Kotlc collecting habits Pt.1

Basically what I think various kotlc characters (mostly the kids) would collect. other than prattles pins bc we all know everyone collects those so.

this is inspired by my own habits of picking random shit up and stuffing it in my closet.

Sophie: she doesn't rlly have the time to like exclusively go out and collect things she wants. I think she's rlly causal act what she keeps. if she see's a pretty rock? yoink. some nice smelling flowers? she'll pluck a few to maybe sundry when she's not busy saving the world lmao. I do think she would collect garden gnomes tho. Bc of mr. forkle's human house having the gnomes (the most weird or scary looking ones ofc, shoppes a weirdo 100%). It reminds her or her human past, and it also srsly weirds out like everyone who comes Havenfield which is is plus. Like just imagine a whole line of creepy ass gnomes lined up right outside havenfields entrance. She names them all too. they all human names ofc ofc. like bob. and carl. and other such things.

Keefe: I think he collects things based off of ppl if you know what I mean. Like he see's a bottle caps that reminds him of Sophie's exact eye color and adds it to his Sophie collection. Or if he see's like idk a purple rock that reminds him of like that one time Biana painted his nails the most vibrant and gaudy purple color she had, he adds it to his collection of things that remind him of Biana. maybe he adds little pieces of art he did for each person he collects stuff for. idk. Omg and maybe someday like he has all these collections and like the gang happens to fid out, and they start going through that shit. Keefe's so embarrassed and low-key scared they'll be mad, but they all love it. Fitz finally reunites with his long lost Bramble Jersey! Keefe immediately steals it back tho dw. he's such a people person fr. Especially bc of his empathy. He doesn't have collections for his parents. He used to for Gisela but when she was revealed to be a part of the never seen he showed her's into some dark corner of the house and hasn't looked back.

Biana: ikkkk ppl are gonna say that she collects hair pins and like jewelry and makeup and other stuff like that. And she does, She has an entire closet dedicated to dresses and shoes she has over the year. Like this is canonical. But her most prized and valued collection, is her stick collection. She has so many sticks. She has such stick fight vibes. She used to beat Keefe and fitz up with them. She organizes them by height. She lovingly pets them all. No one is allowed to touch her sticks. Biana = stick girl. One time when the gang was like idk practicing fighting with their bodyguards, she found the biggest most beautiful stick ever and literally screamed. No one knew why Biana, the girliest of girlies (said lovingly ily Biana) was so worked up over a stick. It's ok Biana, sticks r amazing fr.

Dex: I feel like before he became a techno path, he would collect like plant ingredients for different potions and elixirs needed at slurps and burps. He likes the idea of being useful, bc all his life he's been seen as a mistake. He's trying to prove his worth constantly. Kesler happened to ask him to get a like plant in front of a noble, and the noble complimented Dex on being such a good kid, so now he's like oh, I'm a good kid! which makes me so sad. But also he collects like useful things exclusively bc of the triplets. Like he can't bring shiny rocks or shells that he finds on the beach bc the triplets will get to it so fast that he won't even be able to like have a collection to adds things to. Instead, he collects pieces of scrap metal, herbs, wires, wood pieces, etc. so that he has the excuse of saying that this is material he needs for gadgets and elixirs and whatnot, so the triplets can't steal/break anything. he collects pens too( he is anti pencil).

Linh: Because of her being banshed for like 3+ years, I can't say that Linh is a big collector, neither is her brother. She didn't have the means to have things simply for enjoyment. Whatever little she owned went to keeping her and her brother alive and fed. It's hardcoded into to only take what she needs and nothing more bc of her previous life style. But now that she lives with Tiergan (NOT choralmere I REFUSE), I think she might start buying like little trinkets. Maybe stickers or small bracelets, or charms. keychains. Friendship necklaces. She would definitely buy lotttttts of excess things for princess purryfins. Like fancy collars, or little animal clothes. combs to brush her hair. Linh spoils her sm I swear. I wish is was Princess purryfins fr. I also think she would invest in a lottt of water proof clothing/goggles/etc. Like overly so. More than she needs. it's a way of calming her anxiety act her ability. Even if she messes up and loses control, at least she and everyone in Tiergan's house (I forgot what hi should is called) will stay dry. She hasn't fucked up completely.

this was heavily influenced by @crymeariveronceagain post on how Wylie and Linh would react to Tam coming back home, which you should probably go read too

he didn’t speak for weeks after he came back from the neverseen, not unless he was spoken too and even then it was one word answers

he hated the way everyone would look at him with pity and try to get him to talk, he did want to talk it wasn’t safe to talk he would just hurt people more

