Good Omens S3 director speculations

In the last few days there have been a few suspicious things on social media regarding S3 - but bear in mind that nothing has been officialy said ;) :)

The Good Omens HQ and Terry Pratchett Estate account started rebloging posts from Rachel Talalay on twitter and bluesky.

There are photos from Edinburgh zoo.

A month ago Rachel Talalay posted that she is going for a few months filming in which her name has not been announced yet.

So, we know that she is in Edinburgh, for a few months filming, and GO HQ and TP account are suspiciously reblogging her posts. 🧐 :)

Who is Rachel Talalay? - She is an american director and producer who also worked on british shows such as Doctor Who and Sherlock.

Her and David while working on DW :).

So... yeah. :) Let's wait for the official announcement, but the clues are leading this way :)),

Beebs the (self) exiled?

From what we saw in monkey wrench episode 4 Walrinians appear to be some sort of warrior species akin to Klingons. Big boys with unlimited strength, and very little in the way of patience.

The way some people react/talk about them (ricket, mek weevil guy) makes it seem that they're not a species to be mess with.

Even the way Ajax speaks about the house of Baraak and Beebs parents gives me the feeling that it was a powerful family until either Beebs was born or that he did something to soil the family name.

We also see Him using his larger status by buying beebs repairs and dinner to lord over him, trapping him in societal convention trap where he has to play by his rules.

So my theory goes two ways.

A. Beebs was born disabled ( his robot prosthetics, lack of tusks) in which once he was old enough he ran away and became a working drifther til he met Shrike, made the merch group, and hid his culture.

or B. He got disabled, brought dishonor to his house, and was exiled by force via tusk clipping.

my guess, too, would be another Ghovie (and the message that there def will be - unsurprisingly - a 2026 tour leg), in a way?

Another tour in 2026 with Latam dates for sure and probably some more Europe (hopefully no festivals, manifesting🤞🏽) and US would leave a bit of room for putting concert footage together for a movie depending on how they shoot it (I thought they'd film Madison Square Garden, tbh; I see many say Mexico City because there's 3 dates, but originally it was only 1, then due to high demand a 2nd was quickly added and now a 3rd; which would indeed now be a good chance for recording - amazing crowd too! - but a bit short notice to change recording dates, i don't know). If they film this fall there would be more time for editing etc in the break between the 2025 US leg and whatever tour comes in 2026 (even if TF likes to use that break for a covers EP, so who knows).

I'd guess it'd be something like RHRN and merging together the Comic storyline with the one from the chapters and be a somewhat (hopefully satisfying and positive) "end" of the lore that TF has talked about in that interview a few months ago. Like, Papa V finishing this tour, and Copia finding peace with his situation, them meeting (but film cuts off before we see them actually meet or something because he's a little shit like that).

Other guesses would be something like remasters of old records or some unreleased songs (although that seems unlikely since he likes to use discarted-for-now song bits for new songs) or something, but that wouldn't really fit the "he's busy until then" thing; maybe it is really nothing but a soft launch for the 2026 tour, too.

It's also to note that 2026 will be Ghosts 20 year anniversary (unholy shit) so it would be really neat to celebrate that with something like another cool movie project?

hi, how likely do you think that SC does by contract limit Keiko and Hikaru's activity with YK in the future ? because if this reunion live is only a one off event it doesnt seem reasonable to make such long term restriction. And if it does have such restriction in the contract, it is surprising that Keiko and Hikaru would fall for that. Unless Keiko and Hikaru is sommehow being tricked or SC pull some string in a way that Keiko and Hikaru signed the contract without seeing it will come like this

Fair warning, I will be getting into speculative territory with my answer so please keep that in mind and take everything you read with a grain of salt. I honestly don't enjoy speculating about this sort of stuff but it really can't be helped right now since we don't have any details. I'll try my best to keep everything as fact-based as possible.

