With the changes there also have been introduced Primium Currency. Crithit is free to play not free to run. The site hosting renews in August and the goal is to get $150 for hosting and other site admin things. You can support Crithit via the Midnight Mischief Kofi. Anything earned via the kofi goes back into Crithit. Get a commission, sticker, keychain, pins, in game items, tips, anything made from the Kofi goes back into the site.

Memberships added to the kofi. Join one of the Membership teirs on Kofi to get enough currency to get 2 mythical or 2 otherworldly MYOs depending how you choose to spend. You also get a random trait item of that teir (mythical or otherworldly) Mythical member is $7 and otherworldly member is $10

hi, i wan't to throw my 2 cents in.

you exchanged art for rewards. you used someone elses character to earn currency. so it's not unpaid for.

in any situation. if your use someone elses property for profit you ought to allow the owner some compensation. this is living life 101 stuff. updating a toyhouse page is all people want. and it's what they deserve because the character is their property. uploading your art to their th page is completely normal in arpgs and actually a sign of respect.

toyhouse is an imperfect website. i've had pages refresh accidentally or time out while uploading art before. therefore miscrediting myself as the artist and losing the description when submitted. usually i catch it right away but one time i was politely notified of the mistake by said artist and i promptly fixed the error. it's not uncommon. instead of doing that you immediately assumed the worst of the character's owner. it's a shitty way to treat someone.

you're making it sound like because the owner left the art description blank on the character's toyhouse page they're automatically guilty of artificially inflating some value tracker. but on a lorekeeper species, it's impossible to falsify value. these things have to be appraised and updated by staff on the site because it's baked onto the character's page through the back end. obviously if they tried to appraise your art the staff would know it's prompt art and not allow any value to be added. this is really basic stuff. no paypal receipt, no value. you're making an issue of something that hasn't happened and cannot happen.

the owner should report you to staff and you should have your rewards revoked and art removed from the lk site for doing this. in fact the cs should write a rule addressing your conduct as wrong so other normie artists know how to behave if they want to join in.

any arpg player here can see your logic is delusional. this is not a victory for you.

"if you don't like what an artist wants with their art, then just don't work with them" i'll turn your excuse around on you. if you don't like how we do things in arpgs. don't play with us.

if you need your own perfect personal bubble to be comfy you don't belong in arpgs. role play means working together and compromise.

I'm developing an ARPG!

To those unfamiliar with the concept ARPGs (Art Role Playing Game) are groups in which you draw/write about your characters for that group doing various things to take part in and complete various activities such as breeding, questing and fighting. Epoch is planned to feel overall similar to ARPGs such as Dracostryx, Kukuri, Primeval-Age, Souls-Between and others like these.

Epoch is an ARPG focused on extinct reptiles from Mesozoic Eurasia specifically, such as dinosaurs and pterosaurs. It will have a variety of fun features such as genetics and mutations, traits that influence performance in different areas and a unique approach to herd/pack groups and questing that aims to encourage players to develop the personal story of their animals. Epoch is being developed with a semi-realistic angle in mind, with the visuals and gameplay both being influenced by reasonable speculation for the species involved.

The first 6 species that will be available to players are ones specifically chosen that were important and influential to paleontological history: Velociraptor, Protoceratops, Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Pterodactylus and Ichthyosaurus. More species are planned for later updates once the game is released.

I can't give any concrete dates on when Epoch will finally be ready to play, as it is still fairly early in development. While the bases are done there is still a lot of work to be done on the art side of things to get all the assets and guides ready, along with setting up the website that Epoch will be hosted on using the Lorekeeper framework. However I intend to update regularly on development progress over on this blog here @epocharpg so please follow if you want to see more about this project. I've already posted the first dev update over there!

In the meantime, here's a sneak peak of the bases for the starter species!

Heyo!! 

New update, traits, prompts and transformation,

SPECIAL PROMPT RELEASE!!: FATE DESIDES attach the correct amount of currency to get a randomized Dicer or Masklet MYO!  An example is in the comments of the submission you say "Iwould like a Dicer/Masklet" and you would attach 6000 shards or 60 chips. This would mean the MYO you get would have the chance to be Common-Supernatural in traits. The myo with ita specified traits will be created with you as the owner. You CAN add other trait items to your submission when submitting the MYO for approval!

Im honestly excited for this and plan to use this for adopts and givaway characters!

Traits: New traits have been added!!

