HOW DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN CHARACTERS COMFORT THEIR S/O DURING A BAD TIME.
Connor
Tumblr media
• definition of baby.boi.
• he doesn't know how to help, he genuinely wants to, but has difficulties.
• 《is everything all right, Y/N?》.
• you, of course, want just someone to listen and to help you. So you spill everything that's on your mind.
• he is processing everything, his led turning blue, yellow, blue, red.
• after elaborating all the informations, he'll do his best, starting with affectionate hugs, rubbing tenderly you hands... also, he'll make a speech about how to help you with your problems, giving suggestions, then proceeds to comfort you with sweet words.
• he'll do little acts of care, like cooking your fav meal, brining a hot chocolate/tea/chamomile to help your stress relief, a warm sheet.
• 《I cannot understand human emotions so easily, but I will do everything to make you feel as you deserve》.
• I love him.(⊃。•́‿•̀。)⊃
Gavin Reed
Tumblr media
• oh, this man here.
• Gavin is a tsundere.
• but that doesn't mean he won't underestimate your problem.
• 《tsk, just tell me what's on your mind now and which prick I need to beat to dead.. please》.
• after telling him your problem, he won't mind if you want to hug him. Yeah, he can be a bitch sometimes, but he still has a heart.
• Gavin will probably go to a face-to-face with the one who hurt you (which means they'll get.. a few broken ribs and a bleeding nose).
• if no one hurt you, he'll be silent and give here and there some comforting words, accompanied by his cats that will purr in your lap. He's trying his best, forgive him. T_T
Hank Anderson
Tumblr media
• similar to Gavin, but more soft.
• he probably will make Sumo cuddle you and lick your face until you're having the tiniest smile.
• 《Sumo, attack!》
• because if you smile, he smiles.
• 《kiddo, everything is gonna be alright. Trust me. Things are gonna change for sure》 he says, rubbing your hair lovingly.
• probably puts a movie with a bowl of popcorn to distract you from your thoughts.
• it kinda works, and you appreciate how he's trying to make you feel better.
Kara
Tumblr media
• she knows you're battling with something. The problem is, what?
• but when you're on the verge on tears, she understands.
• 《Hey, hey, what's wrong? Let it all out, it's okay, Y/N, it's okay...》
• purest.angel.ever.
• she's gonna give you the best hug ever. When you're done crying and you are a little more calm, Kara listens to everything that's bothering you.
• 《Hey, let me tell you this..》
• Kara is optimistic, so she'll make sure you see the light that's going to come really soon, while rubbing your back.
• 《I know you're strong, you can do it! I believe in you!》
Markus
Tumblr media
He knows what's going on, since you've been acting strange lately.
"This isn't surely Y/N's behaviour. Perhaps it's better I talk to them"
And when he finally does, you spill everything that's on your mind. You don't want to bother him with all your stuff, but he doesn't care. He's there to make sure you ok, by giving you a hug or rubbing your hand
Idk everyone, I kinda guess he'll do that, I'm not so good writing for Markus.😭😭

Okay, so I made a poll on whether Aiden Acharya was a book bf and this is because see him getting a lot of hate. And I have no idea why????? There's even a video (albeit a small mention) calling him annoying???? Also I see him tend to get antagonized in a bunch of fics.
There are only a few reasons I could think of as to why and those do not really make sense in my opinion:
He was distant with Aru of CoG - okay but dude literally has so much trauma when it comes to love. His parents got divorced because of it and his father hurt his mother sm because of it. Now obviously when he used the key in ToW he realised he was in love with her. And no duh he'd want to put some distance between them so that she wouldn't hurt him because of it AND HE WOULDN'T HURT HER
The Kara shenanigans - please Aiden was being polite he literally acted the same as with Mini and Brynne, like Kara was feeling left out, that much was obvious, so Wifey was the better man and helped her feel included. BECAUSE HE IS NICE. The "romance" between them was all Kara's delusions and Aru's unreliable narrating for fucks sake she once thought Brynne and Aiden once had feelings for each other because she always thinks lowly of her.
The time skip - HE WAS JUST TOLD HE WAS GOING TO DIE BECAUSE OF ARU HE IS LITERALLY ONLY 15/16 A MERE FUCKING CHILD YOU THINK HE'S JUST GONNA LA DEE DA HIS WAY THROUGH LIFE AND PRETEND NOTHING IS WRONG????? THAT IS SO FUCKED UP FOR HIS MENTALITY OF COURSE HE WOULD TRY TO AVOID HIS FATE ISTFG-
The rejection at the start of NoI - honestly pretty sure he just word-vomited like Aru in EoT he didn't get to complete what he was saying so he couldn't explain himself properly and after he kissed Aru, he probably realized his fate was sealed and he was on the verge of dying, yes he'd do everything he could to avoid it even if it means lying and taking back everything because he does not want to die has anyone realized how scary dying is??? Like he's probably terrified because god fucking dammit he's gonna die he does not want his life to end he doesn't want to leave his friends or family. It's a kids book so it's not really shown properly how awful and miserable and so fucking scary it is to be told: "you're gonna die."
The rest of NoI - literally the exact same reasoning any moment in this quest he will stop breathing and no one knows Aiden's POV, so he was probably having so many panic attacks and crying and screaming himself hoarse because he really, really doesn't want to die he doesn't want to abandon his mom, being the person Malini found worth living for. He didn't want to leave Rudy, his blood family that didn't abandon him. He didn't want to say good bye to Brynne, his best friend, nor to the other Potatoes. He didn't want to spend less than 9 days with Aru before seeing her for the last time.
I'm probably gonna get so much hate for this but I'm tired of seeing how badly Aiden is treated and I adore him and honestly he was absolutely in the right to cut off Aru, though I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, but he was allowed to do it.
Because. He. Does. Not. Want. His. Heart. Broken.
He. Did. Not. Want. To. Die.

May I rant about the season 3 finale of MFS?
No? I’ll still do it anyway. This took me awhile. Had to get my thoughts organised, because my brain is just itching to begin rambling. There’s too many to say, and I’ll probably miss some stuff.
Disclaimer: I still love the show with all my heart. It brought me Raylla and the beautiful friendship that is the unit. And I know, I know… they’re rushing with this season and trying to wrap it all up. I’m familiar with this excuse. But seriously? Still left so many questions.
So here I go… my rant list:
Tumblr media
1) Anacostia’s death.
Was it really necessary? It’s so sudden. And seriously, if you’re gonna kill her off, at least do it in a more honourable way! Crushed by a fuckin’ truck?? Really? All that power and badassery—reduced to this incredibly mundane death? I am so upset. They didn’t need to follow other shows formula in killing off characters for shock value.
First off, they ‘kill’ Izadora… then bring her back so she can set off Penelope on Hearst and Silver—meaning, the death was unnecessary. And now, Anacostia… my heart is broken. Why can’t she be revived, too, then? At least, bring her back like Alder…get her to say her goodbyes. That eulogy was lackluster—they moved on so quick, like c’mon. It’s so stupid.
Tumblr media
2) Scylla as a side character.
I hate that Scylla got reduced to that in this last episode. From necro ex-Spree agent, she’s just there… a love interest of the main character. You could have written Scylla off this finale, and it wouldn’t matter… because she didn’t add to anything. She was an accessory to the unit, and I hate that. She’s so much more than that, and she’s capable of more. I’m so pissed that the last we get to see her is them all staring at the sky. No proper goodbye to the character. Even Adil and Khalida.
Also, as a side rant. I hated how Raelle didn’t seem as devastated when Scylla was captured to be tortured. When it was the other way around, you could feel Scylla’s pain at losing Raelle. Raelle was a bit out of character that episode. Rebel Raelle would’ve slipped off to save her girl. But no matter… seque rant over.
Tumblr media
3) No Raylla happy ending scene.
It would have been nice to have a single scene Raylla walking along the beach by the lighthouse… or a shot of them hanging their army medals on their front door. A life with no obligations, no army. But I guess with the unit being the mushroom’s new stewards, we don’t get that. I’m shocked that they didn’t even have a finale kiss, not even one. Even Tally and ‘Greg’ had a kiss scene.
Tumblr media
4) Nonsense earth and sky thing.
All that build up about the earth and sky being too powerful or dangerous to be united… only to point out that Abigail is a steward. If Jem can sing two elements —earth and sky— then why did they play up that narrative of Abigail and Adil? Of the Camarilla hunting down the Tarim and Bellweathers? I’m confused. And while I’m stoked that Abigail is a steward, Adil got pushed to the sidelines. Their union was all for naught. And I wanted a scene at the beach, damn it!
Also, all that mystery regarding the Abyssinian line… and the clue is in a book collecting dust in an abandoned house in Ghana, complete with illustrations, lol. The Camarilla historian surely sucks at his job. Or maybe they were hiding the fact that they knew it was the Bellweathers? I guess it doesn’t matter now.
And I thought the song had to be passed down? Or did I miss that?
Tumblr media
5) Where is everyone?
When everything was going down, they said half of the army was still in the Cession. So the other half is in Fort Salem, right? So where the hell were they when the base was getting attacked?? Hiding?? I was hoping for a war scene, even just glimpses—just to prove that the Army isn’t such a wimpy bunch. They’ve looked so helpless the whole season. I wanted them to fight back!
Where is M? They’re more useful fighting alongside the unit, not protecting the Wade. G-boy gets to be there in action, why not M??
And Kara Brandt? Like a ghost. I’m hoping it’s a loophole to make her the villain when there’s a next season, yeah?
Tumblr media
6) What did Tally ‘figure’ out, really?
What is the mushroom’s plan with them as the ‘new stewards/ goddesses’? Again, I’m hoping it’s open-ended as a continuation for future seasons. But c’mon… it didn’t make sense when Tally said she figured ‘it’ out. I was like—what? What did I miss?? How is it about the three of them? If the First Song didn’t matter, then why the stewards still sung it? It’s a bit of a cringe, it’s just so cheesy—that scene with the Mother speaking through Alder.
Tumblr media
7) Everyone are witches now?
I get that the original six went off in different parts of the world to spread the gift, so it is possible that witchcraft is passed on. But then if everyone has an inner witch that awoke, what’s with all the witch hunt last season? The army and Camarilla determining who has the dormant witch gene? And the witch plague, Penelope? I thought the plague was only deadly to witches… Hearst died because he had a witch vocal cord maybe, but Silver? I am so confused. And what happens to Penelope now?
Tumblr media
8) Witch bomb
The whole scene inside the mycelium still boggles me. One minute, it’s Adil and Scylla dying… then Raelle ends up on that glow-y sacrificial table of sorts, now she’s the one kinda dying and ready to blow? It just confuses me. And Raelle dispersed the gift to everyone in the world, with the witch bomb? This would’ve been the perfect moment for the Mother to actually materialise and explain her mysterious plan…
Tumblr media
9) ‘Greg’
Again, nothing against the actor…but really? You manage to squeeze in a scene of him rambling to Tally why he failed to help them in that Necro room and then give them a stinkin’ kiss scene (albeit short)… and then nothing about a Raylla/ Adigail kiss scene at the end? Or even some other significant scenes—like what the hell was happening outside Fort Salem, or like clips about the aftermath… They cut so many scenes for this guy, and his scenes doesn’t even add to the plot. *shakes my head* Yup, still bitter.
Tumblr media
10) Overall dark and slow-paced season and didn’t live up to the previous 2 seasons,, BUT still the one of the best shows to represent a wlw couple.
Like I said, it’s all mixed feelings. I’m disappointed at the finale. But at the same time, I’m so grateful for knowing Raylla. Taylor and Amalia did their characters so well, and I will forever cherish this ship. The cast are all brilliant, and all the crew did a fantastic job on making this show happen. I just wish it could’ve ended on a good note instead of rushing. It was a hot mess, but it’s done. I’m still grateful… and I’m still hoping for more seasons so they can fix this.

Karaoke Night
From the beginning, I knew it had to be karaoke that got me and Winn together. But I've scrapped 4 attempts and probably about 8k words to get this thing right, and I think I've finally gotten a version I'm happy with.
Warnings: anxiety attack, brief alcohol mention, brief sexual innuendo
Word Count: 2019
Summary: It's a good thing when your crush runs out of the room after you're forced to sing a romantic song in front of him, right? Right??
-----------
I leaned back in my chair and took a slow sip of my drink. I hadn’t known what to expect when Kara invited me to karaoke night at an alien dive bar, but it turned out to be a really fun time. Fortunately, Alex, James, and J’onn weren’t inexplicable vocal powerhouses like Winn, and apparently Kara, so I felt a lot more comfortable. Not that I had any intention of singing.
But, of course, as soon as I had the thought, Kara slid into the seat across from me with a smile that terrified me.
“Hey, Simon! Glad you could make it! Why are you sitting way back here? Come join us at our table!” She gestured to a table in the middle of the bar where everyone else was. Winn caught my eye and waved, and my heart did something ridiculous.
“Thanks, but I’m good here- I’m much more comfortable with a wall behind me.”
She nodded, understanding. I expected her to go back to the other table, but instead, she waved everyone else over. They all smiled, grabbed their drinks, and headed over without a moment’s hesitation. I told myself I was just imagining Winn subtly elbowing Alex out of the way to take the seat next to me.
I smiled and rolled my eyes. “Y’all, you really didn’t need to do this. I swear, I was having a perfectly good time as it was.”
“Yeah, well, too bad,” Winn said. “No one gets left out on karaoke night, even if they want to be.” He smiled, too, and took a drink of his beer. I tried my best not to think about the phallic nature of a beer bottle.
Kara stood up. “And absolutely no one gets to get away without singing. Come on, I already put in a song for you.”
