What are the easiest computer skills to learn?

The ease with which you can learn computer course skills depends on your prior experience and personal aptitude for technology. However, some computer skills are generally considered easier to learn for beginners. Here are a few:
Basic Computer Literacy
Learning how to use a computer, including understanding hardware components, navigating the operating system (e.g., Windows, macOS), and managing files and folders, is fundamental and relatively easy for most people to grasp.
Internet Browsing
Navigating the internet using web browsers like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari is straightforward. You can quickly learn how to search for information, visit websites, and use bookmarks.
Email Management
Setting up and using an email account is a common and accessible skill. You can learn how to send, receive, and organize emails.
Word Processing
Basic word processing skills, such as typing, formatting text, and creating documents in software like Microsoft Word or Google Docs, are relatively easy to acquire.
Spreadsheet
Entry-level spreadsheet tasks, such as creating simple tables and performing basic calculations in programs like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, are beginner-friendly.
File Management
Organizing and managing files and folders on your computer's storage system can be learned quickly. This skill is essential for keeping your digital workspace organized.
Using Social Media
Many people find it easy to set up and use social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) for personal or professional purposes.
Online Shopping and Banking
Learning to make online purchases and manage your finances through online banking is relatively straightforward once you become familiar with secure practices.

I see a lot of sentiment within techum spaces about not understanding how tech actually works and considering tech divine or whatever and like. I really do get it's pretty intimidating, but you can learn how your machines work. In fact I think a lot of you would appreciate your objects even more than you do by learning about how they actually function. Demystify tech in your minds NOW!!!
#I mean. it is pretty intimate yknow. learning how your object actually works#i think it mostly does people harm to just consider their tech some divine unknowable creation.#i feel like it's dehumanising in some way a little also. like real people make tech and real peoples lives are affected by it#humanity is so closely intertwined with the development and creation of tech. yeah#I. need to go to bed very badly I'm so so tired asdfdhshsd. but it's been on my mind#i love learning about puters it strengthens my love and appreciation for em. maybe give it a shot#i know maybe it's easy for me to say having been in tech courses and learning basically my whole life but the resources are out there#this is my british showing sorry but like. craig'n'dave and mrbrowncs on youtube basically carried my entire compsci GCSE assdhh.#also some parts of my computing BTEC really god. asdhsdhdsh#and that's on youtube!! for anyone!!! for free!!!#go exploring!!! there's sooo much out there!!!!#objectum#techum#android.txt

Leo, what has been your favorite “to-the-death” activity thus far? I feel there has to be a workshop-to-the-death somewhere in that hotel.
LEO: I think maybe Magnus was right about talking about the past… I’m not sure I’m ready to do that yet, but thinking about it and doing things that remind me of my old life, it feels like progress. prev ask (also about activities!)

It's funny how most every cyberpunk story or setting thought that due to technology taking over people's lives and humanity, computer literacy would become commonplace enough that the very term would disappear. Everyone in Night City or whatever is super into hacking or can at least give you the difference between hardware, software, antivirus, spam, etc. To not know the basic gists or cybernetics and cyber security is paramount to not knowing how to count or how to read.
In reality we're about to enter an age where knowing how to create a folder or a zip file is back to being ancient lore inscribed in tablets that only the 30 year old who works at your IT office knows how to do. Phones and the growing marketability of easy-access no-customization technology means kids just don't use computers anymore. And it's crazy how fast it happened.
When I was in kindergarten we still had "computer class" once a week, and it was objectively useless for everyone in my class. Regardless of our age or interests, all of us had casual PC time either at home or in cyber cafes, all of us knew how to do things the teachers many times struggled with. The moment typing machine class became keyboard typing class, computers were already dominating most of our time. I learned how to navigate a computer the same way I learned English; by myself, because it was vital for my own interests.
And between highly streamlined video games, single umbrella closed OSs and everything being a fucking app, a 14 year old nowadays is lucky if they know what quotation marks do to your Google results. It's genuinely harrowing how the future is tech-dependent, yet we're becoming completely tech-illiterate.
The worst part is that it's completely on purpose by the tech industry. Much like not being able to fix your own products when they break, if you simply don't know what your phone or your computer can *do*, it's much easier to sell you a borderline identical one a little earlier than you'd actually need it. Phone updates are already pretty much semantic; you can't even see the difference between new models and old ones anymore, unless the visual difference is the point. And it all just gets more and more expensive for less and less bang for your buck.
We never expected the cyberpunk dystopia to be dull, and to rely on making us dumb. Crazy how well it worked.
#technology#tech#computer science#cybersecurity#these dang kids with their foortnoites and their moinecrafts#back in my day we learned to count with age of mythology#bit doom and gloom but seriously the amount of kids who dont know how to operate their own phones any more than boomers do is staggering#its all by design too of course

