{ Who, What, Where - Scene Two }

Caelus shouldn't be entirely surprised that he got paired with his best friend, considering they did both join the class together- but it's still nice that they randomly got partnered. What he doesn't like, however, is what was written on his prompt card. Well- only because he worries a bit as to how March would react to his character's specific motivations. He remembers how concerned her and Dan Heng ( and Seele and Bronya ) looked at him after he gained the Preservation's Blessing. Maybe that will work in the duo's favor in creating a good scene- since it will be a bit too natural of a reaction from the both of them- well, mostly from March ( unfortunately ).
Enter stage. Spotlight active. And- Action!
Chaos surrounds the environment- debris everywhere, a low level of "smoke" caressing their ankles, distant roar of collapsed buildings disappearing in fires- enters a single man, holding his side where a noticeable red ( not the real color he'd "bleed" [gold].. but the audience doesn't need to know that ) stain soaks the entire area under his fingertips.
❛ This.. This isn't looking good.. I'm.. running out.. of time...! ❜
The lad looks beaten up ( the makeup artists did a real good job! ), and the visible limp of his takes tiny steps forward, scanning the area around him- snappy jolts back and forth of his head showing how desperate the silver was searching.. What was he searching for? A person. Specifically, a head of pink hair with iced tips. A friend. And Caelus doesn't have to "search" long before he finds his target. A shaky exhale of relief, and the Nameless stumbles forward, excitement and solace mixing to paint his face as clumsy feet take him to at least meet the lass half way-- before he can no longer stand, crashing to his knees. Caelus makes his voice as scratchy and out of breathe as he can- making sure to emphasize the exhaustion and comfort he gets just from seeing March surviving the "End of the World". He still has a chance to do what he set out to do- before it's too late for him.. for the two of them.
❛ There... There you are..! Hah... Thank.. Thank goodness- you're alive.. ❜
march 7th hates this before it’s even begun.
she’d been giddy to see caelus’ name listed down as her partner. she always delights in the opportunity to do things with her friends. but then she kept reading. and reading. and then he walks onto the set and—
it’s like all of her worst nightmares have come to life before her eyes. her stomach twists at the sight of him. and it’s stupid, so stupid. she knows it’s not real. it’s not even remotely close to right—red, so red, in place of sparkling gold. but her expression crumples anyway, delight turned to dread in an instant. how many times has this happened already? he hasn’t even been with them that long, but how many times has he almost died? actually died?
what is she supposed to do if, one day, he actually does? and doesn’t come back?
anyone, she thinks now. please, they could have given her anyone except caelus. she’s not going around calling herself the world’s greatest actress by any means, but if she could have had a stranger here instead, at least she would actually be able to find the words instead of standing and staring at him like an idiot.
“…i’m alive,” march echoes, her voice hollow. maybe it just seems like convincing acting to everyone else. that would be nice, she guesses. at least it would look good for the camera. she doesn’t really care. her body moves on autopilot as she meets him halfway—of course she does, because real or not, he’s her best friend. she will always try to catch him when he falls. she sinks to her knees next to him, her hands settling on his shoulders, sliding uselessly down his arms to settle over his hands. her skin chills automatically at the tide of emotion, ice forming at her fingertips like there’s a real wound to even be tended to. “and you’re…alive?” her voice cracks. she doesn’t mean for it to. it would be really stupid to cry here.
it’s not real. he’s fine. and yet quieter, but far more insistent, he’s not fine. he’s not. she swallows around the lump in her throat. “how did you…” her voice is scratchy, but unlike caelus, it is no act. “what happened…?”
the world is ending. it’s a funny question to ask.

A Helping Hand

PAIRING: Peruere/Jean x Male Reader (Romantic) (Separate)
SUMMARY: Their crush on (Y/N) only grows stronger after they witness a kind act
Peruere never has a moments rest; not as Arlecchino and not as “Father”. She has to balance a life that leads to no happy endings for herself. All for the sake of her children. And although it is a tough burden to bear, it was a necessary sacrifice for everyone’s sake.
At least, thats what she thought. Until she met you, a young man who just wanted to lend a helping hand to those in need. Life dealt you the wrong cards that led to a more difficult path; not much money, not much strength, but a lot of courage.
Lyney said you wanted to help out at the orphanage for a little, just to see the kids smiling faces. Peruere was cautious at first, and even though she allowed you entry, she kept their more “dangerous” activities in the dark. Freminet was tasked with keeping an eye on you, as a safety precaution.
Slowly, however, you began to weave your way into her heart. She had more time to sit back and think, the children were happy, and…she was happy. For once, in a long time, she actually smiled. Not having to bear the burdens of responsibility alone was relaxing. A feeling she hoped to never forget.
A soft humming voice lead Peruere towards the room of sleeping children. It enchanted her, like a lyre played to lure in unsuspecting travelers. Only she knew whom the voice belonged to; (Y/N).
His voice held a honey sweet melody, and a comforting embrace. Like her voice. Peruere rubbed at her eyes, “It’s too late to be thinking like this,” she whispered. A yawn escaped from her mouth, despite her best efforts to remain silent.
The lullaby came to an abrupt stop. He turned around to look outside the ajar door, only to find nothing. He smiled softly, a slight chuckle escaping himself.
Peruere hid away on the side of the house, having rushed out of view. Her heart was pounding, a small, barely noticeable blush tinted her skin. The humming had resumed, slightly louder this time. “He knows,” she thought. Sighing in defeat, she slumped down to the ground and relaxed on the wall of the house. Her eyes became heavy, and before she knew it, Peruere was fast asleep.
She woke up with a blanket and pillow that day.
Another day of endless work. Piles of notices, requests, complaints, and everything else tiresome swarmed up what used to be a clean office space. She took one day off…one day…and it came to this. Jean could feel another headache incoming.
A knock on the door gave her a rush of relief. A conversation, even if it were more work, was a small break from the inevitable. Her hero, you, walked in. A fellow knight that worked closely alongside Jean for a long while now. You’re also a long time crush of hers.
The smiled that graced your face fell immediately. “He knows.” Jean knew the gig was up immediately, and leaned over her desk, giving up without even trying to deny it; she was exhausted!
Dark circles under her eyes, a grumbling stomach that wants brunch, aching bones, stiff shoulders, and sore wrists. You got to work, grabbing and taking her home, where she can sleep in bed. You even left a plate of pizza from Cat’s Tail for her to eat when she wakes. With Jean taken cared of, it was time to get to work.
After a nice long nap, and a full stomach of pizza, Jean was ready to head back. However, upon opening the door to her office, she saw a clean stack of papers, filled out completely. Her office was shining so brightly it looked brand new. And a sweet aroma from the potted dandelions filled the air.
But none of these were as shocking as what she’d seen in front of her; (Y/N) was passed out in her desk chair. Slumped over and snoring softly. She giggled before sighing, “If I was more diligent…you wouldn’t be putting in so much effort.” She walked towards him, brushing his hair gently.
She looked at him with a smile, blushing as she continued to pat him. She didn’t notice the knocking on the door for but a moment. “Ah! Yes come in.” It was Kaeya giving a brief report on his recent trip to a fatui base. As soon as he was there, he was gone.
And once again, Jean hadn’t noticed a change in her surroundings; she hadn’t noticed that the snoring stopped, or that the chair creaked slightly. That is why it was a shock when she was suddenly engulfed in a warm and tight embrace.
She looked up at him, (Y/N), a blushing and shocked face gazing back at him. He only smiled in return, burying his face in the crook of her neck.
“If you weren’t so selfless, I wouldn’t have to.”

More Arlecchino Husbandry!
Cw: implied violence or possible violence: FMAB reader! Reader is called mother! Slight yandere themes (not full on though)
summary: continuation of Arlecchino Husbandry with more of a domestic focus
To say the children were estatic to know you would be a permanent member of the house hearth and you are officially their mother is a understatement. They threw a party. Even those you haven’t raised and were already grown when you arrived can recognize your importance both to their siblings and to their father: needless to say you essentially have alot of bodyguards now. Each of those children are determined to keep you safe, both out of devotion and gratitude and because it was Arlecchino’s orders to do so. And so on.
As for Arlecchino she’s quite happy to have you. She keeps you in her office on your downtime, sat nicely on her lap as she goes through paperwork so your presence can keep her calm. Occasionally she’ll press a kiss to your neck. In moments like these you two often don’t speak, rather you may be knitting or reading s book or writting ideas down for fun activities for the kids.
Arlecchino despite her deep affections fory you however is a possessive lover at her core. You’re just so fragile in the grand scheme of things. The children are protectors but if another harbinger decided to pursue you there is little they could do besides awkwardly stand by you. She knows her colleagues too well. She knows they’ll see your big heart as a weakness of hers. She knows you’re her weakness now, and in the eyes of the other harbingers it’s something they could exploit if necessary. So she simply refuses to bring you around them. Besides very few are even good company. The only harbinger you might see is Childe when he is visiting fontaine. He’s friendly to you but respectful knowing the Knave likely wouldnt like it if he was flirty with her beloved. Even so all it took was seeing him in your general direction to make her tense. Shooting him a dirty look as she quickly pulled you to her side and cut the conversation short.
In that case Childe just got glared at and scolded because he is a harbinger, she can’t kill him for something so minor. But if it was someone else who doesn’t have that sort of protection then there’s no guarantee she won’t. I wouldn’t describe this as yandere but simply a part of her job. Again you are her weakness, she cannot risk people possibly taking you from her or using you to get to her. Because that is a legit fear for her to have. So everywhere you go a underling accompanies you. Often the twins. Lynette and Lyney because they’re quite sociable and its easy for you to forget they’re your bodyguards. The children actually are very eager to accompany you because such trips are often like a day out with their mom. Its not uncommon you’ll treat them to lunch and or go shopping with them. This actually works as well because it helps you blend in easily amongst the crowd too. Sometimes you’ll bring one of the actual children with you as a fun activity to reward them for hard work. Often times you take them to get some toys or something special.
These trips are great as well, your motherly demeanor towards Lyney and Lynette often does scare away suitors but if it doesn’t Lyney is quick to intervene. And if the suitor gets aggressive from their rejection then its nothing they can’t handle. If the guards aren’t available then they could always just… kill them you know. Granted you often discourage that with the excuse of wanting to avoid legal troubles. But its a possibility.
Arlecchino herself hardly takes you to balls, she is fiercely loyal to you still, even refusing to dance with others for respect for you. This is both because the kids don’t like when you leave, and again: she doesn’t want you to become a target or too infamous because of her. She wants to keep you safe and protected.
As for gifts you can trust she won’t let you down there. She is a incredibly observant person. She knows the exact flavors, styles, items, and colors you would like. She studies your tastes diligently. It also helps she has dozens and dozens of little informants who also know your tastes. If she notices you seem overworked she books you a luxurious spa session. If she notices you’re a bit insecure them she’ll make it a point to hold you and kiss each curve and crevice of your skin. She knows you don’t have extravagant tastes but you do like things of quality and meaning. And her gifts do have meaning. If you like knitting then she’ll purchase a set of the most soft and vibrant wool. If you like reading then she’ll keep an eye on exclusive or high demand books to get you. if you’re a artist then you can guarantee you’ll never be short on paints and ever work will be framed and displayed proudly.
Also in terms of gifts you are utterly spoiled not just by your husbandwifey but your kids. They bring you trinkets and souvenirs from across the world. Often based on things that remind them of you.
Arlecchino however is a busy woman. As a harbinger she deals with stressful situations and stressful meetings. And as her new bride you do have the expectation of tending to her. My advice is to simply let her lay her head on your shoulder or lap. Embrace her gently and don’t ask for details. More often then not she cannot tell you what exactly has happened but it’s usually frustration from dealing with the other harbingers. Usually the males. You’ve heard her grievances and slander of each male at this point. If you really want to help her relax then just smile softly and nod along. Your compliance and obedience is a well needed relief to her. Then tell her good news of the kids, how their skills have improved, etc.
When you’re upset on the other hand, maybe shaken up from a failed kidnapping/assassination attempt you can bet she’ll come to you quickly. She’s wiling to ditch a meeting if she thinks its that severe. Before she gets to you however, you can bet the kids will also comfort you. Often holding you and fiercely protecting you. When she gets there they leave to give you two privacy and to stand outside to make sure no one comes by. Upon which she will hold you tighter than you’re used to her. Her nails almost digging into your skin as she breathes heavily. She waits till you’re collected to ask for details and assures you the perpetrator will not be spared or shown a slight of mercy. All those involved will be hunted down and eliminated. Until then she will personally keep you by her side. With a voice surprisingly shakey, a sound only you will hear and ONLY you: she proclaims her utter devotion to you. She proclaims that she loves you in a soft voice. This softness and weakness is a rare sight, its only done to comfort you and when she’s quite alarmed herself.