Glass head (supernatural): your characters  head is transparent and their brain can be seen, it can be filled with a liquid or slime. (If used on a Masklet whatever their substance is will be what fills)

Feelers (uncommon): little round alien like feelers  grow on your character 

Shaped iris and puple (rare) : the iris and or puple is shaped

Keychain (rare): tail is a keychain OR head has a keychain. 

 Prompts And Transformation: three views of a character  can be unlocked, inner element (requires Scroll of elements), Alt Element (requires scroll of fusion), and gear (requires gear scroll)

Inner element is your characters powered up state of their MAIN magic type. You must do the prompt Mastering Magic to earn a scroll but its only ONCE per character.

Alt Element is your characters fused magic power up state. Example I have a character  with TIME magic and I do the Mastering Elements 02 prompt allong with submitting a magic tome item to add UNDEAD  magic. This prompt is ONCE per character also

Gear up is a main quest prompt where you are encouraged to check out the Tavern shop to pick up gear and equip them to your character.  You can only do this prompt once BUT you can do the Gear Update prompt to get the same item that allows you to submit a gear update.

I don't want to open a species for several reasons, one of which is the amount of effort put into getting characters, items or myo. I want you to know that I enjoy closed species not as an investment, but as a community and the challenge that the species provides me. I want to put in the effort to get myo, items or characters and that is why I don't want the species to become open. Terra for me is balanced in getting myo, items and currency and I am completely comfortable (or have been, at least when it was active) in them. At the end of the day, if you want Terras to be free and free to do, why don't you make one-offs?

If Terra ever become open (completely), many aspects of their "arpg" will become meaningless. Prompts, foraging, items and currency will become meaningless when the species is fully open. If prompts can remain, they will become unneeded - why would you try to meet a prompt deadline when you can draw art anytime you want. The reward still won't recoup your investment, if at all. This is the reason I don't want the species to become open - most of the interactivity will become meaningless in my eyes. On the other hand a semi-open species with paid mutations retained looks better than an open species.

In the end just opening the species looks like suicide for the design approval department - I'll have to try and do something with the approvals if the species is going to open intelligently. Either at full opening don't check anything at all and let anyone and everyone in, I don't know.

Speaking of ownership, I'm endlessly bitter that nothing will change. I'm that person who loves the concept madly and who wishes with all my soul to be at the head of the species and work hard for it. Unfortunately my dreams will never come true. I am not a friend of Tycho, I am not a friend of moderators and administrators, and as we know staff just LOVES nepotism.

I am an artist myself who owns a lorekeeper species. I've been working on the site for a short time but I already understand and know many times more than Terra's current staff. I know that you shouldn't upload images that are 1k by 1k pixels. And that 4 mb is too much weight for foraging images. And that images should be drawn in the same style, and that they don't need to be that big and detailed, I know that too. So I could really fucking invest and finalize SO MUCH in the damn thing.

I'm crazy about the concept and furious that it's all going to go to waste. And no matter how hard I try I'll never be at least an artist or writer with them because I'm not their friend or favorite. And no matter how hard I try, I can never make this species better. As long as nepotism thrives there, any effort will be for naught. I just have to endure and imagine what it would be like if things were different.

for your first point, i can agree that the fun of cs comes from the prompt grind—that is the whole reason for the game elements, but terras specifically has really nothing worth it in terms of interactivity. you can do the prompts, but you only get pupas for myos. myos really have no point because approvals are slow as fuck rn and there isnt a lot to do with the characters besides more prompt grinding. items are near worthless, grubs ARE worthless, and the way the economy is now it might as well be open. terras offers nothing that other soecies dont do better and more fun, and any improvement moves at a pace slower than a geriatric snail. its just. not. worth it. i get what youre saying with opening the species making the economy “meaningless,” but as it is now (and has been for almost a year now) the economy is ALREADY meaningless

considering design approvals have been left dead for months right now, i think terras could take a lot of pointers from impims in that regard, with the basic subspecies being free range and only having the required visor head, and the lim subtypes needing a special item. that way you get to keep the arpg element of it while also opening the species and not needing as much work. you can have fun events and prompts within an open species, ive participated in a few that do lots with their community.

the fact of the matter is nothing WILL change, and it seems youve acknowledged that. if you really love the arpg grind, i recommend seeking it elsewhere, because terras has never offered anything special. hell, it barely even meets the standards set by other species.
