Killing Stalking is not a love story.
This must be the hundredth time I've complained about this but STOP TREATING KILLING STALKING AS BL. It's not a bl about a misunderstood bad boy and a fragile twink. It's a thriller about psychological torture and abuse of all kinds. Sangwo is a STRAIGHT man. He use and weponize Bum love to manipulate him and that's it. It's not enough that the brainless yaoi fans have distorted the work, but the dark romance freaks have joined in! Please tell me if I'm missing something, because I feel stupid, I always thought it was obvious. Honestly, if you don't have the maturity to differentiate between a thriller and a romance or dark romance, maybe you should consider taking a break from consuming media that involves abuse in general.

They both have their pros and cons, from a strictly narrative/plot perspective, the novel tells a more detailed story. The manhwa as you said cuts out small details to make it easier not just for the reader but also the artist drawing the manhwa. But the WN tells the "complete" story with all the details which makes a fuller experience. But on the flip side, Solo Levelling is only good because of its art, the story is some of the most cliche shit that I have ever read. I mean the art is quite literally the reason why Solo Levelling is as popular as it is, because it really doesn't have much going for it apart from that. —Judevin, Comparing solo leveling manga vs novel | MyAnimeList.net (Jul 18, 2021)

Best 23 of BL 2023 - Quirky Awards
SHOCK & AWE AWARDS
1. Biggest BL surprise of 2023:

The last 3 months of 2023 in general got my biggest WTF award.
GMMTV fielding OffGun AND TayNew in the same quarter while also airing Last Twilight
That they ALSO optioned 3 JBLs
That there's a high heat omegaverse BL staring Pavel
That there were 20 BLs airing and none of them Korean.
With 5 VAMPIRE BLs announced for next year
But my prize in this category goes to My Dear Gangster Oppa.

It's just crazy:
Thai talent, Korean money + IP (this is adapted from a manwha) airing on a Chinese channel (iQIYI). Plus it was FUN and made smart reuse of a pair who richly deserved it. I'm delighted by the eclectic insanity of this production. And wonder if any other film genre could even do anything like this.
2. The “that country did WHAT?” award:

The 8th Sense from Korea?!
I mean, seriously?! Dealing with mental health, suicide, darkness, therapy, (tiny) age gap, & first time love BUT FROM KOREA? And then openness and casual boyfriend physical affection? What's next? An actual hard fought coming out narrative with an HEA? Gay domesticity and families?
Careful Korea, you'll strain something. Possibly your own culture and film industry.
I should stop having expectations of Korea, they keep surprising me.
Runners up: Korea letting OnlyOneOf do Bump Up Business not to mention that OmegaX thing. AND Korea adapting Why R U? What are you up to, Korea? Qua? Is this a coded message? Should we send help? Do you need snacks?
3. Biggest casting whoa! where did you come from? award:

GeminiFourth in My School President.
Seriously? Babies what? How did GMMTV find you? How do you exist? How is BL this lucky?
4. That studio did WHAT now? award:

GMMTV putting EarthMix into Moonlight Chicken.
And then doubling down with G4 as the damn sides.
Fucking genius.
5. I’m sad you were ignored award:
Destiny Seeker.
It's just a really fun little Thai pulp, the pairs were good, silly dialogue, plus consent and other good sex rep. I enjoyed it. No one talked about it AT ALL.
6. 2023 BL That Actually Made Me Lose My Mind Award?
Laws of Attraction. -The casting, the crazy story, the soapy drama! But specifically: Film playing Charn - the range of his smiles alone. GLORIOUS
I mean I Feel You Linger in the Air also sparked something in me, but LoA drove me actually nuts.
NARRATIVE AWARDS
7. Best story 2023:

