Carlos,” he began, “he wanted me to remind you two to be careful.”
“Who, us?” Mateo asked in surprise as he gestured to himself and Paul. “Why?”
“Have you heard about all those kidnappings, Mateo?”
“Yeah,” he replied, expression puzzled.
“The victims are all…”
“Men in their twenties,” Paul finished, a look of grim understanding filling his expression.
“Yeah,” TK agreed. “He’s worried about you guys, so just keep an eye out for anything that looks weird.”
“What, not me?” Judd asked and TK threw him an unimpressed glance.
“Men in their twenties, Judd.”
“Are you saying no one would believe I’m in my twenties?” Judd demanded.
“Yes,” TK replied without hesitation.
Paul interrupted before Judd could reply, waving a placating hand at the older man.
“That’s all well and good,” he said, “and it’s not that we don’t appreciate it, but he does realize that describes him as well, right?”
“I reminded him,” TK assured him. “But honestly? I’m just worried about him in general.”
He looked down at the mug in his hands as the other three looked at him.
“What do you mean?” Judd asked in a tone full of concern, previous squabble instantly forgotten.
“He’s pushing himself so hard,” TK explained. “This case has been going on for months now, and over the past several weeks I feel like I’ve hardly seen him. Which sucks, yes. But I’m more concerned about the fact that we live together.”
“So if you’ve hardly seen him, he’s hardly been home,” Paul concluded.
TK nodded. “I understand why he’s so invested and I want to support him, I just don’t want him to push himself too far. And I don’t know how to tell him that without coming off as selfish.”
“It’s not selfish to want him to take care of himself,” Judd objected. “Carlos is a smart man, he’ll understand that. Besides, he loves you and he knows you love him. He’ll understand regardless.”
“I hope so,” TK replied. “But it’s hard to tell him to slow down when there is so much on the line.”
No one seemed to have a response to that so the group trailed off into silence until Paul glanced back down at the stove. He cursed and hit Mateo’s arm.
“You need to stir it, Probie! You’re not going to be winning any hearts with cement.”

911 Fanfic Masterlist
Cheeky little masterlist for you all! It's my AO3 Masterlist of Buddie/911 fics that are Buck angst/whump centred with a lot of feels and firefam fluff. These aren’t all of my favourites but these are damn sure at the top of the list!
Enjoy!!
Some Superhero (Some Fairytale Bliss) by fireladybuckley
http://archiveofourown.org/works/32496844.
Eddie Diaz has a secret. He is a firefighter by day, and a masked superhero by night. His boyfriend, a firefighter-in-training, has no idea of his secret identity. How long can Eddie keep up the game before Buck suspects what's really going on? (Buddie Bingo - Superhero AU)
A Friend Like Me by SadieYuki
http://archiveofourown.org/works/32729077.
When some of Buck's possessions begin to go missing, at first he assumes that Eddie is pulling an elaborate prank on him. After all, the alternative is something he really doesn't want to think about. Items disappearing from his work locker? Fine. Annoying, but fine. Items disappearing from his apartment? Less fine… Stalker AU
Be Gentle With Me by ashavahishta
http://archiveofourown.org/works/29211663.
Buck isn’t talking. They’ve been out of the factory for ten minutes, getting oxygen, checking in on one another. Bobby stands like a sentry at Buck’s side, tense, looking like he’ll take out anyone who tries to interfere with him. Eddie submits to the paramedics from the 132, lets them check his airways and the scrapes on his forearm. All along he watches Buck. He’s slumped on the back of the ambulance, staring ahead and seeing nothing. He isn’t talking. Isn’t moving.
Because I Love You by browney3dgirl6
http://archiveofourown.org/works/32245555.
After Buck's lawsuit, the team made it clear that they weren't going to forgive or forget anytime soon, especially Eddie. That all changed one day when Buck came running in, barely getting any words to form before passing out, right there in front of them.

“Buck?” He asked, voice scratchy with sleep. “Go back to sleep,” Buck said gently. His words seemed to have the opposite effect, however, and Eddie was soon sitting up, rubbing his eyes. “You’re sneaking out on me?”
Don't Wanna Lie, I've Been Relying On You by badboybellamy
http://archiveofourown.org/works/31856101.
A remaking of certain scenes from 9-1-1 to make them Buck/Eddie centered. Eddie realizes how much he's been relying on Buck. Now it's his turn to let Buck rely on him. Following the events of the Tsunami, Buck and Christopher's bond strengthens as they keep a shared secret from everyone in the 118 including Eddie. Eddie knows they have been through a lot but he needs to know what happened that day that was so horrible they wouldn't tell a single soul. It's eating him up inside just as much as it's eating Buck up. Will Christopher and Buck open up to Eddie about their shared trauma or will their little family fall apart?

