Little Red Running Hood
"Tell us a story" to his Granny a child had said
"The one with a wolf you used to tell us in bed"
The Grandma sighed and she closed her eyes
She knew a bigger plot behind it belies
She opened a book and searched for this story
And tried to tell it in all of its glory
Once upon a time there was a young girl
Who had beautiful eyes and long curled hair
Her parents used to treat her well
But when father was angry he tended to always yell
One day the girl received a task
Mom told her to get before the dusk
To her Grandma with medicine because she was ill
So the girl dressed up and didn't stand still
Gone out of the house and to the forest headed
The day was pretty and so was the weather
Despite her mom's request not to get distracted
She stepped out the path - against mother acted
The girl stared at flowers, mushrooms and trees
And then from behind the Wolf her sees
He arises from the bushes creeping on the miss
Quickly comes closer and firmly asks this
“Little Red Darling what you're doing here?
It's so dangerous out there and no people near...”
“I'm going to Grandma with meds in the basket
I have some food and pennies in casket”
“Don't you want my company on the road?
You could get abducted or be victim of fraud...”
“No thanks mister Wolf, I'm good on my own
When the girl spoken Wolf towards bushes flown”
She continued to walk down the forest way
But sadly for her no one could say
The Wolf kept stalking her till she got to Granny
Girl wanting to give her the meds and the pennies
But Wolf overtook the Red Hood and got there faster
The upcoming events had to be a disaster
As the Hood knocked the door, Wolf came in through the casement
Grandma greeted the girl, they have gone to basement
The Animal hid in the closet and stayed tranquil
Meanwhile Grandma prepared a tasty meal
“Wait here my darling, for you something I have”
Then the woman got up and from the kitchen left
Suddenly scream is being heard throughout the house
It was heard even by the small mouse
The girl rushes through the rooms and sees the loud noise's reason
Wolf ate the Grandma - he forgot to season
Then threatens the girl and scares her completely
Stuns her and puts in the basement discretely
When the Red Hood got up she was very frightened
The Wolf for his meal was very excited
But all at once the Gamekeeper breaks down the door
Looks at the Wolf, aims and shoots times four
“This is the end” tells to the girl
The story is finished - somebody could tell...
But fairy tales tend to deviate from the truth
These are often stories not really based on proof
This one actually is based on a real story
That got so strongly into this woman's memory
Because she experienced it from a close perspective
And adjusted ger story to be for grandkids effective
Ana - that was the Grandma's name
Whose story a fairy tale for children became
But in reality the story was not so merry
Actually you could say it was kind of scary
This Grandma was the Red Hood, currently pretty old
So let's tell the story that was never told
Story which was a way of hiding real events
So the real Red Hood such as this presents...
Once upon a time there was a young girl
Who had teary eyes and messy hair
Her parents didn't use to treat her well
When her father was angry he would always yell
One day the girl had enough quarrels
And ran from her house taking food from barrels
She headed to Grandma to look for help
Wanting to tell her how bad she felt
This day was awful, heavy rain was pouring
The Red Hood walked the path while others were snoring
Her mood was poor and she was so unwell
That didn't pay attention, stumbled and fell
Then Creepy Man arises from the bushes
Looks bit suspicious, heavy suitcase pushes
“What such young girl is doing here?
Where nothing is close and nobody's near
Somebody could hurt you, you're alone and unarmed
You'll get ill cause you're wet and get yourself harmed”
The scared girl quickly gets up
Looks at the Man as the tension builds up
Starts running - she might've escape
The Man gets further as his creepy cape
Red Hood didn't know she was being followed
She couldn't have known Man was in the wallow
Girl arrived to her Granny but in the back of house
The Creepy Man as quiet as little mouse
Got inside through the opened casement
Meanwhile the ladies gone for jam to basement
They were eating dinner and talked the girls worries
Grandma tried to make her smile reminding good memories
She went to the pantry to look for the sweets
Suddenly a loud scream Ana's ears meets
She runs to get Granny and sees something tragic
Something far away from fairy tale magic
Her Granny is dead blood was everywhere
And in the center stood a Man there
The Man she earlier had met before
Now standing near the corpse in her Granny's home
The murderer looks at her scaring her completely
Stuns her and takes to the basement discretely
The girl awakes a couple days later
But the horror of his actions made her fear greater
Fortunately officers burst through the door
Yell at the murderer, louder and more
But the Man runs to girl with a dagger so sharp
And in the girl's eyes everything goes dark
Cause officer shoots the Man, Red Hood looks away
That's the end of story which took place some day
Trauma or Ana was such a great deal
She made up that fairy tale to try and stand still
She wanted to protect her grandkids in the coming times
Thanks for listening to our simple rhymes :)
I made this poem for a project in English with my best friend and it's my magnum opus. I really loved writing this and have a whole damn hyperfixations about it so there will be a lot of art and concept art posted because I love this au so much. Hope you enjoyed it too<3

warnings: 18+ minors do not interact, consensual noncon + stockholm syndrome + kidnapping in ajax’s, mentions of spanking, slapping, and bondage in alhaitham’s, blood, hint of yandere in thoma’s, coercion in ayato’s, power imbalances that are taken advantage of/clear power dynamics (dom/sub)