Linh wasn’t the first person he talked to Wylie was, he talked for a long time to his big brother about how he was treated and how he was just trying to protect everyone but he messed up so bad

he hates that he hurt his sister, and he doesn’t want to hurt her more so, he didn’t tell her what the Neverseen did to him, he wanted to protect her

it was Wylie encouragement that got him to finally talk to Linh

he hated that the Council treated him and glimmer like Criminals that they would check to make sure them behaves, they reminded the, what will happen if they didn’t.

interrogation, mind probes, tracking devices, banishment, mind brakes, exile

their threats reminded him of the Neverseen and how they would punish him,

when Tiergan realized what the council was saying to him he gave them quite the lecture according to Wylie

they left him alone after that. he didn’t know what Tiergan said but he didn’t care they where leaving him alone, finally

he opened up a bit more after that at least to Tiergan, Tam was up really late one night just staring out one of the windows into the ocean

Tiergan sat down next to him and Tam jumped a little, Tiergan apologized for startling him, asked him how he was feeling, Tam told him that he didn’t feel like sleeping and wanted to stay up

he asked Tam if there was a particular reason that he wanted to stay up or if he just wasn’t tired

he didn’t mean tell Tiergan, he was going to say that he just wasn’t tired, but he told him that he was scared to sleep

he told him that he had laid down to go sleep but his brain wouldn’t stop screaming at him that he wasn’t safe that he was in danger. that someone was going to get him

his brain wouldn’t stop screaming Danger DANGER DANGER!

and he couldn’t get it to stop, and even if he could get to sleep the night terrors would come which are worse,

after he said all that Tam felt an idiot, now Tiergan was going to pity him or feel guilty that he was hurt, or see him as a burden

but instead Tiergan asked “do you want to talk about it, be distracted from it, or be alone”

Tam didn’t answer at first and then he said “i don’t wanna talk about it anymore” he didn’t mean to talk about it in the first place

“oaky do you want me to leave?” Tiergan asked standing up

“NO!” Tam said much louder than he meant too “it’s worse when i’m alone”

why was he acting like a little kid he could take care of himself, he didn’t need to be a burden.

Tiergan sat back down, Tam looked at him “sorry i’m being such a burden you can go to bed i’ll be fine” he said

Tiergan was quiet for a long time, Tam tensed up waiting for a lecture but he put his hand on Tam shoulder and looked at him in the eye

“Tam who told you you’re a burden?”

“my mom” he said matter a factly “she always liked Linh better”

“she always said i would have been such a great son, if i didn’t act like such a burden, if i wasn’t a twin”

Tiergan wrapped his arm around Tams shoulder, “Tam a burden is something you’re forced to take care of, i want to take of you, i take care of you on purpose”

with that Tam stated sobbing, he didn’t understand why so small would make him hard, Tiergan held him close rocking him whispering “you’re safe” over and over. until Tam fell asleep

Cannon Things In KOTLC People Seem To Forget:

Also me just being mad that people don't talk about something I love lol

- Sophie is SHORT. She is SMALL. Which also means Dex was even SHORTER in the first book or two.

- Biana feels left out and forgotten by her parents because of Fitz.

- Alvar was a glass child. Invisible, which is ironic considering his ability, but yeah. He was pretty much outshined by his siblings. (Probably gay to tbh.)

- Fitz has daddy issues and he's spoiled. Have you seen how Alden is with him? If I had a dad like that I'd have tantrums too. (Lucky me I got a pedo dad and an mostly absent mom... ✨ yay✨)

- Keefe is a year ahead of people his age, he's younger then Fitz too but is still second place in class ranking.

- Marella's mom had a head injury. She has brain damage. People don't talk about that enough.

- Sophie has crippling anxiety and self worth issues because of her up bringing. She was literally bullied and if that wasn't enough she had to hear what EVERYONE really thought about her. She is literally so brave and has incredible patience. (Y'all need to hop off my home girls ass, she's literally so fucking interesting.)

- Bronte has curly hair... WHY DOES NO ONE TALK ABOUT THIS???

- Everyone has british accents but crisper. (I always forget this when I read unless it's Fitz talking 💀)

- Cognat's are like married couples. (PRENTICE AND TIERGAN MAN— GET TOGETHER ASDNJSJD)

- There are a lot of blond haired characters. Like... a lot.

- Stina is a tall girl with curly hair and is so pretty.

- Dex, Lex, Bex, Rex, and Kesler are RED. HEADS. GOD DAMNIT. STOP MAKING THEM BLOND.

