London Has Fallen
In which Kate and Devin write a porno
Devin: Okay, so this movie is just Gerard Butler being a badass right? Is this the one with Denzel Washington? Or are neither of those things right.
Kate: It’s something like that.
Devin: Well, Butler showed up in the credits, but so did morgan freeman?
Kate: It’s a trifecta!!
Devin: Or maybe I'm just racist and mixed them up.
Kate: Or maybe it’s the two of them being badass together.
Devin: I made some comment the other day about minorities being underrepresented at the oscars or something and they asked what actors I think should win instead and I blanked on literally every minority actor I knew.
Kate: Hahahah. It’s still true though. And to be fair, could you name any white actors?
Devin: My brain got stuck on Tom Hardy and forgot literally every other actor on earth
Kate:I think he’s on tv now anyway. So far this movie is starting a bit slow. Do you think someone is going to be shot soon?
Devin: I find it weird that we are in....India?
Kate:  I think we’re at an Indian wedding. Terrorist’s daughter is getting married
Devin: This is set up for motive?
Kate: Probs
Devin: The Phantom of the Opera and Harvey Dent go for a jog
Kate: Why are politicians always running? I don’t think they do that much
Devin: I think cause DC? it's an easy excuse to pan around the lawn
Kate: Ok well fine, coming at me with movie reasons. Wait, is this a sequel?
Devin: Is it? Was the last one just called "London"?
Kate: I was thinking Gerald saved a president in the last one?
Devin: She has crazy eyes
Kate: She does but she’s pregnant
Devin:  I'll forgive it if we get through this movie without her vomiting.
Kate:  She’s in like her third tri already so she really shouldn’t
Devin:  Google says this is a sequel, to Olympus Has Fallen. Lots of stuff falling apparently
Kate: Knew it!!! I’ve seen that one too
Devin: Really? I'm guessing last time he saved President Harvey Dent from terrorists, wooed or impregnated his wife, and got hired for secret service or unfired from secret service
Kate: Unfired, if it’s what I’m thinking of
Devin: This time he'll save the Prime Minister from terrorists, see his kid born, and...uh. Be knighted? That's my guess
Kate: Seems like a totally logical guess to me. I’m betting he discovers the Prime Minister was murdered. I don’t think people are expected to attend state funerals?
Devin: I think it's cause his vice isn't available? I think normally this is the kind of thing they send him for. But I am basing that on episodes of Madam Secretary so who knows
Kate: New guess!! President is killed and Butler has to protect Freeman
Devin: Hmmm. Maybe. Is Freeman the Vice?
Kate: Yes. He said “Hello, Mr VP”
Devin: I'm missing like half of this dialogue, idk how
Kate: Cause it’s boring
Devin: I want splosions!
Kate: This baby melodrama music is not my favorite. Once again I feel like writing is letting us down?
Devin: Yeah. Be better hollywood!
Kate: Also important people shouldn’t just sign shit without looking at it
Devin: is this the fringe guy? No. Who is he? He's someone
Kate: I think? No?
Devin: Fringe guy is similar but different. Oh! The Magicians? Magicians teacher guy?
Kate: No, definitely not him
Devin: IMDBing....
Kate: “Most protected event on earth”= everyone will die
Devin: Yup. This cast listing order is stupid. Do we know British Gerard Butler's name?
Kate: You mean the head of the British security? Also no. Also I think they’re going to use kids?
Devin: Yes, British guy. Mr. Sands! From Limitless. Thanks wikipedia, for your superior cast list
Kate: Limitless. That’s right, I never watched much of that
Devin: I really liked the main guy and all the arts and crafts in that show. I'm sad it was cancelled. Also we should add the movie to our review list
Kate: Yes!
Devin: Splosion! I didn't think those guards were supposed to have real guns? Then again EMTs should definitely not have rocket launchers
Kate: Hahaha, yeah, those cops are definitely plants. It’s clearly a very well orchestrated attack
Devin: Pretty sure only america gives their cops guns. Also, rocket launcher
Kate: Wow I don’t care how this movie ends the world would not recover from this
Devin: Yeah Kate, it's fallen. Show. Us. The. Egg. It's not London unless I see the big glass egg and the ferris wheel
Kate: How did they know that one president wouldn’t leave on time?
Devin: Trackers? Or they caused the traffic?
Kate: No, he decided?
Devin: Motorcycles, a car's only weakness
Kate: Nice driving!
Devin: Don't injure civilians!
Kate: Ummmm, Devin. I think that ship has sailed.
Devin: He rammed the bad guy into a non bad guy car!
Kate: Oh fuck. Ok so who is the black lady? Is she the First Lady?
Devin: Voight buddy, you could have moved. He's the driver, she's the head of secret service
Kate: He was driving! It was a bullet! Give him some credit. Is she?
Devin: Yes. According to wikipedia
Kate: She’s not doing much. And she hunkered with the president?
Devin: Right? Stop flailing. Where is your gun, woman?
Kate: Oh god. That was brutal
Devin: That was very brutal
Kate: Why didn’t they park closer to the chopper?
Devin: Crashing in 3...2...oh ok nvm
Kate: Hahaha
Devin: He's got a cane so you know he's evil
Kate: So true
Devin: Moral of this movie: don't trust the handicapped
Kate: And yet, they didn’t detect a plan of this magnitude
Devin: Uh, did those people just have labels?