✧˖°. 𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐱 | 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐚 .°˖✧
ajax is into anything that involves a hunter vs hunted, predator vs prey type vibe. it feels like a bit of a game to him, and it affords him those addictive thrill of the chase, bliss of the catch highs he craves so much. the sheer, potent power that surges through his veins, thick and dense and tingling, when he finally captures you, conquers you, when he finally wins, is downright intoxicating. it heightens his senses, gnaws on every nerve in his body until they’re frayed and raw and hypersensitive, keeping him awake and alert to every slight movement and shift.
he loves reenacting any version of little red riding hood versus the big bad wolf, enjoys stretching a scene out and playing a waiting game; slow and steady, cat and mouse, stealth and stalk until he strikes. the startled scream that claws its way up your throat the moment he finally pounces is always genuine—a pitchy, cracked, shrill little thing strangled by his teeth in your neck or his tongue down your throat—never exactly sure when he’s going to lunge and attack.
and, god, he’s sure he’ll never tire of that initial terror saturating your features, a gorgeous shock of fright slapped across your face—eyes wide, mouth gaped, shattered remnants of words trembling on your tongue and a gasp lacerating your throat—that morphs, mollifies, only a few moments later, into a sort of delirious anticipation as realization rings in your brain.
that look never fades, never dims or dulls for even a second, as you pretend cry and scream and shove and kick, as you squirm and struggle in the tangle of his strong arms and beat little fists against his broad chest, as you tug and heave at the restraints bounding you to your shared bed, rope and metal chewing into the thin, delicate flesh of your wrists.
it doesn’t break the immersion, though, doesn’t ruin the scene or deaden the enthusiasm, because it only demonstrates that you’re enjoying it just as much as he is—the usual narrative he likes to play to himself throughout this scenario—only further works to prove that you want it just as badly as he does, no matter what whimpered protests and weeped out insults are spilling from your lips. because it exists within you; something innate, something inherent, a instinctive need to be taken care of, owned, controlled by your captor.
and throughout it all, his eyes are alight with excitement, bright and brilliant and beautifully blue, a breathless smile, sharp edges tinged with exhilaration, stretched over his cheeks while an aura of authority swathes his form; a regal cloak that glows violet, barely contained raw energy that snarls and snaps like bolts of amethyst lightning, shuddering off of him in wavering ripples.
✧˖°. 𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐭𝐨 .°˖✧
ayato likes playing mind games (to him, that’s half the fun!) and he likes being in control. when it comes to roleplays, he’d be most interested in the classic, golden age hollywood star x their devoted fan, where he is the star and you are the fan. however, instead of the fan pursuing the object of their affection, obsessive and urgent in nature, ayato flips this on its head, with the hollywood star taking advantage of the shy, smitten fan. he loves the corrupt, disgusting essence of it—the sleaziness, the coercion, the inherent and irrevocable power imbalance exerted over the bashful, helpless submissive—it’s all so deliciously depraved, and there are so many ways he can contort and coil this situation to suit and serve his needs.
it works well, because you are already so timid, so sweet, so docile and doe-eyed and desperate to please, constantly and consistently hanging on his every word, flowing from his lips like dark, decadent chocolate; smooth and rich and sinful. they’re sentiments that have your mouth dropping open eagerly, tongue unfurling—sloppy and messy in its haste—to let the letters drizzle on your tastebuds, a satiny syrup that coats the muscle, thick and sticky and so sweet it stings your teeth, depositing trace notes of a bitter twinge characteristic of artificial sugar that linger long after the confection has faded.
the amount of effort he puts into your roleplay sessions is nothing short of admirable, and he takes the whole thing very seriously. in his trademark meticulous and dedicated style, he plans every single detail, assembling full costumes (with props, of course) for the both of you, in addition to taking the time to hash out the entire situation with you, complete with a full narrative: where and how the two of you met, and how he managed to get access to you. past scenarios include at the premiere for one of his newest films; through previously exchanged fan letters and love notes that grew with startling frequency, length and intensity until he just had to meet you; you being a screenwriter or a PA on set who just so happens to have a huge crush on the lead actor—the variations on this one dynamic are endless! ayato isn’t beyond renting out actual locations for the two of you to conduct your roleplay scenes in, too—old movie houses and extravagant ballrooms and expensive hotel suites—because every aspect must be absolutely perfect.
✧˖°. 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚 .°˖✧
i honestly don’t think thoma would be too into roleplaying himself/on his own, but as a service dom i think he’d absolutely give it a shot for you, because he genuinely wants to please you, wants you to have a good time and enjoy yourself, wants to indulge you in all of your fantasies and desires, and he gets satisfaction and gratification from giving you what you want. with that being said, his favourite roleplay would probably be royalty x servant, where you are the royalty and he is your loyal but depraved servant. the scene would always begin, predictably, with you in a position of authority and dominance and thoma doing whatever you ask—you’re so cute when he gives you permission to be the boss—but it would quickly devolve as hazy, intoxicating lust compels your sweet, obedient servant, cloaking his judgement and clouding his vision and consuming his receptors. it overrides his rational thought, infects his bones, his blood, his brain until there’s barely any of him left anymore, entirely absorbed by the carnality, possessed and out of control. and, like ajax, he always savours that sweet, surprised little gasp huffed into his mouth when he’s finally had enough, when he can’t take it anymore, when he must fucking do something about it.
but what thoma really loves in this scenario is the progression, the way that hedonistic tension builds and builds and builds with each order uttered from your lips until it’s overbearing, overwhelming, overflowing; until it forces a switch, a flip, corroding any trusses of restraint and then devouring his character whole, rendering him a complete slave to his desire. the details are different every time—what the final request is that makes him truly snap, how long he can manage to hold out, how he fractures and splinters under the weight of his ardour and how he ravishes you in response, etc—entirely dependant on the evolution of the scene itself and thoma’s mood on that current day. it’s this unpredictability that makes it truly enthralling, the unknowing and the uncertainty of how it’s all going to play out this time that genuinely enraptures him, that sparks a certain type of voracity in his tummy, a gnawing, enthusiastic curiosity that can never fully be quenched.
✧˖°. 𝐚𝐥𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐦 .°˖✧
alhaitham is into pretty much anything that has to do with the misuse and abuse of authority. his favourite is, of course, professor x student, but he’s also interested in police officer x convict, boss x employee/secretary, and doctor x nurse—anything that involves an inherent position of power is being taken advantage of, anything that involves an intrinsic and permanent power imbalance being twisted and tooled to the superior’s benefit. roleplay situations such as these allow for infinite creativity and demand a certain level of intelligence, of cleverness, in order to be pulled off properly and satisfactorily.
it’s his favourite when you get snarky with him, saucy and snappy and resistant to his demands, challenging the limits and boundaries of this power dynamic and gifting him sufficient reason to punish, to exert that power and authority and (temporarily) tame his brat back into their rightful submissive place. props are a must with alhaitham, and he enjoys using them to deliver this punishment and/or to restrain you—metersticks, heavy books, and canes that double as batons used to spank you, each procuring a mosaic of interesting swollen marks on your ass; wooden tongue depressors used to flick and slap your nipples and your cheeks, leaving thick, cylinder shaped welts across your flesh; metal handcuffs and expensive silk neckties used to bound and bind you, cutting into the skin of your wrists and creating the prettiest bracelets of sticky scarlet, steadily oozing from thin splices, that will crust and dry in tiny mountains of ruby.

