As you lounged comfortably on the plush couch, the soft glow of your phone screen illuminating your face, time seemed to slip away. Your Twitter feed was a never-ending stream of mundane updates and viral memes, until, out of nowhere, a tweet appeared that changing the mood of everything.
The interesting challenges caught your attention, luring you in with their mysterious allure. You had lots of free time and not much else to do, so you couldn't help but get curious about these intriguing suggestions. Some were harmless and innocent, while others were more daring, making you want to give them a try.
As you scrolled further, your heart started pounding when you found some really explicit challenges, things that you would on see one PornHub or something. Though as you read each suggestion it felt like it was drawing you into a world of intense passion and desire.
Then, like fate had a hand in it, a certain suggestion stood out among all the online noise. It caught your eye, making you curious like a moth drawn to a light. This challenge promised a night of excitement and closeness, but it also made you feel a bit nervous. The words on the screen gave you a shiver: "You or your partner has to wear a vibrator all day or night, while the other controls it."
You thought about it more and couldn't help yourself. You went to your bedroom where Rin was already there. When you sat next to him, he looked at you with curious eyes.You gave a little smile and got closer, gently touching his cheek, and asked, "Rin, should we give this a shot?" Just then, you showed him the tweet on your phone and point to the one that caught your attention.
With a sly smile, he said, "So, if I get this right, you want one of us to wear a vibrator all day?" You nodded, and he chuckled, saying, "Okay, we'll do it, but on my terms." You asked, "What are the terms?" He then grinned wickedly and said, "First, I choose when and where you put the vibrator on. Second, if you get handsy or try to finish early, I increase the intensity. Lastly, no holding back moans, even in public."
You were about to say "yes," but then what he said registers in your head , causing you playfully hit him in the arm. You then say, "I can't touch you or myself when I'm feeling needy, and I have to talk in moanish gibberish that not far."
With that, Rin gracefully rises, positioning himself shoulder to shoulder with you. He places his hand beneath his chin, tilting his head to the right, a clear sign that he's deep in thought. Eventually, he arrives at some sort of conclusion, declaring, "Alright, I’ll let you win – just this once. So, here's the deal: when you get all needy, you can handle it yourself, or even use my body to help , but I'm strictly off-limits when it comes to helping you so no begging for me to fuck you or touch you sound far."
His face lights up with a mischievous grin, and you find yourself equally enthralled by the idea, offering a nod of agreement. The two of you settle with that, and both of you return to looking at the TV screen, immersing yourselves in the world of sappy old romance movies. It's been an absolute blast. Everything was going well, but suddenly, Rin’s loud alarm goes off. He turns over and turns it off before getting out of bed, and saying, "It's time for us to get ready."
You raise an eyebrow, confused by your boyfriend's sudden excitement. You didn't remember any important plans, so you just stayed in bed, not doing much. It was only when Rin spoke excitedly that you stopped rolling around."We need to get ready for the party tonight," he reminds you, trying to jogging your memory. "Remember the one I mentioned last week? It's like a get-together for me and the guys from Blue Lock."
You stop fidgeting and think hard. After a moment, you remember what he talked about. You look at him again and say, "I thought that was in October."
He quickly takes off the covers, picks you up, and carries you to the bathroom. He hands you your toothbrush from the matching set you got together. Then, with a teasing look, he says, "It's October, sweetheart."
You shoot him a disbelieving look, your expression clearly conveying a "no way" sentiment. Your incredulous gaze causes him to pause mid-toothbrushing, and he points over to the bathroom calendar and speaker.
Turning your attention to these, you're met with the surprising revelation that the date indeed reads October 12. You offer a nonchalant shrug, not wanting to admit that you'd completely lost track of time.
Now, as you both stand side by side, brushing your teeth together while nodding along to your shared playlist, you can't help but smile. It's a simple, endearing routine that only the two of you share. It's one of those cute, intimate moments that usually belong in movies, but somehow, it's a part of your everyday life.
Though you couldn’t bathe in the moment, for too long knowing how particular Rin can be about punctuality, you hasten your tooth-brushing, not wanting to keep him waiting. You quickly grab something comfortable to wear, fully aware that your boyfriend has a penchant for making you try on countless outfits, even when you're only looking for one.
Finally, the two of you venture out into the bustling world of stores and outlets. While strolling and casually peering into shop windows, your gaze locks onto a stunning drape collar dress in a mesmerizing champagne hue. Captivated by its beauty, you can't resist tugging on Rin's arm, impulsively leading him into the store. Without wasting a moment, you head straight to the racks, where you luckily find the dress in your size.
Hastening to the dressing room, you slip into the dress. It fits you like a glove, accentuating your curves in all the right places. It strikes the perfect balance between revealing enough to be alluring but modest enough to make you feel comfortable. Now, it's time for the tricky part – showing it off to Rin.
You have a habit of enthusiastically displaying your fashion finds to him, but he has an equally strong tendency to, well, get handsy and maybe a little too eager. Despite this, you gather your courage and exit the dressing room. With a playful twirl, you put on a show for Rin, hoping he'll appreciate your choice without, well, ripping it off you prematurely.
"So, what do you think?" you ask, a radiant smile gracing your lips, eager for Rin's response. Surprisingly, Rin remains silent for a moment, and a pang of disappointment begins to well up within you. Feeling a bit disheartened, you start to turn away, but just as you pivot, he seizes you and pulls you close. In a passionate kiss that lingers along your neck, he murmurs, "God, why are you so fuckin sexy?"
His hands start to explore your body, igniting a desire within you that's difficult to ignore. You wouldn't mind indulging in a little action, but you both know time isn't on your side. You summon the willpower to gently slap his wandering hand away and retreat back to the dressing room. However, before you disappear, you blow him a quick, teasing kiss.
Now that you've secured your evening outfit, the two of you head back home. Once you're there, you hurry to the bathroom, eager to don your chosen ensemble and craft your makeup look.
After about a 1 hour and half you finish your look and step out side where you see Rin dressed all nice in I wonderful blue suit that match him perfectly lucky your dress fits well with his outfit. Walking up to him you pull him down to you height and places a soft kiss on his lips before saying “Ready to go” giving you a quick the nodded the two of you walk out the house and making your way to the party
Once your their you look around your eyes widening as you saw the building it look more like a hotel or a well renowned businesses agency then it did a party spot . Not giving you much time to take it all in Rin comes over and opens the door for you while offering his arm, the two of you walk in and are immediately greeted by Isagi and Bachira this were about the only two people Rin keep up with after blue lock.
Waiting to give your boyfriend some time and space to catch up with his friends you head over to a little booth we’re you see a large group of girl who look be either girlfriends or sisters of the former blue lock boys. You sit yourself down and listen in on what’s they we’re talking about, it was most just the normal conversation of how hot their boyfriends were how they brothers could beat anyone. You decided not to join in knowing that someone comment might set you off completely.
Finally you spot Isagi and Bachira girlfriends the three got to know each other pretty well since your boyfriend and pretty much inseparable on the field . Getting up from your sit you make you way over to the girls who were at the bar taking a couple shots once their you say with a exited tone “Hey girls” they both turn to you and they eye immediately widened. Getting up form their sit they run over to you and give you a warm hug before saying “Damn girl you look good as fuck, surprise Rin let you out the house looking like this” You let a little chuckle before replying “Same goes to the two of you, I know it was hard to get out the house” the girls then look at each other then back at you before giving a nod.
Not long after that the three of you head back over to the bar and throw a couple shot back everything was going good you guys would hit the dance floor and not and then come back and sit down because someone feet were hurting or they were thirsty. Finally you guys had enough of the dance for a hit up a empty booth once their the three of you caught up of what’s new in each others life while spilling tea about what’s going on in the soccer world. It was then that a blonde haired and a couple of his friends came up to you guys and began hitting on you.
“You girls look lonely why don’t y’all come with us” one of the guys says he places his hand y’all table while licking lips. You just look up from your phone and roll eyes thinking that they would take the hint and leave but of course they didn’t so they take a seats beside you guys trying to start up conversation but you guys weren’t having it so you say “ Can you see get the hell away from use, we’re not interested in hanging out with you” but it’s like everything you said went in one hear and out the other as he wraps his arms your neck.
Lucky for you Rin, Isagi and Bachira had finished up their conversation and had come longing for you guys. Rin’s face when he saw some other guys that wasn’t him touching you was something to be remembered, he stormed over to you and pull the guy up from the chair. “What the hell do you think your doing with my girl” Rin said his eyes full with a murderous attempt but apparently the guy must have been a masochist cause he continued to push Rin’s buttons “I was just showing her what’s it’s like to have a real man by her side” he guy said before get the wind punched out of his lungs.
Rin started to beat the shit out of the guy until his hands had blood on them finally after Isagi and Bachira pulled him off the guy did Rin quit beat the man not wasting any more time he went over to you and grab you by the wrist pulling out side of the building. Soon enough the to of you make it to Rin’s car we’re you both sit in silence until you look around looking for something to clean the blood of with
Finding some napkins you grab Rin’s hands and start cleaning them off while giving him a could talking to. “Rin what the hell were you thinking beating that guy like that what about your soccer career” you say with a upset tone you were happy he fought but he can’t just go out beating people up. Rin the mumbles something that you can’t hearing pissing you off even more “Fine if your going be a jerk then you can wipe the blood off your own hand” you say as you throw the napkin at him.
He doesn’t say anything he just takes the napkin and begins to wipe his own hands while you seat and pout. A couple more minutes go by and Rin finally says something “I’m sorry, you were right I shouldn’t have beaten that guy that badly even though he deserved it” you look over at him before grabbing his cheek and pulling to kiss “You know that’s not why I’m mad I’m mad because you but your dreams on the line for one dick head even if you looked sexy while doing” you say as you kiss him again this time making it last longer then before.
“You know you could give me a treat for being such a god boyfriend” Rin says licking his lips you look at him and roll your eyes before saying Fine, but just a quickie we don’t want be get worried”
。☆✼★━ Smut Time ━★✼☆。
You laid in the back seat of the car naked while your boyfriend was on top of you fully dressed, his knee spreading your legs out and rubbing right against your wetting cunt causing you to throw back your head in frustration. But Rin doesn’t let you think before he crashes his lips into your swirling his hot tongue around yours back hard for the both of you to breathe.
You both pull away and watch as the string of saliva connecting your snaps with that Rin starts to trail hot kisses down your body not stopping until he reached you wet cunt not wanting anymore time Rin started to places kiss across you puffy lips finally using his rough clauses thumb he spread your cute cunt apart before spitting on it, using his other hand he slides his spit up and down your cunt mixing it slowly with your juices once he thought you were good and wet he began to lick long hot laps across your folds.
“Fuvk Rin right there ” you moaned out as you gripped on to his raven hair and pushed him farther into your cunt.
Yet Rin didn’t mind. He loved when gripped his hair and tried to ride his face and normally he would let you put tonight was a little different. Wasting no time Rin used his hand to bring down a hard slap to your ass causing you to grip on to his hair tighter. “Did I tell you, you could ride my face sweetheart” Rin says as his tongue teases at your hole causing you to try to close your legs which only made Rin more angry “I didn’t tell you to close your legs either” Rin says this time slapping your ass harder than before.
"M'mm sorry Rin, just please keep going, I'm so close," you squirm, trying to get any be of frustration you can, deciding to give what you want Rin grabs you by the hips and pulls you in to him closer so you can't squirm why he laps up all your juices and pushes his tongue deep into your hole causing your eyes to roll back into your head. "Rin right there, don't stop," you try to add, but your words come out as a moanisg slur.
"I'm cumming," you chant as you rock your hips into Rin's tongue, but Rin abruptly stops. causing you to look at him with a wtf face expression, to which he quickly answered "The only thing you’re allowed to cum on is my cock" Rin says as he pulls down his pants and boxers, allowing his cock to jump free. His tip was glowing red and oozing with percum, and he wasted no time in aligning his cock with your wet openings and shoving his throbbing cock within, without allowing you to adjust to his size before ramming into your sloppy, wet cunt. You began crying because you felt him within you.
“God you feel so fuckin good sweetheart, so so fuckin good” Rin growls out as as he pushes your hips up and down slowly your warm cunt tighting harder around his thick cock as his hips thrust up to meet you half way. Rin could feel his cock harden his balls tighten but the only thing he could really focus on was your gummy wall and how they felt around him.
“I can’t wait to use this cunt that was just made for me, can’t wait to fill it up with my kids, can’t wait to breed it over and over again” He muttered between clenched teeth, trying his best not cum inside you just yet. His thrust became slow and deep making sure you were feeling just as good as him hit all your shots right stops with his hard cock. His eyes narrowing slightly as his grip on your hips got tighter, pushing you faster up and down his dick as your tight walls gripped him, a mix of your cream and his cum coating his length, making a ring on the base of it.
"Fuck- sweetheart , I’m going cum in you." He groans.”Want to fill you up so good and make you have my babies.”
Rin’s eyes roll to the back of his head as you give him a nod because you were to fucked out to speak , groaning and grunting as he begins to thrust harder and deeper into you, his gloved hands pulling your hips all the way down so his cock is completely inside you as his thick, warm cum fills your womb up.
"Fuck yes," you scream as your nails dig into Rin's clothed back, bringing down both of your highs. You two kissed one another that time, and before cuddling, you collected your air. Soon after, you two get ready to go back in, but just as you're about to put your pants on, Rin stops you and inserts a cute egg vibrator inside you, causing your gummy overstim cunt to clamp down around the toy. "Rin what the hell," you yell, grabbing on to run as the vibration of the toy weakens your leg. Rin simply looks at you before responding, "We don't want any of my cum to leak out now, do we?"
And with that, you two walk back inside, clamping your legs together and trying not to make any strange noises while the girls ask you if you're okay. "Hey, what's wrong with your girlfriend Rin, she's walking funny," Isagi says, with Bachira following right behind. "Yeah, it looks like something got into her or something," Rin replies, with a devilish grin painted across his face, before walking away and playing with his new favorite toy.

Yandere Vampire X f! reader pt. 1
The Woods PT. 2
Tw: noncon, dubcon,manipulation, mind control, isolation, sexual attraction to blood, blood.
A/N: This chapter is a slow burn kind. Mainly because the second chapter is just going to be smut due to certain circumstances which are revealed at the end of the story.
Kofi: Wanna buy me a coffee?
🍒🍒🍒🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓
Your quiet gothic-themed village was never afraid of many things. Not even the bubonic plague scared the villagers. But, something that did scare them was the woods. They called it The Forest of Blood or El Bosque de Sangre. A long time ago, during the medieval ages, a family of wealthy nobles from Transylvania moved to your village. With their luggage were a human-sized coffin and a blanket with engravings of DC on them. They stayed in their castle surrounded by woods until the villager's livestock began to die. Cows and pigs as pale as ghosts with markings on their necks. The only clue was a trail of blood leading into the dark forest.
