Hi Devon, anon from awhile ago who was taking the escitalopram but wanting to come off it.
I did taper off. Albeit far too quickly and without doctor input, which is generally how I roll once I’ve made a decision.
Felt ok for the first few days then full withdrawals hit me. Spent a week feeling disassociated, exhausted, very fragile and getting “zap” sensations in my body and mind. Especially with any kind of sensory input, my body interpreted it as a kind of threat. A hair across my face, breeze, anyone talking to me…
It’s been pretty miserable. My daughter who I mentioned who was also put on it told me when she tried to come off it felt that way for months (and she’s not even autistic) and in the end went back on it because she couldn’t cope.
But I’m determined to get off them.
I haven’t gotten the Sam e as you recommended yet, firstly because they’ve told me taking both while the escitalopram is still in my system is a bad idea, and also because I want to kind of feel what it’s like to be on nothing for awhile.
But anyway last night something awesome happened. I was watching Bluey with my nephew (highly recommended haha) and something really sweet happened in the episode. I felt myself get teary, then immediately started crying because I got teary.
It’s been such a long time since I’ve had any real emotions. And a big part of wanting to come off the meds was that I missed the Intense Good feelings and reactions that I had. Life was entirely dull and neutral.
This morning a story about a couple adopting a baby came on tv and I cried again. It was awesome.
I feel like shit, I’m not sleeping and I’m still super disassociated and in sensory overwhelm.
But it’s worth it.
I read a Substack piece around SSRIs which said “the period in which one starts or stops an SSRI is extremely dangerous. Your brain chemistry is adapting. And your suicide risk actually increases, not least because you have taken steps and expect to be cured but aren’t. This proves especially challenging in volatile adolescent brains, but is an issue for us all.”
That’s not ever talked about and certainly not cautioned by my doctor or pharmacist.
I guess my whole point here is a word of caution around going on them on the first place, especially for Autistic people who might be more sensitive to the effects. I know there’s a place for them. But I wish I hadn’t started them and I wish my daughter hadn’t been put on them at 16.
Life is meant to be a mix of emotions and killing all emotions is just too much of a sacrifice to make. Definitely a lesson learned for me.
Thank you so much for sharing this!

Wind Breaker Episode 16 Review - Farewell, Keel
This episode is mainly a closure to the Keel arc, but with some foreshadowing looming due to the post-credit scene. That guy’s name is Frank, by the way (it’s not). Anyways, it’s really nice to see Anzai and Nagato reunited and Sakura trying to understand himself most of all.
Tumblr media
It was sad to see how Nagato joined Keel. Keel is basically like a violent cult with Natori being the cult leader. Like most cults, people are forced to join via recruitment and leaving is especially hard to do so. Natori is evil but Kaga is also just as bad as he’s super violent. Glad Kiryu beat him up. They also target the naive and ignorant because it’s easier to prey on them. Now that Furin defeated Keel, will they finally disband? My heart felt warm when I saw Nagato and Anzai hugging and then seeing them reunite with Tsuchiya.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do like how similar the ending of the Keel arc is to the Shishitoren arc in that they eat food with Umemiya and learn life lessons along the way. Sakura was mulling over not being strong and capable enough, but both Nirei and Umemiya reassured him that he’s doing the best he can and that the reason why he’s mulling over this in the first place is because he’s growing attached to his class, which he vehemently denies like the tsundere that he is. The whole Keel arc is a learning experience for Sakura. I do like that no one blamed Sakura for their injuries and that they only blamed themselves for getting hurt; notice that Suo is the only one in Class 1-1 who is unscathed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This time, Professor Umemiya tells Nagato that he should appreciate the things the people did for him. Sure, he may have done bad things as a member of Keel, but what’s done is done and that since someone was there to help him, he should continue moving forward. I do like that he equates gratefulness to the taste of food. Not everyone can get a good meal and when they do, they should appreciate the taste.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although there is no action, this episode is really pretty in terms of background. I mean, look at that sunset sky, especially during the scene where Sakura is blaming himself for what happened. The color is like Sakura’s left eye. While he only has one amber-colored eye, the amber-colored sky is vast and envelopes the whole class, showing off that he’s not alone. Well, that may not be the symbolism, but I like to think it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And to the anime-only watchers, there is a post-credit scene with Mr. Mystery Man Frank (Yes, I know his name is not Frank, but I don’t want to spoil). In the manga, his scene actually comes after Kaji ponders about how Keel had so many members despite being a gang he’s never heard of until now. He’s going to be an important character later on, so keep an eye out for him. And for the manga-readers, Japanese Twitter is debating on whether he is voiced by Makoto Furukawa or Daisuke Ono, but I’m seeing more lean towards the latter than the former. I think he’s voiced by OnoD too! It’s crazy how he’s credited as “Mystery man” and his VA being ????. This is just like how Kaji’s VA was credited before his actual VA reveal. Clover Works is so cruel!
Tumblr media
Speaking of voice actors, Nagato is voiced by Anan Furuya, who’s a rookie. I’ve heard him in Delusional Monthly Magazine as Perch. I think he does a great job voicing Nagato. Hopefully, he’ll get good roles in the future! Tsuchiya’s voice actress is finally revealed as she wasn’t credited in the finale of Season 1. She’s voiced by Asaki Yuikawa, who voices Tokiyuki in The Elusive Samurai (also a Clover Works production).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also liked scene where Suo flicks Nirei’s forehead and tells him to not be so reckless. Suo may be a hard guy to read at times due to his constantly smiling personality, but he is caring deep down, even if he doesn’t want to show it—in a way, he’s like Sakura but not tsundere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s already three episodes but I can’t wait for more! If you liked the Keel arc, the next upcoming major arc is also going to be great! Ah, it’s Thursday, but why can’t next Thursday come already? What do you think about this episode?

Thoughts on DRDT chapter 2 episode 13 (spoilers)
Now we have everyone's secrets, and they all are useless to solving the particular case.
With Xander's secret I'm guessing he's a traitor, which would explain why David asked if you would sacrifice 16 people for 1 person. Xander probably attacked Teruko because the mastermind told him to, the mastermind might've threatened one of Xander's family members or friends. That being said, why would the mastermind target Teruko? All I could think is maybe Teruko's talent is to unpredictable? Or Teruko's was involved in Mai's death in some way, since due to Mai being referred to in past tense it could imply that she's dead. Teruko could've accidentally had Mai die just due to her talent, that's probably also what happened to Teruko's family. Basically, kinda like Nagito's backstory!
I have no clue why Xander would be involved in the killing game, so I'll just skip over that until it's explained later.
And now there's Levi, he probably has some kind of personality disorder, like ASPD. Don't know for sure which one, I do know ASPD can lesson your empathy but I don't know if it can make you not feel empathy at all. This is assuming his disorder isn't made up that is. Levi seems to be trying to be a good person though, which is better then his past I guess, though he doesn't know exactly how.
Now, what David said about Arei, he lied. Arei had a hull one sided conversation (or if David did comment he didn't think about it) but David lied to Eden. Arei even held David's hand and said they could be friends. and that Eden CG? WTF is going on there? I do not have any clue. David probably didn't say anything due to how much the memory hurt, or he just didn't feel like saying it for some reason?
Now, we know the killing method, carousel! Quite creative, though I wonder what other murder could Teruko be talking about? Maybe I forgot a detail in the episodes cus I don't recall seeing this murder method, unless Teruko's talking about the horror movie she saw but she watched it with Veronica not Eden.
Then there's Nico, what is suspicious about Nico? Or is this about Nico trying to kill Ace? I don't have any clue honestly ._.
That's all!