i love all ur depictions of vil and i’m so happy u took a liking to lyney who’s also my fav ❤️ ur toxic vil in particular haunts my brain, lives in my floorboards and echoes in the halls of my mind at night….so may i humbly please request “forcing them to divulge past traumas or secrets” with vil? 🥹
Warnings: Dead dove, do not eat. Mentions of past sexual assault, nonconsensual age gap relationship.
Vil had been quiet since you'd left the party.
This wasn't unlike him. At the end of a long night of socializing, he generally preferred to hold your hand or, even better, sit with you tucked against his side in the back of his car while his driver navigated you both to his penthouse.
But tonight, the gap between the middle seat felt like an unbridgeable canyon stretched between the two of you.
It was his father's 50th birthday celebration held at the family home. The Shaftlands elite came out in droves to celebrate the beloved Eric Venue.
The night started well enough. Vil was more than happy to introduce you to his wider circle of famous friends and loved ones. As an up-and-coming model with a promising career (even more so with Vil proudly claiming you as his), your agent wouldn't let you forget how this was a rare opportunity to expand your network, but you weren't here for any of that. Tonight, all you wanted to do was support your boyfriend and his father at this critical milestone.
Vil made the rounds with you, introducing you to well known actors, actresses, veteran supermodels, producers and directors all gathered to celebrate his father.
You and Vil were in fragile territory as a couple. If you were able to successfully demonstrate that you could be one of them, an elite, a star, then you and Vil were looking at a future as one of the foremost power couples in the industry.
Thankfully, things were going splendidly; you spoke at the correct times and came off as appropriately humble and down to earth as an outsider in such an elite group. You took great pride in how Vil beamed as he watched you gracefully interact with these other celebrities, your natural charisma on full display. It was hard to get any higher off the fumes of his affection, then he paused, observing you with a tender look and petting the apple of your cheek with a smooth thumb before quietly admitting, "I'm so happy I have you."
That was until you ran into him.
"There's one more person I want you to meet," Vil said warmly, urging you away from your current conversation to meet a distinguished-looking white-haired gentleman.
"Uncle Valle, this is my girlfriend." Vil beamed but the director had a sickening look on his face, ignoring his nephew and addressing you with far too much familiarity.
"Long time no see." You froze. Valle Mensing is a world-famous director and a man you'd desperately hoped never to see again.
"Uh- I think you're mistaken. It's nice to meet you." You avoided eye contact, suddenly finding your shoes interesting, was you felt Vil bore daggers into the side of your head.
The older man raises an eyebrow in slight disbelief.
"Hmmm, you're right my mistake." Thankfully Valle just patted Vil on the back mentioning, "lovely girl you got there, take good care of her."
Vil grabbed your hand and tugged you close to whisper in your ear.
"What was that?" You wouldn't do this now, couldn't.
"Vil, I feel a little sick. I'm going to step out into the garden. If you'll excuse me," you excused yourself, leaving Vil absolutely baffled and more than definitely ensuring that he was suspicious of your interaction with his beloved uncle.
You had no idea they were so close, and now you were scared. You prayed Vil would just let it alone, as unlikely as it would be, but you didn't want to make him choose. Rather, you didn't want to be rejected by him in favor of his dastardly uncle.
You both left shortly after. Vil's mood was considerably soured, and a paranoid expression became etched into your features.
Now, it has been about 20 minutes of driving, and still, no word has passed between you.
Uncertain of what to anticipate, you needed to at least confirm where Vil would be dropping you off tonight. You had a sinking suspicion that your behavior tonight didn't earn you the privilege to share his bed.
"Are you dropping me off or-" You're quickly interrupted.
"What relationship do you have with my uncle?" Vil turned to look at you, his eyes already brimming with judgment.
The impulse to lie was so strong. You'd done it for so long. You knew Vil would likely see right through it, but you had to try. Try to protect yourself and him from the truth. It was only when you were with Vil that you felt as if you had any worth. If he knew your past, what had actually transpired between you and his uncle, you're certain he would no longer want you.
And then, who would you be?
"I don't have any-" You started, but as you suspect, you were cut off almost immediately.
"Why did he say 'long time no see?'" Vil questioned, leering over you with a raised brow. "Don't play dumb. It's unbecoming." He scolded, a coldness in his eyes but an unmistakable look of morbid curiosity. Vil likely already suspected what you would reveal to him, but he wanted to hear it from your lips and force you to bear the most vulnerable parts of yourself to him.
"Vil I-"
"I saw you speak to him in the garden. What were you speaking about."
"It was a long time ago." Your face was hot, and your voice pinched and weary. Tears threatening to spill at any moment.
Vil sighed, exasperated and desperate for the truth. It was obvious he was done waiting for you to confess in earnest.
"Did you fuck him?" The words struck you like a blade to the chest.
"Please, I-" You wanted to retreat and hide, but there was no cover from Vil's relentless barrage of questions and accusations in the backseat.
"Did you or did you not. If you don't tell me now, we're finished."
A long silence passed between you as you tried to form the words in your mouth.
"Yes." The words come out cracked and dry. A horrible truth you didn't want to deny. The tears had started falling now, hysterical sobs wracking your entire body. You prayed the driver had the decency not to spare you a glance.
"Did he force you?" Vil questioned. Less angry, but not even remotely comforting.
"It doesn't matter, please. I just want to live in the now with you!"
"He did, didn't he. He raped you?" You tried to verbalize to say yes, he did...many times, but all you could do was nod wordlessly.
"I need you to tell me exactly what happened tonight."
"H-he asked me why I didn't tell you about our relationship. And I said because it's not something I'm proud of." Calming yourself with stuttering breaths, you admit, "Vil, I'm not lying when I say it is my greatest shame."
"Why don't people know about this?" He's angry. Hurt.
"Because...I wasn't exactly of age at the time." Vil startles, like you've smacked him.
Quietly, as asked, "How old were you?"
"15."
He curses in his native tongue, looking angry and disgusted.
"My agency lied about my age to get me into the country." You went on to explain.
I didn't want to, but they said the connection would benefit my career, and I didn't know any better.
"I've never told anyone."
At that Vil perked up. A pitying look on his face as he embraced you for the first time since you left the party.
"You should not have been subjected to anything so horrible."
We'll go to my home. I wouldn't want you to be alone after having to face that awful man.
"You won't say anything, right?" You plead. Vil tsks.
‘My love, he can't be allowed to go free.” He leans closer, whispering in your ear.
“Think about all of the other women- No. Girls. He's hurt because of your silence.”
The tears that stopped only moments prior, resume their unbidden cascade.
“You were very courageous in telling me,” vil continues, “but I cannot allow you to be silent about this any longer."
He sits up, posture as regal as ever as he observes your tear stained face in the flicker of passing street lamps.
“Don't worry, darling. No one who hurts you will ever be allowed to go unpunished.”
You nodded and clung to your boyfriend, grateful that, at least, he didn't seem like he would leave you, but somehow, you weren't comforted by his assertion.

LOVESICK .ᐟ
✩ — the filipino high school genshin au that no one really asked for.
✩ — various x gn!reader. fluff. no cws. wc: 722. this got pretty lengthy oops it was only supposed to be four characters but i came up w more brainrot as i continued to write on. reblogs are highly appreciated !!
albedo, the one you always look for in the crowd. he was never a student who got all the attention, but there’s a few times when he’s called up on stage because he won a place in the art contests held. in the canteen, during the flag ceremony, or even when school ends, your eyes would always be looking for his figure in the ocean of students that would be flooding the school grounds.
lyney, the flirtatious one who never seems to give up. this guy is dead set on flattering you. from pulling up some simple tricks from his sleeves (literally because he managed to pull a bouquet out of his sleeves once and you still don’t know how that worked) to smoothly slipping flattering words into a normal conversation you two would have. he just doesn’t know when to give up! but when you finally give him a taste of his own medicine, he’s the one stuttering with red ears.
wriothesley, the varsity player that you didn’t expect to fall for. he was out of your league, in your opinion. wriothesley had his popularity, and it was certainly deserved because of his talent, smarts, and looks. but it doesn’t matter if the majority of the school’s population fawns over him. after all, at the end of the day, he still comes home to you.
kazuha, the poet whose hands are never tired of writing for and about you. it started with him slipping some simple anonymous notes that wished you good luck for the day and that you shouldn’t forget to eat your meals. it was a sweet gesture, especially when you had a rough day. but it soon turned into poems about the things he noticed about you, like how he admires the way your eyes would sparkle in joy when you see a stray cat around campus or how he admires your loving personality, which makes him fall even harder. kazuha would never get tired of this. after all, it is you who he is writing for anyway.
neuvillette, the student council member that you couldn’t help but like. he had everything! the leadership skills, the smarts, the talents, the personality, and god, don’t even start with his looks. he was way out of your league with that! but admiring from afar simply wouldn’t hurt, right? not that much attachment, just him being a source of motivation for you to get up and go to school.
childe, the class clown who never fails to make you smile. but even if he’s typically known with the title "class clown", there is a different reason as to why he makes you smile. he’s good at reading the room and can easily detect if someone is feeling down; hell, he even makes the effort of being inclusive to everyone and making sure that they’re not feeling left out. and that’s just a really nice thing to notice. of course, it’s no surprise that childe would notice that you’ve been having a bad day as well. from passing on stupid, silly notes to cheer you up to lending his ear to listen, he’d break his back just to make you break a smile.
xiao, the one who would always wake you up. no matter the time or place, he’d always find you sleeping. and he secretly keeps you company if you’re alone. oh, you accidentally slept in the library while studying? don’t worry; xiao already took the chair next to you and decided to work there. but as the time ticks on the clock, the library has to close now, so he wakes you up. it was always the same, but you never knew who would wake you up in the end.
thoma, the guy who gets along with everyone (especially with you). one could probably misinterpret his actions as romantic because he’s just… really nice to everyone. not that it’s a bad thing; it’s sweet, really. but you can’t help but overthink if his actions have meanings. from him waiting for you at your locker, you and him playfully nudging and joking around each other without even noticing that there are others around the two of you, and his words probably have some implication—it’s complicated. it’s like, you’re friends, but you’re also not sure if your feelings for him are reciprocated.