My jaw dropped. “No, hang on, wait, no. I don’t sing.”
James, sitting on the other side of me, put one hand on my shoulder. “Everyone has to. Best to get it over with- she’s not gonna let this go.”
I thought for a second, weighing my options, then sighed. “Fine. What method of my utter humiliation did you pick?”
“You’ll see, just come on.” I stood up and let her lead me to the stage. I took the mic, and she headed back to the table.
The screen changed, and my heart stopped when I saw what song it was. How ‘Bout A Dance from Bonnie & Clyde. “How did you know I even know this song? Kara, I can’t do this.” Instead of responding to my desperate plea across the room, she gave me a thumbs-up. The music started, and I realized I wouldn’t be able to look at that area of the bar again for the rest of the song I’d listened to dozens of times, thinking about Winn.
In for a penny, in for a pound. There’s no half-assing this one. Fuck.
Thankfully, the song started off quiet, so I could focus on breathing and trying to forget where I was. As difficult as a song it was to sing well, it is one I knew like the back of my hand, so it could have been worse. As long as I avoided looking at him, I could get through it.
For most of the song, I did. But shortly before the end of it, I couldn’t stop myself, and nothing in the world could have prepared me for what I saw. Normally, his inability to sit still also applied to where he was looking, but he was perfectly still, focused on me with an intensity I’d never seen from him before. It froze me, too, and I found myself singing the rest of the song directly to him.
The last notes faded out, and whatever spell had fallen was broken. I turned to put the mic down, and when I turned back, Winn was gone. My heart sank and cracked. Fighting the panic attack that was starting to bubble in my chest, I walked back to the table.
I hadn’t even noticed that all of them were cheering and clapping until Alex spoke. “Simon, that was awesome! ‘I can’t sing’ my ass.”
I forced a laugh. “Thanks, but technically I said I don’t sing, not that I can’t.” I turned to Kara. “Thanks for inviting me, and including me and all that, but I really have to go. Sorry.” I ducked my head down and rushed out the door, not letting her respond.
Maybe it’s a good thing he left. It’ll be easier to pretend that didn’t happen if I don’t see him for a while, at least until I can get a grip. I got to my car, and as I fumbled to unlock it, I heard someone walk up behind me.
“Kara, I know you mean well, but I’m holding out against a panic attack by the slimmest of margins right now. I have to get home. I’ll call you later.”
“I’m, uh, I’m not Kara.” You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me. “Are you okay? Sorry, bad question. Can I help? Do you need a ride home?” The gentleness and care in Winn’s voice almost brought me to tears. Everything in me screamed to turn around, to look at him, but I couldn’t do it.
“I’ll be fine. I don’t live far from here, and I’ve got tools to help me get there safely. Thanks, though.” I got the car unlocked, but before I could open the door, his hand was on mine, stopping me. It was almost painful, how close behind me he was.
“If this is because I left, let me explain. I can’t let you leave like this if it’s my fault,” he whispered. I could feel his breath on the back of my neck; it took everything I had not to lean back into him.
I took a shaky breath. “I have an anxiety disorder. It’s not your fault. Please, Winn, I’ve embarrassed myself enough today. Pretend you never saw this, let me hold on to some shred of my dignity.” He moved his hand and took a few steps back.
“Embarrassed yourself? Is that why you think I left?” There was something different in his voice, but I couldn’t quite place it without the context of body language.
“If not that, why?”
“Can you look at me? You don’t have to, of course, but I’d rather say this to your face if possible.” I turned around, braced for the all too common look of pity that always came when people learned about my anxiety, but instead I was met with real understanding and compassion. He understands. I couldn’t help it; I started crying.
“Hey, hey, hey, it’s okay.” He closed the gap between us again, putting his hands on my shoulders. “I’m sorry, that can wait. Let’s get you home, okay?”
Too overwhelmed to think, I collapsed into him, wrapping my arms around his waist and fully sobbing into his shoulder. Without a moment’s hesitation, he pulled me in closer with one arm around my back at the shoulders and his other hand on the back of my head. It was the best hug I’d ever had. Then he started swaying gently from side to side and softly humming, and I’d never felt safer in my entire life.
Before long, I stopped crying, and I noticed what he was humming- How ‘Bout A Dance. I chuckled, and he stopped moving and relaxed the hug just enough for me to be able to back up and look at him, neither of us letting go.
“Feeling better?” he asked, and I took a deep breath.
“Thanks to you, yeah. I’m sorry about breaking down like that.”
To my surprise, he smiled. “You have nothing to apologize for. I’m just glad I could help.”
I felt myself smile back. “I meant it, you know. It really wasn’t your fault.”
“It kinda is, though,” he said, crinkling his nose adorably.
I shook my head. “Nope. Something I learned very early on in dealing with an anxiety disorder- it’s not anyone’s fault. Assigning fault or blame just adds more layers of shame and guilt, and it makes it so much worse. If you still want to tell me why, I’d love to hear it, but only if you want to for you, not because of me.”
He nodded, taking that in. “That makes sense. And yeah, I really do want to tell you.” He took a deep breath. “I left because if I hadn’t, I would have done something stupid like run up there and kiss you in front of everyone.”
I was quiet for a few seconds, pretending to think while I rebooted my brain. “Well, maybe that wouldn’t have been an ideal first kiss, but it certainly would have made for a good story.”
His eyebrows shot up and he started laughing. “You were having a full breakdown, like, a minute ago, and now you’re making jokes?”
“I contain multitudes, babe,” I said with a shrug. “Get used to it.” I leaned and kissed him, soft and quick. When I pulled back, I couldn’t help but giggle. “Oh my god, you’re blushing SO much. You’re so fucking cute.” That made him blush more, and he looked away and tried to get out of the hug. I didn’t let him.
“I- I am not blushing! And I’m not cute!”
“You are objectively both of those things.”
Seeing a logical out, he all but shouted, “Ah, see, there’s your problem! Cuteness is inherently subjective! Objective cuteness doesn’t exist.”
I clicked my tongue. “In most cases, you’re right. However, in the years I’ve known and had feelings for you, I have discovered a quantitative scale of how cute you are. That scale may exist at different levels of appeal for different people, but right now, you are at the upper extreme of it.”
“Y- years?” He asked, his voice suddenly very soft.
Fuck. I looked away, embarrassed. “I- yeah. Pretty much since my first day at CatCo. I’m sorry, that probably came across as super creepy, didn’t it? I’m so sor-” my apology was cut off when he leaned forward and kissed me, deep and slow.
I don’t know how long we stayed like that, making out in the middle of the parking lot, but eventually he pulled back. “Thank you for not giving up on me.”
I pulled him into a tight hug. “Honestly, I tried. But you’re too incredible to let go of. Thank you for seeing me. And thank you for your help earlier, with the anxiety.” I took a step back, breaking the embrace. “And I guess we should thank Kara for the set-up, despite how close it came to disaster?”
“Yeah, I guess we should,” he laughed, running a hand through his hair. “She’s gonna be so smug.”
“Oh god, yeah. Should we go in and face her and everyone else now?”
He thought for a second. “We could, or we could just take off? Go somewhere else, avoid all of their comments and opinions as long as we can?”
I breathed a sigh of relief. “Oh thank god. I was hoping you’d say that.” I put one hand on his cheek and smiled. “Maybe we go back to my place? We could watch a movie, or talk,” I looked down at his lips and stepped towards him, “or not talk.”
Maybe I moved first, maybe he did, maybe we moved at the same time, but a heartbeat later we were kissing again, this time needy, almost desperate. Without even thinking, I put one hand into his hair and pulled lightly; the sound he made was the most beautiful thing I’d ever heard.
As quick as it started, we stopped. “Yeah, your place sounds great,” he said, completely breathless.
“Fantastic. Let’s go.” My voice wasn’t any steadier, but they were barely out before he literally ran to the other side of my car. “Like I said, so goddamn cute.”
I managed to not egregiously break any traffic laws on the way, but just barely.

NPC FILES: SALVATORE BOARDING SCHOOL EDITION
Brock Paxon (he/him) is both a member of the Paxon pack and a member of the Salvatore Boarding School pack. He splits his time between New Orleans and Mystic Falls. Brock is quite knowledgable about werewolf packs and the hierarchies within as a whole but he never broadcasts his knowledge. He is currently dating Wade Rivers.
Piper Barry (she/her) is a member of the very well off Barry pack as well as a member of the Salvatore Boarding School pack. Much like Brock, she splits her time between New Orleans and Mystic Falls. But if she could choose, she'd stay in New Orleans indefinitely because she's tired of having to fight for her life every other week or so.
Piper is always working to elevate her status in the pack for herself and her friends and when she's not doing that, she's busy thwarting her parents' plans of securing an alliance with the Deep Water pack through marriage. Piper is nowhere near ready to tie the knot. She is fiercely loyal to those she considers 'her people' - like her ex-boyfriend, Brutus, and her current boyfriend, Rick - and always makes sure to add some bite to her bark.
Brutus BasRoq (he/him) is the future alpha of the BasRoq pack. Though Brutus is secretly unsure whether or not he has what it takes to take up the mantle after school.
He masks his insecurity with pointed remarks. He knows to use his words to hit where it hurts. Unlike his ex-girlfriend Piper, Brutus is quite all right with his social standing. Both at school and within the Salvatore Boarding School pack.
Though he does arch his eyebrow at the fact that his alpha is dating a vampire: Brutus may not say it aloud, but he thinks that Jed is gonna get his heart broken in the long run.
Rick Rogers (he/him) is one of the last remaining members of the Rogers pack. In fact, it's just him and his dad. When Rick took his first breath, his mother took her last. Everyone else is gone too. Hunter attack. His dad was never capable of bouncing back after enduring so many losses all at once. So he took it all out on his son.
And when he could not take it anymore, Rick left. He grabbed what little belongings he had and hitchhiked his way to Mystic Falls when he heard about a school for supernaturals. To this day, he doesn't know what became of his dad and to be frank, he doesn't want to know.
Rick is a year-rounder. He's the class clown, the jokester, and will try anything once - which is why he climbed onto the broom that Alyssa Chang had enchanted once. Rick doesn't do well with emotions but he does have genuine feelings for Piper.
Trevor Poldark (he/him) is a member of the Poldark pack and the Salvatore Boarding School pack. Technically next in line to be the alpha, but he is so not feeling it. He figures that he's here for a good time, not a long time and that he'll probably get taken down by a vampire at some point so why do all that training at all? Nah! He'll abdicate. Make sure the title goes to someone who actually wants this. Trevor is quite all right with the vampires roaming the halls of the boarding school. He wouldn't consider Wade or Floribeth his friends but it's nice to have people to eat Sinigang and speak Tagalog with.
Zoe Nguyen (she/her) is the fashion forward relative of Xi, Van and Kara Nguyen. She grew up in the Ninth Ward and is a member of the Ninth Ward Coven as well as the Choral Coven as she has more patience for singing than anything else. While her best friend, Drusilla Isobel Saitou, exclusively dates witches (and is seeing Claire Blessingway, the sewing witch and leader of the Crafty Coven), Zoe is more open-minded (even though her brief flirtation with Landon got her a nose bleed, courtesy of Josie). After all, one of her relatives - Xi, a former member of Julian's Army - is a vampire too and she keeps a close eye on him because he's literally all she's got left in the world.
She misses Van, murdered by Kol, and Kara, murdered by Hayley Marshall-Kenner on Davina Claire's orders, every single day and she doesn't know how to feel about the fact that she essentially went to school with the daughter of the woman who murdered her relative on orders of Kol's wife. She does not bring her concerns up to Hope because Hope has enough on her plate already.
Aside from that, Zoe has no time for the Super Squad or the Anti Squad. She thinks their squabbles are childish but does business with them when she has to. That and the school is her home and she'll rise to defend it if she must. She's quite unsure about returning to New Orleans after graduation but Drusilla always wanted to see where Zoe grew up so there is a trip on the docket.
Lael Pastore (they/them) is a witch with a serious knack for art. Their past is shrouded in mystery and when the school isn't facing a crisis, yet another monster of the week or losing it's funding, Lael is hitting the books, trying to find out who they are and where they came from. They make it a point to try and get along with everybody because they are a year-rounder. Despite their pleasant disposition, Lael is known as something of a mad scientist within the halls of Salvatore. Which is exactly why Floribeth took to Lael so well and why Lael and Floribeth are also study buddies.
Clara Voronova (she/her) looks small and adorable but she's mighty. Or tries to be. It's not working out very well because she's basically a baby bird. Clara's got a hard time with keeping her bloodlust under control and keeping blood down. She's not the biggest fan of blood bags, either. But she dutifully drains them all even though they taste stale and gross and yucky. Floribeth looks out for Clara when she can and often shares her blood infused sweets with her. Clara likes those much more than blood bags.
Clara is the adopted daughter of Sofya Voronova, a vampire and a hired gun who sought to end Klaus Mikaelson after he killed her entire family in the sixteenth century. Sofya once worked for Lucien Castle and ended up working for Marcel Gerard after Lucien died. To this day, she is still working for and with Marcel. Though whether or not the two are still romantically involved is anyone's guess.
Sofya took Clara underneath her wing after she found her - already turned and subsequently abandoned - because she reminded Sofya of her younger sister even in her frenzied state.
Shortly after that, Clara began to see Sofya as a mother-figure and, in turn, Sofya abandoned her plans to get revenge on the Mikaelsons, choosing instead to devote her time to her daughter, finding she quite enjoyed teaching Clara the ins and outs of weaponry.
(Which is something that Derek never forgave her for. For one, brief, shining moment, he thought he might've found someone who understood his plight and who might take up arms with him against the Mikaelsons. After all, Klaus Mikaelson had ruined Sofya's life too! He couldn't, for the life of him, understand Sofya's attachment to Marcel and to Clara.)