Buck starts coughing up blood again and the team, understandably, is a little freaked out.
His Heart by Onelonely_tortillachip

Eddie turns to Buck and moves him away from the scuffle. “Are you okay?”
Buck’s eyes are wide. He is gripping something in his neck, and when he lets go, Eddie can see that it’s a hypodermic needle. It balances precariously from Buck’s neck like a macabre, clear plastic arrow.
“Fuck,” Eddie breathes.
“Sodium thiopental, asshole!” yells the man from the ground.

http://archiveofourown.org/works/31784458.
By the time he registers that there is now blood rolling down the side of his face, Buck is being pulled up by the gunman, the weapon jammed against the side of his head and an arm wrapping around his neck as they look up to the loft, where the team stands, frozen in shock. He'd hoped that they would've heard his warning and run, but clearly, they hadn't. (Or, post-lawsuit, two people decide that today is the day to threaten the 118 at gunpoint.)
Fragile Heart by islandgirl
http://archiveofourown.org/works/31778791.
“What’s wrong with your chest, Buck?”  Eddie’s eyes flick down to the way Buck’s fist is still digging into his chest with a desperate, rocking motion then up to where Bobby has shifted, hovering closer at the end of the couch. “Hurts,” Buck whispers around air that’s too thin.
I'll Cry If I Want To by 911knightly
http://archiveofourown.org/works/32314018.
Buck shook his head, "Eddie I was so insecure back then. I was secretly in love with you. I wanted the approval of everybody. And I thought I had it. And when I could feel all of you slipping out of my grasp...it just made everything feel so much worse than it was. That day when I returned to work...I was so excited. And then I realized nobody wanted me there-"
"I know I was an asshole to you but god did I want you there Buck, I promise," Eddie said, "you were always wanted, baby. I'm sorry I didn't always show you that." Or Buck mentions how disappointed he was when the team didn't throw a party for him when he returned to work after the lawsuit. Eddie does something about it.
Knit Together by dunn0man
http://archiveofourown.org/works/29338080.
After Maddie's revelation in 4x04 Buck starts to come undone.
He really shouldn’t have been surprised. The Buckley family was built on secrets, Buck had always known that. All the things Maddie and Buck had hidden from their parents as children for fear of punishment. All the things that happened after Maddie left college and were kept from her because they would be too upsetting or distracting. All the things that happened behind closed doors in the Kendall house. This had clearly just set the precedent.
Spoilers for 4x04!
Lost at Sea by browney3dgirl6

They never seemed to have good timing, only stolen moments and lingering touches. Eddie was hopelessly in love with his best friend, and he was tired of denying it -or- Buck and Eddie find their way to each other over the course of the events leading up to, and during the tsunami.
Miles From Okay by islandgirl
http://archiveofourown.org/works/32067232.
It takes a monumental amount of effort, but Buck’s able to move his arm, the one not pinned under his body and raging in agony. He slides it slowly across the floor in front of him as far as he can reach, fingers scrambling in the darkness in hopes of finding his missing partner.
“Eddie,” he moans to the shadows.
Waiting on the Next Storm by fireladybuckley
http://archiveofourown.org/works/31196372.
Eddie Diaz has spent months consumed with guilt and dreaming of the man he nearly killed in the fighting ring. He was at least under the impression that the incident was over and done with; however, when the man unexpectedly steps back into his life, demanding compensation for Eddie's actions, Eddie realizes he couldn't have been more wrong. Eddie watches in horror as his nightmare spirals out of control, unable to do anything to stop it.

Eddie blinked, groaning. His head was pounding a drum solo and everything was sore. The area around him was dim, golden-yellow lights mostly blown out, only a few still left flickering, and anything else was blocked by a giant metal cage. He tried to move, but something was tightened around his chest, and looking down revealed a slightly twisted seatbelt.
“Wha…” He groaned, blinking some more to try and clear the gunk from his eyes.

Eddie jolted as he heard the whistling rasp that was slipping out of Buck’s mouth.
“Hey,” Eddie said, his limbs feeling like they were moving through molasses as he fought himself onto the clearer side of waking up. “What’s—”
“I… Can’t…” Buck gasped before he swallowed audibly. “I’m having t-trouble… b-breath-ing.”

And then the truck jolted. There wasn’t enough time to grab onto something – it was all too sudden. The man Buck had saved from the car fell into the water with a shout and then he disappeared. Buck lunged forward in an attempt to grab at him, but he was too slow. Buck was left with his hand outstretched, reaching for the man he knew he would never see again. The ladder truck pitched sideways, smashed from the side by something with enough momentum to tip them into the churning water.

The only one who doesn’t shout is Buck, and in the split second it takes to realize that, he also realizes that the cart doesn’t topple over the edge like he expected it to. Instead, it jerks to a stop a few feet out of his reach, now hanging diagonally with the front right tire hanging over the edge as if anchored by something on the back left.
Sure enough, it is.
Buck finds himself going above and beyond to save two teens when their golf cart goes off the road. It’s really no big deal to anchor the thing before it slides over the edge of the cliff, but when it slides before they get the chance to anchor it? That’s an issue.

It was a hair thin trigger that had been switched the moment he caught sight of his boyfriend and the whole world could’ve stopped for all Eddie knew. Buck was staring down at his hands, breathing way too fast, and drowning in some kind of panic that only he could see.
“Eddie?” Carla called. “Is everything all right?”
Something must have shown on his face if she took the phone away from Christopher.