SEMI-FINALS! MATCH 1 OUT OF 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda Under the Cut:
Red Hood:
she’s red riding hood but CYBERPUNK. and she’s part of the REBELLION. she’s can hack MILITARY tech in a matter of moments. she uses her WOLF VIRUS to hack into CROWN VEHICLES and RIDE THEM INTO BATTLE. she REPURPOSED a GOVERNMENT VIRUS into a weapon to HURT THEM. her GRANDMOTHER was killed by the corrupt government virus that she has since TAMED and uses it AGAINST them. her fiction (this is canon!): https://themechanisms.com/fiction/what-big-eyes/
mechs fans need a win methinks. my mutual told me to go submit red but i also have very strong opinions on her because this entire album makes me insane. red started as a young 12 year old hacker who eventually put her skills to the test when a government-made computer virus (called the wolf virus) went rogue and unplugged her grandmother from life support. (the wolf virus was initially intended to figure out what wasn’t necessary for the war and divert power to weapons instead. it went rogue and started going after people who would never be able to help the war [ie disabled and elderly]). so red FOUGHT IT OFF ON HER OWN and TAMED IT. so then she essentially had a weapon designed to take down crown weapons and vehicles. so she joined the war effort and fought for brutal 30 years. it’s unclear whether she survived the final battle, but i think she deserves to take the win. also. she’s in space. she’s cyberpunk. she’s part of a retold fairytale cast BUT IN A COSMIC WAR. it’s like if star wars was actually good.
Cerise Hood:
She’s the child of the red riding hood and the big bad wolf. Don’t question it to okay. Also she was the first character I thought of when I saw this!
She’s the daughter of red riding hood and the big bad wolf! She’s a werewolf!
Love her design very much. She gets a lot of great outfits. Also, another version of Red Riding Hood that incorporates both the girl and the wolf together.
1: ever after high was iconic and amazing and so well written and i'm really bitter that it was cancelled so i think cerise deserves this win (i do too) 2: her design is really good. like no one else could EVER if you ask me 3: wolf girl. do i NEED to say more. ...honestly, my brain cannot bring out any more words so fingers crossed someone else submits her and she gets some ACTUAL GOOD propaganda (sorry cerise forgive me)
She’s a badass red riding hood with a secret (her dad is the big bad wolf)
She's the daughter of Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, so she has wolf ears and is really strong. She's supposed to be the next Red Riding Hood so she should count.
She's the daughter of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf making her a daughter of forbidden love and thus a double representation of Little Red Riding Hood's age-old story of maturity and adolescence.
She's really cool! She was born from a forbidden romance between the wolf (don't worry he turns into a human lmao) and Little Red Riding Hood and has to hide her heritage from other people which I think is really interesting. Also her hood is really pretty.
She's the daughter of red riding hood and is meant to take over that role when it's her time
she slays so hard!! while technically shes not THE little red riding hood, she is her daughter and the FUTURE little red riding hood. shes also half wolf, which is really cool!! and yea. she slays.
idk she’s just cool & definitely gay
She’s meant to be the next Red Riding Hood but her whole bit is that not only is her mom Red Riding Hood, her father is the Big Bad Wolf and she needs to keep it a secret. The best of both worlds. The tween girls went crazy for the wolf thing. Had a pretty doll and cool outfits. Has an older sister who’s meant to be the next Big Bad Wolf (Ramona Badwolf) who she comes into conflict with. Identity crisis! She was everything to eleven year old me
She’s half wolf, she has cool white streaks in her hair, she’s a jock with super speed and I like her a lot.
she turned me lesbian.
Fan favourite, my first lesbian crush on a character
She is a daughter of previous Little Red Riding Hood and Big Bad Wolf, how cool is that
She’s a furry yeuwu
she’s the daughter of red riding hood and the big bad wolf. she’s a wolf girl. i love her

I have to confess that I don’t usually pay attention to the colours when I am watching any series. But I thought that it was interesting that while Ai Di was wearing Little Red Riding Hood’s costume Chen Yi was in a gray top and also otherwise was somehow very ‘wolfish’ with teeth-baring smile. He looked like he was ready to devour poor Ai Di.
ANON! You opened a flood gate!
Fun-ish Fact - In Taiwan where Kiseki: Dear to Me comes from, there was a group within the feminist movement in the 80s and 90s called the Little Red Riding Hoods. Their purpose was to call out the "wolves" and bring awareness to sexual harassment. There are several other academic reads on this subject but most are behind paywalls (boo!).
The story of "Little Red Riding Hood" is very symbolic of sexual development and aggression plus a ton of other stuff, so whenever Little Red Riding Hood pops up somewhere, I think "this is the work of a feminist!"
So I was THRILLED when I saw Eddie was our sinful yet sexually maturing protagonist while Bai Zong Yi played the dangerous and transformative antagonist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Many people's qualms with the couples is the age difference since it's anywhere from five to eight years difference (17 vs. 22?) which would paint Fan Ze Rui as the predator, yet Bai Zong Yi was the one who confessed his feelings first and initiated the intimacy between them.
Then, like you mentioned, there is Eddie, in his bright passionate red running back to Chen Yi who must rescue him from the gang of men trying to hold him back.
Tumblr media
But let's rewind! Eddie made fun of Chen Yi for being a virgin and unable to confess his feelings to his boss
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but Chen Yi haphazardly responded if Eddie was possible of teaching him . . .
Tumblr media
Then quickly dismissed the notion since Eddie is "too young to know it"
Tumblr media
This pissed off Eddie, so he hit at the true heart of this discussion - Chen Yi's sexual prowess.
Tumblr media
And that caused Chen Yi, who was too drunk to stand on his own let alone walk, to jump up and attack Eddie.
Tumblr media
And it escalated in Chen Yi sexually assaulting Eddie (non-consensual kisses are a form of sexual assault)
Tumblr media
Eddie fought back and ran away, leaving Chen Yi without any notice of where he was going or how long he would be gone, yet Eddie runs back to Chen Yi only to have to be rescued by him.
And Chen Yi smiled about it.
Tumblr media
In earlier tellings of "Little Red Riding Hood" before the Grimm Brothers' version, she rescued herself from the wolf. There was no hunter. So in a story that represents the dangers of sexually awakening and desire, having the lead save herself from the sexual predator is pretty powerful especially because it requires her to face her assaulter.
Tumblr media
Chen Yi isn't a horrible person, but if we apply the wolf character to him, the wolf attacked as a form of sexual dominance. Red Riding Hood is in the unknown forest, but the wolf knows the exact layout. The dark scary (sexual) unknown is his territory, so Chen Yi needed to prove to Eddie he wasn't impotent. He normally doesn't prey on Eddie who is younger and, if his questioning was intentional, is also sexually inexperienced. In fact, he rescues Eddie, several times. And he prefers Eddie to not appear as someone who needs rescuing.
Tumblr media
Yet Eddie is the one who suggests to Chen Yi to be a predator. Interestingly enough, in a similar color scheme, Eddie in red tells Chen Yi in darker blue, to knock their boss/father out and take him (assault him).
Tumblr media
Eddie goes a step further noting that Chen Yi is too weak (double speak for impotent) to knock him out; therefore, he will have to prey on him when he is older and weaker because only then will Chen Yi will be stronger (experienced), which is the reason the wolf eats the grandma first since she won't fight back.
Tumblr media
To which Chen Yi responds by telling Eddie to "grow up"
Tumblr media
All of this rambling is simply to say that out of all the fairy tales to incorporate within the show, the one about maturity, sexual acts, and consent was the one used, especially when Eddie willingly volunteered to be Little Red Riding Hood who must grow up, deal with his conflicting sexual autonomy, and understand responsible ways to act on his desires.
Because suggesting Chen Yi attack someone deemed weaker did not work out well for either of them.

