Hey Raven, have you finished watching Black Butler: Public School Arc? :'D I recently finished watching the anime, It was good! I loved it! I know a lot of fans were disappointed with the different art styles/animation, but studio CloverWorks did such an amazing job! I wonder when we'll get another season, probably in another 4 years 🫠

Obviously, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between the main characters and the Twst cast. Especially that one scene where Ciel walks to the Purple House/Violet Wolf dormitory, and I instantly thought, "No way, that's basically the ramshackle Dorm!"

That being said, just for the funsies, if the Twst cast were to be students in Weston College, which dorms do you think they would be assigned to? We've got Scarlet Fox, Sapphire Owl, Green Lion, and Violet Wolf. I think it’s a fun scenario to imagine the Twst cast in Weston College lolol.

Oooh, I actually don’t watch a lot of anime (it’s hard for me to sit still for like 20 minutes straight) 😅 but it’s nice to know that people are enjoying the adaptation of the Public School arc! I have fond memories of that part, even though I no longer follow Black Butler. I blame it for the horrible realization that I find Mr. Phantomhive hot—

And yes, lots of people have pointed out the similarities between the BB Public School arc and TWST. It makes sense since Yana was the creative spearheading both; there was sure to be spillover!

Azul (all that shady contract work and abusing loopholes takes a lot of brainpower :v)

Ace (okay, maybe his grades suck but I’m counting his cheeky cleverness here)

Jamil (he’s not allowed to excel in TWST because of Kalim so assume he is allowed to excel in these circumstances; if not, maybe he’d be in Red House with Kalim as his attendant 😞)

Jade (pretty crafty in general; prefers to plot before acting or resorting to violence)

Being in that weird middleground of homeschooled and unschooled is very... Strange..!

#Like. I DID go to school! Until I was 9! And then I didn't anymore.#I don't know math but I am literate. Science eludes me and I don't understand basic functions. But I. Am literate!#Going back to learn things as an adult is so frustrating and embarrassing because these topics are only every framed for children #Understandably! I don't have a problem with that itself. However it makes it more obvious how far behind you are on everything #And it's exhausting. The progress is slow. I can't spend a school day's worth of time studying because I have responsibilities.#My mother made it clear that it is my job alone to learn these things. When my brother expressed his rage over it she said the same to him.#'If you're so upset by it why haven't you learned it yourself?' Something along those lines. It hurts a lot #Where do you start. I have over 10 years to catch up on. I know he was confused and overwhelmed as well.#Whether or not it is our responsibility to learn now.. It doesn't change that she should have taught us then.#But I can't talk about it. Or I will get yelled at or guilt tripped... 🙏

the beauty of my obsession with genshin is that my dreams can recreate it perfectly and my brain can make characters say fuck in it

I was thinking this quest seemed to me to word things in a way that painted Blade as Dan Heng's past haunting him, but also the other way round, Dan Heng as the past Blade can't leave behind as a form of selfhaunting (very similar to Jingliu's own way of dealing); both things were already established before, but now it's almost explicit.

I was wondering if killing Yaoshi would render the possibility of Blade's death real at last. Jingliu seems to state a similar idea here. And Blade's death would result in Dan Heng's release

#Dan Heng's first response surprised me because like... Blade very much could kill him?#But I suppose the answer is precisely Blade's reply about Elio's script #That he can't not as ontological impossibility but due to a circunstancial necessity #For what I've seen the original Chinese line of the second option‚ while very similar in meaning‚ carries even more that haunting weight #I think it goes very in line with what is said through the quest about how Jingliu was Dan Feng's closest #and Dan Feng's was Yingxing's. Especially with how the word 'closest' in Japanese and Chinese #apparently was worded something like 'companions in life and death'#I don't know Chinese and I don't like translations‚ even less so literal translations‚ because one is detached from the cultural context #as well as the sense they carry and the normal use the native speakers make of them #(I notice mistakes a lot even between Spanish and Italian for instance) but the 'companions through life and death' wording #makes a lot of sense to me in how it was used twice for two dynamics. 'Closest' means just one. The other wording can include several #And the High Cloud Quintet were that for each other‚ and still are in some way‚ especially this trio #Dan Heng's line in the second option seems to play along with that concept #I talk too much #Traces #Fragments and scraps #Blade #Jingliu #Dan Heng #Blade and Dan Heng #Jingliu and Blade