Kate: Yes. NSA and something else
Devin:  Like, movie? Movie. We do not care
Kate: I’m assuming it will be important later?
Devin: Why is the lady not doing anything?
Kate: Nice, flares! I like flares. Why are they flying so low anyway?
Devin: I got distracted googling the secret service
Kate: Anything pertinent to share?
Devin: Apparently the director just does the boring shit, so idk why she's even here
Kate: Ummmm, I think the movie should end here?
Devin: Yes they all died. The End
Kate: No way anyone survived that. I call bullshit
Devin: Also, I assumed presidents would have like one guy their whole time in office? But apparently they hire someone new a lot. Oh she dead.
Kate: For the secret service?
Devin: As director. Like Obama had 2
Kate: I mean, that’s four years for each
Devin: Trump has already had 2. The first guy for like 2 months? 1 month?
Kate: Well, Trump does that a lot. He’s had like 8 communication directors
Devin: I just wonder if they choose to leave or if the president purposefully swaps them out
Kate: Also working for the president is really intense, so maybe you just burn out and have to leave
Devin: Makes sense. The local biker gang is here
Kate: I don’t think bikes make that noise. That is dumb
Devin: Yes. Also no one checked the wreck
Kate: At least we know from earlier scenes they are fast runners!
Devin: This looks like he put his manifesto on youtube
Kate: What point is there in entertaining this phone call? Also why does he care about one president?
Devin: Imagine if he called before they watched the video! Like 5 minutes earlier
Kate: Right? He should take the uniform too
Devin:
"Who is this?"
"It's...seriously? You didn't see my video?"
"h/o googling it"
"It's on youtube"
"yeah one sec, gotta sit through this 50 shade of grey trailer"
Kate: Ahhhhhhh Being hunted by motorbikes!! Oh no
Devin: Sure, that's subtle. Also this is a regular subway
Kate: I like that he was able to loot the body for weapons. Very practical
Devin: Jesus Gerard Butler. WTF? You went from zero to torture in no time
Kate: I know, little intense. Definitely running on adrenaline
Devin: This is the most 'murrican fucking movie. You cannot convince me that huge squads of racists didn't come out of this movie going "rah rah ‘murrica"
Kate: Oh god. Unfortunately yes
Devin: Although these talky bits suck. I'd rather have more fighting. Oh, thanks label, I really cared what time it was
Kate: Everyone is dead, that’s what this discussion is. I mean surrender and then ambush. How many people do they think there are? You’re not going to be professional right now? Weird
Devin: Blah blah blah. Bitch it was a wedding. Of course his family was there
Kate: How did you not know his family was there? It was a wedding. So dumb
Devin: What even is the point of that dialogue? There better be drugs in his water or something
Kate: What kind of shoddy intel are you all operating on? This is dumb. Do criticize if necessary. You have to teach them. Also off color jokes?
Devin: "You know what's most important Mike? Children. That's why we are never going to spend time with ours in any subsequent movie."
Kate: Of course it’s not your delta team.
Devin: Yeah why was that message not in code?
Kate: Zoom in!
Devin: Enhance! Your safe house has a fucking skylight!?
Kate: Seems like a pretty lame safe house. Oh this is gross
Devin: This movie is very gratuitous with its gore
Kate: It really is. And president you should not have done that. You are not almost out of this by any long shot
Devin:  There must be a porno of this where they fuck right then
Kate:  Did all of MI6 just die?
Devin: I'm not going to lie, that weird pirate porno you made us watch that one time is better than this movie
Kate: Haha! Oh pirates. Also my taste is terrible because I still enjoy this
Devin: I don't believe the hackers would make this basic of a mistake
Kate: No, me neither
Devin: Also driving seems like the quickest way to be spotted?
Kate: They kept everything under the radar but you didn’t notice this earlier?
Devin: Ok I guess at least the car is bulletproofed
Kate: How many of these terrorists are there supposed to be?
Devin: It's just the same 4 guys, they're really fast. They keep healing when they're off screen
Kate: Seems like an infinite supply. Mutants!! Also Mike is still somehow always faster
Devin: Now I want an action movie where 3/4 of the way through you realize he's been re-killing the same 5 guys over and over and surprise! it's really a fantasy/horror movie!
Kate: That would be so good. Change the whole game. I do oddly think this would make a good porno with very very little change
Devin: It's cause there's so much standing really close while breathing heavily and the plot is basically just as thin
Kate: Yeah pretty much. It’s a male romance novel
Devin: Also there have been.....5 women? in this entire movie. 6, I guess. Wife, mother, secret service director, beehive, assistant cop, MI6
Kate: Assistant cop?
Devin: Black lady?
Kate: I don’t remember her
Devin: She was in the bullpen with not!Fringe guy
Kate: Ok sure
Devin: Oh, ok, and random lady who had a text label I didn't read
Kate: There was the turning 30 woman and one lady head of state.
Devin: Still, none of these people shooting right now? There's like 20 guys in this scene!
Kate: Nope. Can’t have women in harm’s way unless they don’t have a choice. Also no lady terrorists
Devin: Only lady terrorists allowed are dead motivation ones
Kate: Also I’m subbing lady because it’s faster to type than woman
Devin: Agreed
Kate: Omg. Whispered “Mike.” Straight out of a romance novel
Devin: What? Are you ahead of me or did I miss it?
