I am SOOOOO excited that the anime of Mr. Villain's Day Off will start airing in January!! Like YESSSSSSS!!

I WILL be watching because I loved loved LOVED this first volume! I think if you're a fan of Play It Cool, Guys AND pandas, this is a must read…and must watch! 🐼🤩

So normally my books are sacred and I dare not crinkle them. Let alone put stickers and write inside em. But I've come to understand that there's something so personal about marking up a book you love. And I realized this when I found a copy of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet while at a church run thrift store with my roommate. There were NOTES UPON NOTES all over the inside pages of the novel. It was such a treasure to find that there!

So here is what I have done with the first of my favorite books.

I'm not yet brave enough to write elsewhere but I'll reblog with check-ins on the status of my copy of PGSM EE V1 and any other books I choose to mark up 💙

How do you decide if you're going to read a book or not?

For me, the type of rep is a big indicator on if I want to read it or not. I definitely find myself reading fewer and fewer straight white books because there are so many more readily available options. Take this book, for example.

I Hear the Sunspot is a manga series about two boys: Kohei, who has a hearing disability and trouble integrating with his peers, and Taichi, an outgoing and cheerful guy who never met a stranger. They strike a friendship under unlikely circumstances, but is there more brewing?

I am glad to be seeing more disability rep in manga that don't romanticize the disability. I first learned about this series on tiktok. It had me interested initially because it's queer, but then had me sold on hearing disability rep. Hearing loss runs in my family pretty heavily, and I'm always happy to see it included in books more. Some of my other favorites are:

• The Whispering Dark by Kelly Andrew

• A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard

I paired the 3rd volume of the series (and the 1st of Limit) with the bisexual books coasters from @rainbowcratebookbox's December '22 Beautifully Bisexual crate. I use them all the time and probably more than any other box item.

Do you enjoy reading cat manga?

I know I usually feature shoujo titles, but thought I would feature Wonder Cat Kyuu-chan since I'm editing my March Reading Wrap-Up video for tomorrow and was talking about a cat manga!

Also, my four year-old got me hooked on this manga!