Completely random, but who even is XTale Red??? I keep seeing them mentioned from time to time and my first thought goes to the little red riding hood looking girl from that fan battle ages ago, but idk what she would have to do with xTale?? And I doubt it's Underfell's Red xD (sorry to ask you of this but looking it up on Tumblr did nothing)
You're not wrong! (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)☆ Red is indeed that girl from Undertale: Red, and Xtale!Red is a non-canon version of her in this AU <3

it's so weird to me that Big and will be bad wolf isn't more popular Like he seems like the perfect thing for this site He's a big bipedal wolf monster who represents every version of the big bad wolf who is pretending to embrace it but in reality hates his fate to be a villain He wants friends and connection more then anything but believes it to be impossible because that's not how the stories go! the big bad wolf is supposed to end up hungry, alone and punished simply for trying to eat and he very clearly feels guilty whenever he does successfully eat someone he's such an interesting character on his own with lot's of potential but he's usually secluded to playing second fiddle to Little red riding hooded merc, who has plenty of fan content of her outside of the wolf but the wolf himself barely gets anything despite being such an interesting character with a lot of potential for fan content

Im going through all the dogs in my head and yeah it all lines up pretty well-
First of all, Neotony is defined as "retention of some larval or immature characters in adulthood" it is also known as juvenilization because the idea is that these traits are only seen in juvenile members of the species. Humans can experience neotony but we specifically bred dogs to have neotenized traits. Second: Not a biologist...at all! Just some guy who knows too many animal facts! Plus I'm using this concept in loose metaphorical terms. Neotony is usually connected to physical traits but it does show up mentally in ways such as decreased aggression.
Anyways the Big Ones:
Haruka: ...Okay do I need to explain this one? Haruka both wants to return back to being a "child" where he was loved and cared for and hates the "weak" parts of himself. When he killed dogs he, in the process, destroyed the idea that he could "be a child again."
(Note: Haruka also kills a Cat which...Cat=Sin fans we stay Winning!) John: John is a "dog's name" and has refereed to himself as a "newborn" and wishes he wasn't "born" Once again connecting being a dog to being a "child," plus there's also the children noises in Double.
(Note: Tsuwmya has covered over Here ideas of age and maturity in relation to milgram characters and for Mikoto she put them down as "an adult that wants to become an adult" talking about how he has a lack of control in his life and even though he wants to be an adult and taken seriously by the people around him, he isn't. Go read the post its good) Kotoko: Notably Kotoko has Wolves and not Dogs, the non-domesticated, non-juvenilized version of dogs. However Kotoko herself has a lot of child-related imagery and concepts. Her name is written with the kanji for "child" she has a connection to Little Red Riding Hood and tells Amane that she was "the way she is now by her age" not growing or changing past being twelve. Tsuwmya's post actually covers it really well how she's an child stuck as an adult forced to be a child.
Other various details: Amane (I GOT HER IN!) has a dog Magic.
Tumblr media
Notably unlike the cream cat (which is collared) and Her Cat (which well...dies and is also a representation of her and her sin) the bunny and the dog are uncollared (domesticated without the need of something to control them)
Magic is notably child-like in it's art direction too.
Mahiru:
Tumblr media
Admittedly this one alluded me but Tsuwmya's post strikes again! Mahiru is an adult stuck as a child! The dog isn't too relevant to her but ay it works with my point! Would also like to mention the line that goes over here is:
We fought sometimes, I was happy to get hurt
So that's interesting.
Kazui: Family dog that is At His Parents House. Kazui has a notably bad relationship with his family and doesn't want to be an adult and deal with adult responsibilities. Yet he doesn't Really want to be a child because that means doing what his Parents want him to do and having the pressure on him.
Note again: We caused the Neotony in dogs! Each character's "childishness" can be traced back to something. Haruka was neglcted and abused, Mikoto is overworked and disrespected, Kotoko presumably had something in her past, Amane...I will talk forever if I say hers so I wont, Mahiru was sheltered, Kazui is trapped in the pressures of society.
So yeah...I think someone on the Milgram team must Really like Animals.