Kate: Maybe? The president whispered it
Devin: No! I must have missed the Mike whisper
Kate: He should be really tired by now. He didn’t have dinner!
Devin: "Hear that? My boyfriend is coming"
Kate: He really should just kill the president. It doesn’t make sense not to
Devin: There is so much manly eye contact and face holding
Kate: So much
Devin: Like I'm pretty sure almost this exact sequence happened in Outlander
Kate: In the porn there would be a scene where the president seduced him, Mike walked in on it, and then they have a threesome
Devin: With the bad guy?
Kate: Yup
Devin: That seems like it would be out of place plot wise. Would the bad guy turn himself in or something?
Kate: No. Just random sex that doesn’t make sense
Devin: Weird. The sex should make sense!
Kate: It’s for real a thing that happens in porn, you get whiplash. Oh god. This is lame. Really?
Devin: One punch where he runs all the way across the screen. So stupid
Kate: Did we learn who the brit mole was?
Devin: Nope. They hacked the police station I think? Damn! Wheelchair guy didn't even get to make a speech about how bad America is. This movie is not even pretending to care about America's mistakes
Kate: Why didn’t he just shoot everyone?
Devin: Out of bullets?
Kate: He hasn’t run out of guns until now
Devin: What even is this dialogue right now?
Kate: Really dumb
Devin: "You fuck with America? OH HELL NO. WE BAT SHIT. WE WILL FUCKING MURDER ALL Y'ALL."
Kate: America’s not even 500. Witty banter!
Devin: "EVEN OUR PRESIDENT WILL PICK UP A GUN FOR MURDER TIME"
Kate: Also he’s not dead because you haven’t killed him?
Devin: Yeah you just punched him a bit and talked nonsense
Kate: Once again, another thing they wouldn’t have survived.
Devin: I feel like the porno version of this has them go back to their wives at the end with lots of meaningful looks and sly smiles between the two main dudes. Like "yeah, we'll do this again next mission"
Kate:  Oh no! But yes probably. Why was there a lock in an elevator?
Devin: Is the president the only one alive from this whole thing? They would definitely make out in this elevator
Kate: I think one other world leader survived? There was a missing link to the terrorist?
Devin: I guess?
Kate: Who sent a fucking video?
Devin: Honestly this plot is stupid Yeah he's def the mole. Also he's running away? Like he obviously did it
Kate: Are we supposed to care about him or her? Because I do not
Devin: They would have had sex earlier in the porno
Kate: Yeah. It would have made more sense. Just kill him already
Devin: Also she would have just arrested him. I feel like the porno would have less murder
Kate: It’s weird that normally I complain about too much sex? But this would just be better as a porn
Devin: Yeah our review is basically "this would have made a better porno"
Kate: How would you have found him?
Devin: Who hears "look out your window" and looks up at the ceiling? Oh maybe that's what the missing link was?
Kate: Also the VP does not have the authority to call that type of strike
Devin: What is this 10 angled shot explosion? Ok, we've got a baby
Kate: So it’s been at least a few weeks
Devin: No prime minister but I didn't realize it was his funeral so I feel like the president is close enough. Now knighthood
Kate: Sure. They don’t know how emails work? Re: is for replies
Devin: "Many people would say this is our fault, but we're america so fuck those people. we'll kill those people."
Kate: “Commence spending no time with my kid”
Devin: In the porno version we end instead with a mirror of the earlier DC lawn scene, with them sitting on a bench watching their wives/kids, and the pres saying something like "still want to quit?" and Butler saying "and leave you, sir? Never." And then meaningful eye contact. Roll credits.
Kate: Hahahah
Devin: Okay, so scores
Kate: Yes. Scores.
Devin: 3/10 for the movie, 6/10 for the porno
Kate: I go a little higher movie? Like 4.5 for the movie.  6 for porno though. I think we can agree that no porn should ever rank higher than 7
Devin: Yeah. Like, even amazing porn is still porn
Kate: Ummmm tropes? So many, “family as our motivation”
Devin: “America is terrible and we never learn anything”?
Kate: Which is so hypocritical
Devin: “One man assumes command of literally every other character without argument”
Kate: Hahahaha. So like 7 on the tropes? They all fit the plot really well
Devin: Yeah, I mean it had a very particular niche and it played to it
Kate: Exactly
Devin: I'm going to give the title an 8/10. Catchy and accurate
Kate: I can agree. Thematic
Devin: London did pretty much fall. Like an old lady in a Life Alert commercial
Kate: Better than Olympus has fallen
Devin: Yeah, plus how fucking pretentious is it to call the white house "olympus"?
Kate: Exactly
Devin: What would the porn title be? I feel like they're usually puns?
Kate: Pun for sure. London may fall but our guys stay up
Devin: kind of long
Kate: It could be the tagline?
Devin: Oh yeah, good tagline. My brain gave me "Banging Private Ryan" which does not fit but is almost certainly a movie that exists
Kate: Hahahahaha. Banging president something? Whatever his name was
Devin: No idea, I called him Harvey Dent the whole movie. London Goes Down?
Kate: London laid down? Cause laid. Get it?
Devin: H/o I have to see if there is a real porn title for this. NSA people monitoring my internet searches, I'm really sorry
Kate: Gives them some spice! A story to take home
Devin: Top result for "London Has Fallen Porn Title" is:
"London Has Fallen movie condemned as racist 'terrorsploitation' "
"London Has Fallen is gun-barrel porn"
Kate: Whelp. Yep. I feel bad for enjoying it?