Eddie x Reader / Buck x Reader
Genre: Fluff, slight angst
Warnings: mentions of blood, the fire truck crash from season 2, basically injury, creepy perverts, being locked up (small mention of it)
Taglist: @enterprise-medical
It was a stormy night in LA as Buck navigated the firetruck back to the fire station. He had taken it out for a ride, with Bobby’s permission, after you had called his sister saying you were stuck in some creep’s apartment. Maddie had befriended you after you opened your café again despite usually closing half an hour ago. So Buck didn’t really expect that you would look so cute while cuddled up in his jacket, something he normally wouldn’t give it away, but you seemed so helpless and like you were freezing in just your underwear. Besides, he promised his sister that he would take care of you as he brought you back to the station, where she was going to pick you up.
Jumping out of the door, Buck closed the door as quietly as possible before shushing everyone in the firehouse and only getting your sleeping form out of the truck after everyone quieted down. Maddie watched as her baby brother carried her sleeping friend up the stairs, trying not to smile or squeal at how cute the scene was. She had tried to convince you repeatedly to go on a date with her brother, though you would always decline stating that hot firefighting fuckboys simply weren’t your type. But apparently “I-am-cute-lemme-lock-you-in-my-room” was your type or well at least seemed to be your type because this was not the first date that went horribly wrong that Maddie witnessed you having, usually having to find some way to bail you out. Although, it has never gotten this bad.
“Earth to Maddie,” Buck grumbled, waving his hand in front of Maddie’s face as he tried to get her to come back to them instead of being lost in her own little world. Shaking her head to regain her vision, she chuckled as you sat up to wave at her. “Looks like sleeping beauty is awake and waiting for their prince charming,” she teased you and wiggled her eyebrows while glancing in Buck’s direction, earning a groan and the bird from you. “I am never ever going to go on a date with anyone again. Nunca!!” You grumbled, hiding your face in a pillow as you did kind of feel bad for making someone steal a firetruck just because you were incapable of reading a person. “Qué pena.” Eddie stated, walking past you and sending you a wink when you look up in shock. “Habla Español?” You asked, not having expected it. “Sí.” Eddie nodded and send you a cheekish grin before handing you a bottle of water. “Do you feel a bit better? You seemed quite out of it when you arrived with Buck.” He continued, immediately checking your vitals and reactions to make sure that you were actually doing alright. “You get locked in an apartment by a creepy guy in his 40s and then tell me you wouldn’t be out of it.” You retorted, sticking your tongue out at Eddie causing him to poke your sides to see if you were ticklish. Squeaking, you jumped up and tried to run away from the firefighter, not wanting to get tickled. However, Eddie’s reflexes were a lot quicker than yours and he immediately started chasing you, quickly managing to catch you and pick you up.
The rest of the Firefam, including Maddie, just stood there watching you and Eddie. When Buck had brought you in, they had agreed that you seemed more of Buck’s type than Eddie’s as the older of the two was known to be the more serious one of the two. Yet somehow you managed to light him up in a completely new way, something they had never seen before and slowly they changed their minds on who’s type you really were. Even if Buck did not look pleased while watching you two, after all, he had “stolen” a firetruck and almost broken a window just to save you from some creep, yet instead of thanking him properly, you were playing and laughing with Eddie. “They are really cute together,” Hen stated, a smile playing on her lips though quickly putting on a stoic facial expression upon seeing Buck’s glare. “Well they are, though I still think she would suit you better, Buck.” Maddie whispered to her brother before ruffling his hair.
A few months have passed since you had met Eddie and to say that you two have gotten close would be an understatement. You had actually shared his bed with him on multiple occasions now after a long day with him and his son Chris, who you immediately adored after meeting the first time. At first, it took some time for Chris to warm up to you, however, now he seemed to always be attached to your hip whenever you were around. Sometimes, Buck would hang out with you three, though he would have a bitter expression on his face whenever no one was looking.
Right now, you were sitting on the couch in the firehouse when the news hit that the firetruck was crushing Buck’s leg and your heart froze watching the pained expression on Buck’s face. You tried to see as much as possible of the scene, scared that any of the other members of the firefam were injured but the camera simply did not have a good view. So without another thought, you grabbed your car keys and raced to the scene, terrified for Buck’s and the other’s fate.
When you arrived at the scene, they would not let you close as there was still a bomb threat. As soon as Bobby took care of the threat, a frown on your lips as you watched the young man who felt like he had lost everything, and the crowd ran to help lift the truck, you ran with it. However, instead of moving to lift the truck, you dropped on your knees right in front, cradling his face in your hands. “Hey beautiful, come here often?” Buck asked you, a small grin on his lips as you giggled, shaking your head a bit at the young firefighter. Always such a flirt, even in a situation where he could lose his leg and possibly never work in the job he loved ever again.
All throughout Buck’s recovery you stuck to his side, cooking him meals, and coming to all of his doctor meetings with him. You would be lying if you said that you two didn’t grow closer during that period of his life, even sharing a drunken kiss. He had initiated it after one too many beers and you just melted into it, not wanting to upset the already broken firefighter. Yet at the same time, it certainly had been one of the best kisses you have shared with someone. And you could now proudly say that your gaming skills have improved, while Buck’s baking skills improved as well, due to you dragging him along to your little café and allowing him to bake as many goods as you wanted. You even ate them willingly once they stopped coming out of the oven looking like a piece of charcoal.
Soon enough, he was cleared to go back to working as a firefighter and despite feeling slightly upset that you would no longer be spending your days with the sweet, smart and cunning young firefighter, you were happy to see the light return to his eyes. But then the party happened, he coughed up blood, because he was pushing himself too harshly and you had to watch the light fade again. After Bobby told him that he was clearly not ready to be in the field yet, you stood by Buck’s side as rage took over his whole being and he decided to sue the city and Bobby, leaving you to be stuck between a hard place and a rock.
Now you were standing in front of Buck and Eddie after they had a big fight and they were expecting to choose. Will you choose Buck and stick by him as he destroys all his relationships for his job? Or will you choose Eddie and leave Buck to fight this battle all alone?