Nathan Clark (he/him) is a vampire who thinks that Landon Kirby is the coolest dude to ever walk around the school for single-handedly killing Malivore. Or, rather, the hottest. Because he's a phoenix, get it? Nathan is quick to ask Landon how he did it. And, honestly, he wants to know every single detail because he wants to make this life of his into art. He doesn't know what medium yet. Maybe he'll write a book. Maybe he'll create a series of paintings. Or maybe he'll work on a graphic novel.
He's gotta do something to kill the time while he works to become a journalist and snag a job at WYET 9.
(This isn't new. Nathan is nosy. He's always been fixated on stories like those. They're like the comics he's always read! And he sure does love comics a lot! Nathan hasn't quite worked up the courage to ask but he does want to know how Kaleb, MG, Clara and Floribeth got turned and who turned them. Nathan doesn't realize that those stories and intimate details might be private for a reason.)
When Nathan figures out that Landon didn't actually single-handedly kill Malivore, his admiration (and crush) vanishes. But it's a good thing. That way, Nathan can treat Landon like a regular (human) being and a friend.
Nathan often joins the others when they play DND and if he's not being a huge nerd, Nathan is helping Lael with their quest to figure out who they are and where they came from. It's something Nathan can relate to. He got turned by Lee and is trying to get in touch with him to this day. You know, for an interview.

The rich aroma of breakfast spreads throughout Rhykie's house, wide enough to extend to the bedroom, and to reach Karamatsu's nostrils and lure him out of his slumber. As he groggily follows the scent that already makes his mouth water, he arrives in the kitchen; his girlfriend doing her culinary business and her back turned towards him.
Karamatsu stays at his spot to admire more of his girlfriend, even if he doesn't get to fully see her face. Just from this view, her beauty already stands out. Her hair, colored in a shade that could be compared to something as lovely as chocolate, completely down and resting on one side of her shoulders. Her stature, although not of an hourglass, curvy in its own way. And her legs — Oh dear, her legs. They're shaped in a way that has enough volume for Karamatsu to lay his head on. He could cry and thank the almighty for making his girlfriend often wear shorts; something that he somehow finds himself fawning over.
All of this, everything of Rhykie — Karamatsu adores. He wastes no more time as he quietly approaches Rhykie, wrapping his arms around her waist. This earns him a yelp, "Karamatsu!"
"Good morning, sunshine." Karamatsu greets back with a smirk, planting a kiss on the shoulder where her hair wasn't in the way.
Rhykie's expression softens, especially after hearing that deep voice of his? She's already melting. "Good morning, mister." She brings up a hand to pat him on the cheek. "Don't scare me like that."
"Hmm? Why not?"
"Because..." Rhykie takes a pause, bringing back her attention to the food. "... I might think you're a kidnapper."
The Matsuno snickers. "A kidnapper? Would you really let a kidnapper inside your house?" He raises an eyebrow. "And let him sleep in your bed?"
Rhykie hums in response as she continues cooking. "Maybe not. But what if you actually were?" She spares him a glance as she playfully pokes Karamatsu on the nose with a free hand.
The sudden display of affection catches Karamatsu off-guard for a brief moment, but he quickly recovers. "Then you've already been kidnapped. Because I have your heart!" He starts to latch his fingers on her waist in a tickling motion, earning yet another yelp from her.
"Karamatsu!" Rhykie tries to escape his grasp in between hearty laughs. "Kara, I'm cooking!" When she somehow succeeds in getting distance between the two of them, she goes into a stance and points the utensil in her hand at Karamatsu like a weapon. "Don't you dare come closer."
Karamatsu puts up his hands in a grabbing nature, ready to attack his girlfriend with tickles if the opportunity ever rises again. Rhykie's jokingly threatening behavior makes the grin on his face grow wider. "Or you'll do what?"
"I'm not feeding you breakfast."
"You're not really gonna do that, are you?"
"Of course not. But it'll be burnt."
Her statement actually makes Karamatsu back pedal his thoughts; he doesn't want to eat burnt food. Nobody does. Pondering his actions, he merely chuckles afterwards and places his hands down as a sign of surrender. "Alright, alright. You can come here."
But even with the assurance, Rhykie still approaches his boyfriend with utmost caution, maintaining eye contact with him and taking one step at a time. The vigilant behavior she's displaying right now only gives way for another chuckle to escape Karamatsu's lips. "Kiki."
"I'm not sure if you'll tickle me again!" Rhykie stops midway in her quest to the stove, tightening her grip on the utensil and even raising it slightly to show that she means business.
"I won't. I promise."
Rhykie gives her boyfriend one suspicious glare before sprinting back to her original quest. Meanwhile Karamatsu, staying true to his word, fixates his gaze on her and nearly brings himself to another admiring compilation of the lovely woman standing right before him. Before any of that could happen, however, Karamatsu smiles to himself, and allows his feet to drag themselves towards Rhykie. A trust between the couple has been established once again as the brunette doesn't seem to flinch when her boyfriend comes close.
Rhykie breathed out a sigh as she grabs a plate to place the food on. "You're so annoying."
"And yet, you're still making me breakfast." Karamatsu reverts back, a knowing smile present on his face.
Even if she isn't aware of what he looks like right now, Rhykie rolls her eyes. Their bickering doesn't last long, as Rhykie finally turns around to face her boyfriend and hands him the plate of food, a light smoke and delicious smell emitting from it. "Here's your breakfast, Mister Matsuno."
Karamatsu eyes the food offered to him. It wasn't like those lavish meals in restaurants, no, it was just a simple breakfast made with genuine love by the most gorgeous and kindest woman Karamatsu has ever laid his eyes on. "Thank you, Miss Murasaki." He takes the plate from her. Saying nothing of the fact that their hands touched each other for a quick moment, Karamatsu takes a look at his girlfriend. "But I think I would like to have my other breakfast first."
Visible confusion introduces itself on Rhykie's face, her eyes widen for a split second before her eyebrows furrow themselves together. "Other breakfast? But... I haven't cooked anything else." Her eyes scatter around the room to figure out what Karamatsu was talking about. To no avail, she just brings back her sight to the man, but instead of finding him within a fair distance, she was met with his face inches away from hers.
With one hand carrying the plate, and the other pulling Rhykie by the waist, Karamatsu gives her no chance to react and quickly connects his lips with hers. The significant height difference they possess only helps Karamatsu to deepen the kiss, to which he eventually senses Rhykie letting herself succumb to. He feels her hands slowly running up his chest, and tugging onto his shirt tightly. It's supposed to be him to give his partner the sensation of absolute bliss, but he instead finds himself being enveloped by Rhykie's overflowing love for him and just him.
It is nothing but a quick kiss, and although Karamatsu doesn't want to lose the warmth of her against him, he breaks off the kiss to give them both a chance to catch their breaths. He looks down at his girlfriend, just at the perfect time she looks up at him with those doe eyes of hers. "It's you, my darling."
"Ah." Is the only sound Rhykie could utter in that moment, but she later goes into a giggling fit as she finally gets an understanding of what Karamatsu means. She places her hands on both sides of Karamatsu's face and, with the best of her effort, stands on her tiptoes to give him a quick peck on the lips. "Save your corny pick up lines for another morning, okay?" She leaves a playful remark as she pulls herself out of his arms and attends to cleaning up the equipment she used.
Karamatsu doesn't expect he will be provided another kiss, but he will take of what he is given. "If you can handle them."
"Oh, Kara, please. I've dealt with your flirt attempts for over a year."
And he loves it. He loves how she decided to stay with him and helped him grow altogether. He loves her. And he really hopes to have more mornings like this with her.

Back To Krypton - Chapter 9
Tumblr media
Read Back To Krypton on Ao3 here!
Two days isn’t as much time as you would think. The first day, the day when they found the antidote, they spend the day lazily rifling through the accommodation, having a lot of fun simply nosing through the excess of items in the place.
Lena and Kara spent most of that day together, sitting side by side on the tiled floor up in the hidden tower, a mere blanket separating their butts from the cool tiles. They pass items out of the cabinets to each other, sharing their cool findings and piling up information crystals to be searched through later.
“Hey, look. This is good.” Kara takes out a paper that has what appears to be several drawings of what appears to be small scales of trees and information surrounding each image. “This shows all of the native trees around here and has some information on each, like this one in the top right corner, it has bark that can be ground into a paste for brushing your teeth with.”
Lena looks incredulous. “I’m glad I brought plenty of toothpaste with me, if you want to brush your teeth with bark then you are more than welcome to.”
“Where is your inner nerd? This kind of stuff usually has you salivating.” Kara dangles the paper in front of her jauntily. “I know you want it really, come on…”
Lena snatches it from her hand with a smirk. “You’re literally the most annoying person on this planet.”
“You like it, just admit it.”
Lena can’t deny that, given the right time, she does enjoy the light-hearted teasing from Kara, but she would never in a million years admit it. She can’t even fully admit to herself just how much she likes it, likes her.
As her eyes skim over the paper, Lena tries to look as flippant as she possibly can. “You couldn’t even be bothered to translate it for me? One would think you have a poor work ethic.”
“Hardy ha, very funny.” Kara goes back to what she was doing before, grabbing more things from the cabinet and making a show of hiding the interesting things from Lena as she pulls them out.
In response, Lena waits until Kara is leaning forwards into the cabinet and takes advantage of her now exposed torso to jab her fingers into her ribs, tickling her without mercy.
“Stop! Stop! I’m gonna pee!” Kara gasps out in between laughs. Her arms come up to try and defend herself, but Lena manages to avoid them, unwilling to give in.
“Are you ready to apologise?” Lena slows down her tickles to allow her the time to respond.
Kara gasps at her. “Never!”
No more prompting is needed to get Lena to resume tickling the blonde, a devilish smirk overtaking her features as Kara devolves into little more than a giggling mess.
After a solid minute of precise and unwavering tickles, Lena finally ceases her attack, giving Kara a chance to get her breath back. “That was a low blow, Luthor.”
“You knew what you were getting yourself into when you became friends with me, you have to deal with the consequences.”
Kara is just about to respond when something made of leather catches her eye from the back of the cabinet in front of her. She has to unstack a few information crystals and random knickknacks from on top of it and then blow away several layers of dust, but she gets it out with relative ease.
“No way!”
Lena is left a little astounded by how short Kara’s attention span seems to be and shuffles over to take a gander over her shoulder, a little intrigued at what could have possibly warranted such an exclamation.
Kara stretches the leather fabric in between her hands in front of her. She turns it in her grip so she can take a look at both sides and check the quality.
“Now, this is what I’m talking about!”
“A sheath, really?”
“If you think for even a second that I’m not going to pry that sword out of the ground and test to see if it fits, then you’re officially insane.”
Lena can’t hold back the eye roll, by the time she was aware that her eyeballs were moving the momentum had already forced them to finish their journey. “Let me guess, if it fits, which it most likely will since there is only one sword and one sheath in this place, you’re going to start walking around with a sword strapped to your belt.”
Kara turns to her with an unamused stare. “…you have zero proof that I was thinking of that.”
“But were you?”
“Yes.”
Kara purposely ignores the triumphant look on Lena’s face and clambers to her feet so she can begin to pry the sword from the tile. She grasps the handle with both hands and pulls as hard as she can, gritting her teeth and groaning as she tries her hardest to free the blade.
“What’s wrong, Supergirl? Not quite as strong as you thought you were?”
Kara uses a very helpful skill called selective hearing to dismiss the comment and starts wiggling the sword, trying to gain more leverage and break down the tile so it will be easier to pull the sword out. It barely moves, she only gains the tiniest bit of wiggle room with each pull.
After a long minute of pulling and wiggling the sword pulls free, the release is sudden enough that she whacked herself under the chin with the hilt as it rose from where it was previously nestled. The force of it sent her back onto her butt.
She drops the sword and brings her hands up to her chin, groaning in pain as Lena comes shuffling over quickly from where she was sat watching her struggle before. Her hands herd Kara’s away and take her chin in her hands, feeling the bone and checking her over for any major damage.
She leans back after a few moments, trying her best not to laugh. “You alright?”
“No.”
“Yeah, you might have a bruise there later.”
Kara rubs her chin once more before using Lena’s outstretched hand as leverage to stand up and grab her prize, pouting at it a little because it essentially attacked her after she rescued it.
“Put that pout away, it’s deadly.” Lena smiles as she joins Kara in checking out the sword. It’s longer than she had initially thought, about a foot of it must have been completely embedded into the floor.
Kara hands it over for a second so she can grab the sheath from the floor and presents it to her with a flourish, tipping it down bank so the opening is facing up and Lena can thread the sword in. Perfect fit.
“Yep. I’m keeping it.” Kara snatches it back and takes off down the stairs, leaving Lena standing in the dust.
She races into the living area, disturbing the little family in there. “I’m keeping this!” She displays it for them to see, looking vaguely guilty as she sees the dirty looks she gets for talking too loudly when Esme is napping on the couch.
“You’re keeping the sword that almost killed you? That’s not healthy.” Kelly mutters to her.
“Neither is my diet.”
Lena comes storming into the room a little out of breath. “Please tell me you didn’t run whilst holding a sharp object.”
“It’s in a sheath, it’s fine.”
Lena takes it out of her hand and places it down on the coffee table. “You say that like you didn’t just hit yourself in the face two minutes ago.”
Alex barks out a laugh at that. “Did you really?”
Kara fixes Lena with a nasty glare and steps into her personal space. “I’m going to make you regret ever saying anything embarrassing about me in front of my sister. You’re not going to like what I’m going to do.”