La Pluie
I know, you're surprised, right? At the time I didn't chat much about it but I really enjoyed the discourse others were having. I love anything that really examines the fated mates (soulmates) trope and the idea of "the one". What a clever way to do that. (This is one reason UWMA is my favorite Thai BL.)
This one reminded me of the way Color Rush approached allegory and that's no bad thing. Such an impressive little piece.
8. Best narrative structure 2023 award:
Unintentional Love Story.
I know this may seem a simplistic pick. But I love the tidiness of this no frills contemporary romance, how the culture of work and personal ethics and corruption fight against the main character's affection and integrity. Poor baby boy is driven into a corner and then punished for it. But it is punishment he feels he deserves, and so it is up to his (now) ex to figure out what went wrong and why.
It's just great. I love it when no one is stupid or wrong, it's just impossible circumstances and unintentional love deeply felt.
9. Best 2023 dialogue (script) award:
Jun & Jun
Never before has Korea laced a BL with that much perfectly executed innuendo. It was a master class. I didn't know you could be that lascivious in Korean, quite frankly. Plus the way the 2 Juns constantly seamlessly transition between formal register (work, public - where they are boss/employee) to informal register (when they are alone and age mates + childhood sweethearts).
Beautiful to hear and watch.
10. Favorite scene 2023:
The dub con scene in I Cannot Reach You because I AM TRASH for an out of control seme. I'm sorry I just AM.
I have said it before, I will say it again, NO ONE DOES THIRST like Japan. And when that thirst bubbles over, it is heart-clenching and very hot.
11. The most rewatchable BL of 2023 award:
Our Dating Sim
That scene where they lie on the floor + the stolen kiss + giggle? Come on, it should be on comfort repeat in war rooms. It could bring world peace.
ACTORS & CHARACTERS AWARDS
12. Best performance of a queer actor in a leading role, 2023:
Fluke in Make a Wish.
It was fun to see him as an irreverent immortal and while I love OhmFluke I also really enjoyed this new pairing. It was a genuine pleasure to watch.
13. Best pining 2023:

The moot pining in Tokyo in April is...
Boys, seriously? Japan must you destroy us like this? Hurts so good.
14. Best wingman 2023 (The Namgoong Award)

Tiw from My School President
I mean, come on, of course it's him!
(Also can you believe Mark went on from this to do fricking Only Friends!? To Last Twilight! Come on GMMTV GIVE HIM A LEAD!)

15. Biggest OMG I LOVE you boys together, YAY!

Dimpled McMafia & Feral Bunny Foo Foo from Kiseki Dear to Me.
They were feral for each other.
We were feral for them
It was a whole delightful THING.
16. Most unexpected return of a BL pair? award:
The Private Lessons pair showing up in Love Class 2.
I know it was only a cameo, but SERIOUSLY? Thank you SO MUCH Korea! A big studio picking up a Strongberry pairing? I love you.
Seriously tho, Taiwan & Korea tried for ALL THE CAMEOS this year.
17. Well aren't you two just the prettiest? award:

NetJames in Bed Friend.
Need I say more?
18. LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Bah Vinh in Vian & Mr Cinderella 2. I didn't like either show but I loved him in them. Especially the make outs.
Yes you have chemistry with all the boys in Vietnam and you kiss beautifully. But it's okay now honey, you have the crown. Relax, you're stressing us out.
RANDOM PICKS
19. Favorite Linguistic Moment of 2023:
Our Dating Sim
Caught in the act by the elevator scene. OMG it's so funny. They're being such boyfriend shits to each other, and to be caught in the act by THAT character, and try to manifest formal language whole cloth? Hilarious.
Honorable mention to War Peanuts in Destiny Seeker.
20. Biggest disappointment of 2023:

You Are Mine
Seriously Taiwan, AGAIN you disappoint me with an Office BL? You're Taiwan, land of offices and suits. This should be YOUR SETTING TO WIN. And yet... argh. I mean it wasn't bad. But it wasn't good either. Stop it Taiwan, do better.
Runners up? Between Us, Chains of Heart, Dangerous Romance - this was a HOTLY contested category.
+ 2 Winners in the sub-category of FUCK YOU FOR THAT ENDING award:

The Director who Buys Me Dinner - I mean this nicely but: you have your lane now Korea, stop hurting us, that's Japan's responsibility and they do it better.