Specifically for @lydiavalentino. This is the cast list that accompanies my Schmigadoon! Season Three pitch. I’ll include actors, character names and character descriptions so that you can get an idea of what I’m going for :).
Cecily Strong - Melissa Gimble:
Melissa is the same as she always is, kind, funny, a big fan of musicals, but the stress of parenting two hyperactive twins is starting to wear her out, and she’s less willing to join in with Schmigadoon shenanigans than usual, and she may yell at this season’s leprechaun when he eventually appears for putting her children in danger. Also, is a forbidden romance with a stranger who’s not so unfamiliar in the cards? Melissa is faithful to Josh, but old lovers and crushes have a certain way of getting to you…
Keegan-Micheal Key - Josh Skinner:
Again, Josh is the same as he always is, except he too is stressed out by raising twins and his teaching position, and he’s developed a much stronger interest in musicals that he, along with his wife, tries to pass down to his children. In my hypothetical third season, his reaction to the newest version of Schmigadoon (the ‘Schmoods’ and surrounding French district) is a lot like Melissa’s reaction to Schmigadoon in Season One, because this is the period of musicals he is most familiar with and he gets so excited whenever he spots a reference. Is he a cool dad? Well… he certainly has a thing or two to learn from a few Schmigadoonians, but he and his kids get along great (even if he is a little overprotective at times).
Dove Cameron - The Princess:
That isn’t a placeholder. That’s the character’s name. Think of Rapunzel from Into The Woods, but combine her with Cosette from Les Mis and Christine from Phantom of the Opera. She’s your typical ingenue at the start of the season, sheltered from the world by her adoptive mother (we’ll get to her) and dreaming of romance. But as the season progresses, she (with a little encouragement from Melissa) begins to break out of her shell and pursue romance with mysterious French Schmigadoonians (oh, the scandal of it all!).
Aaron Tveit - The Prince:
The Prince is a more villainous character, he falls in love with The Princess and is convinced that they are destined to be together (think of the two princes from Into The Woods with Marius from Les Mis levels of pining) and refuses to take no for an answer. This would be a sort of dark reimagining of Jenny and Topher’s romance from Season Two, and Melissa would point this out at one point (but nobody sees the comparison except for her). Does he find romance by the end? Perhaps, but that is yet to be decided.
Alan Cumming - The Wolf:
As you can see, a lot of character names are symbolic (a lot like Into The Woods). At the beginning of the season, Josh and Melissa are convinced that he’s the one who lured their children away (hey, they’ve seen Into The Woods and The Wolf looks VERY similar to the wolf that ate Little Red Riding Hood in that musical, they don’t want to take chances) but it’s a red herring, and the ‘sneaking around’ they catch him doing is merely to provide for his pup, Clawsette (Little Cosette from Les Mis, slightly inspired by the SNL Diner Lobster Sketch with the lobsters in terms of naming). His character will help to teach lessons about parenting to Josh and Melissa via a song, and the character may be French, with subtle references to Duly Blight and Mayor Menlove because of course there will be.
Kristen Chenoweth - The Witch:
What can I say? She’s the witch from Into The Woods, I just wanted to allow Dove Cameron and Kristen Chenoweth to play mother and daughter again. She would also teach Josh and Melissa about parenting in a VERY Children Will Listen inspired song.
Jane Krakowski: Leader:
Leader of the troupe of children that lures Josh and Melissa’s twins into the woods. She’s seemingly kind at first (she’s inspired by the Narrator from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat after all) but she soon reveals a sinister dark side reminiscent of Bill Sykes from Oliver, and she makes the children under her employ carry out her dirty work (crime such as theft).
Patrick Page - The Narrator:
The Narrator from Into The Woods, but more sinister. There’s a running gag where Josh and Melissa (big Into The Woods fans) continuously try to sacrifice him to whatever monster or rival is onscreen, thinking that that will help them to ‘reclaim their own stories’ like it did for the characters in Into The Woods. He gets more songs that show off his awesome deep voice, and he isn’t employed by the leprechauns. He’s their father. That would extend the parenting theme I’m trying to build and show the sometimes strained relationships between parents and children.
Martin Short - All Three Leprechauns:
He’s back as the leprechauns! This season’s new addition is Johnathan, a very Rent inspired character who may have a striped scarf. And yes, he would have a line paying homage to that show, such as ‘sorry my land isn’t as flashy as my brothers’, I’m struggling to pay rent’. It’s stupid, I know, but it brings me joy.
Tituss Burgess - Unsure:
I want him to be in this, but I’m not sure HOW. He’s a phenomenal actor though, so I want him to at least have a cameo as a French villager (Ratatouille the Musical, anyone?).
Fred Armisen - Unsure:
He’s in the same boat as Tituss for me, but I would perhaps cast him as Alan Cumming’s character’s ‘mate’ or something so that Layton x Menlove could live on in a way.
Ann Harada - Leader of the Rats:
Somebody had to do it. She’s basically Grizzabella from Cats as a rat, and when the characters help out in the final episode, she leads the charge. This is no slight against Ann Harada, she’s great, but I thought it would be fun if she could have a song (or a brief snippet of a song that keeps getting cut off as a running gag similar to ‘I’ll drink to that’ lady from last season) inspired by Memory from Cats.
Jaime Camil - The Phantom:
No prizes for guessing which 1980s musical inspired this character. Melissa has a big crush on the Phantom of the Opera, and she may have a brief romance with this character (Baker’s Wife from Into The Woods all over again) but she gets over herself and sets him up with The Princess, seeing her as a version of Christine, and that it would be the ultimate fan service to set the two up together in order to ‘fix the ending’ of Phantom.
Ariana Debose - Francine:
Fantine from Les Mis, but she doesn’t die. And she has a son unlike Fantine. (Mason, played by the boy who played Carson in Season One). She helps to teach parenting lessons due to her dedication to her son. By the end of the season, she may have a romance with The Princess, but I’m currently undecided.
The Twins - Casting Unclear:
The twins are about nine or ten, and they’re scrappy and adventurous. They love musicals like their parents, but because this is their coming of age story (Into The Woods, remember) they will go from naive to wise by the end of the season, after overthrowing a powerful dictator, of course…