Devin: "London Has Fallen Is The Worst Film About Our City Ever"
Kate: Oh no it was a piece of shit for sure. Super fucking racist
Devin: “Blowing London.” That's my official submission
Kate: Nice! “Blowing London” is great. I thought you’d actually found it.
Devin: Ok, any parting words?
Kate:  It was a dumb racist movie that I feel guilty for enjoying anyway? Which means we should have more action movies made with better plots and motivation. And female representation!
Devin:  Or more action movies that are just porn
Kate:  Or that. What about you? Parting words?
Devin: If you want to see a movie where Gerard Butler brutally murders everyone, this is it. Or, you know, go watch 300, it is less awful.
Kate: So true.

MM ANON ... a few ideas
MOS Devine sarcasms. ……
The Sunday Daily Mail today is loaded with tons of delightful, excellent, divinely sarcastic comments in several articles about MM.  There’s one referencing her red leather pencil skirt saying how she “oozes glamour” with her “go-to figure hugging ensembles” perfect for royal engagements (!) with her hair in a high messy bun with “a few pieces (hanging) that elegantly frame her features.” Yeah, right. And it goes on to compliment the berry shade of her outfit which “goes very well with her olive complexion.”
Another story tells how persistently Meghan begged a journalist to get her name into the British tabloids and how she excelled at networking while she was “riding the publicity carousel in London for all she was worth.”
 And there’s lots more.
aristocratic Sunday laugh-in. ……
It seems that on Sundays the RF gets together for a lighthearted review of the weeks events highlighting the most outrageous stories in the tabloids, amusing posts on social media, funny photos, videos, etc. This sounds like fun!
“ Modernist!!! What’ one is not amused “……
MM and PH seem to think they are single-handedly modernizing the monarchy. But the Queen is not amused for many reasons.
” NATO Banquet, no Philip!! “………
“ who sits with Kate , old thing “………
“Emmanuel!! “…… “ And William?”…… “Angela”…… “ I’ll pencil you in”……
It looks like PP will not be attending the Nato Banquet but is discussing the seating arrangements with the Queen putting Katherine with Emmanuel Macron, William with Angela Merkel and joking he’ll pencil her in making it sound like her appearance is iffy when, most likely, she’ll be there.
once is unfortunate, twice is deliberate ……
This may be referring to Meghan’s curtsy debacle that now has happened again. The first one could have been chalked up to an unfortunate incident but happening again the next day shows it was intentional.  Both women were simply trying to curtsy to her but she turned it into an awkward hug.
When greeting royalty it’s traditional to make a small curtsy, or even a handshake is acceptable, but hugging is not the custom. She just loves steamrolling royal traditions and protocol and getting her own way.
🎼”don’t stop thinking about ………”
“Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow” Fleetwood Mac’s song saying tomorrow will be better than before and yesterday’s gone.🎼……
regimental representation …… “HES AGOOD EGG”……
“The Blues and Royals, of course!!”
The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons) is a cavalry regiment of the British Army. Harry, a very likable guy with solid military experience, will be dressed in his uniform representing the RF on Remembrance Day.
 Total speculation.
Thank yo7!  Great job.  Much appreciate you participating.....😊❤️❤️❤️❤️

Kevin Cage of @spotlightsaga reviews… 13 Reasons Why (S01E11) Tape 6 Side A Airdate: March 31, 2017 @netflix @13reasonswhy Ratings: (Streaming Only) Score: 8.25/10
***********SPOILERS BELOW**********
Once again, the writing room is busy, and the editing room gives us fascinating juxtapositions, but it’s the directors who have proved to be the final say in how this tv series truly translates… Which in television, this is not often the case. It is a very ‘collaborative’ event, but with subject matter as sensitive as suicide and how we’ve seen that branch into other regions of what leads to all these feelings of guilt, shame, betrayal, abandonment, and ultimately… A tragic tale of Hannah Baker, a teenage girl who I think most would very much diagnose with 'Bipolar Disorder’, as well as showing signs of a few other mental disorders. See, I was wrong, and I believe a few people who had their hands in making this were wrong too… This isn’t a series about a girl who used suicide as a side dish of revenge. This is a disturbing look at growing up in modern society, a society that knows to put up walls to shield them from harm because the closest some of us can come to showing our real selves is a persona on the internet. We’ve forgotten how to interact with each other properly. We’ve forgotten the true importance of empathy… And we’ve forgotten that behind the facade of everyone’s perfect lives playing out on Facebook or social media as the diary that we WANT everyone to see, there’s a totally different diary existing somewhere else. Mental illness gets lost in the shuffle. We self diagnose, it becomes normal. But nothing about any of this is normal, guys… This is just plain heartbreaking.
We are so quick to point fingers, because we want someone so badly to be the bad guy so we can quickly wash our hands of it, we don’t stop and think that we are all one. And if everything affects everything, then the only way to make things better for you, for me, for her, for he, for anyone, is to get honest, break down those walls and really listen to each other. '13 Reasons Why’ is far from perfect because not everyone involved in the creation process of the show completely understood that, or at least understood how to angle that in a consumable way. Still, there had to be some sort of twist and it’s fitting that it comes during the duration of Clay’s tape. It’s not Hannah who suffered a terrible rape, it was Jessica, and it was not just the guilt of knowing what happened there that night at her party that arrested Hannah, but the stop sign incident as well. Why she didn’t prop that bad boy up, I don’t know, and I’m not sure that’s even remotely the point. It all comes back to… Everything affects everything.