I Feel You Linger In the Air - I'm just hugely disappointed. Thailand ALMOST got its second 10/10 from me, but that damn ending.
Argh.
21. Best Wardrobe/Prop Use 2023
The shower of packaged bedsheets in My Personal Weatherman
Amazing. Brilliant. No notes.
22. Best Queer Rep 2023

Chot in Step By Step
In fact, all the queer characters in this show were treated with great integrity.
AND props to this cast for refusing to do fan service. GOOD FOR YOU! Fuck those sasang wankers.
Runners up? The found family cast of Love in Translation and the Rainbow Rice Cakes in The New Employee.
23. Best Meta Trope call out

Tin Tem Jai
Come on, what a zinger, but at themselves (and Taiwan)
Final question: which of the 23 was the hardest for me to pick?
Honestly? Question #1 this year. But also question #20.
(Last year: 2022's Version)
Remember I only pull from shows that were completely finished by the end of 2023. Or The Sign probably would have taken multiple categories. But it will fall into 2024 offerings.

So funny to see the different demographics that each MXTX book series attracts and how that affects the way the fandom interacts with each other and themselves.
SVSSS is a Fandom full of people who embody the 'dont-like-dont-read-it' mindset I believe we need more in fandoms. You wanna ship Shen Qingqiu with Tianlang-jun, Luo Binghe's father? Go ahead. Wanna write a 300k fic about Shen Qingqiu as a bird that follows Luo Binghe around during his childhood? Where's the bloody link. Wanna make memes about Skinzun? Me too, send me all the memes and drawings.
The nature of SVSSS being a meta-retelling of stereotypical Male fantasy harem novels means it references and is heavily influenced by Fandom Culture, especially during Airplane's Extras of his past life.
It's because of that fact it means to read and finish the books, you automatically just have to be a person who's been dealing with fandom culture for a long time. You've learnt to accept that other people ship other ships, you've learned to love the random rare pairs that show up on your homepage that you never would've thought of but now will be hunting for on AO3, you've just learned to have fun with the source material.
This mentality is further pushed by the fact SVSSS doesn't have alot of Canon Material being produced, meaning a majority of content is fanmade for fan consumption. This builds a level of community that means there's not that much discourse, and any discourse there is is usually shut down with a simple "Oh hey Shen Yuan, nice to see you here."
MDZS has a bit more diversity in the people it can attract. It has a well-written love story between WangXian, it has Sibling Angst in the form of the Yunmeng Siblings, Nie brothers, Lan Twin Jades, and the entirety of the Jin Family, and it has deep political intrigue and discusses/dissects discrimination of your birth status (Sexism, Classism, Merit VS Blood). MDZS is also the novel with the most adaptations (The OG Novels, a Donghua, a manwha, audio drama, Life Action in the Untamed, and a manga), meaning more people can consume it in their preferred style.
However, it's due to these reasons that MDZS tends to have a lot of fights/debates in it in terms of interpretations of the characters/plot. Someone who watched the Untamed primarily is going to have a vastly different interpretation of Jiang Cheng’s character than say someone who read the original novels, and someone who watched the Donghua will have different scenes than in the Novel. People who came primarily for the Sibling Angst might wish for Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian to reconcile, while someone else for came for something else might be happy they don't interact.
There's also the fact the story deals with a lot of characters going through extreme circumstances over a long period of time, meaning characters make decisions that might make some fans hate them and some fans want to defend them for it. This overall just causes a lot of debate.
Love the works, love the Fandom, but 99% of fighting is caused by people reading/watching different adaptations which has different portrayals of characters (I'm staring directly at you Jiang Cheng).
I will update this when I finally finish TGCF and can get a glimpse of the Fandom, though would love to see any statements about it or the other fandoms.

