Ever since Mereoleona took over the Crimson Lions, Fuegoleon has been pushing himself to become stronger and prove that he's still the captain of the squad.

Mereoleona, though she found her brothers training pointless, was annoyed by it. He was wasting his energy on nothing. She could care less, but she knew the other captains would, at least some.

"Brother, I suggest you stop." Mereoleona said bluntly, crossing her arms. "Why, may I ask?" Fuegoleon turned to his elder sister. She looked unnecessarily annoyed, and it confused Fuegoleon.

"You are just wasting your strength." She scowled, Fuegoleon huffed, he wasn't going to ve orders around, she was more then likely jealous he was getting stronger.

"I'm fine." Fuegoleon said, turning away from his sister, the red-head grumbled at this. She suddenly got a large smirk as she crept behind Fuegoleon then tackled him.

"Hey!" Fuegoleon yelped. He glanced at his sister in annoyance. "What are you doing?" He asked, "If you won't stop, then I'll make you!" She smirked, scribbling her fingers on Fuegoleon's ribs. The fire mage yelped.

"Eheh- whahait, sihihister!" He squirmed. His sisters smirk only grew as he struggled beneath her. "Give up, will you?" She mocked, poking at his ribs as she "counted" each of them.

"Hahahah! Stahahahp it!" The red-head biy giggled. His sister only smirked more. "Give up?" He snickered at her, "Nehehver!".

Mereoleona got a glint in her eyes, Fuegoleon hesitated before he could speak Mereoleona hands shot up to his armpits.

"EEK! MEHEHEHERO! HAHAHH STAHAHAHP HEHEHEAHHA!" She grinned as he struggled, his face heating up to a soft red. She wiggled her fingers like crazy on Fuegoleon's pits, digging deep to worsen her brothers lesson.

"STAHAHHAP! I GHHIHIVE- HEHHAHH!" He laughed, flailing, Mereoleona knew he said he gave up, but him and her haven't been that close, being so different made it hard, but he's her little brother she can't miss this, just a little more.

"Oh?" She teased, "You give up?" She grinned. "HAHAHA JUHUHUST STAHAHAHP!" He screamed. Mereoleona found it funny how her brother was losing his composure. With a mocking grin, she finally stopped.

Fuegoleon panted, giggling to himself, "I'll get you for that.."

"Have fun trying." Mereoleona grinned.

“Fight me!”

At first- Mereoleona and Fuegoleon looked around, brows raised and eyes wide. Surely the declaration didn’t just come from Leopold- it had to be someone invading the manor.

But then he said it again, eyes glowing and fists clenched with sparks- grinning like a fool and the two realized; oh- it was in fact Leopold.

“Why the sudden challenge, little cub?” Fuegoleon asked, lips twitching into a smile as Mereoleona started to stand, eyes dancing. “Are you sure you don’t want to think about this more?”

“No way! I’m challenging you both!” Leopold puffed in pride, fists steaming with the beginnings of flames. “I’ve got a new spell I’ve been itching to try! It just might be stronger than you two put together!”

“HAHA! Yeah right, Leo! We’ll see about that.” Mereoleona cracked her knuckles, grinning like the evil witch of the west. “Let’s do this- right here, right now!”

“We really shouldn’t-” Fuegoleon began, but his siblings were already lunging at one another, grimoires beginning to glow. “The manor-”

“GAH! No! No fahahhaair!” Leopold squawked as he was lifted off the ground, tossed over Mereoleona’s shoulders like a sack of potatoes. “Put me dohoohohwn!”

“Come on, Leo- show me that cool spell that’s supposed to beat us!” Mereoleona jeered, spinning in circles to make him dizzy. “Don’t tell me you need your feet to do it!”

“AH Stahahap, I’m gonna get sihihick!” Leopold cackled as he hung on, one hand grasping the fabric of her shirt as the other punched at her back, his blows featherlike in comparison to her muscle. His legs kicked helplessly, nowhere near her or the ground it seemed. “Meehehheereo!”