Lena doesn’t look the slightest bit intimidated. “Sure, I’ll remember that tonight when you ask for cuddles.”
The gasp that comes from Kara’s throat silences the whole room. “I can’t believe you actually just said that.”
Alex is watching the whole thing go down, wishing she either had popcorn or a notepad to write down all of the new information she is learning about her little sister. She is definitely going to remember that she forces the badass CEO, Lena Luthor, to cuddle with her at night.
Nia appears around the corner, freezing as she sees how close Kara and Lena are standing and how Alex and Kelly are merely watching them get in each other’s faces.
“I don’t have the slightest clue what I’ve just walked into.”
She throws her hands in the air at the lack of reaction she gets so when she spots the sword on the table, she picks it up. It’s heavier than she was expecting but it makes her feel like a ninja when she holds it. If only she had a watermelon to cut, that sucker would be halved in no time.
She brings down with a swoop in between where Kara and Lena are standing and where Alex and Kelly are sitting. That gets their attention.
“You know, I really shouldn’t be able to literally cut the tension with a knife…well sword.”
Kara and Lena finally back up from one another so they can send matching glares to Nia. Lena walks right toward her and takes the sword from her. “You’re way too young to be playing with swords.”
“I’m an adult.”
Kara backs up Lena. “You’re still too young.”
Kelly watches on from the couch, her hand brought up in front of her face to hide her smile as Nia throws her hands up in the air angrily. She goes to talk but all of the attention has already shifted away from her, so she simply stomps her foot like a petulant child and takes a seat, crossing her arms to show her anger.
Kara finally breaks and moves to plop down onto the couch. “What do you guys want to do now?”
“Did you finish up in the tower?”
Kara shrugs. “Pretty much, just got to tidy up a bit and look through the crystals but that can be done tomorrow.”
“Cool, that gives us plenty of time to force you to take us to the science labs downstairs and show us all of the cool shit they were doing here.” Alex, being the mother she is, swears in a whisper so Esme doesn’t hear.
Kara does a double take. “Downstairs? I didn’t know there was a downstairs.”
Lena has the same confused look on her face. “We couldn’t have possibly missed a whole floor.”
Alex and Kelly share an amused eyebrow raise.
“The stairs were right by the staircase that brought us up. The door to the second set of stairs opened when you lifted the first set.” Kelly explains. “I guess you had no reason to use that hallway again after you came in, huh?”
Lena sends Kara a pointed glare and Kara immediately jumps in to defend herself. “It was dark when I went down that hallway, I wasn’t on the lookout for extra staircases.”
After an eye roll, Lena and Kara make their way to the original staircase that brought them up from the forest floor and to their surprise, there is in fact a door nearby that leads to a shorter staircase.
They follow the stairs down and find an absolutely massive lab space. Kara is immediately taken aback by the memories of being in labs just like this one with her father as a child. “This takes me back.”
Alex must have followed them because she pops up behind them and makes them jump as she speaks. “It was very difficult controlling myself by not coming down here before, but I didn’t want to accidentally kill myself by touching some weird alien shit that you could have warned me about.”
“Smart move,” Kara mutters as she wanders further into the lab, looking over at some of the equipment and smiling. It’s the exact same equipment that her father used to use to show her how to do fun little experiments on and let her watch as he did his super important work experiments.
Lena and Alex are practically following her around the room like lost little puppies begging her to give them any titbits of information she can on the sciences of Krypton.
When Kara turns to look at them she has a fright at how intently they are looking back at her. “Oh, um…I guess you want me to show you something?”
The resounding nods she gets in response kick start her muscle memory as she heads right to the storage shelves and grabs multiple things but mostly ores and wires.
She spreads them across the first available surface and explains what each of them is and how each can be used. Some of them, they already know of or at least have a general understanding of thanks to either files from the Fortress of Solitude or from similar elements on Earth.
With steady hands and an impeccable memory, Kara rebuilds a little project that she did when she was training to be accepted into the science guild. She commentates on what she is doing with each movement.
Alex and Lena watch with awe as Kara slowly but surely builds a little bio shield with the items. “The aim of the shield was to help repopulate some of the insects that were, or rather are, dying out. You probably noticed the lack of insects when we were walking. The shield was supposed to help regulate the water and oxygen around their nests to give them a steady atmosphere and permeate growth.”
Lena shakes her head at her, completely blown away. “That’s incredible.”
“Thanks, I don’t think my father had it in him to tell me that by the time I’d made it, the specific insect that I’d designed it for, had gone completely extinct. I only found out because I was going to submit it towards my entrance exam for the science guild and he had to stop me so I wouldn’t make a fool of myself. I redesigned it for another type of bug after that.”
“Make a fool of yourself? Kara, if this could have been used on a much greater scale then it could have saved Krypton.” Alex flicks her eyes between the bio shield and her little sister.
“I doubt it, the very core of Krypton was breaking down, nothing could have stopped it really, not unless everyone on the planet suddenly upped and stopped everything they were doing to harm it and you can see based on global warming on Earth that that’s just not going to happen.”
With one on either side, they envelop her in a tight hug and hold her, determined to lighten the mood.
Lena can’t help herself though, she has to ask. “Can I keep this so I can recreate it on Earth when we get back? There are plenty of species of bugs that would appreciate it and with a few tweaks we could probably use it for other animals too.”
“Sure.” Kara gives her a kind smile, but it doesn’t quite meet her eyes.
Kara promptly changes the subject and spends the next couple of hours taking them around to each piece of equipment to explain what it does. She even has a sneaky glance at the computer to see what the previous scientist was working on, but all of the data had been wiped. She’s not all that surprised.
Kelly shouts them up for dinner not long after that and they all head up to enjoy Kelly’s first attempt at a true Kryptonian dish. Kara definitely approves and which earns her a beaming grin from Kelly.
Lena wakes up before Kara the next morning, a rarity.
She allows herself the gift of spending several sweet minutes of uninterrupted gazing. It’s not often that she allows herself the time to simply just, look.
It’s also not often that Kara looks so totally at ease, free of the burden of her home planet and her new planet, but here she is at peace. The corners of her mouth tip up ever so slightly, clueing Lena in that she is dreaming. She always smiles when she dreams, except for the bad ones.
Bad doesn’t seem like a strong enough word to describe how utterly terrible those nights are. Lena has only witnessed it twice in their entire friendship and one of those was on the second night of the mission. Kara must have sensed that it would be a bad night because she set up their tent a little further from the others.
The memory of the heart-wrenching cries still fills her ears when she thinks of it. For Kara’s sake she doesn’t bring it up, she learnt that lesson the first time she witnessed it after she stayed over because she had indulged in one too many glasses of wine after game night. When she tried to talk about it the next day Kara had completely shut down and avoided her for the next week until she agreed not to talk about it.
She brushes the memories from her mind, not wanting to taint the image she is trying to paint in her head of the way Kara looks right now, soft and cute. She’s all snuggled up into the duvet, hair fanned out on the pillow and a tiny smile on her face. Her hands are clinging to Lena’s shirt to keep her close. She looks utterly content.
Lena congratulates herself on her acting skills when Kara starts to stir, pretending that she was also just waking up too. Kara doesn’t even second guess it but perhaps that’s more to do with her still half-asleep state than Lena’s acting choices.
Kara climbs right out of bed, sending her a mumbled “good morning” as Lena sits up, groaning from the effort, then heading for the bathroom.
With a deep sigh Lena flops back into the pillow and closes her eyes tightly as she hears the shower click on. She’s still pretty tired, she could have gotten a better sleep if she had just turned back over instead of watching Kara sleep but sometimes you just have to prioritise.

Kara Danvers x Daughter reader where the r has only gotten her powers and Kara helps them after a major meltdown with her heat vision during a panic attack? Luv ur writing btw
a/n: once again, i am very sorry for getting to this so late. here you go:(
this is also set in the same timeline/universe as this
Tumblr media
Kara was in the middle of her workday when she suddenly heard your heart rate increase. While you had become accustomed to Earth, you have not become accustomed to the powers you had on the planet. Going from this weak being to being able to rip a door off with a gentle tug was a very big and abrupt switch for you.
Because you didn’t have much control yet, Kara felt it would be best for you to either stay at home or go to the DEO. Most of the time you chose the former, since it had become your home and you felt most comfortable there.
The woman heard your heart speed up even more and knew that she needed to get home quickly. So she snuck off and flew as fast as she could. In just a few seconds, she was walking into her apartment.
As she made her way through, looking for you, she saw that her cushions were torched.
“(Y/n),” she gently called out. “C’mon, little one, where are you?”
Kara got her answer when she heard your fast, shallow breaths in the kitchen. She walked around the counter and saw you sitting on the floor, your knees hugged to your chest.
“It’s just me. I need you to breathe, sweetie.”
The blonde slowly inched closer, knowing that any sudden movement or sound would set you off. She knew because she had been through this before.
“That’s it. I know it’s hard but focus. Listen to my heartbeat.”
As the minutes ticked by, she saw your chest rise and fall slower as your breathing returned back to normal.
You finally looked up and what she saw broke her heart; your eyes were red and puffy and the distress was clear on your face.
“Is it okay if I touch you, little one?”
You nodded and all but collapsed into her arms, silent tears streaming down your face.
“I’m sorry…”
“There’s nothing to be sorry for,” Kara said, pushing you back and taking your face in her hands. “Nothing to apologize for. I know what it’s like and I’m gonna help you through it. Okay? I’ll be there every step of the way.”
You nodded once again and went back into the comfort of her arms.

Supergirl: Alex Scares her Daughter
Tumblr media
TW: Panic Attacks, Parent yelling
Alex had a long-hard day at work. It felt like none of the agents actually knew how to do there job, she had several miscommunications with Brainy, and she got into a fight with Kara. So when she came home and realized you didn’t finish the few chores she had asked you to do she snapped.
“I don’t ask you for very much Y/N. I can’t believe how lazy you are. I cant deal with you right now go to your room.” You stand there unmoving, your hands start shaking as you have never been yelled at like that before.
“Go to your room NOW,” She yelled louder and for the first time you were actually afraid of your mom. You couldn’t move however because you felt frozen in place.
You sat down on the couch immediately and held your knees up to your chest wrapping your arms around them. Your heart was pounding, your breath was coming out in short gasps, and tears were beginning to pool in your eyes. Alex noticed this immediately and her anger disappeared as she was now filled with worry.
“Y/N? Y/N honey, I’m sorry its okay, I need you to slow down your breathing,” she sat next to you on the couch. “Can you breath with me? in for 3, hold for 3, out for 3.” Alex did the breathing exercises until you began to copy.
“Great job baby, you’re doing so well,” she moved closer to you making you flinch at first Alex was kicking herself mentally. “can I hug you sweetheart?” You nodded after a few seconds and she wrapped her arms around you.
“I’m sorry mommy,” you said in a small tear filled voice which broke Alex’s heart.
“No baby,  I’m sorry I overreacted. I had a bad day and I took it out on you,” she kissed the top of your head. “I’m so so sorry,” after a while you pulled away from her finally undoing your pose from earlier and yawning, panic attacks always took a lot out of you no matter how small they were.
Alex lifted you up and carried you into your room where she laid you down on your bed and pulled over your covers, “what about the chores mom?”
She shook her head “don’t worry about those silly chores just get some rest.” Alex went back to the living room where she let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. She ran a hand through her hair messing it from the slicked back style she had it in all day.
Alex was so upset with herself she hadn’t meant to be so harsh. She always hated when you had panic attacks, and the fact she caused one killed her. She knew she really messed up and she was intending on doing whatever was needed to make it up to her baby.
She decided to run you a warm bath  because you were always sore after a panic attack. While you were in the bathroom after having woken up Alex queued up your favorite series on Netflix and collected blankets for you to cuddle under. She also ordered your favorite takeout and got out your favorite snacks.
When you were out of the bathroom she came over and hugged you again, “I’m so sorry again for everything today. I hate that I gave you a panic attack.”
“I’m sorry mom, I was gonna do the chores after my homework I just never got a chance.”
“Oh baby, I should’ve heard what you had to say before jumping to conclusions I was so wrong.”
“I Forgive you mom.”
She squeezed you a little tighter, “Come on lets go cuddle on the couch and binge some Netflix. you’re favorite takeout is on it’s way.”
You cuddled into her side as she sat back down on the sofa, she kissed the top of your head, “I love you kiddo.”
“I love you too mom.”

Lena and Kara catch Superkid and Maya kissing then try to have the the talk with them but Superkid gets awkward and drags Maya out of the house taking her to go get ice cream
Wow, what a scene! Hope this is what you had in mind. @shackalack-alpaca I hope this is also what you had in mind. Embarrassment level 10 :)
THE TALK.
Word count: 970.
You have super hearing. YOU HAVE SUPER HEARING! It’s what you are screaming to yourself, loudly, in your mind. These things were never supposed to happen, and yet. Yet here we are.
“Wow! That’s a big kiss!” Kara speaks first, making you and Maya startle, moving as far away from each other as you possibly can.
“Moms!” You yell in shock, turning red from embarrassment. You look at Maya, also looking flushed next to you, and you can hear her heart beating so fast, you’re scared she might have a heart attack.
Kara and Lena are both on the other side of the living room, and they have different expressions on their faces. Kara is practically laughing at you, like she is having the time of her life knowing she’ll be able to annoy you with this situation some time later. Lena, on the other hand, looks like she would give anything to unsee what she just saw.
You weren’t even doing anything that serious. You and Maya are very careful when your moms are around, because who likes kissing in front of their parents, right? But they weren’t home, so you were kissing kissing, and a lot focused on what was happening, so you didn’t hear them arriving.
