I just saw the LD teaser trailer, and dear god I'm excited but on my upteenth rewatch i saw Brad in the corner (when they meet up with the mirror universe version of themselves) and aaaaaaaahhh he looks so hot with a beard but also very grown up.... I feel like it's going to be a very similar transformation to Spock's in Mirror, Mirror in TOS...

Before is still good-looking, just (in mostly Brad's case) a little cuter, i guess. After is much older, more manly, more handsome.

The season 5 trailer for Lower Decks gave only the briefest of glimpses of the alternate timeline Cerritos bridge before cutting to Captain Becky Freeman introducing herself. So I captured the moment above to point out we have Boimler with a beard, a very cyborg Rutherford, and Shaxs with a ponytail.

Holy crap, not so long ago at the end of last season, I opined that a Lower Decks version of Parallels would be great.

And guess what just show up in the lower decks season 5 trailer!

Captain Becky Mariner. (No sign of an AU Sito Jaxa yet though)

Errant and random predictions for the final season of Lower Decks:

(some if which that I don't want to be true but do think would be interesting and/or possible routes they could go)

Tendi and Rutherford become a thing, even if in a Data/Geordi "we spend all our time together so everyone assumes we're a couple at this point" situation

Bradward picks up the saxaphone but Ransom already plays it and so much better

Some possible romantic hinting at Mariner and T'Lyn (this is a gay hope of mine alright leave me be)

Captain Freeman retires/promotes to admiral and Captain Jack Ransom takes over with Mariner as his Second for some reason for max hijinks

An Enterprise focused episode. I dunno how, but I at least want a decontamination room scene

Peanut Hamper somewhere. I hate it, but Peanut Hamper

Boimler gets another promotion

If they wanna get oddly serious, Boimler dies?

Fashion episode. We need more Trek fashion flashbacks alright

Mariner needs to be in command of a group of ensigns, at least one of whom is obnoxiously insubordinate towards her

The alternate reality version of Rutherford from the trailer has all his original memories

Another Crisis Point episode! Or, rather, I'm thinking that there will be a fake epilogue at the end of the finale where it looks like it's a few years later and one of them has been given their first command, but then it turns out to be on the holodeck

Ferenginar joins the Federation

There's an actual serious episode where some supporting character gets "redshirted"

A Planet Killer joins the battle in the opening credits

Everyone gets promoted up to lieutenant in the finale

Not quite a cliffhanger ending, but something that demands closure occurs in the finale

Something happens that's relatively innocuous on its own terms, but ties directly into the backstory for 'Prodigy' or 'Picard'

Avery Brooks guest stars. (I'm not actually expecting this, this is blatant wishcasting. But even so.)

Over the past four seasons, Star Trek: Lower Decks has offered a new, animated, and certainly more comedic perspective on the long-running franchise. But the show's upcoming fifth season will, alas, be its last. With that in mind, the series will be finding ways to give its characters a proper send-off during the new episodes. Tawny Newsome, who provides the voice of Lieutenant Beckett Mariner, spoke at a Comic-Con panel and said this new season will see Mariner hit an emotional growth spurt.

Star Trek: Lower Decks will start streaming its new season October 24 on Paramount+.