“Giggly, aren’t we?” With a wink at her brother, she tossed Leopold into the nearest couch, watching him bounce harmlessly. “What’s so funny, Leo? Still confident you can win?” Faster than he could react, Mereoleona grabbed his ankle, pulling him flat against the couch cushions. “Come on- do your spell!”

“Whahait, wahahhait- hang ohohohoAHAHHahhahahhahahahhan!” The youngest redhead tried to argue but was immediately cut off in a fit of giggles, arching as he weakly pushed at her hands. “Nohohohoohoho, dohoohohohn’t tihihihiickle mehehehehehehe!”

“Still holding out on me? Come on- show us the spell!” Mereoleona pressed, both verbally and physically as her fingers danced along his ribs. “Surely it must be amazing!”

From his spot, Fuegoleon couldn’t fight down a smile at the sight, shaking his head amused as Leopold squealed and cackled beneath their sister’s tickle assault. A part of him felt bad- he remembered the days he was subjected to such a feat.

Of course- he always had Nozel to use as a shield. Good times.

“Stubborn brat- Fuego, get over here and help me!” Mereoleona called out, shaking him free from his reverie. Currently Leopold was putting up his own fight, seeking out tickle spots. What began as a one sided assault quickly turned into a halfhearted wrestling match, the pair surprisingly even. “Grab him!”

“You sure? I figured you got this.” Fuegoleon hummed even as he stood up, making his way over to the pair. “Is he proving too strong for you, Mereo?”

“Shut your mouth before I get you next!” She growled, the threat crystal clear. Leopold almost seemed stunned by this- momentarily freezing in seat in wonder.

“Wait- Fuego’s-”

“Right, grab him, yes?” Fuegoleon gathered a kicking ankle, dancing his fingers over Leopold’s foot and making the smaller boy scream. “Still so ticklish here.”

“FUEHEEHHHEGO DOOHOHOOH-YIEHEEHEHHEE NOOHOHOHOHOOH MEHEHEHEHREOOHOHO!” Leopold squealed for mercy as his sister dug into his belly, both of his worst spots being attacked at the same time. “PLEAHHAHAHAHSE STAHHAHAHAHAP!”

“Hmm…should we?” Mereoleona asked over her shoulder to Fuegoleon. What do you think?”

“Hm…Leo, do you still think you can beat us both right now?” He let his hand slide up to Leopold’s knee, giving it a few squeezes and earning a snort.

“NAHAHAHHAHAHAHA! AHAHHAHAHA YOHOOHOHU’D WIHIHIIHIHIN!”

“Are you sure?” Mereoleona pinched along the soft spots of his belly, earning a silent wheeze. “Absolutely sure?”

With no air left, he nodded rapidly, gasping when the tickles finally came to an end. Leopold curled up on himself, coughing weakly. “Ahehehe…hehehehe…heeh…” He groaned out softly. For a moment, Fuegoleon thought they went too far.

But then Leopold was back, jumping to his feet with a grin. “Leheht’s get Fuego!”

“Bet!” Mereoleona didn’t need to be told twice as they turned a vicious grin to the man.

“Ah- would you look at that- I have to go.” Fuegoleon was out the door before he finished his words- his siblings flying after him in a burst of flame.

“Ah, Master Fuegoleon- you have a visitor.” He barely heard the kind servant as ran, her message only just hitting when a wall of bluish silver came into view.

“Whoa-Fuego-” Nozel didn’t have a chance. Instinctively, Fuegoleon grabbed him-

And tossed him into Mereoleona.

“FUEGOLEON!” The cry of rage melted almost immediately into laughter as Mereo and Leo ascended upon their new target- swears of vengeance mixed within.

Old habits didn’t seem to die so easily.

And then William has like. This fucking crisis cause he realized that he's like. Very much okay with Lee being with other people so long as he's also with them. “I’m not ticklish.”

