wrt to the “adam shouldve been a visionary” dreamer trilogy/greywaren post i’ve seen a few times (possibly reblogged?)….well, maybe, but also no.

it’s not that i don’t have my own gripes with tdt (namely, yes, not enough adam), but i just…i can’t get behind visionary adam. not canon visionary, anyway.

like. you’re telling me ronan “the choice was death or hurting adam, which wasnt a choice at all” lynch would have handled it with ANY amount of grace if adam “i will be your hands. i will be your eyes” parrish was given the ultimatum “hurt others every time you have a vision and live, or turn the visions inward and quickly die horribly”??? no!!

and maybe in this alternate version of tdt that’s the whole point, yknow. if that’s what you want, ABSOLUTELY go ahead, dream on about it, write the fic, send it to me i’d love to see. etc etc etc

but the point of the dreamer trilogy is that it’s about ronan. so if we’re keeping with that vision (ha), and with the basic premise of the series, then no, i don’t think visionary adam is a good idea.

in all honesty i would keep call down the hawk essentially as it is bc i think it was good. it takes place during november, no? so potentially add in/exchange a shorter adam moment for thanksgiving break. he can help scry and figure out psychic things and be distrustful of bryde.

have winter break be during part of mister impossible. seriously where are adam’s school breaks lmao. adam is relentlessly practical and cares about ronan and he should be here to sow doubt and try to curb some of ronan’s more ecoterrorist tendencies. ronan can sneak around and hide from him and there can be tension and worry and anger. but also a lot of good pynch feelings still, ofc, bc its Them.

but don’t worry! they can still have a big fight/falling out over the ley lines/bryde/the ecoterrorism before adam leaves for school again. as silly as it is that ronan freaked out over an unread text when adam was literally napping, maybe this time it’s deliberate. or maybe adam really was napping again, or driving, or whatever. the rest of mister impossible can play out from there, or a condensed/reshuffled version of it to accommodate adam being there for a while.

greywaren can start the same, but for the love of god let ronan get out faster it is HIS BOOK. i do like henessey helping him do that i think its an important part of her character, and adam’s part in all that was very good and angsty so i wouldnt change it, but i would have it happen in the first half. ronan and adam make up and go off to do whatever was happening by the end of greywaren tbh i got confused. or something totally different! who knows.

also i just want to see adam interact with the actual visionaries and with carmen and henessey more and with bryde i think it would be very cool. very fun.

i also think gansey/blue/henry shouldve shown up literally ever at all but idk how they fit in so shh

do you have any advice for making gifs? i’ve become a fan of something that has barely any posts besides photos and for the first time ever a desire to make gifs came over me and honestly it’s kinda overwhelming so literally any tips would help, thank youuu

I do have a photoshop sideblog @creationsofthedark Whatever I write here is already reblogged there or posted, so you can check it out, just in case, I remember making a tutorial on how I make gifs, and tbh not really much changed since then. I know there are many ways to create gifs, however, I can speak only about the one I use.

Also suggest to check #photoshop tag on my blog, i might have answered some things about giffing process before that might be useful for you as well.

You need a device, program for screencaps and photoshop.

I use laptop, you can do the same on pc, if you have only ipad or phone then I would not be able to give any advice, I tried to create gifs on ipad, failed, so we are not gonna talk about it ever.

I use mpv for screencaps, thanks to amazing tutorial here that will help you to install mpv player and make screencaps from video.

You will also need photoshop, if you are not willing to pay for it, that's fine :D Not sure if it works, but here is a cracked version of ps you can check, or just google it, there will be lots of things you can get... for free. Yep, I am suggesting to pirate it lmao

So, once you have everything, make screencaps and here is the old tutorial to create gifs, back then i used kmplayer, but let's be honest that shit sucks recently and i am tired of it. So like for years I use mpv now.

I also was using cs5, cos my old laptop could not handle anything better, but newer versions are similar, so you will figure it out. Might as well do another tutorial, but not right now. You can also check some more photoshop blogs out there, they all have great tutorials on how to make gifs. Definitely better ones than my old one lol

And you will also find there lots of my psds, colorings that I used at some point and decided to put them there, they won't work on everything, but you might use them to learn how to color gifs yourself.

Do not be scared to experiment and do not give up if something does not turn out as good as you have it in mind, my first gifs are still out there and they suck, so yeah, you do it, you learn and you get better.

So I’ve started compiling a Google Drive to make an archive of all WHA official art (not the text of the work, of course) and today I received my set of the playing cards from one of the special editions! I’ve not even seen HQ copies of these without SAMPLE watermarks before but! I’ll be making copies of them & the rule book available after I scan them.

On that note - if anyone would be interested in translating some of the text (especially the “special rules”) let me know! The game itself is based on “Love Letter”, so most of the rule book is not high priority, but it throws in some rule-altering “special cards” that have the characters on them and alas... machine translation does not make their meaning very clear lmao. I can provide an explanation of how “Love Letter” works for context - it’s a nice simple game. From my understanding there’s also video showing how to play the game which I have in my bookmarks which is an extra resource available for translators if you can translate by ear!

I’d love to see all the text translated though so if you’ve not got much time or aren’t confident enough for rules translation, there’s plenty of flavour text which would be cool to have translated too! 

