the argo ll was an interesting place. one minute, i was next to the son of poseidon who could summon tsunamis at his will, and the next, i was with a handyman who seemed like he was high on sugar and always had cheesy jokes ready.

and was it weird i preferred the second?

leo was undeniably my favorite on the argo ll. the ship felt empty without him, the dinner table felt tense when he wasn’t there, and the control deck seemed stupid when he wasn’t the one pressing the buttons. 

we talked a lot, early mornings on the deck, late nights fixing machinery, or even afternoons of just sitting in the control room. we talked about everything. i got to know leo, and know who he really is, when he’s not covering up his pain with humor all the time. 

what i loved the most about leo was his personality. the ship was full of serious people, annabeth, jason, frank. then it was full of people who didn’t want to make the serious people mad, hazel, percy, and piper. i love all of the people aboard, i just like one a little more.

we were all sitting in the common area, discussing things about the prophecy, monsters, and life as we know it. it was a few of the quiet moments we got on the ship, to just talk. leo was cracking his jokes at every possible minute, which was impressive, considering how he had a remark for just about anything and everything.

i sat on one of the couches, with hazel and frank to my right. on the other couch sat jason and piper, and on the bench were annabeth and percy. leo sat on the arm of a sitting chair. coach hedge was screaming over baseball. 

the conversation went on to annabeth, and how impressive her strategic thinking was, and how it was unfair that she got underestimated a lot.

“i just have to be more serious because i’m a blonde, and no one likes to take us seriously.” she explained.

i understood where she was coming from, for a smart woman like annabeth, being stereotyped as a dumb blonde consistently probably rubbed her the wrong way after a while.

“you and jason can team up and take over the camps, like the ‘rage of the blondes’ or something like that. at least one of you’d be taken seriously.” leo laughed, practically turning red as the joked left his mouth.

jason, hazel, frank, and i all chuckled before realizing that percy was staring leo down.

“i think they’d take annabeth more seriously, she’s ten times scarier than me.” jason joked, trying to diffuse the tension that had just taken place in the room.

“leo, i know you think your jokes are funny, but sometimes they’re really not.” percy said, anger clearly tainting his voice.

“I feel ya. my bad, annabeth, i was just messing around, i didn’t mean it like that.” leo said, nonchalantly.

annabeth simply nodded and went back to working on her laptop.

“can she get a proper apology?” percy continued.

“percy, man, it was just a joke.” leo defended, having already apologized in his own way.

“it’s sad leo, how you have to use your personality to make up for everything you don’t have.” he spat back. 

i turned to see leo’s eyes fill with hurt. that wasn’t fair of percy, that really wasn’t. leo and i had talked multiple times, and he had brought up how he felt inferior to the other guys. it wasn’t alright for percy to say that. 

“i’m sorry annabeth.” leo said calmly, before getting up, and leaving.

the room sat with silence for a moment. i got how leo’s joke came off the wrong way, but he apologized. what was percy’s need to go and villainize him even further. 

“what’s even more sad, percy, is how you have to exploit someone else’s insecurities just to appear chivalrous. grow up.” i said angrily, before getting up to follow leo.

i didn’t really care what string of curses he wanted to shoot at me afterwards. right now, i needed to make sure leo was alright.

i entered leo’s room after knocking, and found him in his bed, tears streaming down his face. 

“is it true what he said y/n? does everyone feel like i use my personality to make up for what i don’t have?” he asked.

i sat down next to him.

“he doesn’t mean that, percy was just being an asshole because he thought you hurt annabeth.” i comforted.

“but he’s right, isn’t he? him, jason, and frank, are all huge, scary, powerful, guys. they’re not making up for anything.” he continued.

“he isn’t right, leo. you aren’t any less of a person because your daddy doesn’t control the sky or the sea.” i said, putting my hand on his back.

“i killed my own mom. i am less. i am the seventh wheel. i am the useless one.” he said, draining out thoughts i knew had bothered him for far too long.

“you didn’t kill your mom, it was gaea. and you are not useless and you are not less than anyone else on here. we wouldn’t even be on here if it wasn’t for you! you’re obsessing over the things everyone else has done without realizing they wouldn’t have been able to do any of that without you. you might be a lot of things leo, crazy, funny, kind, but you are not useless, and you are not incompetent.” i explained, emotion flooding my voice.

i saw him wipe away his tears, and a smile appear on his face.

“but i’ll always be the seventh wheel.” he said. “everyone’s got someone, except for me. the only person i like on the ship probably doesn't even like me back. and i can't blame her. it’s leo and his machines or it’s leo and y/n-” he cut himself off abruptly.

he cleared his throat.

“forget that last part.” he said. 

“why? it is us, and i wouldn’t have it any other way.” i smiled.

leo smiled back, and we stared into each other’s eyes for a moment. then he leaned in, and i felt my lips make contact with his. i kissed him back, but he pulled out.