Also, I can currently not guarantee a great deal of objectivity on the matter since I am feeling very protective of the girls. There's a part of me that is really angry at Yuki Kajiura and while I realise that my anger is mostly irrational and probably misdirected, I cannot help but feel this way. Please forgive me if anything I write in this post comes across as overly harsh towards Yuki Kajiura. If you are one of her hardcore stans, this is not the place to be right now.

Without further ado, let's get to your question...

I personally don’t think Space Craft has the amount of power over Keiko and Hikaru to completely cut them off from Yuki. Keiko is still managed by Tristone and Hikaru is a freelance artist so whatever they signed, or agreed upon, it most likely won't/can't conflict with Keiko's existing management contract and Hikaru's freedoms as freelancer. While I am sure there is some sort of agreement/contract, I very much doubt that it would enforce any sort of long-term commitment that could effectively hinder them from participating in any other activities. As you say, it would be incredibly unwise for Keiko and Hikaru to willingly sign such a restrictive agreement since the costs would far outweigh the gains, especially if they really end up only doing this one concert. They have been in this business for far too long and have surely learned from a fair amount of past mistakes to not let themselves be entrapped like that. They may not have been able to grasp the full extent of their decision (or were unable to predict Yuki's reaction) but to a certain degree, they must have known what awaited them if they agreed to this reunion concert. Just like Wakana knew what she was sacrificing when she decided to stay with Space Craft. In Wakana's case, one could argue that her seamless transition into a stable solo career was worth the price of being shunned. In Keiko's and Hikaru's case, the chance to do a single concert together is hardly worth losing that valuable connection to Yuki. Surely, those decisions weren't made lightly, lots of thought was put into them. So yeah, I don't think such strong restrictions would have been part of the agreement.

As for Space Craft deliberately tricking them, I'd like to believe that they aren't this cruel. Like I have always said, Wakana has decided to stay with them (and continues to stay with them) for a reason so for me, that automatically means that they can't be as evil as so many people make them out to be. I do not doubt that the higher-ups at Space Craft are grumpy old men who regularly take their pettiness to new creative levels just to spite Team Yuki but I'd hope they draw the line at betraying the girls. Basically, I wouldn't put it past them to do nasty stuff like enforcing NDAs, prohibiting the explicit mentioning of Yuki's name or staging news article leaks to publicly embarrass Yuki but I doubt they would intentionally trap the girls in a contract that they absolutely didn't want. I really hope I am right about this because I would hate to see any of them in such a predicament.

In all honesty, I think we mostly owe Keiko's exclusion from the upcoming YKL to Yuki's wheelings and dealings. Keiko's message on Yodel made it sound like she was genuinely hoping to continue working with Yuki and was just as saddened by the announcement as everyone else. As far as we can tell, she took the decision in stride and responded with dignity but she must have been quite disappointed, especially considering she was likely not informed of this decision in advance (she probably had to find out through the official announcement).

Now why would Yuki do such a thing? Once again, I refuse to believe that Yuki would intentionally try to punish or hurt Keiko. Seeing as I can't even imagine Space Craft being this cruel, I certainly struggle to imagine that Yuki would ever be capable of such malice. And I do somewhat believe her when she says she respects the girls. However, and this is a big however, I think Yuki is a very proud (dare I say conceited?) woman. A person of her status is of course allowed a certain measure of pride but I fear it has reached a point where her wounded pride and offended sensibilities are negatively influencing her ability to make rational decisions. As far as I am concerned, this puts her on the same level as all these Space Craft execs everyone keeps complaining about. And don't get me wrong here, I am not trying to diminish Space Craft's role in all of this, they have done their fair share of fucked up things but while everyone was always quick to put all the blame on them, no one really thought to question Yuki's actions during all of this. For me, they are equally at fault. Both parties surely make it difficult for each other and have some sort of leverage they like to use to get the better of the opposing party. But looking at everything from an objective point of view, Yuki has long ago gained significant advantages over Space Craft with all her recent accomplishments so I don't know what she is gaining from continuously manipulating the narrative in a manner that makes her look like she is the only wronged party in all of this while everyone else is either made to look evil or simply thrown under the bus.