With permission, I’d like to be able to put these in the Google Drive when finished (with credit to translators in accompanying documents and as a watermark)! There’s no deadline on these, this is a very long-term project.

On the Drive itself: I won’t link the drive directly on Tumblr because I don’t want the link to be something I can’t take down if I need to (please don’t post publicly on tumblr either! and check the rules/disclaimer document), but I’ll post a link to the tweet I share it in in the reblogs/replies! (Further rambling below the cut)

It’s a WIP as I’m tracking down the original sources and context of various images & I’m trying to find untranslated versions where applicable (as some are from translation teams who may not want their work in the drive) - but I’m hoping that’ll also make the Drive a robust archive regardless of whether the work needs to be taken down at any point (e.g. copyright removal requests). Since so much of the extra content is on Twitter, it’s actually very easy to locate the sources and provide dates! And I’ll probably throw in some extra links like Shirahama inking or the anime announcement trailer too :)

On that note sldjfg I might ask for some help to scrub through old tweets from Shirahama at some point, or just grunt work copy/pasting links from some of her twitter moments that compile individual artwork. So far I’ve focused on “sets” that I have the information of (like magazine covers, chapter cover art, volume covers, countdowns and holiday art) since it’s easier to nail down dates or sources for those, but for the rest... it’s gonna be a slog pfff. So if you know how to use the advanced twitter search to comb through time frames, I might have a job for you in future lmao.

But!! General statement for this archive - it is meant to be an archive, so the focus is on documenting source, context, etc. Which means logging the original tweets and whether they’re any explanatory text attached is far more important that reuploading artwork - if the artwork is requested to come down, it will! Whether that’s a request from the copyright holders, or translators. So DO keep in mind the rules regarding reuploading or sharing the link to the drive - I really wanna keep this stuff of Pintrest lol, but also keeping the link to the drive private or easy to delete (so, not a direct link on tumblr) is a must innit.

This idea arose from thinking about Rayman dreaming of a reality where he made friends with a friendlier version of the Rabbids to cope with the Rabbid Kaiju destroying his home. It makes me kinda sad thinking about it. Once I can make animations, this is one I would definitely love to do.

wwdits tarot: justice

Just as a note, one of my non-wwdits posts is doing numbers right now and my notifications are a mess. Anyway, yeah! XI. Justice!

Before I really get into my choices here, I want to talk about the card. Justice is one of those cards that’s often misunderstood, not because it’s as complicated as a card like Death but because people often mix it up with Judgement.

Justice and Judgement both involve choices with lasting consequences, but other than that the cards are very different. Justice is a card about truth and consequences. It is a card that’s very concerned with getting to the bottom of things and, as I often say, it’s a card about your chickens coming home to roost.

Judgement, on the other hand, is a card about realizing your full potential. It’s about coming to a spiritual revelation about yourself and your life going forward and making choices about how you want to live the rest of your life.

So to put it another way, Justice is more about the choices you’ve already made in the past (though you’ll still have to choose how you want to deal with the consequences) and Judgement is about the choices you’ll make in the future. Both are important and might change the trajectory of your life, but each card deals with fairly different motivations.

I think some people think Judgement means “you will be judged” but that’s more Justice. Judgement is more about judgement as a synonym for discernment, I think, or perhaps judgement in the sense that you’re at your final curtain call and everything is about to come together one way or another.

Anyway, I’ll talk more about Judgement and who I’ve chosen for it later.

Guillermo it’s Guillermo

For now, let’s just focus on Justice.

To make matters even more confusing, I actually have two different Justice cards I’d like to discuss here. This isn’t because I was torn on who I’d choose from WWDITS TV for this card. I always knew I wanted that to be The Vampiric Council.

The problem was actually that my ideal Justice card comes from outside the WWDITS TV realm and I really want to stick to just the tv show for this deck. So the alternate version of the card will just be at the end as a fun little bonus.

(Can you guess who it’ll be? lmao)

ALL THAT OUT OF THE WAY, let’s talk about my official Justice, The Vampiric Council!

I’ve already talked a bit about what makes Justice Justice, but I’ll say it again. This card is about consequences, whether good or bad, for someone’s actions. It could be a person who hurt you, in which case you will see them punished for their actions. It could be you! Which could be a good thing or a bad one depending on how you’ve behaved.

It's a card that says that people are finally about to get exactly what they deserve for all that they've done — so you better hope you've done good.

Most of all, though, this card is about figuring out the truth. Not finding your truth (again, that’s Judgement) but finding the real and objective truth. This card is judge, jury, and executioner, and it will have all the facts before it makes its decision.

With all that in mind, I think the best representation of this in the tv show is The Vampiric Council. It’s where vampires go to be judged for their actions, whether good or ill. It’s where our vampires went when they’d been accused of murder, and it’s where they ended up after they were rewarded for uh. More murder.

It’s where we see them pass down their own brand of justice, too! Again, whether that’s Guillermo going on an accidental killing spree or allowing Gabby the Dreadfully Loathsome to change her name.

Now… I’ll admit to you that, while The Vampiric Council always strives to find the truth, they’re not always good at it. They never did figure out that the vampires weren’t responsible for Guillermo’s murders, at least not until after he went on to kill dozens of other vampires.