award for most devil’s sacrament moment of the year goes without a doubt to this morning when my coworker (delivering presentation) (screen projected onto wall in front of me and god and everyone) opened a new tab in google chrome and in the number one spot among the collection of icons for frequently visited websites was. the ao3 logo
#when i tell you it took everything i had in me not to visibly or audibly react#and she didn’t react at all! so either she has a great poker face or didn’t notice or else also subscribes to the whole devil’s sacrament#mindset i.e. ‘well if they recognize it they have no room to judge’#which is of course correct! i’m not judging! i’m simply experiencing The Kinship That Must Never Be Acknowledged very acutely in a public#and professional environment!#this is also not really new information to me like i don’t know for sure if she’s on this website but i could For Sure have pegged her as#an ao3 girlie at least and i’m sure she knows the same about me#(throwback to the runner-up for the most devil’s sacrament moment award from last week when i (clearly online) mentioned that i don’t spend#much time on youtube but i find other ways to waste it and she was like ‘oh such as?’ and i cursed my big mouth and awkwardly went ‘well i#read a lot of fiction’ (true but NOT what we were talking about and we both knew it perfectly well) and then we both had to sit with that)#anyway! mini heart attack moment for sure seeing that symbol in that context but fun times overall :)#and this is why i will never ever open ao3 in a non-incognito tab lest my computer too decide to betray me. forever amen#[REDACTED] on the OFF CHANCE YOU END UP READING THIS and recognize yourself and thus learn my online identity. please don’t tell anyone#let’s keep the devil’s sacrament between us#caseyposting

Days 110 to 118 of coding everyday for a year and I've gotten so much done!
I finish both of my finals the C++ and the C#. The C++ final is an adventure game and it wasn't too challenging to make honestly I had fun with it. The C# project was also fun because I got to play with microcharts when creating the statistics page to display collected data! I plan to make the C++ game more fun honestly because I can't just let it die from here. I am going to make the Android and iOS build better on the C# project. I'm really proud of myself today :)
My next adventures will be brushing up on JavaScript since I'm severely out of practice and using what I know to make my portfolio website using Blazor!

SPG [+ Pluto] Tech Headcanons:
Pluto has a computer in their room. They use it mostly for work and to play management games
Hatchworth has a tablet. He uses it mostly for drawing but also has one or two guilty pleasure games (my only thought is that old frog collecting app, y'all know what I'm talking about?)
The Spine has his computer in the Hall of Wires, which is basically his second room. Now it's not all high-tech. I mean, it is cause they're Walter Robotics, but he doesn't have like a gaming setup or anything. He uses it to browse Wikipedia. He also has a CRT and a couple old consoles in his room in place of the computer being there
Rabbit has a laptop and a phone. Yes, she's the only one who has a smartphone. She's the one recording Spine for the band's tiktok, she mostly uses it for TikTok. She uses her laptop to go on Tumblr and it's one of those tablet convertible ones so she can also draw. It also has a ton of stickers on the back
#you could consider the twins both chronically online but see there's a difference#Spine is on Wikipedia learning everything there is to know about the world#and Rabbit actually keeps up with slang and fandom culture#Hatch is somehow the least online boy#i myself am chronically online but that doesn't need to seep fully into Pluto okay?#Rabbit has an actual phone in Malfunction and i just can't see the others having one too#if they can communicate over the wifi why would they need one?#the laptop Pluto uses in my last fic is a Walter Worker laptop#this is based on a discussion with gizm0 hiii#we agreed that rabbit has blocked ao3 on Spine's computer so he can't learn about it#but of course the rest of them still have semi active tumblrs. he's had to ask rabbit what a lot of words meant#oh my stars this is the best place to put this#i love those oc question tiktoks. i answer them as Pluto all the time#one of them was like “how would your oc get cancelled?”#and i think Pluto would accidentally leak secret intel about WR#and would get computer privileges revoked for a bit while they clean up the mess#steam powered giraffe#spg fanbot#hatchworth spg#the spine spg#rabbit spg#i think i have to make all of their rooms now...