Hello! Congratulations on getting a Baizhu!! Can I ask you to write about a VERY romantic and sensitive Reader who is completely inept at expressing emotions. I mean the person who says "I love you more than my life" and does ABSOLUTELY romantic things with cold expression. It will be great with Furina (or another girl from Fontaine) and maybe Lyney?
Furina

She honestly loves it.
It’s such a nice, refreshing change of pace.
Something in it brings her a comfort, like being wrapped in arms of truth, similar to that comfort she feels in Neuvillette’s presence but also completely different.
Your voice is something she loves, with few dramatic inflictions, it’s a nice lull in a city of dramatics.
Simply handing her flowers instead of giving some grand speech about it, makes her day.
She loves the authenticity in your affection.
She doesn’t feel like she’s on a stage with you. It’s more like those moments backstage that are to be savored. The hushed conversations that mean nothing and everything.
Lyney

With Lynette as his sister, he knows immediately that your gestures are genuine.
The three of you are an unlikely trio. Two completely deadpanned people and the overdramatic charmer.
Lyney takes pride in those moments where he can make you crack into a smile or laugh.
He also takes pride in how he is the only one you say certain things to, have certain sentiments about.
When he was accused, you stood by his side. Any attempt to remove you was met with a cold stare and, “If you tear me from him, I will have no qualms tearing off your fingers.”
A nervous chuckle and a soft hold on your shoulders, with fingers rubbing against your clothing followed that threat.
“You can’t just say that to the Garde.” “I only said the truth.” “I-um, you— you’re impossible.”
Those moments of blunt devotion often bring the blood in his body straight to his face.

“For the fifth time, Romeo…”
You gently pour Betadine on the kid’s knee, earning a yelp from the latter.
“Why do you insist on running around the house?”
“What else am I supposed to for the afternoon, sleep?”
The boy crosses his arms, clearly annoyed.
A sigh escapes your lips before patting their head.
“You come here one more time you’ll be having The Knave treat your injuries, okay?”
“…”
That’s one way to shut them up.
After covering his knee with dressing you stand up from your kneeling position, dusting your coat off before leading them to their room.
“Just… play with your toys. Read a book or something.”
You close the door, leaving you with the somewhat empty hallways of the Hearth.
Granted there were the maids and employees but you didn’t want to initiate- let alone start a conversation…
But aside from Socializing there’s other things to worry about!
Such as locking up the Clinic now that your shift is ove-
“Doctor?”
You stood still for a second, unresponsive.
“…doctor?”
“If I wasn’t used to your antics I’d be dead on the floor, Lynette…”
“Mm… is that why it took you a bit to respond?”
You turn to look at her, immediately noticing the bandaid on her cheek.
“…yes.”
She points at the bandaid, her expression still the same.
“Don’t worry. I did the steps necessary. Just like you said.”
You cross your arms, an eyebrow raised.
“Disinfectant as well?”
“Mm.”
A smile escapes your lips as you ruffle her hair, earning a silent pur.
“Father told me to escort you to her Office.”
“I-Is that so…?”
You nervously retract your arm in response to that information.
You? Being called by The Knave?
S-surely you didn’t do anything bad, right?
“Mm. Follow me.”
Lynette guides you to her Father’s Office, unconsciously walking beside her since you’re already being plagued with multiple questions and thoughts.
Was it the way you treated those kids Were the playful threats too much? Could it be the medicine you used? Maybe it’s you sometimes showing up late- No that shouldn’t be it…
Maybe… a raise-
No… doubt that’d happen…
…fired, maybe?
*Knock! Knock! Knock!*
“Come in.”
Lynette steps aside, being met with The Knave facing her back towards you.
The door shuts tight.
It’s just you and her.
There’s a sofa in front of her desk which beckons you to come closer.
But you have manners.
“Sit.”
You walked rather… slow? As if you’re prepared for any news you’ll be receiving this afternoon…
At least the sofa feels comfy.
Wait why’re you even thinking about that-
“…How’s your stay?”
“Uh… n-nice, I guess…”
Great. You’re stuttering. What a way to start, you.
“How were the kids?”
You gulp.
“Some are… manageable. Some need sweets… and some need a… little visit from The Knave…”
There’s a… slight pause.
“How are you feeling?”
“…Kind of tired? But I’ll be fine.”
“Even after hundreds upon hundreds of children dashing towards your Clinic?”
“Like I said… some are manageable… some need a little treat… and some definitely need a visit from-
“Me.”
“Yes…”
“Why?”
Oh now that is… tricky.
You look at your hands resting on your lap, unsure of what to say.
Oh screw it, you’re in too deep anyway.
“Because you look frightening.”
…
“Mm.”
A long silence ensues.
“Look at me.”
Your eyes slowly look up…
To meet those menacing- no, hypnotizing eyes of hers.
Trying to look at The Knave of all people is already a difficult task.
As if you shouldn’t even think of doing that.
But remaining eye contact with her?
You’ll be dead on the spot.
*Snap!*
“Are you still awake?”
“I- w-what…?”
You repeatedly blink, gaining your senses back.
“Good.”
Should you be scared?
Aroused?
Maybe even both??
“I’ll repeat it again.”
The Knave points at herself.
“Do I look frightening…?”
You stammer.
“N-no… to me at least.”
“…?”
That look of hers tells you to go on.
Not like you had any choice anyway.
“While others might look at you with fear or dread in mind… I fortunately got to see the… Beauty amidst this…”
“Go on.”
“…amidst this terrifying face of yours.”
The last part took… practically everything just to say it.
“…Leave.”
You picked yourself up and bolted away from The Knave’s sights, making sure to close the door quietly.
The fervent beats of your heart occupied your ears as you lean on the wall, shivering.
…
Wait…
Come to think of it…
Wasn’t that a compliment…?
You just flat out said that The Knave’s face is pretty!
You know what? Forget it. You should at least focus on getting out of here and not worry about interpretation…

Freminet x Reader
Where you have a deep conversation looking at the sea
The wind blew gently over the shore, caressing your face as you walked along the sea. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks was the only music that accompanied your steps, and although the day was calm, you couldn't help but feel an emptiness in your heart. There was nothing really stopping you at that moment, everything seemed to be in its place, but something was missing.
You stopped for a moment, looking at the horizon, where the sky and the sea merged into a single blue hue. Seagulls flew in circles, and everything seemed to be calm, but your thoughts couldn't find that same serenity.
Suddenly, something caught your attention. A familiar figure peeked out from the shore, its silhouette fragile and determined at the same time.
Freminet.
He didn't see you at first, he was absorbed in his observation of the ocean, as if he were searching for something among the waves. It wasn't unusual to see him this way, deep in thought, always so calm but at the same time so full of an inexplicable strength.
You approached slowly, without making a sound, and watched him for a moment, feeling a mixture of admiration and concern for him. You knew he often took refuge in the sea when things troubled him, but you never knew exactly what was going through his mind. There was something in him that kept wondering if he could ever find peace.
Freminet, noticing your presence, slowly turned his head towards you, his gaze intense and calm. It wasn’t the typical empty expression of someone who felt distant; there was something else on his face, a kind of vulnerability that he didn’t usually show.
“Do you mind if I sit next to you?” you asked softly, knowing that if you didn’t offer him space, he might close himself off even more.
He smiled weakly, a small but sincere gesture. “No, of course not. It’s always nice to have company.”
You sat next to him, not saying anything for a while. The waves continued their course, and the sun began to set, dyeing the sky orange and pink tones. You didn't need words to feel connected to him; his presence said it all. However, as the silence lengthened, you decided to speak.
"Are you okay?" you asked, your voice barely a whisper, as if you didn't want to break the delicate moment.
Freminet looked ahead, not answering immediately. His breathing was calm, but you knew something was worrying him. After what seemed like an eternity, he spoke in a soft voice, but laden with restrained emotion.
"Sometimes, I feel like peace is something far away. Like it's not something I can reach…" he said, his eyes staring out to sea, as if the answers were there, hidden among the waters.
"Why do you say that?" you asked, feeling the weight of his words enveloping you. "You have everything you need here. You're not alone. You have Lyney, Father, Lynette... me...."
Fréminet sighed, and for a moment, he looked at you with an intensity you hadn't seen before.
"It's just that, try as I might, sometimes I can't stop thinking about the past. About everything I lost… and everything I'll never understand."
"But that doesn't define you, Freminet," you said softly, placing a hand on his. "What matters is what you choose to do with what you have now. And you… you are stronger than you think."
The boy was silent for a moment, processing your words. Then, without warning, he gently took your hand, his fingers cold but firm. The calmness in his gesture, the way he looked at you with gratitude, made you feel a connection deeper than any words could.
"Thank you…" he whispered, almost as if he was grateful not only for what you had said, but for your constant presence. "I don't know what I would do without you."
You were surprised by his sincerity, but what struck you the most was the vulnerability in his words. In that instant, you felt that perhaps not only the sea had the ability to heal him. Maybe, just maybe, the people around him could also make him feel that there was something in the world worthwhile. Something as simple as a touch of the hand, a sincere gesture.
The night slowly fell upon both of you, and although you did not exchange any more words, the silence between you was no longer awkward. Freminet leaned gently against you, and you, with a calm smile, put your arm around his shoulder, knowing that, even if he did not have all the answers, at least he was not alone.
The sun had already set, but the sky still shone with the last light of the day. At that moment, Freminet let out a sigh, a sigh of relief,
as if he had found a small island of calm in the middle of his internal storm.