All fairytale fans heard about or know about the ATU, the Aarne-Thompson-Uther classification, this international classification of folktales and fairytales in numbered types.
But do you know that there are other fairytale classifications? Local fairytale classifications? And since I am French let me present you...
The Delarue-Tenèze classification. Also known as "Le Conte populaire français" (The French Folktales), of its complete title "Catalogue raisonné des versions de France et des pays de langue française d'outremer" (Reasoned catalogue of the versions of France and French-speaking oversea countries).
This book/classification, created by Paul Delarue and Marie-Louise Tenèze, and published in five volumes between 1957 and 2000, is a study of folkloric fairytales inspired by the ATU, which it heavily borrows from and frequently references. However, the Delarue-Tenèze classification is an exclusively French system. That is to say all the folktales and fairytales studied there are originating from France, or present in countries that inherited some of French culture. The complete list of countries is: "France, Canada, Louisiana, French islands of the USA, French West Indies, Haïti, Maurice island, La Réunion". By studying, comparing and classifying the French-speaking (or French-written) fairytales of these various areas, Delarue and Tenèze managed to create a complete study of the history and evolution of essentially French fairytales, excluding all the types of stories that are typically not found on French-speaking lands.
It was thanks to the work of Delarue and Tenèze that we notably can reconstruct what the fairytales of Perrault, for example, ORIGINALLY looked like before the author took them back and rerote them. I evoked this during my Little Red Riding Hood posts (I think it was in the one titled "The dark roots"). Delarue and Tenèze, by accumulating all the French variants of the fairytale they could find, separating those that clearly were post-Perrault (they had elements newly introduced by the author) to those prior to Perrault (or at least not "contaminated" by their written cousin), and looking at the geographical repartition of these tales, they could identify which elements exactly Perrault cut out of his tale (the wolf serving meat and wine to the girl, the removing of clothes in the fire, the cat cursing under the table...) and thus re-create what the fairytale would have originally looked like.
In this extent, this work is deeply needed for whoever wants to study fairytales in France or the French folklore. Unfortunately, after two "complete editions" gathering all the volumes in 1997 and 2002, the publishing house of the catalogue fell on hard times, and closed in 2011. Since this date, the catalogue is out of print, and you can only access it by having second-hand copies or borrowing it at libraries.
However - and I just learned of this today upon looking at my references - the work of Delarue and Tenèze (both unfortunately deceased) is still continued today, or rather was taken back by a group of anthropological studies of Toulouse, who are preparing three more volumes to add to the original catalogue.
If you are interested in what each volume contains:
Volume 1 and 2 cover the "contes merveilleux" (marvelous tales/magical tales - aka the fairytales as we understand them today).
Volume 3 is about the "Animal tales", mixing animal-featuring fairytales, Reynard the Fox-type of stories, and other moral and fables inherited by popular culture from La Fontaine, Aesop and more.
Volume 4 is about the "Religious tales", aka all the French folktales, fairytales and local legends that show France's folk-Christianity, mixing the heavily Christian (Catholic-flavored) culture of France, "first daughter of the Church", with the countryside legends and tales of witches, wizards, fairies, giants and other ogres, turned into demons, saints, angels and Virgin Maries.
Volume 5 is the "conte-nouvelle" (the "short story-tales"), basically folktales that are realistic sounding and just sound like non-magical, non-religious life stories or local legends.

Silly Game Time: Are you fan of the fantasy genre? If so, what's a fantasy story (movie, show, book, game, etc.) you really like, and why?
Ohhhhh BOY-!
I like so much fantasy media I wouldn't know where to start, so I'll talk about the things I saw last or current hyperfixations.
Movie: I rewatched many LAIKA movies recently! Namely, Coraline, Kubo and the two Strings, ParaNorman and Boxtrolls.
I've also been meaning to (re)watch Princess Mononoke with my SO @tigerdepths and at my Monster Hunter Stories server, I proposed watching either MH movies, the anime, or The Sea Beast.
We also watched How To Train Your Dragon last month.
Show: Aside Monster Hunter: Ride On, I've got that magical girl brainrot right now. I watched Wonder Egg Priority yesterday with tigerdepths and have been thinking a lot about Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Book: rhvdthfgj ok- first of all: I'm weak, so don't judge me. I totally was re-reading Final Fantasy Type-0 novelization 😭 aside that, also I've been re-reading many short fairytales (Peacock Princess, like 3 different versions of Little Red Riding Hood, Little Mermaid because I'm so weak for that one for whatever reason and I cry everytime), also been reading folk tales (mostly Celtic, from China, Mexico and Japan).
Game: Must I say I've got that Final Fantasy brainrot right now? Also Monster Hunter brain rot and now due the latest Nintendo Direct I have to add my Rune Factory brain rot too! Wooh!
Now as of why's: many of these could be summarised in "I really, really like big fantasy monsters and how they affect the surroundings", and "I'm a sucker for love stories" (note: not necessarily romantic love, I love Long Mu's legend and that's 100% familiar love but also fits under "I like big lizards" category, and I'm counting unique, unconventional friendships as love too)- that said, I also love romantic love, I love BL/GL and I'll die on that hill and I shamelessly am re-reading Type-0's novel to quench my shipper needs on these barren shipping lands (also, I kinda eyed about the Book of Bill too but I wouldn't say I read it, thus, it's not on the list but Gosh- I'm so brainrotting about parapines too).

Hello everybody! Today I wanted to show you my version of the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood"!
I thought about this idea back in 2020. I had a lot of versions of character drawing. And finally I liked the result!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let me tell you about them!
Lolita: a girl of twelve years old. I gave her the name Lolita in honor of my favorite book, Lolita. She is an inquisitive and brave child! She is at the stage of growing up, so some things seem different to her. Her favorite animal is a wolf. She's the kind of person who reads or writes fan fiction. In his spare time, he prefers to look at the fish in the local streams.
Robert: A young hunter. He is sixteen years old. He lives in the forest with his father, not far from the village where Lolita lives. He often grumbles and does not like children. For Lolita, he is like a younger brother, although he is older than her. He carries gun cartridges with him just in case. In his spare time he reads books about hunting.
Mr. Wolf: A tall man with wolf ears and a tail. In fact, he looks different, but that's how Lolita sees him. He lives in the woods near Robert's house. He doesn't hunt people, but he likes to tease them. He would never be able to hurt people and especially children. He prefers to eat hares. For Lolita, he is a friend despite the fact that he is always trying to scare her. In his spare time, he sleeps in the meadow or watches random people.
Mother: Lolita's mother. She has a name, but I prefer not to tell you about it anytime soon. She often smokes to suppress stress. She's not a very good mother, but she's trying to protect Lolita. For Lolita, she doesn't mean much because they don't see each other often, besides, Lolita has forgotten what color her eyes are. She HATES wolves. She has a scar on her chest because of a wolf she met when she was nineteen. She is now thirty-three years old. She divorced her husband a long time ago. She doesn't have a very good relationship with her mother. In his spare time, he prefers to bake pies with Lolita
Grandmother: Lolita's grandmother. I also prefer not to tell you her name now. She lives in a cottage in the woods away from the village. Unlike the others, for Lolita, she is the most important person in the world, although she also does not remember the color of her eyes. Grandma often lies in bed and does not leave the house. Her husband died of old age. In her free time, she likes to sew sweaters for Lolita.
Also: Lolita has an older brother who was also hurt by a wolf. His leg is injured. He moved to London a long time ago. In my version of the fairy tale there is a character "Narrator", but I will tell you about him later