I still have a personal story to share… Its my own version of '13 Reasons Why’, only it ended with a shotgun in my friend’s mouth and there were no tapes involved, but there was plenty of blame to go around. Whispering in the wind and smiles that faded to sneers during what I thought was a warm embrace. We have a couple of episodes left and this thing still could go into another direction… So I’m just going to hold on to it for a little bit longer. It’s just not the right time. Jessica Yu had the honor of taking us to one of the most exciting and revealing episodes of the series yet, and like I said… She along with the rest of the crew absolutely killed it here. This was the best episode since Gregg Araki’s 'Tape 4 Side A’… But watching these last episodes transition from Gregg Araki to Carl Franklin to Jessica Yu has been astounding.
You want to know? Did Jessica know that something happened that fateful night? Of course. She had buried down somewhere and it started to manifest itself in destructive ways… This isn’t a shoddy version of the *possible cross spoiler alert for Switched At Birth* Tank Storyline, that was an embarrassment to anyone who had ever been through a sexual assault of any kind on any spectrum and came out stronger to tell the tale. It really feels like '13 Reasons Why’ could just end here, but we have two more episodes and I gotta feeling it’s going to be wild. I have full faith in Jessica Yu to finish Tape 6 off with dignity and finesse… Kyle Patrick Alvarez who brought us the weakest installment of the series so far with Tape 3… Not so much, and for some reason he was given the reigns to close out the show. Kyle is a young passionate director, but he hasn’t achieved something as insightful, thought provoking, and ultimately existential and human as he aims for… But I think he’s one to keep an eye on, because when he does hit that mark it’s going to be a special moment.

Album Review: I Was Born Swimming by Squirrel Flower
Tumblr media
Squirrel Flower’s new release I Was Born Swimming is the definition of nostalgia, especially on tracks like “Home” or “I-80.” Delicate instrumentals fused with bold lyrics and melancholic tones solidify this album as a force to behold. Each song effortlessly flows into the next, holding listeners in a dream-like state. Through and through, I Was Born Swimming is a truthful, ethereal journey of confidence and purpose.

13 Reasons Why (stylized onscreen as TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY) is an American teen drama web television series originally developed for Netflix as limited series by Brian Yorkey, based on the 2007 novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. The series revolves around seventeen-year-old high school student Clay Jensen and his deceased friend Hannah Baker, who takes her own life after having to face a culture of gossip, bullying and sexual assault at her high school and a lack of support from her friends, her family and her school. A box of cassette tapes recorded by Hannah in the weeks preceding her suicide detail why she chose to end her life. The series is produced by July Moon Productions, Kicked to the Curb Productions, Anonymous Content and Paramount Television, with Yorkey and Diana Son serving as showrunners. Dylan Minnette stars as Clay Jensen, while Katherine Langford plays Hannah Baker. Christian Navarro, Alisha Boe, Brandon Flynn, Justin Prentice, Miles Heizer, Ross Butler, Devin Druid, Amy Hargreaves, Derek Luke, Kate Walsh, and Brian d'Arcy James also star. A film from Universal Pictures based on Thirteen Reasons Why began development in February 2011, with Selena Gomez set to star as Hannah, before being shelved in favor of a television series and Netflix ordering an adaptation as a limited series in October 2015, with Gomez instead serving as an executive producer. The first season (launched as initial miniseries) was released on Netflix on March 31, 2017. It received positive reviews from critics and audiences, who praised its subject matter and acting, particularly the performances of Minnette and Langford. For her performance, Langford received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress – Television Series Drama. However, its graphic depiction of issues such as suicide and rape (along with other mature content) prompted concerns from mental health professionals. In response, Netflix added a warning card and from March 2018 on, a video that plays at the start of each season warning viewers about its themes. In July 2019, Netflix edited out the suicide scene in the first season's final episode. Despite being initially produced and marketed as miniseries, due to the success of the initial 13 episodes, Netflix renewed 13 Reasons Why for a second season in May 2017; with filming beginning the next month and concluded that December. The second season was released on May 18, 2018, and received mixed to negative reviews from audiences. Coinciding with the release of the second season, Netflix released a video with the cast that cautioned viewers on some of the topics covered in the show and provided a support website with crisis numbers for people affected by depression, anxiety and other mental health issues.A third season was ordered in June 2018 and was released on August 23, 2019. In August 2019, the series had been renewed for a fourth and final season.Critical and audience reaction to the series has been divided, with the program generating controversy between audiences and industry reviewers alongside acquiring a loyal following. by movies 44wali

A Christmas Prince
In Which Kate and Devin review Netflix’s new Christmas movie and utterly fail at avoiding spoilers.