debate time on this tuesday night because i need some fluff: who would propose? buck or eddie? or would they be one of those couples who accidentally do it at the same time?
because i have this hilarious idea of buck and eddie (separately) secretly getting the firefam to help them propose to the other, and inevitably, the firefam know about both plans but just roll with it anyway and help them coordinate it so it happens all at the same time

Prompt // Can I request Evan Buckley x reader where reader is pregnant and just general fluff with the firefam please?
Tumblr media
The day started out easily enough but once it reached mid-afternoon, peak nervousness hit.
You and Buck were dating for quite some time. The two of you were working out plans to move in together, and it was a headache. Not in a bad way, it was mostly in a ‘there’s too much to do’ type of way. You did not want to give up your place and Buck did not exactly want to give up his either, so there was a bit of back and forth over who was going to take the plunge and move.
Eventually, the two of you reached a nice agreement of finding a new place together, since that was fair and made both of you happy. Once the two of you decided on this new endeavor, Buck swept you up into his arms, carried you to the bedroom, and the two of you had a very fun night.
That was about a month ago.
You started to feel not-so-great after that. It reached a point where one night, you were boxing up some books and Buck was helping, and you felt sick. You had to take a break and your handsome boyfriend was right by your side. He rubbed your back as you sat down and that feeling did not go away for a while.
Once you started throwing up, Buck took you to the hospital. That was when you found out you were pregnant. The two of you were able to keep it quiet because you wanted to tell everyone at the station together.
Today was the day and your nerves were rattling.
Buck had the day off, which he requested specifically for this moment. He was holding your hand as the two of you walked into Station 118. The red trucks were glossy and shiny, the concrete floor looked well maintained, and it just felt inviting. It was a family firehouse. Everyone kept the place looking nice and welcoming, and your nerves were slowly easing up.
At least, until you saw Bobby and Eddie talking by the stairs.
“Hey Cap. Eddie,” Buck said as the two of you made your way over to the fire crew.
“Buck,” Bobby was pleasantly surprised to see one of his best firefighters strolling in on his day off, “what brings you here?”
“Y/N and I have something to share, actually. Can we get everyone?” Buck asked as he looked around. He didn’t see any of his other crewmates yet, but he knew they were around somewhere.
“If this is your way of saying you are moving or switching houses, I will kill you,” Eddie said so nonchalantly that you actually thought, for a split second, that he was serious.
Buck just laughed and shook his head. “No, nothing like that.”
“I’ll rally up the troops,” Bobby said with a smile. He disappeared, leaving you alone with Buck and Eddie.
Eddie and Buck had been best friends since the moment Eddie joined Station 118. You remembered, for a moment, when Buck told you the story. He thought there was going to be some jealousy and some competition with Eddie, but they instantly clicked and became fast friends. Since then, you and Buck hung out with Eddie and Christopher often outside the firehouse.
It did not take long for Bobby to return with the crew. Chim was there, with Maddie on his arm. Hen and Karen were also in attendance. It caught you by surprise since you were not expecting everyone.
“Is everything okay?” Maddie asked as she looked at her brother.
The fact that you both were there was different. Nerves seemed to be spreading their ugly head around the firehouse, since everyone looked different shades of worry.
Buck looked at you and extended out a hand, signaling that you should be the one to tell everyone. You inhaled deeply, smiling a little bit while you looked back and forth from everyone. The words left your mouth before your brain even had time to react.
“I’m pregnant.”
There was a look of surprised and shocked faces across Station 118. For a moment, you stood there, sort of awkwardly, wondering if your news was good news. Buck was still beaming proudly beside you, and you were slowly peeling your eyes off his fire family to look at him. The silence was deafening, borderlining on torture.
And yet it only lasted for a few seconds.
There were cheers and yells of congratulations. Bobby rushed to shake Buck’s hand and moved in to give you a pleasantly surprised but equally welcomed hug.
“Are you sure Buck is the father?” Chimney joked.
Maddie laughed and nodded while walking over to you and capturing you in a sweet hug. “Don’t listen to him. Congratulations.”
She let go of you and moved over to hug her brother.
There were congratulatory hugs from Hen, Eddie, and Karen that soon followed. Your arms were getting sore, the corners of your mouth were slightly aching from smiling, but you were not complaining. It felt so good. You felt included and overall, just genuinely happy.
“My wife is going to want to have both of you over soon for a get together. Be careful, she might try to steal your baby,” Hen whispered to you. Karen gasped and shoved Hen out of the way, shaking her head and you could not help but laugh.
If this was the environment that Baby Buck was going to grow up in, then this was going to be one lucky kid.
“I didn’t know the two of you were trying,” Chim said. A smile was slowly spreading on his lips. As much as Buck annoyed him somehow, it was obvious that Chimney was happy for the two of you.
Hen blinked and slowly turned toward Chim, a look of confusion plastered on her face. “Why in the world would you need to know that?”
“Buck and I tell each other everything,” Chim answered so quickly, his answer being made up on the spot.
Your head snapped in Buck’s direction, and you were desperately trying not to laugh as you played along. Your boyfriend, however, looked clueless. His eyes went back and forth from you to Chim and it took several seconds for him to realize what was happening. You were implying that Buck told Chim everything, like Chimney said.
“Wait, wait, wait. No. No, we do not tell each other everything,” Buck said, taking on the defensive as he looked at Chim.
The paramedic broke into a grin, giving Buck a firm nod. “Whatever you say, man.”
Buck turned to look at you and you just smiled. You pressed your body against him out of pure happiness and felt elated joy course through you when Buck slipped an arm around you and pulled you in close.
“Do you guys know if it’s a boy or a girl yet?” Maddie asked.
You shook your head and turned to look at her, your mouth slightly agape as you readied a response. Yet you were interrupted by a very dramatic—
“I hope it’s not a boy. Can you imagine a mini him walking around? One is enough,” Chim kept egging the two of you on with such antics, only this time, it backfired.
Hen, Karen, Eddie, and Bobby turned to look at Chim. From there, the words were flying out of their mouths and you had a hard time keeping track of who said what.
“What is wrong with boys?”
“Buck would make a great dad to a boy. Have you seen him with—”
“Denny?”
“Christopher?”
“Harry?”
“A mini Buck would be so much fun though. Think of the trouble both Bucks would get into.”
“It’s a known fact that boys are better than girls.”
“That doesn’t sound right but all we have to base that on is May so there’s—”
And it went like that, back and forth, among the members of Station 118. You and Buck just stood there, trying to follow the conversation but it was useless. Buck was lost a long time ago and you just gave up. However, you had to admit, it was kind of nice that the fire family cared so deeply about this.
Maddie was able to break away from the crew and grabbed you by the shoulders. Your eyes immediately snapped on hers and she was smiling so brightly, you could not help but smile in return. “If you need any help with anything, let me know. Howie won’t be invited,” she said, pushing you into her arms and squeezing you for another hug.
You hugged her back and nodded. It was times like these that made you realize just how lucky you were, and how lucky your child was going to be. Sure, you and Buck may get a hard time from some people, but the jest was part of the charm. If there’s one thing you know for sure, it’s that Station 118 is full of charm.