“i’m sorry, i shouldn’t have-” he started.

“yeah, you shouldn’t have pulled away so soon.” i smiled, pulling him by his shirt back in for another kiss.

Yui<3: Leo

Yui <3: Hey Leoooo? You haven't been answering ? Is everything alright?

Yui<3 : I'm coming over okay?

Yuichi lifted the manhole cover and descended into the sewers, he heard a bit of commotion coming from their living room or whatever was closest to that- When he pulled the fabric curtain back he was a bit surprised to see Leo and his brothers arguing, they didn't fight that often so there had to be a good reason for this right?

"Leo I'm serious- You can't just avoid it cause you don't like it, I should know-"

"I can and will! I don't need it!!"

"That's bullshit and you know it Nardo! Sooner or later you have to start acting like the leader and-"

"And what? Get my brothers arm torn off?" Raph cautiously stepped closer to Leo, "Woah- Leo hey, you don't mean that.." Leo scoffed and rolled his eyes, "Oh like you were any better? What exactly have you done to act so high and mighty over me? Hide yourself for years? Lie to your brothers?"

"Leo.. Don't."

"No really I wanna know? Why does he get to act like he knows so much better than us? You think you're the only one who remembers what happened? Think you're saving us by hiding it? Well for-fucking-give me for being upset that you're always lying to me!! All of you! Even Mikey! You do realize he smokes right? Has no one else seen him sneaking out in the middle of the night or carrying body spray with him everywhere like he's trying to cover up the smell of smoke? He's what? eighteen now, nineteen? And you all still treat him like he's fifteen!" They turned to Mikey for a short moment before looking back at Leo, they could tackle that problem later. "Leo.." Raph paused again seeing Yuichi in the doorway, "We.. We can talk about this later, after you get some rest-" He reached out to Leo aiming to put his hand on the sliders shoulder. but as soon as the word 'rest' was said Leo's eyes went wide in a panic, "NO!" He smacked Raph's hand away, Mikey sunk into his shell while Donne took a step in front of his little brother, Leo's marking were starting to glow, "I don't need sleep and I sure as hell don't need you to pity me!" Raph quickly retracted his hand, glancing back to Yuichi, who got the hint and stepped in. "Leo..?" There was a moment of silence, "Anata.. Genki desuka?" Leo turned slowly to look at Yuichi, his glow flickering when he heard Yuichi's soft voice. But when his eyes landed on his boyfriend all he could see was a mangled version of his body, eyes and mouth pouring black blood and red stained fur still matted with a mix of it and dirt. His eyes widened as he glowed brighter, "S-Stay back- ..You're not real- You're just.. My mind playing tricks on me- I-It's just a hallucination.. I just.. I just need another energy drink-"

"Leo, wait- Hold on okay? I-I won't try to make you sleep, I just.. I wanna talk…" Leo took a step back as Yuichi stepped closer, shaking his head a little, "No- no no no.. It's not real he's not really there it- It's just.. Just another nightmare…It's just a nightmare-" There was a spark around him, a faint blue light surrounding his body, Yuichi hesitated but stepped closer again, "It's alright.. Take a breath, you're okay…" Leo just shook his head, closing his eyes tightly, "No- no it- Its just fake it's all fake.. Don't listen to them- They're not real… They're not.." The light was getting brighter around Leo and he held his head in his good hand. Leos shell hit the wall as Yuichi closed in, his hand slowly reaching out for Leo. The light pulsed as Leo shut his eyes tighter, "N.. NO!" The light cracked and roars, extending outwards as he shouted. Yuichi quickly pulled his hand back feeling a stinging pain across it's surface, blood rose and bled into the fur of his trembling hand, he saw multiple thin cuts covering and spanning from his finger tips down to his wrist. Leo got half a glimpse at Yuichi before pushing past him and rushing out of the lair, "Leo- Leo wait!" He called, but he was already gone. He looked to the brothers, not having any clue as to what started this or why it had gotten that bad. "Leo's.. Been avoiding sleep…" Mikey said after the slider was out of the room, clinging to Donnie's arm as he spoke, eyes glued to the floor. Raph nodded, "Yeah.. Something about nightmares? I think that's what he said?" Mikey just nodded. Donnie let out a little sigh, "It's.. Possible that from stress the visions were getting worse, and sleeping was like a one way ticket to those visions except he unable to ground himself while sleeping.. So avoiding sleep might've sounded like a good option to avoid those kinda of visions, but, the body can't go without sleep for more than a few days. The out bursts.. The hallucinations… It makes much more sense now."

"Wait.. Nightmares?" They perked up a little hearing Yuichi, connecting dots to something. "Yes, he'd told all of us in passing that he was having trouble sleeping, why..?" Yuichi hesitated for a moment, trying to recall anything that might be important. "He had one, a-a bad one.. A few nights ago, it.. It was like four or five days ago? I think? He saw something pretty messed up and couldn't go back to sleep that night. I left the next morning for work and.. He'd been avoiding me more and more since, do you think that could have sparked it?"

