Oh goodness where do I begin!!! LONG POST AHEAD!!!! Ok soooo I have some posts tagged as #mad t fandom lore thanks to @spikrock and @hattersgirlalice for giving me the inspiration to start this whole rabbit hole of nostalgia lol which showcases the basic general info of the mtp band performer's nicknames and noteworthy moments in the fandom (mostly gifs of the band that altered the fandom in some way, and fanart from the captains)

U can watch all the videos of the band performing on YouTube (There's numerous sources but I personally like to watch Nick Turchens playlist another place to find vids of T are just random clips here on Tumblr)

The OG Captains from what I can personally remember were @briannacherrygarcia she was THE ARTIST! she made the majority of the fanart headcanons for the fandom along with Storywhisper who wrote fanfics! (unfortunately they're deactivated and it still makes me sad I wanted to reread all their fics to freshen up on the lore but alas they are lost in the void somewhere as far as I know if anybody has links saved uhhhh help a girl out 👀)

There's many other talented fanfic authors and fan-artists!!! Gifs and Photography were a HUGE part of the fandom! People would make reaction gifs out of any and everything! Alot of shippy moments that were captured by these talented peeps made us all go feral EVERY SINGLE. TIME. BCUZ THEY WERE OUR ONLY REFERENCE FOR CANON CHARACTERIZATION STUFF.

I'm still a little iffy on sharing the irl identities for new fans cuz the whole character integrity thing at Disney AND ALL THE OG FANS REMEMBER ALL THE DRAMA ABOUT THIS TYPE OF STUFF IYKYK First I would have to get consent from a trusted source who can confirm that they are ok with fans knowing thier identity outside of T. Y'all gotta be respectful this time frfr 😒🙄

And not to toot my own horn but I've made a few MTP fanarts recently tagged in #myart and I'm in the middle of making my own Mad T Party Universe. Taking inspiration from multiple headcanons and performances from the fandom and combining them all together in a multi chapter art/comic thing??? IDK I'm not a writer but imma just post art pieces here and there with lore sprinkled in or something low-key if anybody wants to help me write it I'd totally appreciate it cuz how the hell do authors DO THIS ALL THE TIME 😭😩 y'all are troopers for keeping all these random facts and characters in ur head all the damn time🙃 and the audacity to have it in a linear timeline?? TMAGP Episodes 7 & 8 Reactions

That was totally my face during both episodes, I swear.

Spoilers below!

Okay, I'm freaking out on a cellular level, it feels like.

Episode 6 had the introduction of new OIAR employee, Celia Ripley, who is voiced by Lowri Ann Davies. Those of us from the TMA fandom recognize her as the voice of Lynne Hammond who later became Celia because her name was taken from her after the Change. There have been speculations on whether she is playing the same Celia (even though this is a separate universe) or if this is just a little wink from Jonny and Alex behind the scenes. But then came the next 2 episodes.

The sheer amount of lore that was dropped in these 2 episodes has the fandom REELING. So, let's get into what we've heard!!

EPISODE 7: Right off the bat, Celia not only references that the dated computer system is basically better than "wrestling with tape recorders and manila folders." This feels like a TARGETED MISSILE at the TMA fandom. But right after that, she asks if any of the spoken cases have anything in common, and if there's a way to search the cases that have common threads, like, "Oh I don’t know. Every case about being buried alive or meat or… whatever." And if that wasn't enough, she recognizes the voice that Alice calls Chester (AKA, John!).

Those statements alone have me thinking with 99.99999999% certainty that this is the SAME Celia from TMA (or at least, she's tapped into her memories in some way).

Apart from Celia, we have Hilltop being referenced in a case, which could very well mean that it's a similar situation from TMA. Very possibly a rift in space-time or whatever. Some nexus of power or something.

Then Sam received a supposedly internal email from someone called "John" that contained an address and a name. Does this mean that John is truly trapped in the computer system like we've all been theorizing? Is this his attempt at making contact and warning Sam not to follow in his footsteps? AGH!

And then we have poor Colin, driven mad by whatever's corrupting the code he's been trying to maintain, taped over his webcam, and full on refusing any electronics to enter his office (that weren't already there, and he must have clearly tampered with them so they cannot spy on him). He even attacks Sam when he pulls out his phone. That man has a lifetime subscription to Paranoia Plus, if you ask me, poor thing.