- Edaline and Julien are sisters. I feel like we don't talk enough about that and we don't see enough of them being sisters.

- Most of the adults are manipulative, even the good ones. Edaline and Kesler are like the two safest options in the series.

- Ro cares a lot about Keefe (it's buried deep but it's there.)

um hello, im Evie and I’m not an experienced writer, but I like imagining scenarios with the characters and stories I like, so I figured I’d try to share them, so maybe you could enjoy them too!

I typically imagine myself in these scenarios so I apologize if the reader presents feminine or is described in any way that might exclude another reader… uh, anyways, basically this is a short one shot/ head cannon/ prompt…? (I’m honestly not sure) about Keefe Sencen meeting and sort of falling for (human) reader while in the forbidden cites. It didn’t really follow the plot or timeline of stellerloon, it’s implied that he’s in the forbidden cities much longer than in the book and that he struggles way more with adapting and it’s probably very ooc…anyways I love Sokeefe but I just though the idea was interesting :]

oh this also isn’t proofread and it’s probably really cringy but yeah, there isn’t enough x reader fics in the Kotlc fandom so I figured I’d try, feedback and constructive criticism are welcome and encouraged :))

To put things simply, he was lost, hungry, confused, and currently short on cash. Turns out walking around with the money from his mothers jewelry in his pockets…wasn’t the safest plan. He’d lost a good amount of it, and probably been scammed out of most of it. He’d considered sneaking back to the lost cites to steal borrow some more of mommy-dearest’s stuff, but the idea of getting caught and possibly facing his friends caused him to quickly scratch that plan. Besides, if he could get away with it the fist time, then it would probably be even easier to take some things from one of the fancier human houses he had paced by in his travels.

So here he was, standing outside the biggest house he had seen in the neighborhood, if you could call it that- all the houses were so far apart that of you tried to walk from the first one to the last one, you might need to stop and camp before continuing to the end.

He had planned it all out-making sure to use the weird human invention called a phone- to look up the owners, make sure they weren’t very good people, or that they’d be home that particular night. He could easily levitate to one of the higher windows since no one would be around. The (l/n) family would be in their vacation home, far from here, and no grounds workers or servants would be back until the owners were ready to return.

It would be easy, slip in, grab a few valuable things, maybe some food too, then slip out and continue on his way to London. What he didn’t have a plan for, was you.

His plan had been going smoothly, he was inside and sifting through your mother’s jewelry box, when you walked in.

For a moment you both stared at each other. You, at the seemingly your age and incredibly handsome boy in black jeans and a Batman hoodie that was currently holding a pair of your mothers diamond earrings- and him at a girl, probably a little younger than him, standing in a soft pink nightgown, and holding a metal baseball bat in both hands.

That seemed to snap him out of his initial shock, and quickly throw his hands up so you wouldn’t hit him with it.

Braking your own trance, you pulled the bat back, and demanded, “Who are you? Why are you in my house? How did you even get in? Wha-”

He was quick to back up a bit before interrupting your questions, “I’m Keefe, I swear I’m not here to hurt you, I just needed to make some money real quick,I thought your family was away, I wouldn’t have come if I’d know you’d be home!” He internally smacked himself for his stupid mistake.

“Oh yeah ‘cause that makes it so much better” you said while rolling your eyes and lowering your arms and ignoring the strange feeling you got about him not wanting to be there while you were, even though it made no sense for you to be upset by that. You decided to blame it on the fact that it was 2:47 am and he just happens to have really nice hair.

You pitched your voice lower to mimic his before adding, “I swear I’d only steal from you if I didn’t think you’d be home to catch me (y/n) sorry ‘bout that.” and then swung the bat around to place the head on the floor and lean your weight against it while smirking at him.

His eyebrows shot up, surprised that you were almost joking with him right now, instead of clobbering his head with the bat, like he thought you were about to. He cleared his throat, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it like that, I just-actually I don’t know what I was trying to achieve with that..” He brought his arms down to wrap them around himself, before deciding that he probably looked stupid standing in front of you like that. Especially since you seemed so calm.

“Um, I should go,, I don’t, this was a mistake, sorry, I-I should probably go now-God I sound like an idiot right now. No wonder you aren’t scared of me. Not that i wanted you to be, of course i didn’t. Who would want a pretty girl with a weapon to be scared of them? Not that I think you’re pretty. I mean you’re not, not, pretty im just-“

It was time for your to cut him off, “hey! Relax ok, im honestly not sure what your rambling about right now, but you look like you haven’t eaten in days, and im going to ignore the fact that you called me ugly and pretty just now and offer you some food so you stop trying to steal from me.”