@zee-gee gave me a warm up prompt ages ago for hunger + character of my choice. It slipped through the cracks when I was doing all the warm ups but I found it in my docs today and realised it never got posted, so better late than never right? Enjoy 1300 words of spoiler free firefam fluff, ft. background Buddie 😊
**********
It’s a slow day—and not just because there aren’t many calls. It feels like everyone is moving through syrup, tacky and stilted. Bobby is sitting at the table by the railing, keeping half an eye on the crew moving around below as he sips coffee and fills out paperwork. Eddie is in the kitchen, making coffee, staring vacantly at the machine as it drips fresh coffee into the pot. Hen watches them both from her position at the dining table, medical textbooks and practice worksheets spread out around her. Buck and Chimney and the rest of the crew are all downstairs, checking and double checking inventory. Their voices, drifting up to the loft, sound more subdued than usual.
Hen taps her pen against the glossy pages of her anatomy book. It’s possible that everyone is just tired. She certainly is; it’s been that kind of week, long and draining. Their shift has been slow (not quiet; she doesn’t dare phrase it like that, even in the solitude of her own head). It makes Hen’s skin crawl, all the alertness of being on call having nowhere to go, nothing to burn off the energy that is so desperate to be released.
Buck was particularly bad about that, in the early days. The restless energy. The need to be constantly talking, moving, doing. Hen loves him, but in those first few months in particular he drove her up the wall—still does, sometimes, although these days the person he chooses to annoy is usually Eddie. Eddie is more practiced at it. A holdover form the military, Hen guesses, a strange ability to exist in that murky place between On and Off for as long as he needs to. It grates on you though, the constant hum beneath your skin, the constant prickle of heightened senses. When there is a clatter downstairs—something dropped; something metal—they all jump. Bobby is halfway out of his seat before it catches up to him. The three of them look at each other, trading weak chuckles.
Hen turns back to her textbook, tries to regain her focus, but she hears Bobby get up. He’s opening the fridge before he asks, “Anyone hungry?”
Bobby is always at his most comfortable in the kitchen. He likes cooking, shares his love through food, stress bakes when he can’t get his mind to quiet down enough to relax. He doesn’t bake so much at work, not with the possibility of a call interrupting at any time, but cooking—there is always cooking.
“What are we making?” Eddie asks. He looks more awake now, already reaching for a cutting board and knife, ready to help.
It’s hard to say whether it’s noise from the kitchen or the smell as Bobby starts frying onion in a pan, but it doesn’t take long for Buck to come up the stairs. He beelines for the kitchen, pushing in close to Eddie’s side—much closer, Hen notes, than is actually needed to figure out what is going on. Eddie shifts, somehow making room for Buck to crowd into his space without pulling away.
“If you’re here, you’re helping,” Bobby warns, and Buck just grins and picks up a wooden spoon.
“Can I stir?”
He’s already moving to do just that, eternally young in his enthusiasm. Hen smiles, looking at them. There’s only one person missing from the scene; and even as she looks around, Chimney is coming up to join her. He brandishes a pack of cards hopefully and Hen rolls her eyes.
“I’m studying,” she tells him, even as she collects her textbooks and practice tests into a neater pile to make room for him.
Chimney drops into the chair across from her, tipping the cards out of their pack and shuffling them with practised movements. “You’ve been studying all day,” he points out. “Sparing ten minutes for me to beat you at cards will do you some good.”
“Oh you think you’re going to beat me?”
In the kitchen, Eddie lets Buck steal a piece of carrot off the cutting board—probably not for the first time, from the way Bobby’s voice hits that particularly exasperated tone that means am I the only responsible adult around here? when says, “Some of that actually has to make it into the pan, you know. Do you want to be eating takeout for dinner?”
The quiet, syrupy stillness from before has been broken. It feels like coming up from being underwater, bursting into the open air and having the world unmute, sounds and colours and warmth rushing back in. Hen’s mind is still buzzing, anticipation humming beneath her skin; she knows for experience that isn’t going to stop until she showers the shift off and goes home. But it feels… less, cottoned under the warmth of her team filling the space around her.
“Do you think they realise?”
Chimney’s voice draws her out of her contemplation. He nods toward the kitchen, where Buck and Eddie have switched places, Buck chopping mushrooms while Eddie leans against the counter beside him, nodding along while Buck rambles about—cocoa beans? Hen feels like she has definitely missed a link (or ten) in the conversation there. As they watch, Buck passes the chopped mushrooms off to Bobby and as he turns, Eddie’s hand presses against his back. Deliberate. Grounding. Whatever he says is too quiet for more than the fond tone to reach them at the dining table, but it makes Buck smile, sweet and unrestrained.
The angle is wrong for Buck and Eddie, but just right for Hen to see the small, quiet smile that Bobby hides by turning to grab something from the fridge. He’s at the edge of the scene, there but not fully present in the way that Buck and Eddie exist together. It’s like watching a Venn diagram in motion; Bobby and BuckandEddie and the space where they overlap, neatly labelled family. If Hen stretched the diagram out, added a few more circles, she and Chimney would fit just as neatly there as well.
Chopping done, Buck reaches for Eddie’s coffee cup and Eddie slaps his hand away, shaking his head at Buck’s exaggerated pout. Undeterred, Buck wheedles his way in to try again. It’s hard to say what exactly Chimney means with that question—do they realise?—but Hen can take an educated guess.
“That they’re hopelessly in love with each other?”
“Nah.” Chimney shakes his head. They watch Eddie give up the cup of coffee with a fond eye roll and pull another mug down from the cupboard to make a new one. “I mean, do they realise it’s as obvious to everyone else as it is to them?”
There is nothing vacant about the way Eddie looks at the coffee machine now; nothing subdued about Buck. They look… comfortable. Settled. Happy. When Bobby shoos them out of the kitchen, they go together, falling into the couch as one, shoulder-to-shoulder even though it’s really not necessary with the space. Chim’s right; it’s obvious. Honestly, it’s been obvious for a while. Hen doesn’t know if they’ve actually done anything about it—she’s not sure she’d be able to tell if they had, just from the way they act at work—but it doesn’t really matter.
She smiles; shrugs. “I don’t think they care.”
The station smells amazing now, herbs and spices and something Hen doesn’t know how to explain except for that it feels like comfort. Chimney beats her at cards—twice—but Hen gets back at him by roping him into helping her study. Buck and Eddie migrate over, grabbing flashcards of their own to quiz her with, legs tangling beneath the table. Even Bobby joins them, taking a moment while the lasagne sits in the oven, all of them gathered around talking and laughing as the time stretches out between calls.
The slow days can be hard, but Hen would be lying if she said she didn’t also love them.