The villagers took their weapons and marched to the noble's castle, only to find the family in such a horrific condition, not even the graveyard thieves wanted them. Though, others say the family are beings of another name. Some called them Nosferatus, Draculas, Creatures of the Night, Demons, Bloodsuckers, anything but a human being. But that never worried you. What worries you were the girls going missing at the start of every winter, about a couple weeks before the first snowfall. No one knew who would be next, but no one dared to lock their daughters inside. For the last time they did, your village of Verano had mysteriously lost numerous amounts of harvest and livestock. And so here you are, walking to your grandmother's house to keep her company.
It didn't bother you that it's dark as you walk the dirt roads to your grandmother's house. You were used to the dark. It felt like home in a weird way. Even the predators that snatch livestock from the pens respect you as if you are one of their own. Although, it would lead to the villagers thinking you are a witch of some sort. But that didn't bother you either, for you always thought about flying high in the sky and doing witchy things with your friends, especially your friend, Nos, who you knew since that fateful day all those years ago.
"What are you doing behind that bush?"
The boy with pale skin and raven black hair looked at you with shock, fear, and surprise in his eyes.
"Come on, don't you want to play with the other children?"
The boy nodded and took your hand as you ran into the field to play with the village children. You put a flower crown on his head and held both his hands as you began to spin around.
"Nosferatu! Dracula! Demon and Creature of the Night! Everything you'll scream when they bite! Pure as snow! A virgin wearing a white wedding dress! Dye it red and rest in the forest! Be their bride in unholy matrimony!"
Your grandma walked up to you and said to say goodbye to the now-happy boy. You hugged him goodbye and skipped back to her cottage. When you got to her house, your grandma whispered in your ear.
"Nunca hables de los Nosferatus y sus novias. O de lo contrario desaparecerás en el bosque también."
"Bien, abuela."
That was fifteen years ago, and he's been your best friend ever since, even if you could never have adventures in the woods because you feared disappearing from the village.
"Nos, why do you insist on creeping behind me so much?" You ask, turning around to face a six foot three Nos.
"You shouldn't be walking out here so late at night. There are dangerous things in these woods," Nos says, putting his coat on your shoulders. "You should come back to my place and get warm."
"Sorry, grandma needs me to help with the pre-Christmas party," You reply, trying to move through the mud. "Did you hear about it supposedly snowing today?"
"Yes, I did, love. Are you going to start up about those girls going missing again?" Nos asks, walking side by side with you.
"How could I not?! It's supposed to be the first snowfall today, and not a single girl from the village has disappeared!" You exclaim, turning around to face Nos.
"Darling, those girls probably ran away from home. They found someone better in the world and left to explore it," Nos responds, taking you into his arms and dancing you around.
Snow begins to fall, and soon the roads become milky white. You made it to your grandma's house only to find she wasn't there. She had left on an emergency trip to Venice to help one of your cousins give birth. Your grandma had left a centuries-old family cookbook for you if you wished to cook something for dinner.
"It's snowing pretty heavy, darling. How about you stay at my place until it stops," Nos suggests, buttoning up the coat he put over you.
"That sounds fine, but what about you? Won't you be cold?" You ask, starting to shiver.
"I'll be fine. The cold doesn't affect me that much," Nos replies, taking the cookbook and carrying it in his bag. "Come, we can cook dinner and get warm by the fireplace."
You nod and follow his lead until he tries to enter the forest. The dark, snow-covered forest seemed to be staring back at you. Nothing made a sound, and nothing moved. You weren't sure if it was because of the snow absorbing the sound or because this forest was so terrifying that nobody dared enter it.
"It's ok. It's a shortcut to my manor. It's only a couple feet away, I promise," Nos promises, gently holding your hand. "If you feel safer, I'll hold you in my arms the whole time."
"Fine, but don't let me go," You whimper as Nos carries you like a princess.
Nos was known as a lady killer or a charming noble, depending on who you ask. Even though he only came into the village to meet you, he garnered attention from other girls. He got proposal after proposal but kept declining them. The girls eventually got over him, but the female elders couldn't help but notice how no boy or gentleman in the village would ask for your hand in marriage. Their husbands told them to pay no mind to it, but they stopped paying attention to you when predators acted like domesticated animals around them. Though others theorized you were the next Novia de Nosferatu.
"We're here! I'll get you some overnight clothes and make a fire. You can pick out a recipe if you want to," Nos says, handing you your family cookbook.
"I'll choose something yummy," You say, scurrying to the kitchen.
After fifteen minutes, Nos returned downstairs and saw you preparing to cook your family's calzone recipe. He wrapped his arms around your waist and asked if he could help.
"I'm fine, Nos. Why don't you get us something to drink?" You reply, putting the rolling pin away.
"Of course, darling. I'll be right back," Nos says, going to the cellar.
Dinner was ready, and Nos poured two glasses of wine. You brought the food to the table and began to eat with your friend.
"Sorry if the wine tastes bad. I know you're more accustomed to fruity alcoholic drinks," Nos comments, eating a piece of the calzone. "You're still not afraid of these woods, are you? My room has a pretty good view of the trees. It gets wonderful sun and moonlight as well."
"Don't you have a guest bedroom?" You ask, trying not to earn the title of village whore just for innocently sleeping with a guy.
"I'm afraid all the guest bedrooms are-oh fuck it. You've been the light of my life all the way into adulthood. Would you-would you please be mine?" Nos proposes, pulling out a box with a ring with a dark red gem.
The ring was silver with black markings going around it. It was something that only the richest of the rich could afford.
"Nos...of course I'll marry you!" You exclaim, kissing your now fiance.
"Are you sure? Are you absolutely sure? It's not the alcohol talking, right?" Nos questions, pouring you another glass of wine.
"It's not the alcohol talking. Besides, based on things are for me in the village, it seems you're the only guy who would willingly marry me," You respond, drinking the second glass of wine until it's half full. "What type of wine did you give me? It tastes so metallic."
Nos moves closer to you, eventually capturing you in an embrace. You can feel his muscles twitch, and he kisses the crook of your neck. Nos slips the ring onto the middle finger on your right hand.
"I'm glad you wanted this as much as I did, my unholy bride," Nos whispers, his voice becoming raspy and hissing towards the words of unholy bride.
"Wha-"
You have no time to react before he bites you full force. Your ring extends a needle or blade into your skin and shoots something into you. You couldn't break out of his arms and felt nothing but pain. Your nerves felt like they were on fire, your body began to shiver, and your eyes felt like they were about to explode.
"Sh, sh, sh, it's ok. You'll get through the transformation soon. It’ll be nothing but pleasure from here on out, my love,” Nos comforts, gently stroking your head. “Once you drink my blood, the transformation will be complete, and we can be together forever.”
“Nos…Nosfer…Nosferatu!” You scream, rage and fear flowing through your blood.
“No! Call me Nos. I’m still your sweet, Nos. I’m your wonderful fiancé!” Panic is in his voice as he realizes he’s starting to lose you.
You yowl in pain, and with the newly formed claws, you swipe at Nos. He jumps away from you as you run toward the library. Everything was black and red. There was no other color present. You see a book on a desk and fiercely open it, only to find out some things are better left as secrets.
“The son of the chief of Verano made a deal with the blood devils. One maiden will be the sacrifice for us all and be the devil's future mother. A sacrifice made before the first snowfall, or else we will pay for it all,” You read the page making more anger surface. “This year’s Blood bride is Y/N. Please note that the heir has chosen to court her and then ask for her hand in marriage.”
“Darling, no! Don’t read that book! You’ll get confused!” Nos yells, grabbing your shoulder. “ Your body is tired from the transformation. You need to rest!"
"Don't touch me! I can't believe I was ever your friend! How long?! How long did you plan on doing this to me?!" You rage, tears falling down your cheeks.
"I only- thirteen. I knew you were my bride at thirteen and have courted you ever since. You wanted to stay friends, and I still wanted a relationship, so I abided by your wishes and drove suitors away from you. I didn't want you to find out who I was through force like the other brides of my family. I wanted it to be a nice experience for you." Nos holds you in his arms as your claws swipe at him drawing slow-moving blood. "We can still have a wedding with your family. I'll invite them, and they'll know you're ok."
"Do you know what you've done?! Everyone in the village thinks I'm cursed or a witch!" You scream, trying to get out of his arms. "I hate you! I hate you! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I FUCKING HATE YOU!"
"NO! You don't hate me! It's the vampire venom talking! You love me! You love me just like you did before!" He growls, slamming you onto the brick wall. "Clearly, we need a little couples therapy until that is gone from your system."
He bites your neck, and pleasure goes into your veins. Your legs wrap around his, and your hips unconsciously grind on his crotch. Nos is too strong from drinking your blood to try pushing him away. You can only try to keep your body still as he drinks from you. Your vision goes dark, and you let out a small moan.
When you wake up, your vision is dark, and your naked body feels cramped. You push open the padded ceiling, and something metal moves as light hits your face. Red liquid falls on you from above, making everything but your face smell metallic. You crawl out of the coffin, trying to head towards the backdoor facing the woods. Nos grabs you and licks your cheek, making you shiver.
"I think this will bring us closer together, don't you?" Nos asks, removing his red robes and putting his naked body against yours. "I won't take your virginity until the wedding night unless you want to lose your virginity before then."
"I will never marry you!" You scream, trying to break away but can't due to the wet blood.
"Oh, I love it that you're still stubborn. Let me treat and clean you up, my love," Nos kisses as his hands go straight to your crotch and breast.
He sticks his fingers in you and rubs your nipple as he makes out with you. Nos looks at you, and his brown eyes become bright red.
"Focus on the sensations. In and out," Nos whispers, kissing the previous bitemark he gave you.
You felt like you were losing your mind. You didn't want to follow his orders. Soon enough, you were begging for him to finish you off. He took out his fingers from inside you after you orgasmed. He sucked on his fingers covered in your juices and blood. Then, began to lick the blood on your body. You tried tugging at his pants from below, but he swatted your hands away. Nos licked and kissed his way down to your crotch, where he found that you were bleeding. His face lit up, and you were too euphoric and full of lust to care what would happen next.
"It seems your body has decided that we must have our wedding now," Nos says, taking you into his arms so he can put you in a bath. "We're going to have one bloody hell of a wedding, darling."

His marionette
There were paths you'd been itching to trek on; avenues that held mysteries and risks that would make the average person quake, but for you, these offered the taste of freedom you always craved― freedom to do as you pleased. However, the ever extending roads proved to a bit too perilous to tread alone, which made crossing paths with Doflamingo a Godsend. With overlapping desires and goals, joining him in his conquests came as second nature.
Despite him aiding you in paving the rocky roads you'd found yourself on and the occasional flirtatious exchanges, there was a part of you that was pulling you towards something more stable: those you chose to date being the common dinominator.
The stand up and gentlemanly type were the ones who frequented your heart most, even though each one just ended up disappointing you. You often found yourself pondering your attraction to such, in your opinion, spineless men. Perhaps you favored dating these types of men because you secretly wanted a calmer and more settled life.
Even if this were true, each relationship went up in flames; the passion that you'd be wrapped up in at the beginning would scale the walls, consuming the mens' nerve to go further with you. You were never going to be the housewife they wanted you to be, and they would never be able to give you the challenge and adventure you craved.
Feeling a tad out of sorts following your most recent breakup, you tried keeping your mind off of it with target practice. Glancing back at the gnawing feeling of someone watching you, you saw that Doflamingo had entered the room, observing you.
A pulling at your heart accompanied with a twinge of heartache went hand in hand as you processed him being there. "Is there something I can do for you?"
He sauntered closer, his hands in his pockets and a grin creeping on his face, "I was just about to ask you the same thing."
Your heartbeat picked up the pace with each step he took towards you, "Oh, I'm just dandy." You lied before splintering your next arrow through the head of a mannequin.
The low chuckle coming from him rattled your bones. He came closer to you, leaning in to say, "I can think of a few better ways to release your tension."
That familiar tingling you got from him prickled at your skin as his true intentions for imposing on your practice became clear. Hesitantly turning towards him, you couldn't deny the fluttering sensation ricocheting within your heart.
How could you have been so blind? The risky venture you were after could only be satisfied by him. It'd always been him. The thrill, the chaos, the power: you'd become enamored by each aspect of authority he had, each string trailing up your sides and wrapping themselves around your form, tethering you to him.
Taking a step forward, you sized up the troublesome desire that'd been banging at your doors for far too long. "You may be right."
"You're going to give in so easily? And here I thought your type was those stuffy gentlemen."
"I don't need a gentleman right now."
Your bluntness whetted his appetite, licking his lips with anticipation to fully devour you. Without a moment longer, he swiftly pulled you into a lip lock that tugged at every fiber in your being. Each wave of passion crashed againt you, shaking you to your core.
Exchanging hot, breathy moans you quickly needed more from him. Your hands trailed down his front and your fingers eagerly pulled at his pants.
Another low chuckle erupted from him as you showcased your lack of self-control. Swooping you up in his arms, he trailed his tongue along your neck, leaving love bites on your soft skin.
Tossing you on the couch, shock waves of excitement jolted throughout your body. He leaned over you, lightly wrapping his hand around your throat and murmured, "I want to taste you."
When all you could do was nod, he kept his hand around your throat and effortlessly ripped your skirt and panties off. Gazing down at the arousal that was already dripping for him, he wanted nothing more than to gorge himself on your disgraceful display.
With a long and strong lick up your folds, he swirled the tip of his tongue around your pearl. Instantly making your legs tremble, you couldn't hold back the moans from this sheer delight overwhelming you.
He tightened his grasp around your throat a bit more, making your chest heave from the intensity. When you felt like you were already slipping off the clifs of your euphoria, he shoved his tongue deep within you. The slick movements paired with his strong lips wrapping around your pussy made you squirm―rutting against his face as he skillfully plunged deeper into your wildest desires.
As you rode out your first whirlwind of ecstacy, he let out deep and low moans. He was going to have you return the favor, although this was something you were more than prepared to throw yourself at.
Abruptly pulling away, he stood over you, promptly revealing his length and leading you to return his generosity.
You gladly complied by licking the underside of his member and swirling your tongue on the tip. Your teasing was leaving him hungrier for you, as you noticed a darkness casted itself over him. Filling your mouth with as much of him as you could, he seized the back of your head. Grabbing a fist full of your hair, he was giving you an indirect order not to stop until he was satisfied.
As your fingers dug into his thighs in hopes of supporting yourself, he let his ruthlessness overtake the moment: your choked sobs being muffled by his girth and huffing from his own dash towards release.
With each relentless thrust, you could feel him unraveling more and more into the temptation coating your mouth. Then, with a snap of his hips, he pulled out and desperately tugged at his aching cock. You waited patiently with your sweet open mouth and sultry eyes inviting him to defile your beauty.
Hot streams of cum coated your delicate features. Licking the remaining drips off the tip of his subsiding euphoria, you flashed him a cheeky smile.