...also, The Baron isn’t dead, which is the crime they were charged with in the first place. So there’s that.

Actually, now that I think about it… They also charged someone else for Laszlo’s crime of turning the baby…

So maybe they’re just really bad at this…

General incompetence aside, though, they are still the mechanism that vampires have to pass down justice amongst their own kind. Their job is to find out the truth and help aggrieved parties get whatever outcome they deserve most.

So I guess this card is really more like XI. Justice (Hopefully). That may be the best we’re gonna get with this show.

Anyway. Imagery.

The important parts of this card are the sword and balance that Justice holds. The balance is a typical symbol of the justice system in general and here symbolizes a balanced decision. The sword, on the other hand, symbolizes the swift justice that will be meted out if necessary.

I would have the original leader of the Vampiric Council (that’s you, Tilda) sitting in this throne. She seems to be the highest ranking vampire of any of them, as opposed to the regional rankings that we see our vampires fall into later.

She would have her crown upon her head, maybe somewhat jauntily placed, and while she would have both her sword and balance, a slim ray of sunlight would be shining down before her. This is truly her most effective punishment, and what is always on the line when a vampire enters her chambers.

The pillars, which symbolize truth and justice (or sometimes strength), will be replaced with the pillars of the council chambers. While two pillars are seen here, I think there should be more on this card. This is partially because the chamber has so many and partially because — well, let’s just say that there’s a lot more than just truth and justice at play in the vampiric justice system.

Behind her, shadowy figures are clustered around in their hoods. This is the rest of the council, ready and waiting to pass judgement on those who have transgressed the vampiric moral code.

FINALLY, how about that alternate card?

For those who already know me, you won’t be surprised to hear that I want my beloved Wellington Paranormal on this card.

Officers O’Leary and Minogue are non-negotiable, but I’d be happiest if Parker and Sgt. Maaka could make appearances as well.

Look at my beautiful idiots posing with some zombie colleagues. Maaka and Parker are the plainclothes ones.

Officers O’Leary and Minogue first showed up in the WWDITS movie when they came to check on reports of, well, murder at the vampiric household in Wellington, New Zealand. They didn’t manage to ascertain the truth that night, but that hasn’t stopped them from trying to find it every night since then!

(They… still have a pretty bad track record. The members of Wellington PD seem to be even stupider than the vampires, and that is not an easy feat.)

Still, despite them being even more incompetent than The Vampiric Council, they’re just so well-meaning that I can’t help but want them to have this card. They care so deeply about the truth (especially Sgt. Maaka), justice (Officer O’Leary), hanging out with your best buds (Officer Parker), and lunch (Officer Minogue).

I think they really embody the spirit of this card, if not, perhaps, its intended effects.

Sgt. Maaka would be in the throne, of course, flanked on either side by O’Leary and Minogue as his pillars of strength and justice. And instead of the little shoe peeking out from beneath his robes (a symbol that Justice’s decision is always an outcome of the criminal’s own actions), Parker will be peeking out from behind the throne.

He does so want to be a part of things. And maybe if he just does okay on this next job, Sgt. Maaka will finally agree to be his roommate.

Fingers crossed, kid.

I have been noticing you’ve been reblogging some sambucky stuff! I am a sambucky fanatic and would LOVE to hear your thoughts on some stuffing content for them. Either chubby Bucky or Sam. I just feel like the taunting and teasing would be off the charts, given their dynamic.

Thanks for joining me on the dark side and coming off anon 😂 PLUS thank you for the asks in the past as well as this one, blogs are super hard to run without interaction from the people viewing them (but I totally get why most people don’t, the stuff on my blog aren’t super accepted/”normal” things to be into). I’m happy you enjoy my responses to those asks as well, that’s always a plus lmao

And yeah! There’s not a ton of sambucky belly kink stuff out there, not that I’ve found so whenever I do come across it, it’s wonderful! But with that being said, whenever I see a sam-ship (whether it’s sambucky or samsteve (since those are the two more popular sam ships)) it’s always chubby Bucky or chubby Steve so, just to add a new version into the little community we have…

Have some chubby Sam, he deserves some love too:

Sam is not just all about whatever calories he can get his hands on- he is specific with what he shoves into his swelling body. Of course, every once and a while, fast food can hit the spot, but usually, what’s the point? It’s just grease and salt. Sam wants more. He wants complex flavors that hit all of your tongue and keeps you coming back for more and more and more because you don’t ever get tired of the taste, hardly realizing just how much he’s consumed…

And maybe that craving for better food (Bucky always teases him for having an expensive pallet) starts when he’s searching for Bucky on the run with Steve or even before when he’s just pals with Steve and he’s trying to show Steve the modern wonders of non-boiled, non-rationed, or non-depression-scarce food. Developing a habit of taking Steve out (on “non-dates”) to nice restaurants or sharing his family’s home cooking with him when Sam comes back up from Louisiana. Reminding himself as well as Steve how good indulgence is. But either way, if Sam’s appreciation for good *ahem* expensive food happened with Steve or before- Sam likes good food.