boob windows. that's it that's the fic
word count: 1.1K content warnings: this is meant to be yandere au and sagau/self aware au so uh. hint of that, but mostly just crack. nothing Super Nsfw but the whole thing is raunchy and suggestive humour
characters included: mostly ei, but childe, kaeya and briefly zhongli also make an appearance with some others mentioned
a/n: this is a repost (slightly edited)! this was on my to-edit-&-repost list for a while now and this seemed like a good day to do so lol. alas this was originally written before the sumeru release so while editing there wasn't really an opportunity for me to add in wriothesley apparently out-butting zhongli or lyney's tigh high garters and i only just realised kaveh could technically also count here so uh. forgive me. i'll write something for them some day
"is… is everything alright, your grace?"
you loudly suck up another boba pearl, not moving your gaze from where it’s been lodged the past several minutes. "mm, everything’s fine."
ei fidgets in front of you, the cup held tightly in her hands still almost full. she looks unsure, but decides that she knows better than to question you. "if you say so."
it’s clear this isn’t what she had in mind when she personally came to see you instead of sending the raiden shōgun to greet and attend to you. the one time she comes out of her plane, all you’re seemingly doing is ignoring all table manners and gawking at her chest.
yes, that’s right, you’re ogling her chest. or, more accurately, you’re ogling her tiddy window.
between her and kaeya, she’s showing off much more chest. but then kaeya knows what he’s doing, while ei just seems to have it there for convenience over aesthetic…
you squint at her while you get lost in thoughts, and ei’s fidgeting intensifies.
ah shit. you forgot about itto. he wins in terms of who shows off their chest the most, you guess. he’s even wearing that… you’re not sure what to call it but tit belt fits well enough. anyway, the tit belt accentuates his pecs very, very nicely, although they do hide his nips from sight. alas.
you suppose gorou and cyno also exist, but they don’t have the same appeal. oh, and navia and la signora, but both of them are just wearing a sleeveless, collarless dress, so you’re not sure that counts either.
but then by that argument, does itto count? he’s not even wearing a shirt. cyno isn’t wearing a shirt either. and what gorou has is more of a tummy window than anything… but he does have that little window?
between gorou and childe, gorou is definitely winning though. you’d apologise for slandering your poor ajax but between the little triangle he shows off and gorou’s entire tummy out… you’re not sorry. though… there’s something to be said about a small slither of skin inviting you to stick your hands into that gorou having his whole tummy out doesn’t have.
wait, wait. you just had a genius idea. actually, two.
first of all, zhongli with a tiddy window… you are considering. then again, you guess his biggest asset is his bubble butt.
second, and way bigger: an idol group with some of your characters… but they all have tiddy windows.
"…your grace?"
you’re brought out of your stupor by ei, who is gazing in concern at you. you blink at her.
she struggles to find words. "are… are you sure everything is alright? is something not to your liking?"
it’s then that you realise you’ve started drooling at some point. shit.
you hurriedly wipe at it and clear your throat. "yeah, I’m sure. sorry, were you saying anything?"
she looks taken aback. "no, please don’t apologise. I should be the one to… I shouldn’t have interrupted your thinking."
it’s then that childe happens to walk by, and, like the attention hog he is, tries to get a foot into the conversation. you stay mostly unresponsive while the two chat (which seems to be mostly childe trying to hold a conversation with you while ei admonishes him), your eyes drifting back to ei’s tiddy window.
you really could stare at that for the rest of your life.
childe then follows your line of sight and chokes.
…though more because of him trying to laugh while choking on the dango he was eating than embarrassment at having caught onto your very appropriate thoughts.
ei looks confused but makes no move to help him other than pushing his head away from the table so he doesn’t make a mess. you honestly can’t bring yourself to be embarrassed.
he finally manages to swallow properly (you almost want to pat him on the back and praise him for swallowing like a good boy) before turning to you.
"do you want me to strip? my chest looks much nicer, I assure you."
you and ei stare at him.
he raises his eyebrows, pointing at her. "her skin looks way too soft and pampered." she looks almost offended. "mine’s covered in scars and I have actual muscles, doesn’t that feel much better for fondling?"
"what if…" you lean closer to him mischievously, like you’re about to tell him some big secret. "I prefer soft chests?"
he deflates. ei flushes, ducking her head into her still-near-full cup of bubble tea. "well, if that’s what you prefer… I can’t get rid of the scars, but I can stop working out. hmm…" he looks like he’s starting to make serious plans.
"no, I honestly don’t really care. all tiddy is good tiddy." you clap your hands. "anyway! it’s more about the boob window. you already have a (sad) tummy window, so it wouldn’t work."
"why not? wouldn’t that be double the sexy?"
"no, it cancels out."
you’re going to ignore whatever gorou has going on, because that works pretty well.
ei looks unfathomably lost.
"and anyway, if we’re talking about tummy windows, gorou wins."
he deflates further.
then he perks up.
"what about…" he brings his fingers to his face. you think it’s an attempt at looking cool. "butt window?"
you deadpan. "have fun getting arrested for public indecency."
he winks at you. "I wouldn’t mind getting arrested if you’re the one punishing me."
you have to physically hold the electro archon back.
"why, I wasn’t expecting to run into any of you here. what are you three up to?" kaeya’s voice cuts through ei’s snarls all of a sudden. he seems amused, but there’s an edge in the way he eyes childe.
"I am definitely sexier than any archon or soldier," childe says at the exact same time that you say "we’re discussing tiddy windows."
kaeya lets out something between a snort and a chuckle. it’s a pretty sound, but you can’t let yourself be distracted by him. he knows what he’s doing.
"oh? in that department, don’t I win?"
you stare intently at his.
"do you want to touch?"
you move your stare to his face. "am I allowed to?"
he smiles, mirth in his eye. "you needn’t ask. all of me belongs to you, and that includes my chest."
you seriously consider it and childe takes the opportunity to shove himself between the two of you.
"wait, wait! I offered first! ignore him, I’m right here!" "your grace," ei cuts in, "if you’d like to, I don’t mind you touching any part of me."
"ugh, fine, fine! I’ll just sample all of you then. if you’re sure you’re okay with it."
zhongli, somehow, picks the absolute worst moment to walk in.
the look on his face is priceless (you can’t tell if he looks offended or jealous), but even that doesn’t compare to the feeling of soft tiddy in your hands.
you were right, tiddy windows really are the best.
#yandere#yandere x reader#x reader#genshin impact#yandere genshin impact#self aware au#self aware genshin#not sfw#lime#realistically ei probably WOULD have muscles (if not more than him) but. 1. none of the nonhuman characters in this game look like#they have an appropriate amount of muscle#and 2. the shogun is a puppet that presumably doesn't have actual muscles in the same sense as humans do in the first place. so.#i THINK this was supposed to take place in your teapot (hence why everyone is there despite logistics) but imagine whatever you want

TLH -Extra-: The love is in the air! - Charlotte (Feat. Fontaine boys + Aether x Fem!Reader)
Finally found motivation to write this one! The idea came from conversation I had some time ago with my dear friend @shizukano , thanks Shizu (^ v ^)/)
---------
Nothing can hide from Charlotte’s eyes, not even the way many guys look at you with adoration.
When Charlotte met your group in Mondstadt for the first time, she genuinely thought that you and Aether are more than only traveling companions. The soft look he always give you, making sure that you're always safe and sound. He will never let anything hurt you on his watch.
But then she noticed that you weren’t looking at him the same way. You treat him like your other friends and not only that but she started to doubt if she was right about Aether's feelings towards you as well. Because when you traveled around nations in search for Card Thief, she couldn’t help but notice other guys that your group met in other Nations, being very friendly with you too as well.
But then, when you, Aether and Paimon came to Fontaine she saw it with her eyes. It wasn't immediately but after some time, the first ‘victim’ that got caught in your charms from the Nation of Hydro Archon was Lyney. At some point whenever he saw you taking a walk around Court of Fontaine, he would in fast speed approach you, making small ‘magic shows’ just for you. You always end up with flowers adoring your head or you clothes after them. The magician always ‘invites’ himself to whatever your little group has planned. Going for dinner? Nice, he’s hungry too! Diving? Sure! He knows some nice places that his younger brother told him about. Oh you need some Fatui insignias? Magically they are in his hat just for you!
Another ‘victim’ was the talented diver, Freminet. Charlotte was surprised to see this shy guy who seems to prefer being alone, catching the same feelings towards you like his brother. Freminet is always ready to help you with anything. But there are moments when his shyness seems to go away. In those moments he ask you for his next orders, waiting with anticipation for it, no blush and no stutter, looking like a servant that would give his own life for his master than just a boy in love. The diver is rarely smiling but if anyone would like to see his face adored with smile they have to see the moment when you invite him to join for your ‘little adventures in Fontaine’.
The most unexpected 'victim' was the Iudex of Fontaine, Monsieur Neuvilette. At first glance Monsieur Neuvillete didn’t looked interested in you in such romantic way. But then Charlotte notice, those small things the Iudex was doing for you. Inviting you for dinners, always making time if you need his help, giving you some pretty shells and rocks and other gifts that seems the Melusines helped him to pick up for you. If you feel tired, suddenly there is room prepared in hotel for your group and you don’t have to worry about cost. The only thing that Charlotte can’t understand is why whenever it rains and you meet Neuvilette, the rain immediately stops.
Another even more unexpected ‘victim’ was the Administrator of the Fortress of Meropide, Wriothesley. At that point she really wished she could change into fly and saw what happened when your lil group was in prison. She only learned of new victim after seeing him with you and Aether while taking commissions from Katheryne. She followed to see if the Duke truly become charmed by you and he indeed did. For you, both guys were just doing their job at commissions but she saw the rivalry between them, especially when there were enemies to beat. And let’s not forget about him inviting only you for some tea party. Of course Aether won’t leave your side, much to Duke disappointment.
The journalist couldn’t help but wonder… How are you doing this without knowing you are stealing these men's hearts?! ---------------------------------------------------------------------
-“Paimon had a feeling that lately… many people are watching us…” the little girl said while looking around. Aether did noticed it too, like all Fontaine started to be so interested in your group but nobody is really approaching you to ask for something like always. -“You think so? I didn’t notice anything.” you said while eating the cake that Aether bought. You all decided to take a break and eat something at Café Lutece. Suddenly Mr. Arouet approached your group table, bringing some more cake. -“But we didn’t order this one?” Aether said to the man, who only smiled and winked at him -“It’s on the house.” Then he whispered so only Aether could hear it “Don’t give up! I know you can win her heart!” And with that he went back to serve other clients. The blond traveler was confused by it, but you and Paimon seemed happy for getting another cake and for free.
...
While you were looking at books with Paimon, Aether by accident overheard conversation of two women that were standing not that far from your group. -“Traveler have the best chance of winning her heart! Both of them are always together!” one said -“But they been traveling for so long and they still are not together, I think at this point Lyney have better chances of winning! He can be really charming if he wants!” the other said. For a moment Aether was wondering if he heard it correctly. Why are they talk about your group and friends like this? Then he heard Paimon gasp, he turned around to see what’s going on. You were asking her as well, what did she read on the paper to bring such reaction but the little girl poorly lied that she remembered that she left book at café and asked if you can go bring it back. You didn’t question her and you did go. Then the little pixie flew over Aether, showing the news paper in his face!
“One girl steals hearts of men without knowing it!! Who will be the chosen one at the end?!
Wherever she goes, new ‘victims’ appear. This time she came to the Nation of Justice and managed to charm many fontainian men without knowing it. The traveler always by her side, still fighting for her heart but right now the magician, diver, Monsieur and the Duke joined in this race towards her heart.
It is some kind of her power? Or maybe curse? Or maybe we can even call it a blessing that she’s not aware of it? Or maybe she’s just that a lovely person that after knowing her better those men can’t help but fell in love with her? Whatever it is, now is the biggest fight over her and she doesn’t even know it! So who will be with her at the end?”
-“This explains a lot…” murmured Aether. -“Yeah! Paimon was wondering why two guys were placing bets on Freminet and Wriothesley! After all those two have nothing to do with each other! …Well that was Paimon first thoughts back then…” Aether sighed, at this moment he’s even more grateful that you can’t read Teyvat language. He wonders if he should talk about it with Charlotte, she didn't even hide that well identities of people involved in it and he doesn’t like the idea of whole Fontaine being interested in ... this whole ‘love race’.