Martyn talks a bit more about the Imp and Skizz podcast (which he’ll be on June 16) including a lovely message Skizz sent him afterwards. Transcript under the cut!
Martyn: But yeah, I got a really nice message from, uh, Skizz earlier on today about the podcast. Um, he just sent a message saying, "Hey, I'm editing part one right now, just wanted to say thanks for being so incredibly authentic. This episode's gonna be well recieved as people learn about the real you, it's extremely interesting." So...yeah.
There was a few times I gave answers and they were both kinda sat there...almost like, they almost looked somewhat surprised, or stunned, I dont know, that I was speaking so (laughs), so, I don't know, so blatantly. And I was a bit like, "ooh, is that too much?" (laughs), I was just like, "oop."
And earlier in the podcast as well—so please forgive me when you watch it—ah, there was a few times in, uh, like, the first hour, where I kept kinda like, chipping in, or chiming in, and kinda like, speaking over them? And it wasn't intentional, it was more—there was a very slight delay on the, um, on the feed between the two of us—and also as well, sometimes, like, their sentence, or what they were saying, felt like the tone of their voice was like indicating the end of their statement, but then they would say something else, and I'd be like, "oop-ah-I'm so—sorry, sorry." (laughs)
So yeah, that, that happened a little bit. But that's not just me completely ignoring their saying, it was just me, um, navigating—like, learning how they speak, as well as—y'know, the lag as well.
"Got a long plane ride coming up so it sounds interesting," yeah—the thing—the thing that I said to them as well, I said like, I think the reason I did speak openly and honestly about it is, one, because of my recent therapy, but also because I find those two incredibly authentic. Like, you know, Impulse is very open, about talking about, like, how much he second guesses himself, and things like that, and then Skizz is—you know—very much like, I think Skizz is kinda like the person I've become, or am becoming, where it's—there's a lot of, kinda, self love, and kinda unapologeticness with stuff like that.
Um, so I think speaking to both of them meant that I felt as though I'm literally in a limbo between their two personality types which is why it felt so easy to speak about those things, is because I feel though they've both experienced it, or are currently experiencing those things. Um, and I was saying to them, like, whenever I watch their podcast and they talk about stuff—like, they do a lot of, kinda like, sorta like pushing for people to help themselves kinda thing. But I was saying to them that, like, it always genuinely feels really authentic, and doesn't feel...it doesn't feel preachy, or—they're not trying to shift some course, or some pyramid scheme thing, its—they've just both got some good life experience behind them and they've had time to learn lessons and stuff, and I was just like, yeah, like, this feels like a space where they will-they will pick up what I put down, y'know what I mean.
Um, it was really good. I said to them towards the end I was like, this was like—I think is it the word cathartic? I think I said that, I dunno if that's the right word, but for me I was like, oh that felt really good. That felt great for me.

The Friendship between: Saiwa and Kiyoshi
(This is a short one ^^' Pic above is from -> this episode.)
Saiwa is also one of those who fell immediately for Kiyoshi's demonic charm. But then he fell in love with Jeb :3 Romance Factor: 2/5
Tumblr media
Even though Kiyoshi has a higher rank in the Resistance and is more powerful than Saiwa, Saiwa still remained the Boys' leader after Kiyoshi joined them. I guess because Kiyoshi has his additional duties for the Temple and the Resistance and he's absent so often. Sai would even have been happy if someone else would have shouldered the burden of the Boys' leadership. But it seems there's no way out of this for Saiwa (the other's wouldn't want it any other way anyway.) So Kiyoshi is the co leader who steps in when Saiwa is occupied elsewhere and offers advice.
Tumblr media
Like here, when Barfolomew, Sai and Jeb went to San Myshuno to find out what happened to Vlad's dead body and Kiyoshi lead 'The Four Horsemen' to the lake to drag Vlad's soul out of hell.
Tumblr media
Just like Jack, Saiwa is jealous of Jeb's close relationship to Kiyoshi. Here, Kiyoshi and Jeb are cooking together at the Tavern. They'd been the only ones being able to prepare a proper meal then. Saiwa had been so jealous that he took cooking lessons to avoid this in the future ^^'
Tumblr media
Here they cought them on 'a date' on Valentine's day...
Tumblr media
Saiwa trusted Kiyoshi blindly. But his trust got tainted when they found out that Kiyoshi had a secret relationship with Jack and treated him poorly which drove mentally fragile Jack into utter madness.
Tumblr media
And then came that that faithful day when all hints (first Jack's crazy hunch and then Arturo's blurry reminiscences) lead to that Saiwa is Kiyoshi's fated mate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kiyoshi just came back from the tree and got stuck in between being a tree and a Sim so the only way to bring him back was to have a fake relationship with him and beeing his mate. (So they thought...)
Tumblr media
Nonetheless Kiyoshi supports Saiwa and Jeb. Before he left the Farm, he gave Saiwa a very special present to encourage them to finally have their first woohoo ^^' (They still haven't used it neigher did they have their first woohoo yet...)

