This is about Kethric and ????? Homophobic coded??? Statistically and logically speaking, there are going to be queer people that you do not get along with and that you don't like in real life. That's just the way people are. And it's not because we're queer, it's because we're human

#throwback to that time I was a freshly out queer kid and was congratulated multple times for not being too queer#the therapist I had to see to get my letter for hrt was happy that I was binary-trans(?) and proceeded to go on a rant about NB identities#*during a therapy session*#there are many spaces that had meaningful impacts on me and I still don't know if I was accepted there#or if I was just palatable#people will ignore your identity and call it support#there was no point to this btw#sometimes you just need to make bad art for that collection of feelings you don't have the words to fully encompass#I love seeing such visibly queer people#and hope that is one day me#my art

Highly recommend the Seaweed Brain podcast for anyone that doesn’t understand the importance and impact of the sun and the star, they go into such deep detail through each chapter and what each decision in the story means and why it is the way it is, I genuinely couldn’t fully appreciate tsats before I listened to their podcast episodes about it
I already loved it, but I had fried my brain reading so much leading up to tsats and so much went over my head until I listened to those episodes

I’ve seen the idea of an Elrond/Durin/Disa thruple being thrown around and I love it for several reasons. Mostly found family fluff reasons if I’m honest because unlike Legolas and Gimli, I feel no sexual tension. Only queer romantic/platonic. Durin and Disa are a married couple but they also have this elf who just kinda... hangs out. And Durin is ridiculously sappy with him and they kiss quite a lot and he likes hanging out with Disa and they like to sing together (his voice can’t help with the survey singing but it is lovely to listen to). And the other dwarves are baffled.
Are they just really good friends? Has there been a secret wedding no one has heard about? Is this just an Elf Thing? Elves aren’t normally so touchy feely, are they?
Mostly I love the idea because that gives probable cause for Elrond getting joint custody of the dwarrowlings.
Gil-Galad: Um. Elrond? Who are they?
Elrond, with two dwarrowlings pulling on both arms as they try to explore different parts of Lindon simultaneously: My kids.
Gil-Galad: ...Your what?

Whats the thing that tipped it romantic for you in shadowpeach? Mine was macaque calling wukong a gem (pretty gem in spanish) and i know lots of people was the sun and the moon, but you said it was the s4 specials for you
s4 specials for sure! Their argument in 4x11 is what made it click in my brain.
I think a lot of what we see before then can be interpreted in a very platonic fashion, and for me personally I don't read the "You are such a gem" line as romantic. Macaque is a dramatic theater kid, and he's pretty antagonizing, so nothing ever made me think "oh. they're exes".
Even in 2x07 with the whole "sun and the moon" bit, Macaque and Wukong's past dynamic is compared to MK and Wukong's current one, as well as to MK and his friends ("The moment the hero got real power, he couldn't care less about his friends! That's you bud.").
Then 4x11 gives us added context on what their relationship had been before everything, and it's like: oh. There's more than friendship there. But there's also more than romance there.
Honestly, I don't even think they knew what they were, but either way their broken relationship hurt both of them. The bitter feelings they both have for one another show, and maybe now they can get to working past that and understanding themselves and their relationship better.
