Behold, what happens when I'm bored and get a dumb idea.

So yeah, I'm starting a Genshin X Kingdom Hearts au! I'll be putting out a lore post at another time to explain the basic plot, but for now the short of it is instead of ending up in Quadratum, Sora got lost in Teyvat, so now Riku, Kairi, and a good few others who accidentally got dragged along for the ride to try find him.

Note: Also, the characters I've done art of aren't the only ones who are in the AU, this is just who I've drawn so far so I hope you enjoy!

i half remember a second hand maybe rumor abt nobodies not aging- which, if that is a thing that was said, i think we can agree is a blatant lie. getting back to the point, sometimes i think abt the org members who were nobody’d as kids and get sad. some of these characters spent huge swaths of their life not experiencing emotions,,,

I really love that the union leaders offical keyblades in khux are keyblade forms you can only get in khχ

Except for Brain and Ventus, Brains obviously because his keyblade is masters defender and it gets passed down in the future, it is however still his keyblade first, it notably doesn't change design as its given to ephemer, eraqus and aqua

Ventus however, hes using a player keyblade, the only other game it has appeared in is 358/2 days and its roxas' and xion's blade (man i only just thought about it now but ven and rox really do parallel on the aggressive amnesia -> immediately getting picked up by a xehanort and abused pipeline, you could even see ven and van getting ripped in half and rox and sora getting torn apart with a keyblade in the heart- i should stop this isn't what this is about) and saying that it is (i think) literally the first keyblade roxas gets that isn't kingdom key

You get it as a reward for mission 6 (day 13, what a coincidence) Mission 1 (day 8) is the tutorial with Axel and the icing on the cake Mission 2 (day 9) is a combat tutorial with Marluxia Mission 3 (day 10) is a tutorial about additional objectives with Zexion Mission 4 (day 11) is a tutorial about how to use magic with Larxene Mission 5 (day 12) is a tutorial on investigation missions with Vexen Mission 6 (day 13) is the final tutorial, its how to use a limit break with Lexaeus and its clear reward is Missing Ache, in khux terms it would be Missing aches base form (Its is equipped when you equip the skill gear, which funnily enough when you equip that to Marluxia you get Jilted Anemone, flowers that are 'short lived and represent the fragility of life' and when equipped to Larxene you get Orage, which is french for thunderstorm, things that immediately make me think of where those two ended up in the destinations epilouge, anemones even look like the flowers Laurium wakes up ontop of) (its not important but i wanna add in Pain of Solitude which is the second keyblade you get and its a recolour of missing ache in pastel purple and pink, which makes me hc that missing aches is Roxas' and pain of solitude is Xion's, but anyways-)

These are the upgrade paths for starlight in khχ vs khux, Ephemer, Skuld and Strelitiza all wield starlight's third upgrade, Laurium wields divine rose's third upgrade, ones you can't get in khux, missing ache only appears in khux and by khχ upgrade system it would be upgrade 4 (also moon trio ephemer skuld and strel? i feel like that moon symbol on the top of starlight is important and also i wanna give them moon phase theming, could throw isa in there as a treat, new moon strel, cresent moon ephemer, half moon skuld, full moon isa, blood moon berserk?)

So, wasn't there something weird about Player?

So, its been almost two years since KHUX wrapped up, and there's something I'm still thinking about.

Isn't it odd, how Player didn't speak for such a long time in Kingdom Hearts χ? It took almost fifteen months for them to speak their first words during Ephemera's introduction.

But, while its easy to say its because Player is supposed to be a silent protagonist, that gets less and less true as the game went on.

Player has quite the speech during Quest 555, or Quest 979, for example. Player certainly has things to say, and certainly makes choices beyond what we, the audience, would choose for ourselves.

So then, why is Player so quiet, especially at first?

Well, Kingdom Hearts has an example of this before.

Xion.

I don't think Player had a heart, before Quest 362. More than that, I don't think they were a nobody, since the timeline on that makes no sense.

I think Player is a replica.

Puppet Without a Heart:

First off though, lets break down why I believe Player doesn't have a heart for a second.

The first time Player speaks, its to Ephemera. But what I haven't mentioned is that Player has interacted with keyblade wielders before that.

Right before that, in fact, by the standard of KHUX. In Quest 231, Player has a short interaction with another set of wielders, where they don't talk at all.

The quest goes about standard with Player hunting some new heartless along with some other wielders. They all promise to meet up, afterwards.

But, unfortunately, they don't make it back.

(They certainly have a bad history with 'promises.')

I think this, along with all of their other adventures (Olympus in particular we'll be getting back to), was the inciting incident for their heart coming into life.

As Ansem the Wise said, "The heart has always been quick to grow. Each exposure to light, to the natural world, to other people, shapes this most malleable part inside of us." This is true of nobodies, but its even faster in replicas.

So if Player's a replica, why are they a replica? Who made them?

Easy.

If you are going to tell me Master of Master's wouldn't make replicas, I don't know what to say.

And he clearly he has some capabilities. looking at Chirithy.

But then, wouldn't every wielder be a replica then? Well, I don't know about that. For one thing, we clearly have some families in the wielders, looking Laurium and Strelitzia.

No, I think Master of Masters made only the one replica.

Player... and in doing so, sowed the seeds for the Nightmare Chirithy.

I Said We'd Get Back to Olympus

So, Master of Masters, when it comes to gaslighting and manipulating his students, truly leaves nothing to chance. He leaves lots of other things to chance, but not that.