With such a force of passion being shared between the two of you, it was obvious that you'd been holding out hope for the wrong future. You didn't want a life of comfort anymore. The thrilling life alongside Doflamingo was the only one worth leading.

Watering Can
Draco x Male Reader
Context: A four-quel to my other ficlets All at Once, Windowsill, and Summer Sun. Reader is a ravenclaw in the year above Draco, and this fic takes place in Draco's fifth year (your sixth year) during Order of the Phoenix.
Also it's burdensome to keep linking every one of the previous parts, plus I imagine it's an eyesore, so if you want to read all the parts going forward they can be found on Wattpad and Ao3 under the name "Intense". <3
Summary: Draco can't help but go into Inquisitorial Squad Leader Mode™ when Filch mentions hearing rats in the greenhouses only for them to mysteriously vanish when he goes in to look. Lo and behold, who else would it be but the Ravenclaw he's more infatuated with by the day.
Word Count: 1560
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The plaques on the wall shone in the dull light of the night sky. Bouncing off the glass, shining over the reflection of the hallway, the moon cast smudges of light gray along the dark walls. Draco's feet were cold against the floor.
He made quick work of his bathroom break, trotting back down the corridor towards the Slytherin dorms, wiping his freshly washed hands on his wool shirt. Footsteps rang from the end of the hallway, and Draco froze.
"Stinking bloody rats-" Filch muttered under his breath, his lantern lighting the walls before he turned the corner.
"What are you on about?" Draco stepped forward, the inquisitor within him already accustomed to jump at the chance to assert discipline upon other students.
"Filthy rats in the bloody greenhouses." Filch stopped in his tracks and rumbled on. "I hear 'em, but I can't find even one of the damn things. Gone before I get there, every time." His voice was bitter and rough like gravel.
Draco nodded, interest peaked.
Filch adjusted his grip on the handle of his lantern, Mrs. Norris yawned where she was tucked into his free arm. "Get to bed," He spoke, tone not lacking malice. "Wouldn't want to send Umbridge her own lapdog." He cleared his throat, starting again down the hallway.
Draco scoffed. Filch was one to talk about being Umbridge's lapdog. He rolled his eyes and pushed past Filch uncaringly, baring a sneer at the squib. He waited for them to disappear around another corner, rerouting himself when the last of Mrs. Norris's bushy tail was out of sight.
The school was quiet as he made his way through it, calm. He ducked past the dark walls until his feet touched the dirt-marred floor of the greenhouse hallway. He cringed at the feeling, but carried on.
Creeping along, he leaned slightly into the doorway of greenhouse one. His eyes scanned the room, the boxes of soil lining the walls empty.
Sloshing water broke his concentration. He turned towards the noise, squinting his eyes at greenhouse three across the hallway. He caught sight of a figure hovering over the plants, and pulled his wand from his pocket.
Gripping it tightly, he approached the doorway of greenhouse three as quietly as he could, waving it in the air before pointing it at the figure and casting, "Expelliarmus!"
Your startled shout rang through the air, watering can flying out of your grip and landing with a thud on the ground, rolling over and leaking water onto the floor.
"What the hell?" Your familiar voice made his stomach drop, and he swore he could feel the shame in his nail beds. You were audibly pissed, angry even. It was almost as terrifying as his father's wrath. "I'm not going to attack you with a watering can! Unnecessary!"
You dug your wand out of your pocket and flicked it in the air, muttering a Lumos and filling the greenhouse with light.
Draco opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't find the words.
You blew a puff of air from your nose. Your brows were furrowed. "Draco." Your voice around his name was laced with a bite he'd never heard from you, and it had him regretting every decision he'd ever made. His throat felt dry. "You gonna take me Um-bitch? Someone has to keep the plants alive."
"You shouldn't be out of bed after hours-" He chased the words out of his mouth, knees feeling weak from the clever nickname given to Umbridge.
Your scowl shut him up.
"Sorry," Draco choked, voice cracking.
His face felt hot, hotter than the air in the train car he'd last been able to speak to you in. He coughed, and it did little to quell the tightness in his airways.
"I, uh... I won't take you to Um-bitch." He let a breathless chuckle escape him.
You looked him up and down, and felt like he was about to crawl out of his skin. One of your brows jerked up in suspicion, and he wanted to run his thumb along it, to feel the muscles under the skin tense and relax.
He stepped into greenhouse three, taking a shaky breath and pushing closer despite the tension. He picked the watering can up off the floor, avoiding the puddle that had formed around it. The space beneath his ribs burned, and he held it out to you, his eyebrows raised in sincerity.
Your eyes met, and he hoped he looked as apologetic as he felt. Your face had matured over summer break and the beginning of the year, and he subconsciously tallied all the ways your face managed to fit you impossibly better. He wanted to touch it and feel for himself how your features had changed.
His lungs quivered when you reached to take the watering can back with your free hand. Your fingers brushed his on the handle, and he felt sparks fly up his arm. His knuckles ached. He wanted to throw the stupid watering can across the room and lace his fingers with yours.
"Thank you." The suspicion and anger bled from your face, and you returned to contently watering a line of plants, shriveled beyond identification.
He watched you quietly, admiring how your dirty fingers pressed and prodded the soil. "Regerminating Potion would help." He offered, pulse speeding up when your eyes met again. He'd missed you over break, and he found it a real shame he didn't see more of you day to day.
"That's a sixth year potion." You pointed out, a smug smile tugging at the corner of your mouth. Draco felt his face heat up.
His eyes widened and he opened and closed his mouth around an excuse he couldn't find to make. He'd rather go full inquisitor on you again than admit he'd been reading ahead and studying even advanced sixth year potions for the chance you'd need more help from him. Your observation went unanswered.
"We're not allowed to make potions anyways." Your smile morphed into something more leisurely, working your way to the last of the plants.
Finished watering, you set the can down on the ground quietly and looked at him. Maybe having special inquisitor privileges wasn't all that bad, Draco thought.
"I could make you some."
"You'd do that?"
Draco swallowed roughly. He'd do anything for you if you asked. "You want me to?"
He stared into your eyes, hoping you were paying close enough attention to see the unspoken vulnerability in them. He wanted to break every rule Dolores Umbridge put in place if it meant he could make you happy. His bones felt restless.
You blinked, and your eyes faltered for a moment. They flicked down over his face, catching on his lips and he felt his stomach lurch forward. His own eyes fell to yours before he tore them away and found you already looking back into his eyes.
It felt like you were strung together, thread tightening with every breath that fanned between the shortening space between your faces.
You took an audibly shaky breath, and Draco hoped it meant you were as flustered as he was. Your mouth poised open, forming words on your tongue that lost their chance to be spoken when the light of Filch's lantern reflected on the glass walls across the hallway.
The light at the tip of your wand went out. Draco whispered for you to duck under the table at the center of the room. Your wand clunked against the floor as you did, and Filch's footsteps picked up in speed until he was limping into the greenhouse almost shouting about the filthy rats he was set on catching.
Draco felt anxiety lick up his spine. "No rats here, there was only one." He spoke, projecting his voice like was giving a speech, guttural lilt not unlike the tone he took up with Potter. "Made quick work of the pest, you can be sure of that."
Filch huffed, peeved but uncomplaining. Must just be thankful those 'rats' are out of the picture, Draco figured. "I'm not gonna tell you again." Filch grumbled. "To bed with you." He twitchily shook his head and tore his disapproving glare from the room, righting back on his path around the school.
Mrs. Norris lingered in the doorway, nose bobbing against the floor, sniffing. Draco crossed his fingers behind his back and his gaze dropped to you. He held his breath even when his heart picked up at the amused look you gave him from under the table. Mrs. Norris licked the back of her paw before trotting away back to Filch.
When he held his hand out to help you up, it's a miracle it wasn't too sweaty to grip onto. He felt adrenaline pulse through his veins, and the energized smile you gave him mirrored his own as it crept onto his face.
"You know, these pajamas are a good look on you." You stayed in his space, pinching the fabric of his sleeve between two fingers. Butterflies raced through his chest at the contact.
The lightheartedness made him want to kiss you, made him want to pull you into a hug and breathe in your smell. You blinked at him and he blinked back, head reeling, picturing all the ways he wanted to break more of his own rules with you.

HI, I was wondering if I could request and Azriel x reader where az is super protective over her and stuff. Like she is tiny and he always wants to hold her close:) I love your writings!!
I mixed this up a bit to add some humour as well as fluff
"Hey, tiny."
Cassian ruffled your hair as he walked past, and you scowled, swiping at his shoulder and being even more irritated at the chuckle he gave as he dodged. "I'm not tiny!"
"Sure you're not, short-stack." He beamed, cockily, teeth glinting in the early morning sun as he paced leisurely across the room toward the training ring, making you speed to keep up with every one of his long strides. As though noticing this too, he chuckled under his breath, and you shot him a dirty look from the side of your eye.
"I'm gonna kick your ass for these comments y'know."
"Ouch!" He cupped a hand over his chest, feigning a fatal wound, before stepping his way up tot he raised platform of the training ring. "Do you treat Az like this when he calls you tiny?"
"Azriel does no such thing!" You scoffed, following him up and watching him lean down to pat his hands onto the powdered floor, gathering some of the dust and rubbing it into his palms, ready.
"What are you talking about? He does it all the time!" Your eyes narrowed, turning a little to look over toward the practice dummies where some of the priestesses trained. Your mate's back was to you, yet he had stiffened, spine stock straight and fingers of one hand clenched into a tight fist where they rested behind his back. He was listening.
"Oh, does he, now?" Your teeth clenched a little, and you watched Azriel twitch somewhat, still attempting to feign nonchalance, but his shadows were creeping up his body, wrapping tightly around him in protective swirls.
"Uh, yeah. It's always 'look how pint-sized she looks in the wing-chairs, Cass' or 'how can I find her missing hoodie when her clothes are like the size of one of my gloves, Cass!' or-"
"Cassian!" Azriel's voice cut clear and sharp through the room, both your and Cassian's heads snapping towards your mate. He swallowed thickly, refusing to meet your eye as he glared at his brother. "Do you think you could come and assist the priestesses in a training exercise?"
"Yeah, in a moment!" Cassian smirked, turning his gaze back to you, and something flickered within them, something disastrous. "As I was saying, it's always 'gods, she is never going to reach that shelf, but I'm sure going to have fun watching her try', and-"
In a flurry of writhing black, Cassian was ripped from your view, his deep laughter disappearing into the folds between space before Azriel was emerging from the smoke. Half a second later, Cassian yelled as he fell from the sky half a mile outside, wings popping out and banking across the horizon.
"Azriel."
"My love." He tried, offering a sweet smile, and your arms folded over your chest.
"Pint-sized?"
"Adorable." He corrected, rocking forward on the tips of his toes to tap your nose, as though the act wasn't digging him a deeper hole.
"Size of your glove?"
"Made for my hands, of course." He was smooth, you'd give him that, you had to bite your tongue just to keep from smiling at that line.
"And you're why everything has been mysteriously moving higher and higher up around here then?" You raised a brow, and he faltered a little. Faltered, as though expecting you wouldn't have noticed your favourite cereal move from the third shelf to the top, or your shoes now stacked on the top of the wardrobe instead of underneath.
"Well, it's just so fun for me watching you stretch and reach, especially when you wear those tiny little nightgowns in the morning- hey!" He grinned, catching your fist as it flew at him, your curled fingers connecting in a punch to his palm, fingers wrapping around it and lowering it. You tried again with the other, swiping faster, lower, but he caught that too.
Forcing both of your contained hands to your sides he tugged you closer grinning down at you and lowering enough to brush the tip of his nose against your own.
"You'll have to do better than that, my small sweetheart."
"Don't call me that!" You swiped at his legs with one of yours, twisting to take him out, and he stumbled, but didn't go down, smirking as you as a sparring match began.
"Oh, you don't like that? How about 'little love'?" With a growl on your lips, you lunged again, landing a blow to his chest this time, and he grunted at the impact. He didn't hesitate to retaliate, though, grabbing you by your wrist and twisting your back, pinning one arm behind your back between your bodies as his chest came flush up against you from behind. "No? Dainty darling? Mini muse?"
"I despise you!"
You ducked, using his body weight against him as you moved fast, letting him stumble forwards before shooting back up. Bracing your feet, as his grip on your arm went slack, you rose back up, shoulder slamming into his stomach. He bent at the waist, and you twisted around him, a kick to the back of the leg and he went down to one knee, the other swiftly following.
"Take it back."
He only chuckled as you took a handful of his hair, tugging his head back, feeling victorious as you stood behind him. Panting, a little sweaty, and he leaned back into you, head resting against your stomach. "No."
"Take it back!"
He reached behind, hands grabbing for your calves, pulling them up from the floor and sending you tumbling backwards, groaning as your back hit the floor, head following, the wind knocked from you as Azriel quickly followed, the weight of his upper half almost pinning you to the ground. "I'll take it back when you win."
Your legs wrapped around his core, and you used what little strength you could muster in this position to throw yourself over, twisting his body roughly as you went. He coughed, the side of his face pressed down to the floor for the powdered ring, wheezy and breathless laughter, as you sat perched on his lower back. Leaning forward before he could move, you shuffled, pressing a hand down to the space beneath his wings as they flared from their tucked position.
You held him down, the other hand reaching a finger out to press just over his racing pulse on his neck, and a shudder when down his body as your nail scraped light at his skin. "You're lucky I don't have my knives, or else you'd be finished."
He grinned, tapping his hand three times against the mat, and you waited, punishing him for a second longer, before you let him go. Sinking down to kneel by his side instead, he sat up, legs spreading to sit on either side of your hips, leaning back on his palms. He was covered in dust, and you reach d hand forward, smile dimming as you brushed the substance from his skin, and he leaned his head into your palm.
"You know I don't mean it as an insult, right? Never an insult, never would anything I say about you be less than absolute adoration, my love."
"I know." You frowned, his brow furrowing as he waited for you to go on. "You warriors are so big, and when I- before you, before coming here, before training, I always felt so weak and small and useless. I hate feeling like that anymore."
"You know you're not. Look at you, you just took down one of those warriors."
"You let me win." You couldn't help your eye roll.
"I did not!" He threw a handful of powder at you, grinning at the splotches of pale marks it left on your shirt, and the cough you followed it with. "However, if you wanted a rematch, I'm happy to hand you your ass this time.."
"Oh, shut it." He shrugged, silence enveloping you for a few seconds, as you gathered your thoughts. "You know I'm, like, as tall as Nesta, right? You wouldn't call her tiny."
"No, but her attitude and temper make her taller than her mate." You couldn't deny that, letting out a soft sigh. "You're just.. of course, you're tiny to me. Everyone is tiny to me, but you? There's something extra about the way you do things. Alright, maybe you're tall compared to everyone else, but when I can hide you away from the world with just one wing, it makes me feel something. It scares me, because it makes me think about how easily you could be taken from me. All I want, all I ever want, is to protect you, my love. I can't lose you."