"It had to- I can't think of anything else that happened recently to make him go off like that-" Yuichi nodded a little, pulling his phone out, "I'm gonna go after him, he didn't have his swords so he couldn't have gone far.. And when he's back we'll see what we can do to help.." He headed off after Leo, calling his phone hoping if he didn't pick up that he could at least hear the ringing and follow that. He heard it in the distance and followed the sound, really hoping that he would be okay. "Leo- Are you down here? It's alright, I-I know whatever you're seeing.. It must be scary and maybe it feels like it's too much, but you aren't alone. I'm not going to leave you, o-or let you deal with this by yourself!" He followed the faint ringing further into the sewers, texting the brothers to let them know it might be a bit before they came back, but that he wouldn't come back without Leo. Donnie texted back saying he was bringing Draxxum over to help make something for Leo, which as far as he knew from the small handful of times he'd met him, it sounded like he'd be in good hands. There was the faint sound of Leos phone ringing, the song was "Eat U Alive" by Marian Hill. The bass softly echoing down the dark winding sewer tunnels, the music fading faster the more he ran around looking for Leo. He cursed under his breath and started walking a bit faster, almost at a jogging pace now. "Leo? Leo hey-! Where'd you go?" He felt his heart start beating faster as he kept calling, he'd hear the ring for a brief moment before it would be declined. "Gods- Why are you being so stubborn- Just- ..Let me help you damnit-" Then suddenly his phone was the one ringing.. Not scary at all- He totally didn't flinch from his ringtone for Leo, "California Gurls" by Katy Perry going off out of nowhere- He juggled the phone for a moment before answering, "Leo?? Where-"

"Stop trying to find me. Stop- I can't I can't do this- You have to leave." Yuichi could feel his heart starting to sink, "What.. Does that mean?" He turned around hearing a little shuffle behind him then around again when the noise could be heard down the hall. "I can't look at you- I can't- I just.. Keep seeing his body, the blood, the moment he stopped breathing in my arms I just… I can't- You have to leave- You have to go far away, a-and never come back never ever-"

"Then- Then close your eyes, or I'll hide while you head back! You can go back to your place and I won't follow, just… Stay on the phone, I promise you don't have to see me till we get this all sorted out but-"

"You don't get it- I can't look at you anymore without seeing it.. Seeing him.. I can't get close to you when you look at me- I can't stop seeing it- I can't I just can't anymore I won't- We.. We can't work like this…"

"Leo- I.. I know what you're gonna say, and I won't let you say it, you just.. You haven't been sleeping, you're not in the right mindset. I know you're scared, and I know you don't want to have to see and hear those terrible things, I understand.. But you can't just avoid it forever, you can't keep running.. Please- Just.. Come home. Or.. Face me so I can at least hear you say it to my face. I won't leave till I hear it from you if you're serious about this… Please.." There was a long pause before Yuichi heard a shuffling behind him again, but Leo spoke before he could turn around. "Don't. Don't move.. Please- I can't see his face again.." Yuichi hesitated, but let out a little sigh and nodded after hearing how timid Leos voice was, putting his phone away he made a show of his hands being empty. "Okay. I won't move, promise." Leo stepped closer and wrapped his arms around Yuichi's waist, Leos head resting on his back, they stood there for a few moments, it almost felt like Leo was listening to Yuichi's breathing, or his heartbeat maybe? Yuichi felt something wet on his shirt, he glanced down trying not to move too much but his eyes widened in horror as he saw Leos arms covered in blood, it was barely lit in the sewer tunnels but it looked like he had scratched his arms open in several spots, bites and claw marks digging into already scarred skin.. Was it from anxiety? Some kind of vision where he thought he was fighting something? His mind was racing as he tried to answer the hundreds of questions filling his head that he just didn't have the answers to.

