Full house au roommate notes pt 2

Alright, here's the second part to this post. It'll also involve a few random side notes and headcanons and whatnot

As usual, this will contain spoilers for my full house au

Ok so as I said this part is mostly about the kids. There are 7 of them split up into 3 rooms, so they had to be split 2/2/3, with one room having a bunk bed instead of a second single-person bed. They were originally planning to put all the girls together since, y'know, numbers, as well as what I said in the last part about the parents not wanting boys and girls to share rooms*

*I wanted to sort of expand on this for a moment. Personally I think it's silly- and kinda gross tbh- to suggest boys and girls can't share rooms or to assume that something would happen if they did, but it felt like a realistic thing for parents of teens to take issue with in a situation like this, considering their generally heteronormative culture. I know mine would have, lol.

Of course everyone's different about it, but those who didn't think it should matter (Joyce, Karen, Susan) didn't think it was worth arguing with those who did (Hopper, Ted, the Sinclairs). Hopper was particularly against coed rooming, since Mike was part of the equation (he's a little behind lol, mileven is not together in this au; they broke up pretty much right after the events of s4), and the Sinclairs mainly didn't want Lucas rooming with Max. Claudia didn't care either way.

As for the guardians of the "adults" (aside from Nancy & Jon, whose parents I've already talked about), they either don't care, since their kids are grown, or weren't even involved (the Harringtons are left out of the loop and don't know about any of this and I don't know if Argyle even has parents). The Buckleys are pretty chill in general and Wayne has never been one to tell his nephew what to do

However, they decided against this arrangement for Erica's sake, since she doesn't really know the other girls all that well yet, and we ended up with the actual roommate pairings, as follows

Erica, Lucas, and Dustin are roommates, since E & L are siblings, L & D are longtime friends, and E & D have more history than she has with the others (s3). I also intentionally placed these 3 on the same floor as Eddie and Steve, since those two are familiar with and important to the boys and since Steve is the "adult" Erica knows the best. (Dustin may not have an older sibling to share a floor with like Mike Will El and Erica but he does have his dads). Basically it's the Scoops Troop floor, but with Eddie & Lucas instead of Robin

That left Max and El to be roommates, which they were both thrilled about- M told E it would be like having a sleepover every night, and that they should put up a "no boys allowed" sign on their door just to piss the boys off. Protective dad Hopper enthusiastically agreed with this idea and didn't catch his daughter rolling her eyes

I also put Robin & Nancy on the same side as Max & El so they share a bathroom; seemed like that would be preferable to sharing one with the guys (not to be sexist or anything but this way the ladies don't have to deal with piss on the toilet seat or awkward questions about the "feminine hygiene products" in the cabinet. Which reminds me- did anyone ever explain to El wtf a period is??? Bc I highly doubt the Hawkins lab kids had any sort of health education and usually that's something your mom would teach you about. Idk I might address that at some point. But also- if any of the girls are having shark week problems and Robin or Nancy isn't available, they go to Eddie. I haven't decided if he's out to them but either way they know they can count on him for that sort of thing)

And then there's Mike and Will. I'm pretty sure they were always going to room together, regardless of what I had to do with organizing everyone else, because they've been practically inseparable ever since the Byers reunited with the Hawkins crew. Sharing a room is comfortable, familiar, after their years of childhood friendship. And, again, I made sure to place them on the same floor as their siblings; Nancy is diagonal to Mike, and Will is two doors down from Jon and just across the hall from El

I think that's about it for the roommate notes, the next segment might be closer looks/design details of individual rooms. Nobody asked for it but I'm having fun, so. Yeah >:3

Miscellaneous villain team au facts and stuff (mainly about Evil Dob/Ed)

- Lady Liliana chose to resurrect Evil Dob/Ed not only for Dob having to face an evil version of himself again but also because he almost killed one of the oxventurers (Egbert) and Prudence would hate seeing someone that rejected her.

- The resurrection was like the creation of Frankenstein except Liliana did not shout "It's alive!" and cackle. Instead, Ed quickly sat up and breathed heavily as if he just woke from a bad nightmare and she just said smth like "Ah, good.". Then she walked off.