"You're not going to lose me, Azriel." You hoped he could feel it, the reassurances and promises thrumming down the bond. He sent back a wave of love and assurances in return. "You couldn't possibly, not when you have at least three of your shadows watching me at any given time."
His lips parted, jaw dropping as much as he'd allow it, and you were sure had his cheeks not been flushed from exercise that he'd be blushing. "You know?"
"My equal is the spymaster, I have to be alert, you gave me nothing in those first few months. I had to learn to read you myself, to know how you play."
He huffed a laugh. "My cunning, beautiful, tiny mate." He reached out, tugging you toward shim with one hand on your jaw until your lips were brushing. A soft kiss, barely there, and you pecked his puckered lips lightly, teasing him for more.
"You're going to pay for that comment, later."

Jouno x Reader
Tumblr media
"Please stop embarrassing yourself, if not for yourself then for me."
Scenario - Jouno gives you tampons when you forget to bring some to work because let's not lie to ourselves, he kinda looks like one...
The work day started off as normal as it could be, being a part of the hunting dogs.
There were no big missions set out for anyone, so today was a fun day that involved torturing the prisoners kept in headquarters until one of them breaks. One which involved many different methods, all of which were violent.
Well, Jouno decided this was a 'fun' day. You had decided to tag alongside him as it was either that or paperwork. You could leave the latter for someone else, like Tachihara.
He could take one for the team, as you were not going to give up spending some alone time with Jouno.
Although as you walked toward the holding cells, you couldn't help but feel dread. Today was supposed to be some bonding time for you and your work crush, but right now you only felt the need to go to the bathroom and cry.
You knew your period was coming up soon, but why today? Of all days? This was one of the worst-case scenarios, seeing as this was what you could consider a 'work date' with Jouno. The closest you could get at least, seeing as neither of you had no social life outside of work.
What was also worse? You didn't have a tampon on you. Usually, you would keep some in your pockets but you didn't prepare for today. Your pockets were instead filled with half-eaten crackers and salt packets.
You tried to quietly fumble around your pockets, hoping the man wouldn't notice. He had heightened senses so what he knew was a mystery to you, but hopefully, he would ignore you checking every single pocket 3 times over for a goddamn tampon. It was frustrating, as you only needed one just so you could have a fun day with him.
You sighed softly as all you managed to find instead was a rolled up receipt.
"Did you lose something? You're being annoying."
Jouno stopped and turned towards you, furrowing his brows. He noticed, and with his hands in his pockets, was going to really have a sit-down conversation about this.
"Um...nothing important. I'm just checking for something." You felt your cheeks go red as you looked away, feeling like he was burning you.
Jouno scoffed.
"You're a horrible liar y/n."
You stayed silent, hoping maybe you could outlast him. He stayed, absorbing your presence as if you were guilty of a horrible crime.
He started rummaging around his own pockets though, which surprised you. He pulled something out, hidden in his clasped hand.
"Take it."
You took his hand, where lo and behold, there was a tampon in its glorious bright pink packaging. You quickly shoved it in your pockets as that shit was embarrassing. You blushed, looking at the ground.
"Um...thank you."
Jouno just nodded, walking forward on the pathway.
"Come prepared next time so you don't embarrass yourself."
Even though he sounded gruff, you could tell there was no malice in his statement. You smiled. Then you stopped.
"How'd you know?" There was a creeping horror in your body as you felt something settle in your stomach. How far did his senses really go if he knew about this and came prepared?
Jouno kept walking, picking up the pace a little as the conversation agitated him. You had to speedwalk to catch up to him, as he was running away from the conversation topic.
You really wanted to press it further, but you were pressed for time as you saw the bathrooms up ahead.
Sorry this is short and poorly written LOL I wrote this after taking a nap. Anyway rip Jouno and his senses this thought never leaves me tbh. Same with being called a bloodhound...

What about the valorant ladies of your choice with a reader who is bad at communicating their very gay feelings so reader just keeps leaving little gifts around for them whenever they can
omg i loved this prompt so much!!!
GIVING THE AGENTS GIFTS | FADE, KILLJOY, REYNA, SAGE, SKYE, VIPER
words: 2000 warnings: fluff!!!
Tumblr media
FADE
You know how much Fade misses her homeland, just from the few scant conversations you’ve had with her since she arrived on base. The conversations are always short— you find yourself in the predicament of being extremely gay and also attracted to Fade, which never ends well.
So, you resign yourself to leaving gifts.
The first one is a bracelet, made from silver and dark metal with an evil eye in the center. Small, but enough for Fade’s curiosity to be piqued and for her to start seeking out who left it for her.
The second gift is a candle holder made by a Turkish craftsman out of black and blue shards of glass, a special request you made. When Fade was away on a mission, you put it in her room with a fresh candle inside of it, and when she got home, she saw the candle lit and the glass refracting off the walls in shades of blue and black.
Okay, she needed to figure out who was behind these gifts.
You got caught on the third go— in an attempt to smuggle some Turkish Delights into her room, you got pounced on. Literally.
“Hah, gotcha!”
You were pressed against the wall, a box of goodies in your hand and your face burning from embarrassment at being caught so easily. She was on the training docket, why is she in here?
“So you’re the one who’s been leaving the gifts for me?” Fade squeezed your face in her hands. “Now I can properly say thank you.”
You couldn’t even get a word out before Fade kissed you. Short and sweet, but enough to make you drop the box of sweets onto the ground out of shock.
Needless to say, Fade teases you relentlessly about it for weeks after.
KILLJOY
For all the alarm systems and cameras she had, Killjoy could not figure out who was leaving her gifts. They’d show up in her room and her lab. Nobody can get past Killjoy’s security systems.
No one except you, that is. You know Killjoy like the back of your hand, and so you know how to sneak past her little bots in order to leave behind gifts.
They were funny gifts at first— tiny hats for her bots, a custom made beer stein (that KJ uses exclusively for her gamer drinks), and other small things that became a part of Killjoy’s lab decor.
But as time went on, the gifts became more thoughtful. A set of high quality tools for soldering. A brand new beanie to replace the one Killjoy accidentally burned a hole through with a blow torch. Blue light glasses with her exact prescription so she wouldn’t burn her retinas off staying up late.
By that point, Killjoy had enough of it and decided to camp out in her lab one evening to find her mysterious gift-giver.
Lo and behold, she couldn’t contain her shock when she saw you creeping into her lab, dismantling her security alarms with a passcode she didn’t even know that you knew.
Before you could place whatever gift you’d gotten her this time, Killjoy turned on all the lights and grinned at you from where she’d been hiding in the corner. You’d been caught, and you knew there was no way to explain yourself out of this one.
“It was you!” Killjoy shook her head. “Of course it was, how did I not figure this out sooner!”
She jumped off her perch and walked over to you, wrapping her arms around you in the tightest hug you’d gotten in years. You sputtered out some weak response of being too nervous to give them to her directly, and Killjoy just grinned before kissing you.
REYNA
Reyna is hard to give gifts to. If they’re not exactly right, chances are she’ll throw it away without thinking twice about it.
Which is why you have to be very careful in what you choose to give to the Empress. It’s akin to offering a god something and hoping your head doesn’t get chopped off.
Your first gift is something decorative that you hope reminds her of home— Talavera pottery in sweeping shades of black and pinks, placed on her desk. The following day, you overheard Reyna asking Cypher who gave it to her. To your relief, Cypher said nothing about it and pretended he didn’t know (a lie that everyone saw through clear as day).
Your second gift was a hand stitched blanket you requisitioned from an artisan (and paid top dollar for). You left it on Reyna’s bed when she was out of her room one night with a sticky note that said for when nights get cold.
Reyna sought out anyone who might have any information; Omen, Brimstone, she even asked Chamber if he knew, and Reyna hates Chamber’s guts. Alas, no one had any clue.
And so more gifts arrived in her room. Authentic chocolate from Mexico that was gone in a single night after. Coffee beans that Reyna swore nobody knew were her favorite. When Day of the Dead rolled around, there were small figurines around her room for the occasion.
Reyna had exhausted every link she could think of, except for one person. You.
And that’s how you ended up cornered in her room one night, fear buzzing in your veins like excitement when Reyna gestured to all of the decorations you had bought for her.
“You’re responsible for all of this?” Reyna asked. You nodded, unable to say even a word. Reyna tilted her head to the side. “Nervous?” You nodded again. Reyna grinned, and this was the grin of a predator. “Good. I’m going to devour you, cariño.”
She did. She very much did. You left her room hours later with marks on your neck and an iron-hot claim on your skin left by the Empress.
SAGE
You love giving gifts to Sage, even if you get too nervous to speak around her.
They’re little things to remind her of home, usually. Jade dragons, lucky cats with waving hands. They end up scattered around Sage’s room and the infirmary, blessings of good luck that Sage takes to heart, even if she doesn’t know that it’s you giving them to her.
Her curiosity eventually gets the better of her when the gifts start becoming more thoughtful; she walks into her room one night to find a package of her favorite brand of tea leaves, notoriously difficult to find. Another night, there’s a custom made fan detailing an old Chinese folktale Sage told around the campfire on the beach once.
She starts seeking out who might be giving these gifts to her, and her search brings her to asking Omen. The ghost doesn’t say much, but simply turns his head in the direction of the kitchen, where you’re standing and cooking with Raze.
You, of course, it would be you.
Sage pulled you aside into the infirmary, a smile on her face as she asked, “All these gifts. You wouldn’t happen to know who left them, would you?”
Knowing you’d been caught, you pulled a small bag from your jacket and showed your latest item— a necklace made of leather string leading to a jade pendant of a Chinese dragon. You held it up in front of her, face flushed from blushing. Sage merely took the necklace and to your surprise, looped it around your neck before using the thick cord to pull you in for a kiss.
You’ll be the first to admit that you squeaked, embarrassingly enough. Sage laughed, and the sound was enough to wipe away your anxious thoughts and for you to kiss her again, hand cupping her face and a smile on your cheeks.
SKYE
You knew Skye well enough to predict her schedule. When she left in the mornings to work out in the gym, you left behind custom carved sculptures of animals in her room. You didn’t make them— your handiwork is shit— but they were made with her in mind.
Skye loved them. The first one she got, she carried everywhere with her and showed it to people. When she showed it to you, you had to use your best poker face and pretend like it wasn’t you who gave it to her.
More sculptures followed, and so did talismans and other things. You even got her a carving knife after overhearing her wishing she had a better knife to cut wood with.
That gift left her extremely giddy. Skye practically glued herself to that knife, either having it twirling around in her hand or in the holster attached to her belt. It became her pride and joy, and you’ll admit, you might’ve gotten caught gazing at her a little too adoringly a few times.
It led to Skye meeting you on the beach late one night, the stars and moon overhead. You asked her what the meeting was about, and all she did was turn to you, a small wooden sculpture in her hand with a pile of wood shavings by her feet.
“This is for you, love. Figured I should pay ya back after all the stuff you got me,” Skye said, causing your face to go red at the sound of her voice and the goddamn nickname. The wooden carving was rather simple— a mockup of your favorite animal, but it touched your heart that Skye knew what your favorite was.
You hardly had time to say thank you before Skye was pulling you onto her lap, pressing a big ol’ kiss to your cheek and nuzzling your neck. You were a giggling, lovesick mess, and it became so clear that Skye felt the same.
VIPER
Viper didn’t care for trinkets or things that served no purpose. That much is glaringly obvious.
You had to take care of what you bought for her. Minimal gifts that could be used, like a pack of her favorite pens for whenever she lost the others. These things Viper could use and you could stay under the radar.
But eventually, you got a little more bold. You asked Cypher what her favorite drink was (wine or bourbon, depending on the mood) and you didn’t hesitate to purchase her favorite bottle of red wine.
Knowing how she worked herself to the bone on weekends, you left the wine bottle in a chilled bucket with a sticky note that said please go home and rest, your work can wait.
The following day, when you snuck into her lab again, you noticed the wine bottle was uncorked, still in the cooler, and another sticky note had been placed on top. It read: Only if you join me for a glass.
You had to work up the courage to respond, but eventually, you left another note agreeing to it. It was set— you’d meet her on the roof of the administration building the following night, and you were to bring another bottle of the wine.
You put on some nice clothes and walked up there, a fresh bottle just pulled from the fridge to give it optimal time to warm up to the perfect temperature. Holding it in your hands, you ascended the stairs to the roof and walked out, your nerves stuck in a tight ball in your chest.
Viper, of course, was already there, sitting in one of two seats with a table between, two glasses and a decanter at the ready.
Her eyes slid over to yours, and you saw the smirk. “I should’ve guessed it would’ve been you.”
“That obvious?” You replied, and Viper shook her head.
“No, but only you would be bold enough to tell me to leave my own lab,” Viper replied. “Pour us some wine, would you?”
It was the start of a wonderful night of conversation, and by the end of it, you’d worked past your nerves and held her hand across the table. It was the best thing you did— Viper kissed your knuckles and promised she would pay for the wine next time.

Just imagine a crossover fic with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Moon Knight...
Imagine you are Miguel O'Hara's most beloved and he tragically loses you. Despite this being a "canon event", he's never been able to get over your death.
Imagine he knows that he can't have another you from another universe, for doing so would cause a major disruption throughout the multiverse.
But then imagine he finds another version of you...only you're not in the spider-verse, but a completely different universe. And, lo and behold, he finds out that he can come to your universe without any repercussions to his own.
Imagine he throws all cares away and travels to your universe to find you, to be with you, only to see that you are already taken by a mysterious vigilante known as Moon Knight who also looks exactly like him.
Imagine that he's so desperate, so in love, to ever let you go--again. And so he sets his sights on you, determined on doing anything and everything in his power to have you, make you his just as much as he is yours in every universe.
Imagine Steven, Marc, and Jake absolutely not having any of this weird spider creep's bullshit, as the three of them battle it out with Miguel for all that you are--heart, mind, soul, and your sweet, addictive body.
And finally...
Imagine me writing this 🤭
(Pssst if y'all have any recs on any of Oscar Isaac's shows or movies where you think he could look like a real-life Miguel, pretty please send 'em my way!! 👀)

Summary: Party time at Palace Arcade ends in a nasty fight and a shocking reveal. Who knew small towns had so much drama?
You stand before the Palace Arcade, staring at the neon lights and the crowd spilling from the building to outside. One 20-something-year-old is throwing up outside while her friend rubs her back. Another group of friends sits on the curb, passing a joint around while laughing. You feel a creeping sense of dread but decide to 'fake it til you make it'…or something like that.
Robin walks up beside you, sighing as she puts her hands in her back pockets. She looks at you, her head cocked sideways as she has a crooked smile.
"Sad, huh? I only come to these things to laugh at Harrington and get free booze."