“Really?” Rill blinked, amazed. He had been in a playful mood this afternoon- waiting for Julius and Marx to arrive left him bored and restless. In an effort to entertain himself, he decided to see if any of his fellow captain’s were ticklish.

“Yes, really. Now- unhand me.” Nozel was like a stone, unmoved and unfazed by Rill’s sudden attack. If anything, he seemed irritated, but that was his normal. “Go bother someone else.”

“Since when?” Yami, who had already been ambushed with little to no reaction, grinned around his cigarette. “Last time I checked, you were pretty bad, birdy.”

“Shut your mouth, foreigner.”

“Make me, princess.”

“Enough of that.” Fuegoleon raised a hand before Nozel could raise his grimoire. “There’s no need to fight-” He paused then, brows furrowing. “What do you mean ‘last time you checked?’”

“I mean what I said. Last time I checked, eagle man here was pretty ticklish.” Yami got up from his seat, slowly making his way around the table towards them. “I can prove it too.”

“Do you wish to die this evening?” Nozel bristled, leaning away from the approaching man. “I’ll fill your blood with so much mercury-”

“Scary. Fuego, grab him.”

“Very well.”

“Traitor-” Nozel hissed when hands grabbed his shoulders. Yami was upon him in seconds, immediately going for the ribs. “Stop that this instant-”

“Wow, no way!” Rill was grinning, eyes shining as he watched Nozel’s calm composure begin to crumble, hands batting at Yami’s as he struggled to fight down the giggles. “Nozel really IS ticklish!”

“Come on, don’t fight it.” Yami adjusted his moves, one hand tapping along his highest rib while the other kneaded his waist, looking for a weak spot. “Don’t make me push past my limits, birdy.”

“I to-old you to st-op! I’m not t-ticklish!” Nozel grunted out, his voice cracking as he set his jaw. Behind him, Fuegoleon cleared his throat.

“Hips, Yami.”

“Ah.” Yami did just so.

“You son of a-AH! Aheahhhahhahahahaa!” Nozel couldn’t finish the sentence as loud, beautiful laughter spilled over his lips, his worst spot being squeezed with reckless abandon. “Yohoohoohu dahhahahamn ohooohohoohafs, geheheheheht the heheheheehell ohooohohohoff mehehehehheehe!”

“PFFT- holy crap! That’s amazing!” Jack busted out laughing, absolutely delighted at the sight. Charlotte was struggling to keep a smile off her face while Dorothy cheered them on, giggling just as much. William had his entire body turned away, shoulders shaking with soft snorts.

“Best captain meeting ever.” Rill sighed, already planning his next painting as he leaned into his hand.

OMG YOUR’RE RIGHT I was think Nozel would believe Fuegoleon’s apologies to be too dangerous and want to keep the little ones out of harm’s way, I TOTALLY FORGOT HOW CRAFTY THESE LITTLE GREMLINS + LITTLE ANGEL NOELLE ARE

They have to get creative after Fuegoleon belly flops directly into Solid's sleeping form because Nozel gets more strict

One night Nebra locks his door while it's still open, so when he closes it, it doesn't shut all the way. They just let themselves in

Another night Solid pretends he has a nightmare. He practiced. His crocodile tears are ON POINT. Nozel's resolve cracks 30 seconds into his fake crying. Nebra and Noelle sweep in

Another night Nebra and Solid feed Noelle sweets until she throws up. They convince Nozel that she's Dying and he brings her to bed with him to look after her. Nebra and Solid swoop in. (This was not a favorite plan of Solid's because he can't sleep in Nozel's arms since Noelle is there but this was the greatest night of Noelle's life. I mean she got to eat sweets until she threw up AND sleep in big brother's arms)

Another night the three tap into their Inner Brat and throw tantrums until Nozel agrees to read them stories in his bed No one expected this one to work but it does

Eventually, Nebra realizes that she can manipulate the situation further with very little effort. All she has to do is mention in passing to Fuegoleon that she thinks that Nozel is mad at him. Fuegoleon, Master Overthinker, will create and then fix a problem on his own from there. This has worked, without fail, every time. Nebra cannot believe that Fuego can simultaneously be so smart and so stupid.