It's Triple Feature Night in... Tokyo Soul!
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / You Are Here! / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10 / 11 / 12 / Wrap-Up
There are THREE days in this report, because I was speeding through them so I could get to the Lizzie Episodes. Also Grian isn't in most of these ones, he's too busy being locked in the basement dungeon.
This report contains mentions of: slavery "jokes", death, violence, blood, stalking, sexual harassment.
Previously on Tokyo Soul:
ALL HAIL THE MOON LORD
This Time...
Episode 16 – BUY A TAURTIS!
I’m just gonna cut right to the chase – Sam is doing a full-on master-slave roleplay thing with the Taurtis clones, and it is not played as fetishy at all, even jokingly, it is really just. Slavery. It’s a whole thing. It’s not funny. The whole episode is sort of about it. Sorry.
Anyway, there are now four Taurtises, the new one is Taurissa. And there’s a Taurtis626 in the chat now? Coming back to this later because I think I figured it out. Taurtis00 found a sailor fuku in a barn and changed her name to Taurissa00. Trans rights. Taurtis69 is still Taurtis69, not the one who exploded, a different one. And Taurtis626 just showed up overnight. Everything clear now? Great!
Anyway Taurtis seems to be attracted to Taurissa.
Sam claims to not know where Grian is.
On the way to school, they find Jerry in the park. He’s another Taurtis clone, but sort of wall-eyed. Also he types in a manner that makes it clear he is meant to be stupid in an ableist caricature way.
Sam tries to auction off some of the Taurtis clones at school. Jamberite asks which ones are good for experimenting. I have no idea what is meant to be up with her.
Oh Geode’s smile is even wider now. But at least his eye is back.
Anyway he and Dr. Nurse MD each buy a Taurtis, before Señor Loro comes in to bust things up. Everybody scatters.
Except Nurse MD. Who apparently has DONE SOMETHING LIKE THIS BEFORE?? Señor Loro is talking to him like he’s an alcoholic. Eventually Nurse MD relents.
Anyway. The chupacabra fucking Got Tori. Sam chases him out of the school. Everyone goes back to the classroom to poke Tori’s head with sticks. Señor Loro walks in on this. He tells the class not to tell anyone this happened, because they “don’t have insurance”. He goes off to find a substitute teacher.
Sam and Taurtis decide that Jerry should be the substitute.
Episode 17 – JERRY THE TEACHER!
Jerry teaches the class about JerryKats. They are made out of Jerry and Cats, apparently.
“This is the most I’ve learned since we’ve been at this school, to be honest.” – Taurtis
Dr. Nurse makes Taurtis put on a sexy nurse outfit. He says he wanted to make Grian wear it. He also says it’s his fetish. Oh god and now Kurokuma’s here WHY. There is a limit to how much of this one guy on the internet can take, you know.
Anyway, basically, the “lesson” is Dr. Nurse MD letting this creepy old man harass Taurtis in front of the class.
After class, they run into Jorje the goat, and attempt to warn him about the chupacabra, but he’s more interested in flirting with Jerry. Señor Loro shows up and “confiscates” Jerry.
Today is swimming day in gym class! Time to see if all those Taurtis clones are still in the pool! They are not!
Episode 18 – TAURTIS IS DEAD!
They all go into the locker room to change. In Taurtis’s locker there is a note. Written by Taurtis. That he doesn’t remember writing. It says:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Taurtis is freaking the fuck out.
Taurissa claims she can’t get in the pool because she is having a baby.
Igbar is just having a great fucking time swimming.
In Professor Geode’s class, Sam and Taurtis attempt to glean clues from Geode’s behavior to help them figure out if Taurtis is really a clone. Unfortunately, Geode’s behavior is rather erratic, because today is Teacher Inspection Day!
Geode has prepared an entire decoy classroom that he hurries all the students into before Señor Loro shows up. Geode is suddenly wearing a chef’s outfit and pretending to be a teacher called Mr. Dayman. Señor Loro is completely fooled, much to Taurtis’s chagrin.
Then they all go back to Geode’s actual classroom, where Geode confirms that Taurtis is, in fact, a clone. But he’s also constantly backpedaling and trying to deny the existence of clones outright, and Taurtis is clinging onto this.
Geode takes a blood sample from Taurtis by hitting him with a knife.
They run into Jerry after school, who says that “the goat” is dangerous and scary.
Episode 19 – TEACHER CHUPA!
It’s a new day! Taurissa made salmon for everyone. Taurtis tries to eat a cactus. Taurissa explodes. Jerry takes this as a sign that their time has almost come and they’re all doomed. He says their “expiration date” is near, and they need an “antidote” that Professor Geode made. They figure they can ask Geode about it at school.
Outside, Jorje is trying to find Jerry. He’s also wearing a school uniform now. Sam and Taurtis tell him that Jerry expired while Jerry sneaks out the back door.
Jorje is already in the school lobby (lobby? Do schools have lobbies?) when they get there. He’s talking to the chupacabra, who is wearing a suit. He’s the new teacher. Unclear if Jorje recognizes him as the chupacabra, but Señor Loro definitely doesn’t.
The boys go to Geode’s classroom. Geode’s smile, somehow, is Even Wider now. He also disappears mysteriously.
The bell rings, and it’s time for Mr. Chupa’s class! It’s a History class, apparently. Also, the classroom is full of candles and cushions arranged in a wonky circle with a dead-looking bonsai in the middle of it, so I’m sure nothing weird at all will happen in this class.
Mr. Chupa leads the class in a meditation exercise. The meditation is mostly about Goats. Also Sam and Taurtis accidentally tell Jorje where Jerry is hiding.
Episode 20 – DR NURSE MD!
Nurse MD has decided to dedicate this class to teaching his students why they will all be terrible parents. They’re doing the thing where everyone has to take care of an egg, but in pairs, and also they’re encouraged to try to break other people’s eggs.
The eggs are actual Minecraft eggs. You can imagine how this goes.
Taurtis626 explodes at the back of the class and Sam literally Does Not Notice.
Jerry is pretending to be a potted plant.
Dr. Nurse MD literally has to come out into the hallway and GET THEM because none of them noticed Taurtis626 exploding. He just walks up and asks them to explain why his classroom is covered in blood. It's the funniest fucking thing.
They rush to Geode’s class again, where he very slowly tells them about the antidote. Taurtis69 explodes (again). The bell rings and Geode refuses to tell them anything else, because they need to go to gym class.
The gym teacher isn’t there. It turns out that Señor Loro hired Jerry as the replacement gym teacher.
Episode 21 – GEODE’S DUNGEON!
Jerry is having some difficulties controlling the class and fending off Jorje at the same time, so nothing has really been done by the time the bell rings.
Taurtis hurries them along to Geode’s class, because he can “feel his innards bubbling”.
Geode announces that the class is going on a field trip, and will be playing a game on the way there called “don’t get caught by Señor Loro”. They get caught by Señor Loro as soon as they step outside the school. Geode quickly puts on a ginger fake mustache.
Geode takes them to the dump, and tells them whoever digs the most will get a prize! Taurtis is convinced Geode took them to the dump because that’s where the antidote is.
Sam: “I mean, I really doubt he cares, at all.” Taurtis: “We’re his creations, Sam, of course he cares about us!”
Sorry Taurtis but I think I’m with Sam on this one, actually. Sentences I never thought I would say.
Taurtis immediately falls down a hole. At the bottom of the hole are, apparently, “a bunch of heads”. Sam jumps down to see. The heads don’t appear to be from anyone we’ve seen, but they sure are a bunch of heads.
Meanwhile, Igbar finds a “demon sword”.
Dom gets angry about everyone destroying his home, because apparently he lives at the dump now.
Taurtis continues to ask Geode about the antidote. Geode tells him that the antidote is “safe at home” in his vault.
Sam tunnels into Dom’s house, which is inside a hollowed-out trash heap.
Sam and Taurtis sneak out of class to break into Geode’s house. They bring Dom with them, because Dom is good at parkour and would therefore, they reason, also be good at breaking and entering. They also pick up Jerry on the way.
Geode’s house is very mad scientist-core, it’s got the beakers, the metal floors, the big test tubes, the whole shebang. The test tubes are each labeled “Test Subject [number] – Failure”. There’s also another container labeled “Samples of Taurtis’s Garbage”.
Taurtis opens up a manhole cover on the floor leading to a basement with At Least One Skull in it. Sam and Dom go down the ladder on the other side of the room. Taurtis is stuck in a cage. They all work to break down the cage door while Sam and Taurtis argue over whose fault this is.
Taurtis: “You know I love jumping down mysterious holes.”
They unlock a door in Geode’s office with a lever from their house that Taurtis had in his pocket. Inside is a block of coal labeled “The Perfect Taurtis”.
They go down a different ladder into a larger basement. There’s a big door with a bunch of levers next to it and a sign reading “Secret Taurtis Gloop Vault – password: 1”. There are also more Taurtis clones, and one Dom clone for some reason? They’re theorizing it was the milk. None of the Taurtis clones are moving, but the Dom clone is. He’s Dom3 according to the chat. They break him out. He and Dom immediately start flirting with each other.
Sam inputs the password into the vault and the door opens, revealing chests full of “Icky, Sticky, Taurtis Gloop”. Taurtis drinks a bottle. Jerry isn’t looking too hot. Geode has arrived to “take care of his children”. They all hide behind various Taurtis clones.
One of the clones apparently wants to take Geode on a date. Geode responds, “Why, of course, Chosen One”. So, that’s a thing that’s happening I guess.
Geode notices the gloop vault has been opened. Everyone bolts. Geode’s house is connected to a train station, so they’re able to hide there while Geode runs past them. Geode yells that he is going to inform his superiors.
Jerry doesn’t feel so good. Taurtis gives him a bottle of goop. Jerry’s head swells up, but nothing else happens. Apparently he was able to hold the explosion in, like a sneeze.
Back at home, Taurtis wonders if he has a number, and figures out by typing in the chat that he is Taurtis2.
STAR WARS SPECIAL!!
Since Pug already covered these episodes in this post, I don't focus too much on what's actually happening moment-to-moment, but more so the little details and the things related to the ongoing Tokyo Soul, uh, "plot". So my "summary" probably won't make a whole lot of sense if you haven't either read Pug's summary or watched the episodes yourself.
You know, I had assumed the Star Wars Day Special would have been posted on May the 4th, but no, it was posted on January 19th. Is this like one of those “Christmas in July” things?
Taurtis claims that “Grian used to always make us breakfast”. Not sure when this is meant to have happened, since they rarely eat on screen in either series, from what I’ve seen, and also they’ve been in Tokyo for Exactly One Week by my count, but maybe this is just one of those things where one of these kids will just fully make something up about another one of them.
Grian: “Do you know what he did???” Taurtis: “He’s done a lot of things…”
This is the funniest possible description of Sam to me. He’s done a lot of things.
Grian doesn’t know who Jerry is. He says he heard a bunch of Taurtises talking and then he “kinda went to sleep for a while”. He was there when they rescued a bunch of clones from the pool, so he knows about the clones, but the last time there were more than two Taurtis clones in the house was Yesterday Morning, which sort of implies that Grian has been Depression Napping for at least an entire day. Just thought you guys might want to know that.
Grian also asks if Sam named Jerry that because of “what happened to me”. This Kills The Man.
Grian has a very blasé reaction to being told that Taurtis is dead and the one walking around with them is a clone, but I guess there’s a lot going on in his life.
He also doesn’t really react to hearing that Tori was killed. I guess even if she was a pretty reasonable person they still didn’t do a whole lot in her class.
Taurtis wants to join the Stormtroopers because they’re all clones.
Just wanna point out that they’re learning to use the Force from the chupacabra. How the hell did the chupacabra learn how to use the Force?
Sam lost the egg he was supposed to be taking care of for Dr. Nurse’s class and goes looking around for one to “borrow”, which means we get to see inside Igbar von Squid’s locker! He has emergency breathing helmets, a gun named “Humie Hunter”, some raw fish, and some kind of crystalline thing named “Hyooman Souls”, so that’s interesting.
Okay why does Dr. Nurse suddenly want Geode dead I wasn’t under the impression he was part of this plotline. We’ll see if that actually sticks around past this special I guess.
Dr. Nurse: “Boys, I am trusting you, with all of my idiotic heart.” Taurtis: “There’s your first mistake.”
It’s occurring to me that aside from a couple remarks about not wanting to be in a cramped closet with him, Grian’s venom towards Dr. Nurse is still mostly about his intelligence/teaching skills. Which, like, makes sense since Grian wasn’t there for the whole… nurse outfit thing. But it’s still a little disconcerting to me.
Not sure why Geode is Jabba the Hutt suddenly, but okay. I mean. Star Wars Special is why, but. You know what I mean (I don’t even know what I mean).
Mr. Chupa fully eats a student. Will it last? Vote now on your phones.
Theory: everyone is being pushed by some cosmic force into playing the role of whatever Star Wars character they’re dressed as. Wouldn’t be the strangest thing that’s happened in this town. Definitely wouldn’t be the strangest thing that will ever happen in this town, we haven’t even gotten to Cthulu yet.
Also all the stormtroopers are Taurtis clones. Sam and Grian kill a bunch of them in the process of climbing an AT-AT.
We’ll also have to see if the principal stays dead after the special because they kill him too, because he’s Darth Vader or something.
They shove all the Taurtis clone Stormtroopers into the basement dungeon. They find Taurtis69’s diary in the process, which reveals that he dug the room out himself, and then later on Jerry decorated it. Sam goes inside to see for himself and Grian locks him in. Happy ending!
No Trauma Count This Time Because Pug Already Took Care of That
Something I'm thinking about. Taurtis is unavailable: Grian and Sam fuck around in a superstore for a couple episodes. Grian is unavailable: huge personal revelations. Out-of-story, it feels weirdly like Grian is still being considered as a "guest" character even though he's been on the show for a while now.
In-story though. Taurtis is Important, it's Important that Taurtis is There. But it's not quite as Important that it be the same Taurtis the whole time. In Sam's mind in Yandere High School, and now in the narrative itself in Tokyo Soul, there just has to be someone present who can fit in a Taurtis-shaped outline.
Idk. I'm Chewing On It.