To the point that he thinks, half-seriously, about becoming a food critic just for an excuse to eat like a goddamn King more often. And now that Steve’s retired, just hanging out with his found family, and Sam has the shield… Captain America’s seal of approval has to be worth something, right? Especially if he’s going to black-owned restaurants and supporting them that way. Captain America is black now, so America is gonna have to get comfortable with it as well as learn a little bit about black culture and black food culture. No way around it. It’s going to happen.

Anyway-

Being with Bucky exacerbates Sam’s taste for more.

You see, Bucky’s even worse than Steve was when he came out of the ice in that Bucky doesn’t remember a whole lot about food on top of having missed out on a century’s worth of food. He doesn’t remember what he grew up eating, so Steve reminds him and suggests that either he and Bucky make it together (which really means Steve stands in the kitchen while Bucky makes it since Steve can literally burn water) or Bucky try making it himself, following a “vintage” recipe not any of the bullshit “classic Americana” meals that some old diners around have. Because they’re always inaccurate and gross. And once the meals are made, Sam always has to try the food too which, is impressively flavorless most of the time considering the full-fat milk, unashamed amounts of sugar, and heaps of butter that go into everything from back then: no low-carb, low-fat, not-real-sugar replacements like they have now, thank you, no thank you modern diet culture. Yet, those flavorless calories still stick to Sam’s ribs. And the calories that do taste good (mostly the desserts from the 20s/30s/40s), well, Bucky doesn’t have a sweet tooth, so they all end up being given to Sam after a bite or two. But all of that extra food is just food for getting Bucky to remember. The additional, much wider gamut of new foods he’s never had before has an unimaginable effect on Sam’s body as well. Because, of course, he’s tagging along for the ride or leading the charge on the introduction of new foods. He has to be a supportive boyfriend (and he has to stuff his face 🤭)

Any of Sam’s past Drill Sargents or Commanding Officers from his days in the Air Force would faint, seeing his lean abs and built, brick-hard pecs covered by a soft, jiggly layer of fat. Enough fat to press your fingers into when searching for where all that muscle is buried. And they’d turn bright red with anger (not red with arousal or fluster like Bucky (and sometimes Steve when he can see him stealing a glance)) at his already thick waist and big legs getting thicker and bigger. He’s letting himself go to waste! Getting soft! He better kick himself in the ass and get into shape or ship out ‘cause a fat soldier is a damn useless soldier! He can almost hear their voices in his head, echoing from a different time. At the current time, it only makes Sam smirk and wolf down another mouthful (even though he’s already sweating and panting with the mass of flavorful, indulgent food rounding out into a heavy, dark, and taut dome that sits proudly in his lap, spilling out of his shirts and jeans).

Sam has been piling on weight since before he met Bucky, Bucky since meeting Bucky he’s had to replace his full wardrobe again and again as well as having to go through several “redesigned” (re: sized up) iterations of the Falcon uniform. And then a few redesigns of the Captain America uniform too as his belly swells, his hips and thighs widen, his ass becomes a damn shelf, his shoulders and arms puff up, his pecs turn to soft moobs, and his chin begins hinting at a twin in a way that cannot be hidden with his goatee (fuck he wishes he could grow a beard like Steve and Bucky).

However, Sam doesn’t want to get so fat that he can’t remain Captain America for as long as he can be Captain America (since he isn’t an ageless super-soldier) but he does take full advantage of his larger, heavier body while still holding the title. It actually comes in handy, contrary to what he thought and what society taught him about being overweight. Under all his fat he’s got a shit ton of muscle- it’s like he’s constantly in a dirty bulk, adding more muscle with more fat. And it’s had good effects on his general strength plus the specific ability to hold down villains, watching them squirm under his hands in the same way that Steve and Bucky get to, using their super strength. (Bucky keeps teasing Sam about his super fat, which doesn’t make Sam’s dick hard, nope, not at all.) Additionally, the new strength and sheer mass behind his shield throws mean that every time he does use the shield it’s something to be terrified of. More than usual. It’s great. So far the only downside is that his speed isn’t better - it’s worse - but what the hell else is his wingsuit for other than not having to run? Besides, when he really does run, it’s a bit like being a human tank… or an NFL linebacker. Similar things. Big and heavy and crashing through anything and anyone that gets in his way.

But also-! All that’s not even to mention the plus side of now when he does run for training purposes or is unable to use his wingsuit out in the field, Bucky drools over him; getting so, so distracted by the heavy jiggle of his round belly, tits, and ass. Eyes dark and heavy, watching his every move.

Staying Captain America and wanting to gain weight means that when on black-out protocol (days where unless the world is literally crumbling down around them, Sam won’t be called out into the fight, it’s his fucking day off) Sam spends the entire time not just eating his fill at meals of rich, indulgent food but pushing it. He eats and snacks until he can’t move and can feel the pressure of his skin pulled so fucking tight that he’s going to have new stretch marks within the hour. The deep, dark brown marks stand out like inverse lightning bolts on his lighter brown skin; Bucky buys a truly ridiculous amount of cocoa butter, demanding he is allowed to rub it on him once he spots the marks forming. But Sam denies him to tease him in the same way on his black-out days, he eats and eats until he’s about to pop before letting Bucky touch him. Sam won’t let him help with the butter until Bucky has inched his way forward without noticing, breathing down his neck, hands half outstretched, watching Sam so so intensely. Eyes following every little movement of his hands as they spread the butter over his inflated belly and love handles. Sometimes even over his pecs and thighs, when Sam feels like teasing extra, moaning about how his skin feels tight everywhere, he must’ve put on another ten pounds, don’t you think, Buck? He does it until he can practically see smoke coming out of Bucky’s ears, face red, mouth open, wet and swollen from licking and biting his lips. Then he chuckles and invites him, “okay okay, you can-” he breaks off from his words with a drawn-out moan, loving the feeling of Bucky’s hands finally on his packed, stuffed, entirely full gut.

