Headcanon Voices - My Twst OCs
(sighs) So, less than a month after I said I would NOT be doing this...I’m doing this. Go figure. :P People keep asking me what voices I headcanon for my OCs, especially for Twisted Wonderland. I decided, just for a lark, to finally provide a dreamcast of English voices for my major TW OCs. (I probably won’t bother with Japanese voices...at least, not right now.) I decided to go with voice actors who primarily work in video games and anime dubs, and I wanted to make sure they had done recent work that felt like it matched the age range of the characters. With help from various people, and a lot of research, I think I’ve finally figured out the voices. SO...here is the Dreamcast of headcanon voices for my Twisted Wonderland OCs.
Nakoda Spivak = Landon McDonald
Initially, I was going to give this to Daman Mills, but after I reminded myself of McDonald’s voice in “Bungo Stray Dogs,” and then listened to his work in “Demon Slayer” and a couple of other places, I chose him, instead. I don’t know if McDonald can sing, but in terms of his speaking voice, it is EXACTLY how I would imagine Nakoda to sound...provided you just give him those tell-tale hisses. ;) Billy Géant = Stephen Fu
I love Stephen Fu from a few roles, but it was specifically his work as Noe in “The Case Study of Vanitas” that made me choose him here. His voice in that role has a certain mixture of grit and resonant depth that I felt Billy needed, but it’s still light and young, which I also felt was needed. In that specific role, he also shows two different sides: Noe is one half gooberish cinnamon bun who can be insanely cute and sweet, and the other half is...well...a vampire. A very, VERY powerful, strong, and dangerous vampire. He can flip on a dime from downright TERRIFYING to just the cutest little guy in the world. That’s EXACTLY what Billy should be: one moment a big loveable dunderheaded child, the next a rage-fueled disaster machine who can be fiery or icy depending on the situation.
Elias Inque = Brandon Johnson
I only just recently discovered Johnson for his work as the title role in “Skeleton Knight in Another World.” That role alone was all it took to convince me. In the part of Arc, the main character, he proves to be equal parts an over-the-top pseudo-villainous ham, a somewhat goofy and geeky sort, and a fairly down-to-Earth, rational person...AND, surprisingly, a massive glutton who is CONSTANTLY thinking of food. That’s basically Eli in a nutshell. I can even imagine him using his “normal voice” for Arc as Elias, while he transitions into his “bold knight” voice for when Eli becomes the Phantom Blot. Seems fitting.
Reno Rovar = Adam Gold
I really don’t know Adam Gold well at all. However, after @belliesandburps shared with me clips of him from “Cookie Run,” I was convinced. Case closed.
James Killian = Ricco Fajardo
Initially, I was going to cast Kieran Flitton here, even though I’ll confess I don’t know Flitton very well. Things changed when I discovered Fajardo’s work as Achilles in the game “Smite.” I knew Fajardo already from a few places, but it was Achilles in “Smite” that convinced me. Just like with McDonald as Nakoda, the instant I heard his work in that role, all I could think of was, “that’s James. That is EXACTLY how James should sound.” Heck, even some of his dialogue sounds like stuff James would say, in PRECISELY the way James WOULD say it! So that settled things in an instant.
Smitty McCarthy = Joshua Waters
Waters is a bit of an odd one here. This is a case where it’s less one or two specific ROLES that convinced me, and just the actor in general. I was most heavily influenced by his work as Miyano in “Sasaki & Miyano.” The soft, “smol” voice he uses for Miya in that show sounds very much like how I would imagine Smitty often sounding. The energy is different - Miyano’s personality is NOT the same as Smitty’s - but the specific SOUND, the QUALITY of the voice, is just about on the money. Knowing Waters’ other work, I think he’s a fine choice.
Maelstrom Baleno = Kellen Goff
I know Kellen Goff best for playing Sasaki in “Sasaki & Miyano” and Overhaul in “My Hero Academia.” Neither is  the voice I imagine for Maelstrom. XD Much like Joshua Waters as Smitty, this is a case where it’s less about a specific role, and more about the actor. Goff has an INCREDIBLE range, and can do a lot of really cool things with his voice that you wouldn’t guess just hearing his neutral, natural tones. It was a combination of hearing a few roles of his, including his characters in Cookie Run, Volke from Fire Emblem, Glamrock Freddy, and a few others that made me decide he could, very likely, handle Maelstrom. While his natural voice is quite light, he’s shown he can bring depth and danger to a voice with ease, so while he may be unconventional as a choice, he seems possible to me.
Theodore Hamilton = Jalen K. Cassell
Theodore was quite possibly the hardest character to cast. I kept changing the voice right up until the last minute with him. The problem is that Theo is different from my other OCs because he’s based on a female source. Not only that, but it’s a female source with a VERY iconic sort of voice: the Wicked Witch of the West. Whether you go with Mila Kunis or Margaret Hamilton, how does one turn that heckling, cackling, snarling, shrieking voice into the sound of a handsome anime boi? I considered several actors: Brandon McInnis, Chris Guerrero, even a few who ended up with other characters, like Goff and Fu. Jalen K. Cassell won out because he had the right balance of youthfulness and slickness, while also showing the ability to snarl and get vicious and even surprisingly gruff and dusky. And he can cackle with the best of them, as far as his laugh goes; a perfect match for any wicked warlock.
Grit Gravelle = Bryce Papenbrook
This was the easiest voice to choose. Simply put, Grit is a LOT like Shindo from “My Hero Academia.” So it seemed only natural to use Shindo’s voice for his own. Case dismissed. And there you have it, folks! I must admit, I’m slightly unsure about a couple of these voices (specifically Maelstrom and Theo), but the rest seem right on the money and are unlikely to change. Now please, everybody, stop asking. XD

What would happen if they all watched a horror movie headcanons? 👀 Idk why I just love seeing characters watch horror movies together fjfjdgjvj
SID Characters Watching A Horror Movie
- Lance, Walter, and Marcy are having an overnight in Walt's house... and he brought Killian for them to let him enjoy the company while they have to reconstruct his cell.
- Marcy is the one with the popcorn bowl, and she can be a bit jumpy.
- Lance is pretty daring at watching a horror movie, acting like it's not even a problem.
- Just trying to put on his natural face throigh the entire movie.
- The only things that scared him are the non-expecting jumpscares or even the big load of jumpscare when the music stops.
- L: !!!! Fuck-
- Eh, he's not that surprised when some of the characters are expected to die.
- L: Oh no, he ded.
- Walter is the most easily scared out of all the crew, he's not used to jumpscares... especially blood.
- Mostly closes his eyes or even looks somewhere else.
- He's shaking inside his blanket, but Lovey is there to comfort him.
- L: Kid, relax. It's just a movie. It ain't real.
- Lance will try to scare him with a fake jumpscare. "Aurh!"/"Boo!"
- W: NOT FUNNY LANCE!
- Marcy is there shushing them.
- When he hears the music stops, his heart beats fast, he can feel that the jumpscare will appear.
- For short, Walter is jumpy.
- Killian. . . He watched the old horror movies, he got bored. Especially of people screaming all the time.
- To the modern horrors, he's almost like Lance.
- He's the judgemental one in the group.
- K: Why are they letting the kids run around the rickity house without checking it if it's all safe?
K: JUST KILL IT WITH A SHOVEL, DAMMIT!
K: That child never learned about stranger-danger. Where are the parents?
K: WHY DO THESE CHILDREN KEEP TRUSTING CLOWNS?!
K: If I ever found a creepy doll in my home, I would just leave immediately.
K: These adults. . . Have. No. Self. Awareness.
K: YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY YOU IDIOT!!!! IT'S JUST RIGHT THERE!!!!
K: Why didn't you locked the goddamn door?
- He's clearly the critic of every horror movie and will point out the cliches.
- Lance and Marcy can agree with him tho.
- Both of them will be annoyed of Walter screaming.
- W: Ah! Runrunrunrunrun!
L: Jesus Christ-

2, 3, 5 for the fanfic writer asks, please!
Nice question choices, anon!
2. Which of your own fanfics have you reread the most?
the stars through our souls
Error 404: "Little" Brother Not Found (and its two sequels)
...and held her in my arms
To Keep It All The Year
One More Kiss
The Depths of Love
Schadenfreude parts 1 and 2
So basically, silly romcom, funny (and sappy) modern royalty AU, college AU with loads of pining, my favourite fic I wrote, a Lieutenant Duckling enchanted forest AU that I really wish I had time to expand, no-curse angsty divergence, and Neverland smut. Which is me as a reader in a nutshell.
(also yes, I reread myself a lot. Honestly, I think we all should. If you aren't writing things you want to read, what are you even doing?)
3. Describe the differences between your first fanfic and your most recent fanfic.
The first one is an excruciatingly navel-gaze-y take on Killian's life that's thoroughly overwritten. It's pretty clear I didn't know how to write then, though I think you can also see the potential. Once I extricated myself from my own ass things got better. The most recent one(s) if you count WIPs are noticeably less overwrought (though I do still tend towards that sort of thing) and more fun, plus also more complex and with a clear writing style and POV (I hope) because I've been working hard at developing both of those.
Number 5 I answered HERE.

Once Upon A Time
The first character I first fell in love with: Regina! She was the whole reason I started the show, and I really loved her in the second episode and thought she was just a great and refreshing villain at the time.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Hook is weird one to answer for this because I LOVED him when he first showed up in the show and throughout season two. However, subsequent seasons and certain ships made him into my least favorite character on the show and someone who I was vehement anti. So I think the fact that I got back to reclaiming my S2 Hook and him being so special to me again was a really unexpected treat.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Season three and onward Hook, or Killian Jones as the case might be. He just went from my absolute favorite character and villain to one of the worst characters for me. He was alternately a bland and unnecessary love interest for Emma with nothing to do or he was involved in convoluted plots that made the character come off as toxic despite his redemption. It was just a disappointing mess, and I feel like Hook (and Colin, for that matter) deserved a much better written show.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Neal Cassidy. I think he’s just great and one of the only characters who I never felt got poisoned by bad writing or my contempt. He’s charming and likable, he’s flawed and messy but ultimately good, and he’s just a great and very human character. MRJ does such a good job with him.
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: *outstretches arms at the entire main cast of characters* Take your pick. They all apply. I think most notable for me personally is Regina because she was my favorite villain for a while and a character who I was OBSESSED with and the reason I was in the show to begin with. Now, it’s honestly hard for me to care about her. I’m not sure if I need to do what I did with Hook and find a discontinuity point and latch onto the villainous Regina and ignore the rest, or if I just need to accept that she’s never going to be a character who I love again like I used to and just leave it at that.
The character I would totally smooch: Graham. I have a thing for brown haired scruffy guys *looks over at my boyfriend* obviously XD Would definitely also smooch Hook and Neal too. They fine XD
The character I’d want to be like: Cruella De Vil. Give me all the glitzy outfits and let me just party and drive too fast and just be horrible to everyone in the most fashionable way XD That’s all I want in life lol.
The character I’d slap: Charming for what he and Snow did to Maleficent and Lily. Can’t really slap Snow since she’s a woman and I’m not so it’d be really icky to say her, so I’ll stick with just her husband.
A pairing that I love: I’m gonna say fuck all the ship war bullshit and just say my crossover crackship Hook/Jafar, which technically isn’t even crossover since Jafar did show up in S6 and Hook did meet him. He’s not technically the version of Jafar I ship Hook with, but Colin and Oded would have fun chemistry together so I’m cool with non-crossover CaptainSerpent being my favorite OUAT pairing XD
A pairing that I despise: Hook/Emma. I’ve talked it to death. The show is done. I’m not gonna waste time harping on it. Ina  nutshell, I just don’t think they’re right for each other or that they’re interesting story wise or chemistry wise.