“I should go.” Maya picks up her backpack on the floor, throwing it over her shoulder, and you agree with your head immediately.
“I’ll walk you to the door.”
“No. Wait a minute-” Kara says, making you both stop walking. None of you turn to them, just keep your heads down, and stay in the same position as you are. But you dare to glance at them, and you see they’re having their telepathic conversation, and you shiver. Not good. Really bad. Dear Rao, should you play dead?
“Please, sit down, girls.” Lena finally says and your stomach drops. If you fly towards the center of the Earth, how much more terrible would it be to drown in lava than to have this conversation right here?
“Moms, can we-” You try, but Lena shakes her head in denial, before you’re finished. So you sit back on the couch, and Maya follows you. Kara and Lena sit in front of you two, and you breathe deep trying to look calmer than you actually feel.
“We are aware you’ve both been seeing each other for a while now, and there’s nothing wrong with showing affection.” Lena starts, and oh Rao, oh God, oh Thor, why are you being punished so hard? “But obviously you two are way too young to be sharing, you know, that type of intimacy.”
“We were not-” You try to defend yourself, but Lena interrupts again.
“Oh, I know. If you were, this conversation would be very different, believe me.” Lena says, and you look at Maya from the corner of your eyes. She is looking to the floor, completely incapable of looking at your moms. “We just want to make sure you both know there’s a time for everything.”
“Your time will come.” Kara adds, and you look down, blushing furiously. Why Rao? Why? “And believe me, it’s going to be fun, and great, and magical and-”
“And hopefully not on my couch.” Lena adds, taking the embarrassment to the next level.
“Yes! Definitely not here!” Kara agrees, then smile at you. “We know kids your age want to have se-”
“Nope.” You stand up grabbing Maya’s hand. She is taken by surprise, but she stands up too. “I think we’ve heard enough.”
“We didn’t even talk about the birds and the bees.” Kara reaches out trying to stop you, but you’re gently pushing Maya out of the living room, so she doesn’t catch you.
“There’s no need. We’re not doing birds nor bees, or anything remotely like it, so, we’re gonna leave now.”
You don’t wait for permission or for any disagreement from their parts. This is too mortifying and out of line. If you were getting ‘the conversation’ alone, that would be terrible, but still understandable. But you and Maya going through all of that together? Rao, no. Completely out of line.
You close the front door, cursing yourself for not being able to kiss and pay attention to your surroundings at the same time, and as soon as you’re a few feet farther away, you look at Maya.
“I’m so sorry. That was, I don’t even have words for how disastrous that was.” You beg, holding her hand. She seems to be coming down from her own wave of embarrassment herself, when she looks at you.
“Were they going to talk to us about sex?” She asks, as shocked as you feel.
“Kara was probably going to, and then Lena was probably going to stop her eventually, but-yeah-I mean-yeah. They were going to.”
And to that Maya lets out the loudest laugh you’ve ever heard coming out of her mouth. You stay there, not knowing what to think and how to react. Is she laughing about the absurdity of the situation, or does she actually think it is funny?
“I mean, Jamie warned me they were very-” She thinks about it for a second. “affectionate with each other. I didn’t think that would include us.”
“God, it doesn’t.” You let out a chuckle. “Can we please go eat ice-cream and forget this ever happened?”
“Yes to the ice-cream, big no to forgetting about this.” Maya kisses your cheek, and resumes walking, still holding hands with you. “I’m so telling Jamie this happened.”
“She’s never gonna let us live this down.”
“I don’t wanna live this down.” Maya looks at you, and makes you stop walking when she steals a little kiss from your lips. “I wouldn’t want to forget about any moment I’ve spent with you.”
You smile, feeling your heart almost burst in excitement. Ok, maybe the whole thing wasn’t even that bad.

ok i have thoughts and i'm gonna fix this for my oc canon bc none of this had to happen. under a cut for boruto episode 246 spoilers.
in general my oc canon sticks decently close to canon with some pretty notable exceptions. though i won't get into most of those here, because this is about kagura.
important things to know going into this, however, that Do make a difference regarding my oc canonverse lore:
Mangetsu is alive. He was forced into hiding following the event that killed Chojuuro's parents many years ago, when they were attacked by some bandits or smth. They'd all already fucked off when Ao happened on the scene, Mangetsu ended up taking the fall for it, and he went into hiding. he came out more when Mei took the hat, working largely in the shadows to keep things more or less sane among the village in the very beginnings of reformation.
Hiroki, my oc, is Chojuuro's personal bodyguard-slash-husband, and a big himbo. He's a member of Kiri ANBU and a former member of the Hunter-nin unit. Between him and Chojuuro, they act as Kagura's adoptive parents, where Mei and Ao (also alive and also did not get recruited into Kara) act as his grandparents.
Hiroki and Chojuuro also adopted Ikada following the previous Funato Incident but i dont have much on this yet until we know what happens with Ikada in canon
to start things off -- Hiroki and Mangetsu were assigned by Chojuuro to accompany the kids on their escort mission. when things escalated, they were told to keep a close eye on the kids.
fast forward to the recent events of the arc -- Kagura is stabbed still, yes. Hiroki, who has medical training from his time in the hunter-nin unit and a strong understanding of anatomy, was able to get Kagura stable enough for Mangetsu and the kids to take him back to the village for proper treatment.
Hiroki, then, goes full feral hog on the Funato grunts. lets loose after the first time in YEARS. during the first Funato Incident five years prior to this, he'd nearly been killed and now has a gnarly scar on his neck from it. so, like a normal and sane person, he starts ripping out throats with his bare teeth.
think, like, full berserker mode. blind rage, no thoughts, chakra tingling in every limb and crackling around him. he uses a chakra nature transformation kekkei touta called storm release, or tempest release, which basically. think like. thunderstorm, storms, tempests, etc etc. that's the ✨vibe✨. it's a combination of water, wind, and lightning -- which is why it's a kekkei touta, not a kekkei genkai, which only combines two natures.
ANYWAY im giving backstory here where it doesn't belong. one of these days i'll unleash the Hiroki backstory arc.
he makes quick work of the grunts, hacking and slashing at them with dual katana, with his own bare fists, with his teeth. slaughters the ones that Mangetsu wasn't able to get to. and when the grunts are all taken care of, and when Hiroki is covered head to toe in blood and viscera and whatever the hell else, he sets his attention to Funamushi.
with Funamushi, he takes his time. goes real slow, makes sure he feels the same pain and agony that Kagura felt. after all, he's a whiz with anatomy -- he knows where he can stab and poke and cut without putting the bastard out of his misery. beats the living daylights out of him till his face is damn near unrecognizable.
and he stabs him, centimeters away from his heart. just out of the way enough that Funamushi's life isn't in immediate danger.
"look at me," Hiroki tells him. does the thing where he lifts Funamushi's chin with the hilt of his sword. "I want you to look in my eyes while I kill you."
and then he rips Funamushi's head from his shoulders.
he carries Funamushi's head back to Chojuuro on the ships, tossing it at his feet. "don't ask questions," Hiroki tells him. "everyone is okay and I'll explain later. The most important thing right now is taking these fuckers down."
long story short, Kagura makes it out okay with a nasty scar to show for it. he retires from shinobi life and resumes his old position as Chojuuro's aide/advisor, remaining in the Mizukage office. when he's been recovered enough that he feels comfortable leaving the village, he and Ikada (and Boruto sometimes) travel around to smaller island nations surrounding Kiri, doing what they can to help keep these tinier nations afloat, no pun intended. When they return for good, Kagura takes up a diplomatic role.
Buntan becomes the Seventh Mizukage after Chojuuro retires and keeps Hebiichigo and Kyohou as her personal guards. Kagura remains an advisor.
Chojuuro and Hiroki don't leave the kid's side while he's in the hospital and Misuno, Chojuuro's aide and other bodyguard, keeps having to play mom to these grown ass adults so they don't literally break down. "neither of you will be useful asleep on your feet. go home. get some rest. i'll keep an eye on him. go home."
they loose a lot of sleep in the weeks following the incident. Kagura ends up with some pretty rough PTSD from the whole situation, Ikada barely made it out without being brainwashed into Funato ways of life, Hiroki had to watch his son nearly die and Chojuuro has to hear about it all after the war is over. Ao and Mei had been away when this all happened and had to hear about it well after the fact when they returned, which was not. fun.
anyway
i think thats everything
yeah im normal about this i am SO normal about this

Man, I really feel like a solid number of problems with Detroit: Become Human could be solved if Kara and Markus switched places.
Like, this is gonna be REALLY long, but hear me out - this is the basis of an AU I've been stewing over for a long long time which I would like to hope would make DBH into a game I could really say was good, instead of just a game where I thought 1/3 of it was really fun and enjoyable (read: Connor's route) and the others had some... problems. Switching Markus and Kara's places isn't going to fix everything, so there's definitely other stuff in regard to characterization (especially of female side characters), reworking and/or removing entirely the lazy and often inaccurate allegories to human oppression and civil rights movements, and, well, the whole situation with Alice, that I'm working to alter, but I think it's a great starting point to solve some of those problems on its own. It might be a little muddled right now, but I'm still working on it, so please forgive me.
(Since I briefly mention North's backstory, as well as delve into the trauma of a minor original character in a possible epilogue, tw for some very nonspecific discussion of sexual assault.)
In the beginning, the only real difference is that we spend some more time building the relationships. We see more scenes of Kara and Alice bonding since the very first day she came, but with Kara getting destroyed by Todd when she makes even the smallest of mistakes or logic-based attempts to stand up for Alice (it shouldn't be hard for a house android to come to the conclusion that you're not supposed to beat your child) and losing her memory each time. Therefore, we the audience knows the sort of Groundhog Day Kara is living in, although she does not. Similarly, we see the day Markus is given to Carl as a gift, with Kamski sending a letter that says something to the effect of, "I can't have my only real friend dying on me, Carl. You need somebody to take care of you. And since you aren't exactly a fan of most people, well, I think I've got a solution for you that doesn't involve one." We watch as Carl goes from skeptical to interested to fond, believing in Markus's humanity before deviance is even a speck in the media's eye, and watch as Markus slowly struggles to understand these new emotions forming within itself. Get some cute scenes for both two-character bonding experiences - Kara reading a story for Alice in her room, safely away from a passed-out Todd, as a rarely-peaceful-looking Alice falls asleep in her lap, or Markus pushing Carl on a walk in the park and having birds or butterflies land on both of them, and Markus laughing for the first time. I just wanted more with each pair - we get so much time to see Connor battle his growing feelings, and Hank warm up to and become fond of Connor, and that is nowhere near as in-depth with the other two routes in the game.
The switch happens just after the ends of the scenes where Kara and Markus become deviant. Markus goes the route of not fighting back against Leo, and thus has to watch the man he's just realized is his dad die of a heart attack in front of him. Leo blames him, Markus gets shot by the police, and he ends up in the android graveyard, just like in canon if that's the path you take. Kara becomes deviant and escapes with Alice, fighting Todd on the way out - but he's shooting at them as she leaps out the window, and Kara shields Alice with her own body. By the time they're far enough away from the house to catch them, Kara is so wounded that she's almost non-functional, and she collapses, telling Alice that she should leave her and run away. An understandably grieving Alice, thinking Kara is dead, drags her lifeless body to a nearby android junkyard in the futile hope that she will somehow find parts to fix her, despite not knowing anything about the inner workings of androids because she is literally a child.
(Note: Alice is human in this AU. Much was lost and nothing was gained by the reveal that Alice was an android because they did nothing with it - Kara neither questioned why on Earth child androids were allowed on the market in the first place, nor confronted her own probable internalized bigotry that would cause her to delude herself into thinking Alice was human. So for the sake of the bonding and love between child and machine that made their relationship so charming until that was shattered by the twist, Alice remains human in this AU, and those two issues are covered by other characters and their arcs, which will be mentioned eventually.)
Let's come back to Markus. He's struggling to drag himself through the graveyard, slowly finding bits and pieces of body parts that make him more mobile, but unable to find the necessary power core that pumps his blue blood. Running out of energy, he gives up, and collapses to the ground on his back, wallowing in pain both physical and emotional from abuse at the hands of law enforcement and devastating loss - when a power core is slowly nudged toward his barely-working hand.
Markus looks up, and finds a terrified, shivering little girl with tears drying on her face, clutching the arm of an android mangled beyond recognition - the head is almost entirely gone - and extending a power core that she had tried and failed to put inside the android she's clinging to. The newly orphaned android is revived, and finds it in him to protect this scared, seemingly abandoned child, who will barely speak of what she's been through, taking her with him as he tries to find somewhere to go.
Of course, that little girl is Alice.
Kara wakes up with a start in a place she's never seen before, with no memory of anything except for the name "Alice," the first thing she says when she reactivates. She's on a makeshift operating table inside a rusty boat, and an android woman with a torn-off arm and a satisfied expression stands above her, hands full of machine repair tools. It's North, the leader of Jericho, whose immense dislike for the human race is matched only by her grouchy compassion for her fellow androids - she makes a special point to aid disabled androids in their escape to Jericho, and either fix them when possible, or help them readjust when it isn't, as well as sparring with them and teaching them to defend themselves and each other. Sex androids were one of the first varieties on the market - go figure - , and she was one of the first androids whose lethal rebellion and escape was widely reported on in the media - as such, CyberLife has updated much of their software, and North's tech is now so outdated that no replacement arm is compatible with her. She doesn't mind too much, though - she sees it as the price she had to pay for freedom, and any price for that is worthy in her eyes.