Lastly, we get confirmation that Lena at least tried to kill Klaus, but may not have succeeded, and Gwen's blackmail of her puts her in a new role of "External Liaison," whatever that may be. (Oh boy, oh boy.)

And if that wasn't enough, we have today's episode....

EPISODE 8: No preamble on this one, just straight into a case. And man, are we having fun with the whole liminal horror plus Stranger vibes in this one! But the GOOD SH*T comes after the case ends.

Poor Colin's been put on Mental Health Leave, so I'm really hoping that wasn't the last we'll 'see' of him. And the banter between Gwen and Alice has much more of an edge now that Gwen's been promoted. But!!!

Sam and Celia went off together after they ended their shifts early (ooooh), and who did they meet?

GERRY EFFING KEAY AND HIS 'GEE-GEE' GERTRUDE!!!!

And I checked, yes, they are 100% voiced by their TMA counterparts, Jon Gracey and Sue Sims (Jonny's mom).

Gertrude calls Gerry her grandson (though I'm curious if this means Gerry's actual mother is dead here too, and when Gertrude stepped in as a surrogate, or if she's actually his grandmother).

When Sam and Celia ask about the Magnus Institute, they both kind of go quiet, like they don't know what they're allowed to say or if they can trust these strangers who randomly showed up to their house. Sam reveals that he was part of their "gifted kids" program (hello, ARG info!) and saw Gerry was also listed and wanted to "swap stories." Gertrude seems to want to push them away, all protective, but Gerry just says he doesn't remember much.

Did Gertrude blow up the Magnus Institute in this universe and adopt Gerry after she found him there?!?

And finally, after Gertrude kind of rushes them out, Celia makes a deal with Sam. They agree to keep track of anything that falls under each other's mystery interests. Because she's "doing a favor for Georgie" (HFGJHFD!), she needs to look into "Weird physics stuff: time travel, other dimensions, teleportation, all that good stuff."

Was Celia sent here from the TMA dimension to do recon?!?

Anyway, there's so much more to dive into, but those are the things that are currently making my brain buzz. How has your Thursday been?

of all my transformers takes, i feel like the one that'll get me sent directly to fandom hell is my feral hatred of the term "femme"

like genuinely it's such a stupid term. not because i don't think the robots can't have gender. because i do think they have some concept of gender. but because it's just woman 2.0

like you've got this super interesting alien species. they've got their own culture, their own language, their own ideas of sexuality and right and wrong, and their own religion. and to see most of the fandom look at that and go "but what if i just made man and woman but for robots" pisses me off

it makes me mad because it's fucking boring as shit. you've got all this cool worldbuilding and lore and you decide that the best thing to do when discussing robot gender is just to give them human gender but slightly to the left

"but icy, how to you distinguish the women transformers from the male ones?"

just fucking use mech for all of them. i use mech/mecha as a catch all term. it's my replacement for person or man or guy. like when someone says "you guys" they could obviously be referring to a group of all men, but let's be real here, "you guys" as it is used in colloquial english, is a gender neutral term despite having a more gendered term within it.

and it's specifically the term femme that grinds my gears. i don't have any issues with people headcanoning characters using she/her pronouns. i think that's cool as hell because pronouns do not equate to gender and in a fandom where like, 90% of the characters use he/him it's nice to see some switchups for pronouns because it gets a little repetitive after a while. but the term femme just tells me that you subscribe to the idea that the alien robot species who do not have the same concepts and ideas of gender as humans do, somehow managed to craft together the exact same gender concepts as an organic species halfway across the galaxy.

and i'm sure someone might be like "well it's not a gender thing" but i only ever see the term femme used to describe a canon character who uses she/her pronouns (like arcee or elita-1) or to describe a fandom headcanon that revolves around a character using she/her pronouns (like starscream or ravage) it has everything to do with how the fandom seems to cling to the idea that cybertronians have to have the same concepts of gender for humans

i've been in this fandom for a little over a year and despite going through forums and tumblr posts and even looking at twitter for a tiny bit, i've yet to see an actual attempt at exploring the concepts of cybertronian gender.