ROUND 2! MATCH 4 OUT OF 8
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda Under the Cut:
Cerise:
She is a daughter of previous Little Red Riding Hood and Big Bad Wolf, how cool is that
She’s a furry yeuwu
she’s the daughter of red riding hood and the big bad wolf. she’s a wolf girl. i love her
Scarlet:
Her big bad wolf is her mutant soldier boyfriend. She shot him once and honestly he was into it. Probably bi. Helped start a revolution.
Her wolf is actually. Um. A genetically modified soldier with wolf traits. At the beginning its not very obvious but by the end of the series yeah she's. She's a monsterfucker. Anyway that's not really relevant but I just think she's pretty cool (not because she's a monsterfucker)
She's a french farmgirl and a pilot who ends up in a plot to overthrow the queen of the moon. The big bad wolf is a genetically-altered soldier that she falls in love with. She's short-tempered, straightforward, and fiercely loyal.
"Grown up" Fairy Tales are a lot of fun. this one is also a cool mix of LRRH and BatB. She can totally take care of herself and her wolves are in for quite a story.
She’s a badass?
her family runs a restaurant and she’s friends with a furry
she's french. she's loud. she falls in love with the wolf (a guy named wolf who is genetically modified somehow). she sells tomatoes and gets in fights and just wants to find her grandmother. she is literally the little red riding hood character in a series of books retelling fairy tales in an alternate universe in space and I love her
she has a gun and she’s pretty cool. sorry she’s french if it helps it’s like 500 years in the future france. also she’s bisexual (TO ME!!! no straight woman thinks the things she thought about winter aka the character based on snow white)

Persona 5 fans!! Here’s a games rec list for you.
(most of these games are FREE. most are on windows too so if you dont like gaming on pc then guess this isnt for you. Im planning to update this list when I remember more games.)
1. END ROLL by Segawa
This games tells the story of a young boy with no empathy. He is a murderer on the death row. See, the catch is that a group of scientists are studying people like him so he is forced to take part in a experiment where he needs to learn how to feel. If you liked Akechi’s story and you want to read a story with similar themes then you are going to love this game. It’s my most favorite game. You are going to laugh, smile and cry playing this game. And you are 100% going to fall in love with all of its characters. I don’t suggest playing this game if you are in a vulnerable state. Some characters have a shadow self. I’m not going to say who ;) Some characters have shitty dads. I’m not going to say who ;)
2. Alice Mare by Miwashiba  (its on steam too and its very cheap so if you want to support the creator then please buy it. its just 3 euros)
The protagonist of this game is a boy named Allen who has lost his memory. He lives in a orphanage with a bunch of kids that are clearly inspired by well known fairytales (Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood etc). This is a horror game so in fact they are inspired by the twisted version of these fairytales. The story is very surprising because you wouldn’t expect it to go the way it goes. The soundtrack is phenomenal and you can see the love put into this game. I suggest everyone to play this game with a open mind. It has a big cast with various lives and you have the chance to get to know them.
3. Dreaming Mary by accha
This game is soooo beautiful. I find it breathtaking for a pixel art game. The story is very dark and it has some disturbing sexual themes, but it’s nevertheless a important story to say. The game is about a young, very impressionable, girl. Mary loves to dream, but this time she has lost herself in her dreams. You, as the player, need to help her wake up. Her dream world is just like a Persona style palace. And we are the phantom thieves.