TV Show - Dr. House | House M.D. IX
Over the weekend, I finished watching the fourth season, what a wild ride!
Tumblr media
The team breaks up and only House remains. Of course, one could say that he also needs a team because he is the top diagnostician, but that would be short-sighted. Without the constant brainstorming and influences of the others, the diagnoses would never come together. Unless he's at Wilson's and has a brainstorm again. Still, he needs the team or a team to go down this path, a lesson House doesn't really need to learn, but it seems Foreman does. He briefly has a team and behaves like House, but it's a completely different dynamic.
What's really interesting, though, is that the old team never really goes away. While the new team is very different, because it's familiar, you still get to see the old faces here and there, namely Chase and Cameron. Foreman is always around anyway. It's a bit like changing your diet, where you're eating completely different foods but still occasionally have a cheat day, so your head, not just your body, is on board with the whole thing.
I especially like that they've thought about the nerds with the new team. Kutner often waves this flag by bringing in pop culture topics, asking about Star Wars stuff, or just being a bit childishly naive. I don't mean that derogatorily; in such a serious series, I think it's pretty good and necessary.
Since the production of the fourth season falls during the writers' strike of that time (2007-2008), we have a very short season with only 16 episodes. This gives us relatively little time to process everything that's happening. First, there's the selection process for the new team, then Wilson's new relationship with Amber, and before we know it, we're first in "House's head" and then in "Wilson's heart". The impactful double feature at the end of the fourth season really throws the world around House out of whack, not to mention Wilson's world. This is also where the rift between the two begins, which lasts until House's father's funeral. I particularly like the reconciliation between them, or rather House's welcome back to Wilson. First a prank, then a donut and a carton of milk; that's true friendship and yes, also a bromance, for sure.
As I write, I always pause the current episode I'm watching. Right now, I see that I've already reached the tenth episode of the fifth season. The episodes themselves, I don't want to say are standard, but they don't have major implications for the overall House world, except for dealing with Amber's death (important topic!!!).
However, two important new story arcs are starting. First, we meet Lucas, the private detective hired by House to shadow Wilson. We'll see more of him in a prominent role later, but it's still quiet around him for now. But an even bigger impact is Cuddy's increasingly strong desire to have a child, which has been around for a while but is becoming more concrete until the episode where she's almost there but then gets disappointed by the mother of the child she was going to adopt. Kudos to Lisa Edelstein, because the pain she experienced in that scene, or rather her role, came across very convincingly, and she manages to carry that pain subtly through several episodes. And yes, I noticed the kiss between her and House, don't worry. But I also count that as part of this pain.
But the moment that impressed me the most was at the end of the fourth season when House is sitting on the white bus with Amber (what an incredibly good metaphor). Perhaps this is indeed the only scene where we get to know a House who is happy, and not just a part, a small piece, or a fragment, but 100%. His words that he wants to stay there because he has no pain hit me to the core because I also suffer from chronic pain. I don't mean to say that they are as severe as House's, but they are there, and I can relate to that so well. This has nothing to do with suicide or anything like that, please don't get me wrong. It's just the desire for a certain form of normalcy. To wake up in the morning and have no pain, not to worry about whether you'll make it through the day or have to take a step back somehow. I felt incredibly understood in that scene, and I think that, in turn, is an important point of the series. Showing people that they are not alone with their problems, that they are seen, and giving them a pleasant form of representation so that other people also notice that they exist. Especially because in my case, except for a slight limp, you can't tell, just like with House, for example.
So much evidence that this series is incredibly good and that on so many levels. I don't watch many medical series anymore, except for the first season of The Good Doctor, but I can't remember much beyond the first scene with the little boy. And unfortunately, I feel like it's the same with many of these series because they just don't have the impact that House does. I don't want to badmouth the other series, absolutely not. They have their place, no question, but they just don't have the scope that House does; they're more for pure entertainment and have chosen medicine or a hospital as a setting.