so here's mine; taken from my worldbuilding ideas that i'm sorting out for my in the works fan continuity

cybertronian gender, like a lot of their societal norms, is tied to one's altmode.

as taken from the marriam-webster dictionary: gender is - a subclass within a grammatical class (such as noun, pronoun, adjective, or verb) of a language that is partly arbitrary but also partly based on distinguishable characteristics (such as shape, social rank, manner of existence, or sex) and that determines agreement with and selection of other words or grammatical forms

now applying that to a species that has the specific characteristic of being able to literally change shape with the assistance of an internal organ (ie the t-cog) leads me to the idea that instead of gender being based on the biological sex like it is for humans, gender is instead rooted in the altmode.

the terms of seeker and speedster are adjectives to describe the altmode of a cybertronian, but also can describe the gender. this isn't meant to be a direct 1-1 copy of human ideas of sex and gender but instead a theoretical worldbuilding exercise in how a species that does not reproduce in a sexual manner would develop similar concepts of personal expressions through their established canon biology.

within my worldbuilding. the common language packs of cybertron come with three sets of standard, altmode neutral pronouns. these roughly translated into english, are he, she, and they. notice how i said altmode neutral pronouns. that's because most altmodes have their own sets of established pronouns that crop up within the groups.

this particular idea ties in with how my versions of cybertronians communicate. basically cybertronians communicate both via verbal speech, such as talking using a vocaliser, but also via manipulating their EM fields, and attaching non-verbal alterations to their spoken words via radio waves and the EM field.

so the pronoun [He] when used in a sentence, might have extra attachments added onto it.

EX: [He (positive/neutral) went to my house the other day.]

So in this case the speaker is referring to someone in a positive or neutral manner.

Here's another one using pronouns on a personal level when referring to one's self.

EX: [Hello. (courteous) My name is Starscream (Vosian - Seeker). I use He/Him (Neutral) pronouns.]

This is a typical cybertronian style of greeting. It includes a hello to the other party/s, the title of the individual along with their region of origin/residence and altmode, and finally their preferred set or sets of altmode neutral pronouns. In this case, Starscream would tag his "Hello" with a neutral emotion, being courteous but not excited because the mech he's talking to is someone he doesn't know but isn't enemies with. He then attaches his region of origin "Vos" and his altmode group "Seeker" and finally caps it off with his preferred set of pronouns "He/Him" which has a neutral emotion modifier tagged onto it because while it's his preferred set of pronouns in the neutral sense, it's not what he'd like to be using all the time.

he/him, she/her, and they/them are all equally neutral and for all cybertronians they exist in a state of purely personal preference. there's nothing about arcee using she/her pronouns that makes her more woman gendered anymore than starscream using he/him pronouns makes him male gendered. that's just human bias. they're robots, so they don't view themselves in the same way. those sets of pronouns, again, are merely translated into english for the reader's convenience.

Now I've thrown around the term "altmode neutral" quite a bit so here's an explanation for that.

Cybertronians with the same or similar altmodes will often develop languages and cultures surrounding those altmodes, similar to how many cultures and identities are developed through similarities with each other. This varies from region to region, with many languages and cultures not meshing together even if those mecha have the same altmode.

A jet like Pharma who was raised in Iacon around primarily ground based altmodes tends to use pronouns specific to grounder based language families while someone like Starscream or Thundercracker, who are from Vos, use altmode specific pronouns indicative of language families developed by mostly flight frames.

The common language data pack exists as an easy way for mecha to communicate with each other without potentially butchering another individual's native language. While one could theoretically download a whole language into their brain module, their actual speech would likely sound distorted or unnatural due to the fact that the brain module only retains the information that was on the download and is unable to account for things like accents, region dialects, and other such nuances in languages

Altmode specific pronouns are often tagged with extra modifiers and would function similarly to the concept of neo pronouns in english.