He took a step closer to you, confused as to why he was being so unlike himself right and even more confused as to why you were now offering him kindness. He focused on the emotions coming from you, trying to figure out if you were only helping him out of pity, but only finding empathy and a few more frantic vibes.

You shifted under his suddenly intense-and very close (seriously when had he backs you up against your mothers vanity chair)-gaze, the moonlight steaming through the open window highlighted his eyes and you could see in your proximity the striking ice blue and the darker flecks of azure, cobalt, and royal blue. but you shook your head and forced yourself to ignore his stunning eyes to push him back and question why he had gotten so quite and intense.

He apologized and stepped even further back. “ I guess I was trying to see why you were being so nice to me.”

“And you thought the best way was to push the limits of stranger danger and stare into my soul all intensely with your snowstorm eyes?”

You had meant to be teasing him, but the words came out quieter then you meant them to be, and he seemed to pick up on the later half more than the first.

“So… you were staring at my eyes?” There he was, flirty and teasing and giving you a smirk that had your insides doing weird flippy-floppy things they didn’t usually do.

You felt your face get warm, and you prayed to whatever higher powers there might be that your face wasn’t nearly as red as it felt.

Not that it mattered of course.

He gave you another smirk before letting out a laugh that would have the best choir angels embarrassed by their singing abilities. And that had your betraying face warm even more.

“C’mon, let’s get you something to eat before you push me into this mirror” you quickly turned to the door to lead him towards your own room.

He followed you down the long hallway while teasing you about the pink hue that still refused to let up, particularly due do his continued torture.

You grabbed a coat from your closet and pocketed some cash before leading him out the front door.

“So where are we going (n/n)? I didn’t see anything down this way to eat while I was stalki-er, uh, looking up this place.” He cringed at himself for reminding you about the circumstances of your meeting.

You ignored the word slip and the little nickname in favor of describing a little town with plenty of back alley restaurants that you often snuck out to eat at when your parents were actually home.

He caught the shift in your mood when you mentioned your parents and decided to risk asking about it, besides, how much weirder could this first meeting get?

“Sooo…. I’m kinda confused about something.” “Yeah? What’s up?” You slowed slightly to look at him while he spoke, noticing his slight shift in tone.

“Well, you don’t have to answer or anything, since you don’t really know me-”

“Oh wow, uh sorry to interrupt, but it feels like I do, given how easy it is to talk to you, strange that we only meet what? An hour ago?”

He stoped walking completely to stare at you. “Really? Only an hour? Huh it does feel like we’ve know each other longer…”

The both of you fell quite for a moment before walking again, this time with your destination in sight.

“Uh anyways, why are you here, if your parents and staff are away?” He focused on you emotions to make sure he hadn’t seriously overstepped.

“Oh, well, we don’t really agree about much, or anything really. They’re jerks that only care about money and showing off to other people about how perfect they are. My mom is always taking about how young men approach her about leaving her husband because shes so ‘naturally’ beautiful and my dad is always bragging about how incredibly smart he is and how good he is at handling his business. They like to talk about how well they raised me, even though they never spent time with me or did any of the parenting stuff, and they like to parade around like they’re better than everyone when really, they’re miserable together and they’re always doing shady shit behind the scenes of their business. When they said they wanted to go on a cruise around one of their vacation homes I refused to go with them because they’d just ignore me and force me to play along with their stupid charade.”

By now you were standing in front of a tiny Italian restaurant with low lights and tall booths, very warm and inviting, the perfect safe space that just so happened to smell amazing. And Keefe was more than ready to eat whatever smelled so good. Even if it meant more of the god-awful human water.

But he couldn’t help but stop to watch you for a minute. It was insane how easy it felt to be around you, and safe. He had been in the forbidden cities for months and this was the safest he’d felt in a very long time. Everything about you felt like a complement to him. Even your shitty social status obsessed parents were another way you were similar.

You looked at him, and for a moment he wondered if the weird emotional flurry around you meant you felt the same way. “Keefe? We should head inside, and you can tell me about whatever led to you breaking into my house.”

You giggled at him, it was soft and sweet and he absolutely believed that you could bribe any of the councilors to do your bidding if you wanted to with that laugh.

The rest of the night (or rather, incredibly early morning) was spent sharing every detail about both his and your lives, even when he confessed that he was an elf you barely bat an eye, and he could tell that you genuinely didn’t mind that his mom had done all kinds of weird shit to his head.

