I am so excited to read through so much mediocrity I love wading through garbage in search of a slightly shinier piece of garbage! Honestly my favorite hobby. I've downloaded a bunch of free and cheap English visual novels, as well as like, 20 demos over the last like 3 months in preparation for just going through and binging a bunch of them over a month or 2. Most of them I know literally nothing about, I found a lot of them through just random sources like single Twitter posts or forum posts, or like Steam games with like 10 reviews. Realistically most of them probably won't be amazing given the sheer quantity I've queued up and how unknown they are but like, if I find a single one that's even like a 7/10 it'll make it all worth it. Outside of a few really popular ones like Doki Doki Literature Club and uhhhhhhhh (i'm sure there's others but it supports my point to not be able to even remember any others!) English VNs are like, super niche, like VNs in general are already kinda niche, but English VNs are like, even further beyond like nobody gives a shit about them at all (including me, until now) and that sucks I'm sure there's gotta be some really good ones, but because they're not made in Japan the losers in my silly Discord servers HATE them.

Most of them are also really short, even the longer ones aren't like, 50+ hours which is like, average for what I'm used to. Plus since I'm doing this for the sole purpose of finding new cool stuff I have absolutely no issue with just dropping one like an hour in if it doesn't click with me I WILL NOT FORCE MYSELF TO FINISH THEM IF I'M NOT HAVING FUN JUST BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE NOT FINISHING THINGS I WILL NOT DO THAT sorry I need to create a public statement in order to hold myself accountable for anything or else I will 100% force myself to 100% literally all of these even if I hate them because I'm stupid and insane. I already played a few of them, namely Without a Voice and Milk Inside a Bag of Milk (not Outside a Bag of Milk yet tho, also I know that one technically isn't an English VN it's Russian but like, I don't care about your language, I only care about Cookie's Bustle) and they were both pretty good, so off to a pretty good start so far, hopefully the rest are equally good :). I'm not reading the fucking bird dating simulator I don't even remember what it's called I'M NOT READING SHITPOSTS THIS IS SERIOUS TIME I ONLY READ SERIOUS VISUAL NOVELS

Switching to English for the follow up cause it's absolutely unbelievable, it makes me sick to my stomach.

She was left crying in pain in the ER hallway for four hours without any care or pain killers (pretty standard mind you). Then she was diagnosed with a fracture (insert a shocked pikachu face) and had surgery scheduled for the next morning. Now credit where credit is due, they gave her paracetamol 500. She was still sobbing when my brother had her on the phone at 8AM.

And now to the actually fun part that's not just how hospitals work.

The doctor told her that she'd be walking tomorrow after the surgery, pain or no pain. In these words. While she was sobbing. You can say a lot of things about my mother, but not that she's not brave and stubborn in the face of pain. So that man literally comes up to a woman who's going through impossible suffering while just existing in her bed and threatens her.

But ! There's even better !

They also told her that she'd be out by Saturday evening (remember she was admitted on Thursday, surgery on Friday). But my mother lives in a building, fifth floor, NO LIFT. No lift. Fifth floor. Broken hip. The ambulance can drop her at her address and what, leave her to sleep outside cause she can't climb those stairs? Help her upstairs and leave her locked there, no balcony, no fresh air, no groceries (her kind neighbour volunteered for the latter, but still)? She can't live with us either, having both her and my dad in the same general location would have two deads four injured.

I swear to god this hospital has the worst reputation for a reason. People die there, no kidding. They failed to diagnose my brother's appendicitis when he was 17, almost died. My mother's shattered shoulder, almost died. Both saved not by this hospital's staff, but by forcefully getting out and begging another one to check them in.

Ahahahaha and that time there was a very bad disease in their canalisations so no one could shower there and it lasted for months. Or the time they didn't properly clean a family friend's hand before stitching it even though he'd been bitten by a cow and it got infected, and they failed to clean it properly again when he came back. No but seriously I could go on forever.

She can't even keep her dog. He's pulling too hard on the leash. He's not used to cats, so it's unsure whether we can keep him. I don't want to send him back to the shelter. It would break my mom's heart even more.

Thinking about it a wee bit is there a reason why Robin is always highlighted specifically when it comes to the whole children shouldn't be fighting crime argument like I know batman is definitely the biggest offender in that front but the dc universe also just has a overall problem with child crime fighting like why the big focus on Robin???

Benedict Cumberbatch talks extensively and fondly about his children and parents. No mention of his mother abusing him, in fact quite the opposite, he talks about what wonderful, supportive, loving parents he has.

And other people from the film also talk a lot about his family, wife and children. Almost as if the actual people who spend time with him have no hesitation in acknowledging the reality of his three lovely boys.

So what are your thoughts on kidnap play, anyway? Car trunks, chloroform, gags and bondage, the whole 9 yards.

Just answered a similar ask, but I'm pro! Part of the reason I've been venturing into original was to play with different ideas and kinks that sometimes don't fit with particular ships (like sheith).

I'd love to write some dark, sort of scarier & fucky content. I actually used to write literary style horror stories, so I'm not shy about dark stuff. I expect you'll see some show up eventually!

Theres one local theatre in my town thats at the end of the line of the bus route and theyll do throwback movies and a lot of the times its 80s movies and with the new 4k version of risky business on the horizion i desperatly need them to show it