You laugh, amused by Robin's clear love language made up of teasing and sarcasm. You look back towards the arcade, your legs shaky with the idea of being in a crowded room with people you barely know. Lo and behold, Steve confidently walks up to the door, holding a 12-pack in one hand. You inhale the familiar scent of tobacco, weed, vanilla, and cloves. You look to your right, Eddie beside you. There's a pack in his hand, and he moves it to his hand furthest from you so as not to bump you.
"It seems intimidating, but I swear it's pretty calm. I usually hate parties because everyone thinks I still deal. Still, usually, only the outcasts hang here," Eddie smiles softly, leaning down to have a more private conversation.
You furrow your brows, cocking your head as your thoughts swirl. You try to picture the animated and guarded man in the dangerous line of work, but your brain can only imagine a comedic parody of a mafia member. It doesn’t fit him. "You were a dealer?"
Eddie's smile falters a bit, and he looks small. He tries to look anywhere but your eyes. "Yeah, I was for a while." He looks at you, then clearing his throat, he grins again. This time it doesn't reach his eyes. "Let's head in, shall we?"
You nod, a pang in your heart as you wonder where the bright and smiling Eddie went. You look at Nancy, who is following behind and looking around cautiously. She seems to be the protective and mostly silent one of the group, clearly hanging back to make sure there's no trouble. But, of course, you knew that behavior well. You shake your head and move forward, ignoring the anxiety unfurling in your mind. This is Hawkins. You're safe.
You enter the door behind Robin, looking around. You see Steve excitedly run up and hug a young-looking, shorter man, his head full of unruly brown curls. Steve animatedly does a handshake with the mystery man and your smile. It warms your heart to see a guy you would think to be the jock and bully in high school be so sweet and almost nerdy. Steve throws an arm around the man, dragging him to your group, where Eddie immediately takes hold of him and ruffles his hair, causing the young man to groan and try to shove the much older and larger Eddie away.
"Eddie! Cut it out!" He screeches, weakly pushing against him.
Eddie laughs, a warmth filling you at the sound. He stops ruffling the mystery man's hair and turns him to you, an arm still around his shoulders. "This is Dustin. Dustin, meet my new coworker. She's teaching English."
Dustin scrunches his nose, an expression of disgust clear on his face. It seems that what he lacks in height, he makes up for in personality. "Good, that hallway has always needed someone not qualified as a fossil."
You laugh a bit, covering your mouth to hide your smile. "Thank you?"
Dustin waves you off, shrugging. "Not a compliment, more of a statement. Though I don't know if middle school kids will focus with such a young and hot-"
Eddie elbows Dustin, embarrassment evident across his face. "Henderson, manners, please!"
You fight your smile, shaking your head. It was amusing to see Eddie reprimand someone given his vibrant personality as well. You also feel some heat creep into your cheeks from the compliment. "It's fine. I appreciate it."
You're about to ask Eddie how he knows Dustin due to their age difference when a group of guys walk up, their smiles wide as they head over to Eddie. They’re all sporting a similar grungy and punk style to Eddie, and you immediately know they adore him.
"Dude! You're right on time! Chris just beat Zombie Raid!" A man with a giant grin and wavy brown hair moves toward Eddie, hugging him and slapping his back. Eddie returns the gesture and embraces the rest of the group; they all address him and smile, making little inside jokes you don't understand. Finally, Eddie sees one of his friends look at you and whistle, and he moves you gently forward, putting an arm around you.
"Gentlemen, meet my coworker. Y/N, this is Jeff, Gareth, and Chris. They were in my old band, Corroded Coffin. They're visiting home."
The men all smile and wave at you, and you feel a tingling sweep from the back of your neck to the tip of your toes . Images flash through your brain at the idea of Eddie, his tattoos, and silver jewelry on display, captivating a stage. Desire swirls in your belly, and you have to will yourself to be present. Maybe you'll use the imagery to help to 'relax' later.
"A band? What kind of music did you guys do? Metal?" You question, looking at Eddie.
Eddie flushes, scratching his chin while biting his lip. The action makes your thighs twitch. "Is it that obvious?" He practically whispers. He probably prided himself on an air of mystery, which was silly for someone so charismatic.
You shrug, smiling shyly. "The few times I've seen you, you've always worn Metallica, W.A.S.P, and Megadeth shirts. So I kind of put two and two together."
Eddie crosses his arms and cocks his head at you, his grin is mischievous, and his eyes twinkle. "You know W.A.S.P.? Are you a metalhead?"
 You shake your head, feeling the heat travel up to the tips of your ears. You don't usually like to talk about the past, but you don't mind giving Eddie this little tidbit about you. "I was a goth and around the alternative scene...So I know a little bit about metal."
 Eddie's grin is so vast you think his mouth will split open. But, instead, his eyes shine with mischief and disbelief. His friends gawk at you, almost in shock. "You were a goth. You've got to be kidding me. There's no way."
 You scoff playfully and cross your arms, glaring at Eddie. "I'll have you know, Mr. Munson, I can do killer eyeliner, and I'm always down to listen to The Cure. I wasn't always a cute little teacher."
  He laughs and shakes his head, looking towards his friends as he crosses his arms and points a thumb towards you. "Can you believe this smart mouth is gonna be teaching middle schoolers English?"
 They laugh, and you feel warmth in your bones. You can tell Eddie is the leader of the whole group by the way they look at him for approval before they say something. He almost commands a room. Usually, that would be something to intimidate you, yet all you can feel is admiration.
 Eddie's friend Jeff looks at you and smiles softly, shaking his head. "Someone's got to teach those middle schoolers how to act right. And it won't be you, Munson."
 He feigns a look of hurt as he holds his heart and scoffs. "I am the picture of perfection, Jeff. Those dorks look up to me."
 You're about to open your mouth to say something when you feel the atmosphere change. You see Eddie's friends' smiles dropping, all paling a bit. They all seem to glance towards Eddie discreetly, who is staring hard at the door. You've never seen him look so upset. You look towards the door seeing a tall blonde man standing in it. He's wearing a pale blue polo and jeans, looking like a stereotypical Country Club member. A small varsity jacket that fits him too tight clings to his torso. He's clearly not in high school but grasping onto to it. Behind him are a group of men wearing button-downs and nursing beers, all looking disgruntled by the party. The man walks into the room demanding attention with his air of superiority. You look at Steve, who's still with Dustin, and it seems a few other young adults near Dustin's age who all freeze in horror at the blonde's entrance.
Eddie's jaw is tight, and he almost seems to be grinding his teeth and anger.
You put a hand on his bicep gently, slightly shocking him and causing him to look down, his expression softening. He shakes his head and smiles softly, seemingly trying to shake off the anger.
 "Sorry, it's no big deal. That guy was just a huge bully back in the day."
 You nod, squeezing his hand slightly, trying to offer some reassurance. You were sure you knew the type. Powerful by birth, never being told no, always thinking they're right, pushing all their problems onto others with violence and forceful submission. It made you sick to your stomach.
You frown as you see the walking red flag head towards Robin. Robin is distracted with her back towards him, talking to a waifish girl with red curly hair and big blue eyes, almost resembling a young Molly Ringwall. The man laughs and taps Robin on the shoulder, who turns around, to look at him. Her face is hard to read, but you can tell she is worried, biting her lip, all the colors slowly draining from her face.
 "So, Buckley, I didn't know they allowed f**gots into town now."
With that, the entire arcade seems to silence. You feel your heart drop to the floor. You knew small towns and big cities alike always had bigots, but never did you expect someone to blatantly throw around a slur so casually. You shake a bit, wondering what to do. But then you see Steve's expression twist with fury as he heads towards the man, glaring at him and shoving him roughly.
"Shut it, Carver."
"Oh, is King Harrington trying to defend the lesbo? That's so sweet. Do you think she will fall for you, Harrington, or will she leave you just like every other whore you've had?"
Steve's expression changes into disgust as he shoves Carver again, getting kicked in the back by one of his goons. He groans but tries to play it off, pushing Carver again before getting punched in the stomach by another groupie.
Eddie squeezes your hand but starts walking towards the scene, your stomach fluttering with nerves as you wonder what he’s up to. You can't help but feel the prickling anxiety on the edges of your consciousness. You know you're freezing up, but it's been years since you've seen a face-to-face fight. A fight that didn't involve you, anyway. Your body is on full alert mode and you know if you move a muscle you may just have a panic attack right then and there. Your chest is so tight you can hardly breathe.
"Carver, lay off. Go be a pathetic bully somewhere else."
Carver's expression changes from a sneer to something almost sinister and enraged as he walks towards Eddie.
"Don't speak to me, Monson. You deserve to rot in hell."
 You feel your heart drop at those words, the evident vitriol and venom that he spat towards Eddie in his tone. Goosebumps are crawling up your body. What made this man hate Eddie so much?
Eddie's expression changes from anger to a slight softness, looking almost apologetic.
"Carver, listen. No one wants any trouble. Just leave, and we can pretend like this never happened."
"Oh, so you, like you pretended you didn't give Chrissy those drugs? Like you pretended you weren't some deadbeat in high school? Like you pretended that you didn't repeat senior year three times before finally getting it right? Face it, Munson, and tell yourself the truth. You deserve to be the one dead, not her."
Eddie's expression is so guarded and stoic, but you can see the slight cracks in the armor. The twitching of his brows, his lips being pursed, his hands flexing and tensing at his sides as he stands, his shoulders seeming to slump.
You see a tall, lanky man walk towards the front slightly, his black hair almost covering his brown eyes. He seems to earlier be standing over by Steve, who is now looking over at him and panicking and mouthing something seeming to resemble a getaway from there. Your eye catches on Nancy whose expression resembles that of horror and you can almost see the resemblance in the two, their long straight noses and cheekbones. Your stomach twists at the realization. They’re related.
"Look, Jason, we all know this was hard on you, but it's been years, man. Eddie didn't give her that stuff. Please leave the rest of us alone. We're just trying to have-"
It's only seconds before you hear the sickening crack and see the lanky boy lying on the floor as Dustin screams something and Nancy runs towards his crumpled body, panic evident across her face.
Eddie's expression changes from being hurt and guarded to pure fury. Then, finally, you see him reel back, and it seems like it's almost slow motion as he punches Carver across the face before getting tackled.
 You can't see anything except flying fists, tumbling limbs, and blood. The fight may have lasted just a minute but time seems to move in slow motion as you feel your mouth dry and you heart thump in your ears. Luckily Jason's goons stayed away from Eddie. Still, the fight continues until Steve grabs Eddie's midsection and pulls him away from Jason, yelling something you can’t quite make out. Eddie stares hard at Jason, panting while he stands held by Steve. From what you can tell, Jason’s cheek is bruised, his lip is bleeding, and his eyes are narrowed as he glares at Eddie. Finally, one of Jason's friends grabs him by the shoulder, which he shrugs off violently and points at Eddie, his whole body radiating hatred.
 "This isn't over, Munson. I won't rest until you are rotting."
 Eddie is still being held by Steve, not fighting back but looking at Jason, his expression reading as stony, but you feel a tsunami of emotions, the anger and hurt radiating off of him in waves.
 Jason leaves with his friends, and you stare at Eddie, still held by Steve. Nancy appears, having a wet washcloth and trying to wipe away a bit of blood on him as the rest of the crowd seems to slowly disperse out of the arcade, intimidated by the scene. Nancy tends to both Eddie, Steve, and the tall man sprawled out against the counter who you think may be her brother. Robin stands out of the way, her hands shaky, and she stares at the floor. She is frozen, but she clings Steve as he comes over,  hugging her tightly despite his clearly aching spine and torso.
 You stare at the scene, almost feeling like you are on the outside looking in. You didn't expect this much drama and such a small town. Yet, you can't help but question everything you've known this far about Hawkins.
That night Steve drives you and Robin home,  offering to pick up your car from the bar later. You deny it and say you'll pick it up in the morning. You are silent most of the ride, knowing you're a stranger to the rest of them and not wanting to make anyone uncomfortable. You know you didn’t earn that trust for the private information or rumor that Jason said for all to hear that night. Robin seems shaken up and almost silent, which doesn't seem normal for her. As you enter your cold and lonely apartment, you may wonder if the secrets harbored here are challenging your own…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are back at school a few days later, and it's time to start training. The morning begins with endless talk after talk from specialists and district members about ways to improve learning and what all the new educational boards think is most important for the rapidly developing young teens that will soon be entering the school. By lunchtime, your head is spinning, and you can't help but wish you could go home and nap. Instead, you decide to head to the library for lunch, knowing no one will be there since the librarian is on vacation before the year starts. You fit yourself into one of the tiny chairs, pulling out a book from your purse,  taking your legs underneath you as you comb through the small snacks you brought for lunch.
 You're completely immersed in the world of Bram Stoker's Dracula when you hear a few books clutter to the ground and the mumbles of “Shit,” coming from behind you.
 You giggle and turn your head to the side, seeing the ever-familiar Eddie, who is scrambling to pick up a couple of books. His cheeks are flushed red as he looks up at you. You feel a pain in your heart as you see a scab on his lip and a yellowing bruise on his cheek. One of his eyes seems a bit puffier and darker than usual, and you can't help but remember the eventful night a few days ago.
"Sorry, sometimes I don't realize where all my limbs are before I start moving,"  Eddie jokes,  his smile not quite reaching his eyes.
 You shake your head smiling. "Someone's going to need to put you in bubble wrap eventually."
 He laughs softly, looking down at your slightly pathetic setup of a lunch, making you curse and wish that you seemed less immature sometimes.
“Of course, the English teacher is reading Dracula. How on brand," Eddie smiles softly, shaking his head at you. Your heart warms at the fact that he's still making jokes. You hope he knows that your connection isn’t severed by that ugly night.
"Don't knock the classics. Besides, I needed something to get my mind off that zombie-inducing training. I have noodles for brains now."
Eddie maneuvers himself slowly into a seated position. He sits cross-legged on the ground, looking up at you. He nervously twiddles with his rings. In a less serious circumstance you would have laughed about the way he made the furniture look even smaller in comparison, or maybe teased him about not fitting into the small chairs. Today is not that day.
"I guess I should probably tell you what that night was about, huh?"
You think to yourself, knowing that your curiosity would love to be fed a little bit but also knowing how difficult it is to let someone in sometimes. "You don't have to if you're not comfortable. I would like to know, though."
He looks at you appreciatively and nods, biting his lip. "Well, all you gotta know is that Jason Carver has always been a bully. Even when we were kids. It didn't help that his girlfriend came to me when I was dealing, either. He was furious at the idea of sweet Chrissy Cunningham talking to me. The freak. The thing was, I never sold to anyone if I was worried about their health, you know. So one day, she came to me and asked for something stronger, and I sort of blew her off because I knew she was having a hard time at home and didn't want something bad to happen to her due to carelessness. I offered to give her a little weed and let her come to my house and let some stuff off her chest. She stayed a while, talking about her mom and stress and some nightmares she’d been having, then left. I was taken in for questioning the next day.”
