This Tim is a second away from active self-harm. He's stuck in a universe where everyone deals with their issues through therapy and learning healthy coping mechanisms. He is SO LOST and EXASPERATED! An absolute delight for the sort of person (me) who likes watching people get forced to take care of themselves, but ALSO likes the somewhat gory depictions of what them NOT taking care of themselves looks like. As a summary of the thread, various users contrast Jason & Bruce, Tim & Bruce, Bruce & other batkids, and Tim & Elliot, specifically with physical affection. The consensus is that Jason and Bruce are tactile with each other, Tim and Bruce are touch adverse, and it would be hella fucked up if Elliot utilized Tim's touch starvation to manipulate Tim.

I'll get to Tim in a sec, but let me add angst for Jason & Bruce:

"Bruce and Jason are more-or-less automatically tactile with each other," which is why they get into far more physical fights than Bruce does with the others [this could also apply to Dick]. Note that this doesn't excuse the behavior.

Jason and Bruce communicate their care, their worry, and their affection through touch (a hug, a shoulder pat, a hair ruffle). Therefore, with how unhealthy they are about emotions and interpersonal communication, they state their grief, their anger, and their fear through touch (a shove, a punch, a slap).

Touch-starved, parentified, placeholder Tim not receiving physical affection from Bruce like the others, internalizing that this is due to Tim's temporary role or an intrinsic part of himself, and not knowing how to/if he can ask for physical affection. This kid would be fucked up :(

As the thread theorizes, this could be displayed in three concerning behaviors/reactions:

He negatively views physical affection from Bruce - it's a threat or only granted if shit has hit the fan

He may manipulate situations to 'earn' himself more touch

He is more vulnerable to being manipulated using a tactile technique

With all of this in mind, there can be some really lovely and extremely toxic AUs with Tim and his relationships with others (either an evil father figure or the Bats). It just gnaws on your brain, don't it?

Last son of Krypton meets hypertime Kon for WIP Wednesday?

“Only if it’s necessary,” Clark says. “Objectively necessary.” 

Bruce looks vaguely annoyed, but his definition of “necessary” is definitely not anyone else in the League’s, much less Clark’s own. But they didn’t run a telepath through any of his kids’ brains when they got taken in, or any of Diana’s protegees either, or just anyone who showed up in need of their help. It’s not any different just because Kon is Kryptonian. Not any different just because Kon is–just because of how he’s reacting to the kid. 

That’s not Kon’s fault, which Bruce damn well knows and Clark will fight him on if he has to.

More wet nurse omega verse, please! (This verse is just consuming my brain, and I'm constantly stuck on wondering what Carl/Kon is thinking.)

"My office is available, yes," Bruce says, debating giving her enough rope to hang herself and her bosses with or not. Travers has been very rigid and proper so far, so if she actually is willing to leave Carl unchaperoned, it's because she has permission to, or at least has "understood" permission to. And it isn't like leaving Carl with Alfred and the pups would actually compromise his safety or anything similar. 

Carl doesn't know that, though, so Bruce would really prefer not to do it. The kid seems confident and comfortable even in a stranger's territory, but that doesn't mean he isn't posturing in some way; doesn't mean he doesn't have any history of being taken advantage of either. Bruce doesn't want to settle him into the manor by potentially making him uncomfortable in it. Especially not potentially making him uncomfortable with Alfred, who's going to be sleeping a few doors over from him in the servants' quarters and likely be making most of what he'll be eating too. 

No, that really wouldn't be ideal.