And it’s then that Bucky gets his own fun in, finally allowed to touch and finally allowed to have the upper hand over Sam. He touches- he rubs Sam and words drip out of his mouth, once more showing Sam a piece of that man from before the war that Steve speaks of reverently- “he coulda convinced anyone to do anythin’, all charm, and honey drippin’ out of smirking mouth. Always had a string of gals on his arm an’ not one of ‘em was ever jealous. It wasn’t cheatin’, they were all just pleased as punch to have some of his attention.”

Bucky teases:

“I don’t think you’d ever get off the ground like this, babydoll,” Bucky jiggles his huge tummy so Sam knows exactly what he means by like this. “You’re too heavy. More city pigeon than falcon nowadays, don’t’cha think? Had too many bread crumbs, bloating you up big an’ full…”

“I know you can’t move, sweetheart, but I think you should,” Bucky purrs, “I think you should try’ta put on your suit, see how many seams you break trying to pour yourself into it. Jiggling up and down as you wiggle your way into, too fuckin’ tight over your fat thighs and ass and round, huge gut.” Sam moans with his head thrown back. “I wanna see you in that, Sam, a size four sausage stuffed into a size one casing.” Sam feels his arousal spike hard. “Plus, I wanna see Stark’s face when he’s gotta fix it again. Mouth open, turning red ‘cause he’s mad at you, mad that he has to fix it again all while knowin’ you’ll be breakin’ it soon enough ‘cause you’ve got a growin’ problem.”

“So greedy, huh? Can’t get enough food so you pack yourself full enough to pop. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, you’re gonna get so big that’I can’t even lift you up and take you to bed.” Sam’s toes curl at the idea, too big for a super soldier to lift. (Maybe he could get so big that it’d take two super soldiers 👀)

“Can you imagine if you were a pet bird, Sammy? You’d be the biggest, fattest, most spoiled bird anybody had ever seen. A cat’s goddamn wet dream- big and juicy.” That idea sparks the image of the cat that got the canary in his mind, which shouldn’t turn him on, a cat with a massive, wobbling tummy, overfed and satisfied but… here he is. More and more he's learning that a lot of things that probably shouldn’t turn him on, do, in fact, turn him on. “Shit, doll, I think if you were a pet bird you’d’ve grown outta your fuckin’ cage. Too big and fat. Just look at you-” Bucky smooths a hand down the roundest part of his stomach. He’s so full that all Sam can do is lazily look down, feeling his chin double (or triple?) and groan. He is exactly as big as Bucky is accusing him of being. Jesus. “There ain’t no way you’d fit in a little birdcage. You’re too big. Not that a cage would be useful at this point, you wouldn’t be able to escape, can’t fly fuckin’ anywhere when you’re stuffed like a thanksgiving turkey.”

One last bonus thought-

Bucky really, really fucking likes Sam on top of him, whether he’s riding him or just sitting there, Bucky can’t get enough of his heavy, solid weight. Always squirming, biting his lip, and rubbing his mismatched hands over Sam’s belly, love handles, thighs, and ass. Anywhere he can reach. He rubs, he smacks, and he pinches; he worships Sam. Never happier than when he’s crushed under his huge ass and thighs or with his face smashed up against Sam’s doughy, comically round, and uncontrollable belly.

🐬 Which character(s) did you originally have in mind when making this tournament?

The characters I had in the examples during submission were Moonshine Cybin (Not Another DnD Podcast), Toad (Mario), Stanley (Spiritfarer), Todd from Mario (Drawfee), Apothecary Gary (Amphibia), and Danielle Barkstock (Dimension 20). I continued to think of more characters myself as submissions went on and submitted them, but I of course got one submission per character just like anyone else. Rip Morphean Mushroom.

🧢 Were there any characters you predicted would win that actually ended up loosing?

Most of the characters that were defeated by underdogs! I expected there to be a few campaigns to bring underdogs up but there were several who just won without any propaganda! Poison Mushroom Cookie, one of the first characters with multiple submissions, getting beat out by Shumi, a character with one short submission that I added pictures off of google to pad out their description was NOT something I expected!

I don’t know if I can pick a favorite, but one that stood out to me while making the polls was Jade Leech VS Night Cap (PvZ). Pre-Competition they were the two contestants that I actually did some research on cause they interested me and I was so sad one had to go Round 1. Rest In Peace Jade, your fans still love you. (He got so much propaganda too! I was expecting a more even final count.)

No new fandoms that have pulled me in all the way, but it did get me to start replaying some Plants VS Zombies!