I Need More Hurt/Comfort Fics for 911, So Here Are Some Ideas
Kids of the 118 bonding: Support group or just fluff.
Some Buck and Maddie hurt/comfort (big sister Maddie is so underrated)
Bobby being a good stepdad to Harry and May.
Mrs. Lee taking care of Chim, Albert, Maddie or even Jee
Some post “Taking of Dispatch 911” recovery.
Athena comforting Bobby. Like, for any reason. Let this man have a hug.
Chim reflecting on his mom, specifically after Jee is born
Karen giving Hen a shoulder to cry on after a rough shift
More of Bobby giving Eddie advice after Shanon died
The Firefam going out of the way to make sure everyone’s okay after a difficult call
Just... I need more.

I’ve cleaned up the earlier chapters of my first ever fic a bit! Huge thanks to Mondy for the help with that. I’ll probably clean up more and update more chapters as time goes on, but I wanted to bring this back since I’ve just done that.
Also added the beautiful cover art by @ronordmann! Can be found here as well. I love it soooo much.

can you pretty please do fluff number 14 with the firefam finding out about buck and eddie?
They’re so cute when they’re asleep.
Read on ao3
It had been a rough day. They had lost two people on the last call. The truck was silent on the ride back to the station. Bobby took one look at his team before commanding everyone to the bunk room for some rest before the next call.
Hen and Chimney both obeyed the orders, while Buck ducked his head and walked up to the loft. Eddie sighed and followed the firefighter upstairs. Bobby, knowing that it was unlikely that Buck would get any sleep, just rolled his eyes and followed Hen and Chim into the bunk room.
Bobby was awoken half an hour later by his phone buzzing with the alarm he set prior to falling asleep. Quickly silencing his phone as to not wake the others, Bobby pulled himself out of the bunk and walked slowly up the steps with the intent of starting dinner for the team.
When he came to the couches what he saw was not something completely unexpected. Eddie was lying on his back on the couch, his head supported by a soft pillow. Lying across his chest was Buck, his head resting under Eddie’s collarbone, their legs tangled together. Eddie had his arms wrapped protectively around Buck and on Buck’s cheeks Bobby could see dried up tear tracks.
He smiles to himself, Eddie actually got Buck to sleep. With a fond smirk, he draped a blanket over the pair and walked into the kitchen. About fifteen minutes later, Hen and Chimney arrived, still wiping sleep from their eyes. Hen got the same knowing look on her face that Bobby had when she spots the two boys curled up together on the couch.
“They’re cute when they’re asleep,” Bobby heard Hen whisper to Chim as they walked in.
Chimney laughed, “Don’t let Buck hear you say that, his ego is big enough.”
“So...” Hen leaned on the counter as Bobby threw chopped up vegetables into a pan. “They’re definitely together, right?”
Bobby threw his hands up as if to say ‘that’s not my business’.
“Come on!” Chimney said, “You’re not even a little bit curious about what’s going on with them.”
“I don’t make my co-worker’s private lives my business,” Bobby said, knowing the words were false. Judging by the looks Chim and Hen gave him, they knew it too.
“Buck is practically your son,” Hen countered. “We’re your family, Cap, whether you like it or not. But we all know you like it.” Bobby pretended to roll his eyes. “So, what’s the deal with them?” Hen asked again.
Bobby looked at her straight, “I don’t know. Why don’t you ask them?”
“Oh I plan to,” Hen laughed, stealing a carrot from Bobby’s cutting board.
Once the food was done and the places were set for dinner, Bobby walked over and gently shook Eddie’s shoulder to wake him up.
Eddie groaned softly before blinking his eyes open, “Cap?”
“Dinner’s ready,” Bobby told him. He gestured to Buck, “Get him up and come to the table.”
“Okay,” Eddie agreed, his voice thick with sleep. As Bobby walked away from the couch he could hear Buck’s soft waking up noises and he pretended to not hear the endearing nicknames Eddie called the younger man as he persuaded him to wake up.
At dinner, Bobby conversed with Chim and Hen, all three of them, flicking to glance at Eddie and Buck once in a while. Buck was leaning on Eddie as if he was the only thing keeping him upright, and honestly, he probably was. It was hard not to notice the soft looks they kept giving each other.
Finally, Hen decided enough was enough, “What’s the deal with you two?” She gestured with her fork at the pair.
Eddie cleared his throat, “What are you talking about?”
Hen lifted an eyebrow, “Are you two together?”
“I don’t know what-” Eddied tried to say, but Buck put a hand on his arm.
“Yeah,” Buck told Hen. “We’re together.” He linked his hand with Eddie who was watching the blond with a lovestruck gaze. “We have been for a few weeks now.”
Bobby smiled at them, “I’m happy for you both and I expect the HR forms on my desk by next week.” The five of them laughed, Buck leaning into Eddie’s shoulder.
“You two are good for each other,” Hen told them with a smile.
“We think so too,” Eddie looked down at Buck and kisses his cheek.