Megatron as an example has a tank altmode and his specific altmode pronouns are chk/chiks and using them in spoken dialogue would require one to either create a noice similar to a tank canon loading with their vocaliser, or in another tank's case, would simply have them use their own tank barrel to produce the noise.

flight frames often clank their wings together or whistle as their altmode specific pronouns. speedsters will revv their engines. smaller cars like bumblebee or cliffjumper will beep their horns, and ambulances like ratchet will whoop their sirens.

going back to my "pharma raised in iacon" example. he's a jet, but rather than clanking his wings together, he'll utilize his inbuilt siren (installed while he was in medical school) as his altmode specific pronouns. it, roughly translated to written form is wheep/whoop

this also extends to preferences for partners. i've seen people joke about how ratchet has a thing for speedsters because of his thing with drift and rodimus, but genuinely i do think that within the idea of altmodes being tied to gender, mecha would develop preferences for certain altmodes.

and when i say preference, i do mean just a preference. altmodes are fluid things within cybertronian society. megatron, as an example, is a gun, a tank, and a heavy bomber plane across varying continuities, yet at the end of the day, he's still megatron. his altmode is not what defines him as a character.

therefore i think changing altmodes is purely a thing that's tied to economic status. it's very expensive to have the whole exoframe completely reformatted so those who regularly change their altmodes either have shanix to spare, or have saved up enough money to have the procedures done.

this is even touched upon within idw's version of cybertron, what with the existence of relinquishment clinics, where mecha will go and donate their frames for money, and then those shells can be bought so another individual can have a new altmode.

when a mech decides to have their altmode changed they'll often shift up their altmode specific pronouns too. a smaller car changing altmodes into a bigger vehicle will instead honk their horn instead of beeping or maybe they'll revv their engines louder just to signify that they've changed altmodes.

going back to my sentence examples. here's one with ratchet and pharma introducing themselves to a patient

EX:

Ratchet: Hello (positive/friendly/welcoming) My name is Ratchet (Vaporex - Ambulance - Medic) I use He/Him (Positive) and siren whoops pronouns.

Pharma: Hello (kind). My name is Pharma (Iacon - Jet - Medic). I use He/Him and clanks wings/whoops sirens pronouns.

like i said, this isn't meant to be a direct 1-1 with human genders. cybertronian altmodes within my fan continuity defy more than just how another individual views them. they can signify occupation, social standing, and economic class. and some mecha even choose to disregard their altmodes entirely when it comes to their personal expression, sticking exclusively to the gender neutral pronouns.

my reply on that post was about the idea that the fandom would be unwelcoming to plural folk. i basically said that i myself am plural and that while we cannot control the actions of the fandom, we absolutely curate bad behavior in the fancord where we can catch it, and obviously do not discourage sch fictives considering *i* am a clown with fictives.

but i will add since im here that kitty blocking you is not because you Dared to criticize kit. it's because all of the dogpiling and negativity was unbelievably stressful, you all behave as if there is no person behind the screen, or that she is trying to hide behind trauma as an 'excuse.' that is Not the case. kitty blocked, and will continue to block, every single person involved with those blogs just because again, it was so stressful as a traumatized individual. so much toxicity buried any potentially Good criticisms. we Hear yall on the issues like barry not being drawn as fat as he usee to be anymore, or polly missing their cane, we Will rectify actual issues like that.

we welcome issues being brought up and have listened many times before. the fact of the matter is is that no one was going about it constructively at all.

While I do interact with some criticism blogs, I legitimately don't care for some of the criticism from blogs and approach the media as someone entirely new to it. Media analysis is my hobby, and I see so much potential in Sparklecare plus the related media like the therapy spinoff as someone who has dealt with stuff like systemic ableism and interpersonal ableism. I think some of the criticism blogs don't exactly focus on the bigger issues at hand- the lack of nuance, pacing, the high barrier of entry to being able to understand the media through expecting readers to have done hours of scrolling through social media for lore, the problems of not having page numbers on the site visible and not being able to easily skip to specific pages, etc. However, you do not help yourself here by clearly never having actually read and understood my posts. In fact, I do see some staff acting like trauma makes the media immune to criticism, when trauma can make beautiful art that can speak to people at a core level like Alice: Madness Returns. It just can't get that good without people actually being able to point out things that can be fixed and improved upon. The timing for being blocked despite never actually interacting with the main sparklecare blog plus the posts about how people shouldn't take it as anything other than vent art despite the site's about page itself claiming it is a social commentary tell me that it was about my posts and critique of the media as what it claims itself to be. I had never seen anyone else talk about it in that way in the tags, which was astounding to me as someone that reads social commentary like Discworld and is currently working through Lolita so I can write about the objectification of CSA survivors and erasure of our stories and identities by abusers. If it was never meant to be seen as social commentary, that needs to be removed from the site.

