When Epic finally gets on stage, there should be two levels to it. Like how in Hamilton, there’s the platform above the stage, kind of a like a balcony or walkway? And then it should be decorated to be like Olympus, and none of the humans or mortals ever go up there, it’s just the gods who sing down at all the measly heroes, and then sometimes they (mostly Athena) come down and actually talk to them, but most of the time it’s literally orders/reprimands coming from above.

Home Tap 1: My first concert with them? Since it was the first time I’d be playing in front of many people, I knew I’d have a hard time trying to look at the audience. Cater noticed and told me to look at him so I could feel less overwhelmed… Let’s say I didn’t expect him to be so literal. His clones substituted the audience because no one came to see us. Home Tap 2: Hm, my violin? Indeed, it’s not the same one I use at Mostro Lounge. An electric violin is more suitable for the club’s activities. I’m surprised you noticed it. That means someone’s been paying too much attention to the musician playing ambience music… That was a joke. Home Tap 3: Kalim and I joined the club in the same year so I got to see how much he’s improved his drumming technique. It’s impressive. Certainly, Lilia’s been an excellent teacher to him. Home Tap 4: I like the idea of having customized masks for our performances. Maybe I should mention it once we have enough funds. Home Tap 5: I recently accepted to do some vocals just for our club sessions. You can come see us, but please refrain from telling everyone else. At the moment, I only feel comfortable singing for a few people. I’m assuming you’re asking after seeing that Adorno post lol - I don’t wanna get too specific but my dissertation work is on fascist movements in north america! the first text I encountered that really made me want to study it (in addition to just like observing and experiencing what’s happening in the world, especially as a trans person lol) is The Authoritarian Personality by Adorno, Frenkel-Brunswik, Levinson, and Sanford. I think it’s a pretty flawed text for a lot of reasons but it + some of Adorno’s other work are pretty formative for my research interests and understanding of the social world. I’m deeply indebted to it intellectually and it’s a landmark text in western studies on fascism (so it contains all the issues of western thought on fascism in general in addition to Adorno’s flaws and limitations as a thinker more specifically).

It’s a thousand pages long so if you wanted to read parts of it, I would recommend finding a pdf of the 2019 edition and reading Adorno’s critical reflections on the work written after it was published (it’s inserted as a preface in the 2019 edition) + the introductory chapter. The intro outlines the context and rationale for the study (basically: why did people support Nazi Germany, what motivates antisemitism in the modern day) and describes the methodology of the study. The methods section is incredibly interesting, the authors talk about how they go about collecting fascist sentiment from the public while basically deceiving their participants, since one of the methodological problems they (and prior research) run up against is that most people do not publicly and openly declare, even on anonymous surveys, their support for fascist governments, so you should instead measure their support for the underlying rhetoric and sentiment of fascist beliefs without explicitly telling people they’re being polled on how fascist they are (their unit of analysis is the potentially fascistic subject, not necessarily explicit fascists - they wanted to, in addition to outright fascists, measure potentiality for fascist support and were interested in people who might reject explicit fascist talking points but still agree with the underlying logics of fascist thought). The study is very heavily wedded to psychoanalysis, which I have a lot of problems with, but I think they capture something legitimate and real with their psychological framework. Part of Adorno’s defense of their psychological approach is that personality is the medium through which ideology gets expressed (essentially his claim is that you are your beliefs about the world, and that you become a different person when you believe different things, an argument I find basically compelling), so measuring personality ‘traits’ of a person will reveal their potentiality for fascist support, possibly even moreso than their publicly stated beliefs. Again I think generalising from this framework needs to have a lot of qualifications attached to it, but despite my many reservations with psychology I don’t think this is a totally illegitimate approach.

I like to think that Ivan knows how unimportant he is to Till and how he is never in his mind/sight at all so when he attacked Till to guarantee his own death, he chose to squeeze his neck JUST cause Till could look at him this once and last time (just like the kiss hehe)

I think Ivan almost lost it when choking out Till and choking on his blood is what snapped him out of actually killing Till,,,,

cause like,,,, it's like,, it would be so easy to take Till with him but nah, he doesn't love Ivan back and he knows it damn well, so he lets Till go. He's selfish like Sua but him dying for Till here isn't the same as Sua dying for Mizi, cause Till doesn't replicate his feelings, he's just here to show his love cause he's got nothing to lose

I read a post I wholeheartedly agreed with that talked about a ship you like not being endgame.

Sometimes people assume that you don't like the development of a new couple in a show because you're upset that your ship broke up, when that's not necessarily true.

I'm upset at the fact that Portwell broke up because they didn't even give them a chance to begin with, they erased a season of development to make another ship happen. I like plenty of ships that weren't endgame, and I'm not upset over it not being endgame because that's not the issue. Mercedes and Sam from Glee, for example. They tried, and showed it didn't work, so they weren't endgame, and that's totally fine, I'm not salty about that at all.

The problem with Portwell is that it feels they didn't even get to develop or deepen the underlying issues they had. They, instead, made a cheap storyline with jealousy, and getting a third party involved, because that's easier to write than to develop an actual reason why they would need to break up, or why that would be best.

I think the fact that they were about to be in different stages of life should've been the foundation to the idea that they needed to break up. That's incredibly valid criticism I've seen anti pws make. Yes, they were on different stages of their life, but I, for one, still ship them because even though they were on different stages, they were exactly what the other needed at that precise stage that they were in. The present. That doesn't mean their relationship was meant to last forever, but that at least they were something the other needed at that point in time. Instead of building on that, or on other things that should be addressed, it was barely touched on as an excuse Gina used to break up without actually showing the audience why that was relevant at all.

I wouldn't be upset at Portwell not being endgame if they would've at least given them a chance. As a shipper, it's frustrating to see your ship fall apart over easily fixable things because the writers decided they wanted another relationship to take place right after. Gina literally says they weren't given a chance, word for word, "can it really be over if it never really got a chance to start?"

It wasn't them as characters that didn't get a chance to thrive, because they had been together for months at that point in the story. It refers, imo, to the writers who didn't give the couple a chance to thrive on screen in front of the audience; we weren't given good reason to accept their breakup as "the best" for both characters, because the relationship was doomed from 3.01.

So no, I'm not salty at the fact that Portwell isn't endgame. I'm salty at the fact that the writers didn't even give them the chance to make things work, even if it was for a little while, and threw out their S2 development to have petty reasons to break up in S3.

besides the rep live skit where samatoki gets falsely arrested but wants to stay arrested because rio wants to feed him so juto’s running back and forth confusedly trying to extend samatoki’s sentence LOL