You shared your own secrets as well, and you marveled at how accepting he was. Everyone and everything faded away, and for a few hours you were simply two teens that could really understand each other, and it was you best either of you had felt in a very long time.

As the sun came up you took him to the roof of a flower shop that had yet to open for the day. Together you sat and shared the desert from the restaurant while you described your passion for drawing, and he described his. Everything just seem perfect and both you and him wished it could last forever.

Of course things could never be that easy, after all, he explained why he was in the forbidden cities, and you understood that he would probably return to his world eventually, but that did nothing to stop the overwhelming desire to kiss him and run away together.

Even as he explained how his empathy worked and you tried to get your emotions in check so he wouldn’t think you were insane for developing such strong feelings in the span of a few hours, nothing could shadow them.

And when he looked at you, even more intensely than that first time he read you in your mothers bedroom, you couldn’t help but feel like he felt the same way.

He leaned forward slightly and you met him halfway, there was a hairs space between you, and you could feel his warm breath, see all the different blues in his eyes, and smell his soft skin…

“Wait Keefe.”

He froze and his eyes opened so wide you almost worried they would crack like real ice.

“Yes (y/n)? Is something wrong? Did I say something or-”

You cut him off before could spiral, trying to make your emotions clear so he wouldn’t worry so much.

“ I have to ask, after everything you’ve said, are you staying or leaving?”

He paused before pulling back and letting out a deeply emotional sigh. “I have to go, there’s still so much I don’t know or understand, and I still haven’t made it to London to look for those people and, wait! What if, and I know this might sound crazy but…”

He trailed off looking afraid to continue. You could feel your heart beating faster than ever before, and you tried to not get your hopes up. Gently, you urged him to continue, especially since these next words could change everything for you.

He said your name in a way that made your soul tingle and your stomach knot, “Would you be willing, to leave with me?”

You stared at each other for a moment, before you closed your eyes and quickly but softly pressed your lips to his. For a moment, your were scared, for a moment, you considered pulling back, for a moment, you thought you read all his teasing and flirting wrong and completely ruined the best night of your life, and then? He was kissing you back. He was wrapping an arm around your waist and cupping his hand around your face. He was blushing and nervous and probably feeling everything you were feeling.But he was kissing you back. And everything felt perfect.

Slowly you pulled apart and he reseted his forehead against yours while closing his eyes.

The two of you sat there, on the roof of the flower shop, bathed in soft light of the rising sun, practically glowing in each other’s arms.

It would be risky, but leaving everything behind for him seemed worth it, not that there was anything really keeping you here. Maybe you were crazy, but leaving with him felt like the best idea you had ever had, and you were not going to give that up.

He could only hope that none of this would put you in to much danger, but he’d do anything to protect you now, and keep you by his side. Maybe he was crazy, or maybe his mom had truly screwed his head on wrong after she messed him up, but this was the best thing that ever happened to him, and he was not about to give that up.

•Keefe is like a head or more taller then sophie (It's cannon that he's atleast a little bit taller then her but still)

•I feel like Keefe would propose in the place they first kissed at

• Bianna thinks sokeefe cute but Fitz has some resentment and jealousy

•ELWIN SHIPS SOKEEFE

•So does Ro (Ik it's cannon so don't tell me it is)

•Literally everyone ships sokeefe except Grady and fitz.

•Keefe loves physical affection

•Keefe calls Sophie darling

•Dex starts liking biana after the kiss with Sophie

•Biana starts liking dex somewhere (Probably after book 5 idk tho)

•The painting Fitz gave Sophie in Legacy anytime she sees it she thinks of Keefe.

•Keefe is CONSTANTLY winking at Sophie

•Anytime Keefe says anything along the lines of "I know I'm amazing." He does a sassy little hair flip.

•Fintan and Marella gossip

•Brant had another estate he lived in for the rest of the year that fintan gave him.

•Fitz is matched with chandelier (Sorry i had to)

•Wylie and Linh have something and I will fight someone over this.

•When Keefe and Sophie get married Keefe is taking Foster. I will fight someone over this

•Amy ships sokeefe

•Sophie keeps keefes letter under her pillow after he runs away and until he comes back.

•Sophie's snark/ attitude comes from missing Keefe/ being around him to much. And when he comes back he falls even more in love with her because of it.

•After Keefe comes back, and while Grady and Keefe are doing their training Grady warms up to Keefe.