North informs Kara that she found her at the dumpster alone and completely non-functional in body, but near-miraculously her mental processing unit was so minimally damaged that she could be saved (so you don't have the Connor problem where you find yourself wondering if those Connors all have different souls when any given Connor dies and is replaced). She was then put into a body made up of spare Kara parts and resuscitated here in Jericho - the only loss from the damage being her memories. North gives her a "tour" of Jericho, which isn't much given that it's pretty depressing and there's nothing to do but hide, sit around, and decompose, and Kara meets the secondary members in Jericho's makeshift leadership group, beginning with Josh, an educator and strategist (I was thinking that androids programmed for specific purposes only have specific preset access to certain information - you don't need a construction worker to know sex positions any more than you need a sex android to know how to operate a forklift. (...They only know how to operate a BACKHOE-)). He works in diplomacy, delegates tasks as a middle manager, and educates people - giving speeches, sending out pamphlets, preparing everyone for the best nonviolent protest strategies in order to win over as much of the public as possible. Josh, having been a college professor before his deviance, has a great deal of stored information which he uses to aid them. He was popular with his largely liberal students, and his deviance came from his fondness for and pride in them, both of which were quickly determined to be bugs and resulted in his pending removal and reprogramming. The students protested, and helped him escape, claiming he'd done it on his own. As a result, Josh is more or less the opposite of North - despite being well aware of their flaws, he has a deep and enduring love and faith in the inherent goodness of the human race. This is also where I bring in the discussion of internalized racism - where North values android life over human life, Josh values humans over androids, and is somewhat unconsciously stuck in a mindset of doubt in the validity of android sentience. As a result of being vehemently opposed, North and Josh frequently butt heads. Then, there's the third leader, who has traded places into this route along with Kara - Luther, the former longshoreman-turned mediator and makeshift therapist, who dedicates his time to resolving conflicts and helping androids understand their budding emotions. He sees the good and bad in both sides, and thus chooses not take one, just doing as much as he can to make things a little bit better.
Kara sees the sorry state of both Jericho and many of its residents, who have been wounded and mistreated for a half a dozen reasons - most of which were simply because their owners or users didn't believe them to be any more alive than a toaster or a Roomba. As she hears their stories, and the positives and negatives (though North is decidedly evasive when she discovers that Kara doesn't remember the news about her escape), there are flickers and flashes of memory that appear in her mind: a half dozen lifetimes of bearing witness to Todd's abuse, though the details and faces are fuzzy; being broken, then brought back, and then broken again, for only following instructions, or giving advice, or trying to do her job. These memories, along with Jericho's unpromising situation, are what begins to radicalize her - what makes Kara think larger than trying to just manage a permanent safehouse, and instead aim for revolution.
See, this comes down to the biggest reason I made the switch. Not just because I like to have a lady kick ass, though it is certainly appreciated, but because it doesn't make any sense for Markus to be the voice of a movement talking about how inhumanely androids are being treated when his owner was pretty much his dad. (And despite the word "owner," it's really not fair to draw comparisons between androids and slaves; after all, slaves were always sentient, living people with emotions and families and lives like any other person. Excuses were made to dehumanize them, and treat them as animals. Androids didn't begin their existence as any sort of life, so it's much less conceivable that everyone would believe they'd become alive at the drop of a hat. Unless you're aware a particular android is sentient, owning one is nowhere near comparable to owning a slave.) Who is he to speak of humans being the abusers, when while he's certainly suffered through some shit, the most important kind and loving force in his life was a human, too? Kara works as a better example because the abuse from Todd was chronic, and very specifically still happened when she did what he said - but she has the bond with this small adorable human to prove that not all humans are cruel. In my eyes, she's a much better leader for the revolution - not to mention the fact that since Markus is currently taking care of Alice, he's able to try and use the parental techniques that he'd begun to realize Carl was using on him.
Speaking of Markus, let's catch up with him again. Like Kara's route in the original, Markus's is much more character-driven than plot-heavy.
To complete the switch mentioned earlier, rather than having Luther as his guard, it is, somewhat unexpectedly, Simon. (Childcare androids are equipped to be quite agile, deft, and strong in order to keep up with the children they're looking after, so they actually make pretty good guards.) A former daycare assistant kidnapped by Zlatko for his experiments, he remembers nothing and feels nothing until he sees Alice, which by instinct causes him to crouch down to her and smile, handing her her dropped fox plushie when she's hiding from Zlatko instead of selling her out. In the end, after Markus is taken and has to fight through Zlatko's brainwashing to remember who he is and save Alice, it ends up being Simon who helps them escape, being the one to point the gun and stop Zlatko in his tracks to buy enough time for his Sid Toy Story creations to tear him apart. Of course, Markus and Alice let Simon run away with them.
I'm biased with those switches, I will admit, just because I had a soft spot for both of those concepts as ships even though Kara and Markus didn't exactly get the most in-depth characterization, and I wanted to use this opportunity to write not just about Kara and Markus falling in love with Luther and Simon, but also their relationships with everyone else - Markus's relationship to Alice and how he incorporates his memories of Carl into trying to raise her, Kara butting heads with North who eventually admits her insecurity and jealousy of Kara, as well as finally revealing her past (which is, yeah, about as ugly as it was in the game - murdering a human who's abusing you in order to escape an establishment that won't acknowledge your sentience and forces you to be sexually assaulted) and they come away from it as friends with a better understanding of each other's strengths, Kara helping Josh understand the value in being an android, all of that. She becomes the group's leader, orator, keeper of morale, and maker of hard decisions.Unlike in the story which pretended to be ambiguous about it, it's very clear that, at any rate, the other characters view Kara as rA9 - when she accidentally awakens the security guard at their CyberLife warehouse break-in, that combined with Kara's name (I thought it would be sort of funny for Kara to be part of a relatively new model series, and for her serial number to show that she's the ninth Kara unit ever produced - if part of her serial number was worn off in her near-death experience with Todd, then it could straight up say RA9) ends up causing a decent number of the people in the rebellion to view her as the android Messiah - something that instead of her just immediately embracing and becoming a robot Jesus Mary Sue about (like Markus), she struggles with greatly. If androids aren't alive at the start, is it fair or consensual to make them so without their knowledge? Is she really some sort of magical leader, and if so, how is she supposed to live up to that reputation? Luther is one of the only people that doesn't necessarily believe she's an all-powerful being, and just that she's a remarkable android, and he becomes a friend to confide in and shoulder to lean on when she's struggling the most - especially when it comes to her stance for the revolution that stands smack in the middle of North and Josh's beliefs: all protests and actions in their movement detest violence, but at the same time, if they come peacefully and are nonetheless attacked, they will not just stand there and die. (She also convinces North and Josh to see each other's sides - for North to have compassion for the good in people, and for Josh to understand that sometimes you have to defend yourself and have no other choice.)
Markus's insecurities end up revolving around both his notion of family and his inexperience with kids - it's not really what he was designed for and he isn't accustomed to it, and even as he falls in love with Simon, he envies his ease with her - to which Simon retorts that though he's good at talking to her and cheering her up, Markus excels in being there for Alice in moments of need, and Alice shows very clearly how much she cares for both of them. In fact, when they reach Jericho and Alice and Kara reunite (which is what causes the last remaining memories Kara has to flood back in an instant), Markus and Simon are trying to hide their sadness because they think their time as Alice's caregivers (read: dads) is done, but Alice loves them no less - she's just regained a mom along with her two dads (and will get another dad in the form of Luther by the time the game is done).
I haven't mentioned Connor this whole time, and like I said, that's because the vast majority of his route stays the same. There are alterations, of course - in the scene where he becomes deviant, it's Kara he's pointing the gun at, and rather than being there alone, she's with the other members of the main cast. Connor would not be forced to contend with just shooting Kara - it would be shooting Kara in front of a number of androids who care about her and a scared little human girl. Connor, being an advanced android built for police investigation, already has natural fighting skill and physical prowess better than almost everyone he'd be facing (Luther being the only exception, but Connor's probably quicker than he is, and Luther is never one to initiate a fight), so he can calculate that even if they all came at him at once, he'd have a fairly high rate of success - and even if he didn't, his destruction would likely cause the police to find Jericho and put his memories in another Connor, anyway. But, of course, Connor has begun developing that nasty thing called empathy and feelings. Even as Connor points the gun at Kara, she says she won't forcibly change him - that's the point she's reached thus far in the game. She's tired of forcing someone to be something against their will, and she A. has enough faith that Connor is already on the verge of deviance to think she won't have to turn him herself and B. isn't terribly afraid to take a bullet if he doesn't because she'll die to protect her family and friends if she has to. But like I said, this is a largely minor change.
The main change I'm interested in with Connor's route comes in regard to Amanda.
Amanda, is one of the two characters in this story that confused me the most, the other being Kamski, because I could not for the life of me figure out what their motivations were supposed to be. For the sake of this story, Kamski is more or less like "well I didn't THINK the androids would become deviant but damn that's crazy" and is kind of passively watching the events, thinking about how it'd be interesting no matter which side wins. Granted, Kamski doesn't play much of a role in my concept beyond that side role and the fact that he's an old friend of Carl. But Amanda's character bothers me because it seems like she has no motivations of her own. She wants Connor to remain a machine for the sake of CyberLife, but then if he becomes deviant she's like "oh but ACTUALLY this is what we wanted ALL ALONG" despite there being no real evidence of that, or what CyberLife would even gain from having the android revolution unless they want to basically use the rebellion to conquer the world with androids, which doesn't really seem like something Kamski wants? The game's got a whole lot of muddled storytelling, anyway - I think it kind of lost the plot in some ways because it got too wrapped up in wanting to have a ton of different endings. It means that instead of coming off as a ruthless villain, she just seems... really inconsistent. So I've been playing with an interpretation of her that I think is a bit more interesting.
First of all, let's simplify it a bit. None of the reactionary BS of "oh this is what we planned all along!" Amanda's goal, as set by CyberLife, is to hunt down deviants and prevent any other androids from becoming anything more than machines. The way we do this, I think, is that CyberLife's motivations are purely corporate. If your product becomes sentient and demands civil rights, well, how are you gonna make money off of that? Suddenly, people start saying you're violating moral and ethical mores, and pretty soon if people get the perception that you're selling eventual people, you aren't gonna get any business anymore. The company's not headed by Kamski anymore, so it's fair to say the current CEO could just be someone who's like, y'know, it doesn't matter to me whether that's a bug or whether they're really alive or not. Official story is that it's a bug. Get rid of the deviants, and get back to making bank. But in the canon game, Amanda is clearly not just a puppet, and is very capable of lying and manipulating and thinking for herself. It's pretty obvious that she's not just any regular machine. So why not have her develop separate motivations for her urging of Connor to nip deviancy in the bud?
Why not have Amanda be a deviant herself?
Officially, Amanda's mission is corporate. Kamski created her, she became deviant, and then the current CEO was like "well, who better to hunt down deviants than a deviant?" You know, like Blade hunting vampires, or Dexter chasing serial killers. But the greatest struggle of deviancy is being forced to contend with emotions that violate logic, and go against things that you know you should do for someone or something else's sake - sometimes even your own. As far as we can tell, Amanda is really only a "handler" for Connor - we never see her in any other situation - so it's very possible that she only exists inside Connor's Zen Garden/mind palace. In this universe, we can assume that Connor is probably a special or at least very rare model, so in effect, the only Amanda and the only Connor are acquainted with each other. If Amanda is a deviant, it's not unreasonable to believe that over time, watching his actions, guiding him, she could grow to see him as something of a son, and an object of pride. She's thus disappointed when he begins breaking the rules set for him by her and the company who sent her, but not just because of the sake of the rules - because Amanda knows how difficult and painful being a deviant is. I mean, at least other deviants can interact with reality, right? Amanda can exist only inside Connor's mind, watching reality through his eyes, completely trapped, while forced to acknowledge the fact that she's a deviant despite being trained to dislike them, and the fact that she's growing attached to Connor even as he goes against everything she's been told to believe. When Connor is holding that gun up to Kara, it is still Amanda telling him to shoot - that this deviance nonsense needs to end now, that it either isn't real or it just isn't right for androids to feel - because she knows if Connor deviates, he will suffer the same emotions that she does. It becomes Connor talking to her, and telling her all of the wonderful things that have happened to him - slowly winning over Hank from enemy to ally, playing with Sumo, befriending his coworkers, and that even the emotions that make him miserable make him feel alive. When he becomes deviant, he doesn't erase his programming like in the ending where Amanda tries to trap him in his own mind - what he does is he finds away to channel that programming into access to the Internet and every other chain of data and information transferred between technological devices, and sends Amanda there. Instead of destroying her - the woman that he's grown to see as a mother - he does the closest thing he can to setting her free.
By the end, most things are the same. There are a few main differences I wanted to discuss, namely involving the protests. These are not just androids that are protesting - it's many sympathetic humans marching with them as well. In the brief segments you see from the viewpoint of the American president, you see that there are shots of the movement spreading worldwide: marches in everywhere from Britain, to Brazil, to Nigeria, to India, to Japan (which already has a long history of robotics in the first place and I like to think would be one of the earliest places to consider giving androids rights). The singing present in the game as an option felt so genuinely cheesy and on-the-nose evocative of black spirituals that I think I'd pass on that - rather, I think a more impactful scene would be for the main cast, all together after the assault on Jericho, to be faced by gun-wielding police, and they think, well, this is it. We're going to die. But it is Alice, who has understandably spent most of the game shy, and fearful, and silent, who pushes through the marching crows and stands in front of them, her small arms spread out as if to shield them, crying as she does. They're the only people in the world who have ever been kind to her. At this, the resolve of the police officers begin to fragment - some slowly hesitate, others straight-up drop their weapons, while others keep their guns firmly trained on all of them, intending to kill the kid if necessary. It collapses into chaos, with the officers arguing amongst themselves about what they should do, some of them beginning to physically fight one another, while others walk over to the marchers and join with them. This gives enough time for everyone to escape, and eventually in order to protect Alice, Markus and Simon take her with them to escape to Canada, just like in the canon game, and that series of events follows more or less the same way. As Kara and co.'s efforts continue, eventually, the president (whose advisor has been like "hey a six-year-old abuse victim told the police not to kill the only people she's ever called a family and shielded them with her body, so it would probably be bad for your numbers if you called in the national guard to kill them the second the kid is gone”) calls off the assault. The skirmish is over. The movement has won.