- Ed is mad that she isn't in awe of him and thinking he's the coolest guy ever. He just came back to life, how can you not be incredibly impressed?!

- It took a while for Katie and Ed to be on good terms. Katie spent a while trying her best to avoid him bc of the fact he's a clone of Dob.

- Eventually, they're as thick as thieves, and Katie confides in him.

- Katie tells Ed that she has a crush on Lady Liliana and internally he thinks, "You have awful taste." but he doesn't say it.

- Katie and the Clonebert(s) all think Lady Liliana is the coolest but Ed does not see it. He's the only one seeing clearly because he doesn't have on the crush on the lady or is a group of Egbert clones that have only known her teachings.

- Ed practically hates her and Liliana knows. She also knows that he wouldn't abandon or turn on her because he doesn't want to lose Katie or the Clonebert. She uses that knowledge to her advantage.

- When the oxventurers learn that Ed hates Lady Liliana, they attempt to use that to their advantage and get him on their side. They, but mainly Dob, try to recruit him occasionally. It doesn't work because he's loyal to his friends and despises the guild.

- Katie hurts whenever she hears a lute play. She just needs to hear a single note, and suddenly, she feels pain like someone is pulling at her heart.

- Katie has a bit of an aversion to music as a whole bc of Dob but she finds herself being fond of the piano.

- The Cloneberts all snuggle in a big pile when they sleep.

- The Clonebert is very physically affectionate with his siblings and will offer Katie a hug whenever he's worried about her. It took a few times before Katie let herself accept the hugs. They're the best hugs she's ever had.

- Katie has painted everyone on the team's nails at least once. She does Ed's when they have sleepovers. He likes them black. She painted the Clonebert's after he said he likes her nail polish. She usually paints the Clonebert's nail with a nail polish that has glitter in it bc he likes the shiny and how it reflects in the light. She's only painted Liliana's once but it was when Lady Liliana asked when and why everyone else on the team had painted nails. When Katie told her she did it, Liliana smiled and said Katie should do hers so everyone on the team had painted nails. The nail polish was purple.

- Ed loves to bite, both in fighting context and in affection context.

- The Clonebert does want to meet Egbert. He wants to meet the man he's cloned after, even if he's an enemy. His loves his siblings and how caring they are for each other, but he wants his dad.

- Lady Liliana knows a lot about astrology and reads her, Katie, and Ed's horoscopes. She considers reading the Cloneberts horoscopes a waste of time.

- The Cloneberts are like giant guard dogs and will follow the people they like around like dogs.

- Ed has a bunch of nicknames for everyone on the team. Katie is the only other person that actually seems fond of the nicknames.

- Katie and Ed both really want tattoos. Lady Liliana considers them a waste of time.

- The Clonebert is very weak to cats and will lay on the ground with them while talking to them.

- Cats could rub up against Clonebert and purr and he will already be crying. Ed and Lady Liliana would look at him like he's weird if they ever saw it.

Yes I did! I have been waiting for someone to answer me because no one (you know who you are ) is answering my texts anyways as an avid Donna tartt lover I really did enjoy the book I think at the start it was a little slow mainly because it had to establish the story etc etc but I really did enjoy it I think something I really enjoyed was the fact that it kept me constantly wondering what was going to happen next (I found this especially prominent when Richard starts going off about how he “should have known what they were doing “ regarding the whole bachanal ritual (gang bang) and how he was questioning what happened with the bedsheets and why they were all so concerned about the weather ) also that ending fucked me up good ANYWAYS Moreover I found it deeply distressing at times mainly because I just wanted to know what was going on but alas I really fun read I also loved how there was certain parts of the book that you kind of had to remember in order to understand it also I found it kind of funny like I’m not even going to lie the book was fucking hilarious the amount of times I would say something was gonna happen as a joke AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE TRUE truly so funny also all of them are SO dumb and I love that the only way they all dealt with their guilt was to just hook up with each other and become avid alcoholics like that’s just kinda #real and so #girl of them im not going to talk about the whole Charles and Camilla thing cuz that was um not very slay but ALAS in terms of characters I fucking loved Richard so much he’s so stupid and silly the way he just hooked up with that one girl AND kissed francais all in one night literally productive bisexual king I found it really funny how he got mad fomo bc he wasn’t invited to their orgy ritual whatever the fuck that was like sir they killed someone 😭😭😭 I think looking back on the book as a whole francais was probably my favourite at times I related to him and his struggles in terms of the twins I didn’t really care for them much until the end idk I have mixed feelings about both esp Charles but I’ll probably comment on that when I’m sober anyways Henry (sigh) I hate to say it but I kind of sort of didn’t mind him at the start he had this swag about him that kind of made me like him also the fact he spoke multiple languages made me jealous bc I’ve always wanted to do that but towards the end.................. hmm also I’m SORRY but him and Richard should’ve fucked I think that would’ve solved so many problems bunny pissed me off at times but I think his character was really interesting i was intrigued with the idea that he was able to control certain aspects of what his friends did even after his death (in a metaphorical sense ) and lastly Julian reminds me of pretty much every single teacher I’ve ever had piled into one I kind of found it amusing that he was literally like “okey “ when they told him what they did anyways I think I’m taking up half the dash w this sorry everyone 💞💞💞💞💞