• Jolie and brant were arguing about something (probably him trying to get her to recruit her to the neverseen) and he lost control of his ability and started the fire

•Jolie was in the black swan for a couple months before she died

•I know there isn't a ton to go off. But I think Kenric is still alive. But he staged his death. (The more I think the more plot holes I see)

•Kenralie has kissed.

As much as Juline hated secrets, she had never wanted Kesler to know about her involvement with the Black swan. she wanted him to be far away from it. she didn’t want him to be in danger. but she her involvement was revealed out of her control, and it hurt Kesler in a way that made Juline worry if she had ruined their relationship for good.

In The Stars (on going series)

The In The Stars series is a look at Sophie and Dex’s kidnapping from their parent's pov, and how they all react to their children’s supposed death in their own ways during the two in a half weeks their children are missing.

Elwin deals with a lot of guilt from not being able to save all the kids who were banished. he doesn’t like to think about it or think about himself at all. he puts all his energy into Keefe because he thinks it will be easier to focus on one kid. but it proves to be a lot harder than he had anticipated

idk why I’m sharing my kotlc ocs bc I’m not an oc type of fan but oh well (my ocs are more of just characters I head cannon to exists out there) + drawings I did of them (this is the abridged version dw ur not going to be reading a dissertation on them 💀)

Selma Akhenaten

- She’s a vociferator so she doesn’t speaks much

- her uncle (and favorite relative) is councillor Noland

- her two cousins, aunt and uncle, dad, and younger brothers are all frosters so she really can’t stand them

- the only way she would be “plot relevant” if she was cannon is one time she got paired up with sophie is p.e

- rbf + the fact she doesn’t speak much makes everyone think she is rude and judgmental

- really powerful vociferator but it means she’s destroyed parts of her house on accident

- loves listening to gossip but hates it when people talk bad about the council

- dresses up very nice and elaborately (I just didn’t feel like drawing that

- after fitz and sophie ran off she was the star prodigy at foxfire and was annoyed when they came back

Baldwyn Mowbray

- a mesmer

- was one of the first three councillors

- he was helping out humans with leprosy (for the human aid program) and ended up catching it himself

- because of his leprosy he resigned from the council

- the leprosy affects him similarly but not the same as humans

- he spends most of his time now skulking around and being emo and wearing face coverings

- was a homoerotic baddie before he became a leper

- friends with Bronte and Fallon (was friends with Fintan and talks to him/refuses to accept he is evil) (I told u he was homoerotic)

- lost all of his fingers on one hand

- is barely functioning

- bc of how hard and painful it is for him he doesn’t allow many visitors to see him (other than Fallon or Bronte) (and Fintan)

Odelyn Dizznee

- Dex’s (wine) aunt

- a technopath

- the neverseens technopath

- her code name is “vulcana” like “Vulcan” god of blacksmiths

- loves bright pink and would get along w Biana (if she wasn’t part of neverseen and has been for decades)

- the first time sophie saw her was in her neverseen outfit but Dex wasn’t there so no one recognized her and no one put the pieces together for a long time (like until Dex saw her)

- joined during her time at foxfire after Kesler was forced to go to exilium even though he was smarter than most of the school

- started to hate the council because of how talentless people were treated and it descended into her being a (noble)-blood-thirsty villain

- keeps everyone in the neverseen from dying bc they haven’t slept since the dawn of man

- is good at alchemy and buys stuff from keslers store all the time for them (the neverseen)

saw your post asking about autistic kotlc headcanons but it won't let me reblog and i can't find it now so i'm assuming you deleted it but. i would love to answer your question (as an autsitic kotlc fan) with: yes! you can totally headcanon technopaths and telepaths as autistic! dex is a character that i've read for a long time as having undiagnosed autism, and autistic!sophie headcanons are near and dear to my heart (they involve sophitz, if you wanna hear me scream about it just shoot me an ask), as well as other autistic character headcanons. just off the top of my head ik i headcanon elwin as autistic and keefe as having adhd and autism (even though i originally read him as just having adhd, but there's reasoning that i could ramble about for a long time and i doubt you want that unsolicited). autism is a spectrum and there's a lot of characters i can see as having different places on said spectrum that would be cool to explore through headcanons. so by all means, share away, friendo :)