Kate: So where do we start?! Devin: Pick a movie to talk about? Kate: Top of the list is Christmas Prince. It was terrible; from start to finish it was filled with cliches and things that didn't make sense Devin:  I liked the movie! Kate: You can like the movie that is fine. I enjoyed watching the movie? But only because it was so bad. Devin: I really like the izombie girl and she was super weird in this, almost soft spoken or something? Kate: She was weird, but she made it more enjoyable to me just because I like her. Devin: I would probably have been much less forgiving of this movie without her Kate: Prince was handsome, but I've already forgotten his name. Devin: Really? I thought he was eh. Kate: Not as handsome as in the next movie (spoliers!), but he was very princely I thought. Devin: I mean prince looked very british? But I don't find that attractive Kate: I guess I don't mean particularly attractive to me, but generically attractive. As in, I think more people would say he was very attractive than would say he was average. His acting was pretty blah though. His sister's hair was on point? Devin: Fair. She reminded me of the bitchy girl in willy wonka though. Kate: OMG, yes. She was very reminiscent of the bitchy girl. Devin: Was she the bitchy girl? Kate: I don't think she was? But definitely reminded me of her Devin: Hold on I am imdb-ing her Kate: Holding Devin:  Okay well searching “willy wonka and the chocolate factory” failed, because that is not the title. And you're right it's a totally different girl. Devin: Moving on, loved the queen lady, possibly because she's in it for all of 5 minutes. Kate: She was pretty good, very severe looking. But you could tell it was grief? (Spoiler: the king is dead) Devin: It's in the plot description, I don't think it's a spoiler. Kate: Oh is it? I didn't read the plot description. Devin: Also he's been dead for like a year Kate: Well fine Devin: No okay I lied. But it is revealed in like the first 10 minutes. Kate: It is a very major point in the plot. Kate: So actor choice I give it 8 christmas trees. Generally they all fit in and izombie girl made me willing to watch it. Devin: Yeah, out of 10 I'd say 8 is probably where I land too. Kate: Cool, consensus! Devin: I still really love that she has both family and friends and contacts them throughout the movie, like a normal person. Oh! And I liked that she called her boss to be like "hey, so, uh, what should I do?" Kate: That's true, the movie gets bonus points for concocting a real life around their protagonist. Devin: This is not a spoiler I don't think? But what the hell was with the scene where he saves her from wolves? Kate: Yes! That fit in nowhere? Wait, I mean, actually, when you think about how fast the plot moved, it progressed over only 2 weeks and ends with (Definitely spoiler) him proposing. Kate: Maybe attack by wolves was the instigating ‘falling in love quickly’ event? All the adrenaline? Devin: Oh yeah the timeline of this movie makes no sense. Also: how did she saddle and steal that horse if she was going to fall off so easy? Kate: How did she know how to ride a horse at all? Devin: Right? Kate: Clearly we are missing some important backstory here Devin: Was she from New York? Or do I just assume that's where all movie characters from a city live? Kate: I think the second, but I don't actually know where she was from. Her friend being super gay does suggest New York to me though.   Kate: Back to ratings, I'm going to give this one a low grade on Christmas-iness. I think the plot could have progressed absolutely the exact same way without being set over Christmas, using a birthday or something. I give it only 1 reindeer. Do they ever say how the King dies? Devin: I assume either illness or age… actually I feel like the king got cancer, but that could be 100% a lie. Kate: Doesn't matter because it’s not christmas related. Devin: Cold. Did you think the mom was old to have a daughter as young as Emily? I can't actually remember how old she looked. Kate: I really wondered about that. She looked a little old but my dad has a friend who got pregnant at 50, so physically it’s possible. And the sister was what, between 9-12? Devin: Probably Kate: So if mom was 55 in the movie that seems doable Devin: Ok. Also the king was a dick "hehe I will continue to lie to my only son about his parentage, EVEN THOUGH I KNOW I AM DYING AND ALSO HE IS A GROWN ASS MAN AND IT AFFECTS THE POLITICS OF MY KINGDOM and then I will HIDE THIS VERY IMPORTANT LEGALLY BINDING DECREE to be found after my death and definitely for sure followed even though honestly no one has to listen to a dead guy. And the only hint they have is my shitty riddle poetry" Kate: I still very much doubt the legality of the paper "it has the king's seal on it" no thank you. That's not how I like my laws made Devin: Like doesn't he need that notarized or looked at by a council or some shit? Also, it's not even a decree, it just says "I love my son lots, just not enough to tell him the truth". Kate: And if he did, wouldn't that person have come forward when he died? So fucking weird, he was a dick, you're right. Devin: What modern day country is this anyway? Kate: A shitty European one. Devin: Like, fake country, yes. But I assumed they were using maybe England as a template or something. Kate: It seemed a little like they were. But a much smaller country than England? Devin: Are there still ruling monarchies? In real life? Kate: Yes? Saudi Arabia? Devin: Hmm, I don't know enough about Saudi Arabian law to determine if death bed messages hidden in acorns are legally binding. Kate: Well, one of their princes just murdered a bunch of their other princes, so probably not. Kate: Oh hey, apparently Monaco is a country