and suddenly, haru has a purpose again. he went to school, cooperated with whatever activity or scheme they thought of for the swim club to work, etc, cleaned the pool, taught rei how to swim FROM SCRATCH, and even did the whole performance on stage to gather members haha -

ikuya was upset bc haru quit swimming, even when they had so much going on during those times with ikuya & friends. they did a relay too, they hung out at haru's, had a sleepover, ikuya cried and opened up etc, but haru quit swimming, and guess who the reason was for that 🥲

okay so hiii i must say i’m coming here to just rant a bit and please please please do not feel pressured to answer if you don’t feel like it, there’s totally no problem!! i just think you’re one of the most genuine people on here and i feel like i can safely say it? so let me just get this off my chest and get to the point, maybe you’ve got any advice or maybe not, either way it’s absolutely fine! so about a year ago i made a friend in my uni, it was my first year there and i was really happy to get to know her. we have a few similar interests and basically felt good around each other. a few weeks later she introduced me to another person she met that i knew only bc i saw her a few times in the hallway, never really talked to her or anything. we spent halloween together, just the three of us and i immediately clicked with the other girl as well. since then we became sort of an inseparable trio, we would meet up after uni a lot, hang out during breaks, stuff like that. the thing is, my former friend, let’s call her sally, the one i met first is the total opposite of the two of us. she’s got many of her obsessions with celebrities, movies, tv shows, of course we both do too but she’s really into it and talks about it most of the time. she’s got some traumatic things happen to her in the past which causes her to be a little difficult in any sort of relationships. cause see, 90% of the time sally is actually really lovely and nice, cares about us and we feel good with her, we’re all really tight with each other. had many sleepovers, went on vacation together last month. but the thing is, sometimes she can be really insensitive when it comes to others, will say things that hurt us and she doesn’t even realize that. we also had two major fights where she was acting absolutely unreasonably, was saying things that didn’t make sense and we were both telling that to her in the group chat. the bigger fights always happened on messenger through messages and audio messages, we never really fought in real life, sometimes we would bicker with each other until it became mean, well, mainly from her end but it never escalated to anything. we had another big fight a few days ago, she was saying complete nonsense and we both felt hurt by it. ever since that happened we both been not ignoring her but also not really starting a convo first either, when she’s acting like everything’s fine when it’s not. we both feel hurt by her and she sort of crossed a line a few days ago. the thing is she doesn’t even realize that and she thinks she’s doing the good thing. it’s almost impossible for her to understand that we don’t feel that way though. i talked with my other friend for two hours today about her and what to do. she wants to drop her completely, says it’s too much for her and it’s just really annoying. i don’t want to because she’s not a bad person and we both know it and she actually cares about that, she’s just really hard to deal with sometimes because she’s got a few things slightly messed up in her head. so my other friend came up with an idea that we sit her down and talk to her, if she’ll realize what she’s doing is wrong then we will be able to make it work, if not, she suggests we totally block her everywhere but would still have to see her basically at uni every day and i just know it would be hard. and i really still care about her and i know she does too, she admitted that herself, it’s just hard to deal with and it’s easier for her to drop it. i fear this conversation we will have together will end up being a nasty disaster and we will start fighting. i don’t want to lose either of them, i want us to still be a group together but we really need to set some boundaries. this whole things is making me so anxious, i barely know anyone beside them at my uni and we have so many good memories together and we actually get together very well like 90 or 95% of the time. i really don’t know what to do and ugh, it’s so frustrating…