Eddie is shaking slightly, his voice soft and thick with emotion. You place a soft hand on his shoulder, squeezing it gently. He looks up at you, eyes glassy with unshed tears as he sniffs a bit, trying to blink away the blurry vision.
 “Jason also bought from me despite what he claims. But he bought stronger stuff. So when she stole from him and my secret stash while I was in the bathroom, he thought I was the one who sold it to her. And I kick myself daily for allowing her to even get near the stuff. The cops thought me and Jason were both guilty, but couldn’t find any proof. Jason still had it pinned on me, and during my very last year, he made my life a living hell by doing anything he could to punish me. Any horrific thing, you name it, he did it. He still holds it against me. The whole town does. Thinks I peer pressured Chrissy into buying Special K and killed her. And I get it. She was an amazing girl and so kind. But I can’t change my mistakes."
You look at Eddie, a swirling feeling of sickness. You knew sometimes people had to fight to survive, and clearly, he just got the short end of the stick. You were surprised to hear so much compassion for the man who nearly gave him a broken nose, but his heart still seemed to harbor it. His guilt was overwhelming, as was his sorrow. You could tell he wanted to go back and fix his mistakes, right his wrongs. Even if it wasn’t his fault. You nod to Eddie, playing with the edges of your book, feeling the worn-out pages between your fingers.
 "That's really intense. I'm sorry,” You offer weakly, kicking yourself for not being more eloquent with your words.
Eddie waves you off, shrugging. “It’s fine,” He mumbles softly, still fiddling with his rings in thought. The two of you sit in silence for a bit and you itch to ask him another question.
"How many years were you a senior?"
 The question is plaguing you, and you must ask, even though it may seem inappropriate.
 He smiles a crooked grin that seems unamused but slightly self-deprecating. "4 years. So my senior years were basically another whole high school experience."
 You laugh a bit and shake your head smiling. You look at Eddie, your eyes soft with admiration, and you hope you can get him to understand what you see. It's clear that he's grown up through some hard times and gained some thick skin, but you can also see that Eddie is not sour or even a little rotten about all the curve balls that life has thrown at him. You have a tugging feeling in your gut that there's even more you don't know about, but you decide not to push it.
There's a comfortable silence between you as you read your book and eat. Eddie sits on the floor looking at you and occasionally snacking on what seems to be a bag of candy he pulled from his pocket. Then, finally, he offers you some, and you take it,  reading out loud softly so he knows what's happening. He didn't ask you to, but something about it felt right.
 After you finish the chapter, you close the book and turn towards him, holding out of hand for some more candy which he rolls his eyes at you exaggeratedly but gladly gives you some more. As you chew thoughtfully, his eyes seem to sparkle with the same mischief that pops up here and there around you. You can't help but be reminded of a childhood favorite book. Peter Pan. Eddie wasn't a child, nor was he a selfish fae child, Yet he had an lingering air of youth about him that just caused your skin to tingle and your stomach to flutter.  "So… You and Bauhaus, huh? What's that about, Tish?”
"You're too stubborn to die."
In which Damien helps the DA in a compromised state.
TW: angst, injury, blood
Pages: 15 - Words: 6,000
[Requests: OPEN]
A regular Sunday for the mayor of Los Angeles was, surprisingly, incredibly similar to that of any other thirty-year-old working man. It was one of Damien’s only days off in the month, and he treasured them like the holy grail; if his job was to hold endless amounts of paperwork, incessant meetings with countless people, and public speeches to bore the masses and himself, then his day off would be filled with as many relaxing activities as possible.
Damien wandered around the apartment, a watering can in one hand and his cane in the other. The doctor had long since said that he didn’t need it anymore, and that his insistence that he did was only psychosomatic, but it was more than that. To him, it was a grounding tool. If things got rough, and, in his profession, it was more of a when, he could grip tightly onto the stick and find comfort in the stability of it. Metal is not an easy material to break, and he much preferred it to messing with his jacket’s edges or cuffs. That meant, no matter how many of his veins popped through paled skin, it would always be there for him.
Now, though, he was content. The sun was shining, the windows let a blissful breeze flow through, and there was the distant hum of the radio from the kitchen. It couldn’t be more perfect. Sundays were always this way, like entering another dimension where famine had been decimated, all wars ended with the flick of a pen, greed, pride, envy wiped off the map. Even the air he breathed felt lighter.
There was a bounce in Damien’s step as he moved around, singing quietly along to the tune and thinking about his next projects. Getting all of the plants watered was number seven on his checklist – and, yes, it was in his back pocket while he went through the motions – but with only nine left to go, he thought he could get some recreation in. Maybe pick up a new book, you were raving on about ‘The Mysterious Rider’ yesterday, or he could swing by Celine’s place. Though, that place always did give him the creeps…
And you were going to be back in an hour.
The memory still made him smile, how could it not? He had been so excited but so nervous to ask you on a date, he’d double-checked and triple-checked and one more check for good measure. Hell, he’d planned the day out to a T, given that you’d even say yes. But Celine had convinced him you would, so he prepared flowers, reservations, outfits, all so that nothing could go wrong.
Then everything went wrong. He didn’t like focusing on that aspect of the story, it only made him wonder how he ever got you to go out with him again, but it all ended in a pretty fun evening, if he did say so himself. You’d assured him that it wasn’t all for naught, and that you’d had a good time, going so far as to ask if he was free a couple nights after. That one night turned into three nights, and then nights turned into days, and then, after a good few months, you’d gone right ahead and moved in together.
This was your apartment, too, it was where you came back to every evening with a tired smile and ready to have dinner together – and this night was to be no different.
Or Damien thought, until that hour passed, and he remained the only person in the room. But that was fine! He could hold out, and you probably only got caught in traffic or something. It just gave him time to get started on that book. It was absolutely nothing to worry about.
After taking it gently from the shelf, he settled onto the couch, a pillow behind his head and comfortable in evening clothes. The first sentence crossed his eyes, and he took in all the information he could as he read through the first chapter. It left him with questions, but that was fine, because you still weren’t back. Another half hour passed, and when he looked back up from the pages, he noticed that he had unconsciously shifted to be angled towards the front door. He tried to tell himself that everything was alright, he didn’t have to worry, work was probably just getting the best of you. Lord knows he wasn’t one to talk.
So, Damien kept reading, and when his eyes started to strain and holding up the book was too large of a chore, he went and made a cup of coffee. This was the first time you’d been late home, and what kind of partner would he be if he was asleep when you, surely, came back.
Minutes later, he was sipping idly at the kitchen island. The window across from him showed shimmers of orange and red, the cityscape of Los Angeles almost teasing him where he stood. You were out there somewhere, and he felt lousy not knowing where that was.
He took another sip.
The wall-mounted clock ticked by. Seconds felt like hours, and every one that dropped into the bucket pushed him closer to the edge. His jacket swayed on the hook, his shoes just below them. It would be so easy to get a cab over to your building and check how you’re getting on – you’d be hunched over your desk, taking a call from precinct cops who couldn’t do their jobs right, and then you’d see him, and you’d apologize for not getting back. He’d be fine with it, of course, and he’d end up helping you in the case that had its claws in you.
Oh, but he knew that he couldn’t do that. His heart thudded in his chest, his hands shook, but he respected your boundaries. It’d only been a month since you moved in, after all, and he didn’t want to overstep anything that quickly. Heaving a not-so-relaxing sigh, he vowed that he would stay right there in the apartment until you got back, no matter how long it took you.
By the third hour, he was starting to reconsider that.
The soles of his shoes were burned into the wooden flooring, his pacing surely annoying the neighbors below, but he could care less. Show him that you were alive and well, and he’d stop, but he had yet to see any clue as to your wellbeing, so they’d have to deal with it. He hated this, he hated this so much. Pointless waiting and irreverent, troublesome thoughts. They had no use to him, but he didn’t know how to get rid of them. They burrowed into his mind like an infestation of roaches or disease.
Tick, tock, tick, tock. He was going to throw that clock out of the window if he didn’t get ahold of himself. But what else was there to do? He’d completed all of his chores, even the ones he promised to leave for the next day, and he found himself waiting like a puppy at the front door. His eyes wavered over it, hoping for it to open just an inch to show he wasn’t stuck in purgatory.
Whatever higher power there was seemed to take pity on Damien, because not two seconds later, the creak of old wood broke the ticking of the clock. He almost sprung to his feet and launched himself at you when you entered, but he held himself back, if not for decorum, then for the sight of you. You were the most gorgeous person he had ever laid eyes upon, but he was not one to lie to himself; right now, you looked terrible. Your skin tone had lightened so much that you appeared ill, and your chest was rising quicker than before. Were you sick or had working three hours after your shift finally got to you? Damien didn’t know, and he didn’t care. Taking care of these symptoms was his top priority.
“Darling?” he called out, still restraining himself from rushing to your side.
You didn’t answer. Instead, you lugged yourself towards the bedroom, completely dismissing hunger. You were far too tired to think about that, the bed, comfy cushions, and a warm blanket calling to you.
Damien caught your arm before you could get too far, though, with a concerned grimace playing on his lips. “Are you alright?”
He sounded worried, and that was the last thing you wanted – never mind the fact that it was well-warranted – so you heaved a tiny smile and muttered, “I’m fine, love, just tired.”
He still wasn’t satisfied, that was obvious, but you weren’t paying attention to that. A kiss on his forehead from you, a noise of discontentment from him, and you were on your way to the bedroom, trying to focus on your feet as to not trip over warping wood. Everything was slowly fading away at the edges of your vision, consumed by blackness and turning the rest fuzzy.
You knew exactly why this was happening, you knew it was bad, but no way in hell would you let Damien know. You loved him more than anything on the earth, but he was bound to worry about you more than necessary. You’d be fine, you silently promised him. You had to be.
Nearly six hours later, the moon was high in the sky, casting a shimmer of gray dust across the landscape. Light reflected off of windows, night walkers stumbled over rocks, and dogs howled in the alleyways. Patters of rain caressed against the city, warning of a dreary but calm morning.
Even with that promise, Damien couldn’t sleep. He had work in the morning, his day off having ended at the stroke of midnight, and yet the thought of leaving you in the apartment was horrifying. You had knocked out the second your head hit the pillow, leaving him to his thoughts, and they centered around just one thing: were you alright? He couldn’t believe you were just tired, since you’d woken up bright and early the morning before. He was almost insulted you thought he’d fall for that, but he was too worried to mind.
He dragged a hand through his hair. It tickled at the nape of his neck, though he hardly cared. What if something was wrong? Really wrong? His heart thrummed against his ribcage, like if it hit hard enough, you’d wake up and tell him what was wrong. But his ribs didn’t crack, and you didn’t wake up, and Damien was left sitting in the armchair by the window with tired eyes. This wasn’t doing any good, and the sun was due to rise in a few hours; he figured he might as well make you both some breakfast.
Damien shuffled out of the bedroom, a dark robe swaying across the floor and his cane stepping beside him. He held it tight while he made his way to the kitchen, where he noticed blurry chatter. He started confused, which quickly morphed into fear, and then his cheeks brightened in silent embarrassment. What he had thought was a robber was just the radio he had forgotten to shut off. He was glad you weren’t awake to see him creep around the corner, stick raised to thwack however was in there.
He turned the volume down and went to work. After so many times missing breakfast, Damien wasn’t sure what to make, so he decided on the only thing he knew how to decently cook – waffles, and even then, there was a chance they would come out burnt.
The crack of eggs and dust of flour was comforting in a way to him that only a childhood meal could be. In the earliest hours of the day, there would be no consequence to adding a gram more sugar than needed or cooking them for a second too long. The waffle iron steamed and sizzed in front of him once the batter was poured on, almost making him laugh. He let himself smile for the first time that day, the sense of warmth and lightness filling him.
“It has come to our attention that – last night, at the Dimmock Public Health Centre – the district attorney of Los Angeles was shot in an attempted assassination—”
Damien’s smile collapsed.
“—The D.A was rushed back to a car that was seen heading away from the scene, while police were contacted to find the assassin. We have not heard back from our sources about their wellbeing, but we have been assured that they are no longer in danger. Despite this, there has been speculation as to their current location and the reaction of federal agents—”
His own heartbeat cut off the radio, pounding against his head like an overzealous drummer. The smell of burnt food wafted into his nose, his vision toppled over the edge, his hands sweat, his feet moved before his mind could catch up. You weren’t ill, you weren’t overworked, you were shot. And he didn’t realize, and you didn’t tell him, and you weren’t waking up.
You weren’t waking up.
His cane slammed against the footboard, but you didn’t stir, not even a huff. He would have begged for you to groan or berate him or say anything, but you didn’t. You stayed quiet, and Damien’s breathing grew louder.
He tossed himself to your side, strew the bedsheets across the floor and saw, red as a rose, blood. It seeped into the fabric, like bacteria overcoming a wound. God, your wound. Normally, he would ask your permission to lift your shirt, but this was urgent, so he disregarded the crimson staining his hands and pulled the hem up.
Tears flooded his eyes as fear flooded his heart. A lazy medical patch had been slapped onto the entry hole, half of it having peeled off already and the other bled through. Damien had never trusted the medical professionals present during speeches, and this only deepened his distaste for them – but he’d deal with them later. For now, he had to wake you up.
First, he whispered shakily, “Come on, wake up, dear.”
No response. He tried again.
“Dear, please.”
No response.
“C’mon, you have to wake up, please.”
No response—
A cough.
You were alive, you were panicked, but you were alive. Eyes shot open and limbs rushing to get you out of bed, but you were stopped short by your own hiss. It felt like you had been shot again, more tissue and muscle ripped through with no regard for the nerves there – it made you think the bullet had been laced with something, hellfire, poison, but no. Dismally, you remembered the paramedics removing the metal as quick as they could, but speed was favored over kindness. The hole pricked again in response.
Coming down from the small adrenaline high, your eyes focused back in on Damien, who kneeled in front of you. He looked worse for wear, and you wondered if he had been injured, too. This wasn’t true, of course, and the drop of his shoulders gave you some relief, though the slight wet patches dripping onto his cheeks had you furrowing your brows.
“A-are you okay?” you mumbled, tentatively grasping his hand.
A weak chuckle tumbled out of him, fading like the whizz of a stone dropped down a cavern. He squeezed your hand tighter, remaining wary of your state, and asked, “Are you?”
Your attempt to nod was interrupted by a rack of coughs shaking your very body. They didn’t stop, not even when pain splintered away from your wound and all breath vacated your lungs. You weren’t fine, that much was obvious, but, when you’d calmed down from the fit, you settled on staying quiet.
Damien had been your friend for the majority of your life, but, after a year at the very most, it was obvious how much he worried. If you told him there was a crack in the pavement, he’d cross the street to avoid tripping – and if you told him that you were at risk of passing out from pain, you’d be suffocated from his fear. He was such a mother hen; the thought nearly made you laugh but you stopped yourself before you could be overwhelmed by coughs again.