In which the Tsarista wants Friends And Furina is the Unfortunate Target
A silly genshin au
So i was thinking, u know how every archon has nothing but respect for Furnia?
What if the Tsarista did too? After all, the tsarista wants to defy the heavens, ancthe only person to get away with that and live (that we know of) is Furina.
And its so hard to find archons to hang out with. She’s still not talking to Venti. Morax has to many shady contracts with celestia, Nahida is a child by archon standards, Ei scares her, and frankly the less said about Murata the better.
So when word gets to her through whatever highspeed knowledge that the archons a seem to have about what Focolors and Furina did, she instantly wants to bring her in as an ally.
But alas! Arrlecino has made an absolutely terrible impression on Furina! So much so that Furina refused to meet her without othwr parties present!
This is a huge failure!
She proceeds to tell Arrlecino that while she’s not in trouble, as she did bring back the gnosis, couldn’t she have been a little nicer?
Just look at Childe! He managed to make a good impression on Morax, and he didn’t even realize it was Morax he was hanging out with!
They still get drinks somwtimes!
If Childe can befriend a god by accident, surely Arrlecino could at least mend bridges with Furina? Furina would be sooo useful after all.
Arrlecino, who has jetted off after getting the gnosis with a sick Childe and most certainly doesn’t have connection to whatever instant gossip communication that the Tsarista has, is very confused
She’s still under the impression that Furina was a cursed human, archon impersonator, and all around waste of space.
Now her boss and archon she respects is passive agressively trying to get her to introduce her to Furina and mad she’s not in her good books?
WHY????
Her general attitude is to point agressively at Furina eating her cake and going “This is the ONE u want? THIS one?”
Tsarista, sighing dramatically, “She’s perfect”
But Arrlecino is a harbringer, and what her archon wants, goes. So she goes back to fontain and tries to arrange a meetinf with Furina
This is of course, completely rejected, and accompanied by a sternly worded letter from Neuvillette saying that Furina is retired and not to bother her anymore.
Arrlecino tries to just go directly to Furina, but is chased away by some very agressive melusines. Arrlecino didn’t even know Melusines could be agressive
At this point, Arrlecino is getting annoyed. Did all their personal meetings mean nothing to Furina? She spent so much time and money on her favorite cakes!
Sure she tried to kill her, but that was one time! She should be over it by now!
But she hasn’t lost her head yet. It’s tiem to use her trump card. The magic siblings!
Lyney is a bit dubious on their new mission: “make nice to furina at all costs.” After all, their last two interactions with with her were Furina putting lyney on trial, and lyney and the gang putting her on trial. Not exactly easy to bounce back from.
But orders are orders, so they give it a shot.
They start with trying to ask Furina for help on stage management, give her invitations to their shows, etc.
Shared interests are important after all.
Bur Furina is not biting. She’s not good at magic she points out, so she won’t be much help to them and their better off seeking others to aid them.
She does go to their performance, but spends the entire time sandwiched between Navia and Clorinde. When lyney and lynette try to approach her, navia drags them into conversation instead as Clorinde escorts Furina out.
So that’s a no go.
Lynette then decides to take the more direct route, of breaking into Furina’s apartment to reach her. This goes understandably terribly, as Furina does not take well to a cloaked figure standing over her bed, saying “the Tsarista wants to talk to you”
She sends her water familiars to chase lynette away.
At this point Furina is getting very paranoid and the magic siblings are at the end of their rope. They break out their last hope: Freminet.
Sure he’s not the most social, but he’s by far the most adorable (in the twins opinion) and definitely nonthreatening.
Freminet’s turn goes as thus: Furina is sitting on a bench with her water familiars playing around her
Freminet sits next to her on the bench with Pers. He doesn’t look at Furina, instead staring at his feet.
Pers goes over to the water familiars and they start playing together. Furina and Freminet watch
Finally Freminet blurts out. “The Tsarista thinks your cool and wants to be your friend.”
Furina is startled, then switches into celebrity mode. Freminet doesn’t seem to mean any harm, but she doesn’t want to agree. So she sets an impossible task. She informs Freminet that she is a very popular person and if the tsarista wants to see her, she must come in person to Fontaine instead of sending minions.
Freminet nods and thanks her, saying he’ll pass on the message. He tells her Pers had a good time, and Furina smiles, certain that she’s handled the situation perfectly.
Exactly one week later, there’s a knock on her door. Furina opens it to see thr Tsarista dressed like a tourist with a bag of luggage. She informs Furina they are having a “girls” week.
Next thing Furina knows she and thr tsarista are sitting at a super fancy cake shop where the tsarista is piling Furina with all her favorite cakes with a beaming smile on her face.
As she resigns herself to her fate of lots of cake and spa activites with Tevats number one most controversial archon. Furina realizes she now knows where the Fatui get their crazy from
The end
#genshin impact#genshin impact au#furina#tsarista#arrlecino#arrlechino#why does her name has an h in it?#genshin lyney#lynette#freminet#pers did all the work#tsarista wants friends au#don’t take this too seriously

𓍊𓋼~To scream or be silent Part 1?~𓋼𓍊
Type: Headcannon
Description: I don't know if it's autism or adhd, both or maybe this is just normal but basically I have two ways of speaking. Either I say everything a hundred miles a minute, just pouring out every little thing cause I'm so happy to talk and I won't stop till someone tells me to shut up...or I don't talk at all. Just pure silence. So I wanted to write how I thought some genshin characters would react to both these.
Rating: Fluffy
Reader: GN slight autistic/adhd themes??
Includes: Kazuha and Lyney!
Kazuha:
To scream:
I think the best thing someone can do when you're talking like there's no tomorrow...is just to listen and he could listen to you all day. He'd never get bored, tell you to be quiet or try and stop you. He'd just give you a soft smile and watch you with gentle eyes as you told him everything, he might add something here or there, offer a chuckle, but that would be all. He wouldn't mind not talking because he knows how much you have to say and as long as you're as excited to tell him as you always seem to be...hes all ears.
To be silent:
When you go silent he usually tries to gauge why, because depending on the cause he has different ways of helping or being with you. If you are hyperfixating and are to focused or tired of conversation to soeak, he will just check up on you, bring you water or food and be near you without disrupting you. It's comfortable silence and he enjoys these quiet moments untill you're ready to talk again.
If you're wanting conversation but your mind just isn't working right, he will read you his poems or stories, find ways to speak so you don't have to. He's never going to force anything but if you want to say something he will happily stop so you can talk when you want to.
Lyney:
To scream:
Lyney isn't as good with this as Kazuha, not because he doesn't want to be, he's just so used to having to be the talkative one whenever he's with his siblings that he doesn't really know what to do when someone's as talkative as he is, but that doesn't mean he's horrible at handling the situation either.
Let's say you're talking a bunch about something new that you're obsessed with now, words are pouring out fast and his bright purple eyes shine with excitement for you. He'd love to see you so happy, it would truly make his heart clench knowing you're this hyped up about something, but he wouldn't be able to stay quiet.
Which can be fine, sometimes the two of you will start talking so much that you go on a spree, strange things coming up in conversation that you would never have talked about otherwise. Usually ends up with lots of laughter and...a little bit of silence to calm down when it starts to be to much, but it can be a little hard when you just want someone to listen. He'd try to get better about it though, so when you need him to just listen...he can
To be silent:
Like I mentioned in the first part, he has experience in this field. He knows that sometimes you just need to be quiet and he's fine with that. Most of the time he will fill the silence with explaining new things about his next show or telling you updates about everyone in the house of the hearth. Sometimes he struggles when you get hyperfixated and don't want conversation, but thats really only cause he loves you and wants to make sure you don't feel lonely or uncomfortable. In truth he cares about you alot and does what he can to make you feel happy and loved.
Yo, I just want to write these for every character. I don't know why but this made me feel so nice, just imagining them when I'm talking or having trouble talking...let me know if any one wants this with other characters cause I understand <3