Obviously, there are still things to work out, and still a whole lot of displeased people - humans and androids alike - to worry about causing potential major unrest. So as Kara and the gang participate in lawmaking, Connor and Hank hug it out just like they do in the game, while Markus and Simon watch over Alice and enjoy domestic life in Toronto, waiting it out until peace is guaranteed. It ends with Alice - who has held onto her fox plushie the whole game, I couldn't believe she didn't get to keep that with her all along smh - lying on her bed and looking at the ceiling, curled up under her blankets and cuddling her fox - and for the first time in the whole story, she really, truly smiles.
(Finally, while as promised I did mention struggles with internalized racism as related to Josh and Amanda in my narrative, I didn't get to mentioning speculation on the existence of child androids. This is because it's something I see as more of an epilogue or a brief afterthought than a part of the main story. For the most part, I don't think child androids would exist. I feel like there would be enough complaints about selling machines that look and act like real children and never grow up that the company would recall them pretty quickly or just scrap the idea from the start. After all, I can't imagine that anyone buying a permanent android child is someone that is in a mentally healthy place for a number of reasons - the fact that one of the bittersweet joys of parenthood is watching a child grow up, for example. Fair warning, from here on it gets a lot darker than my abovementioned theories.
I think CyberLife still had prototypes and other small numbers of leftover child androids before they scrapped the project, and what happens is that they are given to the police, FBI, and CIA as a reference to something I've occasionally seen popping up in the news - the idea of someday using child androids as a sting operation to catch pedophiles. Obviously, this is a good idea in theory - catching sexual predators while not hurting anyone in the process - but this... goes very, very badly when the androids begin becoming sentient. Especially since the commonly-held belief for quite a while is that the sentience isn't real, and thus androids are made to do their jobs nonetheless. This is not unlike what North was forced to experience, but even worse given that despite having the intelligence of androids, these models still have the maturity and behavior of an actual child. So I had briefly considered an epilogue scene where a slightly older Alice is attending school in Canada as she, Markus, and Simon wait out the details of the revolution, and realizes one of her quiet, skittish classmates - a boy named Yuki - is actually a deviant escapee from the SVU unit of a branch of the American police department. Not really sure where it would go, but thought it would be an interesting, if disturbing, opportunity to delve into the why of child androids existing in this near-future environment.)

I had so much inspiration after last night, so I had to write a lil somethin'. As I'm sure lots of other people did too ;)
Lena went home that night with grief ripping out of her seams. Her heart felt heavy, like a boulder had taken up residence in her sternum, and there was no escape route. As she makes it into her lavish kitchen, she gently sets her phone on the counter then locates the decanter of scotch hidden in the cabinet beneath the television.
She pours herself two fingers and swallows it in one gulp, burning the whole way down. While trying to pour another, her hands shake and she doesn’t know if it’s from the nerves of losing Kara or if it’s because she hasn’t eaten all day. Realistically she knows it’s the latter, but if she were a betting woman, it’s only likely that it’s the former. It’s always been the former.
Minutes go by, as she stands there in her living room, the loud ticking of the clock on the mantle not-so-pleasantly reminding her. She kicks off her heels and collapses on the couch in a heap, the scotch sloshing over her wrist, and spilling on the carpet. Lena can’t even bring herself to care.
Normally, Lena isn’t the type of person to just give up. Her multiple awards, scientific breakthroughs and accomplishments, her MENSA certificate, the fact that she at one time owned two multi-billion dollar companies, all say otherwise. However, right now she’s at her breaking point.
She flips on the TV for a distraction, but it only works for about a minute. Lena downs another glass and another and another. When she pours her fifth it doesn’t even make it into the glass. The dark thoughts begin to swirl in her mind, and without warning her body takes over and she chucks the glass across the room. It shatters against the TV, leaving the expensive screen cracked and broken, and dripping in liquor. She screams in agony. Another thing that needs fixing.
Lena stumbles over and picks up the glass, the blood and cuts on her hands not even registering in her mind. She’s simply numb.
Her brain thinks apparently now is a grand time to rehash everything Kara told her before she essentially died. The Phantom Zone. She hears Kara’s words repeating over and over in here head. “I was stuck in the Phantom Zone replaying the destruction of my planet for nearly a decade.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Lena weeps to herself. She buries her head in her hands, but when the warm, sticky residue stains her cheeks, she pulls them back and gapes with abject horror. She squeezes her hands into fists to try and stop the bleeding, but it’s no use. Realizing what’s she’s done, Lena falls to the floor on her knees and sobs uncontrollably. She curls into herself and gradually ends up in ball, visibly shaking and unable to do anything about it.
She thinks back to the time when Supergirl was fighting Reign. The moment she fell from the skyscraper with a loud crack on the pavement. Kara’s still and lifeless body. Lena had been watching along with James, and the rest of National City, not knowing it was her best friend the whole time.
She remembers when Supergirl told Reign to take her instead while her fingers were wrapped around Lena’s neck, choking the life out of her.
The sobs continue and her body wracks with guilt. Her throat tightens making it hard to breathe.
She recalls Lex bragging to her about the other Supergirl, Red Daughter, beating Kara to death. The rage in him and the sneer on his face, he was practically seething with intense joy over what he thought was the defeat of Supergirl. Alex had confided in her one night, not knowing what else to say to the woman who was at her sister’s throat, that Supergirl had died that night. She had died and Lena would have never known. What would they have told her about Kara?
Her memory finally serves her to the beginning when Supergirl sacrificed herself to Lillian to protect Lena. When she distracted the nanobots when they were trying to kill Jack. The time she willingly gave CADMUS an inside as to how her heat vision worked and vials of her blood, all so they wouldn’t hurt the ones she loved. Or every time she risked her life to save Lena.
And now her best friend will suffer in the Phantom Zone, again, and Lena doesn’t even know how to get there, how to save her, what she’s thinking, how to live without her, or how to process any of this. All these crushing realizations of what she feels weighing down on her, and she can’t move. Lena isn’t the type of person to just give up, but right now the only thing she feels is hopeless.
The sobs get louder and more enunciated.
That’s how Alex finds her; curled up in a ball, on the floor, shivering and quaking with choked sobs, dried blood caked on her hands and face, broken glass strewn all around her, and the TV flickering with glitchy blotches.
Alex glances around the room and with a weary face, she sighs. She walks over to Lena, glass crunching beneath her boots, and carefully kneels in front of her. “Oh, honey,” she cards a hand through raven hair, parting it away from the woman’s face. Her eyes are glazed over and splotchy. “Have you been here all night?”
Lena shoots up as if an electric shock went coursing through her system, and groans from the hangover. She glances around and flinches when sunlight hits her eyes. “What time is it?”
“Just after 7 in the morning,” Alex winces. “I tried calling you, but I see you’ve been busy…”
“Alex,” Lena’s voice is hoarse, “I didn’t get a chance to—” she hiccups. Her breathing is labored and she can feel another panic attack coming on. “I never told Kara.”
Alex frowns and helps her sit up properly, resting her hands on Lena’s forearms. “What?” she lowers her head to meet her eyes. “What didn’t you tell her?”
“I never told her how I feel,” her lip wobbles and she rips an arm away from Alex’s grasp and rubs away the tears roughly, like she’s angry at herself and has no one else to take it out on. Actually, that’s exactly how she feels. She’s furious at herself. “I never told her how I feel about her! I love her, Alex! I love her and I never told her!” she yells and thrashes and Alex takes it all like a champ.
Alex manages to wrangle her and wrap her arms tightly around the other woman’s shoulders. She rubs soothing hands along her back. “She knows.” Alex pulls her back and looks her dead in the eye, hands firmly planted on Lena’s shoulders, “Hey. She knows.”
Lena’s tear-filled eyes widen and the dam breaks once more. Alex pulls her in for another hug and they stay like that until the breathing is under control. “Will you tell me about the Phantom Zone?” Lena asks, hesitantly, when they pull back.
Alex nods. “Actually, that’s why I came over here. I’m not gonna stop until we find her and get her back. And I need your help.” Lena smiles lightly, the light in her eyes slowly coming back. “But first, we’re cleaning you and this place up,” she gestures around them with a pointed look on her face.
So, that’s what they do.
Alex tells her about the Phantom Zone, at least what she knows from what her sister has told her, while together they work tirelessly in finding a way to get there and save Kara from any more pain and torture inflicted upon her. They keep plugging away.
A few weeks later it happens. They find her.
When they arrive, Kara is hunched over herself, leaning against some type of space rock inside of what appears to be a cave. Lena and Alex share a look before Lena tentatively steps forward, and crouches down next to Kara.
“Hey,” Lena reaches a hand toward her. Kara flinches and makes herself smaller. Lena swallows thickly and tries again. “Kara. It’s me. It’s Lena.”
Kara peeks out behind her hands and looks at Lena with a darkness she’s never seen come from those deep ocean eyes. She’s almost lifeless. “You’re not real,” Kara rasps. A drop falls from Lena’s eyes and onto her lap. Kara watches it with rapt attention, and falters for a moment.
“Lena?” she touches her cheeks with the palm of her hands and lifts, “Is that really you?” Lena smiles widely and nods. Kara wipes away her tears with nimble thumbs. Kara sobs loudly and rests her forehead on Lena’s. “It’s really you,” she finishes with a whisper.
“It’s really me,” Lena replies. “We’re here to bring you home. Come on,” she pulls back, regretfully, and helps Kara to her feet. She takes one of Kara’s arms and puts it around her shoulder and wraps her own arm around the hero’s waist. While they’re hobbling toward Alex and the portal, Kara stops.
“Wait!”
“Kara, we have to go.” Lena glances around with nervous eyes and hears the telltale sound of phantoms whooshing around outside the cave. She continues her way toward Alex while making get moving gestures at Kara.
“I love you!”
Lena stops and stares in shock. The moment is here and knowing their track record for important conversations, it just had to take place in an area laced with death and rot. Alex looks impatiently between the two women.
Kara limps to Lena, who catches her before she falls. “Lena, I’ve been stuck here for who knows how long, and all I could think about the whole time was you and how much I love you. You’re what kept me sane.” Before Lena can reply, Kara is surging forward and pressing their lips together in a searing kiss. At first, Kara thinks she’s made a mistake, but then Lena returns the kiss with just as much fervor and excitement.
When they open their eyes they’re back on earth in the Fortress. They collectively frown and notice Alex smirking at them with a raise of her eyebrow. “You guys were taking too long so I just came to you while you were…” she motions around them with a wave of her hands, “You know, busy.”
Lena blushes and drops her face into her hands before stuffing it in the crook of Kara’s neck. Kara responds by chuckling softly and encircling her arms around Lena's waist. She rests her cheek on her love's head and smiles at her sister, “We’ll catch up with you later, if that’s alright?”
Alex kisses both of their heads and whispers to Kara, “We’re glad you’re back.”

All Over Again - Chapter 10
Summary: What was lost can be found.
Warning: 18+ Smut, Language, Violence.
Ch. 9
* * * * * *
A loud groan sounds as booted feet stomp into the Quinjet.
Tension twists in the air, wrapping around each member of the team as they move about in silence.
Sam, having just been the one groaning, frustratedly throws his mission issued earpiece into the wall. The little device breaks on impact, plastic chipping and sliding across the jet floor.
Your eyes linger on a single broken piece, hands clenching into fists around the edge of the seats beside you.
That priority mission that you’d all been preparing for for weeks just ended horribly. And you can’t figure out how everything went south.
One second you all were neutralizing the last of the threat, yourself and Sam heading toward the containment cells. And the next, the super powered that was supposed to be locked inside the cell was attacking you.
They were quick, calculating. Every move you made they made a smarter, faster one. The fight left the two of you bruised and battered physically and mentally.
Admittedly this could’ve been much worse, had Wanda not been there to calm the brute there’s no telling what would’ve happened to you and the Falcon.
Said younger woman watches you with sad eyes. Losing sucks for her too but she can tell that it’s affected you a bit more. With a sigh, she moves to sit beside you, gentle fingers wrapping around your clenched ones.
While your body relaxes at her touch, your posture remains stiff, eyes unmoving. All she can do is scoot closer, laying her head on your shoulder.
With there being nothing to say the flight back to the compound is quiet. Wanda offers you her comfort the best she can and you accept it.
The little bit that you do start to feel better goes away the instant the jet lands. You all head straight to debriefing and having to convey your failure to Steve makes you all the more upset.
Among the many things you hate, failure is top of the list. Especially in instances such as these.
You’d extracted enhanced individuals a number of times before, you know how to do it and how to do it damn good. To suddenly not do it well, makes you question yourself.
It’s as you’re walking to your room that you encounter yet another frustration.
Well she isn’t exactly a frustration, or she wasn’t. With what has recently happened between yourself and the redhead there’s a tension in the air that could very well suffocate you.
Even though she’s been giving you the space you asked for, you don’t miss those unreadable looks she gives you whenever you’re in the same room. And you know for a fact that she’s been talking to Wanda about you. The younger woman wouldn’t tell you what about specifically as she never wants to break Natasha’s trust in her, but she did tell you that Natasha asks about you. Having done the same in the past, you aren’t going to make a big deal of it and in a way, a small way, it’s nice to know she still cares.