In my tiny, little opinion...I wouldn't ghost her, if that's a possibility? At least not without talking to her first! I've been ghosted before and it's incredibly difficult to navigate through. Especially if you don't know why or what happened! And it makes it hard to learn how to do better in the future!

I would def say talk to her, attempt to remain friends, or even just...slowly decrease the amount of times you hang out? And maybe she won't notice??

It's hard over text, things can absolutely get misconstrued and so can tones!! That makes it even harder to figure out just WHAT the issue is and how to solve it!!

And if she's got her obsessions and things from her past that make it hard for her going forward, definitely take that into consideration! It's not an excuse but I would try to explain exactly what about her behavior is hurting you in the nicest way you can?? LISTEN I FEEL LIKE I'M NOT EXPLAINING IT VERY WELL BUT

Put yours cards on the table! Explain that you want to stay friends but you'd like some things to change! What she does next is up to her! If she doesn't take it well, maybe mute her? Don't interact or engage for a while. If space seems like the best option, then take as much space as you guys need!

At the end of the day, you have to do what's best for you!!! And I'm so sorry this is something you're having to navigate through!! The good news is, this will be a lesson that will help all of you be better people and friends going forward, and that's such a good thing!!!

jungkook didn’t like the fact that he had to have this talk, but he understands it’s importance. him and his daughter have a sacred bond with one another that he doesn’t wanna risk breaking all because of his overprotectiveness.

that overprotectiveness does come in handy though because their daughters’ partner is always on time when it comes to getting her and dropping her off. honestly, if his daughter ever tried to convince their partner to skip curfew, their partner would text jungkook to snitch 💀

this has definitely led the daughter to question if she has a relationship or if her dad has a relationship with her s/o.

after about three months of them dating, jungkook turns into a pretty chill dad to be real. at that point, he understands that he can’t protect her from pain. so, he might as well just try his best to support his daughter through everything she does.

4. streaming

You rolled your shoulders back and fell into your seat, spinning idly with the weight of your body. You had thanked the guys for joining you on your stream, lamenting how you honestly enjoyed their company and would love to be in their content too if they needed or wanted you there. Of course, you had also gone through a five hour stream (not the longest one you’d had), and completely neglected the entire video you still actually had to edit and post.

So you pulled your chair closer to your desk, assuming your position and powering on your pc to begin the long and arduous process of editing your video. You really should’ve hired an editor or something when you had the chance.

A knock at your door alerted you to someone’s presence, obviously. “Come in,” You called mindlessly, not glancing over at your door. It creaked slightly as it opened, muffled footsteps nearing you before a mug was gingerly placed on your desk, a safe distance from your arms or anything that could knock it over or be a danger to your pc.

You blinked, turning your head.

Kageyama stood there, wearing his usual dark blue hoodie and sweatpants. “What, uh, what’s this? Are you poisoning me, Kags?” You asked playfully, pushing your keyboard away from you slightly and grasping the mug. It was warm in your palm.

“No!” The male flushed, looking away from you and mumbling out something that could couldn’t hear. cuz he was mumbling. “I was, uh, talking to Shoyo and he said to… check up on you after your streams,” He finally told you, speaking loud enough to reach your ears.

“Oh!” You smiled, understanding now. “Thank you, Kags, that’s nice of you… you still didn’t tell me what the drink is,” You pointed out, laughing softly as Kageyama’s eyes widened slightly. For someone who looked so stone-faced, he was awfully expressive. “Sit,” You offered, moving one of the chairs the other guys had been sitting it to be closer to your current position.

“It’s tea.. Sho told me what type would work best for you and insisted on calling the entire time I made it,” Kageyama rolled his eyes, huffing in slight annoyance at your more energetic friend’s gestures.