As someone who didn't even watch season 7 and really has no care for it one way out another, Colin O'Donoghue is the furthest thing from cold to fans he meets & anyone who says otherwise is either getting information from the wrong source or just straight making things up. Even a good 90% of the s7 antis know this by now just as much as s7 lovers I follow do.
Tumblr media
I mean, that’s really it in a nutshell. The problem isn’t (and never has been) between folks who liked/watched S7 and folks who didn’t. It’s always been between sensible fans (regardless of their feelings on S7) and these kinds of people, who use their hatred of S7 to attack people who enjoyed it, slander those involved in making it, and actively seek to damage the stars’ careers. I mean, there is literally no reason for them to make those kinds of comments on a tweet about an entirely unrelated project, and leave everyone involved with that project tagged, unless they’re hoping to make people he’s worked with feel like maybe it was a bad idea to work with him or to spread their malicious lies to people outside of the Once Upon a Time fandom/world. That’s sick.
So yeah, folks who didn’t watch S7 or even hate-watched it are 100% cool by me. I’ll be their friend. I’ll sit next to ‘em at the fandom table, and even share my juice box with them. But folks who do shit like this? Nuh-uh. They ain’t no fans in MY book, and they need to GTFO with their bullshit.
Incidentally, this is precisely why the O’DonoCrew fandom name was adopted by some people - because these assholes consider themselves to be the “truest” fans of Killian Jones, even while they’re actively slandering the actor who played him. They proudly proclaim themselves to be "true” Hookers, even while they harass and abuse the man who created the character. In other words, if THAT kind of behavior is the “truest” and “best” of Hookers... NO THANK YOU. I’m not that, I don’t wanna be that, I want nothing to do with that, and I will be something else from now on. It was never meant to divide S7 fans from S7 non-fans. It was meant to divide people who support Colin from assholes.

