Okay okay okay long post but,
I need to say this cause it's nearly midnight and this idea is keeping me awake! Please tell me if you like the sound of the idea or if you think it's a bit of a stretch lol
So I started thinking about this today and cannot stop but y'know those Danny Phantom AU where Danny has a space obsession but everyone assumes it's actually a protection obsession?? I had an idea where, what if they're not assuming and Danny's pretending to have a protection obsession because he doesn't want his rouges to feel guilty about keeping him from his obsession?
Here me out! What if Danny feels like pretending to have a protection obsession is necessary to keeping his rouges happy and content while fulfilling their obsessions? He wants them to be happy because it means they'll be more satisfied and will come around less (he hopes). His rouges are more than happy to attack because they feel like they're helping Danny fulfill HIS obsession!
Eventually Danny starts to think of it like he's performing for those around him, like he's the star of the show he didn't realize he was in- He finds himself watching plays and operas and broadway shows and he enjoys them?? Which he didn't expect! Soon he becomes a bit obsessed with putting on the perfect performance for others, but obviously that has side effects on his mental health.
Maybe we can bring in some Ghost King Phantom? Like he becomes the Ghost King once he's graduated university or something and to his surprise, Frostbite tells him that he has a new Performance Obsession and of course this can give an opportunity for angsty spirals... Also if I'm being completely honest, the design and personality I have in my head for him is reminiscent of Furina from Genshin Impact, which I'm pretty sure was an accident, especially because I finished the newest quest yesterday... But whatever... I'll worry about it later.
If enough people like the idea I'll probably put a story and designs together, might even throw some dpxdc into the ring who knows, I sure don't! Anyway, my first time actually putting thought into an AU idea and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Let me know what you think!

I've been wracking my brain trying to find out who exactly Detective Noel might be and I think I have a vague hand wavy idea.
I know people want it to be Parker, Kayne, or even the KIY but I think Arthur would have recognized Parker's voice even if John struggled to recognize him, Kayne was pointed out to have never known about the lighter, and the King seems like a long shot, but not altogether impossible. However!
Way back in season 1 we learned that the book that had once held John was actually addressed to Roland Cummings, a retired private investigator who owned 13 Mosby Avenue (Arthur and Parker's office) and as of now is MIA after the police found the body of his wife in the freezer and the neighbors suspected he fled to Canada (Part Two: The Missing Girl). He's also the father of Amanda Cummings, one of the missing girls who was later killed by the King (because of Arthur, whoops). Now, his office was leased out to Elijah Strong and his partner, Teddy Caine before being taken over by Arthur and Parker. Elijah had committed suicide in prison and we later find out that the Butcher was the one who actually killed him. As of right now we have no definitive answer as to what became of Teddy Caine.
Arthur's engraved lighter came from the desk of their office.
My reach is that Detective Noel is either Roland Cummings or (less so) Teddy Cain. I'm leaning more towards Cummings simply because he had seemed the most knowledgeable about The Horrors™️ and was in fact sort of the catalyst to the entire series being the original receiver for John's book. And it's also possible he and Arthur never really met. It would also make sense as to why he's working under a different name because he would still be under suspicion after what happened with his family near Arkham. Teddy Caine I'm less sure about because all we know is that he worked at the office for a time and had a run-in with the Butcher.
Detective Noel could also literally be none of these people or someone else entirely and I'm just thinking too hard. But ooh the possibilities! They make me [stick figure gore]