hihi!!! how r u? i wish ur doing good :3
can i request lyney, kaveh n alhaitam (and any char u want) with a male reader? maybe having a date? :3 If u dont want or can't write it is fine with gn or female reader
-> DATES
⌗synopsis : sweet dates with them.
⌗characters : alhaitham, kaveh, lyney.
⌗cw : male!reader, lowercase intended, not proofread.
alhaitham ;
it had been a while since you and alhaitham had been out together. he usually made sure to have some time alone with you, but since he had recently been promoted to grand sage, work had been piling up without him realising. although he never came to you to talk about all his duties, you still understood that he was having a rough time while trying to keep up with both his job and each other’s quality time.
alhaitham was not having it though. he wanted to do his best to finally make up some time so he could spend it with his sweet boyfriend. that’s why he entrusted someone else to deal with anything he had to do for half a day and plan a nice picnic in the outskirts of sumeru city. he was desperately looking for some peace and quiet with you, away from everybody else.
he took care of everything without telling you anything, wanting to impress you by doing all this for you. so it came as a surprise to you once you saw the small and cosy space he put up for you. before you laid a blanket with all sorts of delicacies laying on it and a couple of books, a mix of his and your favourites.
with a kiss, he led you towards the blanket and started telling you about everything he’d done so he could organise this for you both. you kissed him again before you sat together in a peaceful silence, the sound of your breaths mingling with the soothing sounds of nature. you spent the rest of the day there talking, reading, cuddling while the last rays of sunlight were just disappearing behind the horizon, the sky above you slowly shifting from blue to deep navy.
kaveh ;
he had been having a rough time these past couple of weeks, always coming back from meetings with his clients more exhausted than the day before. you couldn’t help but feel bad to see your boyfriend so burnt out, not being able to relax even in the comforts of your shared home. hence why you decided to plan a sweet date just for him! you thought the best idea would be to organise an indoor date just between the two of you, so kaveh would finally manage to loosen up a bit.
“oh, before i forget. try to finish quickly with whatever you have to do tomorrow. there’ll a surprise waiting for you once you’re back.” you simply told him, kissing him one last time before turning around and going to sleep.
the preparations began as soon as kaveh left the house the next day. you thought of a nice candlelit dinner together. a bit cliché, but that was just how he liked it. everyone knows how much of a hopeless romantic kaveh is. you took great care in preparing the space for an intimate atmosphere. candles were carefully placed and lit, casting a soft, warm glow in the room. you made sure the table was elegantly set with your favorite tableware and a bouquet of fresh, beautiful flowers as a centerpiece.
every detail was thoughtfully attended to, from the ambient lighting to the soothing music, in anticipation of your special evening together. as soon as kaveh was back, you welcomed him warmly, settling into your seats. he can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for him while he looks at the place before you shush him with a quick kiss. from there on your conversation flows effortlessly as you’re sitting across from each other at the table, the warm glow of the candles casting a soft light on your faces.
lyney ;
you hadn’t seen lyney as often as usual this week because he had been preparing for a show that was supposed to go on the next weekend. although you said nothing about it, he knew you missed him. that is why he knocked on your door unexpectedly today to take you out with him!
despite wishing he would’ve had given you a little more time to get ready, you were ecstatic at the idea of having some alone time with your lover. he brought you to a cute little cafe downtown. it was a well-hidden spot, one that had just recently opened up so not many people knew about it. the interior was be cosy, warm lighting with a delicious smell of freshly brewed coffee. you sat in a secluded corner, away from other costumers as you began talking. you both had so many things to catch up to.
between kisses and conversations, you talked the day away. if it hadn’t been for the waiter kicking you both out, you would’ve actually sat there for the entire day. so there you both were now, strolling through the quartier narbonnais hand in hand, enjoying the charming sights and the soft sound of music playing from the shops nearby mixed to people’s chatter.
“you know, this was quite sudden. i thought you had so many things to do that we couldn’t go out together until you had it sorted out.” you admited after a while, his hand still intertwined with yours. lyney huffed and looked the other way before answering. “oh please, you can seriously believe i hadn’t noticed how sad you were feeling.” he said. his gaze turned back on while he brought your hand up to his lips. “i begged freninet to take care of some stuff for me so i could spend the day with you.”
⌗a/n : okey this sucks, im sorry. im not sure if this is exactly what you were asking for either 😿 i wanted to post this much sooner but i had some studying to do, but now im finally free! yayayayay!!!

Too little too late - chapter 1 // Arlecchino x reader

Series summary: You were hired as an assassin to kill her, unfortunately you struggle to find an opening, and the scope of things get out of hand
Series tags: Fem!Reader, reader is an assassin, angst, fluff, enemies to lovers if you squint, mentions of murder, there might be a few things I missed I'm kinda new to this
Chapter summary: after spending some time in Fontaine you begin to get acclimated to your new environment, still the knave is nowhere to be seen.
[prologue]
Your new life in Fontaine is actually going well, you made some friends, got some new clothes that better suit you new home, managed to decorate your apartment so it actually looks lived in, still there isn't even a sign of the knave, you understood why - she's a harbinger, she has high profile missions that must be complicated, she's likely laying low for now as to not ruin her chances, and even if not most harbingers don't make too many public appearances.
Ignoring that your life here is good, you are in fact just on your way to meet up with one of your new friends at a cafe. "Charlotte, great to see you!" you greet her "Ah [Alias] you're here!" you met her on your first day here, you've seen her around once in Mondstadt, but never actually talked to her, still she's incredibly nice and chatty too, anyways you two ended up striking a conversation quickly and became friends. "By the way did you hear that the traveler just arrived?" she asks you, you've heard about her and how her and her companion Paimon would go from nation to nation in search of her lost twin brother, but what interested you more was the fact that you knew she had multiple encounters with the Fatui, maybe she'll have information that will help you with your job "Really?" you ask "Yes, she just got her and she already managed to get in trouble" ah yes, another staple of the traveler is that somehow every time they arrive in a new nation something goes awry "What happened?" you ask "Well she just arrived and she already wanted to meet the archon, Furina did make an appearance, but she almost convicted her with a crime" Charlotte responds "what crime can you already commit after you just arrived in a new nation?" you ask "According to Fontaine law it is forbidden to release flying objects within Fontaine city limits during the first three days of each month, apparently Paimon classifies as a flying objects, it's not the flying part I doubt it's the object part you know" she tells "yeah, but you said 'almost convicted' so she wasn't convicted how is that?" you ask once more "Lyney was there to save the day with one of his magic tricks, speaking of, are you planning on going to the magic show tonight?" she asks you "Of course, how could I not." you tell her "well great, see you tonight at the opera house then" she tells you and gets up after you both pay the bill "see you"
The magic show was fun, Lyney and Lynette are truly talented there's nothing else you can say, it all went well until the huge water tank suspended from the ceiling fell and crashed someone to death, now the archon is accusing Lyney of murder.
You couldn't really believe you were going to watch a trial, not a play, not an opera, not a show, a trial. Truth be told you found it odd that fontainians treated serious trials like all those other things, but the archon is the one who pressed charges and the traveler is Lyney's attorney, so you decided you'll go watch it though to be honest you weren't completely interested in it, that is until Furina mentions something, something that means from now on your sights are set on Lyney and Lynette "Tell me. Aren't you and Lynette actually from the House of the Hearth"
A/n: that is it for today, honestly doing research for this fanfic included me watching the same parts of a 15 hour video of the entire archon quest repeatedly and now I want to play the Fontaine quest again.