HORSELAND AGE HEADCONS (my own opinion)
Hi guys,
Today I would love to discuss one of more interesting topics about “Horseland” TV series. I mean characters age speculations, theories. I may be old but I still love this cartoon and I decided to make this post. (remember it’s only my opinion and my POV)
First character: Will Taggert
In short cut: Will is one of character. He is not a main character because we can’t see him very often in episodes. He is an ‘instructor’ in Horseland and teach rest of main characters.
So, according to that information, I would speculat that Will can be between 18 to 21 age. I also think like that because in episode 5 of season 1 when they escaped from fire and the scene where Sarah comfort Will. He said that he was in charge of this trip and he is responsible for what happened. So this give us a clue, that he must have been at least 18 or 19, because I guess parents couldn’t agree for their children go with someone who is not ful adult by himself. Beside his character, he is friendly, calm, step hard on the ground and he also is in charge of Horseland when his aunt and uncle (owners) are away, so he must be this 18 years old
Second character in line: Bailey Handler
In shortcut: he is one of main character. His parents are owners of Horseland and he is Will’s cousin.
In my opinion Bailey can be around 15 years old. Why? Because that in episode 12 of season 1 when Bailey’s parents are gone and also we get information that Will also leaving Horseland as well to help his aunt and uncle in that event for which Horslenad team practice in that episode. So he must be at least 15, because it could be highly irresponsible and weird to leave a place with a kid.
We also got another clue: ~When a new boy, Jesse, comes for an extended visit to Horseland, Bailey is overjoyed to have a boy his own age to hang out with~ season 2 episode 2. So it can suggest that Bailey is a little older than girls
Thrid Character: Sarah Whitney
In short cut: she is in my opinion main character because all story of this TV series start when Sarah arrive to Horseland first time.
I think she could be around Bailey’s age. Because we can see her as a mature, ground walking, kind, friendly person. In episode 7 of season 2 we can see how Shep describe history of Sarah’s cat name Mousey. In flashbacks we can see a Sarah which were a kid, then a little older and when the fragment with mentioning how she and her cat ride Scarlet for first time and for me could look like 10 to 11 years old. And when we are in present we can see a Mousey which is very old, so if cat grew up alongside Sarah she can be around 14 maybe 15 or even close to 16, because I guess cats don’t look that old even if they are in old age. So it could fit for her age range. Also episode 4 of season 2 we know that she got offered a place in Stanhope Riding Academy so it could be suggest that she could finish high school, also in episode 5 of season 1 we can hear that Chloe and Zoey didn’t attend on swimming lesson in high school so we could suggest ourselves that Sarah could be like Chloe in middle school now.
Next character is: Chloe Stilton
In short cut: she is one of main character, and anti-hero character, she has twin sister Zoey
This case with twin sister don’t fit me well, because Zoey always repeat that Chloe she the older one in that sister duo.
also in episode 5 of season 1 we can hear that Chloe and Zoey didn’t attend on swimming lesson in high school so she can *probably be* in middle school or in the end of high school. So I would say she could between 14 to 15 age range
Next character is: Zoey Stilton
In short cut: she is one of main character, and anti-hero character, she is younger twins sister of Chloe.
Like earlier I could think that they are not twins, but who knows.
We don’t have any clues about her age but I would guess she could be between 12 to 14. We can see that she has very switching personality, like making problems and intrings so she could fit to teenager age like that
Next character is: Molly Washington
In short cut: she is one of main character in series.
The same case like in discussing Zoey’s age. But we could also conclude that she can be around 12 to 14, because episode 8 of season 3 we can see that Molly got her first cellphone. So this event can fit. Beside she is riding a bus from city to Horseland which also fit to age range, because I guess parent’s couldn’t agree a small young kid riding alone.
Next character is: Alma Rodriguez
In short cut: she is one of main character in series.
Also like in case of Molly and others here we have no clue about her age, but I would speculate her to be age range like Molly. In episode 1 of season 1 we can hear that she has Button for five years so she must be at least 12 or 13 because I guess not every kid in that age can ride a big horse.
Last character is: Nani Cloud
In short cut: she is one of main character in series. But unlike others she appear late, because in season 3 episode 2. But we don’t have enough time to guess her age, but she could be 13 or even maybe 14
IN CONCLUSION:
We can tell that we can only speculate their ages, but my finall decsision about their age is:
Will- 19/20
Bailey- 16
Sarah- 15 or close to 16
Chloe- 14 or close to 15
Zoey- 13
Nani- 13
Molly- 12
Alma- 12

Friday, April 18, 2025
It's Good Friday today, so we had our Good Friday service at church this evening. Since I didn't volunteer today, I was able to get through my old clothes. We'll drop them off next week at the mission for donations. I also ended up getting an hour of gaming in, which was very welcome. On top of that, I was able to get some extra studying in, which was helpful.
I'm about ready to start writing on my U.S. Civil War paper, which is exciting! I'm going chapter by chapter now with my Lit novel to get more detailed notes down from the highlights and definition notes I made while reading through the first time. It really is a good book, and I can easily see why it's attributed to Lincoln as saying, "So you're the little lady that wrote the book that started the war." Not only does Beecher Stowe have a few stories happening at the same time, but she also breaks the fourth wall numerous times and speaks directly to the reader in a way that makes the reader question their beliefs and feelings about slavery and people's lives. It's done beautifully.
I am hooked on the telelearning series we're watching for Spanish. I don't see us getting through the whole series in this academic year, but I also haven't looked ahead to see where it will stop or if it will be introduced again in Spanish 4. If it's not, and it's not finished in Spanish 3, I will have to finish it on my own time. I need to know what happens and see if things continue to flourish between Raquel and Arturo. When they kissed, my heart soared. It was right there waiting to happen.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone! I may or may not post this weekend, but I do have a lot of free time tomorrow, which I am looking forward to. Good night!🦄

