The first trial of AA4 is so special (and hilarious) to me because of how much a blatant fanboy Apollo is towards Wright.

He can’t talk to him without stuttering or keeping his admiration of the man in check,

and even his attitude in the trial can be boiled down to: “If Mr. Wright said it, then it must be true!” which is so cringe of him, I love it.

Case in point: Apollo uses Wright’s 7-year-long win streak that no one can verify as evidence that Zak must have lost their game of poker,

and then does the same thing again when Mr. Wright is the only one to suggest that there was a fourth person on the scene.

He really was a fanboy first and a lawyer second in this trial. No wonder Kristoph lost.

Apollo Justice relationship timeline headcanons

unofficially together with Clay since middle school, started officially calling what they were doing dating partway through high school-- having an open/informal relationship

several months into Apollo's internship with Kristoph, Kristoph starts flirting with him, and eventually things turn romantic and datey.

after Kristoph is convicted for the second time, Klavier and Apollo end up awkwardly in each other's orbits and start casually dating/start an NSA relationship

Apollo and Phoenix have some awkward on-again, off again flirtations and interactions that don't count as a relationship

after Clay's death, Apollo becomes more clingy to Klavier sometimes, but not any more emotionally intimate

Athena and Apollo go on a few casual dates

after moving to Khura'in, Apollo confesses his feelings for Nahyuta and they start dating, Apollo's communication with Klavier falls off.

Nahyuta is already dating Ema, so Apollo ends up dating Ema as well.

several months after Apollo disappears to Khura'in, Klavier gets on a plane like a movie romance hero to try to get Apollo back and bring him back to LA.

After Klavier successfully brings Apollo (and Nahyuta) back to LA, Apollo opens up more emotionally with Klavier.

Apollo and Aura Blackquill start casually dating.

Once Apollo starts working in the prosecutor's office, he ends up getting entangled in an office rivalry/romance with Simon

I’m playing through AA4’s final case again, and I realized something important:

Some time after Day 1 but before Day 2 of Vera’s trial, Wright pulls Apollo aside… and talks to him. A proper talk this time — no more hiding behind half-truths and half-hearted jokes. He tells Apollo everything.

A big event summed up in a single line (booo), but a line rich in implication, either way.

Because how did Apollo feel, sitting there and listening, as the man he believed in for seven years — a man he insisted was innocent, both in and out of court, only to seemingly be proven wrong; his idol was a fraud and worse, roped Apollo into being one, too —

finally lets him peek at the real Phoenix Wright?

A man so damaged, he’ll fight in whatever way he can (forgery and proxy wars included) to unravel the mystery that ruined his career; bitter from his drink of fraudulent defeat.

I can only imagine Apollo feels bitter himself over the confession at first — asking “why didn’t you let me know sooner?” — before a wave of relief, maybe even sweet vindication, hits him.

Because the truth of that infamous case was something he was saying all along: Phoenix Wright was never a fraud. (But he is an asshole).

I love all three (Krispollo, Justwright and Krispollonix), too, haha. What made you ship them?

I love unbalanced power dynamics, especially dark ones. Both Kristoph and Phoenix are older than Apollo, and also veteran lawyers, so whether he's with one of them or both of them, it's still mentor/mentee.

What we know of Kristoph's personality, it's very controlled, calculated, he wants things done his way. Apollo at this point in his life is naive and bright-eyed about becoming a lawyer, and I just love the idea of Kristoph treating him and kicking him like a dog. We know Kristoph is a dog person, after all.~

Kristoph would be the type to gaslight Apollo any time he abuses him. After all, he's got such a high reputation and the justice system in his pocket, and he's so intelligent and articulate, it would be pretty difficult for Apollo to make a case of any kind against him prior to the events of the game. This may or may not lead to idolization in a relationship that develops with Apollo viewing Phoenix as his savior if we're following canon's timeline.

And who couldn't love Apollo's fanboy crush he's had on Phoenix since his teens? Phoenix would be downright flattered if Apollo ever admitted the full extent of it. Phoenix's personality is warm and caring, in contrast to Kristoph's, it's paternal. It could be daddy kink depending on preferences, but it could also just be an age gap that two adults have consented to. Phoenix would be way more respectful of Apollo's boundaries and helping him learn when and how to say no.

The idea of the three of them coexisting somehow harmoniously is difficult to imagine within the canon context. ( Which, I'm totally open to AUs, but I'm talking based on their canon personalities. )

Kristoph and Phoenix have the type of relationship with each other that screams spiteful hate-fuck buddies at best. So the idea of them sharing Apollo or committing to each other in any form seems unlikely.

But I do love the prospect of Apollo being fought over by them, or even the idea of an AU of Phoenix trying to save Apollo from Kristoph, maybe with Phoenix giving himself to Kristoph instead? Stuff like that.