Fic: a life more ordinary -- CH 5
...is it me, or is every time you post something you write a little bit like offering up a piece of yourself on a chopping block? Most of the responses i get are truly lovely, and yet i still feel like that. Every. Time.
Well, here goes nothing.
@profdanglaisstuff - i am finally getting around to the interesting stuff, plot-wise.  i guess.  Took me long enough.  Have i thanked you lately?  Because i SHOULD.  This has been such a loooooooooooooong long road...
CH 1 & 2  |   CH 3  |  CH 4  |  AO3
CHAPTER 5
The owner of the white Ford checks his phone and grimaces. Then he types another message.
Not yet. Can’t get her alone.
It’s the same message he has been sending the past few days, and he’s getting impatient. His employer is getting impatient. He growls in frustration and goes back to watching the sliding glass doors of the clinic.
When they exit the hospital Emma feels a thousand pounds lighter. Killian next to her is actually whistling. On a lark she folds her hand into his, holds it as they walk – for all the world to see.
He doesn’t look at her, but he holds her hand back, and the left corner of his mouth quirks up.
That’s how they arrive at the diner.
And of course that's where everything falls apart.
It happens as they open the door.
A jolt goes through Killian and he stops dead in his tracks. When Emma looks back at him, he has gone pale. His eyes are riveted to a point over her right shoulder.
So she turns around. And sees. A booth with four occupants.
A tall man with close-cropped dark hair is in the process of getting up. Next to him is a woman, laughing. On her lap is an infant. And a blond man with his back to them is starting to turn his head.
Killian is rooted to the spot as the diner door closes softly behind him. He’s staring at the dark-haired man as if they were the only two people in the room.
The man simply nods at him and says, “Killian.” It’s quiet, and yet Emma can feel the reaction ripple through Killian. Tension pulls back his shoulders until his whole body feels brittle and taut. Emma tries to pull her hand out of his grasp, but he won’t let her. If anything, his grip becomes tighter.
It matches his voice when he starts to speak. “Liam,” he says. Just that one word. But it seems to carry unspeakable weight.
So this is Liam.
When Killian starts to walk over to the table, he just pulls her along with him.
The woman looks at Killian with a smile and sparkling eyes and also says “Killian!” but it’s in an entirely different tone of voice. She is happy to see him. Her smile is lovely and welcoming. When Killian looks at her, his face changes to match her warm smile. He even waves at the boy on her knee, before his gaze once again locks with his brother’s.
“What are you doing here?” His tone is not welcoming. It is GoAway in a nutshell. Emma tries to extricate her hand one more time, but Killian’s grip has turned to iron.
Liam raises an eyebrow. “I called Ed and he said you've been here a week. Started your new job. So I thought we’d come down to see you.”
There is a wealth of accusation in that statement. The subtext between the brothers is so loud, it might as well run as closed captioning.
The woman breaks the tension. “Liam,” she says, “please sit down. And Killian, I’m so happy to see you. I’ve been telling Dylan all about you.” With that she lifts the child off her lap and holds him out to Killian. The boy opens his arms and the tension in Killian’s body melts away. He looks at Emma and squeezes her hand before he lets it go and then crouches. His smile is genuine as he says, “hi, Wendy, I missed you.”
And then holds out his finger. The newly-introduced Dylan grabs it immediately and then gurgles and smiles; and Killian’s voice goes soft as he says, “so you’re Dylan then, are you? How are you, my boy?”
Then he winks and the boy sputters a laugh and Emma’s chest tightens as something warm and wonderful tugs at her insides. Killian reaches out and picks up his nephew as if he’d never done anything but hold children his entire life and Emma can’t breathe for a second.
He turns to her with the child on his hip and leans over. “Look, Dylan, this is Emma,” he says. Then he looks at her, and again her breath catches. “Emma,” he says, “meet my nephew.”
Emma freezes on the spot like a deer caught in headlights.
Panic now spreads up her spine and all she can think is, PleaseDon’tMakeMeHoldHim .
She forces a smile and grinds out “nice to meet you”, and Killian’s eyes scan her face like he’s tracking something elusive. He makes no move to hand her the child.
Instead he leans over and whispers into her ear, “please don’t go.”
How did he know Emma was about to bolt?
But there is no way she is leaving now.
She nods at him, and suddenly lots of things happen. Killian hands his nephew back to his mother; and Liam sits down; and the blond man starts to get up, but Liam tells him to stay; and Wendy asks Killian and Emma to please sit and join them; and then Ruby shows up with a tray full of plates.
Killian pulls up a chair for Emma and sits down next to the blond man, who introduces himself as David – the local chief of police and a college friend of Wendy’s – and Emma sits down awkwardly at the head of the table as Ruby hands out plates. Ruby pats Emma on the shoulder before she leaves and Killian’s hand settles on her knee.
“Emma,” he says, and it sounds like he’s girding himself for battle. “This is my brother Liam and his wife Wendy. And you just met Dylan. Liam, Wendy, and… David, was it?” the blond man nods, “this is Emma.”
The way he says Emma feels like a hug. She wants to wrap it around herself like armor.
Then she nods at the table’s occupants and does a little wave. Wendy beams at her. David nods and smiles.
Liam looks her up and down like he’s checking for holes in a second-hand coat.
And then he dives right into it.
“So, Killian, I went down to the harbor earlier, only to find out you weren’t at work today.” A high-profile prosecutor could not have put more accusation into that sentence. Killian’s hand on her knee tightens.
“It’s the off season.” Killian manages to keep his voice steady, but Emma can hear anger vibrate beneath it. “There’s not much to do, and I can make my own hours.”
“You thought it best to start off a new job by playing hooky?”
Killian’s hand on her knee tightens to a near painful squeeze. Emma lays her hand on top of his, rubs her thumb slowly across his knuckles. Killian’s grip lessens a fraction.
“Nobody says hooky, Liam.” The undercurrent of anger is rapidly rising. “What are you, twelve? And although I don’t owe you an explanation, Emma had a doctor’s appointment and I chose to go with her.”
The way he says ‘chose’ is an open invitation for Liam to pounce. Which he does.
“I’d love to have the kind of job where I can just choose to take a day off.”
Killian smiles, and it looks lethal. “Quit the Navy. Become the harbor master of a small tourist town. You’ll be able to take off all the days you want between late October and early April.”
“This is what I get for getting you a job?” Liam leans forward, and there is menace in his bearing. “Attitude? From you?” He spits the last part as if Killian weren’t worthy to be dragged along the soles of his shoes.
“I never asked you to get me a job,” Killian replies, and the anger has finally bubbled all the way to the top. “And if memory serves, all you did was give me Ed’s number. I interviewed for it. Twice. And got it on my merits.”
Liam draws breath, but his wife lays a hand on his arm. “Liam, stop it,” she says. “This is not why we’re here.” She turns to Killian and Emma. “It’s very nice to meet you, Emma. How did you two meet?”
From out of the corner of her eyes Emma can see Killian start to answer, and she just knows he is going to be chivalrous and prevaricate. For her. But she doesn’t want to hide, and she doesn’t want Killian to have to bend the truth on her behalf, so she squares her shoulders, and answers before Killian speaks.
“I hitched a ride with him, back in Tallahassee. So I guess we met on the side of a road.” Under the table she squeezes Killian’s hand. He squeezes her knee back. Then she smiles at Liam and thinks, bring it.
Liam does not disappoint. “ What? ” He seems to grow in size, the way he straightens up and puffs out his chest, like a bird ruffling its feathers. His next words are directed at Killian, not Emma, whom he spares not a glance.
“Are you fucking kidding me, Killian?” His voice could easily cut glass. “It’s not enough that you get yourself kicked out of the Navy because you have less impulse control than my son, no– the first thing you do is go out and hook up with a transient?” It’s painfully clear that he doesn’t mean ‘transient’. He means gutter trash.
“Just you wait,” he goes on, his voice brimming with disdain, “a few weeks from now she’ll claim you knocked her up and you’ll be paying child support for the rest of your life. And be well and truly screwed.”
Wendy’s breath catches and she hisses, “ Liam! ”
Emma’s whole body snaps taut like a wire. That last poison arrow Liam shot hit her square in the chest.
David looks like he wants to disappear into the back rest of the booth. Emma feels bad for him for the briefest of moments, because if she’s mortified – and she is -- it must be so much worse for him. He looks like a nice guy, except for the stunned expression on his face; the kind of expression a person can get when they just wanted to spend some time with friends and instead suddenly find themselves stuck in a Lifetime Family Drama.
The muscles in Killian’s jaw jump and his hand folds around Emma’s. He turns to her and gives her a small smile for comfort and then looks back at Liam; and even in profile Emma can hardly believe the way his face changes. It’s suddenly made of granite and steel.
“Liam,” his voice is quiet and dangerous, “insult me all you want. All day, every day, to your heart’s content. I never get tired of you expounding upon what a disappointment I am.” Killian’s voice drops even lower, and menace starts to drip from every word like blood from an open wound. “But if you ever say anything derogatory about Emma again, anything at all, I will not speak to you again. For the rest of my life. Is that clear?”
He is deadly serious. This is not a bluff. Emma shudders.
Then he stands and pulls Emma up with him. His smile turns cordial but genuine as he nods at David.
“I am so sorry for my part in this uncomfortable situation. I’m sure you were looking forward to a friendly meal. I’m afraid I may have ruined that, but I will come see you at the station later this week, if that’s OK? I’ve been meaning to stop by and get to know the local police force.”
David manages a smile. “Please do. Happy to meet you.”
Liam seems to have gathered his wits again and cuts in, “oh please, Killian.  Stop the dramatics and sit down already. Nobody cares. You’re acting like a spoiled child. We can just---”
Killian looks at him and Liam breaks off halfway through his tirade. Emma can’t see Killian’s face, but Liam actually blanches.
Then Killian looks at Wendy and Dylan and his face becomes wistful, and not a little sad. He bends over and kisses Wendy on the cheek. “I am so sorry, love. But it’s best to leave now, before I say something I cannot take back. Take care, OK?” He runs his knuckles down Dylan’s cheek. “You be good to your mother, hear me?”
Then he straightens back up. “Liam, I wish I could say this was a pleasure. But we both know what this was, so let’s not pretend. Have a safe trip home.”
And with that he turns and leaves the diner towards the back staircase, dragging Emma behind him.
In Emma’s room Killian collapses into the arm chair and pulls Emma down on his lap. His breath comes in stuttering gasps, and his eyes are squeezed shut. Emma runs a hand up the back of his neck, massaging his scalp. Her other hand rubs up and down the arm that is wrapped tightly around her waist.
They stay like that for minutes, before she gathers herself and quietly says, “I’m so sorry.”
His eyes snap open.
“Emma.” His voice is unsteady. “Please don’t. This is not--- none of this is your fault.”
“I can’t help feeling I started it. I should have kept my mouth shut.”
“You told the truth. That’s not--- that’s never the wrong thing to do.” He sighs. “It’s a good thing you did. I wasn’t going to. And I would have been wrong not to.”
“But I caused a rift between you.”
He laughs. It is bitterness made sound. “Love, that wasn’t you. That rift started a long time ago. You had nothing to do with it. Nothing at all.”
But the fight is not the only reason Emma is sorry. And the other reason weighs more.
“I almost left,” she whispers. “I almost left you with them, with him. I’ve done nothing but lean on you since we fucking met, and then--- and then----” She has to take a deep breath. “And then you had to ask me to stay. I’m the worst person ever.” Hormones have nothing to do with her eyes getting wet. Emma is well and truly ashamed.
“Oh, love,” he says, and then they both hear a voice hesitantly calling “Killian?” from the hallway. It sounds like Wendy.
“Number 8,” Killian calls out. “Come on in!”
The door opens slowly, and it is Wendy who enters, Dylan on her hip, her eyes large and sad.
“So,” she says, shaking her head, “that went well.”
Killian makes no move to get up, nor to displace Emma from his lap, but he motions for Wendy to take a seat on the bed. She sits on the edge and lets Dylan go; and they all watch as the boy starts to chew on a fold of the comforter.
Killian’s hand moves from her waist and settles on Emma’s belly. It is a completely unconscious gesture. It’s not until he hears Emma’s sharp intake of breath that his gaze snaps to hers. He starts to pull back immediately, but Emma stays his hand, and the look in his eyes becomes soft and he smiles.
“How far along are you?” Wendy’s eyes are on Killian’s hand.
“Sixteen weeks,” he answers, “and before you ask, I met Emma not even ten days ago. You can do the math.”
Wendy nods and Killian shakes his head. “God, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be rude. I shouldn’t take my issues with Liam out on you.”
“It’s quite alright,” Wendy’s voice is warm, and free of accusation. “It’s not like I have no experience with the Jones’ brand of stubbornness.” She holds up a hand, stops Killian’s reply in its tracks. “Don’t. Today’s mess is all on your brother, and he knows it.”
Killian quirks an eyebrow. Wendy smirks. “Or rather, he will know it. Soon.”
Killian laughs, and then Wendy laughs, and then Emma cracks a grin; and suddenly the air in the room seems much lighter than before.
And then Wendy grows serious again. “Please don’t cut us out of your life.” She picks up her son, walks over to them. “I have no desire for this one to grow up without a fun uncle.” And in one fell swoop she deposits the boy on Emma’s lap.
Emma goes stiff as a board. She feels as if she would honestly be more comfortable with a live grenade in his place. Whereas Killian reaches out immediately, and tickles his belly. The boy gurgles happily and raises his arms and then falls against Emma’s own belly, laughing.
Emma is still wishing for a live grenade. Seriously.
Wendy crouches down next to her and takes her hand.
“This a bit much for you?” She asks gently. Emma can’t even look at her. All she can do is nod. “Don’t worry about it.” Wendy sounds calm and assured. “It’s alright to be apprehensive. But that’ll change with your own little one, you’ll see.”
Emma can’t breathe. The small human on her lap is blowing spit bubbles and smiling at Killian, holding his finger.
“And Killian is a good man,” Wendy continues. “I can see that neither one of you planned any of this, but--” she picks up her son and swings him back onto her hip—“that does not mean it was not meant to be. Do yourselves a favor.” She looks at both in earnest. “Don’t let anyone tell you what you ought to be. In life, and to each other. You get to decide that. Nobody else. Just you.”
Try as she might, Emma can’t hold back her goddamn tears, again . Killian buries his nose in her hair, and from the way he is breathing she can tell he’s just as moved by this as she is.
“Also,” Wendy winks at Emma, “there is absolutely no winning against hormones, so cry all you want. You on the other hand,” she points her chin at Killian, “have no excuse. Other than being the sap that you are.”
Killian barks a laugh, and so does Emma, and she suddenly feels loose and buoyant and--- happy .
Killian’s hand settles back on her belly, and it feels good there, and right. Like it belongs.
“Thank you so much.” Emma cannot put into words how grateful she is, so she leaves it at that, and hopes the look she gives Wendy conveys enough. Killian echoes “thank you” in a husky voice, and Wendy turns to go.
“We’ll head back now,” she says, turning in the doorway. “But I’m expecting you both for Thanksgiving dinner. No excuses. Is that understood?”
Killian nods.
“That’s an order, lieutenant.”
He smiles. “Yes, ma’am.”
“Good,” she says. “It was lovely to meet you, Emma. You both take care and we’ll see you soon.”
She closes the door softly behind her.
“So…..” Emma breaks the silence long moments later. “I’m thinking there is a whole lot of backstory I might be missing here.”
Killian grins at her. “Just a tad. Not nearly enough to fill a Greek Tragedy.”
“How boring. And here I was hoping Euripides himself could have borrowed your plot.” He laughs out loud and then his eyes turn thoughtful.
“Did you finish high school, love?”
Emma shakes her head no.
“And yet you throw Euripides around like it's part of casual conversation?”
“Let’s just say that the reason I didn’t finish had nothing to do with my grades,” she says. “And you’re a clever one, trying to avoid the subject. Which you can’t.”
She gets up and pulls Killian with her. Walks over to the bed and pushes him down, until they are both lying on top of the blankets, facing each other.
“Now that we’re more comfortable, Mr. Jones---“ she smirks at him, “do you think you may want to talk to me?” Her eyes grow serious and her voice drops to a whisper. “It might help.”
“There’s really not much to tell,” he sighs. “Our mother died when I was very young, and my father did not take it well. He managed to drink himself to death a few short years later.”
Emma puts her hand on his side, but his breathing is calm and measured. This is not a bleeding wound, not anymore.
“Liam was almost eighteen when he died, so he got custody of me. I was thirteen and angry and Liam was totally unprepared for the kind of resentment I dished up. He really did his best, and I owe him. So much.” He sighs again, and Emma tightens her hand on his hip. “But somehow our relationship changed from brothers to--- well, more like father and son. And it stayed that way even after I grew up. Even after I joined the Navy. He could never let go of that, and I guess at some point this became a real problem.”
His hand wanders down her arm, folds into hers.
“So you see, this rift has been decades in the making. He thinks he has to keep taking care of me, and he resents me for it. I think he still sees me as the thirteen-year-old fuck up, and I resent him for it. And getting cashiered didn’t help. It just confirmed all his suspicions.”
He exhales, long and exhausted. “I don’t know how to fix it. I don’t know if I want to.” He looks tired and worn and hopeless, and Emma moves on instinct.
She leans forward to kiss him, slow and soft and tender. Because she wants to. And she means it. He responds in kind, languid and warm and unhurried. His hand wraps into her hair, pulls her closer, and she goes willingly.
When they break apart, his eyes are wide and dark, and she smiles.
“I know it's not time, yet,” she whispers. “Not for either one of us. Not yet. But soon.”
His smile may be the most beautiful thing she has ever seen.
“Now turn around.”
He looks at her in confusion as she sits up and starts to draw the blanket out from under them. When she sees his questioning eyes, she grins.
“It's your turn for some comfort,” she says softly, and pushes back on his shoulder until he lies down with his back to her.
She wraps herself around him for a change, pulls up the covers and kisses the back of his neck.
“Go to sleep,” she says. “The answers will come in time.”
She doesn't know what makes her so sure.
But she knows she is right.
She wraps her arm around his middle, and he takes her hand, and that's how they fall asleep.
   Nothing? Says the message.
Not a chance. He texts back. Not like this.
Fine. Comes the reply. Then it's time for Plan B.
Will take a little while to set up.
Do what you have to.
The man smirks and turns over the ignition and the decrepit white Ford makes its way out of Storybrooke. But it doesn't go far.
“Tell me you were not going to lift that.”
Emma looks up, biting her lip; but all he can see is her hand, wrapped around the handle of the heavy mop bucket in front of her, filled to the brim with dirty water.
“No, don't worry,” she says, and starts to roll the bucket, “there's a drain in the back.”
It is three weeks later. Halloween has come and gone, Ruby has returned to New York, and the last of the tourists have left Storybrooke. The town has changed; its pace even slower, now that the residents are back out. They have had a wonderfully relaxed, leisurely time; with Killian spending his days at the diner and his nights wrapped around Emma, kissing and cuddling and taking their time.
It's a lovely new experience, not having to rush, although waking up is getting harder. And harder.
“Here, let me help you.”
Emma straightens up and gives him a pointed look. She has a definite bump now, her T-shirt stretched across her middle, and her expression is firm. “I can tip over a bucket myself.”
He bites down on the grin threatening to split his face, because she's formidable when riled up like that, and that's half of the reason he does it.
She bends down towards the bucket and then suddenly goes, “oh.”
He's by her side in an instant. When she straightens up there's an odd expression on her face; but she doesn't seem to be in pain. It's more of a figuring look.
Then a small shudder goes through her and again she says, “oh!”, and starts to rub a spot on her side. When she turns to look at him her eyes are wide, and full of wonder.
“I just felt a kick,” she whispers.
His breath catches. “For the first time?”
“I've felt flutters before,” she says. “But nothing like this.” Her smile is wide, and she pulls his hand towards her belly. “Here,” she says. “Maybe he'll do it again.”
He raises an eyebrow. “He?”
“I just have a feeling,” she answers. “That first time I saw the monitor, I just got this feeling that it was a boy.” She looks down. “I know it's silly, but---”
And then he feels it. It's slight and tenuous, but it's there.
Life.
“Killian,” she says, and it's a tone of voice he has not heard before. She is looking straight at him, eyes still full of wonder--- and something else altogether. Something hungry. “Killian, it's time.”
“Time for what, love?”
She just looks at him, as if he is being very, very stupid. And then she launches herself at him, her lips crashing down on his, her hand fisting into his hair, and she kisses him and kisses him and kisses him until his brain catches up to what is happening. Oh, he is so very, very stupid.
He pulls back, and he wants to ask if she's sure, but the look she gives him removes all doubt.
Then he picks her up and her legs wrap around his waist; and he stumbles them all the way up the stairs and down the hallway and into her room. He puts her down on the bed and she leans back in invitation and god--- he has never been so ready.
Her hair is tangled and her lips are so red and her eyes are so dark and she just smiles at him, waiting.
With a growl he pushes her up towards the headboard and lies down beside her. He runs his hand over her swollen breasts, teasing the nipples until she moans and writhes and pulls him in for another blistering kiss.
His hand wanders down the swell of her belly and then cups her mound and her back arches up.
She's as ready as he is. More, even.
She sits up and he pulls off her T-shirt and he has to stop for a moment, because she looks so, so beautiful.
But then her hands grip the hem of his sweater and the rest of their clothes come off in record time, and her fingers run up his spine, and her mouth trails down his neck, finding his pulse point and biting down hard, and he groans and has to grip the pillow for dear life.
His fingers start to tease inside her, and god – she's so so so ready.
She bites his earlobe, stutters “please, Killian, please”, and he enters her in one swift motion. And nearly loses it right then and there.
He has wanted this for such a long time.
Her legs wrap around him and pull, and pull; as he finds a rhythm, as she matches his thrusts, as she pulls him in tighter and higher and higher; and she bites down on her fist as her back arches off the mattress; and she swallows her scream, her eyes closed, her mouth open; and right there, right there, right there----
He lets go.
It hits him like a ton of bricks, white light explodes behind his eyes, and he has never, he has never...
When he comes back to himself, he's draped halfway across her, boneless and sated and thoroughly spent.
And happy.
Just. Happy.
She looks up at him, disheveled and oh so lovely and just as spent as he is. And smiles. “Oh, we are doing that again.”
“As soon as humanly possible.” He slides to her side and starts to rub her belly. “Was it OK? I wasn't too heavy?”
“You were perfect.” Her eyes are shining, and then her grin turns wicked. “And there are so many more things we can try.”
He knows he is not eighteen anymore, but he swears he can feel parts of him try to twitch again.
“We definitely, definitely will. Try everything. Preferably on every available surface.”
She smiles. “I'm so glad we agree.” Then she shudders. The room is chilly and they're both cooling fast.
He pulls the covers up over them both and then they just lie there – their legs tangled, their fingertips slowly whispering across warm, naked skin.
A feeling of contentment such as he has never known spreads warm through his chest, and he realizes right then and there that he is falling in love.
The next morning they are late coming down to Granny's, and she holds out the phone to him as Emma puts on her apron.
“Someone on the line for you,” she says, trying to sound disapproving, but failing. He knows the feeling. No one, no one could possibly look at Emma's shining face and disapprove. Not even Granny.
Emma is in the middle of making cappucinos when he returns to the counter and hands Granny the phone.
“I have to go down to the harbor,” he says. “Seems there is a dispute over moorings. Last night a boat with no slip permit came in and just dropped anchor, so I have to get some actual work done.”
“That's a shame,” Emma says, licking her bottom lip. She has the definite potential to be the death of him someday.
Granny rolls her eyes. “Shoo,” she waves at Killian. “Go and get. Maybe that way we can all get some work done.”
It takes him most of the day to sort everyone out.
When he returns to the diner it is past 5 pm and darkness has fallen. He catches himself whistling as he walks back, and he doesn't even try to hide his smile along the way.
Granny is alone behind the counter when he enters, and this time her look is definitely disapproving.
“Listen, bucko,” she says, giving him a stern once-over, “I'm happy you two lovebirds are finally getting along.” There is absolutely no mistaking her meaning, and he has to bite down on his grin. “But that's no reason to blow off an afternoon.”
The words sink in slowly. It takes him a minute to catch up to them.
“What do you mean?” He finally hears himself asking.
“Your bird went to see you on her lunch break and never came back. And I want to make it perfectly clear---” Granny's voice trails off when she sees Killian's face.
He can't move.
Can't breathe.
Because something is very, very wrong. He can feel it in his bones.
“She never came to see me.”
He leaves Granny's stunned face behind and runs. Through the back, up the staircase, down the hallway, IWasJustHereLastNight, EmmaInMyArms, and then he bursts through her door.
The bed is made.
Her clothes are neatly folded in the dresser.
Her bag is half filled with laundry, stored under the desk.
Everything is exactly like they left it that morning.
Exactly.
And Emma is gone.

