i understand what people are saying when they talk about fandom overstating the importance of farcille to the dunmeshi narrative and that their frustrations are related to a larger frustration with fandom in general prioritising shipping over other relationships/narrative themes. HOWEVER i do find it a little suspect and annoying that the one time the Big Tumblr Thing Of The Month has a popular f/f ship that the fandom is over-extrapolating from in the same way that fandom usually over-extrapolates m/m relationships i'm suddenly seeing all these posts complaining about it

As a q!BBH fan myself, sooo many of his fans suffer from a victim complex it's wild.

Like everytime q!BBH receives any sort of consequences people immediatly forget anything this man could've possibly done (or sometimes it's literally just a joke) to deserve people's animosity.

I see so many people be like "ahahah q!BBH's morals are fucked up yeeeaah" but then as soon as other characters start disliking him for it people immediatly jump to "ohnoooo he is so tragic, he doesnt deserve it people are so mean to him".

When like I'm sorry ever since Purgatory the instances of people being mean to him were either jokes or completely justified.

I'm already seeing people push blame on q!Tina when he literally attempted to manipulated her and threw her girlfriend under the bus when it came to the Cellbit situation.

Also did you all forget that q!BBH was willing to kill everybody on the island for the eggs ?

People also seem to have forgotten how q!BBH immediatly took advantage of q!Pac's kindness to lie to him but I suppose manipulation isn't as bad as "being really mean to someone"

It's fascinating how fast parts of the Star Wars fandom is turning on Dave Filoni. It seems to be the in the wake of a disappointing season kf the Mandalorian amd Ahsoka being just kind of ok, some folks have decided he is and always has been a hack. Which like... no, go rewatch Clone Wars and tell me he's a hack. Then watch Tales of the Jedi and tell me he still isn't writing bangers. Its like the Internet is just incapable of the conception that someone who is capable of good writing may occasionally write something that's not that good.

Personally? I'd love to see more variety. One of the chief reasons why I enjoy reading fan fiction is finding new things I like - perhaps some pairing I hadn't considered before, some batshit premise or crossover that turns out to be actually brilliant, or maybe a cool genfic that explores previously unseen sides of a character or character dynamic that people don't write about very often. I'm not really the kind of person who seeks out fic based on specific tropes. Once I've read a story with a certain trope in a fandom, it's pretty unlikely that I'll go and read another one with a very similar premise, unless I really enjoy the author's writing.

So what I'd be excited about seeing in the AO3 tag would honestly just be: something new. For instance, a sapphic Sibylla/OC fic would be such a fascinating read (as would be anything at all that explores Sibylla's character a bit more). Or a Saladin-centric fic - sign me the hell up. I'd adore finding something for Godfrey or Imad, and we all know a new Tiberias fic would have me foaming at the mouth. I'd also love an interesting and/or wacky AU (and I'd write one myself if I had the time). Make it Jane Austen and let Baldwin have a gentleman suitor, while Sibylla elopes Lydia-Bennett style with Guy, and Godfrey and Raymond grump about in the Navy. Write a daemon AU (as in His Dark Materials) in the canonical universe. Or throw them all into the 21st century and let Reynald send Saladin threatening messages via fax.

I know the KoH fandom is much too small to engender the sort of variety I'd ideally like to see, and it's only reasonable for writers to sort of double down upon the fic premises and tropes that have done well in terms of hits and comments in the past and write more of the stuff the majority enjoys. As far as taste goes, I'm aware I'm the complete outlier here, and I really don't mean to antagonise anybody with this post or insult their writing or reading preferences. I'm glad your fics are doing well, folks, I truly am - it's only that I'm very likely not the target audience for them. Sometimes I just wish I weren't the only freak in the circus, lol.

judaism does not have a concrete idea of the afterlife. we especially don't have Hell (or at least, not a hell that anyone actually, like, agrees exists? the mentions i have found of something similar to heaven and hell are typically in the context of what will happen upon the resurrection of the dead?? it's really complicated but point being is that nobody fucking agrees and i doubt any jews believe in the Christian Hell. cause we are not diet christians!)

the seven deadly sins? yeah that's a firmly christian concept. we have demons (although whether or not these demons are actual creatures or just metaphorical? it's debatable.) but all of this seven sins nonsense is not our style. demons honestly don't really take up a ton of our folklore either (they're mostly interpreted as metaphors). imagine mc at the start of the game getting introduced to the brothers as the Demonic Avatars of Sin and being just like. "wow that's wild. anyways,"

we do not have original sin in judaism. not even a scrap. in fact if you repent and/or try to make amends for your sins you're good. there's a lot of potential there for writing right? please i am BEGGING for some fics that address sin in a way that's not overwhelmingly christian i can't keep doing this shit