my mind has been developing this delusion world in which tywin lannister was the mad king’s sugar baby. aerys was “vain, proud, and changeable, traits that made him easy prey for flatterers and lickspittles” (awoiaf p.190). upon becoming king, he fired his father’s older and wiser hand and named tywin in his place, making tywin the youngest hand in the entire history of the seven kingdoms, but how did we get there?
there were childhood friends. tywin served as a page in court and we know from genna that tywin mistrusted laughter due to hearing too many people laughing at his father. at this point in time, the lannisters were a laughingstock or at least tywin wholeheartedly believed this, so the subsequent friendship he makes with the crown prince thrusts him upwards in status and into higher scrutiny. tywin is the elder, but aerys is the prince. they spend years together with the established dynamic of aerys being the one with power and tywin (albeit his friend) his servant. it is only when tywin dares to step outside this master/servant dynamic aerys has cooked up, that they begin to fall apart.
they go to war together. aerys chooses tywin, a newly made knight, to knight him. this was the war of the ninepenny kings, he could have chosen gerold hightower. he could have chosen roger reyne, or any number of distinguished knights and commanders, but no he chose tywin who had likely just been knighted himself. for added context, during this war tywin’s father stayed at home with his mistress rather than taking to the battlefield. nearly a year later, aerys is crowned and tywin is named hand of the king. as hand of the king, tywin is allowed any expense, any decision, literally allowed to do anything he wants at aerys’ leave (up until their toxic breakup era).
something that always fascinated me within this was why after gaining power of his own merit and name does he make his father’s mistress do a walk of atonement? at first, i believed this to be a way to embarrass his father further from the grave and cement his notoriety. however, right after he forces the walk of atonement, aerys and tywin rule the kingdom from casterly rock for a year (awoiaf p.194). if we believe that tywin has a subconscious or conscious shame in regards to using aerys’ fondness for him (whether you want to see it romantically or not) for seize of power and political gain, the walk of atonement is so interesting as it is a public self-flagellation of a transactional relationship that he himself mirrors. it is after this very act that aerys holds court (and tywin) at casterly rock, the scene of the crime in a sense. here tywin is, like his fathers mistresses in the same very home, flattering and bootlicking the same man for money, influence, and power. it is only after this year in casterly rock where tywin is forced to reconcile with these similarities that their relationship dissolves.
in conclusion, tywin was playing sugar baby to aerys and their relationship soured when tywin decided he wished for power that was truly his own rather than through aerys.

with all the (deserved) joker hate, I don't know if it'd be better if he just died, did not pass go, stayed dead or got to experience Second Death: electric boogaloo via Means Unknown to the Living. ig it really depends on the will of a clown.
also can't wait for Dick to get his revenge once he's feeling a bit better- maybe a shovel talk?? (idk how effective it'd be to the ghost king, but a man can try) or some teasing for how unsubtle Danny's crush is
Man, even I'm not sure if the clown will live. It's going to be a surprise to me, too. The best part? I'm not sure who would kill him.
Danny, in a fit of protective and clown-hate fueled mindless rage?
Jason, finally given a chance to kill his worst nightmare?
To be honest, leaving Joker in the shadow realm would be far worse than death since it makes you live your worst nightmare. The Joker would exist in a world where no one knows him. No one cares about him. Where he's ignored. Mediocre. It's far worse than death for him.
To top it off, his real body will remain on life support. Slowly, people will forget about him as he fades from existence. Gotham will care far more about he existing Rogues who are actively causing harm. They don't have time to spend thinking about a Rogue who has been in a coma for years. Even Batman will give up eventually, forced to focus on the current catastrophe of the week.
And Dick. Ah I love this boy he has so much comedy potential. Once he realizes he finally gets to give his first ever shovel talk he's going to be ecstatic. Even better, he doesn't know Danny is the Ghost King. Can you imagine when it's later revealed and Dick realizes he threatened the King of The Dead?!
A treat for sending an ask
💚
"So." Dick fiddled with his escrima stick, flipping and spinning it in a display of nervousness Jason only knew he was comfortable showing because they were alone.
"You and Danny, how long have you two been together?" Dick asked, tilting his head slightly so Jason could see the smirk on his face and the light of mischief in his eyes.

It is 2024 and I am here having feelings about Gilbert Norrell seated across from Jonathan Strange, his tea going cold before the fire, as tears form in his eyes and he pleads with Jonathan to not leave his side and thus make him bereft of the magical companionship that he never knew that he so desperately craved until the very moment that he found himself on the precipice of losing it (potentially) forever:
"There will be noone to talk to. We will be quite alone".
🔪💔
It is too good, the peak of cinema 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

So what if that fire that was set to the echidna village that Pachacamac wrote into the rock opera wasn’t just him being dramatic while lying, but instead him just LYING.
You may say: oh isn’t that just the same thing?
No
Pachacamac being dramatic while lying means that he’s just adding flair to the already heavily manipulated story he’s telling.
Pachacamac LYING, means that something did attack the echidna village, but it wasn’t the owls (as we all already know)
What if the fire that was set to Knuckles’ village wasn’t a fire, but rather a flood. What if Chaos attacked the village while only Knuckles remained?