Kinda have to agree with your previous anon there, a lot of the criticism is mostly out on emma during s5 and s6 comes off not good? like they make her out to be someone who abuses hook or what not? also just villanizes the cs relationship, people really don’t understand that we don’t want to see that? especially since most of it is coming from s7 stans who don’t like cs anymore?
ok, anon, I’m going to use your ask to state my opinion on a number of things and I sincerely hope that neither you nor anyone else will be personally offended by any of it but I’m not the kind of person that keeps quiet about anything so..
I approached my first ask without any prejudice and hopefully the anon can make some use of the blogs I recommended and the other recommended in the replies. But I got something out of that post as well because the awesome people I tagged and a bunch of others put into a nutshell the current “problem” we seem to have - some fans want a completely positive and happy fandom experience without criticism of their favourites and with joyful immersion and acceptance of canon, other fans like to view everything critically, discuss and dissect and speculate on how what they see as flaws in canon could have been fixed or avoided.
There is nothing wrong with that. There are blogs that are criticism-free and they are wonderful places. Hell, I’m a really damn positive person and I think that I mostly keep to the joy and love side of things as well. However, I have no problem seeing discourse, criticism and even some negativity on my dash either. I don’t think this variety is a problem at all, I think it’s part of the beauty of fandom. Yes, I have unfollowed people who spend more time posting negativity than positivity about something I love but even then I’ve never judged those people for being disappointed by a show/fandom and venting. That’s what the follow/unfollow buttons are for - so one can curate one’s dash to one’s tastes.
(here I want to add though that discourse and criticism does not always equal negativity and being critical of a relationship/character does not always equal vilifying them. And neither equal hate most of the time. I think you went a bit too far there.)
That being said, there is a problem and that problem is people who claim what does and what does not constitute a fan. Being an OUAT fan, a CS shipper or a Hook stan is not a freaking bachelor’s degree and there are no exams you need to take to qualify. A blog can post 100% CS 100% of the time and love every single interaction Hook and Emma have had. Another blog can post 20% CS, 25% HQ, 10% Red Swan and 45% other fandom stuff and prefer CS’s dynamic is S6 to their dynamic before that. If both those blogs consider themselves CS fans - they are both CS fans. They don’t need to prove their “faithfullness” to CS to me or you or anyone else. That’s just not how shipping does or should work.
I agree with some of your ask - I do understand why some fans don’t want to see Emma criticism or a dissection of the CS relationship - that’s their prerogative. However, your “vilifying” and s7 comments completely lost me because they resemble exactly one of those “you are not a fan anymore” statements that I don’t know if I should rage at or just roll my eyes at this point. Unless someone says they no longer like CS there is no reason for you to assume they no longer like CS or accuse them of that. Matter of fact, there is no reason to assume anything or accuse anyone of anything. You don’t like what they post - don’t follow.
I do not like or support this unnecessary tension between people with different preferences. I’m the kind of person who considered herself a Spuffy shipper even though I hated Buffy a whole lot of the time and thought they were both monstrously abusive to each other in S6. I made Spuffy videos but I also made Bangel videos. Yeah, that’s right. I didn’t even ship Bangel. Yet I spent hours and hours years ago watching and editing footage of them kissing and fucking to romantic songs. Why? Cuz I felt like it. Cuz I liked making videos. Cuz fandom should be a safe place that encourages creativity and discourse in every direction and doesn’t censor anything that isn’t harmful to people. The more we talk and create - the more we have to choose from. And the choice is yours.
And last just for the hell of it - I’m a person who considers herself a hardcore CS shipper, the Neverland Renaissance gives me life, Killian Jones deserves all the love in the world, I loved S7, I love Wish Hook and Rogers just as much as I love the first Killian Jones we met, I understand why Emma did all the wrong and questionable things she did in S5, I understand why Killian hates himself for all the wrong and questionable things he did in S5, I support multi-shipping, I support monogamous shipping, I love Emma Swan more than I have ever loved a female character, I read Killian whump without an ounce of guilt and love the everloving fuck out of it, I think the whole “Killian killed her granddad” plot was unnecessary and contrived and horrible, I think the speech Emma gave Killian when she found out was perfect, I think her giving him back the ring was too much, I think we should’ve had Henry call Killian dad, I think Snow was a bad mom to Emma 80% of the time, I would’ve loved to see Detective Rogers with Tiana or Regina, I cried when Rumple gaveRoger’s his heart, I think Emma is often not attentive enough to Killian’s feelings, I think her “he has one hand” comment was horrific, I think Killian should’ve learnt to stop keeping secrets after the Zelena debacle, I think Emma should have learnt that Killian would never leave her by S6, I think S5 is what proved how much Emma Swan loves Killian Jones, I think Killian deserved to have Nemo and Smee and his brother at their wedding, Emma saying “I will find you, Killian. I will always find you.” is probably the greatest moment of my shipping existence, I like Alice better than Hope for a CS daughter, I love seeing posts, fanfic and fanart on my dashboard that express an array of opinions because that is part of shipping for me, I completely understand and respect people who prefer to keep their shipping completely “clean” and positive.
I think we should stop telling people how to love things and spend that time finding the right people to surround ourselves with and telling them how much we love talking to them, watching their videos, reading their metas and fanfics and being part of this multifaceted fandom.