So when he told everyone there was a ~nightmare Chirithy~, surely he'd already set that into motion.

But, as far as we can tell, when wielders go dark, most of them don't get a Nightmare, they fall. And, disappear immediately after.

So there's only the one Nightmare Chirithy: ours.

And they have a connection to the Foretellers, that never really got expanded upon.

But then, how did Master of Masters guarentee that we'd gain a Nightmare?

Well, Player explored the worlds, was exposed to people, light... and darkness. Olympus, and its darkness, also happens before we meet Ephemera, and we develop our heart.

Darkness is as much a part of our heart as any modern character. And thus, we have Nightmares.

....that said, I think that's the extent of his manipulations on Player.

The Book of Prophecies, very clearly, doesn't write down everything, and I'm not sure Luxu ever really heard about Player in detail.

For Luxu, our story is that of a background NPC. Player's choices, and their refusal of fate, goes unwritten.

The way the story ends for Player is different than the Book, because Master of Master's never foresaw their bonds.

So everything changed.

Except that, well, Player is still a replica.

I have no idea what effect this will have on the future of the games, but the subtext and foreshadowing is so clear I'm not sure why I've never read this theory from others before!

A Familiar Presence

Aka, 4.6 devastated me and because Clervie reminded me a bit of Strelitzia Laurium get's to join in on my crying-

Isn’t this 1906 Edwardian lovely? It’s in Laurium, Michigan, has 7bd. 7.5ba. and is $849K.

Enter a central hall, stairs down the hall to the right. I can’t tell if the pocket doors are still there, or if the curtains take their place.

Look at the details in the sitting room- the ceiling, thick crown molding and that glorious millwork on the fireplace.

Pay special attention to the spectacular molding in this home. I love how they accented it with color. And. look at the millwork on the fireplace in this sitting room.

Even the ceiling in the hall is beautiful. And look at the columns.

Wow, the dining room has a coffered ceiling, beautiful wainscoting, and it’s large enough to fit a full-size dining set sideways. I don’t know why they don’t show the kitchen, but you can catch a tiny glmpse of it and it doesn’t look bad.

What a lovely butler’s pantry and the cabinet looks original.

Check out the stained glass on the stairs.

Gorgeous landing.

It's pride month!!!!!

Here's some sexuality HCs I have for each organization member I drew

Zexion/ Ienzo: Asexual. VERY ASEXUAL CODED. Single/ no crush cause my guy has been researching 24/7

Saix/ Isa: trans f2m and gay, has a current crush*cough cough Axel* and it's VERY obvious (bbs/ post kh3)

Axel/ Lea: bisexual, has a crush on saix, but thinks Isa doesn't have a crush on him and Roxas and Xion are just disappointed. People think he's a dumbass on that. (Post kh3)

Demyx: pan. No crushes at the moment, but very pan.

Larxene/ elrana: lesbian, used to have a crush on Strelirzia before she was killed(khux), no love interest at the moment.

Marluxia/ laurium: trans f2m(technically cannon) and gay. While he doesn't have any crushes at the moment, he would flirt with brain sometimes for the fun of it.(Khux)

Xion: non-binary(she/ they pronouns) and bisexual. has dating Roxas for a few months now. (Post kh3)

Do you have any Ven headcanons you would like to share?

OH BOY DO I!

He def takes Aqua & Terra at their word in pretty much every regard; upon waking, he felt bad and guilty that he missed everything and they went through so much, but they assured him a handful of times that - they may not be okay now, but they will be and the best thing he can do for them now is be happy and safe.

The news  (read: return of memories) will crush him. Right now he’s perfectly comfy with himself. Maybe not thrilled about the whole x-blade and sleeping for a decade thingy, but knows now that he and Vanitas are separate entities; if anything he feels a little better knowing it wasn't his darkness that resulted in such a malicious creature - and he definitely does over think the fact that Vanitas was hiding in him (or  that he was technically possessed-cause to be fair, who hasn't be). He just takes everything at face value… for now.

Also def does not question his ties to Chirithy either. He's a little confused about it, but it just feels right to have it there so he goes with it.

He’s oblivious to the fact that Aqua is a little hesitant about the creature. Terra is similarly oblivious, but also does not overthink it since he doesn't pick up any kind of malicious vibes - which he's gotten better at doing. A little. 

Slightly less but still petulant that Aqua & Terra dont want him going anywhere alone. Still, he recognizes that it's important to them so he feels it’s the least he can do - even if it’s driving him up a wall cause he wants to help out with Sora (assuming it took them a while to leave for their trip to the Realm of Darkness).

He REALLY enjoyed frisbee with Lea & Isa; he’s genuinely shocked as details about Lea/axel’s past trickle out over time (and it will feed into his eventual thoughts when the whole Laurium/Marluxia thing unfolds).

He’s not at all hesitant to hang out with Roxas and, if anything, he’s intrigued and wants to get to know him. Again, kinda oblivious to the fact Roxas might be hesitant to meet up, though he does pick up on the clues pretty quick and tries to be cognizant of making sure he doesn’t make Roxas uncomfy.

He does NOT do well in the Realm of Darkness. It’s (darkness) resonating with something in him (shifty eyes) that gives him those piercing, groan-inducing headaches and makes him all shaky and sweaty, but he wants to help and doesnt want to worry Aqua and Terra so he doesnt say anything until oopsie - surely something of consequence happens.

Using his light in Realm of Darkness is either SUPER OP and leaves him practically catatonic after use or just straight up hurts to use. After all, the deeper the darkness, the brighter the light shines..