Hey Izzy! I was legit thinking about you and about to send an ask about the Sophitz fic I finally started (though it's only the prologue where Sophie and Amy move in with Edaline, Grady, Jolie, and Keefe. There is a lot of really good sibling dynamics I adore, and Keefe is so full of life and energy that it kinda makes me want to cry about how happy he could have been in cannon if he'd grown up with Elwin or Grady and Edaline where he would've been shown unconditional love and support.) Anyways, yeah, I deleted that post because I was scared that I was being appropriating or something because I don't have autism so I shouldn't write characters with autism because I don't understand it as well as someone who has autism or is on the spectrum. I'm not sure how to write it properly to be authentic and yet, but I'm going to do it exactly how I write other things I'm not an expert on like sewing and watch a whole bunch of videos and read articles and talk to people I know who would be good resources (ex: could sew or are on the autism spectrum) so I can figure out how to portray it accurately. Also, I would love some autistic!sophie ideas, especially if Sophitz is involved and I'd love ADHD autistic Keefe ideas because I've also always thought of Keefe as ADHD and somewhere on the spectrum. And I have OCD and I see a lot of my own tendencies in Fitz (my dad has OCD too, but he reminds me more of Alden or Cassius.) I'd love to hear all of it and I'm totally going to be sending asks as soon as I finish typing this ask. Thought I'd do another doodle dump. These are some ocs (kinda. Two are characters from books that I've warped beyond recognition_ but kept the names and world soooo idk) and some random characters I've doodled in my sketchbook. Here's the individual pictures.

This is that apocalyptic future Sophie from kotlc I mentioned here

She's actually kinda happy here so good for her.

This is a random oc I thought of randomly. I kind of pictured it in the rangers apprentice world (just to give me an idea, there's literally nothing linking it to those series I just needed a world).

Anyway, the thing here is that he was part of a group of people (hired by the ruler of the area) to clear a forest of these (haven't nailed down a name for them yet) magical creatures. The ruler doesn't like them despite them only fighting back when attacked, and they've been trying for years to clear the forest of them, so the whole population of them is pissed. They're also very earth connected, as is kind of shown eight the crystal-like horns they have, and that relates to their powers in a way I have not figured out yet. Anyway, kid gets bitten or whatever but the point is, he slowly starts transforming into one of them. This isn't expected bc as far as most people know, those who enter and are caught just disappear. He can still look human, and can switch between his forms, but the conflict is with him and his team.and you get the point. Trying not to hurt either side, panic that he's a monster, the whole shebang.

Fun fact the creatures were originally evil, but making him struggle with knowing they're not is more fun 😈

This lady is the least developed, mainly bc I've done one drawing of her before this and then never touched it again.

This was the old drawing and I almost like it a bit more. Anyway, I'm picturing her to be an oracle/telekinesis type magic user in a world I have no information about.

The other two I wasn't really thrilled with, and their both from that one weird rangers apprentice au I mentioned here.

The first one, I hadn't figured out how to do highlights with my markers, and the second, the white pen I was using for.said highlights kept turning pink, which bugged me, and I kept going over it until it just looked bad. :( quit while you're ahead ig.

Lowkey. Fitz should have more non noble friends. Like it's weird how little the kotlc characters actually interact w non noble characters esp given The Whole Plot and also Dex and Elwin and Marella, but like yeah I feel like once Fitz goes more out of his comfort zone and said friends get over any preconceived notions they might have he'd get alone way better w people who have a reason to distrust the council than those who benefit from it.

I'm digging through all my ocs trying to find someone for him to be friends with but they're all Wylie's age :(

My kotlc theory that I won’t accept not becoming cannon is Sophie breaking Gethen’s mind. This series started with those two and it’s gonna end with those two. Sophie has always focused on him and pushed for the Black Swan and Council to interrogate him and push him to see what he’s hiding. In the Unlocked Neverseen section she stated that she believes he’s the villain they should be focusing on the most and she wants to break into his mind. The buildup to this has been left in breadcrumbs this whole time and I would cut off my left arm to see this happen for real.

Oh Nonsie now I am just as invested as you are in the completion of the circle for the two of them. For some reason my brain went "this started with Gethen bit by a dog and it should end with Sophie biting him this time." Um. Maybe she shouldn't bite him but like let's maintain the sentiment, you know?

I mean, of the antagonists whose names we know he's one of the only ones we haven't really explored. Yes there's also Trix, but Trix was introduced a lot later and we've never talked to him. But Gethen has always been there and yet we know so so little. Who is he? Why did he join the Neverseen? What's his goal among all of this? Fintan is in prison, Gisela's focused on Keefe, Vespera doesn't want to be associated with Gisela and has her own goals. Where does that leave the rest of the Neverseen?