Thanks for the asks!
7) Do you have any ships you can’t stand?
Oh, this is tough. Because while Rumbelle was most certainly my NOTP from S4 onwards, I was mostly okay with them during the first three seasons.  And while I am strongly opposed to Swanfire as a romantic ship, I probably could have tolerated it as a civil exes kinda deal had Neal lived (as long as Neal was held accountable for what he did to Emma).
I think I might have to go with Swan Queen for this one.  While there were moments when I was able to stomach a scene with them interacting from time to time (this is particularly true during the episodes set in the Underworld) I was largely irritated with the show’s attempt to paint Regina as Emma’s friend.  Most of the time, this ‘friendship’ consisted of Regina making snide comments at Emma that either poked fun at her past or directly insulted her.  It was particularly laughable when Regina acted as if she was somehow above Emma in terms of rank, considering Regina only became queen because she stole the throne that actually belongs to Emma by birthright.  In a nutshell, this so-called ‘friendship’ is practically a textbook example of the old saying ‘with friends like that, who needs enemies?’
12) Who is your least favorite character(s)?
Gotta go with Gothel.  Because as much as I loathe Rumpelstiltskin and Regina, they both still had their moments when I was willing to give them a pass.  But Gothel was completely reprehensible from start to finish, with absolutely no redeeming qualities.
Honorable mention goes to Cora, as she was probably one of the only villains I had absolutely no sympathy for.  And I think I internally groaned every time she popped back up in the show.  (I’m pretty sure I even let out an agonized moan when she appeared in the Wonderland spin-off)
25)Thoughts on Jiminy Cricket?
Largely neutral.  While I don’t even remotely hate him, he’s not one of my favorites, either.  To me, he’s just kinda there.  Like Doc and Happy.  Although, I do remain a bit confused on why he seems to be the go-to guy when they need someone to officiate a wedding.  Him as the town therapist made sense. Him as the town wedding officiator, not so much.
26)  What surprise shocked you most?
LOL! Okay, while I’m sure there’s probably something else that surprised me more and it’s just not coming to me, I’m going to go with the first thing that popped into my head.  And that would be the reveal that the pirate captain that was introduced in 2x04 was Captain Hook.  This is probably a testament to how I can sometimes be slow on the draw, but the first time I watched that episode, I had no idea that I was looking at the man who would soon become the famous Captain Hook.  I spent the majority of the episode thinking that Killian Jones was just going to be a one-off character.  Like that Hordor guy from 1x08.  It wasn’t until that moment after Rumpelstiltskin teleported off after murdering Milah, where the camera focused on Killian picking up the fallen rigging hook that it finally clicked.  And my jaw quite literally dropped.
31) Who has the best banter?
I answered this one here.