Comfort piece of media (movie, show, book, etc) and why?
Oooooh interesting ask!
All of my comfort medias have helped me get through different school levels.
I technically don’t have a comfort movie but my top 2 are
1.) The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep - the story of a little boy befriending the Loch Ness Monster, it’s super adorable
2.) Up - As sad as the opening of this movie is, I just love the story. Doug and Kevin are my favorite characters but special shout out to Russel and Carl.
My comfort tv shows:
1.) Once Upon A Time - I often call this show my “soulmate show” and I know a lot of people even the fans, criticize the writing, this show means so much to me. I was a huge Disney fan as a kid, so to see these characters in a more modern story got me intrigued. LITERALLY when I first saw the trailer in a MOVIE THEATER, I got chills. I was instantly drawn to the show and started it back in middle school. It got me through high school. It’s the show I turn to the most when I’m anxious or stressed.I know a lot of the episodes by heart and I’m not sorry about it. My biggest comfort character and OTP come from this series: Emma Swan, and Captain Swan. I felt like I related to Emma on a very personal level, even if I didn’t share every experience she had. This show taught me about hope and optimism even in the most difficult circumstances. It taught me that True Love isn’t just “love at first sight.” In fact, it gave me the standards I have for how a Significant Other should treat me (so I have a pretty high standard). I can listen to the OST of this show and remember the scenes some of the songs played over, I also end up tearing up because of it. I don’t think there will be another show (I’m sorry PJO tv show, I still love you) that will hold my heart (HA) and soul as much as OUAT will, even the cast themselves were special to me. I remember seeing their interactions and interviews in the San Diego Comic Cons as well as the bloopers on the dvd versions of the series and I felt like they were a little family. I will rewatch it a billion times and never get tired of it. The finale still makes me break down in tears. Other fave OTPs: Outlaw Queen, Snowing, Belle with literally any other character besides Rumple
2.) NBCs Grimm - Started this show the same time as OUAT, in middle school and it got me through high school. I don’t have a comfort character here but the characters DO mean a lot to me, especially Monroe, Nick, Rosalee, Juliette and Trouble. This show is the reason I became interested in the Gabriel Knight series (it has an overall similar story). I learned about folktale creatures I had never heard about before, like Krampus. It has a lot of references to other stories (Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Bears, Frankenstein are just a few I can think of) with their own twist on it, but was different than OUAT. They also included their own lore for the creatures in the world as well as the titled “Grimm”, which made me even more invested in the story. I remember crying when I first saw the finale. This show also has writing issues but, honestly tell me a series that DOESNT have imperfections. Favorite OTPs: Monrosalee, Silverhardt
3.) Lucifer - The idea that the Devil can be redeemed? *Chefs Kiss* I don’t watch this show on repeat as often because of.. personal family reasons. This show got me through high school into early college. But I felt myself relating to Lucifer (ironically), and one of the episodes where he forgives himself? THAT made me cry. Chloe, Ella, Trixie and Rory are some honorable mentions, plus the parallels between Deckerstar and Captain Swan? *another Chefs Kiss* Favorite OTPs: Deckerstar, MazikEve (is that their ship name?)
4.) The Percy Jackson series (Including the tv series as well as the books + the Heroes of Olympus) - Got me through middle school and into early high school. I was a huge Greek Mythology fan so having this modern take on the gods and goddesses was really cool. When I found out that the Heroes of Olympus was a CONTINUATION. I HAD to read it, (if only for my boy, Percy). I actually had a birthday where my cake had the Camp Half Blood logo on it and I got the “Blood of Olympus” as a birthday gift. With the release of the new tv show, my love for the series has rekindled, I’ll even try to read the new books. Comfort character: Percy Jackson. Favorite OTPs: Percabeth, Jason x Piper, Leo x Calypso, Grover x that one forest Nymph whose name I forgot
My comfort video games
1.) The Gabriel Knight series (specifically, The Beast Within) - My most current hyperfixation; yes, I know it’s a 30+ year old point and click adventure game. I was introduced to it by.. let’s say an old friend..because I really liked Grimm and he told me it was very similar. Low and Behold, it WAS. It got my through the pandemic as well as the rest of college. The stories of the first two games are, personally, my favorite. Although the series is very tragic and not at all the “happy endings” I was used to, I was still invested, particularly after my comfort character became Baron Friedrich von Glower (even AFTER I learned he dies 🥲yes, I cried here too) became SO salty invested that I started writing fan fic, drawing and even buying the games for myself to fill the void and continue my denial. I also related to him on a very personal level. I call this series, “The One I Used Necromancy On” because I (personally) feel like I rose it from the dead (ironically considering my comfort character) and I continue to find people who like the series or are just getting into it. Favorite OTPs: Angelwolf/Klower, Gknight and now Knightamura.
2.) Alices Warped Wonderland - I was introduced to this by the same.. old friend.. that introduced me to the Gabriel Knight series. As you can guess by the name, it is a retelling of Alice In Wonderland, except with a bit of horror and trauma added to the story and this version of Alice is Japanese! The story is VERY emotional, especially the sixth chapter and the endings, I even cried in one of the endings. Although I kinda related to Alice more, my comfort character became Cheshire Cat. Favorite OTP: None, I ship Cheshire and Alice platonically though.
3.) Night in The Woods - Got me though high school, but didn’t become a comfort media until early collage. As someone who struggles with anxiety and depression, this game hit close to home. The Existential Horror/ Cosmic Horror beautiful ties into the struggles of mental illness, and the acceptance of change. Comfort Character: Mae Borowski, who I related to personally mainly because of her struggles with mental illness (although not the same). This game (along with the Gabriel Knight series) has some of my favorite dialogue, ever. A few other interactions between the characters, as well as the ending made me cry (see a pattern?). Favorite OTPs: Greg x Angus (idk their ship name).
4.) The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask (SPECIFICALLY) - Even though I’m not the biggest LoZ fan, and I’ve only ever seen other people play this game, it still left an impact on me. How the whole story revolves around putting others happiness over yourself, even if it means doing it repeatedly to (seemingly) no avail. The fact that even after Skull Kid destroys Termania over and over again because he felt like his friends abandoned him and they forgive him and STILL consider him their friend? The true victory not just beating Majora, but saving and healing Termina and it’s people, including the Skull Kid? Chills. Goosebumps and tears EVERY TIME. Favorite Character: Skull Kid, this version of him SPECIFICALLY
Honorable Mentions:
- Criminal Case (mobile game)
- Undertale
- Super Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Origami King specifically
Thanks for the ask!

Heya saw you repost something about ouat I didn’t know you watch the show I am a big hook fan What you like about the show? (snow, charming and them are so boring huh? like that they support hook tho)
Hiya,
I only just recently watched Once Upon a Time for the first (second and third) time. And let me say, I am in love. It hits all my interests - literature appropriations, fairy tales, pretty boy actors who act with their eyes, Scotsmen and Irishmen and a cast who are friends outside of the show as well.
I love a story with good flashbacks and great transitions, and this show delivers. It also delivers on brilliantly appropriated fairy tales. This is the first time I've ever liked Snow White. I love that so many of the Red Riding Hood texts are engaged to create her character. There are so many beautiful and emotional storylines and interesting takes on characters. Any text where characterisation is favoured above plot is a win in my book and this show delivers in spades.
I will never get over how brilliant the casting is and how hard actors like Lana Parrilla worked to make the casting work in her favour. The choice of who plays a young version of Snow and Cora are exceptional. Robbie Kay is perfectly Peter Pan. The costumes are brilliant, especially Elsa's purple Frozen dress.
I love the parallels and callbacks in this show as well. They foreshadow and engage with information retrospectively brilliantly on Once. I love the extended family dynamics, the overall themes of hope and finding people, finding family.
I love Captain Hook too! I love his transformation from good to vengeful - for his brother, for Milah. I'm a sucker for anyone who can love that deeply, that loyally. And I love how hard he tries to return to the side of good, to disentangle the man from the legend of the fearsome pirate, and that while he may be a pirate he never completely lost his faith in "good form." (An episode I could discuss ad nauseum and not even for Captain Swan and Snowing feels but for the brotherhood of it all - that Hook and Charming are the replacements for the brother's they lost, that Hook lost and gained a brother to dreamshade, and that he was probably so scared that what happened to Liam would happen to David especially given that the last time the Jolly Roger flew he lost Liam in much the same way David is in peril). And that doesn't even broach the topic of how much I love Hook and Henry and their relationship over the course of the series. Or his relationship with Snow and how similar they are, how much she and Charming love him, both of which make me smile.
I do wish we had more information about Hook's backstory, in all honesty. Not just Hook, though, I suppose. It's probably the half-season storylines that mean we only get a snippet of the Darlings and Bae and a hug for a reunion but nothing more, a single moment of Tink being proud of Hook and Neal, that sort of thing, and I would have definitely loved more of that Neverland trio - especially because it was so important to Hook and Neal's characters. But then again, the old aphorism comes into play, "leave the audience wanting more."
I'm going to disagree with you on Snowing being boring, though. Although I can see why they may come across that way in the series that is so action-packed. But I don't think the action of domestic life is any less thrilling than the action of battle, and Snowing post-season four get a chance to have that settled down family life, "farm life" as Snow once called her dream for her future, after all the trials of tribulations they'd been through. There's a nobility in the simple life, of not being the cause or even part of the drama (much like Mondler, which is the way I would analogise this pairing given that those two get called "boring" or "uneventful" in much the same way despite living the domestic, quiet life) and Snow and Charming deserve a little bit of peace.
