Having recently looked at some “Out Of Town” NHL highlight videos I can now safely say Ken Kal beats the living sh*t out of all other NHL broadcast commentators (with the exceptions of Mickey Redmond, Ken Daniels, and Paul Woods...who are all Home Town) to the extent Charles Bronson does all other street fighters in the movie Hard Times.

Krypto is SUCH a good boy And also the member of the Superman family I would be most afraid of I mean Clark and Kara and Conner and whatnot all have “codes” and the like Krypto is a DOG. He find the thing attacking his pack and he kills it. Simple as.

WIP excerpt for videogeek; Kara gets to Earth on time and the Kents get a two-for-one special on free kids.  (( chrono || non-chrono ))
The first time Kara had seen that, she’d really hoped it was a good sign. She's not very religious or even all that spiritual, but . . .
But maybe Rao led them here. Maybe Rao found this path for them. Maybe this planet’s pretty little yellow sun is a god he . . . knows, or knew, or even fathered. It's a much younger sun than his own red giant, after all.
And maybe it's a silly or stupid kind of hope, but Kara can't quite help hoping it all the same. There's no one to tell it to anyway, so it doesn't matter if she whispers a thanks to Rao once or twice, or to this pretty little yellow sun that she doesn't know the name of. At least they're here. At least they made it this far.
At least she hasn't failed Kal or their entire house yet.
The skies on this planet are so big, and its sun is so warm. It might not be stupid, to hope it’s a good sign.
“Sturms a-commin,” Pa says, still squinting at the sky. “Buss finn-ush batt-nin dow.”
Kara doesn't understand, still–“buss” she thinks is a good word, usually, and “a-commin” usually means something’s going to happen soon. She isn't sure about “finn-ush”, but Ma and Pa say it over meals sometimes, but also sometimes when they're in the middle of something, it seems like?
So maybe . . . something is going to happen? And maybe something Pa thinks is good? But they have to take care of their work first, before it does? Or maybe it's just time for “lun-chuh”?
Kara wouldn't mind something to eat right now, admittedly. Or to get back to Kal.
“Buss a-commin,” she repeats, trying to mimic Pa’s pronunciation the best she can; trying to sound confident in it and in what she’s . . . trying to say, at least. Trying to keep the smile on her face, if nothing else, even if Kal isn’t here right now. She still needs to be smiling, even when it’s not for him. Needs Ma and Pa to like her, and think she’s useful, and that she’s worth keeping around a little longer.
Pa chuckles, and spares her a smile too. So . . . she thinks that’s good, then, and hopefully he understood what she meant well enough. So–something good is going to happen, so they’re going to get their work taken care of.
Or “lun-chuh” is going to happen. But Kara wouldn’t mind that, like she said.
Pa goes through a few more chores with her, but they’re a little different from the usual ones they do together–covering things up, mostly, and closing up the barn, and bringing in all the “kuh-ows” and “chee-kens” . . . early, for some reason? Very early, even if they are about to have “lun-chuh”. Kara isn’t sure why today is different, but Pa is the one who knows how to do the chores, so she just assumes there’s a good reason and tries to remember how to do it all for later.
If there is a later, anyway. If they stay that long. If . . .
Just–“if”, she supposes.

Mando'a Dialects in- and out-of-universe
Outgame (irl) there are several different versions of Mandoʻa: The Shadows of the Empire Soundtrack version (Notron Cant), the Republic Commando Soundtrack version (Jesse Harlin's text), the Old Republic version (as seen in SWtOR or KotOR), the Republic Commando Novels version (Karen Traviss' version), the Mandoa.org version (their forum members made up a lot of extra vocabulary), several different tumblr versions, and the Disney version (as in the TV-series Star Wars Rebels). They all have distinctive similarities (the Notron Cant is an exception), but unfortunately, they also all somewhat differ. Since Karen Traviss published her Mandoʻa version online, complete with a dictionary, the Mandoa.org version and most tumblr versions are based on her version. Her version in turn is vaguely based on Jesse Harlin's version-the first Mandoʻa on file, so to say. I myself see them as different dialects or development stages of the same language.
See, Karen Traviss' Mandoʻa and also most of Mandoa.org's Mandoʻa uses Basic (i.e. English) grammar with a Mandalorian vocabulary, so I call that version Soldiers' Pidgin. It's obviously (ingame) a creole language that came into existence after the Mandalorian diaspora. It is this Soldiers' Pidgin that Kal Skirata taught his children (the Nulls) and possibly also the language that the Alphas taught other, younger clones (e.g. the CC class or the ARC-troopers) as a "secret" language to hide from the Kaminoans. If it was used by the clones in such a way, the GAR should have its own dialect. The different internet versions of Mandoʻa all seem to be based on Karen Traviss' dictionary, so I see them as different dialects of the Soldiers' Pidgin. The same reasoning can be applied to Disney's Mandoʻa.
The language of Vode An, Graʻtua Cuun, Darasuum Kote, etc. on the other hand uses a grammar that differs from Basic. It is an older form of Mandoʻa, probably the Mandoʻa spoken on Mandaʻyaim before the Excision - seven-hundred years ago. It's a lot more interesting (for me, at least). I propose calling it Classic Mandoʻa. It has its own grammar; it has a similar vocabulary as Soldiers' Pidgin, but with distinct and sometimes varying pronunciations (sometimes depending on the rhyme or rhythm of the song); it has a lot of epitaphs and kennings and references and can have very flowery phrasing. It's used, in or around the time of Palpatine's Empire, predominantly in older songs and poems. An irl-equivalent could be Shakespearean English.
We can probably view the (archaic) tOR version as vaguely translated into modern Mandoʻa (Soldiers' Pidgin, probably) since there is exactly no way that the language changes so little in over 3000 years. I also propose that the Basic back then has very few similarities to the Basic that's spoken during the Skywalker Wars.
Missing is a sort of current, modern version of Classic Mandoʻa. I think that is (sadly) very realistic. A society that is so broken up by something like orbital bombardment would likely, over the centuries, develop several different creole versions and try to keep their original language as unchanged as possible, leading to exactly the combination described above.
Here are some other people's thoughts:

hi kattttttttt. selfship asks: 🤪, 🥰, 😡
uwu hiiiiiii kat. i actually am kind of debating writing this canonverse thing as an x reader story... maybe... but this is katken especially for the third answer
🤪: What is your trait that fanon would exaggerate?
battle competence, overall comfort with violence, which i think is endemic to fan interpretation of many characters in this universe and, as i've said, canonized by s3p1. but! canonverse katken are a bit of a murder couple from the very first meeting (dump bodies down mineshaft, dry hump nearby). my body count caps off at like 5 MPs or so, but it's not fun or easy for me and all pillow talk is philosophical debates on revenge and goodness and evil and family and loyalty
🥰: How would someone who loved you portray you?
with all the above nuance i HOPE. i think someone who likes the ship would write or HC me with more of a spine (i wouldn't let him ghost me to begin with + uri would probably ship us in a kal ho naa ho way oh my fucking god where kenny is preity zinta and he's SRK) or they'd write an elaborate canon divergence where i like, betray him to the scouts or do Something so he doesn't die
😡: How would someone who hated you portray you?
kat to kat, asian woman to asian woman, i'm getting mikasa'd. my whole naive falling in love comes from me being like 20 to his 32ish (literally right before he meets uri + "raises" levi) and him not really correcting my idealizing him to some kind of vigilante because it benefits him (i HC him as essentially a toji fushiguro level bum until uri), so fanon has me dumb af and singularly obsessed with him like eremika but you know. it goes kat -> ken -> uri. tis tragedy through and through
self-ship in canon ask game