Gah it’s so hard to pick! I don’t want to play favorites lmao. I’ve already hyped up Jade Leech enough because he got so much support but still lost. I love the Apothecary Gary propaganda because I love Amphibia. Toad Berry. Honestly it might still be just the submitted descriptions for Muttshroom.. I had never heard of this lad before he was submitted but I’m in love now and was heartbroken when he lost.

rp pet peeves / dealbreakers:  People not having any indication of their age anywhere on their blog. I don’t need to know your exact age, but at least whether you’re 18+. Other than that, let’s see... this doesn’t happen too often, but does happen occasionally writing a character like Ferno--I’ve written with some folks in the past who even before we directly interact, seem to go into it with the expectation of a ship because he is very flirtatious. I do love ships! I love Ferno ships! But just because a character is very charismatic and charming doesn’t mean a ship between my muse and someone else’s is going to work out. 

fluff, angst or smut: I enjoy a healthy, balanced diet of all three. 😌

plots or memes: I enjoy both! I’d love to do more extended plotlines, but I think memes are a great way to build dynamics that can be fleshed out in plots. Sort of like how good filler episodes in a series develop the relationships between the characters that enriches the story around it. 

long or short replies: Both are good! I tend towards medium to longer. 

best time to write: It really varies lol, my day-to-day schedule is a joke for a lot of reasons. But I would say usually right after waking up in the morning--during my recording days I’ll usually try and bang out a post or two while I’m hydrating and warming my voice up--and late at night. 

are you like your muse(s): In some ways. I’m not as neat and tidy as Grillby for sure, though I relate a lot to the anxious tendencies he’s developed over my time writing him. I also tend to bottle things up until I am a powder keg of stress, and it is definitely not good for either of us, lol.  What’s kind of interesting to me is the feedback loop that’s come out of writing my muses? Grillby’s love of music that gradually became a part of his character wasn’t like necessarily autobiographical--music is still really important to me, but I play it up with Grillbz past the point I’d take it partly because sometimes it’s really funny to see someone so put together be just really weird and excited about something? But also because I think it emphasizes one thing I love about my version of Grillby, which is that he gives the impression of a stoic, silent gentleman, but deep down inside is an overly passionate nerd who can get so swept up in something he adores that he struggles to keep that composed image. It shows his hand as a bit of a closet romantic and a dreamer, and it’s something that endears him to me. But also (to get to the original point of this tangent), I think writing that out through Grillby has given me a greater appreciation for music, and enhanced my own love of it as a medium of art and communication.  So I guess I do see a lot of myself in my muses sometimes, but I feel like writing my muses in some ways has altered the way I see the world and appreciate things too, and that’s just kinda neat.

So I’m not sure if all of you know this, but one of the deleted scenes from Goncharov (1973) was a second scene with the clockmaker--he’s in the background a few times throughout the movie, but he only really has one actual scene.

I’m not totally sure why they cut the second scene with him, and while I’ve seen it before I’ve not managed to track it down since--but I did manage to find the music that plays during it!  I figured I’d share it with yall since we seem to be having a bit of a Goncharov renaissance lmao.

It’s a rather more dramatic version of the music from the soundtrack in the clockmaker’s first scene, which actually appears in the movie, unlike this piece.

Hey as you noticed I've discovered your art recently and I'm impressed with how well you can pull of your own style and so because of that I wanted to ask you for this thing I've been scared for awhile. It's a fusion between a older version of Aubrey from Omori and bill cipher from gravity falls my 2 all time favorite characters and I have a awesome idea for how the fusion would work. Yeah I know a fusion between these 2 is weird but I thought it'd be cool so if you don't mind please try it!

Normally i do Not take art requests, esp from here, but idk it felt fun to do! I’m not too much of a fan of fusing humans since whenever I make fusions, I always have the power of abstract. I’m glad you really enjoy my art though! It means a lot :)!

I DID have other ideas for this but I panicked because I realised it kind of counts as gore and I do not like to frighten myself so I held back. Also idk fam this seems more like possession than a fusion but weh, take it as you’d like!

you know what the “context” of the art is? sometimes i think “hmm, i wonder what my fave character looked like as a child? omg i wanna draw that”. i did it when i was in the naruto fandom, and i did it when i was in the undertale fandom. and especially in the case of asterius whose life was Fucking Garbage and who never had a chance at a good, happy life, i wanted to imagine what his childhood might’ve been like, if maybe he had at least some happy childhood moments, if maybe there was someone who loved him before it all went to shit (and also since he’s so big, i thought the idea of him having been a tiny babbu was fuckin’ adorable). also, kids put stuff in their mouth, animals put stuff in their mouth, so i figured a human/animal hybrid baby would try to taste stuff they’re unfamiliar with even more so. there’s your “gross” and “horrible” context. and you’re seeing sexualization in that. that’s literally all you, all in your own brains. your minds are so hopelessly fucking warped that it would be sad if you weren’t insistent on treating other people like shit because *you* saw something sexual in an entirely sfw, non-sexual, pure and wholesome drawings of a child doing child things

as someone with no interest in children, fictional or real, i find it  immensely concerning that your mind jumps into imagining child rape with such ease, requiring literally no prompting. that is creepier and more concerning than anything i could ever draw

I present before the court this offering, allowing myself to be humbled shamed schooled humiliated brought down a peg etc etc in the hope that this time next year I can look back on it and create a really intensely very cool progress video...you also get to see what my constant internal monologue is like. it’s. it’s exhausting lmao. 