911 & Buddie Fic Rec
I’ve been reading a lot of fics lately as I pretend that nothing is happening in the world, and so I’ve put up a list of a few that have stuck with me.
Don’t forget to leave them a comment! They’re all amazing and they deserve it.
Let’s spread some positivity around here!
In no particular order
Knocking On Heaven’s Door by MomentsOfWeakness
Summary: Buck isn’t sure where he is. The last thing he remembers was being out on a call. Now he’s here, in a place he has never seen before surrounded by people he doesn't know. It's bright. That's all he can really tell.
Based on a Tumblr prompt where someone asked for Buck and Chris both ending up in purgatory at the same time before they ever met in life. Buck has a ticket back to the living world but he gives it to Chris who is supposed to die. An old man, seeing what Buck did for Chris, decides to give his own ticket for the living world to Buck, because the world needs more people like him.
Personal opinion: This is just so good. It’s so well-written it almost reads like poetry.
Eddie Diaz and the Cat-astrophe at the 118 by SquaresAreNotCircles
Summary: It’s Chimney who rescues her from the tree, but it’s Bobby’s arms that she curls up in on the drive over to the vet to get her checked out. Right from the start, it’s as if she knows who she needs to cozy up with to secure her spot at the station.
“Come on, that’s crazy,” Buck says, but he does so while laughing not at Eddie, but at the grey tabby cat trying to get her claws on the fake mouse on a string that Buck bought with his own money, so Eddie doesn’t put too much stock in his opinion.
Or: The firefam adopts a mascot and Eddie has a minor crisis about it.
Personal opinion: This is just too sweet and too funny!!
Whatever you say, Buck by nanasteiger
Summary: Tumblr prompt: I'd love to see a fic where they start dating but decide to keep it private for a bit, except literally everybody knows because they're not secretive at all and everybody catches them here and there kissing or being affectionate with each other.
The first one to talk about it was, and it wasn’t really a surprise, Captain Nash. “So,” he said, approaching him in the locker room, “what’s going on between you and Diaz?”
Personal opinion: The softness... unparalleled.
Love Language by red_to_black
Summary: The one in which there's too much pollen around, Eddie pines, and Buck is oblivious.
Or - Eddie's love language is acts of service, and Buck doesn't totally get it.
Personal opinion: I have melted... too good!!
a leaf falls on loneliness by iimpossible_things
Summary: Buck doesn’t think that if he were to say, “I’m in a bad place”, that anyone would turn him away. Really, he doesn’t. The 118 has too many good, kind people for that.
But every time he wants to open his mouth, to say something, to reach out to Eddie or Bobby or Hen or Chim, he hears Eddie yelling, “you’re exhausting.”
—you’re exhausting, you’re exhausting, you’re exhausting—
So each day he does his job and he laughs and he jokes and he pretends he’s the care-free goofball he’s always been. And each day he packs away his bruises and his worries, takes them home to his empty loft with its quiet rooms, and licks his wounds in silence.
Personal opinion: Y’all. Just - do yourself a favor and read this. A masterpiece!! Just *chefs kiss*
dying lol by itsmylifekay
Summary: Based on the meme: i'm dying lol
Buck is...Buck. And that means chaos, angst, laughs, and pining over Eddie. Bobby just wants his son to stop ending up in the hospital. Enjoy.
Personal opinion: I have no words to say how much I love this
i want your heart (i hope you do too) by chocobos
Summary: Buck can’t stop thinking about those words, about the way Eddie had said them, eyes open wide and earnest, hand searing a hole into his shoulder, never once breaking contact with him in any regard.
Personal opinion: One of my favorite fics in this fandom
Roll Down This Unfamiliar Road by altschmerzes