"I can't- I can't keep doing this.." Leo spoke quietly, pulling Yuichi from his thoughts. His voice was on the verge of breaking into nothing, tears threatening his eyes with each word. "I can't keep seeing you die in front of me, I can't-" Yuichi wanted to turn around and hug him so bad.. Leo sounded so tired, like he was about to cry as he hugged Yuichi a bit tighter. At this point he didn't even care about the blood staining his shirt, he just wanted to provide some sense of comfort for his boyfriend. "I.. It's okay Leo.. You'll be okay- I know it's scary, and I can't begin to image how hard it's been for you to deal with this.." He wasn't sure what else he could do, he knew he had to bring Leo back but if he made any sudden moves Leo might run off again.. Or worse he might panic and try to fight him.. "L-Leo..? Can I ask you for a favor?" There was another moment of silence, then he felt Leo nod against his back, better make this count- "Think you'd be able to give me a kiss..? J-Just one, can you close your eyes and give me one last kiss? And it'll all be over after that, I promise. I won't ask you for anything else." Another short pause, "..Just one? And then you'll leave?" Yuichi nodded, "You have my word Lo- Leo.." There was a moment where it felt like Leo was hesitating, then his hand came around Yuichi's head blocking out his eyes, probably so there was no way their eyes would meet, gently pulling his head back as Leo leaned in and kissed him. Yuichi turned into the kiss, regret setting in, he didn't want to hurt Leo.. He really didn't hurt him, in any way. But he couldn't just sit there and watch him continue hurting like this.. He turned more, winding his hand up and forcing his hand into a fist hitting Leo's neck, right under the jaw, sending him flying down the sewer tunnel, it was the quickest way to get him knocked out- He hated the feeling of their lips being forced apart and the confused and scared expression Leo made.. The pit in his stomach sank more as he picked the slider up in his arms, "Sorry.. But this really was the best way to fix this-" He muttered as he started down the hall, trying to find his way back to the hideout.

Leo shifted just a moment after being picked up, his eyes wide as he let out a low growling sound from the back of his throat, it had only been half a second this all happened before Leo attacked Yuichi, biting hard on the space between his shoulder and his neck. Teeth piercing his skin like he was fighting for his life- Yuichi cried out but he refused to let go of Leo, he instead rammed himself into the wall giving Leo another jarring blow, this time it was finally enough force to render him unconscious and his hold on Yuichi was gone. "Fuck.. Jesus Leo- I guess I earned that though…" He steadied himself before continuing to walk back, it felt like forever, all the weight in his hands and his own blood loss starting to get to him, till he finally saw a light. The lair- It had to be. He sped up pushing past the curtain wall to see Mikey and Raph nervously talking amongst themselves, Mikey saw the movement and shot up, "Leo-! Usagi-!!" He called as Yuichi fell to his knees, carful not to drop Leo on his way down, "He- He's just unconscious.. Sorry- Took uh.. Longer than I thought it would.. H-He's really somethin' …H-He'll be okay right.. Right?"

"What the hell happened?? Why are you bleeding?? Why is Leos's covered in- Wait… H-He didn't..? Did he..?"

"D-Don't worry… He didn't snap at me.. I tried to knock him out- It didn't- The first time he.. His arms Sorry I.. I uh" Raph took Leo from his arms and gave Mikey a nod as he rushed him to the medbay to get him strapped down and let Donnie and Drax have a look at him. Mikey pulled Yuichi up with the rabbits arm over his head around his neck opposite the side of his wound for support, "It's okay, it's all gonna be okay… Thank you for bringing him home Usagi- Don't worry, he's home now, and you're here with him, and you'll be okay too.." Usagi couldn't tell if Mikey was saying those things to cheer him up to maybe to calm himself down? The rest was a blur, he must have passed out before they could get all the way to the medbay.

He did. And Mikey carried him the rest of the way. Yuichi shot up in his bed with a panic, he was just carrying Leo a moment ago. What even happened before he blacked out? The room was dark, and colder than usual, everything ached but he couldn't quite place why.. Then he noticed the soft light of a lamp across the room just barely lighting up another bed. Leo was laying there reading some old Jupiter Jim comic, he looked.. Better? The bags under his eyes weren't as dark and his arms had been wrapped in bandages, he threw the thin blanket off himself as he leapt out of the bed, "Leo-!" He called out, seeing him perk up almost like a flinch but he didn't tell Yuichi not to get closer. So he went as fast as his legs would let him, but he was stopped half way by both Donatello and Michelangelo. "Woah there-"

"Wait Usagi hold on-"

"Leo- I-Is he okay? What happened? Did-"

"Dude he'll be fine- You need to lay back down before you rip your stiches-"

"But-" There was a moment where Yuichi stopped struggling to get out of their arms, he glanced between the two, clearly not even worried about himself. Mikey turned to face Leo, "Can we put your beds together?" Yuichi looked almost hurt they even asked, in fact why hadn't their beds been put together at the start? It made the most sense after all, right? He looked at Leo and watched his expression, at least he could face Yuichi's eyes without turning away or freaking out now.. "I-If Yui wants to.. I'm okay with it." Yuichi felt the grip on his arms loosen to let him walk over himself, he was so confused why Leo was acting this way.. Like he was scared of him? He slowly walked over, carefully setting his hands on rail of the bed while the brothers moved a bed to the other side for him. "Hey Stripes.. How you holdin' up?" Leo smiled a little at the nickname but it quickly faded and he turned his gaze away. "I'm… Better, thanks to you.." Yuichi nodded and stood there for a moment, trying to give Leo time to say something if there was anything on his mind, but the slider seemed to be just on edge if not more so than he was. "Leo..?" He asked, a little softer. He leaned down kissed Leos head, "You get any sleep?" Leo bit his lip, his eyes glossed over like he was about to cry. He nodded at Yuichi, "Y-Yeah… Dee says I slept for a whole day."