that still has a ruling monarch. Devin: Huh Kate: There are others but I don't think we need to get into all that. Just go read the wiki people. Devin: I mentioned while I was watching, but I still resent her dramatic race to stop the coronation when she easily could have called the palace. Kate: You have cellphones! Use them! Devin: It would have saved at *least* half an hour. Kate: Trope! That goes in the trope category. I'm giving the plot like 2 eggnogs, maybe tropes like 4 jingle bells. Devin: Yeah the trope meter was off the scale in this movie. Kate: Like, I liked some of the tropes? Which is why it’s a little higher for me. But damn. All of them. Devin: Tropes can be good, they just threw a lot of them in there. Kate: They made a list of tropes and then made a movie around them. Devin: Clumsy female lead. Kate: Ugh. Hate that. Devin: "hehe oops, was this OBVIOUSLY EXPENSIVE VASE important?" Kate: Everything in a castle is expensive! Sick sister Devin: Mean kid just wants friendship. Kate: Ugh, the mean kid/friendship one is another pet peeve. Devin:  She goes from "I will kill you in your sleep" to "I trust you implicitly" in, like, a single scene. Kate: The sister warmed up to her in like 4 hours! That's not how it works! Have them bond over something silly right to begin with! Many movies do that well. Devin: If you need them to be friends for the plot, just don't make her mean to start! skip straight to friendship! Kate: Yes! Dead father. Dead mother Devin: Secret adoption Kate: Father who owns a restaurant that you have to go work at. Devin: Shaved his beard and suddenly she thinks he's hot Kate: Oh yes! Secretly not a playboy? Devin: Also he stole her taxi for seemingly no reason. Kate: I didn't really get that bit to be honest. Devin: Just to be a dick? Kate: Yeah, that was such a dick move. That was never addressed and she just forgave completely just because he's a prince. Devin: It's like they couldn't decide until halfway through if they wanted him to be nice or not. Also wanting to bone is not the same as love. Kate: Very true. It seemed like it just went on and on to me. I'd be like, surely this movie is wrapping up soon. And then it kept going. Devin: I definitely shouted at you "dear god look in the acorn!" for a solid hour of that movie Kate: You did. Over and over. You picked up on it the very first scene and you were cooking at the same time! Devin: It was so obviously a box! I have honestly no idea where she got the birth certificate from though. Or how bitchy love rival girl found it. I never learned her name Kate: Oh, so she literally just found the birth certificate in a desk at the lodge they went to after the wolves. It might have been a sort of secret compartment? But not very secret. Devin: lol what? Kate: And then bitchy rival girl searched her rooms. Devin: Rude Kate: Which was a huge invasion of privacy. Devin: If I was a secret reporter I would definitely lock that away. Kate: Right! They were like, spread out on her bed. Devin: Then again a 10 year old cracked her laptop password Kate: hahaha, I forgot that part, so dumb, just so dumb. Devin: She's honestly a terrible reporter Kate: Yeah, plot definitely only gets 2 eggnogs. I mean, she wasn't really a reporter. Devin: She sort of was? Kate: She was an editor who wanted to be a reporter. Devin: Yeah, fair. Kate: But clearly she was better at writing than reporting I would say. Devin: She did get the assignment. Kate: Cause no one else was available! Devin: What percentage of her getting that assignment was her boss hoping the prince would sleep with her? Kate: At least 75% Devin: "You lied your way into the palace? Goooooood. I stuffed some condoms in your luggage. No, no reason. Wink." Kate: OMG! Her boss was such a sleeze. Or at least it felt that way to me. Devin: I mean wasn't it a tabloid magazine? Kate: It must have been. Devin: iZombie was very naive. Kate: Soooooooo naive. How? She's an adult. Devin: A very sheltered adult. Kate: She works for a tabloid! Devin: Ok I think maybe it's final scoring time Kate: Ok, you wrap. Tell me how you feel? Devin: Probably a 3/10 for plot, 8/10 for actor choices, 4/10 for acting, uh, like 2/10 for Christmas-ness, 6/10 for ending? 2/10 for tropes? Kate: I think I’d go a little lower on the ending - 4 gift bags. It was pretty fucking weird, but it did end happy? And that's important in a christmas movie. Devin: It was weird, but I feel like I am very forgiving as long as it's happy. Split the difference and say 5? Kate: Sure, 5 gift bags. Devin: What would you give it overall? Kate: Overall it’s not a movie I would recommend unless you specifically like one of the following: the girl from izombie, movies about fake royal families or .... I can't think of a third thing Devin: Acorns Kate: Or acorns - if you really have a thing for super obvious plot devices, this movie is for you! Overall possibly 4 christmas's I suppose Devin: Aww, so low? Kate: Yeah, sorry. Devin: No you're fine. Kate: How many christmas's would you give the Christmas Prince? Devin: I was thinking a 6. Kate: I think 6 is perfectly acceptable. If you'd given it an 8 I would question. Devin: Never. Kate: Oh no! We forgot to judge the title! Devin: It's a terrible title. 0 sleigh bells. Kate: Yeah, 0 sleigh bells for the title. I think it was so we would realize it was supposed to be a christmas movie. Devin: Probably. The Christmas [Noun] is just so boring. Kate: The Christmas King would have made more sense? Devin: Hmm, I do like the Christmas King better. Kate: Because of the coronation plot line. That we didn't get into at all in this review. But whatever, go watch the movie. Devin: Yeah. Kate: You know it has something to do with acorns. Devin: Or don't watch it. Kate: Or don't.