Year of Animation Day 99-100: Bluey S3E1-13
Date: April 9-10, 2025
Day: 99-100
Content Watched: Bluey, Season 3, Episodes 1-13
Year: 2018-present
Rating: TV-Y
Run Time: 91 minutes
Tumblr media
I've noticed just how often they have shots of the moon in this show, and I kind of like it. But my favorite bit of animation is definitely the way Chili climbs back onto the couch in "Bedroom." Because I move like that.
My favorite episode of this lot is "Magic." I like how everything comes together to talk about consent in kid-friendly terms--that it's better when people do things for you because they want to, not because you make them, and how this doesn't just apply to kids wanting adults to play with them. I also really like the ending, which felt like an homage to The Craft, whether or not it was.
But I also really like the structure of "Curry Quest," which reminds me of of season 3, episode 16 of Northern Exposure, "The Three Amigos," which has The Call of the Wild running over it.
My least favorite episode was "Unicorse," mostly because I wasn't really sure of the point. Was Bandit trying to wear Bluey out? Was this a test of patience for Chili? Was it just introducing him for "Puppets" later on? And sure, you don't need a lesson with every episode, but when we've got "Magic" and "Born Again" and "Obstacle Course" and "Omlette..." well, "Unicorse" is just blah.
Tumblr media
My favorite game, without a doubt, was "Born Again." I think this would be so much fun to play with kids, and I really like how it ends by basically encouraging us to play this in our every day lives, whether or not we're with kids. Because we do tend to lose our sense of wonder, and when you take a step back and let yourself see things like that again? It's pretty amazing.
Tumblr media
I also enjoyed the rug race in "Bedroom," and I wish I had rules for it. I thought this episode was interesting because it was a little like the girls going through a mutual divorce--complete with the stuffie that belonged to both of them. Though I did think it really interesting that Bingo basically let Bluey have everything, and I kind of wanted that to come back. This episode is also a good example of how they work details into the story so well, as Bluey and Bingo mention their grandad forgot Bingo was born. Considering what happened when Grandad had his own episode, I really like the consistency.
Similarly, I liked Bluey singing everything as an opera in "Mini-Bluey." We've seen her do this before, and it really makes me wonder if my friend, who is an actual opera singer, experiences this with her own kids. Also... is Bingo so used to it that she just wears noise canceling headphones whenever she's reading so she doesn't have to put up with Bluey's singing?
Tumblr media
But my favorite detail is in "Sheepdog," when Bingo is telling her mother jokes. I used to teach kindergarten, and my lunch period was filled with jokes like these. I also like the bit about mullets being back in because they are. At least here, anyway. I know several high schoolers who are sporting them.
My favorite takeaway is probably "Housework," if only because I've got a lot of housework that needs to be done, and like the Heelers, I detest it. But this episode reminds me of all the games my sister invented when we were kids to make housework easier. Why don't we invent so many games for things like this as adults? I mean it, though. I'm going to have to create some housework games to get my house clean.
But I also really liked "Obstacle Course," which reminded me of playing games with my brother, who was always way better at them than I was. Of course, I particularly like that Chili tells Bandit that the girls don't need everything turned into a competition, which I agree with. I feel like sometimes we push kids too hard to win and don't let them just have fun.
And "Omlette," which made me think of an article I read a while back about how you should let your kids (yes, even your littles) help with the cooking. Overall, I just feel like Bluey leveled up in season 3.
But I want to end on "Chest" because I love games and I use them a lot with the kids in my life. I do agree with Bandit that they can develop some serious mental skills, but you don't need to play chess, specifically, for this. And I think I may need to do a post at some point suggesting some better options for Bandit to play with his daughters.

the age of adulthood in 13 is 16 and for miners the age of adulthood used to be 14 with work beginning far earlier. This applies to District 13 citizens, Katniss is still a minor due to being a guest of 13.
Annie was also made a district 13 citizen while Finnick remained a guest of 13. Peeta can move around 13 with greater ease. Coin declared Peeta an orphan with no guardian except for 13 as a whole. He was given "medical guardianship" by the hospital. Like all of 13 he was assigned a unit. Peeta's military training was mandatory unlike Katniss's. As he was in the hospital Coin could override all protests and make decisions on his behalf. If Finnick or Haymitch did things "troublesome to someone under guardianship" they could be put under restraining orders. .Coin made this an "Executive decision" banning any legal appeals. Peeta and Annie had civil obligations that Katniss didn't have. Peeta was given the military rank of private and was put in the public affairs unit of the Psychological warfare division. Boggs was demoted from chief of security under pretext of slight failures in the counter Intel during the capitol paratrooper landing in September widely seen as an excuse to limit Michael Boggs power. He was placed in charge of the Psychological warfare division of 13. Katniss is also in this unit. Gale was moved to this unit after he fought with Peeta. Several officers like Sarah Jackson among others deemed to close to Boggs were moved as well. Peeta was in squad 452 which spread leaflets to be dropped on the capital as well as homefront propos. Squad 451 also did some film propos described in his journal. Private Mellark designed props for the films and posters for the unit. Propos showing Katniss and Peeta in the same room training were instituted. Peeta also recieved weapons training and a personal weapon to be given as needed, he was given much more intensive basic training. Coin ordered that he be given no exemptions, and do everything required to have the military training that a citizen of 13 would have if he shot at his hallucinations with guns and killed someone she didn't care. The jacker clearing operations were part of training. Everyday there were citizen wide training drills that Katniss didn't have to take part in. But when Peeta woke up he went straight to the drills. Half of every day were spent training and on the job training. 5 people died while Annie and Peeta were training but Coin vetoed everything and called them "learning experiences. There was an incapacitor in their uniforms but Coin wanted her assasin mutts to kill someone to mentally burden Peeta and Annie she honestly believed that it would Incentivize more self control. They had to see footage of their errors after they were killed. Peeta tried to shoot a bullet in his skull after killing a trainer but his incapacitor came online. He had a mental breakdown afterwards when he woke up in the hospital. The same thing happened to Annie. The hospital told them the capitol killed them not Annie or Peeta fanning their rage. Annie saw Coin smile as she killed trainer Jones, the same smile Snow gave them when they were sent to the training center and tried to kill Coin but didn't get as far as Peeta when she gave a murderous look to Coin, the president panicked and had the Incapacitor put online before Annie could release the trigger of her rifle. Guilt over their kills did increase their focus with even more willpower applied to training. Their fear of episodes was greatly increased.
Those indirectly killed as a lesson to Peeta and Annie during episodes include
Annie
Jones Charles born 40 ADD killed 7 October 75 DD
Howard Moore born 45 ADD Killed 7 October 75 DD
Peeta
James Barnac born 50 ADD killed 7 October 75 DD
Thomas Philips born 25 ADD Killed 7 October 75 DD was next to Helen Charles when Peeta confused them for Peacekeepers)
Helen Charles. Born 40 ADD Killed 7 October 75 DD 3 minutes after the death of her brother.
Coin also ordered them to give eulogies at their funerals. Peeta gave a heartfelt eulogy apologizing for their deaths and stated that the capitol must pay and that no one is safe from the capitol until it falls. Annie gave a speech that subtly attacked Coin. Stated that human life was not valued by tyrants(plural), and that her victims lived full and complete lives before they were unnecessarily killed but where tyranny rules life can be taken coming as a suprise analogous to the suprise a fish has at biting a fishermen's hook. Coin liked at how eloquently Annie spoke gave that smile and wanted to see her more in propos. She made a speech forgiving Annie and Peeta for the conclusion of the funeral. Katniss witnessed both deaths on October 7 including Peeta trying to off himself and Annie pointing her rifle at Coin. She was compelled to speak at the funeral by coin and given a card to read, she did a bad job.
Coin ordered a propo where Peeta and Annie's words were taken out of context and made into attacks on the capitol. Katniss's scripted lines were added into the propo.
The D13 president invented a story where those 5 trainers were killed by capitol sleeper bat mutts and Annie and Peeta killed the mutts after the funeral. This propo was not aired In 13. But Katniss, Haymitch, Johanna were shown the propos to emphasize Coin's command over them. Coin also would not have minded Finnick or Katniss being one of the accidents and would have let her mutts off themselves in that scenario.