Swallow Knights Tales
Elsewhere, I was originally making a post that was going to say something along the lines of:
“Sometimes what tempts me to pick up an action manhwa is simply cuz the characters are goodlooking, for example Swallow Knights Tales”
But as I was taking the pictures of said good looking characters to put in the post, I noticed the series had a romance tag on certain sites. Curious, I looked it up on MU to confirm it and then I just fell down the rabbit hole of Swallow Knights Tales’s NUMEROUS adaptations 💀
Like, the series seems to be based on a popular novel series from the early 2000s (which has a currently ongoing sequel novel series too) and it has seen republications and multiple discontinued adaptations throughout the years 😭😭
- From what I could gather the first Manhwa adaptation of the franchise, called SKT +, published in 2007, got discontinued after 10 volumes cause it was apparently not made from the author’s permission? Not sure about the details, since that is as far as what the fandom wiki mentions [I’ve read that in terms of writing the adaptation was nice, however, apparently certain parts of the fan base didn’t find the art appealing (Oof… ☠️)]

- Later on, in 2010, it got an audio drama, SKT Audio Drama [The only thing I could find out about it was the music was too loud apparently & you couldn’t hear the actors properly so fans were unhappy about that part. Once again, don’t know much else]

- And then it got a manwha again in 2011, under the title Swallow Knights Tales Official Comics. But that got discontinued too cause while apparently the art was nice, it wasn’t well written/it didn’t actually follow the novel properly (seems you can still find reminants of discourse around it on twitter lol?)

- And finally, in 2023, it finally got adapted again, under the title Swallow Knights Tales, and it is currently ongoing on NAVER webtoon (& this is the adaptation I was personally familiar with)

I’m happy to see that atleast the adaptation curse(?) has been broken from the looks of it lmao 🤒
ANYWAYS, in the end, I never even managed to find out whether this actually had romance or not…. ☠️ I’m gonna guess, no…?? (Though, do correct me if I’m wrong!)
However, y’know, atleast I did succeed in my INITIAL goal a bit. As I got to view MC’s beauty in (almost?) every adaptation/work in the franchise. He’s beautiful ❤️🤧

Yk what even though I forgot my other point one of the things I’ll never get over in life is how Villainess Maker WRECKED its own potential to be up there alongside Beware of the Villainess. Like yeah it’s one of the older gens of like rofan manwha that are really beloved through sites like tapas and all those ones and it’ll never lose status for bringing the concept of a villainess forced by an outside being, the [system], or the laws of that world to act in a certain way but it really threw away a lot of itself when it leaned into the romance.
I definitely don’t hate authors for not being experienced in like juggling a lot of sub genres and settings at once. A lot of my favorite works and ones I find joy in are obviously done by ones who are pretty new to the concepts and trying new things out and it’s really charming to see.
It’s just that Villainess Maker threw out the most important aspect of a villainess and novel transmigration series: what about the original protagonist?
Inhales

SHERLOCK IS THEEEE MOST MISSED POTENTIAL CHARACTER OF THAT TIME. She had ALLLLLLLLL the makings of such an interesting character and honestly??? There were THREE mmm four interesting characters in that series: Killian, Sherlock, Ayla’s older brother, and the imperial seamster. But ALL of them got their arcs thrown away or spedran in the name of Killian and Ayla getting to kiss. Hell I’m even mad about Killian’s missed potential cause with all the hundreds of years he lived upset and wanting to kill god to learn SHE was not only the person who wrote him into existence shes the EMPATHY of that same god and because of her own actions she had to leave making probably countless people besides him have to suffer.
But SHERLOCK
She literally is the concept of “I’m the narratives favorite” come to life. It’s NOT talked about enough during discourse and not even touched on at all in the series to her face about how doomed she is. Like yeah Villainess Maker as a baseline was kind of a cliche cookie-cutter villainess series but I refuse to take a blue curtains approach to things.
Sherlock’s ENTIRE life consisted of being on constant danger before being saved by another man. And it likely didn’t even begin after she turned 18 , we see her in her past getting almost kidnapped before saved in exposition on her and it’s just so- jarring. Like the scenes were to serve Ayla and show the full repercussions of her writing and actions in a deeper way than Killian because of how much work she put into Sherlock versus him. But honestly Sherlock missed so much potential with how they spedran what should’ve been a continuous storyline into one SMALL arc because throughout the story they really hit home that Sherlock has three absolute rules protecting her:
1. Sherlock is always the damsel
2. Sherlock is always saved by an attractive man
3. Sherlock will always be loved
The fact that her ENTIRE life consisted of being in danger and having the damsel protagonist trait engrained in her to the point that when Ayla first saw her even she noticed how Sherlock dropped her mask at some points and was completely apathetic to it all. Cause she’s likely been through it before with being taken in by barons at points or saved by rich young men and how the reason she ran a fishery was because she couldn’t decide on who would do the best at protecting her + she wasn’t sure the dangers would end with her getting married.
Now take the idea of spending your entire life with those rules and ZERO knowledge of what’s going on and WHY this is all happening and the only answer you’ve ever been given is “You’re loved by god ^^”. You can’t escape the stale and add onto it that all of a sudden it’s not continuing. And not in the oh she stopped being out in danger, no. What’s STOPPING is the fact that someone she knows or dms knight in shining armor is always saving her. Let’s be real the narrative always favors who it’s from but objectively Ayla is a defenseless rich girl with nobility and a butler by her side. From Sherlock’s perspective she had every RIGHT to be terrified because of all ways for the cycle to start breaking from now the rule that she’s always the center of men’s attention she’s now being saved by a woman who should rightfully hate her?? Sherlock has almost definitely had experiences in the past where friends fiancés have left for the chance to go for her instead and already accepted along with the damsel trait that she can never have female friends. So Ayla’s actions were rightfully deeply upsetting and terrifying to her. The worst parts are how Sherlock didn’t have any sort of resolution to this all. No one sat her down and explained why that was all happening or that she was safe to live as a normal person again since she wasn’t chosen by god. She just had to find a way to cope again.