I approach it less like a disappointed fan and more like a creative because I've been in Kittycorn's position at about the same age- 15. I wanted to make a twine game about my trauma and abuse I was still undergoing because I wanted to know why I was being abused and it was a cry for someone to help me. There were also many other projects, and some that I have refined over time. I have OCs I talk about and I use them to explore parts of myself. This is my disability blog too, and I'm going to have opinions on disability-related media and representation in it.

I honestly suggest you read over the posts I have written about Sparklecare and then reevaluate if you think I am coming from a malicious place like you seem to think I am.

As for the alterhuman thing, I will say that it was from publicly available information at the time. I'm not going to be in a fandom discord when I have stuff like a job to worry about and the whole media is a migraine risk to me.

Also- I've seen some staff literally tokenize Kittycorn and act like kits schizophrenia is what makes kit excused from all critique. The holding up of kit as a bully victim and not a 23 year old person able to handle kits own issues is infantilizing to disabled people. We can handle our own shit. You personally need to learn the line between bullying and publicly discussing media that was made public, as someone who got extensively bullied in school for years. It's not the same thing here. Kittycorn is a person behind the screen- but so are the people you proclaim as bullies and dehumanize by acting like all criticism is unfounded or coming from "bad people."

Literally saw a TikTok where someone stitched a video of Tyler Posey talking about how Stiles or Derek are great but it's his (Tyler/Scott's) show and the person stitching it scoffed and said basically "no the f it isn't"

..... he literally was pointing out straight facts. It *is* his show, he is the titular Teen Wolf, everything in the show connects back to him. It's 2023 and these loony stans are just as ignorant and vile as ever. Though I have to laugh that they think simply because they have written tons of fanfiction centering Stiles, that means it influences the show.

This is nothing new. As you might know because I've never hid it, I do a search every day for new Teen Wolf fictions with Scott in it, excluding Bad Friend Scott and Bad Alpha Scott and Scott-Bashing (as useless as that is because 50% of the stories that fall into the above categories are untagged), but in the vicious reaction to the movie, I've taken to changing the "<1 day" tag to "3650 days ago" in order to find things a little less malevolent. Essentially, I'm reading stories from 2013.

And the results are eerily similar.

In the older stories, Scott is most often positioned as an antagonist to the real protagonists of the series: Derek and/or Stiles. He's either in the doghouse for his defeat of Derek and Gerard in Master Plan (2x12), or he's being urged with the need to join Derek's pack for his own good, or he's being confronted with the illegitimacy of his rejection of Derek, which is based not on Derek being a brutal manipulative power-mad alpha but is based on a groundless dislike or even hatred. Sometimes, this conflict has already been resolved, in which case he's shoved into "loyal beta" role who serves as Stiles's emotional support with a one-dimensional relationship with Isaac or Allison (or both) as a treat.

The Alpha pack, when addressed, is depicted as interested in Derek or -- for some reason -- Stiles. Their actions do frequently provide Scott with the opportunity to prove his loyalty to Stiles and/or Derek. In other words, there is no relation to what happened on the screen or what will happen on the screen.

Flash-forward to ten years later and it's the same thing.

In story after story written in reaction to the movie, Scott is most often positioned as antagonist. He's either in the doghouse for his defeat of the nogitsune and Harris (stupefying, I know), or he's being slandered as not being a good adopted father for Eli, or he's being confronted with the illegitimacy of his relationship with Stiles, which is not informed by the fact that they've lived separate lives for 13 years but focused on the idea that Scott should have based his entire existence around Stiles's. For instance, he's excoriated for not still driving a 46-year-old Jeep or being tricked by the same demon fox that rode Stiles around like a bumper car or not choosing to die instead of Derek.

When they say that they reject canon, they aren't kidding. Fandom's deranged revenge fantasy -- and make no make mistake the goal is revenge because their every reaction to the movie is nothing but hatred -- is entirely based not on what happened on the screen but on what happened more than a decade ago -- Scott McCall was revealed to be the Teen Wolf.