This is my fifth day in Korea, and about the second week of me studying Korean with Lingodeer. I made some noise about starting Korean way earlier than that in February but basically never did, so let’s say this is...two weeks in? 

Again, as we know, weeks don’t count. Days don’t count. It’s hours that do. Tragically however I have not followed by own advice and keep forgetting to use Polylogger to track the time spent - I doubt it’s more than 10 hours though since I’ve primarily been using the app.

Anyway. However long I’ve been learning, it’s early enough that it’s kind of shit and kind of embarrassing. But that’s one of the reasons I think that I’m posting it - I follow a few really big langblrs, and whenever they come into my orbit I sort of kneel down and weep bitterly in awe. But we’re all just nerds who like languages and occasionally post about it. I think it’s wonderful that people have been posting things more as beginners in a language, and I hope that we can do that for audio too!! Sure, it’s embarrassing! But that’s ok - we’ll get better! I hope that langblr can be a place to share the journey and encourage each other in things we are just starting out in too.

So posting this, here’s a little challenge to all the beloved langblrs on here: Have you just started a new language? Would you like to share some speaking as a starting point, maybe to come back to some time from now and see how far you’ve come? Tag me - I want to hear!!

In this snippet I say the five (5) sentences I can currently usefully say (’the dog has an apple’ does not count), as well as some live practice with Lingodeer. 

I know grammar and vocabulary will improve - that’s a given. My reading is also quite slow even for words that are not new, and that will improve without question too. But I’m mainly curious to see how much my accent and intonation will improve with immersion over the course of a year. Listening back, I can hear what some differences are between my intonation / stress patterns and those of the Lingodeer man - I can hear some places already where I’m going wrong (the stress on issumnida and related words I feel needs to be either on the second syllable or more distributed - either way not so much on the first. And particles I have zero idea how to stress). Others will exist that I can’t hear at the moment. I hope that that conscious linguistic awareness will grow and improve, but I also hope it will eventually marry up with more subconscious intuition. To go from ‘Oh, my mouth should be doing this - let me just -’ *wrestles with mouth* to ‘Wait, my mouth is doing this? Oh. Cool’. 

I hope this snippet also makes it clear that whenever I’m using something like Lingodeer, I may not be speaking usually, but it’s still fairly active study. I’m constantly going - ok, wait, how are these two sounds pronounced together? What’s the stress doing? Why do I sound wrong? Is this sound more palatalised/rounded/aspirated in this context? When are things voiced more or less? How are words pronounced differently in isolation when read in word lists and in the middle of a sentence? Language is an endless source of data and I plan to mine everything I can :)))))

hi! genuine question! I saw you said you disliked stiles in a post you reblogged, but is it okay if I ask why? (I’m not a huge stiles stan or anything, lmao, I’m just curious. If that’s okay! If it’s not, you don’t have to answer. You do you!)

There's actually many reasons.

I have to admit, to start with, I didn't hate the character.

I wasn't all that interested in Stiles, because I've seen his type of character a hundred times over, and by now, it takes a lot for a character that basic and cliché to still really catch my interest. But I didn't hate him.

He was just ... Scott's human friend with the dead Mom who said mean sarcastic things, and whom we were supposed to find funny.

But then fandom got into him, and put all their focus into claiming they loved this character. And what they seemed to love most about him, was how much of an asshole he was. While at the same time, writing him in their fanfic in a way that utterly didn't suit the actual canon character.

In fact, most often the character they called Stiles in their fanfic, was given all of Scott's positive character traits, Scott's relationships with the other characters, Scott's role in the story, and so on, to the point that he barely even resembled canon Stiles anymore. Fanon Stiles becomes this version of Scott with all of Scott's canon flaws and depths flattened out, while focusing on using Stiles as their self insert, to make him 'special', but without having Stiles ever do anything to earn his 'specialness'. Your typical Mary Sue character in other words.

Which I still coudl have put up with, without it affecting how I saw him on the show. If those same fans, then didn't start hating on Scott, and pushing the things they didn't like about Stiles onto Scott.

Stiles canonically was a bad friend, but they didn't like that, so they started claiming Scott was the bad friend.

Stiles canonically was reckless and impulsive, so they started to push that onto Scott.

Stiles was cruel and mean, ignoring the feelings of anyone around them... and well you get the idea.

Which after a while made me take a harsher and harsher look on canon Stiles. Making it impossible to ignore just how badly Stiles treats everyone around him. how much of a bully he is. How he's constantly talking down to everyone, and tearing down Scott's self esteem.

But most of all, how he NEVER, not once, faces consequences for his bad behavior. He can lash out at Scott, both verbally and physically, and faces zero reaction for it. To the point that the show acted as if him doing so was ... acceptable. As if Stiles is allowed to hurt Scott, as if Scott even deserves to be treated like that.

Stiles' abusive behavior was treated as OK, and that's never a good thing.

See, compare it to Scott, when Scott did something wrong, he got called out on it, almost immediately, and then responds correctly and improves his behavior, growing, maturing.