Summary: The big 'welcome to the family, sorry I tried to shut you out of it' dinner at Eddie's winds down, and Chimney decides it's time for him - and Albert - to go home. But, as he stands there and looks at his kid brother, half dozing off sitting at Eddie's dining room table, Chimney finds himself frozen, plagued by sudden doubt. What if he's not cut out for this?
It's Buck, of all people, who's there with an answer.
Personal opinion: This is a Chimney-centric fic and it’s an absolutely gorgeous piece.
a diary highlighting dysfunction (adhd) by @evaneddie
Summary: adhd!buck - headcanons into loosely linked one shots
Personal opinion: I’ve just reread just now and wow... still amazing... chefs kiss
I still don’t know my heart by attolians @getbvcked
Summary: I am SEVERELY late for Evan Buckley Week so I rolled these prompts into one fic! • March 23rd - Day 1: “That’s my family.” + fluff • March 24th - Day 2: “Why are you naked?” + fun • March 25th - Day 3: “Please don’t close your eyes!” + hurt • March 26th - Day 4: “You want to marry me?” + love • March 27th - Day 5: “You’re a good liar.” + comfort • March 28th - Day 6: “I won’t let you do this.” + angst
Personal opinion: As I said before, we’re here living in 2020 while Amber’s living in 3020... The genius *chefs kiss*
(hurt) thy neighbor by autumnchills
Summary: “He’s armed,” is all he says into the phone before standing from his spot. He shoves his phone into his pocket and steps out, hands raised. Sure enough, the man has a gun pointed at him, but if he looks closely enough… Buck squints. Color him surprised. “Is that you—” “Don’t!” The man yells, jerking his hand with the gun aggressively. “Don’t you dare fucking say my name, Buckley.”
— In which things get bad fast when Buck's neighbor breaks into his apartment thinking that he isn't home.
Personal opinion: You need to read all of autumnchills’ work actually because guess what... chefs kiss!!!
(There’s) No Time Like The Present by NobodyKnows_U
Summary: "Marry me."
The words flew out of his mouth before he could fully comprehend what he was doing. It came out as a shaken whisper, but everything around seemed to go hopelessly silent. He's pretty sure he heard a few choked gasps but all he could focus on was Buck.
Or, Buck nearly dies saving a baby during a call and Eddie ends up asking Buck to marry him.
Personal opinion: I cried, this is just gorgeous.
5-4-3-2-1 by elisela
Summary: For all the times that Eddie has practiced getting into his turnout suit in record time, he never bothered figuring out how to get out of it just as fast. He would be regretting that if he could think about anything other than the fact that Buck went over the pier rail twenty-six seconds ago, and disappeared into the dark water seventeen seconds ago.
Personal opinion: The intensity... The talent... I’m speechless.
what a man gotta do? (to be your last good night and your first good day) by diazevan
Summary: He is gonna woo Eddie. He is gonna woo him so fucking hard that the other man has no other choice but to be his boyfriend and declare his eternal love for him. Buck is gonna be that good.
or
Buck is the best boyfriend and he doesn't even know it.
Personal opinion: Soft!! Cute!! I’m !!!!!!
Won’t Be Lost Forever by @lionheartedghost
Summary: “Bobby said you wouldn’t talk to him last time he came in.” The chair by the side of the bed scraped back against the linoleum. “You want to tell me what’s going on?” Buck opened his eyes. Eddie looked patiently back at him, passing a hospital canteen cup of coffee back and forth between his hands. “I won’t let you do this,” Eddie said when he didn’t answer, setting the paper cup on the little table beside him. “I won’t let you shut us out.”
Eddie helps Buck with his recovery following the ladder truck incident.Written for Evan Buckley Week, Day 6: "“I won’t let you do this.” + angst
Personal opinion: I’m overwhelmed by so much perfection what the hell
I also want to give a shout-out to @eddiedeaz because her fics for the Evan Buckley Week were, you guessed it, *chefs kiss*