Here is my review of Vegas:
Sphere: ✅ round. ❌ Didn’t go inside though because you have to pay $100
Omega Mart: ✅✅✅✅ awesome. ✅ Really really good. ✅ I love Meow Wolf so much it’s unreal ✅ it was a lot bigger than the other 3 I’ve been to. I didn’t even get to look at everything. ✅ did I mention how much I love Meow Wolf
Casinos: ❌ loud. ❌ too many screens and flashing lights. ❌ crowded. ❌ smell bad because smoking inside is allowed. ❌ I didn’t gamble anyways
Food: ✅ tasty. ✅ staff were very cool and accommodating about my allergies. ❌ But you have to walk through casinos to get to a lot of the restaurants
Pinball museum: ✅ actually way cooler than I thought it would be. ✅ they have loads of old pinball machines and arcade games and you can play most of them. ✅ I got to play DDR for the first time. ✅✅✅ they had a Computer Space machine and I freaked out when I saw it. It was out of order but still it was just so amazing to see in person
#for those who don't know#I’ve been learning about the history of games for my game design course.#and Computer Space was the very first arcade game and commercially available video game ever.#released in 1971#and it was basically a rip off of what is largely known as one of the first true video games#called Spacewar! which was made at MIT in 1962#So this guy named Nolan Bushnell visits MIT one day and plays the game#and is like Wow that’s cool. I wanna do that too#so along with this other guy Ted Dabney he makes Computer Space. 1500 machines of it get produced by the manufacturers Nutting Associates.#and Bushnell is sure that this is gonna be a huge hit. like the next big thing.#and the game is ass. it’s way worse than Spacewar! the controls suck and the sound effects are actually painful to listen to.#I’ve watched a gameplay video on YouTube. it’s agonizing#the game does sell ok though. but it’s definitely not a huge hit like he expected#But anyway. Bushnell does go on to start both Atari and Chuck E Cheese.#long ramble. I’m just a big nerd about some stuff and I get really excited#las vegas

important part of my relationship is that my girlfriend isn't subscribed to money stuff, so when we walk to work together i can just describe really good money stuff bits to them
#Real Big Computer Has Never Been Tried.#then in return they explain facts they learned from the odd lots episodes i found too boring to listen to#you can really understand our fundamentally different natures this way#my girlfriend likes things in proportion to how useful and helpful they are which is why they do vaccine design research#and read about cobalt exports and climate energy policy as their personal economics information hobby#i mostly like things in proportion to how conceptually satisfying and fun they are to think about#which is why im studying an application-free cell bio question that is essentially 'Wouldnt It Be Cool If This Worked'#and the finance-related things i read about r hilarious crypto exploits and the fact that everything is securities fraud.#now of course my girlfriend also possesses gr8 aesthetic sensibilities and i guess i managed to have useful practical outputs#when i was a union contract writer that one time#but these are our respective instinctual tendencies.#box opener#girlfriend tag

we're taking a break from my usual posting so i can show you the goofy images ive created as college assignments for illustrator. my teacher's mistake was letting me have free reign this is how we ended up here (funny enough they still got accepted)
#not art#college stuff#making that a tag in case i decide to post another goofy assignment because. come on its only my first year i got more in me🔥🔥🔥#like for this class in particular its very based on learning to use features in ilustrator which. should have been in our first semester#where we literally had to do a whole brand identity and images in it but this college is so good it has the basic illustrator course after#still very useful but point is our assignments in this one are based on creating something that uses the techniques we learn#such as “making a simple article page” or “make an image using masks” or “promote a product”#you may wonder what in the world is meant to be an article and an ad in these because i was given free reign#are you really going to place a good computer in front of me with really good programs and expect me not to go crazy for no reazln#my computer cant even open an old version of illustrator so the moment i get my hands on a college computer i go silly#but these were accepted regardless and graded normally and highly so. i am free to go crazy on these it seems#the random leafpool page is because ive been rereading warrior cats and i love leafpool so much shes my favorite character#so yes drotter lore of the day favorite warrior cats character is leafpool

Personal Plans on Udemy? | Resources ✨
I was thinking about Udemy because I haven't visited the site in months. When I logged back in, I noticed a new feature called "Personal Plan" on the homepage. As a web developer, I naturally clicked on the corresponding section and found something interesting~!!!
You can have access to all the listed courses and more for only £15 per month - however it is billed yearly (I hate when they do that...)! I thought, "Oh, that's great!" But, since I'm currently not employed and not earning any income, I don't think I'll enroll just yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to do it in the future!
There are other sections too like Data Science and Ethical Hacking, and even non-tech subjects too!