The sun was partially covered by the clouds when you stepped outside of the House in the early afternoon. Distant rumbles of thunder echoed, and you lazily raised a hand to check for raindrops.
It was too doom and gloom lately for your liking. Even though you loved watching the rain pitter patter on the streets of Fontaine from your bedroom window, it was hard weather to work in.
Rain made missions harder for you. You couldn’t see your target, you couldn’t move as fast because your soaking wet clothes hindered your movement, and running in heels on slippery streets called for a death sentence.
It was pleasant to look at and bask in, but not to work in.
Your thoughts paused on one such topic: work. Without a moment’s delay, you secured your thigh holsters one last time and set off for the city’s forgery.
Thunder continued to rumble, but there were no signs of lightning. You nodded approvingly at this fact, and your eyes went back to darting between the faces of the people passing by you on the street. You knew each of their faces, studied their names and appearances from the papers that Father gave you to read.
Absentmindedly, you tapped your thigh as you hummed softly under your breath. Today was supposed to be your day off; Well, before one of your ‘siblings’ woke up with a fever and their mission was handed off to you.
You usually didn’t take on information gathering missions. Everyone in the House was well aware of your previous failed attempts to do so from a young age. The only thing you were good at was carrying out the less than ideal dirty work– one of the so-called “darker” jobs in the House: assassinations.
None of the other children favored your job; especially not Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet.
Truthfully, you were one of the only children in the House who took on assassination missions. You were quick and thorough, never missing your targets. You could easily turn off your emotions and focus entirely on your tasks. Due to this, Father had no doubt in her mind that you could finish the job. All heavy duty work in that regard was passed to you without a second thought.
If it crossed someone else’s desk, they immediately passed it to you. And sure enough, you would return at an alarmingly fast pace, claiming the work had been completed.
It felt nice… having people trust you like that. It felt nice— feeling like you had power and strength. A small smile twitched at your lips. It was gone as soon as it appeared as you approached the forgery.
The man you were supposed to meet was here already, chatting idly with the owner of the shop. They were having a lovely conversation about this year’s Weinlesefest in Mondstadt, which piqued your interest.
You haven’t heard the mention of Weinlesefest in some time.
“Oh, really? I had no idea Mondstadt had that kind of festival!” Came the man’s words. “Sounds interesting, though! Being able to brew wine with family and gathering together as a community to share drinks. Sounds like something I’d like!”
“Weinlesefest, over the course of Mondstadt’s history, became a holiday to welcome the Anemo Archon, Barbatos, home during the harvest season.” You said calmly, walking up to them without a sound.
The woman screeched in surprise, practically jumping out of her skin at the sudden appearance of another person. She placed a hand over her heart upon seeing you, and let out a heavy sigh of relief.
You continued, “The people of Mondstadt brew wine and offer it up to Lord Barbatos. If he is satisfied with the wine, he guides a gentle breeze to bless the people. This is usually the time of year that Mondstadters living in other nations miss their homeland the most, because it is a holiday spent entirely with family and friends.”
“Why hello, (Name)!”
A pout settled on your lips as your superior, Childe, ruffled your hair with a bright smile on his face. A chuckle rumbled out from his chest as he greeted you softly just like he did every other time you saw him. You suspected it was because you reminded him of his younger sister.
Although there was not much you knew about the Eleventh Harbinger, you did know that he had siblings and he was a very family oriented man. You wondered if that was the reason why Father respected him…to some degree, at least.
“I see you haven’t changed when it comes to sneaking up on others! Your stealth is impeccable!” He complimented, removing his hand from your head.
You raised a brow in surprise. “Hm? But I didn’t—”
He abruptly changed the subject. It was a repetitive trait of his that irritated you. “Now back to that Mondstadt festival. How do you say it again? Vine…something?”
Your eye twitched at his poor attempt to say the name. With a smug smirk on your lips, the word fell from your mouth effortlessly, as if you could fluently speak the language of Mondstadt, which was a fact that only you and Father were privy to.
“Weinlesefest.”
Childe’s brows furrowed. “How come you can say it so easily?”
No one knew your origins, except for Arlecchino and Signora, but the latter was dead…and all of the secrets you shared with her were ones she had taken to the grave. As far as anyone else knew, you were a child of Fontaine. But you and Father knew the truth.
“Father took me to Mondstadt a few times. After the first visit, I said I would like to learn the language of the nation, and she set up a tutor for me immediately upon our return to Fontaine.”
Your lie, as ever, was flawless enough to convince him. He hummed in understanding, stroking his chin. “I see. I guess that makes sense.”
With Childe, you had to amp up your deception. One slip up in your body language, a stutter in your words, or the wrong tone of voice, and he would instantly see right through whatever fabrication you tried to ensnare him in. It was like that with all of the Harbingers, but more so with your own Father. You had a lot of experience in deceiving her.
“But why Mondstadtian of all languages?” he questioned, “you don’t take me as that type of person. I think you’d enjoy learning Liyuen instead. Or maybe Inazuman—”
“Sir, we’re getting off topic…” You attempted to bring the conversation back to the topic of work. That’s what you were here for, after all.
He laughed sheepishly. “Right! Man, you’re still a stick in the mud, huh? It’s always ‘work’ with you, nothing more and nothing less,” he sighed, “anyways. I was supposed to meet one of your siblings here, but it seems they’re not—”
“I was sent in their stead,” you stated, “they got sick unexpectedly, so I took on their task for them.”
“I see. Well, do you have the documents, then?”
You nodded curtly. No matter what job was handed to you, you always took it seriously. Childe’s words were correct: you were always talking about work. Rarely did you ever discuss anything else with him. It wasn’t that you didn’t trust him, but simply because you had nothing else to talk about. You weren’t much of a talker, and you never have been.
The first time you met Childe, it took him four hours before he was able to get you to say anything back to him, and even then, it was only because he brought up your position in the House.
“I have them all right here.” You lifted your skirt a little to undo the clasp on your thigh holster, and pulled out a set of folded up documents that were given to you by Father. “I triple checked I had the right count before I left. All twenty-three pages are there in order, and the list of names on the last page has been rearranged in alphabetical order for your perusal.”
His eye twitched. You’ve known him for how many years now and you still acted formally around him. It was tiring. He understood that you took your work incredibly seriously and you were acting professional, but you didn’t have to act that way around him. Around him, you could relax. But if you never did that before, he knew you weren’t going to start now.
He let out a heavy sigh. “Great, thanks. Can’t wait to look over these later.” He absolutely despised paperwork. He’d rather be sparring with some of Fontaine’s champion duelists right now instead of participating in the business aspect of his job.
A small snort left your lips. It was so quiet he thought he had imagined it, before he looked up to see you covering your mouth with your hand. He stood there, stunned for a moment, before his lips curled up into that smug smirk you were way too familiar with.
“Did you just laugh?”
This was the first time he made you laugh, and you knew he was going to hold it over your head like a vice now.
You attempted to regain your composure, clearing your throat, but your uneven voice betrayed you. “N-No…I- I coughed.”
“No, I’m pretty sure I heard a laugh,” he teased. “I finally made you laugh!”
You took a deep breath and exhaled. Within seconds, the amused expression on your face was replaced with a stoic one. “Whatever you think you heard, you didn’t.”
The way you could effortlessly turn off your emotions whenever you wanted was an ability he greatly admired. Even to this day, he still had trouble concealing his own emotions from others. He wished it was as easy as you made it look— as if it was second nature to you.
Maybe it had been…but he was satisfied that at least for a moment, he was able to grant you a brief respite and drop the mask he knew you always wore.
Rosalyne liked to visit when she could.
As it turned out, she became the only person you could trust in this awful place. When she had to leave you two months ago after your first meeting, you begged her to stay for just a little while longer.
Surprised by your sudden outburst, she did all she could to calm you down, and she told you that she could not stay… She had to return to Snezhnaya because her work in Fontaine was finished, and the Queen was expecting her return in no more than three days’ time. No matter how many tears you shed, it didn’t make her stay.
As soon as she left, you were left alone in Arlecchino’s care again, and the real training began.
First, you were tested on all of your physical aspects: running, climbing, jumping, lifting, running while carrying weights on your back, and stealth.
Arlechino watched over every single bit of your testing, a clipboard resting in her perfectly manicured hands. Her eyes were akin to that of a hawk as she picked out every flaw and talent. She glanced down at her clipboard as soon as you collapsed from the three mile run she had you take with weights on your back.
A sigh left her lips.
Jumping
Climbing
Lifting (weights)
Stealth
Running
Running (with weights)
Marksmanship
Out of irritation, scribbled another line over ‘running with weights.’
She gazed over at your heaving, exhausted form. You were laid sprawled out on the grass, your chest rising and falling in step with your racing heartbeat. You could feel your head throb and your ears ring from the exertion. Your legs felt like jelly and sweat dripped from every pore. The loose clothing you wore stuck to your body, and the scent of musk and freshly cut grass entered your nostrils.
You stared up at the sky, your mind blank as you watched it contort from brilliant blues to a soft pink and deep orange. Had you spent all afternoon out here?
Your lungs were burning, and your mouth was dry. As soon as you got your hands on a bottle of water, you knew you were going to chug the whole thing down in three seconds flat. When you returned to the House, you were going to take a nice cold shower and wipe all the grime and sweat off your body.
Arlecchino let out another stressed sigh. She definitely had her hands full with you. In an overly annoyed voice that she knew you could hear above the ringing in your ears, she shouted,
“What did I tell you before? Laying down will only hinder your breathing more. Stand up and place your hands on your head to allow your lungs to open up.”
As she jotted down some notes on her clipboard, she heard you whine and groan in protest. However, you obeyed her without tossing a backhanded comment. She was getting somewhere with you, even if she still couldn’t figure out what it was you were good at.
Her eyes skimmed over the list again, stopping momentarily on the last bullet-point. She peered up at you again, studying your small build. She hummed thoughtfully before grabbing your attention with a firm “come with me.”
Back at the House, she allowed you to shower first before leading you down a hallway you only passed by once when you first arrived. At the end of the hallway next to the supply closet was a room with an old wooden door that looked as if it was on its last leg. It let out an obnoxious screech as it creaked open, causing you to cringe.
She walked inside and you followed behind her as you finished drying your hair with the towel in your hands. It was a decently sized, rectangular room with padding on the walls and lanterns hanging from chains on the ceiling. A row of guns and rifles sat to your left, all of them freshly polished and hidden inside a display case with a lock on it. On the shelf above the case were bullets and all the necessary cleaning supplies for a gun, as well as a jar of earplugs.
On the far side of the room, just across from where you were standing in the doorway, were targets. All of them were beaten and battered from years of use. To your right were three chairs, all supposedly there for spectators.
A glass wall separated you from the actual shooting area, with a lone glass door leading into it. One of your older siblings, Amélia, greeted you both from the other side of the glass. She opened the door and smiled warmly.
“Good evening Father, (Name).”
Arlecchino nodded curtly. “Amélia, perfect timing. Would you care to teach (Name) the basics of gun use?”
Amélia was one of the only children in the House who was adept with guns. Her vast knowledge stemmed from the years she spent as the daughter of a champion duelist, before that very same duelist was bested in battle.
She nodded, her eyes lighting up with enthusiasm. You watched as she took apart the gun she was previously using and gently set it back in the display case. She reached for another, larger gun and turned around to face you. It was sleek, wood polished over with a clear shine and silver that gleamed under the dim lighting of the room.
“This is a musket,” she held it up for you to see, “usually, they’re only used in war nowadays. They’re not as popular as they used to be, but the Gardes tend to use them on occasion. We’ll start with this.”
She handed you a pair of earplugs and guided you into the training area. She positioned you in front of one of the targets and handed you the musket. It felt heavy in your hands, and you struggled to keep a hold on it.
She helped you, placing a hand on one of yours. “Yep, just like that! Now, you’re gonna take this,” she handed you a paper cartridge, “and you’re gonna tear that end part off.”
You did as she told you and tore the piece off with your teeth, spitting it out elsewhere. She laughed softly. “You’re a natural already! Now, pour a bit of the powder into this pan…and wipe off the excess. Yep! Now, close the frizzen.”
She helped you hold up the musket and pointed to the muzzle. “Now take the rest of the powder and pour it down the muzzle. Carefully seat the ball, and ram it with this–” she pulled out the ramrod, “yep– and then put it back. Alrighty! Now, stand here, hold it up so you’re eye-level, and fire!”
She took her hand off yours and stepped back to allow you some space. You held the butt of the musket to your shoulder and pressed your cheek against it. You weren’t sure what it was exactly…if it was some sort of otherworldly power surging through your veins or if it was adrenaline that accompanied your fast beating heart, but the moment you readied the gun, your world shifted on its axis. It was as if there was something locked away deep inside you that was coming to the forefront, like it was breaking free from whatever cage that was holding it back all this time.
The rest of the world around you faded away into nothing, leaving you and target alone in a dark plane of existence that was only visible to your sharpened eyesight. Only the target mattered, nothing else. Not the fear of failure swirling around in the back of your mind or the water that slid down your forehead from your wet hair. It slowly, agonizingly, trickled down the bridge of your nose and you rested your finger on the trigger.
Time seemed to move slowly in those few seconds. It felt as if an entire eternity had passed before you finally pulled the trigger. You barely felt the recoil of the gun as the bullet darted out, but that was the least of your concerns.
Precision was a lesson Arlecchino taught all of the children in the House, and yet in this moment, when it was a given that the bullseye would be missed, a deep-rooted instinct tucked away inside your heart was screaming at you that it would undoubtedly hit the mark.
BANG!
A perfect shot, right in the center.
It was silent for a few moments as your concentration faded away. You stared, dumbfounded, at the target, before you glanced down at the musket in your hands.
An eerie clapping drew you out of your stupor, and you turned around to face Arlecchino. She wore a satisfied smile. There was a smugness around her, as if she had also known that you would hit the bullseye.
Amélia took the musket from you, a look of pure amazement in her eyes as she shook your shoulder. You couldn’t hear what she said above the ringing in your ears from the adrenaline rush you were coming down from, but you could only assume it was words of praise, judging by her excited smile.
Once she was gone, Arlecchino placed a hand on your shoulder. “We’ve found where your skills lie. Now, it’s time to hone it.”
A few weeks after your discovery in the shooting range, you received a letter in the mail. One of your brothers, Louis, slammed the door as he rushed inside, carrying the entire House’s mail in his arms. He dropped it onto the coffee table in the common space and plopped onto the ground in front of the lit hearth.
You sent him a glare. “Some of us are trying to read.”
He ignored your cold stare and rifled through the mail, separating everything into piles depending on whose name was on the address. Father’s, naturally, had the biggest pile. It was hardly a surprise, as most of her mail was sent directly from Snezhnaya to the House and consisted of hefty amounts of paperwork.
Louis paused on a strange envelope, his brows raising in utter shock as he called your name. You answered in a mutter, too focused on the crime novel in your hands to worry about what it was that he wanted from you.
“You have a letter…it’s from a Miss Rosalyne Lohe—”
You snatched the letter from his hands and abandoned your book on the sofa as you stood up and ripped open the envelope. An elegantly crafted necklace and a letter fell out. You gasped softly at the gorgeous craftsmanship of the necklace. A pristine, golden chain with a cecilia flower carved out of glass and hand-painted dangling from the middle.
Jewelry of this quality could only be purchased by aristocrats. Never in your life could you ever have the money to purchase something like this— only in your wildest dreams. You didn’t know how long you stood there staring at it in awe with your mouth open, but it must’ve been a few minutes judging by the confused stare on Freminet’s face.
Freminet was another one of your brothers. He was a few years younger than you, and based on what you learned about him from the loud-mouthed Louis, he had supposedly been here before Arlecchino rose to the position of The Knave. He was a kindhearted boy, if not shy and quiet much like you. You found that although you were content to ignore your other siblings, Freminet was welcome company.
And just like you, he didn’t excel in most things. When you first asked him what it was that he specialized in, he said, “Nothing, really. I do like diving, though.”
“Is everything alright?” He questioned. “Amélia says that if you keep your mouth open too long, bugs will fly in.”
You closed your mouth immediately and turned your attention back to the necklace in your hands. To avoid further disruption, you ran to your room to read the letter Rosalyne had sent you. Sitting down on your bed, you pried the carefully folded parchment open and began to read.
“(Name),
The weather in Snezhnaya is tolerable, I suppose, but I would much prefer to be relaxing on a Fontainian beach with a cocktail and a good book in hand while I soak up the Summer sun, instead.
The Knave has told me you finally found something you excel in. Congratulations! I hope your training is much to be desired. Guns are handy companions if you know how to properly wield them. I never saw the appeal when I can just use my hands, but if a gun is what you desire, then I wish you the best of luck moving forward.
The Tsaritsa has tasked me with a mission in Mondstadt. Although returning is a burden, I do suppose it’ll be pleasant to take in the scenery once more… Even if the Wind’s influence is practically crawling everywhere. It’s a shame you could not accompany me, but you have your priorities, and I have mine.
I sincerely hope that the next time we meet, you can show me how much you have improved. I will be awaiting results until then.
As for the next time I step foot in the City of Bards, I hope you are there with me. Until then, take this token I commissioned from the best blacksmith in Mondstadt. I thought it only right to get you a gift.
Best,
Rosalyne”
Standing in front of the full length mirror next to your bed, you pushed your hair aside and clasped the necklace around your neck. It sat delicately on your collarbone, and you fiddled with the cecilia flower, feeling all along the crevices and grooves of the finely crafted jewelry.
An absentminded smile tugged at your lips as you admired it, before a loud yell sounded from the common space. You flinched and let out a sigh.
Waiting in the common area was Arlecchino, with two children huddled behind her legs. They looked to be about your age, with near matching hair and eyes the color of amethysts.
You studied them intently, taking in the appearance of the girl first. She had darker, gray hair than what appeared to be her twin brother, and a deeper shade of violet eyes that were a bit sunken in from what looked like exhaustion. She had longer lashes than him, too, and a set of gray cat ears and a swishing tail. Her lips were drawn into a thin line. Her eyes scanned the whole crowd, calculated and piercing. Her shoulders were tense as she kept a firm grip on Arlecchino’s pant leg.
She reminded you of yourself in a way.
Meanwhile, her brother had faded blonde hair and striking violet eyes that pierced through your soul when you met his gaze. There were bags under his eyes, just like his sister. He didn’t have any animalistic features, but his pupils were pulled into slits— exactly like a cat’s. There was a certain mischief that laid deeper in his gaze, behind the apparent nervousness that currently shone in them.
That was enough to tell you that even though he didn’t have the ears and tail to back it up, he had other features that declared how cat-like he was.
Upon meeting your eyes, his chapped lips pulled up into the slightest of smiles, and his eyes were now shining with a newfound wonder. You returned his smile with one of your own and sent him a small, friendly wave.
“This is Lyney and Lynette,” Arlecchino announced, placing each of her hands on their heads, “welcome them with open arms.”
Just like the day you first laid hands on a gun, your whole entire world tilted on its axis, and it was all because of a boy with a cheshire smile.