But because Stiles never got called out, he never got that growth, that change that he desperately needed as a character.

Part of that is because Davis too treated Stiles as a self insert, a power fantasy, but as we saw with s4, another huge problem is that fandom hated any growth in Stiles. When Stiles finally started improving somewhat in s4, fandom reacted terribly to it.

And as a result, Stiles utterly regressed in s5, and became even worse than he was before. This leads to a rather static character. One who is not allowed to grow up. Who exists solely to emote, to show how he feels, while adding little or nothing to the plot, because outside of giving Stiles some scenes were he got to whine a lot, he didn't really get to do anything important. He rarely seemed to matter to the plot, and it often felt like if you removed him from the story, it wouldn't actually change anything to the overall plot of the show.

Now they could have saved the character in s5, if after s5a, he'd faced consequences for his lies and his conspiring with Theo, for the way he betrayed the pack. But instead, once again due to fan reaction, s5b utterly glossed over Stiles bad behavior, and tried to pin all the blame onto Scott. This might be fun fan service, but as a result, it left Stiles feeling even more bland and one dimensional, as a character who wasn't allowed to grow and learn from the things he did wrong, and even worse, it felt like an insult to his fans, as if saying 'we don't think you can handle it if your self insert is actually called out'

Notice how in s6a, they could barely find any positive sciles scenes to put in the clip montage when Scott is remembering Stiles? They are once again trying to put so much focus on Stiles and Lydia, ruining what worked between them in favor of fan service, that they undercut his every other relationship on the show.

And overall, with the way they removed him, and his not being there barely had any consequences on the world around him, it made him feel even more useless in the story as a whole. As if he was no more than a distraction, to keep Scott, Lydia and Malia out of the way of the main story, while no one else really cared that Stiles was gone.

And this in a season that was supposed to focus entirely on Stiles, without even having the actor there.

It just showed even more how weak of a character Stiles really is.

And it's a pity, because he could have been a great character, if he hadn't been so popular, and the show had actually had the guts to deal with him, as they did with every single other character who wasn't a fan favorite.

I grinned when I got this ask. I honestly didn't think anyone would care that much about my thoughts on the songs, but if you're asking I'm more than happy to share! And if you're comfortable feel free to drop another ask or shoot me a DM with your own thoughts :)

First I'll give overall thoughts and then I'll delve into a few more specifics, as well as a tiny bit of Drarry stuff! This is going to be a lonnnggg post which I suspect very few people—if any—are really interested in reading. But if you are, then stick around! Overall I LOVED it. The production was amazing and very cohesive. And oh my goodness her VOICE has grown so so so much. It's hard to realize the difference when we just listen to stuff like folklore or evermore or even reputation, but her voice has developed a lot. It's a lot stronger than it used to be when she first recorded Red—and that's saying something because her voice was great then, too!!

Like with Fearless TV, it really felt like a more grown-up Taylor reflecting on her early life, and it was emotional to listen to this album now when I so vividly remember it coming out at the time. It's also so clear that Taylor had fun rerecording it. Her passion for her old music is always so wonderful to see—that she's not the least bit ashamed or shying away from her early work, because it feels like we really grew up with her, yk? And all the parts of ourselves—past and present—deserve to be celebrated.

Now for some specifics.

It was sooo fun to hear her say "who is taylor swift anyway?" in 22, and her little dialogue in WANGBT (although the "weeEE" in the chorus of WANGBT made me laugh a little lmao). And Stay Stay Stay was a lot better—don't get me wrong I liked the original too but this version was even better.

Also I LOVED Holy Ground. I loved that song before—I dedicated a fic to it in the TS/Drarry series!—but I was so satisfied with this version.

The Moment I Knew is and continues to be the melodramatic bop we all know and love. Girl at Home was good, but it was a bit of a shock. It's just so different from the original, and sonically it reminded me of 1989. Still, it was enjoyable.

Okay now the vault tracks:

Better Man and Babe?? incredible. Message in a Bottle is SUCH a bop (and I see some potential Drarry vibes ��)

Also, I Bet You Think About Me is soooo funny and one of my favorite vault tracks. Forever Winter is so good and sad.

Run is SUCH ROA VIBES!!!! You said it perfectly so I won't add on more than to say it's like the theme song.

Nothing New—I was SO excited to see Phoebe Bridgers get a full verse!! The song itself is also just amazing. love it.

The Very First Night is also a bop. Really fun and a great vibe.

Okay. Now for the song we've been wanting for 9 years: ATW 10 minute version.

I was floored. I knew I would be. I mean she wrote a 10-minute version of my favorite song?? I was shook.

The lyrics are incredible (although I'm a little confused by the "fuck the patriarchy keychain" part, but my theory is that it's a little Picture to Burn reference bc of the "stupid old pickup truck you never let me drive" and now with Jake being like "you drive idc." That's my theory but she also released keychains with that phrase on it, so. idk.)

Okay but the REST of it. There are too many lyrics to point out, but she really holds nothing back and it's just a tour de force. I also loved her harmonizing with herself instead of the other voices that were there in the original.

The only other thing I'll say about this song is that I've added one more songfic to the plan for the TS as Drarry series ;)