Look, contrary to that enormous racist's attempt to position any other character as the focus of Teen Wolf and hide it behind a thought experiment when it was an excuse to cut Tyler Posey out of cast pictures, there is no Teen Wolf story without Scott. No plot line, no character, no piece of lore was written or executed that didn't have direct bearing on Scott. Not one.

It's sad Tyler Posey has to make a joke about it being his show when every part of the movie was about Scott. I mean, the fact that the only reason that Derek Hale was given a son in the first place was so, in the end, adopting Eli could transition Scott from Teen Wolf to father of a Teen Wolf in two-and-a-half hours is incontrovertible. And the rage of a racist fandom that still, after 12 years, can't wrap their head around a story that focuses on a Latino will never be satisfied. But they'll certainly try.

hello, i'm brina/sabrina, mentally unwell and obsessed with faeries. i overthink everything and am more afraid of you than you could possibly be of me. i wont put my entire guidelines in here because, honestly, i just kept blabbering. but general important things;

william afton is a villain. he's a horrible despicable person. but he also has his moments. even the most unforgivable people do. but, i do NOT agree with the fandoms desire to turn him into a p*do. that's even worse than what he already is. and what he already is is terrible. that's why he's headcanon based. i've worked on his canon for ages at this point. i dont actually care what scott produces now, i'm doing what i want with him, but i will take inspiration from the series. i do tend to follow along with what my partners write in fandom though, for ease.

cassandra is my character now, but her past iterations have been on this blog for over 10 years now. since september 2013, in fact. she used to be b.urton's dormouse, and named mallymkun, but she's not anymore. she's my own (sort of) girl. she's my character now, and a cheshire cat now. she's evolved well beyond any past 'canons' i may have had. her most progressed and written out verses are the 'canon' verse, and my o.nce u.pon a t.ime verse. but i do have verses in multiple other fandoms for her.

there's a level of reflection i put into these characters. william is often considered a great man by those around him. tragedy follows him, and people are unaware that he is the cause of that tragedy. he uses his charm and prestige to his advantage. he takes full advantage of others innocence to make himself look better, and is an excellent liar. he's still a serial killer, and oft twists herrings into his words.

cassandra, on the other hand, is often twisted into a villain by those around her in her home. when in truth, she's monstrously loyal, but holds care she doesn't know what to do with. she's painted a villain by the monarchy to ensure she can't gain traction, and she's in hiding for most of her life to avoid imprisonment. she's not necessarily a hero, and even her species consider her existence a threat, but she's not entirely a villain either unless she's pushed to the point. she does holds reigns with the image of a sacrificial lamb, but she can very very easily turn into a monster herself if the charge arises.

(if you recognize me from the past and don't want to follow me, that's fine. i remember some people but not everyone. i know some of my old friends have new guidelines that i wouldn't fall under, and that's chill. your comfort first babes.)

As long as we’re spilling some tea, can we talk about how Zhongli has been horribly mischaracterized by the fandom? I legit find it hard to find a good story where Zhongli isn’t a manipulative and selfish a-hole that only cares for his own interests.

Even when they're trying to make Zhongli 'nice' they make him an ass over his contracts even though Zhongli's deal with his contracts is that they're made fairly and benefit both parties.

I don't think this fandom can handle that Zhongli is just nice! They have to have him be an ass at some point only to become nicer due to the influence of another...

It's why so many people came to hate Guizhong because many of the fandom (especially the shippers) have spread the myth that Zhongli only became kind because of her! Even though Zhongli had been protecting mortals even before he ever met Guizhong 🙄

People seem to think that because of how Zhongli presented himself during the archon war that was his personality even though the lore itself says that was a mask he wore because he believed it was what was needed from him.

The fandom keeps trying to force Zhongli into the tropes they expect a character of his archetype should fall into. He's the oldest of the Gods on Teyvet so he must be strict in his ways, he represents Geo so he must be unbending and unwilling to change, he's not the most expressive (though he is far from as stoic as the fandom makes him out to be) so that means he's cold and cruel however canon Zhongli is none of these!