"Twenty nine hours to be exact, with two bathroom breaks and one meal break."

Yuichi chuckled a little and gave a little nod to Donnie to thank him, "Oh- Well hold on, twenty? No no, I just- We were just- ..How long was I out then?" Donnie shrugged then checked his watch, "In two minutes it will be twenty six hours. You were also on some fairly strong pain medication, provided by yours truly, so its likely those hours you were awake will be a blur if not completely gone. Fear not though we have alerted your guardian that you were going to be here for the next day or two to look after Leo who had been.. Injured." Mikey went over to Yuichi's side and gently put his hand on the rabbits back nudging him towards the now set bed, "C'mon, I know the pain meds make you feel like you're good to go but you still lost a lot of blood so you shouldn't be up just yet." Leo looked back down and the comic in his hands, in all the time they'd been talking he hadn't turned the page once.. It looked like he was pretending to read to avoid looking at them… Yuichi climbed into the bed with Mikey's help and scooted over a bit to be closer to Leo, who tensed up at the movement. Donnie and Mikey figured they'd leave for a bit now that they were both awake and apparently needed to talk about some stuff.

Yuichi frowned a little more, "I- Leo if this is about what you said.. I-In the tunnel- You weren't serious right? Or- I-Is this about what I did? I-I'm sorry I didn't.. I didn't have a choice I didn't know what else to do I mean you were.. I was-" He felt his heartrate double with anxiety, Leo had nearly tried to break up with Yuichi that night, was.. Was he serious? Did he still mean what he said? Leo tilted his head a little, "Wha- No I-I don't uh, I don't actually remember… Anything from the past few days.. Sorry uh- What.. What did I tell you? Was it.. Something bad?" Fuck now he looked just as anxious as Yuichi.. "Then- Why are you acting so weird?" He ran a hand past his ears through his fur as he tried to understand, "If you don't remember, why.. Are you acting like… Like you're scared of me.. Like you don't want to be close anymore? Did I- Did I do something? Did I-"

"Yuichi look at you! I bit you! I fucking- I hurt you.. You should be scared of me! You shouldn't want to be near me, o-or in a bed next to me- You shouldn't be so.. So nice to me… I'm dangerous!"

"This-?" He moved his hand gently feeling the part of his shoulder right above the collar bone that had been buzzed down and stitched up, "Well to be fair I tried to knock you out- So you were just defending yourself in your own sleep deprived way- That's my fault-"

"No it's not! Yuichi- I wasn't in the right mind sure but I- I-If something like that ever happened again? If I'd bit and deeper I could have fucked up your nerves and you would've lost the ability to move that arm at all! I could have paralyzed you- That's not normal!!" Yuichi paused for a moment then started to laugh, Leo looked confused for a moment, wondering if Yuichi had finally lost it or something- "That'd be ironic.." He said as his laugher died out. "I mean, you lost your right arm, so if I lost my left we'd kinda complete each other huh?" Leo's frustration started to fade as he looked at Yuichi with more of an "over-it" expression. "Oh but we'd still be able to hold hands with our real ones, that'd be kind of poetic too huh.. Not to mention you lost an arm trying to get something that would let you be with me more.. And I could've lost mine trying to be with you more… Seems pretty ironic to me-" Leo let out a dry chuckle, "That's so dumb-" Yuichi scooted closer again and resting his head on Leos shoulder, "Yeah but, it'd be funny that we'd have another thing in common. Though if you wanted my hand that badly, you could've just asked~" Leo chuckled a bit harder and rolled his eyes, "Oh boo, that joke was terrible… one out of four arms-"

"Three."

"Hey I count my prosthetic thank-you-very-much."

The both laughed a little as they snuggled closer together. "So.. You're really not scared of me..?" Leo asked after a moment, Yuichi nodded, "Of course not. I told you, I love you, all of you. Sometimes Leo doubts himself as much as to think that he should quit being a knight, especially when he hears people comparing him to his siblings behind his back. He tries to stay upbeat and positive about it, and tries to remind himself that aneue and aniue are a lot older than he is, meaning that they have more training under their belt than he does. But it does very little to the feeling.

He doesn't want to speak out that doubt, because he thinks it to be very un-like Vermillion. But sometimes doubt does creep in.

Something bad happened that resulted in Leo leaving his family. Some time passes and his three brothers are sent to look for someone they need to help them with a serious problem, not knowing until they come face-to-face that the person they were sent to find was their brother Leo (now named Aoi).

They're not happy to see him and Leo is nervous to see them, but invites them back to his place. They all board a wagon being pulled by Leo's wolf friend (named Unknown) and along the way home Leo sings a song.

Generell Leo als großer Bruder von 3 kleinen Schwestern gefällt mir sehr.

