Ooh fuck, no, what am I thinking. Tell me about Speak Into the Silence. What a good title.
Yay I’m glad you asked! (And yes titles are hard, but song lyrics are lifesavers) this is set during the blip, bit canon divergent. Tony is alone in his cabin, suffering under the weight of all the people they lost. Here’s a little snippet:
Tony sighed. If he knew Steve, and even after all these years he was certain he did, he would be staying as strong as he ever did. Helping others as much as possible, keeping firm to the belief that there was still good to be found in the world.
With an aching clarity, he knew what he needed. Usually when he felt this bad he smashed something into tiny little pieces. Or got hammered. But it always ended with him crying himself to sleep.
He couldn’t do that tonight. He couldn’t be alone and he couldn’t stay in this house for one more second. He grabbed his keys and was speeding away in minutes.
What he wanted, what he needed, was to be told that everything was going to be okay. Even if it was a lie. He just needed to believe it. Just for one night. There was only one person with the surety to do it. Despite everything.
If Steve Rogers told him that he was going to be okay, he knew he would believe him.
——
Basically hurt/comfort, mutual grief, bed sharing, first meeting since cw, resolving issues, and figuring out their feelings for each other.

Hello :) What's your favourite David Tennant character?
Oooh, that's a hard one.
I absolutely adore so many of his performances, but his Doctors (Ten, Tentoo, Fourteen - I'll take them all) are always going to be sentimental favorites for me. I've been a Doctor Who fan since I was a youngster during the Tom Baker era. When I started watching new Who in 2005 I figured no new-fangled Doctor would ever take the place of the fondly-remembered favorites from my childhood, but David absolutely shot to the top of my best Doctors list, then went on to become my favorite actor as well. My kids also became Doctor Who fans during David's time, so watching the show together became a fun family event! As much as I adore Crowley and Alec Hardy and David's Hamlet and Benedick and Richard II (and love to hate his Kilgrave), it's hard to top his Doctor(s) in my heart.
...but there are so many other characters I also love. So, so many. Objectively it's too hard for me to choose, so I'll stick with the sentimental Doctor answer. 😊

Cockatrice Ankake and an Eastern Style Meal
Got my trusty clay pot out to make this one. Ground turkey for the cockatrice stir fried with pumpkin and kohlrabi with some soy sauces, ginger, white pepper, and shaoxing wine for seasoning. Used dashi (from the other dish's seaweed soup), soy sauce, mirin, sake, and corn starch for the egg sauce. Came out really well but a bit wet on the bottom so I didn't get as much of the crispy grains I wanted. Maybe because the barley was precooked.
Most of Maizuru's meal I got from the store. They had shochujikomi mackerel in the freezer area that I baked up and I had a bunch of pickles saved up in the fridge that I pulled an assortment of. Made my own simple seaweed soup and onigiri.
So filling, we couldn't even get through half of it tonight. A couple more pics of the components of the bowl below the cut!

So, he has a new series out so I was reminded of my obsession with Ding Yuxi again and in watching some YT video about the new series I was again struck by how fascinating it is to me how different his looks can be. For example, when I watched the first series with him in the main role (The Romance of Tiger and Rose; which yes, I'll readily admit, I agreed to watch in a large part because I saw him on the poster and was like, well, I wouldn't mind seeing more of this 😏), there were two ~versions of him – in the historical and the modern setting:
And like yeah they all wear those wigs in historical dramas so that's not particularly remarkable, right. Little did I know that this was just a tiny tip of the iceberg
Because then when I went to look him up afterwards on YT etc. and the first pictures I saw were these:
about which I was at first like, is that even him? Like the face is just ... not the same in these? But ok, what do I know, anyway ... And then I watched an interview where he has yet another different look, and that seemed kind of in between, so that "bridged the gap" in a way. And then! – in that same interview – they juxtaposed him with another of his earlier looks:
and it's like, who tf is this person ?
It's just, idk, really amazing how much just different hairstyles, lighting, makeup, accessories will do. Obsessed
Other interview looks are nothing extreme
And obviously there's supposed to be more variety when looking at the different roles
But still, sometimes I'm just like, this is one person .....
And like, sure, these looks obviously aren't impossibly different, but comparing the different ends of the spectrum can be pretty wild
In any case, the one that brought all of this about was this latest one:
and idk at this point I shouldn't be surprised anymore. And yet ...
Anyway, I do actually love his acting too lmao
It really is ... delectable 😌