Kevin Cage of @spotlightsaga reviews… 13 Reasons Why (S01E10) Tape 5 Side B Airdate: March 31, 2017 @netflix Ratings: (Streaming) @13reasonswhy Score: 7.75/10
***********SPOILERS BELOW**********
If everything affects everything, then we are to be held responsible for our actions big and small, no matter what the outcome… No matter if it kills someone, or leaves them with with a red slap mark on their face, or a longing for your touch. I think there are some very interesting points raised here, and I definitely think Carl Franklin was the man for the job. There’s no reason for me to go on about the director selection, as I’ve been focusing on it for quite some time, especially after Alvarez had his little breakdown on twitter. I’m here to watch a television show about extremely sensitive subjects, critique it, enjoy what I can, and see how each player in the game can relay that ‘for every action there’s a reaction’… Not everyone is suited to make these points, but since Araki and Franklin have taken over, I’ve found myself really enjoying '13 Reasons Why’. Oh, and I’m extremely excited to see what Oscar Winner Jessica Yu has store in for us. I think she can work magic with this writing team, who before E7 went largely misunderstood. If a director has a problem with me saying that, then i welcome their discussion. I’ve watched some of these episodes carefully, sometime twice, and I’m well versed in breaking down television from top to bottom. You see many of us have different views on suicide. Some of us are educated in psychology, sociology, behavioral sciences, etc… Some of us have lived these things first hand, and some of us both… Some of us are born with intuition, an empathy radar that was honed and perfected by our peers, our environment, and individual experiences. What I’ve noticed the most is that no matter what opinions we are sharing, or what we don’t agree with, we all have a deep respect for each other’s perspectives… Even if we don’t agree. That’s a beautiful thing, and as much as 2016 felt like we fell back a bit and let ourselves become separated, the conversations Im having with people about these topics feel like in 2017 we are moving forward stronger and more hand in hand than ever before. We have to.
I have a specific story that relates to the topic at hand… But I’m going to continue to hold the big one back… People might get angry for me sharing it, but I don’t fucking care. I write for me, and I write for anyone out there who connects with what I’m saying, who understands my perspective and somehow that makes it easier on them, somehow knowing that they aren’t alone… I write under a nom de plume, but I write real life experiences and tie them into storylines, and my aim is to tell my stories through the worlds obsession and love with media, not to hurt anyone. Cuz guess what? There have been some serious mistakes I’ve made in my life and they have caused others pain, and there have been things other people have done and they have caused me pain. This is the way of the world people. The best thing we can do is open up and talk about it, stop history from repeating itself. Try to understand what makes each other tick.
I think Carl Franklin and the writers did a great job with this one, showing us that you never know what decision you are going to make today out of fear, or not giving a fuck, or whatever it may be, and what effect that decision might have… It all feels less melodramatic, unlike the series low (Tape 3, yes YOU, Alvarez. Hopefully you can redeem it E13, and if you do I will say that you did)… Its starting to pick up an electric current and instead of placing blame everywhere and on everyone, we’re seeing that as a society we just need to be more self conscious. Easier said than done right? For sure.
Jessica is unraveling fast… First it was Justin, now it’s Jessica who realizes the more she isn’t numbing herself, the more the people she has surrounded herself with are people that would rape her while she sleeps and lie to her about it… Because (and I’m not quoting, but I swear this is exactly the quote that Justin’s brain has prepared), 'Its just easier for everyone’. We can crucify Justin all we want (and humans love to point the fn’ finger right? Assign blame, and then we call move on). Truth is, Bryce is the big bad dog and Jessica was the price to stay in his yard. All the Jessica’s I know are survivors, so Bryce better watch himself. See all these glocks? Aren’t they absolutely beautiful?!
Welcome one, Welcome all… Welcome to growing up in the United States Of America. The sun is shining, everyone is just fine, ignore all the heroin & Fentanyl, pain medications, depression, unemployment, campus rapes, racial tensions, bigotry, hate crimes, the disappearing middle class, and (of course) that big hole where that stop sign used to be. Secrets? Why we have no secrets here and if there are the government has a damn good reason, right?!? You get me… Ignore Assange, Ignore Snowden, Ignore Chelsea Manning. Everything is FINE! I’m sorry, I don’t know these words… Benghazi, Russia, Syria. Iraq. Never of heard of such things. Carry on… And change the goddamn tape! You’re up, Clay.

Hollywood Reporter, September 25
Since I don’t have any tabloids  to add today, I’m going to add the Hollywood Reporter. I’ll do this when I run dry of tabloids. If you’d like me to add HR more often, let me know :)
Keep in mind HR is an over-sized magazine, so some scans will be cut off. If you’d like something scanned that I cut off, again let me know
Lastly, there are a lot of ads in HR, especially For Your Consideration and Congratulations ads. Let me know if you’d like me to keep an eye out for ads for someone or something you’re interested in

Tokyo Olympics: Who is representing Team USA
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics were postponed a year since of the coronavirus pandemic and Olympians from all over the world needed to wait prior to contending for gold in Japan.
On July 23, professional athletes will come together to begin the postponed Olympics one year later on. The risk of coronavirus still stays, and it will have a glaring effect on how the competitors move on.
There will no fans in participation this year for the Games – domestic or foreign. Rigorous coronavirus screening has actually been mandated and professional athletes have actually been asked to place on their own medals and pass up shaking hands with other rivals.
Team U.S.A. will be the apparent favorites in the majority of the occasions throughout the Olympics. The Americans won an overall of 121 medals in 2016 (46 gold, 37 silver and 38 bronze) which led all nations. The U.S. had 104 medals in 2012 (46 gold, 28 silver and 30 bronze), which likewise led all the individuals.
This year’s Team U.S.A. lineup will include a handful of noteworthy faces like Simone Biles, Kevin Durant and Katie Ledecky. But there are brand-new rivals who will take the nationwide spotlight and a handful of brand-new sports for fans to tune into.
Here’s who is representing the Stars and Stripes in this year’s Games.
