So, this is more personal. And I dont even know why I'm posting it... I guess this is a little bit of a journal entry thing for me to process.

Before all this, I considered myself a swiftie. I waited for hours with my pre-sale code (with my sister in law doing the same) to end up not being able to get tickets without spending over $1,000. But I don't even know anymore. Maybe because I'm an older swiftie (is 26 old?), but I am disgusted by the fandom. I've had messy breakups. I've dated the wrong people. (Not saying that Matty is that wrong person for Taylor) . I can't imagine doing that in the public eye. When everything you and your partner do is under scrutiny.

I'm married now. My husband has a history of being addicted to pills and drank heavily on occasions. He is a great man with a troubled past. He is sober now. He treats me well. I love him so much. If someone tried to break us up because of that, I would have been furious.

I guess this whole thing is like losing a friend. Obviously not taylor, specifically since I know we aren't friends but like a friendship to other swifties. I would still have loved to go to a concert, but I'm not sure I could stand the people with "I hate Matty Healy" shirts.

Those anti bully campaigns are doing well, huh? Or are celebrities an exception because they aren't "regular" people. They put themselves out there to bring us entertainment, and this is how they get treated? Matty and Taylor both.

But I also feel like I gained new friends. I didn't even know about the 1975 before this. Now I love them! And I love their fan base. Even if you don't like him as a person for what he's said, you have to be able to separate the person from the good music. Which swifties can not do. I do, however, like him as a person.

P.S I like the band Badflower too. Lyricly, they feel the same to me as the 1975. Go give them a listen if you want to try a new band. F*ck The World by Badflower reminds me of Love It If We Made It. Same message I feel.

What did you think of the album sonicly, not lyricly. 31 songs and honestly there's only a couple that stand out. Most of them kind of blend into the same monotonous talk singing with the same backing track. The 5 1989 vault tracks had more variety then this double album.

UO, but I low-key agree with you! I'm not a huge Evermore fan [ducks from people throwing shit at me], and the second half feels especially Evermore-heavy, sonically speaking. I adore this double album lyrically, though, my GOD, I can't even touch the third rail of some of these songs, and I feel like the first half is more balanced on the sonic front, tbh, but I also feel like it's kinda hard to judge a double album, it's just MOREEEEEEEE on all the levels

I get that as fans we are always looking for a deep meaning but 1989 is lyricly weak. Clean, Style, Blank Space, This Love and You're In Love are good but the rest seems so empty of emotions and feelings.

I'm hoping that the vault are more vulnerable

it's no folklore but i think there are some lines in each song that really zing for me. i do think people have been saying this about 1989 for a while, this is very reminiscent of what people were saying like in 2016 HAHA

Two More Names Announced for Have Yourself a Merry Indie Christmas

"Holy Day" was written especially for this album by André Csernak, a Swedish composer and pianist based in Malmö, who has co-written songs with Johan Agebjörn for his Sally Shapiro project. André also sang backing vocals on Sad Cities (2022).  André had this to say about his song -

‘The story behind my track "Holy Day" is quite interesting. The day before entering the studio all was set for another song, called "Climbing the Aerial" which describes a starry sky in midwinter. Drums (naturally including jingle bells) were programmed, lyrics halfway there, everything else well planned. I took a walk to finish the lyrics and BAM, out of nowhere, "Holy Day" just appeared in my head. Too simple, almost naïve, I tried to get it out of my system to work on my celestial lyrics, but it refused to leave. Being a believer in the flow-of-life-philosophy, I changed plans, ultimately writing a song much more lyricly relevant and encouraging than ambitious depictions of the beauty of Orion’.

This was one of the first tracks that I selected for the album, and it has had to withstand the challenge of hundreds of songs to stay there. But it is that good. The singer puts the song in context here:

“Ivy” reflects on Christmas through a different lens - like Joni Mitchell’s “River”, it hints at loneliness that can run deep while others are celebrating togetherness. But sometimes a song can help as a guide through sadness or difficulty, something to hold onto that allows an emotional state time to breathe. The homeless figure of Ivy, surrounded by church bells and rain, leans into her memory of “River” and perhaps finds some small comfort in acknowledging the truth of her own suffering’.

Proceeds from all purchases of the single, “Ivy”, on Bandcamp, have been and will continue to be donated to Shelter, the homelessness charity. This year Marlody is happy to be supporting Crisis through the Have Yourselves a Merry Indie Christmas compilation.

Marlody’s first album, I’m Not Sure at All, will be released on the indie Skep Wax label in January 2023, with the track “Summer” coming out as a single on 4th November.

The shine on box set has multiple cds, track 28 is on the 4th album, 'Wish you were here'. It is called 'shine on you crazy diamond pts 6-9', and the song starts as the song 'Wish you were here' stops. This matters since Harry's 'two ghosts' lyricly references the song.

Here are the lyrics to SOYCD pts 6-9

The lyrics for pts 1-5 also have some note worthy lines.

"Remember when you were young, You shone like the Sun" (this reminds me of the peculiar boy)