I wish she would just swallow her pride, be the better person and make an effort to differentiate herself from the people at Space Craft whose petty behaviour she so clearly disapproves of. Unfortunately, she doesn't seem to recognise the hypocrisy in her own actions and she certainly doesn't come across as the type of person who is willing to make any concessions which is probably one of the main reasons the feud between her and SC still hasn't been resolved.

The higher-ups at Space Craft and Yuki are doing all of the string pulling and as long as they are motivated by pettiness, we sadly won't be seeing any improvement of the situation. The biggest tragedy in all of this is that Wakana, Keiko and Hikaru have always been the collateral damage of this childish feud. From day one, they have been caught in the trenches and forced to bear the brunt of the immature actions of their seniors. Hardcore YK stans may disagree but Kalafina isn't just Yuki's creation, throughout the years, it has become so much more and the girls have contributed just as much (if not more!) to shape the Kalafina we all know and love. How were they repaid for their efforts? First, they had pretty much their life's content, more than ten years worth of hard work and dedication, abruptly ripped from them only to be left to fend for themselves with little to no external support. Then they received nothing but horrible backlash for attempting to recreate something that was so incredibly special to them and now they seem to have been entirely abandoned for simply going through with a project that at its core was only meant to bring joy.

My only hope right now is that this unfortunate situation can be turned into many opportunities to enable some more Kalafina concerts as well as increase their solo activities. It would break my heart to just see them do nothing. I will not say that their sacrifice was completely in vain because that Kalafina Anniversary Live was obviously so important and so special to so many people (including the girls), we all had such an amazing time. But that just can't have been it, it's too high a price to pay for a single night of happiness. The girls need to get more out of this, they deserve it!

What do you think the vampiric eyecolors of Marius Magnus and Akasha are going to be? I’m most curious about Akasha. It has to be something dazzling so I’m thinking either pure red or milky white

magnus - no strong opinion other than i hope they lean into a creepy appearance. void-black, grey, even violet. i would love if he had cataracts (unsure if vampirism could heal that) and had a cloudy appearance to them. like, imagine magnus’ eyesight is poor so he must get close to lestat’s face to view him over that week, couldn’t see his perfect fledgling fully. awful.

marius - to be honest, a color id personally love would be roman bronze+green (copper alloy, my beloved). bronze oxidizing and corroding like his love. warm-colored when he’s playing fatherlover. like the narrative play you could have through his eyes alone…at the end of the day, i’m sure they’ll go for his book blue, which ya, i do think there’s importance in his similarity to lestat. i only hope they’d make it more of a faded steely blue. oh, or like a mirrored silver-blue! “mirrored surface reflecting yourself back as i shape you into my image”

akasha - i’d avoid pure red here. it risks veering into negative stereotypes i hope the show steers clear of. like marius, narrative storytelling through eye color: she believes she’s right, absolute - tragic and terrifying. if the world isn’t as she sees it, she will never admit that. she’ll burn it all before she concedes. so, an almost burnt gold would my personal favorite. not for royalty, but for divine right. she rules because she believes the world is meant to be hers. color contacts can be difficult, but referencing her stone-like appearance through bronze gold, or marbled eyes could be interesting too; another symbolic note at her inflexibility. since eye colors seem to reflect mood or Gifts, her eyes could shift milky white when she’s tapped into the vampiric network. (sidebar: aaliyah’s green eyes as akasha were beautiful too)

So I normally post BSG related content here but today I wanted to take the time to talk about the Wednesday Season 2 Trailer that dropped today!!! Oh my God there is so much to unpack. I'm going to go over some of the stuff/the things that piqued my interest (mostly because I'm doing this at work haha) I'll probably make another post later about the rest or in more depth though I think I covered most of everything I wanted to. We shall see. But let's get into it!