The man sighed at your silence. Unbeknownst to you, not giving him an answer was making him more scared as the seconds ticked by. He pushed away stray hairs that had fallen into your face, trying to see the truth in your eyes. Comforting, obviously masking injury, you stared right back.
“We have to get you to the hospital.”
If it were Damien in your place, you’d agree in a heartbeat, but you were the one lying in bed, blood sticking clothes to your side. Your partner, however, was the mayor of Los Angeles, they could barely go a day without him. You didn’t want to risk taking up his precious time, when some disaster could strike that he’d have to report on. In your mind, it made the most sense for you to go about your daily lives and for you to just deal with it throughout the day. The shot wasn’t that bad, and you’d seen bills for a paper cut before.
Considering this, you found it in yourself to clear your throat and reply, “No, we don’t, I’ll be fine.”
“We have to get your wound checked out, I mean,” he gestured vaguely to the stained area, “those medics were clearly frauds- they didn’t even dress it right, and it’s coming off already, and you’re bleeding—”
You pulled his hands closer to you, fingers curling around his own in a silent reminder to calm down. His volume was steadily rising, which meant his heart rate was, too, and you knew how he got when he was overwhelmed. These past hours had already put more strain on him than you had wanted.
“I’ll be fine,” you repeated, offering a smile. He responded in kind, but his was more placating than agreeable, “if it was anything to worry about, I’d be in the hospital, now, wouldn’t I?”
Damien mulled this over in his mind. On one hand, your logic was sound, as always, and arguing with you had long since proved a fruitless venture. On the other, he didn’t like the thought of leaving you to your devices, as if you’d never been injured in the first place. What if something happened to you and you didn’t notice? With nothing else to do, he decided on a compromise.
“Okay,” he conceded, and, for a second, you thought yourself safe – you might have even gotten down to the offices for some paperwork – but Damien’s hands darted to the discarded sheets and re-tucked them around you.
Damien was going to look after you himself.
He was scarily efficient in how he moved around the room, gathering spare pillows, blankets, anything that would make you feel more comfortable in the bed. By the end of his little escapade, you looked more like a bird in a nest than a human. You couldn’t deny how proud he looked, though, and it would be easy to let your eyelids slip down for a few more minutes…
But you snapped to your senses and summonsed your will to talk. “Don’t you have to go into work today?”
He paused, back turned to you, at his position drawing the blinds. “…Not necessarily.”
“Damien,” you drawled.
The hairs on the nape of his neck pricked up and his face felt the power of a furnace. “Well,” spinning around, he did poorly at hiding his blush, “technically, yes, I do – but the office can handle work without me, just for today.” He slid into place beside you, resting a hand onto your shoulder. “You are more important.”
Normally, you’d jump at the opportunity to spend more time with your partner. Your schedules weren’t exactly kind in allowing you to be together, and moments with him were treasured more than those without. However, at this second, your eyebrows furrowed, and your lips pouted. Most of the time, you’d be forced to get rest, confined to bed while Damien ran errands to ease your weary soul. That was the last thing you wanted, and the only way to convince him to hold back would be to get him out of the apartment entirely. Besides, this wasn’t as big a deal as he was making it out to be, you were sure.
As if he could sense your resistance, Damien whispered, “I still have three hours until I go. I’ll take care of you, and then we’ll assess the situation.”
Sneaky. Damien might have been reserved and shy in public, but you have seen you’ve seen your fair share of his mischievous, sly side. Despite hardly ever getting practice, he was worryingly good at getting what he wanted via cunning means. You both respected and feared that aspect of him.
He left a kiss on your forehead, now, and rose from the bed to restart his preparations. If he had the time, he would’ve crafted some kind of checklist, but getting you a glass of water and medical equipment was top priority. That, and salvaging what he could from those burning waffles.
When he was back at your side again, your eyes having slipped closed once or twice, skin being tugged away from muscle caught your attention. The patch had been badly applied, but adhesive remained against the wound that meddled with blood slowly spurting out of the cracks. Divots sprang red and raised flesh curled around the hole like a mountain range. It made Damien’s stomach squirm and flip, but he focused his expression to clean the area.
As you looked down at the man, ruffled dark hair a mess from stressing and still in his robe, your heart swelled with love. He was your partner, and it was crazy to think you were his. Even after four months, everything felt like a haze, a dream you were scared to wake up from, because you knew nothing would come close to this. Carefully, you shifted your arm to caress Damien’s cheek.
He glanced back up at you quizzically, a look you only returned with a smile. Shaking his head, he returned to his work slightly more comforted than he was before.
Nearly half an hour passed in this fashion; Damien patted off the dried blood, replaced that medical path with a bandage around your waist, and managed to get your mind off of the wound with excerpts from ‘The Mysterious Rider’. You appreciated everything he was doing, down to the way he’d pause when he noticed your eyes drooping. Most of the time, you would shake yourself awake again with a yawn, but there were the odd times when you felt yourself drift off for seconds at a time. These bouts of fatigue never lasted long, and, while you were thankful for the brief rest, the expression on Damien’s face had you staying awake longer.
Every time the curtains closed even slightly, a mix of emotions spurred in him, melting over his eyes, and giving you a first-row seat to his thoughts. Half of him was glad to see you comfortable enough in this nest, it liked seeing you warm and sappy – but the other half was always scared that it might have been the last time you’d close your eyes, as if he hadn’t done a good enough job to keep you alive, and it would be all his fault that you… slipped. But that all wiped away when they opened again, revealing your familiar and welcoming irises. Full of life.
Even though you both knew how he felt, he prefaced the start of the next chapter with, “You can fall asleep, you know.”
You couldn’t deny the fact that you were tired – getting shot would do that to you – but worrying Damien any more than he already was, was at the bottom of your bucket list. So, you lightly shook your head and replied, “Nope, I’m so awake, I could—”
You were, helpfully, cut off by a yawn. Damien looked at you from his armchair, unimpressed, but you continued, nevertheless, “—I could finish a case. Maybe go back to work, in fact.”
At this, he became alert, the sharp spike of fear prodding him in the side. “No, not yet.”
“Damien,” you pleaded.
“I said ‘no’.” As he stood, his cane felt like an earthquake against the wooden flooring. Inwardly, you sighed; you’ve never liked getting into arguments with him, mostly because he was normally the one in the right, but it was unavoidable. Damien had work in two hours, and getting there was a quarter of that, and, before that, there was changing into his uniform. He was neglecting doing any of these to take care of you, and you found it hard not voicing your opinion about that.
“Look,” you started, sitting up straighter in the bed, “how about we do a test run?”
Damien stopped himself from getting through the doorway to listen to what you had to say. Still, he was thinking through getting a cold rag in case of a fever, but most of his attention was directed towards your proposition.
You continued, tentatively, “You go on a walk, alright?” Disagreement stirred inside him the second ‘go’ came out of your mouth, which you could see and began battling immediately, “And we’ll see how I get on alone.”
He thought over the scenario, practically moving his head to the direction of his thoughts, until he rushed to your side and kneeled down. Your hand was soon encapsulated in his fingers, warm and worried. “What if something goes wrong?”
“It won’t,” you promised, leaning forward to peck at his lips. Really, you couldn’t be sure it would be alright, but it was worth trying just to see the blissful and hope-ridden look on Damien’s face. “It’s not like I’m going to die if you’re away for two seconds, love.”
With one more sigh and a slightly longer kiss for good luck, he began to get ready for a walk outside.
Five minutes in, Damien was spiraling.
His tolerance for being away from you had plummeted since the day before, and the glum of the streets was getting to him. It was indeed raining, turning his polished boots gritty from dust swept through the pathways, and it was difficult to discern what were droplets from the sky or from his skin. Despite the cold brushing against him, the worry he was experiencing was sending him into overdrive. He couldn’t tell if he was warm or cool if he was still walking or if he had made it past the first few steps to your apartment. It felt like he was having withdrawals, but there was no way he’d go back. Not only would he still be scared for you, but the disappointment you’d feel seeing him was something he’d do anything to avoid.
So, he took in a deep breath and tried to steady his beating heart. It was horrible, but he put himself through it. For you. He hoped you’d be proud, but he also hoped you’d be asleep when he returned.
The day was… nice, he supposed. Not many people were out this early, a few older gentlemen he passed with a wave, but the most popular of the species were stray dogs. One in particular he saw often when he was heading to or from work. The street had a nickname for the poor thing, and they’d elected to keep it there with spare scraps from the table or chew toys out of old pig’s ears. Benjie, if he remembered correctly, a golden lab that had been around for the last three years.
Fondly, Damien thought back on when you and the dog first interacted. He knew you loved pets, especially the over-active, wholesome ones. You’d requested him stay with you as soon as you saw him, even wagered you’d get him groomed and trained into a proper house dog. He rolled his eyes, you patted on his arm and vowed that, one day, he’d be the most pampered pup in all of Los Angeles.
But that had yet to come to fruition. Benjie was still out on the street, taking leftovers of roast dinners and maintaining a rough coat. Maybe, when this whole ideal was over, Damien would bring him home.
It was with that thought that a whole new cavalcade of bad ideas flooded his mind. They stopped him dead in his tracks, and – following that them – paled him beyond recognition. He flopped against a brick house, steadied his cane in the ridges of cobblestone and thought back on the very reason why you were in this position to begin with.
There was an attempted assassination. Someone had attempted to assassinate you. It hadn’t settled with him, until now, that someone powerful had hired a killer to end your life. And they had nearly succeeded, and you had nearly died, and—
And if they weren’t able to do it the first time, who was to say they wouldn’t try again?
Damien’s vision blurred together, buildings crumbling together and horses in the distance clicking like the trigger of a gun. He had to get back home, to you. God knows what could’ve happened to you in the time he was gone. You’d said you’d be fine, sure, but you were suffering from massive amounts of blood loss, and he loved you, but you were never the most logical person in the first place.
His feet were moving regardless of thought or will to. His eyes were clouded with possibilities and his mind overtaken by sorrow. If you weren’t okay when he got back, it would be all his fault. Why did he have to be such an idiot? He should have stayed with you, and he didn’t, and now you were suffering the consequences of his stupid choices.
He stumbled across the stones, plucked his cane from holes and brushing off the coattails of early risers. They were confused, but he didn’t care; all that mattered was getting back to you as quick as possible. Tears pricked up in the corners of his eyes, those wide windows scanning the street for your front door, and when he came to it, he all but ripped it off its hinges in order to get in.
Going two steps at a time was too slow for him but falling back down the stairs would be of no use to anyone. Still, he pushed himself to get to your apartment at a record pace. One mantra echoed through his mind while he struggled to your front door. Please, be alright. It was wish, to you, to any higher power, to anything that could better the chances.
His heart plummeted in his chest when he saw you lying on the ground.
Damien’s eyes whirled around, inspecting, for a second, for any hint as to what happened. Your arms were flattened out in front of, appearing to have cushioned your fall, and the only blood visible was what had leaked through your bandage.
Nevertheless, he fell to his knees next you, tilted your head up and looked for any other sign of injury. Hope overcoming horror, you seemed okay. Passed out, but okay, so he took his time in carefully drawing a hand up and down your body. Your heartbeat was steady and fine, your skin was barren of unexpected blemishes, and your eyelids were just beginning to flutter open again.
“Damien…?”
The second that he heard your voice, Damien captured you in a tight hug. Of course, at a hiss of pain from you, he pulled back, but you were going nowhere. The strict shift in temperature from the outside had him in whiplash and waking up with your back against the floor was doing you no better. He buried his head in your neck, both to keep you as close as possible and hide the tears beginning to flow. Not entirely sure of what was happening, you pat his back with one hand and cradled his head with another.
You shushed him and pecked at where you could, in the midst of whispering, “Hey, it’s all okay. I told you I wouldn’t die.”
Damien sobbed.
You held him tighter, an embrace solid enough to assure him you were really and truly there.
Exhale shivering in the air, he mumbled against you, “N-no, you’re… oh, you’re too stubborn to die.”
You smiled, ignoring the situation and thanking you lucky stars that you’d landed such a loving man.
“I’m here, love, everything’s okay.” Another kiss, and he lifted his head up to stare at you. Despite you being the one to have been shot, have passed out cold on the ground, you were comforting him. How had he ever gotten such a kind soul? He didn’t know, but he knew he was grateful, and that he’d do anything to keep you.
Shakily, he muttered, “Come on.” He secured his arm underneath your shoulder and lifted you to stand, against the twitching of his cane. The weight of two people was forgiven when you were up fully, and he gently sat you down at the island while he gathered your shoes and coat. “We are getting you to the hospital,” he announced, and that was that.
Being the mayor of Los Angeles had some drawbacks; long working days, the eyes of the press, social obligations – but there were definitely some advantages, not least of all being able to order anything with impunity, whether that was a public car, table at a restaurant, or being to stay in the room while nurses flittered around your partner. At this point, leaving your side felt more hellish than he expected hell to be, and, though he hated abusing his power, he was not about to wait in the hallway for the next hour.
So, by your side Damien stayed. The nurses poked and prodded at you, uncaringly prescribing you unlabeled medication, and redoing the bandages. He wasn’t ashamed to say he relaxed when they left you along, finally. At least he understood when enough was enough – or, he thought so, because if he told you that, you’d probably regard him unimpressed.
He caught your hand – noticeably less pale than it was before – in his own, and cradled it against his chest, as if fearing you’d disappear when let go. But, with you safely inside a hospital and treated by professionals, he could finally calm down. His nerves had been going haywire ever since you’d been late to dinner, but they found no reason to not settle down under his skin.
“You know, I love you.”
Damien perked up before sending a confused glance your way. Why were you telling him now? Was there something that he didn’t know? Had you been shot, had someone tried to kill you again—
“I nearly died yesterday, and,” you laughed awkwardly, as if you were telling a crude joke, “I kept thinking, what if I never get to tell you again?”
Now, he was fully turned to you, and it was then that he saw you were started to cry. He’d never seen you look like this before, wet cheeks and red eyes. His eyebrows involuntarily bent, and he squeezed your hand tighter.
You continued on, “I don’t want you to forget how I feel, and I think that if I had to live without you, I—” You cut yourself off with a sob.
Without a second thought, Damien moved to sit next to you on the bed, bringing you into his chest and cradling you as you cried. He peppered some kisses along your ear, neck, anywhere that could comfort you. He thanked his reputation for getting you a private room, lest you have to deal with people looking in to see the mayor and the district attorney communicating affection.
“I love you, too,” he responded, tone having never been more sincere.
You stayed like that until the nurses came back in, singing praises of Damien’s handiwork and pointing out your conditions. You would have to stay for a while longer, and you didn’t miss the proud smirk on your partner’s face when they told you that you should’ve come in sooner. Still, you laughed, rolled your eyes, and kissed him on the cheek. That normally shut him up, and this time was no exception.