Leo Hölzer: Teamleiter, Großer Bruder, Kümmerer und Beschützer 

Ich habe hier letztens einen Post gesehen (den ich auf die Schnelle gerade nicht wiederfinde), in dem bestätigt wurde, dass Leo der Bruder von drei kleinen Schwestern ist. Das hat mich irgendwie nicht mehr losgelassen und dazu gebracht, einige Handlungen und Verhaltensweisen unter dem Aspekt neu zu betrachten und Leo noch mal mit anderen Augen zu sehen.  Dabei rausgekommen ist etwas, das in Richtung einer Charakteranalyse geht und viel zu lang geworden ist, aber vielleicht findet das ja jemand genau so spannend und interessant wie ich.

Was wir vorher schon wussten und in diesem Tatort noch mehr hervorgehoben wurde: Leo ist ein absoluter Kümmerer. Er merkt, wenn es jemandem nicht gut geht und möchte gerne helfen. Das haben wir gesehen, als er sich um Pia Sorgen macht und sie bittet, etwas zu essen und sich hinterher sogar noch bei Esther nach ihr erkundigt, weil er merkt, dass etwas faul ist. Das haben wir gesehen, als Esther ihm sagt, dass sie bald durchdreht und Leo sie tröstend in den Arm nimmt, obwohl sie ihm vorher an den Kopf gedonnert hat, dass sie ihn hasst. Und bei Adam haben wir das sowieso schon so oft gesehen, in diesem Film, als Adam sich im Imbiss fesseln musste und Leos erste Frage ist, ob es ihm gut geht und er ihm danach direkt versichert, dass es nicht seine Schuld ist. Und ich glaube durchaus, dass das einfach eine Kernqualität von ihm ist. Aber vielleicht rührt das außerdem noch aus den Umständen, unter denen er aufgewachsen ist?

Leo hat nicht nur eine, nicht zwei, sondern drei(!!!) kleine(!!!) Schwestern. Wir wissen noch nichts über Leos Eltern, aber sie sind dann wohl eine Familie mit vier Kindern. Kinder sind teuer und es muss zwar nicht so sein, aber es kann durchaus sein, dass sie nicht viel Geld hatten und Leos Eltern viel arbeiten mussten und dadurch vielleicht auch weniger Zeit für ihre einzelnen Kinder hatten. Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass Leo da sehr früh erwachsen werden musste. Dass er, als großer Bruder, der Älteste, sehr früh angefangen hat, sich um seine Schwestern zu kümmern. Auf sie aufzupassen, sie zu beschützen. Dass er gelernt hat, Verantwortung zu übernehmen, immer der Vernünftige sein musste. Dass er schon da angefangen hat, immer für andere da zu sein.  In der Szene mit Moritz Leimers jüngeren Geschwistern verrät seine kleine Schwester, dass Moritz versprochen hat, wiederzukommen. Leo entgegnet daraufhin sehr versichernd „Ganz bestimmt.“ Aus der Perspektive betrachtet, dass Leo selber drei kleine Schwestern hat, um die er sich eventuell auch sehr kümmern musste, kann sich Leo vielleicht gut in Moritz einfühlen. Moritz, dessen Eltern weg sind, der sehr jung und ganz alleine für zwei Kinder verantwortlich ist. Und möglicherweise kommt dieses „ganz bestimmt“ aus Leos eigener Erfahrung, weil er selber auch immer zu seinen Schwestern zurückgekommen wäre. Zu Leos Eltern, dem Familiengefüge und seiner Kindheit wissen wir aktuell nur sehr wenig, fast gar nichts. Der Spatort nutzt aber nicht zum ersten Mal Parallelen zwischen den Hintergrundgeschichten der Kommissar*innen und den Charakteren des jeweiligen Falls als Stilmittel. Außerdem ist Moritz Leimer, der erst wie ein Nebencharakter schien, sogar ein wiederkehrender Charakter und da finde ich den Gedanken gar nicht so abwegig, dass es vielleicht, ganz eventuell, möglicherweise eine Spiegelung oder Parallele zu Leo gibt?

Naja, weiter im Text. Zwischen Geschwistern kommt es auch öfter mal zu Konflikten, Streitereien und für mich würde das sehr in sein Bild passen, dass er oft die vermittelnde Rolle eingenommen hat. Wie auch später in seinem Team mit Pia, Esther und Adam. Dort ist Leo ständig am Justieren von Konflikten, für Esther ist er zu locker, für Adam zu strikt, er kann es niemandem so richtig recht machen, am allerwenigsten wahrscheinlich sich selbst, aber er versucht es ganz verzweifelt. Ich hab es jetzt schon öfter gelesen und nehme es selber so wahr, dass er wie der Kleber im Team fungiert und alles und alle irgendwie versucht zusammenzuhalten. Und damit ist er zwar ihr Teamleiter, vielleicht fällt er dort aber gleichzeitig ein bisschen in seine Rolle als großer Bruder. Womöglich ist Leo es dadurch auch gewohnt, öfter mal der Buhmann für irgendjemanden zu sein. 