You chuckled, sniffing the mug and smiling at the warm and familiar scent that filled your nostrils. Hinata really did know you. “Sounds like him,” You admitted. “He probably was all ‘make sure she does this and that’ on you, wasn’t he?” You raised your brow in question. Kageyama nodded at you. Again, you chuckled.

Finally, you brought the mug to your lips, carefully sipping some of the liquid, it wasn’t boiling hot, so you didn’t have to worry about scalding your tongue. Yay! “How, um, was your stream?” Kageyama asked. You lowered the cup after taking a sufficient drink, shrugging and placing it back on your desk.

“It was pretty fun, the guys interacted well with the chat and all that,” You said, leaning back in your chair. You turned the question on him now, asking about what he did or just how his day was. Even though it had been a month since you moved in, you rarely had one-on-one time with any of the guys. Mostly it was in groups or something. Kageyama was more talkative when it was just you two, you noticed. Maybe he wasn’t a crowd person.

You went back to editing while he just sat beside you and talked. Eventually, you got your video done and began uploading it. “Want to watch a movie or something while I wait for this to finish?” You ask, jabbing your thumb in the direction of your screen. Kageyama stares for a second in silence before nodding. “Great!” You clap your hands together.

“You pick the movie, and I’ll set up the bedding!” You declared, standing up from your chair and stretching your back.

“Bedding?”

“Yup!” you popped the ‘p’ and began grabbing extra pillows from your closet, courtesy of the many sleepovers you had with Hinata, Tanaka, or Nishinoya where they left their things behind for you to lay claim to. “You know, any good movie viewing has to have comfortable blankets and such, otherwise you’ll just focus on wherever you’re uncomfortably sitting!” You said, speaking as if it was common knowledge and totally normal. Kageyama accepted your rules and took the laptop you offered him (another reason you were broke).

He helped you fix your blankets and pillows on your bed in a sort of nest-like situation big enough for the two of you, with an extra thick pillow placed between you two to act as the mount for the laptop. Kageyama picked a random movie for you two and settled onto your bed, at your request.

“Did you do this often with your other friends?” He asked while the movie loaded. You snuggled into your blankets, peering at him from underneath the fluffy duvet. “Sometimes, mainly with Yachi or Kiyoko.” You explained, attention turning back to the screen.

Kageyama nodded and let his eyes go to the screen as well, watching the movie as it finally started playing. Your whole focus was on the screen, watching the scenes play out with an intense look, processing the plot. You only looked away to glance at your PC, squinting at the loading video to see its progress, and then returning to the movie.

les amis hcs that i accept as cold hard (modern) canon

les amis do have sleepovers at least twice a month. hosting is up to whoever feels most comfortable doing so, and it is mainly coordinated around feuilly’s schedule (no one wants him to feel left out bc of how much he works)

courfeyrac is consistently the best host, simply bc he loves his friends and enjoys planning events, and he goes all in; all different types of snacks, drinks, huge selection of movies, blankets and pillows, and- much to everyone’s dismay- matching pjs (yes it was an investment that he was more than willing to commit to)

while some of them have known each other for longer than others may have (the mighty triumvirate are childhood best friends, and courfeyrac gladly makes this known from how many times he’s embarrassed the other two with awful childhood photos), each of les amis have standalone friendships with each other. they can and do hang out individually as well as in groups

most surprising (at least for people not in their friend group) is that cosette and feuilly are really close friends. they’re both film nerds and they celebrate ramadan together- cosette has, on multiple occasions, cooked for both of them for eid

enjolras and bahorel entrust each other with their lives, and will literally fight the world to protect each other (bahorel once headbutted someone who was harassing enjolras at a bar, and now [lightly] headbutting each other is how they show affection)

grantaire is the only one in their friend group who doesn’t room with someone else. he briefly stayed with jehan+eponine and later jbm (who all ofc gladly welcomed him), but once he found a stable job as a bartender, he started living alone. they still regularly visit (“reparations,” musichetta will joke, but really they know it’s to make sure grantaire never feels too disconnected from the group)

courfeyrac and combeferre have known each other so well for so long that they can understand each other with a simple eyebrow raise. everyone jokes about how they have ESP, but truthfully, everyone wants what they have