#yapping#I’m still so upset and it’s been like over a year since the series ended#villainess maker#manwha#justice for Sherlock bro#pretentious reader review#honeystar

The irony within the manwha community is that they love to see their main characters being girlboss and absolutely trashing people who’ve wronged them, but hate it when someone points out that they should girlboss and cut ties with an important character who is either one of the male leads or the dad (and it’s always men with these traits for some reason, there has never been a second female lead with toxic characteristics at the same severity as the men have unless it’s the main villain/ness. And even then, the second female lead is usually hated in the community more than the male lead or dad that shows/showed toxic/lokey abusive/apathetic/no morality characteristics or is just a plain bad person who did bad things/screwed up for no reason).
Like,,, isn’t the whole point of a ‘strong, independent female lead’ supposed to cut off those who are red flags? I guess it only applies to characters the fan base doesn’t like, because all hell breaks lose if it’s a character the fan base does like for whatever reason :|

!!! Yes, I can’t see Lily ever having a kid for those reasons, but also predominately is that Athy is her daughter. Whether Lily or Felix get together or not, them having a child just doesn’t make sense solely because they both treat Athy as if she was theirs. They literally couldn’t love anyone more than Athy.
I really hate that mindset in the manwha community, that the perfect ending is that the ship has a child. Especially when they have a stepson/stepdaughter. It honestly kinda feels like it invalidates them, and that it can’t be a perfect ending unless they have a biological child :/
Spoilers, but hearing that people were so happy that [I became an evil stepmother, but my stepdaughter is just too cute!] the two eventually have their own kid felt so bitter? When the whole point was that she loved and treasured Blanche as her own. I’m not saying having a second child invalidates the first one, I’m just saying that the way it’s pushed for true happiness to be when the couple has a kid despite ANYTHING IN THE PLOT AND THEIR CHARACTERS stating reasons why they wouldn’t need one feels so backwards and sexist. I thought we were moving past this mindset in the twent-first century—that women didn’t need to have a kid (or a relationship, but if the main genre is romance it can’t be avoided ig) to be happy.
It doesn’t apply to every story. There are some couples who I like when they get married and have a kid, because it’s in character of them and their love and relationship to eachother. But more often than not, it appears that’s the only way a fictional couple can be happy and successful.
(Still not over how disappointed and sad people were that Nine and Melissa can’t have biological children so they decide to adopt a girl form an orphanage. It’s one of the sweetest outcomes, but people are really mad that they can’t have a biological child? Really?)
Especially when these stories are characters who reincarnate from, into, or perhaps from AND into a life where they were mistreated by their biological family, or because they were adopted/not a biological child. Wouldn’t you want to love someone who isn’t your bio child even MORE because of your experiences? There’s so little about adopting or just loving your non biological child/stepchild that it feels so infuriating? It’s frustrating how adopted or stepchildren are seen and treated as not as important or not the main characters/main couple’s “actual” child.
why does it have to be sexual though felix and lily could be on the aro/ace spectrum(? i don't exactly ship them but yea i think spoon shouldn't have put the seeds there because they just focused on lucas and athy smh
even if they were in an aro/ace or a queerplatonic relationship I would have troubles to get into it. They aren't really interesting on their own but combined the effect is even worse. If they were isolated from the main cast it would become apparent that they have hardly any traits that could carry an interesting story. Both are too nice and forgiving, too passive in almost every aspect of life and immune to character development when witnessing a lifechanging or traumatic event. I cannot come up with a lovestory for them that would be compelling unless it's somehow tied to Athy.
Felix and Lily are the kind of people who are married to their job or a cause which they dedicate every second of their life to. They are the couple that never noticed they liked each other/ never acted on their feelings until it was too late. They are too much like each other.