Mit drei Geschwistern ist es bestimmt auch oft laut gewesen, besonders, wenn sie wirklich nicht viel Geld hatten und vielleicht in einer eher kleinen Wohnung gelebt haben. Ich stelle es mir schwer vor, da einen Rückzugsort zu finden und er hatte ja vermutlich keine Freunde, zu denen er hätte gehen können. Da passt es einfach so wunderbar, dass er dieses Baumhaus - einen Raum ganz für sich alleine, ruhig und im Wald - hatte. Denn ich empfinde Leo als einen ruheliebenden Charakter, der dort vielleicht ebenfalls eine Auszeit von der Rolle des großen Bruders gefunden hat. Einen Ort, den er irgendwann mit Adam teilt. Einen Ort, von dem aus Leo aber irgendwann mitbekommt, wie Adam von seinem Vater gequält wird.  Leo, der sich Jahre später noch schuldig fühlt, dass er jahrelang zugeschaut hat, wie Adam misshandelt wird. Leo, der vielleicht von klein auf gelernt hat, für die Menschen, die er liebt, Verantwortung zu übernehmen, sie zu beschützen. Leo, der es nicht mehr aushält, dass sich niemand für Adam verantwortlich fühlt und niemand etwas tut und der es selber nicht mehr aushält, nichts zu tun… Der Adams Vater mit dem Spaten ins Koma schlägt und sich die Verantwortung und Schuld für diese Tat auf seine Schultern lädt. Und der sich selber immer wieder mit dieser Verantwortung und Schuld konfrontiert, indem er Roland im Krankenhaus besucht.

Leo ist außerdem sehr sensibel. Er bezeichnet sich in „Das fleißige Lieschen“ selber etwas zynisch als „Knicker“ und „Weicher“ in dem Gespräch mit Weißer und ich kann mir generell vorstellen, dass, auch wenn das auf Stereotypen basiert (aber diese Stereotypen existieren nun mal in unserer Gesellschaft), die Kindheit mit seinen Schwestern ihn auch dahingehend geprägt hat.  Dass er mehr gelernt hat, einen Zugang zu seinen Gefühlen zu haben, sie zuzulassen und zu zeigen, wie zum Beispiel das offene Geständnis, das er an Adam macht: „Ich würde mit dir bis ans Ende der Welt gehen“, eben weil er von so vielen Frauen umgeben war und vielleicht nie auf eine toxische, „männliche“ Art und Weise stark sein musste. Anders als Adam das von seinem Vater lernen sollte. Leo musste dafür aber vielleicht auf eine andere toxische Art und Weise stark sein. Wen hatte er denn zum Reden, bis er sich mit Adam angefreundet hat? Und wen hatte er, als und nachdem Adam gegangen ist? Als großer Bruder wird er sich wahrscheinlich nicht seinen kleinen Schwestern anvertraut haben und gerade bei der Sache nach dem Spaten hatte er ja ziemlich sicher vor rechtlichen Konsequenzen Angst. Er hat also die Sache mit Adam (und vielleicht auch noch andere Sachen? Das Mobbing?) in sich reingefressen, was in dem Gespräch mit Caro raus klingt. Sie bittet ihn, darüber zu reden, was damals los war und Leo leugnet sogar erst, dass überhaupt etwas los gewesen sein soll. Dabei kann Leo Dinge nicht so gut wegdrücken (wie Adam). Darüber reden konnte er aber anscheinend auch nie und hat somit ebenfalls nie so richtig gelernt, seine Gefühle vernünftig zu kommunizieren. Das wirkt sich auch in seiner Kommunikation mit Adam negativ aus. Er versucht es immer wieder, scheitert aber oft daran, dass er am Ende doch zu viel hinnimmt und lieber nichts sagt oder sich abfindet, selbst wenn es ihm gegen den Strich geht. 

Und vielleicht ist auch der Grund, warum er in Saarbrücken geblieben ist, der, dass er dort gebraucht wurde. Von seinen Eltern, von seinen Schwestern. Als großer Bruder. Vielleicht hatte er nie die Möglichkeit, einfach so abzuhauen, wie Adam es getan hat. Und das ist eine reine Mutmaßung von mir, die auf nichts Weiterem als meinen ausschweifenden Gedanken basiert, aber vielleicht wusste Adam genau das auch? Dass Leo niemals aus Saarbrücken weggekonnt hätte, Adam selber aber ganz dringend da weg musste. Vielleicht hätte er es dann nicht geschafft zu gehen, wenn er Leo davon erzählt hätte oder (was ich fast noch typischer für Adam und fast schon realistisch fände) er wusste, in was für einen Konflikt Leo das stürzen würde, wenn er ihm sagt, dass er geht und hat für sich beschlossen, dass es besser ist, wenn er ihm das erspart. Leo versucht schließlich immer für andere da zu sein. Ich denke, deswegen tut es ihm später dann unter anderem auch so weh, wie Adam ihn wieder ausschließt und ihm Dinge verheimlicht, eben weil er so gerne für ihn da wäre. 