Well, if it's any consolation,
47
00:01:56,406 --> 00:01:57,873
I haven't gotten
this much attention
48
00:01:57,907 --> 00:02:00,243
since I arrived to school
wearing my sexy witch costume.
49
00:02:03,712 --> 00:02:05,382
Sexy witch costume?
50
00:02:05,415 --> 00:02:06,916
Jughead Jones.

00:02:14,656 --> 00:02:17,093
and sexy teen witch
is a very boss idea.
56
00:02:17,127 --> 00:02:20,863
Hmm. Well, glad to have
inspired something.
57
00:02:22,598 --> 00:02:23,799
Catch you later, alligator.
—----------------------------------------------
142
00:06:34,883 --> 00:06:35,918
[Veronica] <i>I have to tell you,</i>
143
00:06:35,952 --> 00:06:39,022
this is the bee's knees,
Jughead.
144
00:06:39,055 --> 00:06:40,890
I didn't realize
you could draw too.
145
00:06:40,923 --> 00:06:42,692
[Jughead] Well,
I'm no Ethel Muggs,
146
00:06:42,725 --> 00:06:46,262
but I think this brain egg
could be the thing
to save Pep Comics.
147
00:06:46,296 --> 00:06:48,965
Mr. Fieldstone is looking
for a fresh breakout character
148
00:06:48,998 --> 00:06:51,234
to get past the code
and bring in new readership,
149
00:06:51,267 --> 00:06:54,704
and I think it's
Veronica the Teenage Witch.
150
00:06:54,737 --> 00:06:56,205
[footsteps approaching]
151
00:06:56,239 --> 00:06:58,341
Veronica, you're not
gonna believe who's here.
152
00:07:00,677 --> 00:07:03,279
Miss Josie McCoy.
—------------------------------------
333
00:15:59,916 --> 00:16:02,919
[Veronica] <i>Veronica</i>
<i>The Teenage Witch</i>
<i>is too sexy, you say?</i>
334
00:16:02,953 --> 00:16:04,887
I mean, he's not wrong.
335
00:16:04,921 --> 00:16:07,157
I am cut from the same cloth
as Veronica Lake
336
00:16:07,190 --> 00:16:11,727
and therefore,
too provocative for
those feeble-minded censors.
337
00:16:11,760 --> 00:16:13,395
It's their loss.
338
00:16:13,429 --> 00:16:15,531
On top of which,
I have to figure out
a new name,
339
00:16:16,266 --> 00:16:18,068
something more magical.
340
00:16:18,101 --> 00:16:22,538
Hey, did you happen to see
that Audrey Hepburn picture
that came out last year?
341
00:16:22,571 --> 00:16:24,640
Her character had
a superb name in that.
342
00:16:26,309 --> 00:16:27,877
What was that movie
called again?
343
00:16:27,911 --> 00:16:29,212
<i>Sabrina.</i>
344
00:16:29,246 --> 00:16:30,679
Audrey played
the title character.
345
00:16:30,713 --> 00:16:31,747
Sabrina.
346
00:16:31,780 --> 00:16:32,815
Yeah.
347
00:16:34,251 --> 00:16:36,086
Yeah, that could be the ticket.
348
00:16:42,758 --> 00:16:47,330
"In the bloom of Eden's garden,
the first transgression.
349
00:16:47,364 --> 00:16:50,466
A simple apple,
Eve learned her lesson.
350
00:16:52,601 --> 00:16:55,537
Different garden,
same temptation.
351
00:16:57,439 --> 00:17:00,809
A young man
seeking an education.
352
00:17:05,315 --> 00:17:07,951
A teacher's pupil
brings her apples,
353
00:17:07,984 --> 00:17:10,653
and sinful thoughts
with which he grapples.
354
00:17:10,686 --> 00:17:14,124
While she teaches,
he sits through classes
355
00:17:14,157 --> 00:17:15,691
wondering how she looks
356
00:17:17,093 --> 00:17:18,194
without those glasses."
—--------------------------------------------------
590
00:31:42,125 --> 00:31:44,227
[Veronica] <i>I'm so</i>
<i>sorry, Jughead.</i>
591
00:31:44,261 --> 00:31:46,897
Sabrina The Teenage Witch
is a brilliant idea,
592
00:31:46,930 --> 00:31:49,331
and I'm not just saying that
because I inspired her.
593
00:31:49,365 --> 00:31:50,733
She's just ahead of her time.
594
00:31:52,969 --> 00:31:54,703
Give it a few years.
595
00:31:54,737 --> 00:31:58,507
Let the hysteria die down
and there will be
no stopping her.
596
00:31:58,541 --> 00:32:03,213
I just feel like Pep Comics
is sinking in quicksand.
597
00:32:03,246 --> 00:32:05,148
Listen, if you're down
in the mouth
598
00:32:05,182 --> 00:32:06,983
and not in the mood
for a premier,
599
00:32:07,017 --> 00:32:08,484
I'd completely understand.
600
00:32:08,517 --> 00:32:10,386
Are you kidding?
This is probably
the only chance
601
00:32:10,419 --> 00:32:13,756
I'll ever be invited
to a Hollywood premiere.
I'm not going to miss it.
602
00:32:13,789 --> 00:32:15,324
-The only thing is--
-You don't have a suit.
603
00:32:16,725 --> 00:32:18,929
I barely have any clothes
without an S on them.
604
00:32:18,962 --> 00:32:22,132
I thought we might
run into this predicament.
605
00:32:22,165 --> 00:32:27,103
So I may or may not have taken
some precautionary measures.
606
00:32:28,337 --> 00:32:31,908
Tailored exactly
to your measurements.
607
00:32:31,942 --> 00:32:36,246
I think you'll find nothing but
the best for my flutter bum.
608
00:32:36,279 --> 00:32:37,379
Yowza.
609
00:32:40,016 --> 00:32:42,118
Are you absolutely sure
you're not a teenage witch?