CS 12 Days of Christmas: Day 6
Prompt: lost Christmas spirit
Summary:  It's official: Emma Swan was dating the Grinch. Or rather, she was dating Killian Jones, the formerly villainous Captain Hook, who had somehow morphed into the Grinch.  This takes place somewhere during those six week between 4a and 4b. In this case, the events of 4a happened a little before Christmas and have put Killian is quite the funk. This one went a little off the rails, but hopefully in an entertaining way. Around 4,600 words.
FF AO3
DeGrinchifying a Pirate
It was official: Emma Swan was dating the Grinch. Or rather, she was dating Killian Jones, the formerly villainous Captain Hook, who had somehow morphed into the Grinch.
It had all started with the arrival of the Snow Queen. And then Killian had had his heart ripped out his chest by Mr. Gold. Forced to do his oldest enemy's bidding and nearly losing his life in the end. Emma's blood still went cold when she remembered how it had felt to stand there, frozen, while Mr. Gold had tried to crush Killian's heart. Would have, if it hadn't been for Belle.
Killian hadn't been the same since. Before all of this began, Emma had been telling Killian about the holidays of this realm and he'd seemed very interested in Christmas. Had even been excited about it.
That was no longer the case.
Now as the holiday was coming closer, everything about it seemed to irritate him. He'd been so grouchy and distant lately. Emma couldn't say she blamed him. Whenever his attitude began to get on her nerves, she tried to remember what he'd just been through. She couldn't say that she'd be any better under the same circumstances. She probably would have turned into the Grinch too.
But she'd so wanted Killian to enjoy his first Christmas. It was a good thing that Belle had banished Mr. Gold from Storybrooke because otherwise Emma would have been tempted to go after him. Thinking about Mr. Gold and what he'd done to Killian, not to mention what he'd tried to do to her, pissed her off.
It was better for her blood pressure if she didn't think about it. Especially since Belle had banished him from Storybrooke. He was now out in the land without magic and unable to hurt either Emma or Killian.
But what was she going to do about Killian? Emma was still trying to wrap her head around the two of them being in a relationship. She had finally stopped running. Had finally let herself admit that she was falling in love with him. She couldn't let herself consider the possibility that she might be in love with him already. For whatever reason, she was a little more comfortable with the notion that she was still falling for him instead of already being in love with him.
Emma imagined that if she tried to explain this to anyone else that they would think she was insane. Maybe she was.
Whatever. Her sanity, or lack thereof, wasn't the problem right now. Killian was. Mr. Gold had succeeded in turning Killian into the Grinch. So now Emma had to figure out how to de-Grinchify him.
She walked into Granny's, finding playing darts. It seemed like he was always playing darts lately. If you could call it that. He wasn't so much throwing the darts as he was hurling them at the board as hard as he could. Emma couldn't help thinking that he pictured Mr. Gold's face on the dartboard and that's why he threw them so hard. When he went to retrieve the darts he'd thrown, his face was set with that scowl that had become his usual expression.
Emma sighed before working up the nerve to go to him. She could do this. She could be the supportive girlfriend. She could de-Grinchify him.
She hoped.
"Hey," Emma said, brightly as she walked up to him.
"Swan," he replied, brusquely.
"You okay?" she asked.
"Aye."
"Killian?"
"What?"
"Are you going to look at me?" He merely glanced at her before throwing his next dart.
Okay, now she was annoyed.
"That's it," she said, moving to stand directly in front of him.
"What the bloody hell do you think you're doing?" He asked. "I could have hit you."
"Oh good, you are capable of saying more than one word," she said.
"Swan," he sighed.
"Stop it. I know that you've been through a lot lately, but at some point, you're going to have to talk to me," she said. This was evidently the wrong thing to say.
"Coming from the woman who kept avoiding me after we brought Marian back. Are you serious, Swan?" he asked.
Fair enough.
"Yes. If there's one thing that you acting like the Grinch has taught me, it's that being avoided sucks," she answered. "You've been avoiding me and I don't like it."
"Well, forgive me for not being at your every beck and call," he said, sarcastically. "And who the hell is the Grinch?"
"That's the guy who stole Christmas," she said.
"I am hardly trying to steal Christmas," Killian said, rolling his eyes.
"No, you're just pissed off most of the time," she shot back. "I just can't figure out who you're mad at. Mr. Gold? Or me?"
"This is hardly the place for this discussion, Swan," he said.
"Fine. Then let's go up to your room," she said, surprising him.
"You've never been in my room," he pointed out. It was true. She hadn't.
"Well, there's a first time for everything. Come on." Emma held her hand out to him. "Please."
"Fine."
They didn't speak as they headed up to the room he'd been staying in at Granny's. Emma's eyes were immediately drawn to his bed, knowing that it was only a matter of time before they took that next step. They'd kissed plenty, but they hadn't had sex yet. That was something they had talked about. Emma hadn't been sure how much he knew about sex in this land, in regards to things like condoms. So she'd educated him on the subject, which had been slightly awkward but they'd gotten through it.
And they would get through this one.
"You can sit down," he said, interrupting her thoughts. "If you'd like."
"Thanks," she said, choosing to sit on the edge of the bed. "Are you going to join me or what?" There were a few seconds where she thought he wouldn't, but then he sat down beside her. No sense beating around the bush, Emma thought. Might as well jump right in. "Are you mad at me?"
"Why would I be mad at you?" he asked, sounding tired.
"Oh I don't know. For not figuring out what was wrong with you? For waiting to put your heart back into your chest?" Emma still cringed when she thought about how she'd made him wait until they'd gotten back to Granny's to give him back his heart. Even now she couldn't understand why she'd waited.
"I'm not mad at you, Swan."
"You...you're not?" she asked.
"No. I'm mad at myself," he admitted. "Alright?"
"What for?" she wanted to know.
"I was weak. I let myself be manipulated by the Crocodile and almost lost you because of it," Killian said. "All because I wanted my hand back for our date. I wanted to be whole for you. That's how this all began."
"You know, Killian, for what it's worth? I don't think of you as not being whole. I mean, it doesn't bother me that you only have one hand," Emma said, frowning a second later. "I mean, I hate that Gold took your hand, don't get me wrong. I can't imagine what that must have been like for you. But Killian, when I look at you? When I look at this?" She reached for his hook and held it, relieved when he didn't try to pull away. "I see a man who has been through a lot, survived a lot. You don't let it hold you back. You figure it out. You...you're one of the most resilient people I've ever met and that's one of the things I lo-" Emma's eyes widened at what had almost come out of her mouth. "Um, that's one of the things I like about you."
"You really don't mind this? You wouldn't rather I had a hand instead?" He pressed, nodding at his hook. "This is a weapon, you do realize that."
"I do," she acknowledged. "That doesn't scare me."
"No?"
"No," she confirmed. "It's only a weapon when you use it as one. You don't hurt people with that unless you're trying to. You've never used it to hurt me. I trust you, Killian. And besides, it's...well."
"What?" He asked.
"It's sexy, okay? I don't know why it is, but it is," she said, blushing a little now. "It doesn't bother me, Killian. I mean it. I...like you exactly as you are. I don't want you to change."
"I appreciate that, Emma," he said, ducking his head. "I'm sorry I've been such a...a Grinch, was it?"
"Yeah," Emma nodded. "I just...I wish you were looking forward to Christmas. With everything that's happened, I thought that the holiday would make you feel better. But it just seems to piss you off."
"Because of what it symbolizes," he said.
"What?"
"People talk about peace on earth and goodwill towards man and so on," he began. "Given everything that's happened, I can't help but feel like it's not meant for me. I've done a lot of bad things, Emma. Getting tricked by the Crocodile was the last in a very long list."
"Hold on," Emma said. "What are you telling me here? That you think you don't deserve to enjoy Christmas? So what, you've decided to let it piss you off instead?"
"I'd say that's it in a nutshell," he said, making her let out a loud sigh.
"Killian, that's...that's ridiculous. You deserve to enjoy Christmas as much as any of the rest of us," she said. "It's not like anyone's perfect. We all do bad things."
"Not everyone becomes a villain, love," he said gently.
"You're not a villain anymore," she argued. "And you can always decide to do something good."
"Like what?"
"Like...oh!" Emma exclaimed, remembering something. "The school is putting a Christmas festival on for the kids and they need people to help them with arts and crafts and stuff. We should volunteer."
"You want us to volunteer to do...arts and crafts," he made a face, "with a bunch of children?"
"Yes. I think it'll help de-Grinchify you," she said. "You know, like maybe doing something good and Christmasy will get you into the Christmas spirit. What do you say?"
"I think this is a horrible idea," he said, bluntly. "But I'll do it."
Killian Jones had finally met his match. Who knew that it would be a group of first graders? He had been sent to supervise at a table full of them and at first, they'd all regarded each other with mutual suspicion. Until finally one of the little girls, he believed she'd said her name was Cindy, sitting next to him had the gall to ask him if he was an elf.
He'd been right when he'd said that this was a horrible idea.
"I beg your pardon?" he asked.
"Are you an elf?" Cindy repeated.
"Why would you ask me such a question?" he countered.
"Your ears," she said. Killian went utterly still when she reached up to poke at the one nearest to her. "You have elf ears."
"I am not an elf," he responded, put out by the very suggestion. "I assure you. I'm a pirate."
"Why do you talk like that?" one of the boys sitting at the table asked. Killian thought his name might be Alex.
"Why do you talk like that?" Killian shot back. He'd been unaware that helping children with an arts and crafts project could be so frustrating. They were meant to be making Christmas cards, for heaven's sake. Instead Killian found himself the subject of an inquisition. First, they wanted to know why he wore leather. Then there were questions about the kohl that he lined his eyes and why did he do that? What was his favorite color? And so on and so forth, leading up to the indignity of being asked if he was an elf.
"Mister Jones?" Killian turned his attention to the little girl on his other side. This one Killian didn't mind as much. She'd been mostly quiet since he'd joined them and when she spoke, it was with a lisp due to some missing teeth. So it sounded closer to Misther Jonesth which Killian found adorable in spite of his annoyance with the general situation.
"Yes...um, what did you say your name was, lass?" He asked.
"Madison," she answered. It sounded more like Madithon.
"What was your question, Madison?"
"Why do you have a hook?"
"Oh," Killian blinked. The truth was that he wouldn't have worn his hook if he'd remembered that they were doing this today. Emma had reminded him on the way there and they hadn't had time to go back. "Because I don't have a hand." It seemed best to go with the obvious.
"What happened to it?" She inquired.
"I, um, I lost it," he said, knowing full well that telling them the true story would likely get him kicked out of the school. Somehow he didn't imagine that telling a group of six-year-olds that he'd had his hand chopped off by the Dark One after running off with his wife would go over well with the parents in attendance.
"It fell off?!" she asked, sounding horrified.
"No, no, no," Killian said quickly. "There was an...an accident."
"Do you miss it?" She wanted to know.
"Sometimes, yes," he admitted.
"Are you sure you're not an elf?" the first girl, Cindy, asked.
"I am not..." Killian stopped himself with a sigh. Oh what the hell? Why not give her what she apparently wanted. "You know what, uh, Cindy, was it?" She nodded and Killian gestured for all the kids to lean in closer. "You're right, lass. I am an elf, sent here from the, um..." Where the devil were elves from, anyway?
"The North Pole?" Cindy asked, sounding excited now.
"Aye! I was sent here from the North Pole on a top secret mission from, um, from Santa Claus," he told them, leading to a chorus of ooh's from the children.
"I knew it!" She said, gleefully. "How did you get here?"
"On a pirate ship," Killian answered. "For you see, lass, I am a pirate elf." Another round of ooh's.
Okay, so maybe this wasn't so bad.
Emma had been busy at another table and when she came by to tell Killian it was time for them to go, she found him telling the kids at his table a story. The children at his table were hanging on his every word. She couldn't stop the smile from spreading across her face as she watched.
Killian had complained all the way to the school, but he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself now. He happened to look up, noticing her standing there. "Ah, and look who's here! This is the lass, I was telling you about."
"Uh, hi kids," Emma said, confused now. "What were you telling them about me?"
"I was just telling them about that time that we were sent to retrieve a compass for Santa Claus," he answered, his eyes twinkling.
"Oh, I see," Emma said. She was torn between being amused and being weirdly emotional that he was telling them a version of their own story.
"Did you really climb a beanstalk?" A boy at the table asked.
"We did," Emma said.
"See, I told you, Alex," Killian said. "Santa really needed that compass."
"You're pretty," a girl at the table told Emma.
"Aye, that she is, Cindy," Killian said, his voice softer now as he looked at Emma. "She's very pretty."
They'd stayed at the table for a little while longer chatting. Emma learned that Killian had told the children that he was an elf from the North Pole and that as Sheriff, Emma's job was to keep him safe in town. While he conducting his top secret mission for Santa Claus. The kids had all been sad when Emma announced that it was time for them to leave. Killian had just put his coat back on when he felt someone tugging at his hand. He looked down to see Madison.
"Misther Jones?"
"Yes?" Killian asked, crouching down to reach her level.
"I made this for you," she told him, offering him a piece of paper. On it was a drawing of an animal of some sort.
"You...you drew me a picture?" he asked, floored. He took the paper from her and examined it.
"Uh huh," she nodded. "It's a reindeer," she supplied. "I made him like you!"
"How's that?" he asked.
"He's a pirate reindeer!" she answered, like it should have been obvious. "See? He has an eyepatch and that leg isn't real," she said, pointing to one leg that was shaped differently than the others. The hoof was drawn into the shape of a hook. Its left front leg.
"I...this..." Killian was absurdly touched by this gesture. He had never had a child draw him anything, let alone a version of himself as a reindeer. "I think I know just the place to put it. Thank you, sweetheart."
"Merry Christmas, Misther Jonesth," she said, sweetly.
"Merry Christmas, lass," he said quietly, watching as she then ran to who he presumed were her parents.
"Hmm." Killian looked up at Emma's hum and found her beaming at him. They were walking back to Granny's holding hands. Killian had carefully folded Madison picture and tucked it in one of the inside pockets of his coat.
"What?" he asked.
"Oh, you. You were so annoyed about coming here and you've been such a grump about a Christmas, but you had fun today. Admit it," she said.
"It was...not completely horrific," he said.
"Please," Emma rolled her eyes. "You had those kids eating out of the palm of your hand and you loved it."
"When do I not enjoy being the center of attention?" He asked, lightly.
"You know what else?" She asked.
"What's that?"
"You've been all grr, I'm a villain," she began, attempting to mimic his accent. "I don't deserve to enjoy Christmas. I'm going to heave darts at dartboards. Grr."
"I have not been that grouchy," he interrupted, amused.
"You have," she corrected. "But you know what? Children don't usually go around drawing pictures to give to villains." At this, Killian noticeably softened.
"No, I suppose they don't," he said, thoughtfully.
"She liked you," Emma said, smiling at him.
"Madison was a sweet child," he said. "She probably would have drawn a picture for anyone."
"Killian. She drew you as a reindeer," Emma reminded him. "She liked you."
"Aye, well," he smiled, the tips of his ears turning pink. "Perhaps I liked her as well."
"So should I be worried about this?" She teased.
"Darling, you know that you hold my heart," he said. Emma tried to ignore the feeling of warmth that spread through her body at his words. "But then again, she did draw me as a reindeer."
"She did," Emma laughed. "I can draw you a picture, I guess. Not a reindeer though, it's been done. I wonder how you'd look as a snowman."
"I would be a devilishly handsome snowman," Killian decided.
"Of course you would," Emma grinned. "Oh, and what's this?"
"What?"
"Is that a smile on your face, Captain? Are you," Emma let out a dramatic gasp, "finding your Christmas spirit?"
"Perhaps I am, love," he agreed.
Emma couldn't believe that she was about to do this. Killian had been in better spirits ever since they'd gone to the school. He kept the picture that Madison had drawn for him visible in his room and she'd catch him smiling whenever he looked at it. Since then, his mood had drastically improved as he slowly lost his Grinchiness.
But he wasn't quite there. Not yet. Killian's story about the two of them climbing up a beanstalk to retrieve a compass for Santa Claus had inspired her.
Her parents had graciously invited him to have dinner with them at the loft. And then Emma had announced that she was going to stay with Killian at Granny's that night. Her mom had given her part of her idea, when she'd commented how nice it would be to be together on Christmas. It had gotten Emma to think about how Killian would wake up alone on Christmas Day and that had bothered her. So she'd decided that she would be there when he woke up. This would be the first night that they'd spent together as a couple.
Emma hadn't missed the stern look David was giving Killian as she and Killian left. "We'll see you guys tomorrow morning?" Snow had asked, cheerfully. She hadn't seemed too bothered about this development.
"We'll be here bright and early," Emma had promised.
"Alright, have fun!" Snow had called as they left. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight Mom. Night Dad," Emma had responded. As Emma was closing the door behind her she'd heard her father let out a sound of disgust.
"Have fun?!" She'd heard him say, presumably to her mother. He'd sounded horrified. "They better not have too much fun."
What her father didn't know wouldn't hurt him, Emma thought now. She was standing in front of the mirror in Killian's bathroom, her heart pounding in her chest as she studied her reflection in the mirror. She thought back to when she'd questioned her sanity earlier in the month. It seemed like she'd officially gone off the deep end now, if she hadn't been there already.
But this would be worth it. She hoped.
Emma sauntered out of the bathroom and found Killian lying back against the headboard, reading a book. Naturally, he wouldn't be paying any attention when she made her grand entrance. No matter.
"Ahem." Killian looked up and his jaw immediately dropped in response to her appearance. As did his book, landing on the floor with a soft thud. That made Emma feel better.
"Swan," Killian breathed, his eyes drifting from the Santa hat she wore all the way down and back up again. "What...you...what?" That made Emma feel a lot better. He couldn't even get a full sentence out and there was no mistaking the pure desire in his eyes. And here she'd thought that going out and buying a sexy Santa costume had been a crazy idea.
"It's Christmas Eve," Emma said, hoping he didn't notice how much her voice was shaking as she stepped closer to the foot of the bed. "Do you remember what happens tonight, Killian?" God, she couldn't remember the last time she'd been this nervous. "This is the night where Santa Claus gets in his sleigh and delivers presents to all the good boys and girls."
"Aye." Heaven help him, Killian thought his heart might actually stop dead in his chest as Emma climbed up on the bed and slowly crawled her way towards him, her hands and knees on either side of his body. It would be his luck if had lived this long only to drop dead once he finally had Emma Swan in his bed. Dressed, or rather barely dressed, in a skimpy red dress that flared out just a bit. A stripe of white faux fur lined the bottom. It took everything in his power not to tug her closer. "Does this make you Emma Claus then?" He asked, his voice thick.
"I suppose so," she said, reaching him finally and easing herself back onto her knees to straddle his hips.
"You know what, love?" Killian asked. "I do believe I've located my Christmas spirit."
"Oh, is that what I'm feeling?" She quipped, though her voice was still trembling. She pressed a hand to her stomach and gave him a sheepish smile. "It's, uh, it's been a while. And my last time was with a flying monkey in disguise." She forced herself to breathe out. "I'm a little nervous."
"Aye, love, me too," he admitted. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Yes." And she was. She just needed to calm down a little. Now Emma's breath hitched in his throat when Killian lifted his hand to cup her cheek tenderly.
"If it makes you feel any better, it's been a while for me too," he told her.
"Yeah?"
"I've not been with another woman since I met you, Emma," he said, honestly. "And before that, it didn't mean anything. But now..."
"But now...?" She urged.
"This means everything," he said, his voice breaking on his next word. "You mean everything."
"Killian," she whispered.
"Ssh." Emma's eyes fluttered closed as Killian leaned in to kiss her. He was being so gentle with her, almost as though he were trying to use his kiss to soothe her more than seduce her. Emma melted into it, into him. "We're going to take this nice and slow," he promised. "All you need to do is trust me."
"I do," she told him, frowning a little when he pulled back. "Killian?"
"It's alright," he murmurmed. "I'm just taking this off." He was talking about his hook.
"You...you don't have to," she said, watching him remove it.
"Actually, Swan, I do," he argued, gently, reaching to set it on the nearest bedside table. "If this is to be the first time I touch you, I want it to be without my hook."
"What...what about the brace?" She asked, noticing the way he was eyeing it.
"Oh, well, I can leave that on," he said, looking somewhat uncomfortable now.
"Do you usually take it off to sleep?" She asked.
"I do, yes," he nodded. "But we're not about to sleep."
"Yeah, but if it's bothering you..."
"It's nothing I can't handle," he said. "Besides, you probably don't want to see what my wrist looks like without it. It's...it's not..." Emma had never seen him this self-conscious before. "I'm afraid it might kill the mood."
"It won't," she decided. "I want to see you. All of you. Here." Emma surprised him by reaching for it. "Let me?" She looked back up at him, waiting for his jerky nod before slowly unfastening the straps holding it in place and pulling it off. She handed it to him to put on the bedside table as she inspected his stump, running her fingers over it tenderly as she looked over all his scars. "Oh Killian," she whispered.
"I know it's ugly," he stammered.
"No, it's not," she shook her head. "It just makes me think that you are one of the strongest people I know. You've been hurt so much."
"So have you," he pointed out.
"Not like this," she said quietly, stunning him by lifting his wrist to her lips and placing a gentle kiss on the worst of his scars. "My pirate," she said lovingly, continuing to kiss each of his scars. "My survivor." She then set his wrist against her hip. "Ask me what I want for Christmas."
"Uh..." The shift in their discussion threw him off guard. "What do you want for Christmas, love?"
"You," she answered, simply. "All of you."
"What a coincidence," he managed, bringing his hand back to her cheek.
"Yeah?" Emma turned her head to kiss his palm. "Why's that?"
"Because it just so happens that what I want for Christmas is you," he replied, making her smile.
"Well in that case," she began. "I think that we should give each other what we want. Kiss me."
"Happily," he said. This kiss, too, was slow and tender. "Emma?"
"Hmm?"
"Thank you for helping me find my Christmas spirit," he murmured.
"You're welcome. Now how about we put that spirit to use?" She said, smiling against his lips and finding herself on her back with him on top of her a moment later.
"As you wish, Emma Claus," he teased her.