grantaire might know the trendiest places in paris, but joly knows all the ones that are wheelchair accessible. he has 4+ hours of research culminated in a master list on an excel spreadsheet. no one knows it exists- they all think joly has just been to every possible hangout spot and eatery in paris and ranked them accordingly

musichetta resents the idea that she’s some magical healthy communication wizard/manic pixie dream girl in her relationship. to be honest, she’s got the worst temper out of the three, and it took a lot of fucking up and a lot of emotional digging for them to get to where they are now (which is, to say, a really nice, healthy, loving polyamorous relationship, but it took some WORK)

enjolras has taken a bullet for each of his friends. literally. once he tried joking that it’s a rite of passage in their friendship, but was really only met with concerned faces, some of them wet with tears. somehow each time everyone is too horrified to notice the trend (eponine did smack him on the head for joking about it too soon, though)

bossuet used to be insecure about balding early- he refused to cut his hair and would wear bandanas to cover his receding hairline. jehan was the one to told him to embrace it and suggested they shave their heads together.

combeferre approaches marius, years after the “Political Disagreement” (which grantaire has lovingly immortalised in a sketchbook), with a heart felt apology and a box of green tea macarons. marius had forgotten about the incident entirely

bahorel tried to teach cosette how to box one day and it went disastrously. she kept yelping before he could (lightly tap) her and run away, and felt too bad to hit him. later, she gave someone a black eye at a protest. bahorel was secretly impressed, and not-so-secretly terrified

grantaire and enjolras often swap books, annotating until the margins are filled to the brim with jokes, entire arguments, and flirtatious remarks. once courfeyrac found this out, when he had to borrow a book from one of them, he took about a thousand pictures and sent it to the other amis. (they bravely endured all the teasing with red faces, but they still continue to do it regardless)

eponine is, understandably, weird about letting people in. everyone respects her boundaries and no one tries to pry to deep, but she knows that if she ever needs to talk to someone with no judgement (like about her growing feelings for marius and cosette), combeferre is a surprisingly good listener

musichetta put enjolras on a curly-hair-care-routine that he follows religiously. they have made each other homemade flaxseed gels and avocado hair masques before. (he’s never really cared about his appearance all that much, but it warms his heart that his friends can find just about anything to share with each other)

marius notices all of this about his friends and loves them for it. he tried baking vegan cookies for them to show his appreciation before his oven set on fire. bossuet (lovingly) reminds everyone of this unfortunate fact anytime they try to mention his own unlucky streaks.

he begged his parents for one as a pet for five-ever, but they never said yes, he’s asked kiyoko a couple times with the same answer

kuroo has his father under the name “y chromosome 🧬” in his phone (i’ve seen this irl on my friends phone who’s in stem and yknow if the shoe fits-)

fukunaga likes to wear socks with really fun patterns on them, his favorites are a toss-up between blue cowprint and bowling alley floor patterned, everyone on nekoma is lowkey excited to see what socks he pulls up to practice in every day, he has so many different pairs

aone gets sunburnt very easily and so during the summer he has a permanent blush across his face, no matter how much sunscreen he puts on 

at least twice a week, kenma gets so pissed at lev that he just throws whatever he has in his hands at him

once it was a whole phone and he just sent it flying towards his face (you ever get hit by an iphone, especially the bulky ass ones from 2012? that shit HURTS) he had a rectangular bruise on his right cheek for a solid month

speaking of lev, he can’t swim, he forgets nearly every time and then freaks tf out when the pool floor drops after the shallow end (he’s so tall though, yoU SHOULDN’T BE THAT CONCERNED YOUR HEAD IS STILL ABOVE THE WATER-)

suga LOVES the trisha paytas drama and keeping up with what she’s doing, if she posts or says anything major on social media, he always knows immediately and it is everyone else’s problem for the next three days, because that is all he will talk about 

in his second year oikawa did a literal hunt for ushijima’s phone number in high school just to block it. He finally got it from someone in his class and was like “take THAT!” and did a big show of hitting the “block button”. There was literally no change from before. 

on a totally unrelated note, ushijima didn’t have a phone in his second year.