Sighing, he sat back in his own chair, hand still caressing yours. “Do you still want me to go back to work?” he teased.
You brought Damien’s hand to you face, planted a well-intentioned kiss on the upper part of his hand, and winked. “Never.”
He felt himself lucky for being in a hospital; he was sure he could have died from a heart attack right there and then.
[Thank you so much for requesting - I'm sorry this took so long, but I'm glad that I got it out in the end! Gotta say, when I saw that I was allowed to injure the DA, I was already scheming. It did suck that I couldn't put a heart-rate monitor joke in though, since they hadn't been invented yet, but eh, the trade off is that we get nervous Damien waiting for you to come home. Again, thanks for requesting]
It starts like any other Ace Attorney case. You and your silly assistant are visiting some unique locale, having fun, meeting quirky characters, and all that. After a while, someone dies. The murder mystery is set in motion, and the police arrives to arrest the main suspect, who asks you to defend them in court. There, you maneuver around the different witnesses and pieces of evidence, in search of the true killer, with an indomitable desire to bring the truth to light.
And you don't want to believe it.
You don't want to believe it, but it's staring at you right in the face. The truth. It begins as a creeping suspicion in the back of your head, and it grows as you collect more evidence. You don't want to believe it, but there's just no way around it. It all points to one person.
To you.
A reckless mistake you committed during the day of the murder inadvertently led to the death of the victim.
You, the lawyer, are the murderer.
But your desire to bring the truth to light is as indomitable as it was when the trial began. With the same conviction as always, you yell objection, and point out that your client can't be guilty...because you are. The judge finishes the proceedings with a resounding victory for the defense, and you're scheduled for a separate trial a few days later. Your suspicions are confirmed.
Of course, this is involuntary manslaughter, you're not going to death row or getting a life sentence. The chain of events that bound your actions to the victim's death was very contrived, so you're getting a year or two at most. But this is Japan Los Angeles, and that's sure to leave a permanent stain in your name.
When you're released, what do you do? Your law agency has changed a lot in these two years. Your fellow attorneys and assistants tried to take good care of it, but its popularity took a nosedive after the incident. The future is uncertain.
Anyway this is my pitch for the first episode of Ace Attorney 7 Capcom hire me
Dissimilar Twins AU
What if Vee escaped Belos's grasp years before Luz's arrival in the demon realm? What if after her escape she sneaked inside Eda's portal/ fell inside Titan's blood pool and ended up in the human realm? What if Camila, Manny, and an 8-10-year-old Luz found her?
Remember this post? Well,  since a certain someone (@zombibble) already took the idea and is making their own story with said premise, I decide to give it a twist! resulting in this new story I'm present you over here. Althrought I have many plans for this AU I'm currently busy with other stories so for the moment enjoy this little taste of what is to come...
Her half-sleep-awake state went to a sudden halt upon hearing something. hard to say exactly what, at first it sounded like a single step then… nothing.
It was 2 Am. Mama and Papa should be sleeping. Which only means that…
...Someone is robbing us? Luz thought, unsure of the true source of the sound or where it originated, she could hear and feel her instincts instructing her to remain quiet.
She hesitated to make a move, maybe it was just Mister Toledo, that raccoon, for whatever reason, liked to hang out around her home's backyard. Or maybe she just imagine everything-!
*Creak*
It wasn’t her imagination, that old creaking wood slab between the kitchen and the living room…
There is someone inside the house.
She knew Mama and Papa would tell her to stay in her room, where she would be safe while they deal with whatever was downstairs. So she waited, seconds turned into minutes, but nothing more happened. But what if the house was being robbed? Mama just started working at the animal hospital, so she always came back home exhausted late at night, and Papa, while now working from home, still needed to follow the doctor's orders and rest as much as possible.
More sounds, this time, it was the recognizable screech of one of the kitchen cabinets.
It was Luz's turn to support the family, for once, she will be the responsible one!
"Nada funcionara, amenos que lo hagas funcionar"  time to follow Mama's example!
She slowly creep out of bed, took her favorite yet only bat, and started her descent downstairs.  Her descent was slow, each step carefully planned to make as much sound as a feather. No lights were lit, so as to not alert the intruder who sounds like be thrashing around the kitchen. She could barely make up the silhouette of the figure, now opening cabinet after cabinet, sniffing whatever they got their hands on, and placing them inside the bag they carried- oh! And They are wearing a cloak? mysterious...
Finally arriving at the living room and getting a closer peek at the enigmatic person... they looked small, like, really small, almost as small as her! Their size caught her off guard because she was hoping for a malandro (criminal) she could knock out cold and drag their unconscious body to Mama and Papa. they would be so proud!
But what if they are just a kid? but... entering someone's house without permission was still a crime so -Then the wood beneath her creaked, a single foot slightly sinking the slab located between the kitchen and living room.
The sound alerted the intruder, and their eyes instantly lock on Luz.
From within their cloak, a set of ample, weirdly contorted eyes stare back at her, their eyeballs were a mixture of blue and yellow tones, seemingly burning through the shadows of the night.
Time froze for the both of them and although Luz tried to keep her composure, all of her initial bravado evaporated. The grip on the bat loosened with each passing second. Her body shivered under the gaze of what it has now realized wasn't an intruder... or human, but an animal-
-A predator
Luz tried to flee, but each step backward was painfully slow, her body came to the realization that it now carried the weight of something delicate and invaluable.
That thing being her own life
The human didn't dare to stop looking at the creature which followed all her movements with unbreakable focus. It wasn't until it decide to shorten the distance between them that Luz discovered what lay underneath the cloak- A claw decorated with shining black talons came out and was coming for her-!
Luz let go of her bat and screamed.
At least once a week, Alcina will have to deal with the girls bringing home a stray cat, dog, goat, even a varcoloc one instance.
She loves her girls more than anything, but she absolutely refuses to have any pet short of a fish in her castle
Love this, I've actually thought about this a couple times! I hope I did well, I sort of brain farted towards the end lol. Enjoy!
Alcina cleared her throat, trying her best not to sigh and crumble to the floor.
"Mother, please? Look at it! Isn't it so cute?"
Daniela, ever the excitable youngest daughter, had a very oversized and grumpy looking black cat in her arms. If Alcina looked closer, she could've sworn the cat looked a little familiar.
"Please, Mother. We'll take care of it!" Cassandra was tugging on her mother's dress, a big pout set on her lips.
"Yes! We even have toys for it!" Bela pulled out a tree from behind her back, that was not at all subtly hiding back there. All three of them either had innocent smiles or a pout on their faces.
Alcina looked between her daughters and actually did sigh this time. She hated telling them "no" but she refused to have a little pest running around the castle causing even more mayhem than she already needed. This was the fifth week in a row she's had to tell them to put a creature back outside, tears and all.
"Darling, please put the tree back outside. Do not bring trees inside the castle, how many times have I told you?" Alcina scolded Bela softly, humming comfortingly when her daughter responded with "aww, man".
"Okay, but what about the friend I got for the cat!" Then Bela proceeded to put out a hissing honey badger. How she managed to keep it quiet, much less get a hold of it, was truly a mystery. At this point, Alcina had a vein slightly protruding from her forehead.
"No! No friends! No cats! No friends for cats! Out with that," Alcina pointed at the extremely disinterested feline, "and it's friend!"
"But Motherrrr" Daniela whined, stomping her foot a little. The countess pinched the bridge of her nose, grumbling about why she raised her little flies so spoiled, they were never used to being told "no", ever.
"I told you, my bug. There will be n-" Alcina paused, doing a double take when Bela creeped closer, holding the badger out to her mother.
"Just lo-"
"Out!"
The next week:
This was the worst day of Alcina's life.
And she's lived a long life.
"Absolutely not." In front of her stood her three daughters and a bleating... whatever that was. The pest was making all sorts of honks and squeaks, constantly chewing on something.
"But it's cute!"
"Please, Mother? Then we'll stop asking!"
"It's so helpless, we would keep it safe!"
Here they were again, begging Alcina to keep some random creature inside the castle.
"I can get you all a fish, how about that? You like fishes don't you girls? Remember all the fish books we have in the library?" Alcina clasped her hands together, giving a tensed smile to her daughters. They all looked so cute and it was the hardest thing in the world to deny them, but Alcina couldn't take the risk of something important being chewed up, or even worse, thrown back up.
"But we want this one, Mother!" This time, Cassandra was the one holding the animal, not even minding the way it was nibbling on her clothes and hair.
"How about this, I am going to take a nice bath and you, my darlings, can play with it until I am done. But it must be gone the second I am back." A compromise could work, Alcina wasn't too good at those, too used to just taking what she wanted.
The three of them looked between themselves, several indiscernible looks being shared. Alcina gave her best pleading smile, hoping that she could let her girls have this, and they wouldn't ask again.
Wishful thinking, right?
They nodded to each other then looked up at their mother, giving innocent smiles and a silent agreement. Alcina had a very bad feeling about this.
"Okay, I'll be back. Behave. And for Mother Miranda's sake please, keep an eye on that thing."
Alcina sighed. She couldn't remember a time she had been this lenient toward someone, much less three people. But they were her daughters, and she loved them dearly. Maybe she would get them a fish, or maybe a hamster? No, certainly not a hamster, one of them would eat it and claim it to be an accident.
Gods, Alcina could imagine seeing Daniela with her cheeks puffed and the hamster cage empty. The giantess groaned, trying her best to sink further into her tub as if she were trying to disappear. She let her thoughts run freely, closing her eyes and relaxing.
"Maah"
Alcina's eyes never opened faster, her eyes immediately zoning in on the goat that stared right into her soul across the rim of the tub.
The girls didn't know any better as they dug into the thigh of an unknown animal later that evening.
They wondered where their temporary friend had gone when Alcina finally made it back downstairs, but their mother simply told them it must've run off when they weren't looking.
The next week:
Alcina had been resting in her chambers, peacefully asleep, when she was awoken by licks and panting against her face. While she appreciated her daughters' affection, she thought they were long past their phase of affectionate licking from when they were "younger".
"Girls, it is muc-" Alcina growled the second her eyes opened all the way. Unless her daughters had turned into a dog overnight, then there was something seriously wrong. The mother groaned in exasperation when she realized what was happening.
"This cannot be happening.." She mumbled. Then she peeked an eye to see the canine was sat happily atop her covers. To make matters worse, Alcina moved her hand only to come into contact with something that felt too much like a slobbered chew toy and she dearly hoped it wasn't exactly that.
Alcina nearly lost all her marbles.
"Puppy? Puppy, where are you?" A harsh whisper came from behind the cracked door, making Alcina look up to see Bela creeping into the room. She was hunched over herself and looking around frantically.
"Bela! Did you find it ye-" Then came in two more hunched figures, all of them abruptly pausing when they found their mother sat up and the dog turning its head to joyfully bark in the direction of the daughters.
Alcina stared at her daughters, who were split between glancing at her and the dog, while the pest had turned to look right back at the countess.
"Get. It. Out."
The next week:
It was Friday.
Castle Dimitrescu has not had any recent pest visits. Alcina could almost cry in happiness. Maybe her daughters had finally stopped. Though the thought did make the mother feel a little guilty. Maybe she could talk to the Duke to see if he knew any places to adopt puppies.
As Alcina was just about done filling out paperwork and filing them away, she could hear a muted crash come from outside her door. She got up immediately. Was it a maid? An intruder?
Opening the door, she was greeted with her worst nightmare. She could vaguely remember the beasts her idiot brother spoke to her about, though she didn't give it much thought before the beast turned towards her with its very... very ugly head and roared.
"What the fuck." Was all Alcina could say. She snarled right back, her claws unsheathing the moment she noticed the beast was crouching, ready to pounce.
"Mother! Wait!" The shouts of her daughters made her pause, giving the creature an opening to jump at her.
...Only for it to start licking her hair the second it latched on. A deep frown settled into Alcina's features, her hands and claws furiously waving through the air.
"What is the meaning of this?! What is this- this thing doing in here?!" Her daughters only smiled sheepishly, immediately pulling out their pouts and puppy eyes.
"We found him wandering the forest!" Daniela shrieked a laugh and giggled while clapping her hands.
A growl and a tongue swiping across her face had the countess grabbing the abomination by the back of its neck and wrenching it away.
"You- you get this out of here! It does not belong here! Return this beast to where you found it!" Alcina shook the creature in her grasp before she dropped it. She watched as it scampered to her daughters' sides, tearing up the hall and somehow knocking over a vase, even with a distance so short.
"But-"
"No!"
"Isn't he cu-"
"No! He's not! Now get it out!"
Alcina sighed harshly, rubbing her face with her hands, nearly taking out her own eye in the process. She watched as her little bugs skipped away, giggling and playing around the Varcolac. The mother could already tell what was coming the next week.
The next week:
"Mother! Look what we found-"
"No!"
You did say that adapting to Twilight’s atmosphere makes you feel more comfortable. How did you and your people manage to handle it?
Tumblr media
" magic, obviously. " with a beckoning motion a tome glides out from a nearby shelf to come and flutter open just above her grasp. the pages turn on their own to a passage that the queen has deemed relevant to her interest, eyelids lowering in temporary concentration to pick something from its contents.
" 'lo these so called fields can nary be considered a pasture akin to that of the realm of light. no sustenance can be brought forth from their ashy soil, nor any light to bring our seeds to fruition-' blah, blah, blah... " with a derisive tsk the woman rolls her eyes, the pages flipping wildly to another passage, though she barely gives it a glance before a mordant smile creeps across her face.
" on it’s own the Twilight Realm isn’t particularly harmful, but living here without having been… let’s say, an ‘original resident’ wasn’t easy, " the still floating tome lifts along with her hand, a gesture to indicate why she had brought the apparent diary out. " if you didn’t adapt, you didn’t survive. simple as that. as the queen i have the honor of having access to these personal accounts… very few of which are pleasant, hehe. "
her snicker is equally as skewed as her expression, though its sharpest edges dull oh-so slightly when her gaze returns to the book. the once hard curl to her lips softens to hide her fangs, the sight of which had only offered a dangerous edge to her smile. despite her obvious derision towards it's previous owner, the twili seems incapable of maintaining disgust. or, perhaps, she has more history with this tome than one might automatically assume.
with a hum she finds something else that grabs her attention inside, but it's contents remain a mystery to all that do not hold it.
" but our ancestors were tenacious. what couldn’t be found was made, even if it was feeble. and over time their new home changed us as we changed it. " her other hand lifts so that a finger may trace something across the book's pages, as if following a line to one side to the other, dipping occasionally to follow a possible turn or curl. once it reaches the other side, the corners of the queen's mouth lift again, though it lacks the severity of it's earlier iteration.
the hand below closes, and with it the book snaps shut with a slap of finality.
" of course, all of that took place a long time ago. not that light dwellers would find our home unpleasant, but we twili have made the most of our realm, and it to us. "