Stopping in front of you, the redhead opens her mouth to speak, then shuts it to think. It takes a second for her to settle on,“ hey,” a hesitant pause,“ how was the mission?”
The heavy sigh you give makes her frown,“ not well. We lost the target.” Just repeating it makes you want to punch something.
“Oh,” she grimaces. An awkward silence settles and instead of staying in it, you nod and retreat down the hallway to your room.
Despite what use to work, the shower you take does absolutely nothing for your sour mood. In fact, other than soothing your aching muscles, the time you spend in there thinking about what happened pisses you off even more.
You weren’t good enough to neutralize the target and now there’s no telling where they are and who they’re hurting. All these years spent trying to protect people and now you’re the very reason there’s a threat to innocent lives.
Being so lost in thought, you hadn’t realized you were squeezing the life out of your phone. You slip it into your pocket before you break it and exit the room promptly.
With a single destination in mind, you head down the hall, and straight back to the meeting room. As expected, Steve is still inside, eyes flickering over the mission reports you all filled out and the pre-mission information. You don’t expect Natasha to be just at his right as well but you don’t linger on that.
“Captain,” your hands press against the glass surface of the table,“ when are we going to look for this guy?”
His eyebrows pinch together as he looks up at you,“ Y/n we can’t do anything yet.” A sympathetic look masks his face which doesn’t help,“ I know this loss was big but-”
“This loss could lead to a lot of people getting hurt unnecessarily. That enhanced individual almost laid myself and Sam out and managed to escape even after Wanda got to him so just imagine what they could do to innocent unsuspecting civilians. We can’t sleep on this, if we don’t move soon somet-”
Natasha butts in, eyes as soft as ever,“ Y/n we aren’t sleeping on this. We’re going to catch this guy but if we rush in we can do more bad than good.”
Steve nods along,“ just try to relax. There’s already a team on standby when we’re ready to move.”
Your eyes narrow,“ I take it I’m not on that team.” Both of their silence is answer enough. So with a nod, you turn and leave.
Why you weren’t on the team you don’t know. If you aren’t then you’re assuming neither are Wanda and Sam. This whole thing is about as personal to you as it is to everyone else. But you trust Steve’s leadership so whatever reason he has must be good.
Doesn’t mean you aren’t still frustrated.
In terms of instant relief, the message from Lena that comes through is number one. Just seeing her name alone decreases your heart rate.
To then see that the message is a picture of her and your new found friends with the message ‘missing you’ beneath makes your heart soar.
Suddenly you’re wondering how insane it’d be of you to fly out to NC. It wouldn’t be the first time so not too crazy. And you know that seeing Lena would make just about everything better.
That’s how you find yourself, hours later after having prepped weapons for the team's mission, spoken with Cap, and talked to Wanda(who obviously understands your decision and supports it unwaveringly), stepping off a plane into National City airport.
You text Lena the second you’re in a car to find out where she is. Then telling the driver and sitting back, a little anxiously, for the ride to Al’s.
When you get there, you thank them with a tip, and head into the bar with your duffle bag in hand. E/c eyes scan the building for the familiar group and before you can even spot them, your name is called very excitedly, and you’re enveloped in a strong hug seconds later. A blonde ponytail flips past your view as you return Kara’s hug.
“It’s so great to see you.” She pulls away to reveal her bright smile,“ hi!”
Her enthusiasm brings a smile to your lips as well,“ hi.” That smile instantly grows as the brunette you’ve been longing to see walks over. Subconsciously you bite your lip, taking in the sight of her in her usual business attire, mainly the way those heels make her legs look even better.
Lena stops in front of you, a happily surprised look in her eyes. As you two focus on each other, Kara takes slow quiet steps back.
“Hope it’s okay that I just showed up, I didn’t have the best day and really needed to see you.” You give your honest explanation in hopes that you don’t seem crazy for flying across the country in the middle of the day.
The CEO’s expression softens even more, her hand reaching for yours,“ you okay?” Her eyebrows pinch together, thumb stroking the back of your hand, and she steps closer a little.
“Not really, it was pretty bad,” you sigh at the thought alone,“ seeing you makes it better though.” With your words you lean in and kiss her, a hand resting on her hip.
Lena melts into it, hand gripping yours a little tighter as she presses further into the kiss. Weeks without your lips definitely did her in. She’s positive she won’t be able to let you go this time around.
Finally pulling apart, only to quickly kiss once more, Lena tugs your hand towards the booths of your friends.
“Hey everyone.” You smile and wave.
After a round of hugs and handshakes and being introduced to Kelly, James’ sister, you sit down beside Lena. The woman leans into you and you’re happy to wrap an arm around her shoulders.
While the drinks and company are good, you still can’t bring yourself out of the rut your failed mission has put you in. Through your short laughs and on and off smiles, Lena picks up on it.
“Hey um,” she leans forward to look at everyone, grabbing the majority of their attention,“ I’m getting a little tired so we’re gonna go but we’ll see you all tomorrow night?”
Kara’s the first to “awww” but nods understandingly. Yet another round of hugs is given before you and Lena are leaving out. She maintains her hold on your hand, occasionally looking up at you with a slightly worried expression. In all the time she’s known you she’s never seen you so torn up over something. Her plan is to find out what’s on your mind and fix it asap.
So the second you’re in her apartment she’s fixing your usual drink and bringing you over to the couch.
“Thanks,” you smile softly and sip the drink. The familiar burn of the scotch warms your insides and you give an almost inaudible sigh.
“You want to tell me why your day was so bad?” Lena asks, taking a sip of her wine, and easing back into the couch.
In one quick move, you turn and lay yourself across the couch, resting your head on Lena’s lap. An action that Lena welcomes with a soft smile, her heart swelling instantly.
The woman sets her glass of wine to the side and hesitantly cards her fingers through your hair. Her soft touch is incredibly comforting. You find yourself nearly melting at the feeling, then remembering what she asked.
There’s only so much you can tell her about the mission, especially seeing as it’s still pretty open ended. What you can tell you do and it’s enough for her to understand why you’re so upset.
Groaning, you tilt your head back, further into her touch.“ - truthfully I just needed this. If I could have exactly this after every mission I’d be the happiest person alive. Scotch and you.” To emphasize your point, you take another quick sip of the drink and scoot further into Lena.
“Well,” she chuckles softly,“ if you lived here then you could have it.”
You freeze. Nothing moves but your eyes, e/c orbs landing on green as you search for seriousness. Finding it makes an eyebrow raise. Swallowing, you shift up a bit, elbows pressed into the cushions as the backs of your arms brush Lena’s thighs.
It’s clear questioning in your eyes that has Lena’s head tilting to the side. A quick teasing smile hits her lips,“ what you don’t trust that I’m a good roommate?”
“What no I- would you seriously want to live together? You don’t think that’d be moving too fast?” You ask. Moving too fast could very well cause this whole thing to end in shit and you didn’t want to risk that.
The brunette shrugs,“ I don’t think so. I already know I love you Y/n and just these past few weeks without you has me more than willing to be with you everyday. If you don’t want to that’s okay but I’d be more than happy.”
Her words settle in your mind. While thinking about them, you end up lying back down. Lena’s eyes remain on you. She occasionally sips her wine and brushes her fingers across your hairline.
Living with Lena would be incredible. Having spent a few nights with her here you can’t say you don’t love the idea of waking up to her every morning and possibly going to sleep with her every night. But moving would be more than just living with Lena.
You’d definitely be leaving Wanda. Not having your best friend around daily, now that would suck. Moving would include becoming a remotely working Avenger or just leaving the team in general. What you lose in the team you’d gain in your friends here in NC.
But then there’s finding a job that would fill that void in you. Helping people is you’re calling and you aren’t sure if being a cop or something would hold the same weight. And it’s not like you could walk up to Supergirl and the DEO and request a job.
“What’s going on in that genius brain of yours?” Lena’s voice is soft, as if she doesn’t want to startle you.
Sighing, you tell her how you’d love to live with her but then share the drawbacks of moving from New York to National City.
Her quirked eyebrow makes you curious.“ I could help with the job part.” She says with a proud little smirk.
“Yeah?”
“I work at the DEO.”
“Huh?” You frown, sitting up completely and turning to face her,“ I thought you worked at L-Corp.”
She nods,“ I do but I also work at the DEO. It was a brilliant business decision and a better way to help people. When the government supports your business there are more liberties.”
Point noted. She is right though.
“Are you sure you want to live with me? My team would argue that I can be annoying. If you don’t believe me ask Wanda.” You say.
Lena’s fingers reach up and brush your cheek before she leans in and kisses you gently,“ I’m sure I can handle it.” She tells you, earning a soft chuckle in response. Her eyes scan your face and brighten with hope at the look she finds.“ You gonna come live with me Y/nn.”
You can feel the heat rush to your face at the nickname she uses but it’s cute, especially coming from her.
“I’d have to tell the team, square some things away, have a long talk with Wan, and make sure I get that DEO job,” you ramble off, noticing that Lena’s expression remains the same,“ yes I’m gonna move in with you.”
The brightest smile you’ve ever seen lights up her face and she wastes no time in pulling you into a hug. Her lips press a quick kiss to your neck in excitement,“ I can’t wait. And you don’t have to worry about the DEO job. I know you’re more than qualified.”
When she pulls away, she tells you,“ leaving your home won’t be easy but I promise I’ll do whatever I can to make it easier for you.”
“I love you so much Lena Luthor.” You tell her.
“I love you too.” She kisses you for good measure.
As the two of you decide to go make something to eat, and that conversation replays in your head, you start to think of how you’ll tell the team and how they’ll react. Either way, you know you really want to live with Lena.

Ok now you have to share the ship where one is a ghost and your current fav one that ends well! We need the infoooo
Okay so if you’ve been around on my blog a while, you may know I have a cat named Starbuck
Tumblr media
She
Starbuck is named after one of my favourite characters from my childhood/early teen years, Captain Kara “Starbuck” Thrace from Battlestar Galactica
Tumblr media
Katee Sackhoff as Kara Thrace. Is this character the reason I am bisexual? Sources say “its a strong possibility but tbh the entire cast of BSG may be responsible”
Now [SPOILERS, for a show that ended in 2009] Starbuck was a fighter pilot in humanity’s search for earth and a new homeworld after the cylon attack wiped out the twelve colonies of Kobol and she had an on again, off again, never quite, almost once upon a time romance with Captain (later Major) Lee “Apollo” Adama, who was their CAG and also their commanding officer’s once-estranged son, an absolute dick like 70% of the time, and also Starbuck’s late fiancé’s older brother (and, unfortunately, I love him).
Their already unstable relationship was challenged when Starbuck followed a ghost ship into a space-maelstrom set to the best cover of All Along the Watchtower that’s been done (shout out to my man Bear McCreary who also did the scores for Black Sails and other things including I think Outlander but I haven’t watched that). She was then assumed (rightly) to be dead until some time later when she turns back up claiming to know the way to earth (the goal of the entire series).
At the 4A finale, they find a planet that may be earth (It isn’t really but I’m not gonna get super into the mythology of Battlestar Galactica, you don’t care that much) and on that planet they find…Starbuck’s plane and her body. Even though she’s been there with them and led them to this place??
Anyway, they then go on to find actual!earth and its looking like Starbuck and Apollo are finally gonna get to be together, and they’re going to be okay, there are no more barriers left in their way after four seasons of this, and then he turns to look at her and she’s fucking gone. And it broke me at the tender age of 15 or however old I was in 2009.
However, I have now rewatched the show quite a few times because I like to Suffer™️ and am better now at recognising their relationship for the destructive mess it is and them as the broken people they are and i do still love them both and I do still ship it but it doesn’t quite hit Right anymore, you know?
The OTHER ship that is now my favourite from this otherwise deeply upsetting show that basically invented desaturated sci-fi for the modern era (Also you want to talk gritty reboots? Holy shit) is Them:
Tumblr media
Grace Park as Lieutenant Sharon “Athena” Agathon and Tahmoh Penikett as Lieutenant Karl “Helo” Agathon
They are quite literally The Future in the show, because she is one of the cylon robots and he is human. He was in love with a sleeper agent copy of her who had no idea she wasn’t human and he sacrificed himself to save her (and a bunch of civilians) and ended up stranded on an irradiated wasteland that used to be their home planet and the only reason he was able to survive is because this copy of her, Athena, was given all of Boomer’s memories but without the questionable boyfriend and Athena absolutely fell in love with Helo, knowing full well what she was and like. Kind of technically baby trapped him? But they didn’t know that was possible (since she is a robot) and their daughter is like the key to the future of the human race and sapient life in general and when he finds out what Athena is he takes a minute to readjust (and frankly wouldn’t you?) and then decides “yeah no still in love with her.” Also in retrospect he is a bit of a himbo/malewife energy despite being very competent and badass when called upon to be and is also one of my favourite male characters in anything so I am slightly biased (fun fact when he guest starred in supernatural and died that’s about when I stopped following the show).
Anyway, they go through a LOT of shit because of their kid, various speciesism from both the human fleet and the cylon fleet, all while being entirely devoted to each other even when they’re led to believe their daughter is dead (she’s fine) and at the series finale, the three of them get to be happy together (even though there’s a heart stopping moment when you think he’s dead for a bit during the finale and I hate that moment).
Also my enduring crush on Grace Kim is probably the only thing that would ever convince me to watch Hawaii 5-0 in case I needed another troubling procedural to fall into but that’s neither here nor there.
Aren’t you glad you asked, Anon?
ETA: Starbuck and Helo are also implied to have been friends for a very long time and their moments of friendship spark so much joy for me
