Request: Your best friend's with Helena but you have a crush on Luke. She doesn't know and she thinks you don't like him or approve of him but you just like him. Luke tries to talk to you about why you're so distant and wants to see what he did etc. Reader ends up saying that nothing can be done and she has to keep her distance cause she has feelings for him even though she knew she wouldn't do anything but it hurts less for her. One-shot the society. Thank you in advance.

You and Helena had been friends for years and in the years that you had been friends you had never spoken about the boys that you liked which was how you ended up in this situation, if you had you would have realised that you both like the same boy but instead you were called to Helena’s as she told you that she had a date.

“Helena!” You called as you walked into the house, her parents weren’t home and she wasn’t downstairs. “Upstairs! I need your help!” She yelled as you jogged up the stairs after kicking off your shoes, you walked into her bedroom and looked at the mess of clothes strewn around the room. “Well this is a bit of a mess.” You said as you leant against the doorframe. “I don’t know what to wear, I never thought that he would have asked me out, I don’t seem like his type.” She mumbled and you raised an eyebrow. “Who?” You asked. “Luke.” She answered, you felt the air leave your chest as you registered the name. “Holbrook?” You asked. “Yeah… Is there another Luke?” She asked. “I was just making sure.” You answered hoping that the teasing would throw her off the scent, you didn’t want her to know that you were upset about the development in fact they both deserved to be happy so you’d just have to suck it up and deal with it. “He asked you out so don’t change anything he wants to date you, the way he sees you everyday.” “You think?” She asked. “I know.” You smiled and she nodded as you helped her put everything back in her wardrobe. She wanted to do something to forget about the nerves for the date, so you didn’t talk about it any further.

It was a long while before you had to see them together but when you did it got harder, you tried not to let them know and you were sure that it was working because neither one of them had spoken to you about your behaviour, until one night you were at home having told Helena that you didn’t feel like going out after she told you that Luke was going to be there. There was a knock on the door and you frowned, you weren’t expecting anyone to come around. When you opened the door you were confused, Luke was standing outside your door. “I thought you were supposed to be with Helena, is she okay?” You asked. “She said that she didn’t want to go out, she’s worried about you, she thinks that she did something wrong so I said that I’d come and check on you.” He answered “but honestly I don’t think it’s her, is it?” “What are you talking about?” You asked. “This only started after we started dating and you're not the type to get jealous.” He said. “How would you know that?” You asked. “You're a good friend, you’ve been with Helena for as long as I could remember, you’ve never been jealous of her hanging out with other people.” He shrugged. “So it has to be something else.” “Stop.” You ordered and he looked at you. “Come on, just tell me, what's so bad that you can’t hang out with your best friend?” He asked. “I can’t…” You said attempting to close the door but you didn’t get very fat before he pushed the door back open. “What’s going on?” He asked. “You don’t want me… And that's okay but I can’t watch you and her be happy. You both deserve to be so I have to be the one that steps away, I hope that it’ll get easier one day but right now I just have something to work through.” You finally answered, you didn’t wait to hear what he had to say, instead closing the door when his hands fell to his side in shock and slid down the door head pressed against it as you cried.

I think that the 2010 remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street had a lot of potential, but there is just one (1) aspect of it that made it fail:

Remake Nancy should not have been the main character.

Like I get it, she's Nancy and she was the Final girl in the first one! But she should not have been the final girl in the remake, specifically because she is the least interesting and least likable character in the entire movie.

I think that the remake does something unique in that it follows each of the different characters up until they are killed by Freddy. For a very brief moment at the beginning of the movie we are focused almost solely on Dean, then that focus switches almost solely to Kris, then when she dies it switches to Jesse and we begin getting a bit more of Nancy and Quentin, then Jesse dies and our focus goes solely to Nancy and Quentin.

I like this! I think its a great way of keeping people on their toes about who is who in this situation, who is the hero of this story? And then when we switch to Nancy and Quentin this falls apart.

At that point in the movie it becomes clear that Nancy is the hero, the "final girl" (for most people they would have already known, but some might not have). The thing about Nancy though? She doesn't do anything.

Like genuinely up until the plan at the end of the movie? It's Quentin doing everything. Genuinely.

Quentin is with her when they confront her mother, Quentin confronts his own father about the parents killing Freddy, Quentin helps wake Nancy up multiple times, Quentin helps break Nancy out of the Hospital.

Not only that, but Quentin takes such drastic measures to stay awake and fight Freddy, I mean bro straight up steals Adrenaline from a fucking hospital.

It was one of the reasons that I was so frustrated watched the 2010 movie, like Nancy just doesn't do anything and it was rough to watch!

I'm not saying that she should have been killed or anything, I just think they should have focused less on her if they wanted her to have that more passive role. Less on her, more on Quentin, and we can still let Nancy have her moment at the end of the movie as the bait for Freddy.

One last thing:

This isn't me saying that the 2010 movie was bad, it was meh in my opinion, but others may have loved it! I will also admit I'm not a very big fan of the original either and I find that one rather boring. This could also be me talking from a Quentin lovers perspective because that boy is one of my favorite horror characters ever. These are just my thoughts on what could have made the movie better.