I haven’t read the manwha but listen, you just, ya can’t, shit. There’s a romantic ship they named BEEFLEAF, and I don’t know if you all got all your nutrients when you were young, but I can’t deal with this. “It’s because character A likes to eat meat and Character B has a lot of leaf imagery in their design” I feel 57 years old. ‘Here’s my new favorite ship, MEATCURTAINS!” Fuckin “did you hear about the discourse in the ClamFlaps fandom?” I can’t stand any of you

you know what's funny? that i've seen a lot of casual manwha mdzs readers complaining when they find out that LWJ was the top cuz he was the one with the "flustered maiden" looks and personality and wei ying was always talking about how pretty he is but then you have mxtx antis painting LWJ as a brute manly man and wei ying like a tiny fruitcake just because he was reborn 6 centimeters shorter than he used to be kjdksdjkjddsjk. the excuses are so dumb that they just make me cackle
Yes! The scene where WWX pulled LWJ's headband was frequently compared to boys at middle school pulling girls' ponytail just to get their attention. I've seen casual male donghua viewers make humorous comments about LWJ being modeled on 小龍女, one of Jin Yong's famous female characters, because he gave off the "不吃人間煙火" (isolated away from the hustle and bustle of the world) vibe, the same vibe as Shen Qiao (a bottom). Meanwhile, WWX is often compared to Ling Huchong, one of Jin Yong's male protagonists. I think WWX princess LWJ sometimes, he thought it unacceptable for LWJ to sleep on floor. Western fans interpret this as self esteem issues on WWX's part, nah he's only that thoughtful because that's LWJ. If it had been someone like JZX, WWX would've made the peacock sleep on the dirtiest spot. The whole discourse about comfort level shows how much the western fandom want wwx to be the woman in the ship. Men in general care about physical comfort less than women, and WWX can put up with a lot of physical pain and discomfort, WWX is manly. To cope with this, western fans try to turn this into a self worth issue. WWX is a typical laddish carefree wuxia protagonist, people literally have to squint to find womanly trait in him, the only one they can latch on is he's shorter than the top.