I don't really care when it's a darkfic that purposely makes characters OOC (I don't really care for them but I understand why they are) but it seems to be a common consensus to make Zhongli this way and I'll turn blue in the face screaming about how much I hate it. It's even worse when he's a background character too, I've had to put down many fics with other ships I enjoy because of how they interpret my favourite character T-T

It's why I hate that the word "betrayed" seems to be used all the time when it comes to how people explain Zhongli's actions during the archon quest. I find it hilarious (and extremely aggravating) that the man who almost killed everyone isn't called the betrayer, noooo, it's just Zhongli whose in the wrong in this scenario. See, look how mad Childe was after all!!!!

Urgh, sorry for the rant about Childe but he's another character that has been massacred by this fandom. He's either an annoying fuckboy or he's a whiney asshole who can't get over the fact the person he was using happened to be using him too and will be depressed and horrible to Zhongli until the man apologises to him 🙄

Zhongli and Childe need to be taken away from this fandom but then again I tend to feel that way about all my favourites. I just get very protective over them.

25 - common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing

"we need more x episodes", i think. for like, anything. because people say they want more episodes with a certain ship, or character and then they get mad when it doesnt line up with the intricate lore theyve built up for the characters.

which like, i think its fine (great even!) to have your own very specific interpretations of these characters, god knows i do and ill tell anyone about them with even the slightest provocation. but getting mad when the show doesnt line up to that is just kind of tiresome. the canon is loose and molded by what m&t think is funniest this week, characters will act differently if it better suits their joke.

if i have to see one more 'kyle was OOC in this episode' because he didnt act according to fanon, i think i will be annoyed and bitch about it in private to my friends bc i know how to behave myself online!

T: Any fandom tropes you can't stand?

Heh. I have a distaste for anything that -- this isn't a wildly common trope, notably, just one I see on occasion -- anything that portrays Hawk as helpless / passive. I think he gets fandom-ified sometimes into somebody who Needs Saving (and given some canon events, like, I Get It), but part of why I love him as a character so terribly much is his ridiculous scrappiness. He really doesn't take mistreatment / his situation / even his own negative emotions lying down. Guy's a fighter, even when he wishes he wasn't, and I don't really gel with fanon takes that leave him without some degree of agency in action (with the notable exception of him being literally drafted).

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

[sickos voice] YES!!!! HAHAHA!!! YES!!!! I'm sure I've said some of these before, so sorry for repeats, but addition of fanwriters makes this particularly exciting yaaaay okay.

Non-fanfic: Well. God. Sorry for the particularly cancellable white-male-loquaciousness double-whammy of Thomas Wolfe and David Foster Wallace. Always chasing Wolfe's sort of deeply poetic, emotional, very sensitive way of writing--how reflective he is, his insane force / presence on the page, and some other intangible quality that just makes me go "jesus fucking christ I have felt exactly this, how did he put it into words" every other page. Makes me insane. As for DFW, well, sorry again -- get a lot out of that sort of grounded intellectualism-feel in his writing (we can argue about its value / veracity forever, but push to shove it really works for me as a reader).

Uhhh Vonnegut obviously, so much so that I almost feel like I don't need to say it 'cause I'm always transparently in writing trying to be even 1/100 as funny, sensitive, and useful in my cynicism as him.

Virginia Woolf!!! Man to render somebody's internal state of being so so vividly. I think I clearly ripped her off in S2G2 ch4, but my god how can you Not she's brilliant. Following from that Alison Bechdel because, talk about your intellectual prose. Man. Can I say fucking Voltaire without anybody getting mad at me. Sorry. Candide novella ever and probably the only thing that will get me through learning French.

Now. Fanfic authors --

First and foremost, cleanwhiteroom, wherever they are. I got into Pacific Rim late, but Designations Congruent with Things is genuinely one of the most meaningful texts I have in my life, fanfic or no. Insane. Brilliant, intellectual, warm, approachable, funny, wildly original. Also, Parker lore, 80% of the reason I was a physicist until I wasn't.

Uhh I can't possibly list everyone in MASH right now, but a quick skim -- Granspn (brilliantly written and beautifully imagined), yukiawison for skillful inventiveness and tackling exactly the themes I always want to see, yaroantheo for the just. MAN!!! the so-well-rendered warmth and depth of feeling and kindness in Homecoming, Remyfire's grasp of physicality and vivid tangibility, gayfranzkafka for really effective formatting play, raven/singlecrow for a Hawk I'll never forget. I am CERTAIN there are others, these are just top of the head.