So, reporting back after watching both Into the Woods and Tangled! ITW witch looks similar and brought a dead cow back to life, which is interesting since the OUAT witch is supposed to resurrect Anastasia. She also was an expert on herbs because of her garden (that included magic beans), cursed to ugliness coz said beans got stolen on her watch and seemed to actually love Rapunzel like a daughter, albeit very selfishly. Also of note is the fairy tale mesh up which is totally OUAT's thing. cont
Into the Woods was taking the originalfairytales and building on what happens after idea, right? That the HEA isn’tas happy as the tales lead us to believe. I always assumed that witch in ITWwas an amalgam of the various witches and crones in the Grimm Bros stories. Then again, I’ve only seen bits and pieces from the Broadway show, and neversaw the movie, so I may be wrong.
As far as the storyline with LT trying to bringAnastasia back, we already know OUaT is big on the theme of resurrection:
Regina’sfailed attempt to use Dr. Frankenstein to bring back Daniel
Snowsplitting her heart to bring back Charming
Emmausing her magic to bring back a mostly dead Robin, which failed in the end
Emmausing the darkness to bring back a mostly dead Killian, which, again, failed inthe end
Zeusliterally resurrecting Killian
There’s someone I’m forgetting, I know there’ssomeone I’m forgetting. But the gist of it is that resurrection attempts withoutsacrifice fail. So based on that alone, and the fact that LT is trying to stealsomeone else’s heart to use in resurrecting Anastasia, does anyone reallyexpect it to work? Or for the witch not to somehow cross LT and Drizzy?
cont Though what I found more interesting wasTangled coz I forgot that Rapunzel befriends a tavern full of ruffians whoseleader is a guy with a hook?! So, if they are doing Tangled, not Rapunzel, Ican see a lot of stuff they could play with, like making her Hook’s daughterand making a parallel out of her probable abandonment issues, coz there’s thisone scene where shes lead to believe that Flynn abandoned her, or Gothel’sreason for taking her is the magic hair with healing powers she cont
cont uses to save Flynn’s life, which theycould totally do with Hook instead! There was lots of stuff where I was going“Wow, OUAT would have a field day with this!” and basically, I’m now convincedthat, if they are doing Tangled, Rapunzel is Hook’s daughter until the showproves me wrong! Also, I read somewhere that her casting call said she wantedrevenge on her tormentors?! Anyway, interesting observations re: the darkcurses. Do you think LT still has the wand in HH? Would it still cont
Oh, interesting, and certainly possible! Weknow that Rapunzel’s first episode is 7x07, and it seems like that episode willbe focusing on Roger’s search for the missing girl. Then she’s back for 7x09with all the witches. It will be interesting to see if she comes back afterthose two episodes and whether or not Rapunzel is one of the eight witches thatgives 7x09 its title.
(Pause for tangent: What would really be fun isif we find out young Anastasia was actually somehow magical and one of the eightwitches. To me, it would give LT’s stance on eschewing magic for power, only toembrace using the fairy’s wand at every opportunity and turning to magic tobring Anastasia back a bit more depth.)
cont work? And yeah, Lucy’s role in all thisreally puzzles me, like, the finale made it look like she was excluded from thecurse since Tiger Lily had to reunite her with her mom? But now she seemsintegrated into the curse? She’s awake but doesn’t really know much since she apparentlydidn’t realize Roni was her grandma until the photo? Did Henry write her bookbefore the curse or is it part of the curse? So many questions, I kinda lovehow much this season keeps me on my toes coz I cont
cont didn’t expect much after last season tbh.I got kinda disillusioned with the writers and their decisions, like, theystarted out pretty well, but then there was no follow through, the wishversemade no sense and I still resent the contrived CS angst in the second half.Honestly, I feel like that’s a general problem: They have good ideas, but Ioften find the execution lacking and it saddens me coz I know they could begreat if they just tried a little harder, sigh. Still love it though!
That pretty much sums up OUaT in a nutshell:Great ideas, lousy execution.
I do think the fairy’s wand is in HH, not sureif it is currently in LT’s possession or if it is in that underground cavernwaiting to be found yet. We know there is at least some magic in HH because of theflowers in the garden, so I’m going to guess the wand will have to come up atsome point and that it will be a question of whether it falls into LT, thewitch, or Rumple’s hands. Although, circling back to my budding thoughts onAnastasia, maybe she does get revived and the wand falls into her hands, revealing her powers to LT and being the trigger that flips LT from an assumedposition of power to one of service.
As for Lucy, I expect 7x09 when Tiger Lilycomes back that we will have some answers as to how the curse worked and howthe alt!EF folks were transported to HH. We know that Henry had a storybook inthe alt!EF and that Tiger Lily made sure Lucy had the book and would protect itand get it to her mother. In addition, the S6 finale seemed to imply that thestorybook Lucy was protecting was the same one that she has in Seattle. So, fornow, I’m going with the reason Lucy doesn’t recognize certain people eventhough she’s woke is that the curse only altered the images in the book of thepeople caught in the curse. (I actually made a joke post about this yesterday.)So that explains why Emma’s image is perfectly rendered, and why Lucy doesn’trecognize Roni, Rogers, or Rumple.
(P.S. You should totally watch Tangled someday,it’s one of the best Disney movies imo)
Someday my friend, someday…