who is James Somerton and what did he do?
It’s a guy who makes essay videos on youtube. I knew him because of the ones where he talks in lenght about the connection between the horror genre and queer themes. I liked those a lot because there is not a lot of people who talk about that topic, and there were point in which he actually aknowledges how despite horror has been... unkind to queer people, there are some who still reclaim those symbols and unironically enjoy the genre as a whole (like me, hi). But he also talks about “gay media” in general and thus decided to touch upon on Killing Stalking, making a whole ass video about how he read this story about psychological horror and then was SHOCKED, SHOCKED I TELL YOU, to find teenager girls (or what I assumed he assumed were teenage girls) on Tiktok shipping the main characters. So instead of him being “huh, I wonder what could be the mentality of these shippers, I could try talk to them and do a little more research into what is going on there, maybe I could learn to see something new”, this whole ass grown man went full “these teenage girls are silly, unlike me, who knows all about movies, because they see romance where is no romance and only abuse, and there is something wrong with them for looking at a story on a way different than me and also something wrong in society because BY GOD, something must be wrong in society for people to ship two main characters on a manwha, also something something fetishization of gay relationships because why not”. I was incredibly dissapointed by it. If anyone could see how some people could take a story like KS and try to make something positive out of it, you would think it would be the guy who talked about queer people doing literally that for the entire genre horror. But fuck no. Just because this grown ass fucking man saw a bunch of teenagers on TIKTOK of all places being silly and shipping, then he assumes that everyone who ships the main characters must be as sillies as well, young and silly people who don’t know any better, and he is a strong smarty pants man who knows so much better because he would NEVER ship this particular ship, and isn’t he just so much better for it than these teenage girls on tiktok? I am honestly kinda embarassed that this guy actually felt the need to flex about how much more he knows about movies in front of what he assumed were nothing but teenage girls, and say outright that if you saw anything romantic on KS then there is something wrong with you, that you are consuming the media wrong and you literally cannot interpretate the work on any other way than how he does it, because you will be wrong. It was so gross because I swear it was like seeing just the start of the KS discourse all over again, or even old school anti fujoshi in which you had these 20 something anime fans loosing their shit because someone shipped Vegeta and Goku. And of course, the next day I saw recommended a video that said “Fujoshi cultures need to be stopped” with a image of KS on the thumbnail so I knew, I just fucking knew that Somerton had enabled something fucked up that is going to fuck all over afab queer people and he won’t see any of the consequences or the impact of it. Fuck that guy.

A/B/O tik tok (18+ please)
I've stated previously how problematic I think the discourse around the omegaverse can be, aside from the topic of consent. What I mean by that is how omeagverse was started as an inherently queer-friendly space and there are "woke" and progressive people who are extremely grossed out by it, namely mpreg. Which I don't really want to get into I've made other posts about it.
BUT as someone who loves to indulge in the omegaverse, I have found some of the discourse very interesting. Especially the religious side of it, if you can avoid the people being Islamaphobic. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that with the current popularity of omegaverse and people being more comfortable talking about it I have come to the realization that is not shocking to anyone who knows me in my real life.
If I were in the omegaverse I would more likely than not be an omega.
To be clear this isn't some I'm the main character bullshit, considering the way I act (sexually and non-sexually) and the way my body already functions it makes sense. Here's the warning for sexual topics and reproductive functions.
Alright so let's be real, in my day to day life I am not submissive. In high school I made my principal cry for fun one time, I bullied the varsity basketball team, most of my grade and the grade below me was scared of me. Now I am medicated and have a more healthy relationship with the world around me, but I do still tend to bulldoze people.
In my sex life though I am extremely submissive if I am actually comfortable. I won't go into everything I am into but it's a decent list. My friends make fun of me for being an angry bottom. Not quite bratty, but still.
The fics/manga/manwhas I really really enjoy involves a stronger omega that's only submissive during sex... yes I am projecting.
I have been called out for "nesting" by many a tik tok.
While this might be a result of emotional trauma, I literally always put other people's needs before mine even if I don't want to. I've tried not to and I feel so guilty I get sick.
I am extremely sensitive to smells, on and off of people. But I also have to have comfort smells around me if that makes sense. Candles and incense going at the same time. I steal my partner's clothes to wear for days straight or sleep within my bed and genuinely didn't connect the dots until recently. I will sleep with my face in that cigarette boy's armpit just cause I'm sad and want comfort. This is a cry fro help.
Here's the gross part I get really embarrassed about: I get wet for no reason. Now I know you might be thinking dude that's just discharge, no it's not I know what discharge looks and feels like and what self-lubricating fluids look and feel like. I don't know why. Like I'm too embarrassed to even bring this up to a doctor, so I'm telling all of tumblr instead.
That's my nail in the coffin. I produce slick when I don't want to. If the omegaverse was real I would be an omega. If have to live with this knowledge so do you.

You know
I might just make a half effort webtoon about becoming the villainess’ daughter
because i’m really tired of everything being, “my tyrant dad” or “i’m the villain’s daughter” or literally anything to do with men.
I thought the community found villainesses hot??? Why do people want dilfs but never milfs??? It’s stupid.
So out of spite, I’m going to make a half assed webtoon about being the villainess’ daughter.