Leo hat spätestens bei dem Spatenschlag angefangen, sich für Adam verantwortlich zu fühlen und verantwortlich zu machen (ich will gar nicht wissen, ob er sich ebenfalls für seinen Weggang verantwortlich gemacht hat) und auch in ihrer späteren Dynamik fühlt Leo sich noch immer für Adam verantwortlich, besonders wenn Adam Scheiße baut. Er sagt es ja selber in „Das Ende der Nacht“ zu Adam mit „Aber ich hab dich nicht abgehalten“. Und klar, er ist der Teamleiter, dadurch empfindet Leo sicherlich eine gewisse Verpflichtung der Position gegenüber. Aber Adam ist ein erwachsener Mensch und Kriminalhauptkommissar, der eigenverantwortlich handelt und in dem Rahmen hat Leo nicht die Verantwortung, sondern er macht sich verantwortlich. Daniel und Vladimir haben ja schon öfter erwähnt, dass Adam und Leo so was wie Brüder wären und auch wenn die Beziehung zueinander von vielen Zuschauenden anders empfunden wurde und wird (und die Produzent*innen das mittlerweile vielleicht mit einbezogen haben?), frage ich mich, ob Adam ursprünglich eventuell vom Verhältnis zu Leo so angelegt war als der „Bruder“, der immer scheiße baut und für den Leo immer wieder in die Bresche springt.  Und er springt auch wieder in die Bresche, als Esther ihn fragt, ob Adam alleine oder Adam und Leo zusammen entschieden haben, Moritz Leimer laufen zu lassen. Seine Antwort ist: Wir. Er hat damals deutlich gemacht, was er von Adams Entscheidung hält und als Pia ihn in „Die Kälte der Erde“ gefragt hat, wer von ihnen das entschieden hat, kam das „wir“ noch mit Anführungszeichen. Aber wenn es drauf ankommt, dann steht Leo zu Adam und trägt seine Entscheidung mit, selbst wenn er sie nicht gutheißt und anfangs gar nicht mittragen wollte. Nimmt auch dafür die Verantwortung mit auf sich.  Er fängt aber ebenfalls an, sich generell für Dinge verantwortlich zu fühlen, die gar nicht in seiner alleinigen Verantwortung, geschweige denn in seiner Kontrolle liegen, wie Luisas Tod in „Der Fluch des Geldes“. Vielleicht, weil er das von klein auf so gelernt hat, vielleicht auch, weil es ihm ein Gefühl von Kontrolle simuliert, dass er mit seinem Handeln Dinge beeinflussen kann. Und ich frage mich, ob er sich genau so dafür verantwortlich dafür fühlt, dass Pia und Adam ihm nicht vertrauen, ob er dafür auch die Schuld in sich sucht.  Im gesamten letzten Film versucht Leo so sehr für alle da zu sein, versucht so sehr, sich zu kümmern, aber sie lassen ihn nicht. Trotzdem lügt Pia ihn an und Adam hält sich nicht an seine Anweisungen und es nagt an ihm. Er gibt und gibt und am Ende wirft er sich schützend vor Pia, weil Leo nun mal Leo ist und das für ihn so unglaublich charakteristisch ist. Weil Leo prinzipiell nach dem Motto „lieber ich als andere“ zu handeln scheint. Egal was die Konsequenzen sind, die er dafür zu tragen hat. Die Frage nach dem ob stellt sich ihm gar nicht. Jemand, den er ins Herz geschlossen hat, ist in Gefahr, also muss er etwas tun. Wie auch bei dem Spaten. Er ist Teamleiter, großer Bruder, verantwortlich. Und mir bricht mein verdammtes Herz für Leo Hölzer, der vielleicht ein noch viel tragischerer Charakter zu sein scheint, als ich zu Anfang eh schon angenommen habe.

Vielen Dank an alle, die bis hierhin gelesen haben oder falls überhaupt irgendwer bis hierhin gelesen hat. Ich erheb’ hier natürlich keinen Anspruch auf irgendeine Korrektheit, vielleicht habe ich auch Sachen überinterpretiert, über die sich gar nicht so viele Gedanken gemacht wurden. Das sind einfach nur Dinge, die mir so durch den Kopf gegangen sind und Verhaltensweisen, die für mich unter dem Aspekt auf einmal noch mehr Sinn ergeben und Leo als Charakter noch schlüssiger gemacht haben. Vielleicht hat/hatte dazu ja jemand noch ganz andere oder weiterführende Gedanken und mag sie teilen.