Favorite romantic or platonic duo on Broadway?
Matilda and Miss Honey for platonic.  Favorite canon romance, maybe Al and Joan.  Favorite ship, too many to count ;)
Best meta moment in a musical?
It’s not a musical but I have such a soft spot for the post-curtain call bit from Curious Incident.  I didn’t love that play overall (though the staging was crazy clever), but that moment is so dang endearing.
Dream cast your favorite musical.
GOOD NEWS I HAVE LIKE NINETY OF THOSE.  Fun Home is probably my all-time favorite show, but tbh the OBC (but with Gabby Pizzolo as Small Alison) is so perfect I can’t dreamcast it better than it’s already been cast.
So…to the Matilda well I go.  Sticking to people who haven’t been in the show since I think my favorites from the actual show are pretty well-known on this tumblr ;)  Also I have NO idea if/how well any of these people dance.
Matilda - Savvy Crawford, Sami Bray, Maya Grace Fischbein, Isabelle Methven
Miss Honey - Mandy Gonzales has been my go-to dream Miss Honey since the show opened, but Julia K. Harriman, Kaley Ann Voorhees, Denee Benton, Christy Altomare, Samantha Hill, Ingrid Michaelson (I never thought I’d be picking someone who isn’t specifically known for theatre for my favorite role of all time, but she just knocked my socks off as Sonya) and probably a bunch of others not coming to my mind at the moment would have been amazing.
Miss Trunchbull - Vocally and acting-wise, I think Killian Donnelly would be a riot and a half, but honestly I can’t think of anyone with the right physicality for the role off the top of my head.  This role must be a beast to cast.
Escapologist - Jason Forbach Acrobat - Brennyn Lark
Mrs. Phelps - Phillipa Soo (yeah, I know it’d be a bit of a waste of her voice and it doesn’t make a ton of sense to cast a huge star in a supporting role, but we’re dreaming here and I think she has the perfect energy for the role.  It’s easy to think of Mrs. Phelps as a purely comedic character, but you also need her to be warm, empathetic, gentle and loving.  Tell me that’s not Pippa in a nutshell.)
Mrs. Wormwood - Ariana DeBose would slay the fuck out of Loud.
Mr. Wormwood - Joseph Spieldenner (what can I say; he and Jason are the cutest Broadway couple of all time and their being in shows together brings me joy.  Plus he’s crazy talented himself!)
Bruce - Devin Trey Campbell  Lavender - Evie DolanNigel - Zell Steele MorrowEric - Jonah MussolinoAmanda - Laurel Griggs  (if I could’ve had a fifth Matilda it would’ve been Laurel)Alice - McKayla TwiggsHortensia - Iris Davies Tommy - Sean RedaTall Boy Swing - Joshua Colley Tall Girl Swing - Sadie SinkSmall Girl Swing - Audrey Bennett or Zoe Glick?  I’ve never heard either of them sing, but this is me trying to think of kids who could theoretically fit the role at this point.Small Boy Swing - Jesus del Orden
(As an aside, I know Lavender traditionally isn’t white; I’m just short on kids I’m familiar with who weren’t in Matilda - plus I do think Evie would have been an excellent Small Girl Swing.  Ditto with Sean as Tommy.  And Savvy, Maya, Evie, Sadie and Zell are probably too tall/old for these roles at this point, but at the time the show was running they were perfect so I stand by that.)

*turns sleigh around because sometimes we drop presents* Greetings from the North Pole! 🎅🏼 It’s your secret Santa! I have been reliably informed that some of my messages today have been eaten up out in Tumblr land, and I thought I’d swing back around to drop another message down the chimney! 🎁 And if you did, indeed, get this morning’s message, well, who ever said no to a little bit extra giving!? Can’t wait to get to know you 💚❤️💚
I did get your earlier message, but it's always nice to get more! Tumblr is fickle isn't it? I may have been the one to cause the mess up because I tried to answer your last ask privately. When I did, Tumblr was all weird and I was like, "so. . . Did she get it or not? " I'm guessing not, lol!Well, you asked to know a little about me. My blog says I'm a southern mama and fanfic writer, so you already know that. I even have a southern name, Melanie (like in Sweet Home Alabama and Gone With the Wind). It's a name I love, actually, even though people have trouble pronouncing it and spelling it for some reason. The kids are 10, 7, and 5. Two boys with a girl in between. Three kids who sadly figured out last Christmas that there’s no Santa when they caught us in the act at 1:30 am :( But they are imaginative kids, so we still get to pretend. Married to my best friend and soul mate who I call my own personal Killian Jones because he has a similar personality. And "I quite fancy you from time to time when you're not yelling at me" perfectly sums up how we got together. So that’s me in a nutshell! And I guess we'll just have these convos publicly so Tumblr won't lose them in the void :) I look forward to chatting more!

In one of your last replies you said "I have a feeling the more problematic CSers will have a lot bigger things to worry about than risque jokes eventually…" I love Colin and Killian but I love CS first and this had me intrigued. Do you really think they'll mess CS up in season 7 and... do you approve it?? Maybe I got it wrong but it seemed like you did and couldn't wait for this to happen to annoy the problematic CSers you were talking about.
No, I don’t think they’ll mess up CS in Season 7. However, I do think some CSers are going to be very unhappy with Season 7. I think to better understand what I mean, I should probably explain what I meant by “problematic” CSers.
For starters, these CSers feel threatened by other ships. I don’t mean the idea of CS breaking up and being in other relationships; I mean the simple idea of fans shipping things other than CS. They act like CS is somehow compromised by the mere existence of other fan ships. They attack folks who ship them and they get angry if the stars so much as acknowledge them. With Emma not on the show, there is going to be more fan shipping of Hook with, you know, other folks. It’s just the nature of the beast. CSers who can’t handle that are going to be in for a lot of upsetment. CSers who are good at the whole “ship and let ship” mentality probably won’t care much.
Secondly, “problem” CSers are the ones who find scenes where Hook or Emma are separated worthless. Yes, we all like to see them together, but there are some CSers who act like any scene with only one of them is a waste of screentime or somehow “needless drama” that the writers are subjecting viewers to. These fans are likely going into Season 7 believing that Hook’s storylines and motivations are still going to be 100% Emma-related, even though she’s not present… and they’re probably going to be very disappointed if/when it turns out they’re not (because having a character’s entire plot/self focused on a character who isn’t even on the show isn’t good writing, guys). Obviously, no one wants to see CS ruined by the new directions the show goes in… but I sincerely don’t see it being enhanced by it, either - and I think some folks are gonna be pissed about that.
What I consider “problematic” CSers also seem to think Jen and Colin should be melded together at the hip and do everything together. There’s nothing wrong with liking to see the two of them work together or appear together in interviews or press, but it can get excessive when fans start acting like they’re a package deal. These fans are already going to be starting Season 7 with a bee in their bonnet, because Colin’s doing this season without Jen. Yeah, these fans are the ones who sincerely thought Colin should quit a job he loves because his co-star decided to leave the show. These folks are going to want Colin, the writers, and everyone else involved in the show to basically be in constant mourning for the loss of Jen, and as soon as press starts coming out about the new season and everyone’s expressing excitement about the new direction, new castmates, new stories, etc, etc, these fans will be livid. They’ll be complaining about how Colin’s appreciation of this-or-that new castmate is a “slap in the face” to Jen somehow, or “How could he support this storyline?” or, in a nutshell, “How can they act like everything’s fine when the heart of the show is gone???” etc, etc, ad nauseum.
So… That’s what I mean by “problematic” CSers having a lot more to worry about eventually. I don’t think these folks will be happy with Season 7, no matter what happens in it - and, unfortunately, I’m sure they’re going to have no problem letting everyone know just how upset they are, whether we wanna know about it or not ;) I absolutely don’t mean all CSers are this way. The majority are not. That’s why I referred to them as “problematic” ones.
As for whether I accept these changes… Yeah, I do. I’m excited to see what new ships will be born, and see old ones flourish anew. I look forward to seeing what new motivations and stories await Hook without Emma’s influence. I’m thrilled that Colin seems really excited and hopeful about Season 7. So, yeah, the very things I think will probably upset problematic CSers are things I’m happy about. But as for whether I’ll enjoy them being upset? No, I won’t. Mostly because their complaining gets annoying ;) But to be perfectly honest, I don’t really get on with anyone I consider a problematic fan, so I don’t think it’ll be much of a problem for me, really. C’est la vie :)

Top 5 kinky Killian headcanons ;)
Oooh, another fun one! I spent a lot of time considering this one, because I’m always thinking about kinky Killian things I had to consider what kind of kinky headcanons to go with and what order to put them in. I’ve decided to focus on headcanons about important kinky events in Killian’s life that shaped his overall kinkiness… If you wanted a different kind of kinky headcanon, just send me another ask and let me know. I will gladly talk about kinky Killian things all day long do more of these Top 5 things.
Tumblr media
#1 Milah Was His FirstI headcanon that Milah more or less introduced Killian to more adventurous sex. I don’t believe he was a total virgin when he met her, no, but I also don’t think he’d had very many sexual adventures - and definitely not any unusual or meaningful ones. But I think when Milah left Rumplestiltskin, she flourished into a sexy, confident and commanding woman… and I think that transferred into the bedroom with Killian - and I think they both loved it and played around at her commanding him and him playing the dutiful and doting manservant. Mostly innocent stuff, but a doorway to kinky pleasures.
Tumblr media
#2 Peter Pan Was the WorstI’ve spoken on this blog before about my personal headcanons about Captain Pan and their past during Killian’s time in Neverland, so I won’t go into that in too much detail here. In a nutshell, I believe they shared a “working relationship” where Killian was allowed to live relatively freely in Neverland in exchange for doing anything and everything Pan told him to - including sexual favors. I also think Pan is kinky af and would’ve taken any and every opportunity to humiliate and subjugate Hook, as well as fuck with his head. And if he picked up on any kinky inclinations on Hook’s part, he would’ve used those to his advantage to mindfuck him even harder. While I do think that lots of kinky things went on in Neverland, I’m not really sure if Hook actually enjoyed any of it. Ideas for another time, perhaps, but I think it mostly fucked him up by adding to his low self-worth and giving him a cavalier attitude about sex in general. I think he also took to drinking heavily to forget the things Pan would make him do, hence all of Pan’s taunts about his drinking.

#3 All the Single LadiesI think between running errands for Pan and getting drunk, Killian acted out through wanton sexual exploits with lots and lots (and lots) of women. Working girls, tavern wenches, farmer’s daughters, Tinkerbell - you name ‘em, he bedded ‘em. Obviously, this didn’t help his feelings of low self-worth, but it did introduce him to the full gamut of kinky pleasures throughout the realms. And the working girls, in particular, would be very helpful in assuring him that such interests are a lot more common than one might think. Basically, the birth of “kinky af and I don’t care who knows it” Killian ;) And yes, we DO know that Killian Jones partook in the pleasures of working girls. Otherwise, why would Smee and his crew think it was acceptable (and even would be appreciated) to chip in their meager funds to buy a night with one for him?

#4 The QueenCora was, in my mind, a complete and total Domme of epic proportions. I mean, just look at her. Look at how she was, who she was, her past, the things she achieved and what she made of herself. Hell, the woman got dropped in the middle of Wonderland and next we saw of her, she was the fucking Queen. I headcanon that she and Killian had a purely sexual affair, and that she dominated him quite thoroughly and masterfully. In fact, I actually think she was a grounding influence in his life for those “cursed” years and helped him move past some of his issues (Pan, over-drinking, etc) so he was in a place where the profound changes we see in Storybrooke (and start seeing in 6x06) could be made.

#5 His Precious SwanControl is, I think, a HUGE thing to Killian. HUGE. Taking it away from him (Slave owners, Rumplestiltskin, Pan, Emma in S5, etc) is a huge trigger for him. He can’t handle it at all. But yet, we also see him letting Emma take control of almost everything between them. Everything moves at her pace and he always kowtows to her wishes - and he seems happy with that. It’s why other characters (even Dark Hook) call him her lovesick puppy dog or her lapdog. It’s that obvious. The trick is, of course, that he gives control to Emma. And, naturally, I think he does that in the bedroom, as well ;) I mean, where would the fun be if he didn’t??