I’m a believer in the whole Echo Zane is Mr. E thing but the whole story of him is tragically hilarious when you break it down:
-He is literally built as a shittier version of zane, like face just falls off type of shitty
-this happens sometime prior to season one, like he has been around suffering this entire time
-Sometime prior to season two Dr. Julian locks him into a fucking dungeon in the lighthouse for no reason
-he then knowingly leaves him to rot in the lighthouse when he is rescued, with the whole episode having the lesson that “no one deserves to be imprisoned, while Echo Zane is rotting in the fucking walls”
-The only person who knows he exists then dies off screen instantly of “we don’t want to keep this character around disease, which kills Sensei garmadon later)
Tumblr media
-When he finally gets out in Skybound time travel bullshit puts him back in the lighthouse dungeon and Jay and Nya who know full well he is there never go back to help him, (canonically they later tell Wu about the whole thing who also decides not to help him)
-The Sons of Garmadon then somehow acquire him from the lighthouse (who apparently have quite the team of robotics experts and engineers on hand) and he’s just evil now
-him being locked in the lighthouse for 6 seasons didn’t faze him because he’s a nice little guy in skybound but being locked in it for 2 more seasons turned him into a revenge-driven insane mute
Tumblr media
-He spends the whole season hating on zane, literally almost beating him to death and never decides to reveal their relation (i know he does in the deleted scene but this is way funnier)
-Him taking on the alias “Mr. E” FUCKING MYSTERY and it never being revealed to anyone who he is will forever be my favorite niniago writing blunder
-Despite being the most competent member of the Sons of Garmadon by quite a bit ,he is ripped limb from limb by garmadon for no reason
-Sometime between season 9 and season 16 (at least in my head cannon) Harumi rebuilds him and he just has a glock now, and is also fully on board for helping out niniago Satan
-After his 16 season long journey he is crushed to death under a Better Call Saul billboard

Ep. 16 | Crisis! The Threat of Failing
Rating: 15 / 25 | Watch

A great episode in between arcs, especially if you love Denki or Iwabe like I do. I think if you want to understand these two characters, this episode is vital watching. It shows their true friendship begin and hints at the future of them (and Metal) being on a team together.
Denki, like we've seen before, is afraid of being a disappointment. He knows that he chose this path, but may not be able to see it through despite of being a good student otherwise. By failing, he'd be showing his father that he was still weak and unworthy. It also shows that Iwabe is a symbol of what could happen to him if he fails and Denki voicing that fear comes off like he's looking down on Iwabe (which he kind of was, at the beginning.)
Despite being a mainly Denki episode, I think Iwabe is where this episode shines. He has been held back twice (I believe) so he's older and therefore more isolated from his classmates than Denki is, and he has past trauma related to being left behind by the friends he did make because he was held back (though were they really his friends if they didn't keep up with him?) He is still trying hard to pass and puts on a brave face for Denki, but seeing him resigned to having to take another year to be a shinobi was hard to watch and I'm glad he took Denki's insistence on teaching him engineering to heart.
Though why these kids are learning engineering at 12 is beyond me. Maybe I've been out of school too long or maybe they've just got higher expectations of shinobi, who knows.
It was mentioned that Metal was preparing for the test extra hard in order to not be nervous during the exam, but considering that it's been shown multiple times that he literally cannot overcome it, I wonder how he managed to pass any of his practical exams. I also think it was nice to bring in Rock Lee as an adult that also failed to help Denki, even though I'd think that if anyone could explain how to walk up walls with chakra to someone with difficulties, it'd be the guy that can inexplicably do it despite not being able to do any other ninjutsu.
While a bit contrived that they'd just so happen to need to use these specific skills in an emergency situation the day of their final exams, I did enjoy the escape from the fire and it was fulfilling to see them apply what they've learned so flawlessly (and pay off Denki getting the Super Special Jumpsuit earlier in the episode.) Shino's speech about how it is important to apply his lessons in reality and in times of need was sweet, and I'm glad that he accepted their story as a form of passing (even though I don't know how he verified that Iwabe did the electrical work; I guess he just trusted Denki's word or that he confirmed with the fire department off screen.) As shinobi, their routine is going to be emergencies, so it's nice that Shino acknowledged that.
Overall a great episode for the characters, and I love to see them grow. This episode is peak early Boruto, and shows off a low-stakes charm that is present throughout these first few seasons.

Reporting for Duty, Duchess!
Tumblr media
Description: As a successful captain in the military, Yun-a is an icon of success and power. But after an accident on the battlefield, she finds herself trapped in a romantic fantasy novel. Stuck in a supporting role as the best friend to the main protagonist, Yun-a is determined to overturn the plotline and change Rosalie’s fate. Will she be able to change Rosalie’s fate and find happiness in the new world? Will she return to where she was originally from?
My review:
I would like to start this review by saying that I only read 16 episodes of this manhwa and I doubt I will be reading any more of it.
It's not bad, well... it's not problematic bad, but it's just poor execution and extremely boring bad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Main character is Yun-a/Rosalie is just very bland and kinda annoying. She starts the series by reading her friends novel and stating that she doesn't like any of the main characters especially the protagonist best friend.
Yun-a is very much not like the other girls and kinda sexist type of character who immediately blames Rosaline for never breaking free of her mother abuse and for being too soft for her position.
I thought that there will be "From a Knight to a Lady" arc where the main character understands that there is diffrent ways of being strong and learns to appreciates other women. I was wrong.
But plain and boring characters is one thing, genuinely poor execution is completly another.
There is no feeling of consequences or even time in that story.
Yun-a resolves all Rosaline household problems in first 4 chapters and if not for the dress change I would think it happened in just one day.
Also in those first episodes Yun-a many times takes notice how her new body is much weaker, but also in 4th chapter she challanges a night to a duel using just a dagger and wins without a problem - no training to gain back her strenght needed.
She also suddenly wears pants and turtleneck?? Which is extremely modern outfit and so out of place but no one bats an eye when she shows up like that for the first time. I just can't understand why would she wear a turtleneck instead of plain white shirt like other knight characters. Also if she just prefered pants over dresses due to her modern experience I don't get why wouldn't she wear them more often - she wears pants on the training grounds and she wears pants during her walk through the city, but she wears dress when she's supposed to learn how to ride horses, which without propper saddle makes the whole lesson usseless
Tumblr media
Manhwa also has a problem with stakes.
There were multiple scenes where there would be like a big build up only for the situation to be resolved in one panel, or even behind the scene so we can only watch the "effects" without any of the actual scenes.
Thers is also a problem with telling instead of showing.
There is that one scene where Yun-a and ML meet the guards and she immediately makes a scene to distract them from their interrogation. Later ML asks her how she knew he didn't want to share his name and she replies "Intuition". There is no close up on the faces to show what they might be thinking, no inner monolog explaining why she did what she did
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is no character chemistry, no stakes, no consequences - just one big nothing.