WARNING: spoilers for season 1 (obviously)

Wednesday going through airport security. Probably just her going home because if I remember correctly her home is a ways away from Nevermore but I had been under the impression they just drove there since they used their car. So if that isn't her going home I'm not sure where she's going. Maybe though with the amount of weapons she has with her it is school or possibly somewhere for one of her investigations (this is an edit but maybe also potentially she is visiting Enid because I remember she asked her to over the break).

Does Pugsley have powers now? There's that little clip of the family driving in the car and he like hits the Jericho sign with like electricity or something of the sort. So that's interesting. Maybe he has powers similar to Uncle Fester?

No sign of Xavier. That doesn't necessarily prove whether or not Percy is in this season but it gives me the idea that he likely won't be. Not sure if they've recasted him or just wrote him off as he left Nevermore or something. But if there is no Xavier I personally am happy as I wasn't a huge fan of Xavier (and not just because of the love triangle stuff, I just didn't like him as a character in general he came off as creepy and stalkerish to me, just weird vibes I didn't like). Just my opinion.

They show Bianca during the dialogue of "every family has dark secrets" which leads me to believe they will be going into more of her family stuff which excites me because I was partly worried they weren't going to come back to that/just leave it as a loose end.

Tyler is also shown during the above dialogue too which gives me hope they'll be getting into more of him and the Hyde and maybe even his mother and all of that. Hopefully we'll get to learn more about his family and how his mother being a Hyde changed things for him and his dad.

With Wednesday bleeding out of her eyes I believe that has something to do with her psychic abilities especially her being a Raven as her mother warned her about that in Season 1, also because that content is shown during the line "and secrets can have deadly consequences." Since I believe most likely that relates to her visions that probably means her visions get stronger or more frequent, maybe even both. Or maybe more violent/realistic too possibly.

The scene with Wednesday and the Hyde I find so interesting I really wanna know what's going on there because he runs towards her but seems to stop/like he's not going to attack. The setting also seems to be maybe Willow Hill which leads me to theorize multiple things: either Tyler escaped from his cell, Wednesday let him out/helped him escape, or he was allowed to walk around the facility with her (but I highly doubt that based on how they had him locked up in his cell).

There still seem to be murders happening. Between a car accident and a scene with someone's glasses in the woods and that person screaming, etc. What's behind the murders this time? Not sure but I highly doubt Tyler since it has been shown he's locked up (unless he does escape and the murders are after that). A new potential creature or villain could be introduced, maybe potentially Wednesday's stalker (which I hope they get into).

No sign of Laurel. While it has never been confirmed that she was killed that was the idea we were given but again not confirmed so she could still potentially be around, but I hope not for everyone's sake, especially Tyler.

It looks like Pugsley will be joining Nevermore (he's in a Nevermore uniform) so he might get roped into some of the mysteries going on and Wednesday investigating but we'll also maybe just get to see how he fares at Nevermore.

Uncle Fester will be back which is exciting and maybe means more Addams Family members will appear.

It looks like there's a festival/carnival again which should be fun and I'm curious how it will be compared to the one in the first season. I think it would be really cool if they did a parallel of sorts.

I'm curious what's going on with the scene where Wednesday looks like she had been kidnapped almost at a table with a bunch of creepy dolls. I'm curious what's going on there in general, whether or not she actually got kidnapped (maybe by her stalker perhaps) or if she set it up herself.

Also just some of my thoughts I really hope Tyler gets a redemption arc of sorts or at least we get some sort of closure regarding him and everything with his mom and being a Hyde, etc. I hope they get into it more and show how his being a Hyde isn't really under his control. I'm also curious to see if he is masterless now (assuming Laurel is dead) or if he has a new master, potentially Wednesday like some people are theorizing. Also I would love for him and Wednesday to reconcile, whether that be as lovers or just friends. I just want them to be on good terms again.

Okay, that's all I have for now haha! Feel free to share your thoughts, theories or correct anything I may have gotten wrong. I just wanted to share my thoughts as I'm super excited and wanted to talk about it with others!