And, maybe a surprise contender given that I don't talk a ton about BCS -- jimmymcgools does things with landscape and light that make me fucking nuts. I've gone back and just stared at their descriptions of place, light shape and quality, land, etc. -- master at work fr.

H: How would you describe your style?

I do not think there is a single question I could possibly be less objective or accurate on LMAO. My first thoughts in order were: Bad (nonspecific and too mean to Parkers Past), Sprawling (this seems accurate), Concerned With Realism (not actively ATTEMPTING it, notably, but -- concerned. I am Concerned with Realism. Feels true). Melodramatic but maybe not with as much pejorative sentiment as the word usually carries. Verbose. I try to gesture in the direction of comedy? In general summary: Freakin' weird, dude.

Annoys me the most? Probably:

-people being weirdly obsessed with Scott Smajor or Grian. There’s nothing wrong with hyperfixating on a character or enjoying his character (I do myself) but god forbid i make either of their characters make a bad decision in my fics. I’ve had people get really mad in the comments of fics and had to delete comments, just because Scott’s character is bad or Grian’s character does something bad (it isn’t even a common occurrence but in the one or two fics where they are people aren’t happy)

-Flower Husbands stans. Again, there’s nothing wrong with liking a ship (I personally don’t like it but I respect those who do) but some people get really annoyed if there’s a ship other than flower husbands involving Jimmy or Scott, or if a ship with Scott or Jimmy is set in an SMP where Flower Husbands is somewhat canon. Nothing wrong with liking a ship but for the love of god leave other people’s ships alone T-T (I’m slightly scared that fh is slowly becoming this fandom’s DNF)

-Every character’s arc being made about the bigger CCs. BigB’s pretty cool character in double life (admittedly I haven’t watched his POV but I’ve seen a lot of analysis posts so he seems cool) being made into just ‘the guy Grian cheated on Scar with), for example. It’s just- I don’t like it

-People getting mad at Martyn’s lore-? I don’t think he’s stated that it’s part of the outright canon, just that it’s part of his canon, so it’s fairly easy to ignore it if you don’t like it?

-Another Martyn-related thing: People getting mad at his LimLife ending? The life series is riddled with betrayals and backstabbings but Martyn does it and suddenly he’s bad? 🤨

-Things with smaller ships being made about bigger ships. I’m not saying this is just a MCYT fandom problem, because it isn’t, but if I’m writing a fic about a rarepair like Solidaridubs or Shadowrot or something it’s a tad annoying when I briefly mention Scarian or FH and some people zoom in on that for the rest of the story

Now for characters and ships-

-I don’t loathe flower husbands but it’s been constantly pushed into my face to the point where I just kind of get annoyed when I see it. I have blocked the tags so that doesn’t bother me too much anymore lol

-I don’t dislike Grian’s character persay, (i actually quite enjoy his character) but it is annoying how people make every character or interaction somehow be about him or Scarian in some way

UH, you got me a little hard on this one.

The thing is that my mind starts working when I finish X series or game. I do not know why but I just rush it into my brain like a rat would rush the last piece of pizza in the New York streets. Then, as if God had enlightened me with knowledge, start.

I don't think the ships I enjoy are, like, no-popular (?). I do remember having a ship between Jay (Marble Hornets) and another character, but I completely forgot about it.

Could we say something about Madness Combat? Yes, but the fandom lives up to his name; everything has a ship already and, in one way or another, is popular. But thanks to you now I have this little worm in my head catching serotonine when I see things of HouTata. /pos (They're lovely)

I do, however, enjoy (ironically) Springtrap x Belos. Best ship ever.

Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything) -THE ASEXUAL HEADCANNON THAT RANDOMLY APPEARS. IT'S LIKE A WAVE OF LITTLE PEOPLE SCREAMING, FAR FAR AWAY BEHIND ME: "Asexual! Asexual! ASEXUAL!" -ANY character with glasses has the dad squints, I will not elaborate but I will fight with swords to anyone who disagree. -Nightmares, heavy, toecurling nightmares.

Many headcanon start like a pop ad, many of them are stupid, there indeed are more AND I FORGET TO WRITE THEM SO I CAN HAVE THEM THERE. X .
