Xisuma x a really jealous doc and Keralis over skizz flirting with their boyfriend

It's always the challenge with a new season. Xisuma is blissfully oblivious to any kind of flirting, as ever. But his boyfriends are both zoned in on it. Even though it's quite obviously a joke, or just the typical Skizz level of flattery he gives everyone. Impulse will inform X he needs to give them both a bonk on the head to chill out soon enough.

Part 1

Bathtubs aren't ideal for keeping a ocean mer in but it was the best option they had. It was pretty clear that they weren't going to leave xB on the rocks to be discovered by someone else. It wasn't a risk they were willing to take because they what would happen. However there was the problem that their roommate would find out about the mer in their bathtub. Doc had been their roommate for the last few months and it was clear that he didn't trust many people. Xisuma and Keralis had rescued Doc from a marketplace where he was being sold as meat. They were quick to buy him off the fisherman who caught him and acted as though they had idea for him. They clearly didn't want to hurt Doc and just wanted to help him any way that they could. They did the same thing for Doc as they were doing for xB by keeping him in the bathtub for a while. The only difference was that Doc had no chance of surviving out in the ocean because of how badly he was injured. He ended up becoming a permanent roommate once it was clear that he wouldn't survive in the wild. They didn't want Doc to find out about xB or the fact that Xisuma and Keralis brought a mer home with them. It wasn't that Doc wouldn't tell anyone but more so, they didn’t want him to know because it was only a temporary thing. They were planning on releasing xB at high tide and they knew that it wouldn't be until early morning.

However, there was one small problem with their plan. xB wasn’t in the best condition and was badly hurt from the fishing nets. His tail was in bad shape and it was clear that some of his fins had been injured by the nets. He was missing a few scales and it was easy to see that he had no way of protecting himself anymore. His claws weren't sharp enough for him to fight back and a few of his spikes had been completely snapped off by how tight the nets were. There was no way that he could survive if they released him back into the ocean in this condition. He was exhausted and hadn't chance to eat anything, since he had been hunting when he had got tangled up. It was difficult to figure out what they could do help and what kind of food that xB would eat. Keralis had a fair idea as to what xB would eat but the problem was that he hadn't been at sea in a very long time. He knew that he had to risk it if they were going to help keep xB alive and he certainly knew that it would worth the risk. Keralis simply told Xisuma that he would be back in a few hours and to keep on eye xB while he was gone. Xisuma knew what Keralis was going to do and warned him about the fishermen who might still be out. There was no way that Xisuma was going to lose a friend to those fishing nets and hooks.

While Keralis was gone, Xisuma did his best to keep xB company and to make sure that nothing would happen. He carefully examined the part of xB's tail that was hanging over the side of bathtub for any other injuries. He never got much of a response from the ocean mer and there were moments where xB would flinch away from his touch. Xisuma could understand the reason as to why and he did his best to keep his movements as careful as possible. That's when he heard xB speak for the first time since they rescued him from the rocks. It wasn't easy to understand what xB was saying but it seemed as though he was apologising for being a bother. He was apologising for getting caught in the nets and for not being able to free himself. That was something you don't apologise for. Xisuma knew how to speak mer from both Keralis and Doc but xB wasn't easy for him to understand. He mainly had to go off of xB's body language to understand what he was saying. Some words sounded similar to what he was taught but it wasn't easy to fully understand the main conversation. It didn't take much to realise that Xisuma was going to need help with this but he had no idea when Keralis would be back fresh food.

Xisuma needed Doc's help with this.

doc and keralis are very dad shaped, so cg vibes for both of them i think?

doc’s pretty strict about keeping littles away from things that might hurt them. he gives you space to explore your surroundings but does hover to keep u out of trouble. very good at piggyback rides. doesn’t usually initiate contact but will hold you if you ask.

doc and keralis are both pretty good about getting littles to sleep. doc can and will rock u to sleep and keralis is a wizard at tucking littles in ever so perfectly :>

keralis is really good at suggesting things to do i think. doc will mostly follow your lead and keralis will suggest things like “wanna go for a fly? how about a walk? do you want a snack?”

isuma has big brother vibes :D he’s a flip, so big brother vibes when he’s caregiving and his regressed ages are anywhere from 3-17 methinks. he’ll usually be a little older than whoever he’s regressed with. idk why he regresses. probably stress in some way or another. if he’s regressing on his own he’ll be nervous about being in the way and apologize a lot, but once you get him settled he’ll be alright :>

Lots of people think X and EX hate each other.

They do not, it's just that in void walker culture people tend to be violent even towards the people they love (something about helping them be stronger in case there's a threat)

The first people to notice are Keralis and Hels, the twins' boyfriends, when they find them both stargazing after sparring (and in dire need of some medical attention)

Now they've been socialised in cultures outside their home, the fighting has taken on a different meaning. They went through - in EX's words - a lot of shit together. In Xisuma's words, they really didn't have the most healthy sibling relationship growing up.

These fights... They offer a way to push all that aside. Instead of arguments that go nowhere, they can go hand to hand instead. It's engaging, physical and they both come out stronger because of it.

Keralis and Hels don't mind it. Hels would even enjoy getting in on the action. Just, jeez, at least bandage up first? This roof is wooden!

long story short someone (@kitsunespawz) mentioned fish-ificating hermits in discord right after i woke up and all of my neurons fired at once. and ive now spent all day drawing all the hermits as mermaids.