Nozel eventually catches on to what they're doing and gets even stricter, but this becomes a Rock Lee's Weights situation. These little gremlins are so hungry for the drama (and the cuddles) that they keep outsmarting him. They have his whole room rigged. They're playing mind games with him AND Fuegoleon. They've lost all fear of being crushed to dust under the Vermillion's ferocious glomps if it means that they get to see him and Fuego brawl.

And then he has a plan.

So one night, it happens. Fuegoleon comes flying in. Throws himself on the bed. Launches Noelle straight across the room. She lands on the window couch, thank God. His voracious apology begins.

“NOZEL, I’VE REALIZED THAT I WAS IN THE WRONG WHEN I YELLED AT YOU IN PUBLIC THE OTHER DAY! WE SHOULD HAVE HANDLED OUR DIFFERENCES IN PRIVATE, NOT IN THE PUBLIC SPHERE! PLEASE FORGIVE ME!”

Nozel has literally no idea what he’s talking about. Nebra and Solid are at Full Attention. Noelle is leaning far forward on the window couch that there is a very real danger that she will fall off and smash her little baby face on the floor. Nozel is prepared for this. He swallows the building rage rising in his throat.

He wiggles out of his siblings’ holds, stands (on the bed) and faces Fuegoleon.

“I understand, Fuegoleon, and I accept your apology.”

Shock ripples through the room.

“Thank you for apologizing. It means a lot to me that you’d come all this way to clear this up. Why don’t we discuss this as I walk you back to your room?”

He takes his hand, leads him off the bed, and out of the room. Fuegoleon is too stunned to question what the hell is going on. The siblings are in stunned and unnerved. This has never happened before.

Nozel calmness is shitty sibling kryptonite.

They never orchestrate a Vermillion Apology again.

Gonna make William p much killing Fuegoleon even more dramatic in my fanfic with Lee because Furgoleon greatly respects Lee, and while he'd never homewreck, he notably treats Lee and talks/interacts with him in ways that are easily misinterpreted as flirting. Lee, while he doesn't mean to, also comes off as flirting back since he does like Fuegoleon but like. In a friend way.

And logically, William knows this. But he still feels a bit jealous about it and Patry is like- "dw about it I got it bestie ❤️" and does. THAT. And William doesn't really feel super bad about it until after the Elf arc and now he has to like. Face everything.

And the WORST part about it is that Fuegoleon is genuinely so nice that he gives William the benefit of the doubt about it, doesn't even CONSIDER that the attack on him wasn't JUST because he had a stone. So when William apologizes he just brushes it off and doesn't blame him which makes William feel WORSE cause now he has to EXPLAIN ALL OF WHY but he also debates on whether or not he SHOULD even explain that.

Of course, Nozel already can guess why William targets Fuegoleon and like. Does not ever let this go. Blames both William and Lee. Is openly hostle to Lee because he blames him, especially since Lee admits that he knew something was up and just never brought it up, even if that can be brushed aside as "legit marriage struggles that have no place in their job" (Nozel doesn't know just how much Lee knew. Only William knows and that did cause the two to like. Sleep in separate homes for a bit. Everyone assumed it was because Lee was mad about the invasion but it was William needing space.)

Lee does like. Get into an all-out fight with Nozel, but the animosity between them is so common that no one really bats an eye at it cept William.

Anyways. Fuegoleon STILL doesn't like. Wholly blame William even after hearing that it was Targeted. He like. Feels guilty, because he feels like a homewrecker for making William so jealous by his "flirting with his wife" that he straight up wanted to kill him over it. Makes things weird between Lee and Fuegoleon and Mereoleona somehow gets involved- it's so dramatic gfjdkdncjskxndn