Morning Dew
| warnings: fontaine spoilers
| genre: i dont flippin know
| summary: fontaine archon quest
| part: 2

One night, as you lay awake, unable to sleep, you hear a soft knock at your door.
You get up and answer it, and are surprised to find two strangers standing (and one floating) before you.
“Hey, you’re Y/N, right?” the fairy-looking one asks.
“Ah, you must be the Traveler and Paimon. I heard of your arrival in Fontaine today. I must say, you have to be looking for trouble if you’re standing against Lady Furina herself.”
The fairy-looking one crosses her arms and puffs her cheeks.
"Excuse you! We're not looking for trouble!"
The other stranger puts her hand on her shoulder.
"Paimon," she starts, “please calm down."
"I'm sorry, Lumine, but that's a big assumption!"
"It's alright," the blonde says, smiling.
She turns to you.
"I apologize for my friend," she says, "she can be a little... over-excited at times."
"No problem," you say.
You extend your hand.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Y/N, the second Champion Duelist.”
Lumine shakes your hand.
"Likewise. My name is Lumine."
She gestures to her floating companion.
"This is my friend, Paimon."
Paimon sticks her tongue out at you.
"Yeah, yeah. Nice to meet ya."
Lumine chuckles.
"Anyway, we were wondering if you knew where we could find Lady Furina," she says.
“At this time of night, she would be in bed. But, tomorrow, I can accompany you to the Opera Epiclese? That’s where she usually resides throughout the day. That is, if she’s not out eating sweets at Hotel Debord.”
"Perfect," she replies.
She turns to her friend.
"Let's go find a place to stay."
"Yeah, Paimon’s beat," Paimon says, yawning.
"Alright," you reply, “take care."
"Thanks for the help," Lumine says.
She and her friend turn and walk down the street.
You close the door and sigh.
That was not a pleasant introduction.
You get back into bed, and try to get some sleep.
Tomorrow is another day.
————————————————————
Morning comes, and you awaken to a bright, sunny day.
As you’re walking to the Opera House with Lumine and Paimon, you see two familiar faces.
“Ah! Lumine and Paimon! And…er? Y/N?”
“I can sense your enthusiasm upon seeing me, Lyney,” you start, “I am solely just assisting Lumine and Paimon, I won’t be staying long.”
“No, no, no! That’s not what I meant at all, Y/N! I just meant it’s weird to see your face in the Opera House if it’s not being used for trials,” says Lyney.
"I have some business to take care of," you say, evasively.
Lynnette raises an eyebrow, but stays quiet.
"You’re not going to stay to watch the magic show?” Lyney asks.
You shrug.
“I don’t have tickets.”
“Nonsense! Me and Lynnette are hosting, there’s no need for that. I’ll get you three the best seats in the house!”
You frown.
"I can't ask you to do that," you say.
"You didn't," Lynnette replies.
She holds out her hand.
"Come on. It will be fun."
You take her hand, and she leads you inside the Opera House.
Lyney leads you and the duo towards the very front seats.
"We will be starting shortly," he says.
"Thank you," Lumine replies.
"Yes, thank you, Lyney and Lynnette!" Paimon adds.
Lyney smiles.
"My pleasure."
He turns and walks towards the stage.
As the trio sit down in their respective seats, Paimon speaks up.
“Uhh,” she starts, looking to her right at the man sitting in silence beside you.
“Hey, Lumine, Y/N, maybe we should strike up a conversation with the person next to us? Since we're sitting together and the rest of the place is practically empty still, it's kinda awkward if we don’t say anything.”
The man, who was previously staring blankly forward, suddenly turns his head to look at the three of you.
You, Lumine and Paimon look back.
“Excuse me, I did not realize you felt awkward. I am terribly sorry,” the man starts with his deep voice.
“I would be perfectly happy to chat with you, if that is what you would like.”
“Oh... uh... So you heard all of that, did ya? Boy, you sure have good ears, Paimon thought she was keeping her voice down,” Paimon says, once again referring to herself in the third person.
Paimon floats towards the man.
“Ah! Wait, that's not it, Paimon's sorry! Um, Paimon's the one who was being rude talking under her breath like that. Uh, so let's talk, but... uh... what should we talk about?”
You look at Paimon.
“Beat it, Paimon. This is Monsieur Neuvillette, head of Chief Justice in Fontaine.”
Lumine looks over at Paimon and shrugs.
The man looks at Paimon.
"Don't worry, I was not offended," he says.
"If anything, it is I who should apologize. I didn't realize I was sitting so close to you. My apologies."
Paimon looks a bit embarrassed.
"No, no, it's fine! Don't worry about it. You didn't do anything wrong."
“I am quite surprised to see you around here, Y/N. You are aware that this is Lyney’s magic show and not a trial, correct?”
Neuvillette turns his head and looks at you, his purplish pink eyes piercing into your own.
Paimon and Lumine look between the two of you.
Paimon leans towards Lumine.
"Do you think Y/N's in trouble or something...?"
Lumine shakes her head.
"No, I don't think so. Remember that Y/N is a champion duelist. They work with the law.”
Paimon nods.
"Yeah, yeah. Good point."
You cross your arms.
"I'm not in trouble, and I am aware this isn't a trial, I'm here accompanying the duo," you state, gesturing to Lumine and Paimon.
“Plus, Lyney and Lynnette offered free tickets. Who am I to refuse?”
Neuvillette chuckles.
"A good point," he says.
"It is nice to see a familiar face," he continues.
"Especially a friendly one."
"I would hardly call our faces 'friendly,'" you reply.
He shrugs.
"Perhaps not, but a welcome face is always a welcome face."
"Well, thanks, I guess."
He dryly chuckles.
"You are most welcome."
“And by the way, I should let you know, even though I would prefer not to,” Neuvillette starts, “there's someone sitting up there in the VIP seats that has been striking a pose for quite a while now…”
Furina giggles from up high, sitting elegantly on her throne.
“Huh? Oh, it's Furina, the Hydro Archon. She sure has a smug and satisfied look on her face. Guess she has no idea that you saw right through her act,” Paimon states.
“Ooo, ooo, look, it’s about to start! Paimon can hardly wait!”
The crowds enter the venue, and the curtains open for the show to begin.
“Oh, they’re dimming the lights! The show must be starting!”
Paimon floats around in excitement.
“Ah… Sorry. Paimon will try to stay quiet, hehe..”