It'd also be absolutely fascinating to see the immediate lead up and repercussions of Sophie making that kind of decision to break someone's mind. Not even necessarily her going "I'm going to break him" but her pushing so hard that it happens anyway. Because she has exerted truly impressive amounts of energy in someone's head without breaking them, so the level of anger or indignation she'd have to get to to reach that point. Then she's faced with the question of whether or not it was worth it, whether he deserves to be healed. Because no matter what anyone else decides, it's her that makes it happen.

I think whether or not she breaks his mind, we have to have a scene where she's in his head. The number of times she's been told not to search his mind and how eager he's been for her to do it...we have to see what happens when she finally does it! What she learns, what she finds, what it's like, why people tried to get her out.

If we go with the theory that Gethen, a powerful blond telepath whose identity reveal would shake their world, is her father, then I suggest a scene where upon finally disregarding what everyone else says about reading his mind, she goes all in and finds the secret he's been hiding--that he's her bio father and that's why Mr. Forkle has always insisted that he be the one to search his mind. Not just because she's important and Gethen is dangerous, but because inside his mind Mr. Forkle doesn't have control and he can tell her anything he wants, share any secret information Forkle has sequestered away. It could be like a power play. Gethen never says it out loud, he lets Sophie find it for herself as she thinks she's about to unlock some secret to defeated the Neverseen, and then also shattering her trust between Forkle and her because how could he pick Gethen, how could he not tell her?

We've got two books left and there's been reasonable build up specifically around Gethen and Sophie, Nonsie. There is not only a possibility but almost a necessity to address it in order to tie up the trail. I don't know if we'll get a broken mind, but we're getting something!!

He has everything. Gnome collections, rock collections, medicine/herbal collections, knife collections, plants collections, stick collections(him and Biana fight over sticks it's so funny), sticker collections, book collections, jewelry collections (this includes traditional Indian jewelry bc The Vacker's brown idc), clothing collections, shell collections, collections of things that remind him of ppl, ribbons, beads, wires, Doorknobs, carpets, chairs???, star charts, bottle caps, socks, vinyl records, lightbulbs, glitter, stationary, random human junk, Dirt even. Rocks again, literally thousands of rocks. Fitz = rock.  He's such a hoarder. Bro even collects cats. You cannot convince me he has an army of pigeons that he has from his time in the human world. Speaking of human cities. he has a trinket from every area he visited, canonically. He has those ugly tourist baseball caps. The "I love New York" t-shirts. used coffee cups from like Starbucks. flattened soda cans. He looks at those soda cans in wonder. It'll forever be a mystery of what these things are. He'll never put two and two together that unflattened soda cans, and flattened soda cans are the same thing. He's mystified. But because he collects so much random shit, he has a lot of cool things too. Like dinosaur fossils(he's a dinosaur boy) that are really rare. Ancient pots and scrolls and other historical things. And he knows the history behind everything bc he's a nerd. Dude could become a billionaire just from the things he owns. He has three Toyotas(that he hot wired???? somehow???). A private jet. A yacht. And iPhone 13. a laptop that he doesn't know how to use. A lottttt of human movies/TV shows which he doesn't know he has. But he does. POKEMON CARDS. He plays the Pokemon games on Nintendo. He and Dex do pokemon battles. Fitz always loses. YU-GI-OH CARDS. Omg bro would be the only one who knows how to Play Yu-Gi-Oh. he's a master at it Dex loses to him in Yu-Gi-Oh sadly. Board games, card games. Comic books. He likes DC more than marvel bc I like DC more than marvel. Idk who his favorite  superhero would be. I could do a post on everyone's favorite. baseball cards. Press on nails. CDs. Action figures. fake lashes. candy. Harry Potter wizard wands (he thought they were sticks). Antique Chess boards. Sooooo many cooking supplies. None of the Vackers can cook because they're clowns, so when Della see's her son doing some stress baking, she encourages him to expand into cooking and now he cooks dinner for the entire gang sometimes. He has all the versions of the air-fryers. he uses none of them. Knives that are sharper than Ro's daggers somehow. He owns human property too. Illegally. bc he's a minor and also a citizen of zero human countries. so he has forged documents too. He has 6 pounds of crystal meth. He has no idea what it is, but he has it, he thinks it's plant fertilizer. Don't ask how. For all his Vacker properness, Fitz goes feral in the forbidden cities. He collects pride flags too, for Biana and someday himself, when he stops being in denial. of course all this stuff and he still doesn't have a single human penny to his name. Sophie's feeling homesick so Fitz shows her his hoard. She goes crazy. Everyone makes a day of looking through Fitz's stuff. What crazy is that all of this is under his bed. it's all in there. It's magic. You're wrong if you think Fitz is a normal guy. he's not.
